Julie~ Sorry to hear that you are having a bad day. Is there a local news station that does investigative reporting? Here in MI, they have Ruth to the Rescue, you could call them and tell them about the guy ripping you off, and they might look into it if they know that others have been ripped off as well.

Marti~ Thanks for checking the site out. My mom loves doing the website, although I have gone on there and she had left some things out or hadn’t updated a couple pictures. But who can blame her with all the kids at home? Good luck with the job.

Jana~ I know that it is over 1,000, but I am not sure the exact count. I will have to check it out, but I believe I have gotten over the 1,200 mark each day. The day that I was going to mention the birthday party idea to my hubby, ironically we got a catalog from Birthday Express. So, we were looking through it to see if they had any ducky themes and sure enough they do, but it only feeds eight. So we will have to look around at different stores. I know it can be done because I was just at a baby shower where the theme was rubber duckies.

TJ~ My motivation is getting into a better body shape for our friend’s wedding next May. But I just found out a couple hours ago that we have yet another wedding to go to……next month!!! So I am setting a mini-goal for myself to be down closer to the 200 mark by then, which I think I can do! I get on my bike in the morning after I feed Brandon at 5am….but I am also thinking about adding a night time turn on it. Will that help me or harm me? It seems like after 9pm, I don’t have anything else that HAS to be done, so I just get on here and check my mail.

Me again with a health update. Went for my paps test today and to get an order for my mammogram. Dr. decided I should have a CT scan and the mammogram. I could not believe they got me in for those TOMORROW. Unheard of to get in that quickly. Anyway, maybe I will get some answers, maybe not, but at least we are working on it. (I had lost 4 pounds since I was on his scales last)
Had a nice lunch with my DD and told her I would drive them to the airport Fri. I hate doing that because I have to say goodbye to her and the grandsons out in public. Breaks my heart.
I did laundry and made a dish of potato salad today. Oops, there come those 4 pounds back!! Tonight was my first night of not walking 2 miles for over a week. I will get back to it tomorrow.
Marti- I hope you get good news from the interview. I think you handled it just right.
Mindee- I also looked at the web site. What a wonderful family. Have fun Sunday.

Hope to chat tomorrow night! Hi to all the JL's.

Hi girls--

I was getting ready for bed and thought I would stop in.

Anyone ever watch "Stepmom" with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon? I just finished watching that...the end had me in tears. I was almost sobbing!! It was a touching movie. Everytime I watch a movie with Susan Sarandon I just picture her in the movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" anyone see that movie? (I loved it) And since I'm on the topic of movies here...anyone watch "The Big Fish" or "Phone Booth" ? James and I rented the big fish off the satellite...and we recorded the Phone Booth and haven't watch it yet....any good? I really liked the Big Fish...that made me cry too.

Sue--I sure hope everything is ok with you. I worry with all the visits to the dr's you making. I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Mindee--The site your mother made was very sweet and touching. You have a wonderful mother to do something like that. What a wonderful family.

Shanna--Forgot to mention earlier...I asked about where the lab is located that I would be working for....it's the one by the Sacred Heart Hospital...so I won't be in your area if I get the job, I was so disappointed!! Who am I going to bug each night for lunch???????

Angie--Thank you for the postcard!! BEAUTIFUL!!! I would love to someday visit!! Now to find a pretty and impressive postcard of my area to send to you. (that outhouse in the country is a cute tourist attraction!!)

Well I'm going to go dry my eyes and then take a quick shower and go to bed.

You all have a good night!! Sweet dreams.

tjmarco 08-12-2004 06:25 AM

hey girlies---

marti-- i have watched big fish and phone booth both and they are really good. totally different types of movies. big fish as you know keeps you fascinated with all the tales and phone booth as you will find out keeps you on the end of your seat. youll enjoy.

well, im hoping to go walk tonight and of course, ill have to do my 100 squats and 100 crunches for the dual. LOL - i love that word. i used to put on a tight bra and do jumping jacks-that does your whole body good.

well, ill try to check in later. hope everyone has a good day.
tj

Jane 08-12-2004 09:09 AM

Happy Thursday, ladies!

Susan - I think it's so nice that you've been praying for guideance regarding the CG. What would we do without prayer??? I feel blessed, don't you? So... CG is Irish with an Italian last name..... can't wait to know more about him. So when did you say you may meet for coffee?

TJ - like the others said, when you fall off the wagon is when you need to be here the most. Glad you are up to a dual! We have a Save A Lot here, too.

Marti - the outfit you wore sounds very nice. Yeah, I saw Stepmom and cried my little heart out. That was a few years ago... I liked how the mom tricked the girlfriend with the concert tickets, lol.

Jen - I haven't got the Christmas catalog yet, but I assume it's coming. Ordered 6 things from the Fall one, and wanted to order about 66! Hope you have a good, long weekend even with doing the client checks.

Mindee - the family web site is awesome! Your mom has really worked hard on it! Love your family photo. Is the dog Cheyenne?

Sue - hope they find what's wrong with you.

Hello to Angie, Cristi, Shanna, RosieKate, Heather, Julie, and anyone else I may have missed.

Katie and I are going to finish shopping for school clothes today. (school starts Tuesday!) She still needs a couple more pairs of jeans and a coat. May have to get the coat later, but I noticed a lot of them are available, and are on sale!

Neal is putting in a sandbox for the DGDs today. Won't that be fun for them? And for grandma, too. ;)

BBL,

FrouFrou 08-12-2004 09:30 AM

Hi & Good Morning to All~

My you ladies had a busy day posting yesterday! I am going to have to start checking in 2 or 3 times a day to keep up! Of course I don't have time to post after reading it all but will be back later and try to catch up.

Do want to say to Mindee-wow! And I thought my family was big. I haven't had a chance to look at the whole site but will later. I noticed the MACS (Make A Child Smile) stamp on the site and had to mention that I have been frequenting MACS for a few years now, actually get the emails monthly with the new kids for the month and updates and sending cards to the kids. I even have a bumper sticker on my car because I think this is the greatest site and what Alexandria has done for all those families over the years is wonderful, not to mention all the people who send gifts and cards to these children. All it takes is a card and a stamp to make a childs day.

Anyway...will do individulas later ladies. Need to get dressed and out the door in just a few minutes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

da fat n da furious 08-12-2004 09:34 AM

Good Morning Ladies,
Marti I bawled with Stepmom,,,it would have to be one of my favorite movies,,,and Steel Magnolia's. Twp great Movies to clean out the tear ducts...lol
(Im stage managing Steel Magnolia's this fall/winter, I was kinda disappointed to hear its not the same as the movie,,,) Phonebooth lots of swearing,,,but good, Big Fish I enjoyed...a little on the weird side but once I actually watched it was cool.
Jana, I don't know its just because its boys but Brandon and I have only shopped for one new pair of jeans. I did pick up a few dress shirts for really awesome deal a week ago, and he likes to wear them with a tee under it. Bought shoes right before school ended, so we are set. Need to pick up some pens and I can't remember what kind he likes.
Tanner well probably today we will go and do some shopping, I more or less have gotten all his supplies.
TJ, girl this is the place you come to when you are fallen off the wagon and have been run over by it! We will help you up, dust you off and tell you to walk it off...literally walk it off...lol
Sue, well its good to know things are moviing fast for you in getting results, I hate the waiting game. Brandon and I go back to find out the results of his CT.

Last night went to BP for wings with the girls...there was a young girl who worked with us and is leaving soon to go off to college in my home town. So even thou I don't work there anymore and all, we all got together for a going away party. We laughed so much ,,,gawd we are embarrassing some times...lol Ever laugh so hard you snort? ya there was alot of snorting..lol
I had to work a quick case yesterday,,to get information from a place...it was hilarious,,,a tool shop. I played the ditzy I know nothing about tools, and I don't want to break a nail,,,but Im here looking for a gift for my husband. Had the guy eating out of my hand,,,hilarous. He showed me how to use these tools,,,and their names. Thing is I have all them same tools, that Monte and my parents bought me over the years...lol
Mindee, wow your family site is awesome...remarkable parents.

Well Im thinking of going back to bed,,,
Hello to all, Susan, Katie, RK, Heather, Jen,
Angie

FrouFrou 08-12-2004 02:38 PM

Okay...let's see if I can get caught up.

Oh Angie~I can't watch Steel Magnolia's because it is too sad, even though I have. But when it gets to the end I immediately turn it. It always makes me cry, maybe more so because I know it is based on a true story and the thought of her dying and leaving that baby behind kills me. Funny about the snorting-I DO snort when I get to laughing really hard. Of course the snorting gets me laughing even more. Funny about the tool store.

Jana~would have stayed and chatted with you yesterday but had to go, sorry. I am going to try and make the chat tonight, at 9 right? About the show Trading Spouses, next Tuesday's show they are trading dads, that should be interesting. The first two shows it was moms. PT is definitely helping, there is a big difference from yesterday and today and she seems to think she can get my arm working the way it should so I will be going till I don't have to anymore. Supposed to help my bad posture also.

Marti~glad the interview went well. Keeping my fingers :crossed: that you get the job. I don't know why I giggle when nervous but it annoys me sometimes. I feel like I am not going to be taken serious but don't know how to stop it! I have seen the movie Step-Mom, good one and another that makes me cry. I too like Susan Sarandon. Also, saw Phone Booth, wasn't too impressed with it but it wasn't bad-I did watch the whole thing so it couldn't have been too bad or I wouldn't have finished watching it. Haven't heard of the Big Fish-what is that one about and who is in it?

RosieKate~can't remember if you said where you guys are going for vac but I hope you guys have a GREAT time!! And take lots of photo's! I did check out that thread on Dottie's, the other night as a matter of fact. I didn't have time to read it but did print it out. Glad you are doing good with it.

Sue~boy that was fast getting an appt. so soon. Hope everything goes well for ya. I hate good-byes whether in public or private. Just have never been good at saying it. Most of the time I won't even say it, instead I will say see ya or see ya later.

Jen~hope you got that much wanted sleep/rest. At least you can catch up on your long weekend.

Susan~okay girly you can't throw us for a loop and go for a cantaloupe! Just when you got me talked into the watermelon you go and switch on me! Guess what I had for dinner last night? Yeppers, watermelon! All that talk about it got me craving it and I HAD to have one! I must say it was delicious! :T I actually had a kosher (spear) pickle, a bowl of watermelon and a diet coke for dinner. For some reason I wasn't hungry except for watermelon! Michael sounds like a cutie pie!! An Irish/Italian named Michael, hmmm...you must share a photo with us. And of course he would want to see you after seeing your photo silly!

Julie~Yeah those lojack things for people aren't common at all. The family I saw them doing it on had a medical problem and that was the main reason for it. And so they wouldn't have to wear the jewelry. But what got me was how is anyone supposed to know they actually have it if it is not common? It showed them putting the little bitty chip in their arm. Kind of cool if you think about it. Sorry to hear about your car. You might want to contact the BBB about that guy, they can at least try and get your money back for you, or at least part of it.

Mindee~I have to agree with Jana about the 1000 cals. that is very low, even 1200 seems really low. And burning 4000 cals. not sure about that. I know it takes 3000 cals. to lose 1 pound but if you are buring 4000 a day that seems like a lot. Especially if you are only getting 1000-1200 cals. a day. But I am no medical official, it's JHMO. I am going to check out your site a little later that is quite a family.

TJ~girly this is the place to come when you fall off the wagon. Lord knows I have enough times but I just keep getting back on. And coming here helps so when you need to talk or fall off the wagon, whatever, just come here for some support lady-that is what we are here for. :grouphug: About the money, yeah I read that somewhere and that's why I didn't want to take it back because they were so very grateful to have their family member back. I had told the lady (Dianna) when she said I am going to give you some money but I don't have my purse-I told her no that is not necessary. She said it again when leaving and I told her no again and she said "YES! I will be back" So I felt after her husband brought over the card and after reading it that it would be an insult to them if I took it back-because honestly I dont think they would have taken it back. Still don't know what I am going to do with it though.

Okay, wow, now that was a book there. Geez, I need to start checking back a few times a day to keep up with you ladies. Funny though, when I do check a few times a day seems everyone is busy and then when I don't you ladies get chatty. :) I need to get going and make a grocery list, do a couple of loads of laundry and sweep and mop the bathrooms. I love those swiffers!! Went to Target this morning and picked up a few things, bought a plant that I need to put in a bigger pot. Going to work on the counter/bar in the kitchen later. We have a counter/bar dividing the kitchen and dining area but it doesn't hang over and we want to put some bar stools there and use it to eat at since no one ever eats at the table. I will definitely be back later this evening to get in on the chat later. TTFN :)

Marti 08-12-2004 04:19 PM

Hello girls--

Got a late start this morning...I stayed up late reading...then I woke up early when James came home and got to sleep in a little with him....long enough for me to think..."I gotta get up or my whole day feels wasted!"

TJ--Did you do your situps and squats?? Just for an idea....you can always break up the 100 to 50 in the morning and 50 at night.......that's if you're not used to doing them of coarse.

Jana--Do you want to take Jhanai shopping with you?? School here doesn't start until after Labor Day. And she is already for back to school shopping!! She's already told me places she wants to go......I love going shopping...wish they had cute clothes for me to wear!!

Angie--Like I've said before...I would LOVE to go with you on one of your cases!! You have such an entertaining life! And the energy you possess is something else!! Bet you can't wait for that upcoming vacation to Cuba!!!

Cristi--Big Fish has Ewan McGregor in it and some others that I don't know.....but it about this son who is talking about the life of his father who is a story teller. (exaggerates) it's a touching story...a little different and almost fantasy like...but I love it. And like Ewan McGregor helps a lot too! ;)

Morning to the rest of you girls out there!!

Not much on my agenda for the day. I'm relieved that I don't have any interview to go to and my husband is home for a little bit so I can relax with him part of the day before he has to leave again. He's thinking of taking another personal day off next week. That will be nice.

The Lane County Fair is coming up next week...I'm not going to it unless James is home and wants to go....I never ride on the rides so Jhanai prefers to go to it with her dad....and promised her that I would give her some money so she can enjoy it. What's nice about where they live...since the fair is so close....the neighbors around the fair grounds get free entry.....I guess a token for putting up with all the traffic and noise. So I thought that was pretty cool....because I didn't realize they lived that close enough for it to be distracting.

Anyway...I want to get my day going and get James up here in half an hour......you all take care and I will try to make it in for Chat later on tonight!!

Mom2Gaby 08-12-2004 05:21 PM

Good Afternoon-

I just had a fast lunch of cottage cheese, albacore tune and pickled beets!!!

and 7 mini tootsie rolls...........

Attended a finance meeting >Flattered that they included me. I am not a manager (yet) and don't need to learn it (yet). Enjoyed my time though and will get off early tonight.

Cable Guy is a sweet man. After Les IS No More I pretty much have to pray........lol.I pray for peace of mind about his intentions - about what is in his heart. I already know what is in mine. I had some red flags going off with LesINM but ignored them somewhat.
Cable Guy though seems like a sincere man. We talked for 3 hours last night. He wrote me this morning saying how he enjoyed our conversation.
I guess he thinks I am pretty, he likes my eyes and nose.......lol- I think he was joking on the nose.
He is very funny and he seems to like the fact that we share the same sense of humor.
We meet Tuesday morning at Starbucks.

Weighed in at 144! yay

Gaby is doing good and the older girls are at basketball camp.

hi to you all- just on the run. Sorry..............

tjmarco 08-12-2004 05:42 PM

hey jaded ladies:

it rained here all day. i woke up at 530 and got my day started, and it was raining then. i kept telling myself that i wanted to go for a walk and as soon as it slowed down i would go. guess what, it has poured all day. which makes me worry about my sewer. as soon as it gets dark, i am going to go pull the plugs and leave them off for the night. i am going to do the squats and the crunches while i watch bigbrother. and then, if the kids are cooperative, i will join everyone in chat.

i too would like to go on an investigation with a pi. i dated the son of a pi, but his wasnt glamorous, he mostly hunted down runaways or deadbeat dads, etc.

thank the goddess for my parents, they took my daughter to do her sch shopping. we make too much to get government help but are in so much debt we barely have money to live on wk to wk. ya know. anyway, kriste is set for all she needs and the boys had started pre sch back in march so we just yard sale shopped for them some stuff. they are so young they do not know the difference anyway. ya know???

well, i better get off here and get the rest of my chores done so that i can do my exercises while i watch my show.

blessed be,
tj

Dolphin 08-12-2004 07:03 PM

Hiya gals. Figured I'd get in here and get on it. I am so glad that I've got a 4 day weekend. It's going to be glorious, but way too fast, of course. I don't have any big plans. Not even sure if DBF is coming over. Hmmm. Tomorrow I'm meeting my Margarita buddy. I'm actually walking down to the restaurant, it's about 5 blocks, so it'll be nice. Sat, I'm not sure yet. Sunday my Grandmother is coming over. I have no idea why or what we are going to do, she just invited herself. Monday I'm taking a cat to the vet to get her teeth checked. How exciting is that???? Don't ya-all wish ya could be like me?

I have a confession to make. I don't really like watermelon. Ok, I like the taste of it, but I don't like the seeds. I know, seedless. But it's not really seedless, there are those little white ones. Those are seeds, I know they are. For some reason, it just bothers me. I know, weirdo.

TJ - Oh, I hate that kind of weather. It just makes me want to crawl into bed.

Susan - You enjoyed your time at a finance meeting?! I had to go to a budget meeting yesterday, and thought that I was going to die. UGH. That is not for me. Glad you are being careful with CG, Michael, the Irish man with an Italian last name (that is quite a title).

Marti - Haven't seen Big Fish. Watched Phone Booth for the second time on HBO last night. It's good once, not really the 2nd time. It is different. Makes some good points too!

Cristi - My weekend is going to be very laid back and unscheduled. I'm sure I'll feel like I wasted alot of time, but oh well. Sometimes I just need to waste time. Does that make any sense? Glad to hear the PT is helping your arm.

Angie - Faking it in a tool store? I don't know how you can do it. I am such a terrible liar. They want us to do "secret shoppers" at work with the competition. I can't even pull that off, I'm so terrible.

Jana - I'm such a dumb blond. If I would have looked in yesterdays pile of mail, I would have found the fall catalog! I should be getting another in 7-14 days too! Uh-oh! There are quite a few things I would like to get. Wonder if we've got the same taste. That squirril on the back cover is just the cutist thing.

Sue - Gosh, hope your CT goes well. Thoughts will be with you. Reminds me, I need to schedule a few appts.

Well, time to go find dinner. Jen

jewels2 08-12-2004 07:13 PM

Hi Everybody!!!

Hey all

Well I finally calmed down over my car situation!!! It's sickening that I always get taken advantage of, but such is life sometimes!!! I did very well on my diet today and I walked 3 miles at lunch time!!! So I am proud, and I made it through another night last night of no bingeing!!! I had a popsicle before bed and I was satisfied..... however, I am having bigtime stomach pains.... has anyone else experienced that??? Im wondering if its my stomach shrinking, because sometimes it really gets to me.... oh well

Marti : Big Fish and Phone Booth are both awesome movies.. Phone
Booth kinda keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the
ending will really surprise you!!! I won't spoil it, have you
heard anything from the interview????

Jana : Hope the shopping goes well for you!!!! And the kids will love
the sandbox, I have a sandbox in my backyard for my friends
kids when the came over and they love it...

Cristi : I had to laugh about the Lojack for a kid, I can see where that
would be really good to have, I wish I had caught that special.
Also I am thinking about contacting the BBB on that mechanic
cause I cant imagine how many other women he's pulling the
same crap on..

TJ : Even though we haven't met yet, glad to hear you're getting
back on track!!! I'm glad to hear someone else has the name
Julie Ann too. I really dont like my name though, I never have!!

Mindee : Thanks for the advice on the mechanic, we have a similar thing
in our area, except its in a local newspaper. People post places
where they've either had good or bad experiences to let others
know... I am seriously considering it!!

BY THE WAY LADIES..... what time is chat??? This is my first week with you
all and I wasnt sure what time you guys tried to meet up on thursdays???

Chat with you all Later
Julie

tjmarco 08-12-2004 07:48 PM

julie,
chat is at 900 indiana time but you are in my time zone (wv) so it will be at 1000. hope to see you there.
tj

jewels2 08-12-2004 08:05 PM

hi all

Just wanted to check in and let you know that since chat is at 10pm for me, I wont be able to make it..... I have to get up at 5am so Thats my bed time...hopefully one of these nights I will catch you guys on though when I dont have to get up so early!!!
Have fun though, think of me

Nightie Night

Marti 08-12-2004 09:38 PM

Hey there...I'll be back in time for chat...see if anyone is on.

Sorry that you can't make it Julie!! We could always try for an earlier time. What do you think girls?

Ok...got some stuff to look at...be back in a little bit.

RosieKate 08-12-2004 09:56 PM

I'm here...killing time 'til chat. Hopefully, I can keep DD occupied...we'll see.

I'm trying to be calm about my visit with my father, but it is starting to get to me a bit. He's pretty dysfunctional and I have to just remember my boundries with him and the X/W. I think I've just created the perfect acronym for an ex-spouse, newly remarried to former spouse. What do you all think? It's just so hard... Was watching Dr. Phil for a bit today and they had that family in crisis that he's been profiling (teenage daughter has baby out of wedlock, dad Marty has had two affairs) That dad reminded me of my dad, but we just never talked about anything.....they may be screwed up but at least they are talking about things. You know, I just have to get in the car and go, as planned, say a little prayer, and just turn it all over to God.

Tj - You've probably seen BB by now. I followed a live feed transcript on Survivor Sucks. I guess several East Coast cities are pre-emopting BB for footbal and hurricane coverage. I will watch at 8, but am glad that a** Jase is gone. Now the game can get really interesting with some intelligent people. Marvin cracks me up - hope he sticks around

Marti - Amazing Race is my favorite reality show and you can bet I'm glued everytime it is on. I'm rooting for Charla and Mirna. Survivor is a close second and of course, Big Brother is a perverse fascination - I am hooked on it but sometimes don't understand why...it is strange little show

Hi to everyone else...will try to post tomorrow, then it's off to the beautiful Oregon coast!
RK

FrouFrou 08-12-2004 10:52 PM

Well ladies I would have liked to have joined in on the chat but as I said my 'puter is as slow as christmas. By the time I would get a sentence out you wouldn't have known what the heck I was responding to! It was fine today till DS got a hold of it. He is always messing with it trying to fix it and makes it worse sometimes. Anyway...maybe next week.

Marti~okay, now I am remembering seeing the previews of Big Fish and I did want to see that. Hope you get to go to the fair. Ours is coming up in Sept. and I told Vince he IS taking a day off to go!

WTG Susan on the weight loss! Although, I think you look fine the way you are. Hope when you and Michael get together you guys have a nice time.

Jen~for some reason I thought you and DBF lived together. Well, what ever you do this weekend, relax and enjoy!

TJ~I'm so glad I don't have kids in school anymore. I noticed here the parents buying school supplies. It's different here than it was in CA-there I didn't have to buy the kids any school supplies, but did so they had some stuff for at home for homework and such and didn't have to pay a deposit for school books which I am not sure why they call it a deposit here because you don't get it back. It gets very expensive to have kids in school now days. Hope the rain lets up so you can get a walk in tomorrow. We had some rain here also.

Julie~this show I saw that on was a few years ago and the people were well to do. This kid was about 12, 13'ish and very intelligent and just thought it was so cool to be putting one of those chips in his arm. They didn't actually call it a lojack, just a microchip.

RosieKate~you sound like me when I have to go see my parents. I come from a very dysfunctional family and have forgiven them for a lot of stuff, especially my dad and the many affairs he had while married to my mother. So it is very hard for me to go see them. But I do. Speaking of which my mother and Aunt may be coming here next week for a day, just passing through on their way to KC. So hopefully since my Aunt is with my mother I won't have to go there this month. My Aunt is off to a PO convention in KC-oh what fun! Not! She is a big whig for the post office. She thought she would drag my mother along. My Aunt from CA is going to meet up with them there and the one in CO said no thanks. She didn't want to waste her vacation time on that! Okay. They always have a "sister" vacation every year and things usually have to be her way or not at all. So I am hoping they get to stop by.

Well, HI to everyone else. Going to go post on some other threads and do a little reading and hit the hay. I am pooped for some reason. Nighty night ladies.

P.S. wasn't even thinking ladies that I may have come off as being rude with me just leaving the chat room and not saying by. Wasn't even thinking-sorry if it came across as rude. I don't think you guys missed me. :D

tommysgirl18 08-13-2004 12:14 AM

We went out with a friend of ours today. And by we, I mean Brandon and I, Tommy was at work. Anyways….I got dressed this morning in an outfit that used to fit me a little loosely in the top part, i.e. my chest, and fine on the bottle. We got to the mall, and I noticed that I had to keep my outside shirt zipped up because my boobs kept wanting to pop out! Fast forward to when we got home, and we were sitting on the front porch when the garbage men came around. Both of them were staring and we couldn’t figure out why until our friend Anna goes “uhhh….Min, fix your top.”

Me, Tommy and Brandon went for a walk after we ate dinner, and we walked by this shop with glass windows in it. I figured “oh what the heck I will see if I notice a difference already.” My gosh, I don’t look like I am about 4-5 months pregnant anymore! I actually look like how I feel….which is totally amazing!! I have to admit, we went to the restaurant down the street, but I didn’t go off my plan. I had a tuna salad sandwich on toasted bread, a cup of homemade chicken noodle soup and a glass of water!

Suetalks~ thanks for checking out the website. I checked out my fitday thing, and since I joined on the 9th, I wrote down my total calorie intake for those days. On the 9th, I took in 1275. On the 10th, I took in 1753 (mainly fats). On the 11th, I took in 2121 (mainly carbs). And on the 12th, I took in 2204 (again, mainly carbs). Is it good to take in more carbs then fats?

Marti~ She is wonderful isn’t she? I think I have seen bits and pieces of “Stepmom” but I remember the ending! Had me in tears as well.

Jana~ Yup our doggie is Cheyenne. We also have a cat, whose name is Joker. There is a picture of her on Brandon’s website.

Cristi~ I have been meaning to tell you that I love your avi! That is the exact same thing I am working towards! I will have to mention that to my mom. I am sure that she would love to hear that. Or you could send her an email, I think there is a link on the webpage to send her an email.

Angie~ thanks for the nice compliments.

Julie~ I say go ahead and write to the newspaper. Cause you never know how many other people have gotten taken advantage of from them.

Marti 08-13-2004 01:52 AM

Hello girls

Cristi--Of coarse we missed you!! I didn't think you were being rude at all. You told us you were having problems with your computer. Very understandable. I mentioned the fair to James....he doesn't think he'll be in town, but who knows. So I may just head over to yours and join you and your hubby!! :D (I wouldn't do that...can't intrude on a couples fun)

Mindee--So you had an experience like I did the other day eh? (were you here when that happened?) nothing like flashing without realizing it!

Rk--I've been watching Big Brother5 also....and have no idea why....it's not all that entertaining....But I have to say that I am hooked on the Amazing Race and would just LOVE to be a part of it myself. I haven't ever watched Survivor.....which one are they on now?

I watched Extreme makeover tonight. And Big Brother5...kept flipping back and forth...(pathetic I know) Extreme Makeover just had me in tears seeing the happiness in these womens eyes....and there was another show about a couple who met while doing the makeover....at least I think that's how it worked, it had been on for 10mins. before I turned it on. It was sweet...they ended up staying together and he asked her to marry him and she said yes. That brought tears to my eyes too. Boy I'm a weepy one aren't I?

When I watch that show, some of the women have belly's that don't look too bad and are getting either lypo or tummy tucks. I'm sitting here thinking....my belly would look sooooo much better with a tuck. It just hangs low and then goes into a fold (and I'm serious when I say that...) and it's just so depressing. I don't even know when that happened. So if I were to win the lottery...that would be the first thing I'd go out and do. I keep telling James I want to get one by the time I'm 35 (less than 2yrs) so I gotta start saving money. :D It's going to take me so much longer than 2yrs to save money for that!! But it's my dream and I can dream right??

Ok...rambling on here. SORRY.

I will check in tomorrow!

Night!

SqueakMouse 08-13-2004 02:09 AM

Marti is not telling the truth with the belly fold that she is telling you all about in the above post. DO NOT BELIEVE HER FOR A SECOND!!! LOL. I know for a fact cause she is my best buddy and I worked with her for four years and see her all the time ( not as much as I would like since she is a hoot to be around, nothing like a buddy that is cool)
So marti stop your fibbing and saying that you are serious before I have momma jana come over to your house and paddle you good!!!!!!!

Marti 08-13-2004 03:27 AM

Oh Shanna...for heavens sakes...am I going to have strip for you to see what I cry about at night??

It's not a HUGE thing...but it DOES fold. Believe me....my husband see's it all the time...just ask him. It's low around the waist around the panty line area, and it looks a lot like some of the women who have had kids (like me) and their skin just doesn't go back to the normal way it was before. I can hide it well....but believe me when I say it's there.

And I may have to send Jana to you for harassing me! :D (you're going to have to break us up now aren't ya Jana!)

Just checking in before I go to bed.

Night night!!

SqueakMouse 08-13-2004 04:16 AM

Liar liar pants on fire , hanging from a telephone wire!!!!
One good thing about working all night..... I get the last word. BWAAAAHAHAHA

P.S. I don't think James will be able to back up your false belly fold comments missy. But I give you big props for trying to bluff your way out of your fibs. LOL.
You are tiny and beautiful and stop doggin on yourself and making stuff up. No need to cry missy, you can cry about my fat behind if you want . My hip size is real.

tommysgirl18 08-13-2004 07:24 AM

Marti~ Nope, I don’t think I was on here when you told about your flashing moment. I was watching Extreme Makeover too last night. I watched the first one, with the guy and the girl and then they ended up falling in love.

The worst part about my flashing the garbage men was that one of them stayed at the corner to wait for the truck to turn around, and he kept staring at us on the porch. My hubby was now outside with us and was telling the guy to stop staring......but it didn't work cause they still kept on doing it.

Jane 08-13-2004 09:14 AM

Good morning ladies,

Cristi - so sorry your computer wouldn't cooperate last night. You were missed after you left. I'll have to check out the MACS website. Glad your PT is helping.

Shanna - so sorry you had to leave early in chat! You were missed.

Sue - hope you have a good weekend, enjoying this beautiful Indiana weather.

Angie - school shopping for girls is mucho denero - did I spell that right, lol? Girls are high maintenance, let me let ya!! Your party with the girlfriends sounds so fun. Can I tag along next time?

Marti - glad you had some quality time with James. Shopping with Jhanai will be fun - just be sure to take loads of $$$.

Susan - hmmm... if they had you attend the finance meeting, are they grooming you for management? YAY for your weight loss. I say that everyday, lol. So, are you looking forward to Tues?

TJ - glad your kids got what they need for school. You are really good about doing your exercises! I'm proud of you.

Jen - I wish I had a grandma! But tell her to leave the cookies at home this time, lol. Hope you have a great weekend. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous.

Julie - I'm all for making the chat time an hour earlier. Regarding your stomach pain... could be gas-causing foods. Like raw veggies and such. Your belly shrinking wouldn't be painful that I know of.

RosieKate - I saw part of Dr. Phil, and want to smack the dad. So very sorry your dad is/was like that! You are brave to go there and face the X/W, and I hope she is civil.

Mindee - yay, glad you noticed the difference in your size. I did the same thing with the reflection in my front door glass. It took me off guard, and made me smile.

Hi to the other JLs...

Had lots of fun in chat last night! What do you all think about starting an hour earlier? It's fine with me... I'd like for Julie to be able to join us, too.

I'm going to El Paso, Illinois (not Texas!) tomorrow which is real close to Bloomington/Normal. My niece just moved there, and she's having an open house. Neal and I are staying over in Champaigne to see a planetarium. (Remember - he teaches Earth Science, Conservation and Astronomy) I am looking forward to getting away. We're leaving about 6 AM.

I'll try to stop by again later today, though. But if not, have a good weekend, and I'll see you Sunday.

RosieKate 08-13-2004 09:57 AM

Ok - quickie here from me...we have a busy day and tomorrow we're off!

Really enjoyed the chat last night, i might be able to chat earlier...I'm kind of hit or miss as it is, so if I'm around I'll log on and see who's there. Youall are so funny! I needed a laugh. I'm trying to not get to stressed about Dad and X/W, but it's there and I have to tie myself to a chair to keep from eating a whole container of Skinny Cows! ( Only 2 points :)) I'm recognizing that this is my fight or flight response I have had over the years to him. He really is like that dad on Dr. Phil - never talks about anything so doesn't have to take responsibility...but yet I feel like I have to have some kind of relationship with him even if it minimal.... thank you for your kind words and support.

Hope everyone has a great week - I'll check in when I get back
RosieKate

RosieKate 08-13-2004 09:59 AM

That would be 2 points for each Skinny Cow, not the entire container...wouldn't THAT be lovely! ;)

Dolphin 08-13-2004 11:13 AM

Good morning, good morning, la la la...omg, I'm taking after Shanna! I'm just so happy to be home and relaxed today. It's amazing the difference one day off makes! My mom is supposed to be coming in September. I just wish she would say which week. Then I could take a couple days off. She just won't for whatever reason. She's going to stay with my grandma through her 70th birthday, October 12th. I suppose we'll have a big party then!

I would actually like the chat an hour earlier. Sorry girls, but once the fall season starts, ER is on at 9pm! Gotta watch that. An hour earlier would be perfect, could chat, and then watch the hunky docs!

Jana - Oh, you remembered Grandma's cookies. :cookie: Yep. They're already made. I'm getting choc chip, old fashioned oatmeal, zuchini bread, blackberry jam, and spaghetti sauce. I think she was bored! But, I've already told the gals at work, so they are expecting a delivery on Tuesday when I go back to work!

nn sujjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjzzzzzzzzzzj (Little Kitty says "Hi")

Mindee - Men are such pigs aren't they? Just ask Marti? She's shown 'em a thing or 2! I had a flashing moment last summer. It was my deciding moment to get "the girls". I was going yard work, wearing shorts and a bikini top, bending over, pulling weeds. Looked down at myself, and noticed that there was a 3 inch gap between me and the bikini top. No wonder the neighbors always come outside when I do yardwork! :o

Cristi - I've even told dbf that if we move in together, we need a huge house, I still need all of my space, my own computer room, tv room, and of course a cat room! Right now I have a 2 story, built in 1927, I think. And it's just me. I'm used to alot of space!

Well, gals, I should go do something, even if it's just pick up the clutter. At least the sun is shining! It's been overcast all week. I'm so seasonal sometimes!

Jen

Jane 08-13-2004 11:20 AM

I'm back already... :D

RK - have a good trip. When you get around your dad, take some deep breaths and count to 10. I also love Skinny Cows..yum!

Change of plans for Neal and me - we are leaving today instead of tomorrow, and are staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Urbana, IL. I've never stayed at a B&B. This one is in a historical, residential area of the town, but within walking distance of a mini mall, and some other sites. Here're some photos of the place. We're booked for the English Ivy queen room.

Gotta go pack....see you Sunday!

FrouFrou 08-13-2004 12:25 PM

Happy Friday the 13th...

Hi Ladies~

Jen~enjoy your long weekend. Those cookies and zucchini bread sound delicious! :T

Jana~hope you enjoy your weekend also. Nice B & B! V and I were going to stay in one when we renewed our vows but changed our minds. Figured we would make too much noise, if ya know what I mean! ;)

RosieKate~hope you enjoy your vacation. I forgot I watched that family on Dr. Phil the first time around and yeah that Marty is an idiot. I would have kicked him out a long time ago! I hope they do an update to see how they are doing since it ended. He is also like my dad!

Marti~you can come down and go to the fair with me and Vince. He wouldn't mind at all, nor would I. :) Yeah, I hope whatever is wrong with this computer is better next week so I can chat with you all. It took forever for everything to pop up and then for me to type just that one sentence. :(

Mindee~okay, you and Marti and your boobies falling out! I can actually say it has never happened to me. But one time on the beach I was rubbing lotion on my sisters back and when I slid my hand up under the strap it popped off! Oooops! :o she grabbed herself and jumped down fast! I of course couldn't quit laughing! Too funny...but it irritates me and has for years that men are always looking at womens boobs, ummm, my eyes are up here! I just noticed your wedding date is a day before mine. We married on May 12.

Shanna~you are silly. :dizzy: And yes Marti is a beautiful lady as are you!

Hi to everyone else!

Ooops, the time has gotten away from me and I need to cut this short. DD and I are going to see The Village in about 5 mins. Be careful out there ladies on this Friday the 13th! I already almost got into a wreck this morning on my way to Wal-Mart, stupid driver just pulled right out in front of me and then looked at me! Anyway...have a good day everyone and weekend for those of you we won't see for a few days. Be safe and careful!

Marti 08-13-2004 01:17 PM

Hello ladies--

Shanna--I want to thank you for thinking that I"m tiny. Can I put that in the NSV thread?? Boggles my mind that you see me that way.

Mindee--I believe it was just last week when I did the flashing...I had gotten out of my car and stood there taking in the area (home) seeing all these people enjoying this weather and people riding bikes...and then I noticed I was connected by one button! :o I entertain my neighbors already with things that go on around here, that was just something extra I guess! ;)

Jana--The B&B looks beautiful! James and I have talked about staying at one someday. Just haven't done it. And now, it's really going to be awhile with his crazy schedule. Enjoy your weekend there!!

Rk--What is a skinny cow? Is that icecream? I hope you are able to relax some to try and enjoy your weekend. Are you going there first thing to get it out of the way?

Jen--I have wanted my girls after I had my son 15yrs ago. I was only 110lbs back then, and when my milk came in.....OMG.....they were beautiful!! :D And I had that vision ever since. After the milk had gone (with both kids) the girls got so small and flat. So...I finally told James after years of keeping it to myself and had them done Jan.'03 a couple days after my birthday! (great birthday gift eh?)

Cristi--Enjoy your movie time with your daughter. Let us know your opinion of it. I may or may not venture to the fair. I only go for the exhibits that are INSIDE. Call me no fun I guess. But I always make sure that Jhanai has money to go have fun with her dad. She loves having him take her through the gaming area. She likes the thrill of trying to win something (I can see her now when she's older...having a gambling problem!)

Morning to the rest of the ladies out there!

Not much going on today. Picking up Jhanai later on. Looking forward to her company.
Got a call this morning from James wanting to know the name of the doctor who dealt with my "girls" I thought that was strange after having chatted about it last night. I guess some Engineers wife is wanted to get some girls but wants to find a good doctor. Then he calls me three hours later to tell me that he's going to bed. I was like...did you just get home? He worked over 14hrs. last night!! He should sleep like a log!!

Well I need to get myself some coffee and toast. I will check in later.

Mom2Gaby 08-13-2004 03:10 PM

Good Afternoon!!!

tommysgirl18 08-13-2004 03:26 PM

Jana~ It did the same to me as well! I was really taken back and I did have a huge smile I am sure on my face.

Jen~ I guess I am not the only one that likes to flash people. I was constantly having to fix my top while we were out shopping yesterday.

Cristi~ May 12th, is one of our nieces birthday and also our friend’s birthday. I didn’t think that my boobs had gotten any bigger, but I guess they have since I started working out.

Marti~ That is too funny!

da fat n da furious 08-13-2004 04:29 PM

Jana, nice....Id love to stay in a B&B,

Well I just made a huge mistake, I said I would work tomorrow night on that same case, but the thing is I have a Jesus Christ Superstar reunion tomorrow night,,,I hate when I don't remember things till its too late.
Angie

FrouFrou 08-13-2004 04:36 PM

Hiya Ladies~

Wow, I am a little jealous...everyone is leaving for the weekend. Waaaaa, I want to go...just kidding LOL! I hope every one who is traveling this weekend has a safe journey to and fro.

Mindee~I am going to finally go check out your family's site. May 12 is also my birthday-we married on my birthday because I couldn't come up with the "perfect" date. Now of course I wish I had chosen a different date.

Marti~well, all I have to say about The Village is Angie was right! I definitely would save my money and wait till it comes on cable or out in video/DVD. Better to spend $3 or $4 than $10 or more going to the theater. That's all I will say in case you do go see it-don't want to ruin it for ya. That's weird Marti with all the talk about boobies and James calls and asks that, and yes what a GREAT BD present to yourself. I think I would like to have a facelift. I told Vince that I am going to start Cristina's Facelift Fund and maybe by the time I am 50 I will have enought to actually do it! I don't like the direction my face is taking. We are like you Marti at the fair-I am not really into the rides, more the exhibits and such. We watch the people playing games to but it's more just the exhibits. I get a big kick out of seeing the little kids have fun to.

Susan~OMG!!! I am so happy you and RosieKate finally met up, even if it was for just a few minutes in the park. You ladies in OR should make a date to do a day of shopping or go to the beach since you live so close-Shanna, Marti that would be so cool. I definitely would if I lived close to you all, especially that close! Aaaahhhhh...Michael sounds like a sweetie! He sounds very sincere. About your job, I bet they are "grooming" you for the new postion. They did that with my son-gave him manager responsibilities but all the while not telling him why. Then finally made him manager and now soon to be district manager. So I will keep my fingers crossed for ya. :crossed:

Anyhoo...thought I would check in and let you all know about the movie. Of course since there is a Hallmark nearby I had to go there on the way home to pick up some candles. Although, I love the 'wedding' scent and have some and will always buy them I am now liking the 'fresh cut roses' scent for some reason. I first bought the wedding scent of course when we got married and had a bunch of them lit all over the house. Smelled sooooo good. Now I am home for the day. Have some letter writing to do, send a couple of cards and wait for DS to get home. He is coming back from KC today-yay!

Well, ladies have a great rest of the day. My weekend plans consist of some laundry, house cleaning and some scrapbooking. Since I got some baby stuff for DD's book now I can get the first three pages done. I wish I could share thme with you all-maybe if I drag the old scanner out-not sure if it will scan a 12 x 12 sheet of paper either though.

What does everyone else have planned for the weekend?

Marti 08-13-2004 04:55 PM

Afternoon ladies--

Just got home from doing some errands.....stopped by my grandpa's to see that he WASN'T home... :) I'm happy he's staying busy. My 15yr old cousin has been staying with him this summer to go out and do some wood cutting and stuff to make money. So that's nice to know he's had some company the whole time.

Susan--HOW EXCITING!!! I'm so glad you two met up and got to talk even if it was for only a minute or so. Shanna & I have talked about getting together with you two at the coast or something. Get an early start and spend most of the day together!! She mentioned something about going to Florence sometime? Would you be able to go without children? (you too Rk.....would that be too hard?) I know that is a hard thing to do.....if we meet, I would work it around the weekend that I don't have Jhanai...just so adults could talk......

Mindee--I think seeing results of weightloss is the BIGGEST motivation there is. Kind of sets your mind to "Wow...look at me, I can really do this!" I'm glad you're having success!

Angie--Time for you to carry around a day planner. Need to get yourself one of those palm pilots. James has one and really likes it. It takes care of having to carry all his books he needs for the railroad. Sounds like you need one for your scheduling AND your addresses!! ;) Just make sure you don't make plans for the time you're suppose to be on vacation!!

Cristi--Why must our bodies head south as we get older? I figure that if I start working on myself now, it won't be so bad when I hit 50....I look at my mom and I'm not sure what she's done with herself, but she still looks great. So I would like to stay young and taut when I'm her age! (her age is questionable...but still) Like you, I told James that I wanted to start a tummy tuck fund. :) Wonder how many years it woud take to save money for that. Maybe I need to do some searching to see how much it cost!! I could always put my tax returns (if I ever get any) in it each year.

I don't have any "go away for the weekend" plans either! It is hot out which make it hard to want to do too much outside but can't let the beautiful day waste away. There are festivals going on.....Shanna mentioned going to one this weekend and after I talk to Jhanai to see if she's interested...may meet up with her to go. Anyone else have Scandanavian Festivals around your area? Then next month is the Oktoberfest...I used to ask why it's held in September and the pastry place that I used to work for that always made stuff for the event told me because it always rains in October. Who knew? A little bit of trivia for ya!

I'm going to take my "children" out to go potty.....nothing like hearing dogs toenails clicking away on the wood floors because they gotta pee!!

take care

jewels2 08-13-2004 05:20 PM

Hi Ladies

Hey All,

Hope everyone is having a good day today!!! Sorry I missed the chat last night, but I had to go to bed, cause I work at 5am everyday, I did however meet a few people, before I headed to bed, so that was good!! Today is a rainy day her in Providence, Rhode Island, so nothing much to do.. When I got home from work I ran on my treadmill, first time for running in a very long time,,, I made it 5 minutes straight, then walked for ten and ran for 5 again.... did that for a half hour!! Im hoping eventually I will work up to running for like 20 minutes straight.... running as never been my thing though!!! Just felt like trying something new. Anyway, will anyone be around for chatting later or over the weekend???
I'll check back later
Julie :^:

Marti 08-13-2004 05:36 PM

OMG!!! I just had to pop in for a min. and tell you what I just saw.....

I took my dogs out to do their "thing" and across from my back yard is the housing for seniors. Well there is a chain link fence that seperates us.....and some tree's...not enough for privacy I may add. Anyway...I usually try to keep my female close to the house when she goes...she gets into a yapping frenzy when she see's strangers...anyway...I let my boy go out where he wants because he's not so bad...

To the point...chewy was close to the fence and tree's...and I heard the door open and shut so I went out there to make sure Chewy doesn't bother them by running to the fence and barking.....and as I turn what do I see???????

The woman who lives there son! He had walked to the corner and as I approached chewy he turned my way as he was zipping up!! He was peeing outside (which men do of coarse) but in full view of me....like I wanted to see his manhood.

I think I embarrassed him.....the tree's were able to block his upper half of his body...but not the part that should have been hidden!!

Lordy lordy!! At least now.....I'm not the only one who is showing off to the neighbors!!

Just had to share! :D

Mom2Gaby 08-13-2004 06:37 PM

Angie- You have sooooo much going on, very social. I am lucky to get out once a week. Anyway, THANKS for the beautiful postcard!! That was sweet. I keep meaning to send out something for you all but so absent minded lately.

Just popping in. My boss left early for a wedding in Seattle.

Marti- I will meet on the coast sometime, maybe in October?? Have to get these kids back in school first. Maybe in Newport?? I don't want to go all the way down to Florence............waaaaa, waaaaaa. Seems too far........I am getting old. You younguns can do the driving......lol

Great that you ran/walked Juile!!! VERY impressed. I try to do that but everything jiggles and I find that rather annoying , so I just walk. Rhode Island sounds like a wonderful place to live.

Cristi- I am not going anywhere this weekend!! I DO have Rachels birthday tomorrow- she will be 13 years old, my baby. Some "back to school stuff".....
Gabrielle MAY go with her father Sunday evening. I am not sure.........
I wish school would start- Rebecca teases Gaby so much. If they were apart more that would be a "good thing."
Is CG not the sweetest?? What I like about him the most is he doesn't smother and seem obsessed............lol. Like calling every day, the "too much too soon" kind of thing. He emails once or twice a day- usually while he is making breakfast and at night.....and those are short and usually he seems in a happy mood. Happy,happy,happy.......so, ya. ......hope to meet him soon.
Though I drove by the Starbucks we were going to meet and it use to be an old Dunkin Donuts- it was crowded. I am thinking of meeting at a nicer one........blah- blah....

Better go!

ttfn :)
