Chit Chat # 66

Welcome to the Jaded Ladies!

Please feel free to jump right in. :gossip:

Jane 08-05-2004 06:47 PM

Hello all my Jaded Buddies!!! Sheesh, we're a chatty bunch!

TJ - school starts here Aug. 17. We also have to work around snow days, and the kids almost always have their Easter break cut short because of make-up days.

Sue - yes, when I joined WW, I was caring for MIL and couldn't get to the meetings, so I got my points finder on line at eBay. YAY for the good test results!! The rain passed us by, but we're getting the cooler temps, which I love.

RK - there you are! I was ROFLOL regarding your comment about the PA and your cervix! Never heard of any such thing...

Cristi - hope your sinus headache is better. I get those, too, so I feel your pain.

Jen - did they catch the bank robbers? At least they got the guy with the knife! Hope the young people do get the house next to you. It's nice to have something in common besides an address w/the neighbors.

Susan - maybe you should pick one day a week to get weighed, then you wouldn't stress about it? Hey, I've got lots of peaches on my tree, so you just come on by and I'll hook you up, ok? You can resize your pic at the avatar resizer place I made a thread about... can't think of the addy without looking it up. About the support, I think you oughta try to get back support by taking his tax refund check in the Spring.

Heather - good luck at the doc today.

Shanna - chat is at 7 your time tonight, hope to see you there! Or will you be at work already?

Angie - how's Tanner?

Marti - hope you're having fun with James. Now that the interview has been postponed, you have more time to sew the buttons shut on your shirts, :D .

Jo - hope things work out with you and your DH. A Jaded Lady knows that what she weighs ISN'T who she is, so remember that, ok? And concentrate on all the accomplishments you have had in your life. We're here for you, ok?

Hi to anybody I may have missed.

I've been busier than a one-armed paper hanger today! Got all my shopping done, spent some quality time with Mary. Went to take a wedding gift over to my friend who is getting married Saturday, so I don't have to lug it with me then. Got some photos printed at Wally World, and also visited with my sister, too. All in all, a very good day!

Chat tonight at 9 Indiana time... hope to see you there!

TTFN,

carree 08-05-2004 06:50 PM

Hi Jana,

Haven't been here to visit in at least two months. Just wanted to say "Hi" and let you know I have been thinking about all of you.

Love,
carree

da fat n da furious 08-05-2004 07:31 PM

Marti, found that book you were talking about,,,Paul Harvey, when Monte is done reading it I will send it your way. I ordered it from Chapters.
So did you find something to wear for Wed?

RK....did you misplace your cervix? Geesh...woman

Cristi, ahh I feel for you, hope you feel better soon.

Susan, 200 a month is not much, and when he gets a job, he should have to increase that. I know its a percentage of income,,,but not sure of how much,,,or maybe its a Canadian thing. Anyways be firm, don't let him think he can NOT pay you. And its none of his BLEEP business about the older girls.

TJ, Im never excited about paps,,,and I have to make my appointment ,, *sigh as we speak, Normally get it done around birthday.

Well Tanner is fine,,,he just had a bit of pulled muscle which was from all the situps and such...hes cool. Skittles has been given the go ahead to do her cheetah run...lol

I worked again last night,,,was horrible weather and the person didnt' go out,,,yay!
I read this book about a teenage boy raising his baby,,,girlfriend gave the baby up so he took custody of him. It was sad. I saw it at Chapters when I went for the other book, I knew it was written for teens but...I read it and handed it over to Brandon.
Or I should say I would have ,,,he came home so late last night,,,his friend had put his hair id dred locks and he didn't like it,,,he took something like 5 showers,,,trying to get that wax out of his hair...finally I gave him a container of vinager. Which worked.
Well I need to get to football...*sigh
Angie

hey ladies:

it has been one heck of a day. got up at 5 am and got all 3 kids ready and myself. took boys to preschool and dropped them off. then headed for the pap smear. i got there at 650 and didnt get out til 945 argh!!! they changed my pills since the others were making my depression worse. i hope they work without giving me dep. ya know?? anyway, i had to take my computer to the repair guy and leave it all day. then at 600 when i tried to check in with you all, my internet connection was down. boo hoo. so now its after 800 my time and i feel stressed. had a good day with food but no exercise. argh.

now time for some individuals:

sue-glad your scope and biopsy was ok. good for you. it helps to get that stress off the shoulders.
RK-glad pap was ok. ill be worried until i get my results back.
Susan-in WV, the custodial parent has the right to 33% of the non custodials GROSS income. he should be lucky hes not here.
Jen-i think you giving your kitties treats everynight is just soooo cute. they are so lucky.
Johanne-sorry that you are in a bad realationship. i know from personal experience, that is tough. my husband wks out of state all wk and that puts a huge strain on the relationship. when he is home, i feel like we dont get along. i always blame it on him being so much older than me. he tries to be my dad. ya know. anyway, hope things improve on your end. ill be thinking of you.

tj

Mom2Gaby 08-05-2004 08:20 PM

omg Jana........what would I do without stressing about weight??

enjoy life perhapes?? lol........I will try and not stress and jump on that scale as often.

Yummy, peaches. I didn't buy any this morning- darn. Too tired to walk up to Freddies.

Hi Carree!!

Hi Angie :).......miss you. I am reading a book called Weight Loss Diaries by Courtney Rubin.

As far as the child support thing goes,.......I guess we will have to get into a tizzy......lol
The order is for 298 a month. It use to be 400 when he worked as a long haul driver.
I am owed now over 3000 backpay.
If a "modification" is going on I can't do anything. Otherwise he has to miss 3 months in paying childsupport before I can go in and complain. The most they will do is slap his wrist, maybe take away his drivers license,,......long procedure.
Though he has been paying less then he should????? for the last 3 months, does that count for anything???

Also...........he doesn't file taxes that I know of.....the usual for him is work under the table until he gets caught and is forced to pay....quit and move on.
His unemployment is from 3 years ago...for some odd reason.

btw- he does have another daughter that Gabster has to share her CS with,,,,,so she gets the same 50 a week.

Anyway,,,,,,,,this is all hashed out in counseling.I have had a lot of resentment having to care for Gabster on my own these last 28 odd months.
I told him in counseling that when I wasn't working it was me putting a diaper on Gaby in the morning not knowing where the next when was going to come from............it was really a growing time and trusting in God,and all her needs were met......so,just plugging along.

OMG!! I just got approved on a trial bases to change my shift on Wednesdays so I get the evening off!!! YAY- get to attend Wednesday church services with the girls :)....yay-yay-yay...........so happy!!!!

Dinner break!! YAY - lol

ttfn :)

Marti 08-05-2004 09:10 PM

Evening ladies--

James is out visiting a friend in the living room so I thought I would take the time to sneak in here and see how you are all doing! Very chatty today!!

We're thinking of eating out tonight....(would be nice not to have to cook...don't mind the cooking, just don't like to clean up afterwards!) :D

I will try to make it back here around 7 for chat.

James and I did some running around this morning.....stopped at Ben Franklins and bought me a stencil type thing to make folded cuts?...diamond cuts? Not exactly sure what you call them, so I've been experimenting with that. Should look pretty once I get it figured out!

We also went Michaels.....OMG....I wanted to just buy out the store! They're putting up some Halloween stuff and I just felt like a little kid in a candy store!! It's early for the holiday stuff....but I love it!! Fall is my FAVORITE time of year!!

OH......being hollored at! I will try and be back here around 7:00 for chat.....

Marti

tommysgirl18 08-06-2004 08:38 AM

hello ladies....

My name is Mindee, and Jana told me to come and join the chit chat area.

I am going to be 22 in 11 days (on 8/17). I have been married to my wonderful hubby, Tommy, who is going to be 28 in January. We have an adorable little boy, whose name is Brandon, and he will be 4 months old on 8/23.

All my weights and what not are listed in my siggy.

I think that about covers it. All the rest of my info is filled out on the biography page. So feel free to take a peak at it, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Jane 08-06-2004 08:47 AM

Good morning Ladies,

Shanna - sorry you had to leave chat early. You were missed!

Carree - good to see you! Happy Birthday to you! :balloons: :cp: :gift: You'll have to tell us what you've been up to this summer.

Angie - glad Tanner is okay. Your family's antics always make me smile - there's always something going on, lol.

TJ - hope your new pills will help your depression. I know what you mean about a computer that is on the fritz... I freak when mine's down!

Susan - is your book fiction? Sounds interesting. Glad you have Wednesday evenings off to be with the girls. I look back to when I was a sinlge mom, and marvel at how I got by! God truly looks out for single moms, wouldn't you agree? Faith and prayer still get me through the day.

Marti - I'm interested in the folded cut stencil... not sure what that is. When you use it, post a pic, ok?

Cristi, Jen, Sue, RosieKate - hi and I hope you are having a good day.

Chat last night was fun! I think that's the most JLs at one time when I was there. Hopefully the group will grow each week.

Not sure what I'm doing today. Have to either run the sweeper or get out the rake, lol. My dogs are still shedding like crazy, and even though they get brushed, the dog hair is taking over! Pets are a lot of trouble, but worth it.

BBL,

Jane 08-06-2004 08:50 AM

It's so great to see so many people posting here...I have a hard time keeping up...just not enough time to address everyone in the short time I have to post...but I'll try to get back later...I ALWAYS try to get back later

I think I need a new scale...mine said I gained 5 pounds, like, overnight..and i've been staying OP. Think i'm going to stay away from that thing for a few days

I hear DD getting up, so better be going...will try to address individuals later

Hi &Good Morning Ladies~

First I have to say WELCOME Mindee! Nice to have ya here and lookin gforward to getting to know you.

And a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Carree! :hb:

Sorry this is just a quickie, will do individuals later. I got up early this morning and did a walk on the treadmill and a bike ride-feel good about that. Now eating breakfast as I am typing. Need to get in the shower and off to get DD some reading glasses and then to physical therapy so I will be gone most of the day-I think. Anyway...

Everyone have a good day. I will be back later to chat.

Dolphin 08-06-2004 11:16 AM

Good morning! Working on finishing my pot of coffee, figured I'd pop in here and post. :coffee:

Ok, listening to the news in the background. Something weird is going on. Either people are getting desperate because of the economy/unemployment or they are just feeding on the publicity. But there were 2 more bank robberies yesterday, in different towns. One kid, 17, was arrested. Plus 3 on Wednesday. Actually, there have been 9 in the past 2 weeks. And it sounds like they are all different people. The 3 on Wed were all within 45 minutes of each other! What is going on???? I'm scared to go to a bank and get my own money! :yikes:

It's nice to be home during the day today. I am working a shift with a client this evening, we are going to the fair, to see Journey. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it! Especially after yesterday, I need a break. I'm also getting a haircut this afternoon. Not sure exactly what I'm getting done, but I need some style. It's long, one length, and very thick. Probably some inches off and some layers to lighten it up.

Well, I'm going to get busy, laundry and some cleaning so I can relax and goof around some tomorrow!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARREE!! :balloons:

WELCOME MINDEE!!

Jen

tommysgirl18 08-06-2004 11:18 AM

Jen~ Thanks for the welcome!

Carree~ Happy birthday!!

FrouFrou 08-06-2004 02:32 PM

I'm baaaaaack...

but just for a few minutes again, not enough time to do individuals.

Went to Lenscrafters to get DD glasses. They are cute! I wish I could wear some of the cute styles they have but they just don't look so great on me. she got some with the black frame-they look good. Had planned on getting a haircut while there but once we got the glasses picked out and went to spend a little over an hour in the mall (so we didn't have to come back later) went around the corner where I usually get my hair done and they are remodeling the place, darn! Next is physical therapy for my arm, not sure how long that is going to take but won't be on the computer till later this evening and will post more then. Take care all.

Hope you all are having a fun friday! :)

tjmarco 08-06-2004 03:40 PM

Mom2Gaby 08-06-2004 04:35 PM

Afternoon,

Sneaking on the puter before I really have to buck down and get some work done.

Welcome Mindee!! I read your bio. You sound like a sweet young lady ( hey, I am 40.....everyone is getting younger!! lol). I lost 110 pounds several years ago and I think being a mother gave me a lot of motivation to live a healthier lifestyle. It was frustrating not being able to have the energy level I needed to keep up with little ones. Just blabbering.
Just welcome and I hope you enjoy your time here :)

Jana- It is a Biography. I think the author is young and works for People magazine. At least that is what I got from the backside. I am only in the first chapter. Struggle to find the time to read.

mmmmm, no CS in the mail. He said he mailed something Wednesday and $20 yesterday. Certainly doesn't take this long. Trying not to get PO'ld.....is that a word??? It is now.........lol
argh.........trust comes with time. trust comes with truth.....he isn't going to get my trust unless he ships shapes up.....

Anyway, MercyMe & Michael W. Smith in PDX tonight - wish I could have gone. Love that "I can only imagine " song.....

best get!!!!

HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To you all

tjmarco 08-06-2004 07:27 PM

hey ladies-
i started a new thread called exercise motivation. i hope you all like it. just thought id pop in here and bring it to your attention so it wouldnt get overlooked. i dont know about everyone else, but sometimes, i am just trying to get to the chit chat line and forget to see if anything new has been added. ---mommy moment---lol

tj

Jane 08-06-2004 07:47 PM

Hi Ladies,

RK - if you still can't find your cervix, maybe Angie could be called in on the case... she has connections! Just as long as there's no undercover work involved. Or you could place an ad in the Lost and Found....

Cristi - I walked on my treadmill this morning, too. I usually do that in the evening before my shower, but wanted to get it out of the way. Hope your arm is feeling better. About the glasses - who says they don't look good on you? Could it be that you just aren't used to the style? You are very pretty, and I think most glasses would look good on you!

Jen - if I were you, I'd be doing my banking at the drive-through, lol. I'd love to see Journey! Can I tag along?? How's the new hair style?

TJ - the chat is at 10:00 PM your time on Thursdays. Sheesh, that's kinda late for you ... we could always start earlier. We Indiana ones were the furthest east until now. Just let us know how that works for you, ok, and we'll work something out? All Jaded Ladies are invited! When you get there, go to the Jaded Ladies sub-room, ok?

Marti - hope you've been having fun with James. When will he be back again? What did he think of the scrapbook pages you've done? I bet he's impressed.

Susan - hmmm... maybe you'll get your CS tomorrow. Sweetie, I'M the old one... never even heard of the bands you mentioned. I knew a Mike Smith in high school - does that count, lol.

Well, ladies, I had a fender bender with Neal's 2001 Dodge Ram extended cab truck today. He took my van to put gas in it, and so I took his truck. Some &^%$# in the parking lot of Wal-Mart was closing his door while I pulled into the parking space next to him, then let his door fly open, and I hit it. (crunch) The cop said it was my fault, since the guy's vehicle wasn't running, and mine was. It showed I didn't have complete control of my vehicle, he said. :o But I didn't get a ticket, so that's good. Then my insurance company calls and says "you might want to pay this claim yourselves, because if we do, you will lose your safe driver discount." I conferred with Neal and then told her to pay it with all the premuim money we have sent. Can you believe it!!

Neal was real sweet about it, asking only if I was okay. But I feel bad for hurting his truck! My BIL is a body man, so he can get the dent out of it for us.

Well, that's my big news of the day, lol. What's everyone else been up to?

RosieKate 08-06-2004 08:32 PM

I'm back!

My day has gone alright. I woke up way too early, so I was really pooped by around 2. I had grand plans to drop James off at fencing camp, then get a walk in with my daughter before meeting up with other parents of her incoming preschool class to play at Gabriel Park. The weather was NOT cooperating - lots of off and on rain today. I canceled on the park playdate, and worked out at home. At least got in some cardio on the stepper. I have some stretches I am supposed to do for my shoulder, but, man, it is hurting! I am taking 3 alleve a day and icing it down. I have another PT on Monday so hopefully I'll get some massage therapy out of this. I'm trying to figure out a way to convince the therapist that this shoulder injury has somehow managed to affect my lower back, so I can get that massaged, too ;)

TJ - I posted over on the exercise thread you started, I think it is a great idea. I sometimes use videos at home, so I like to know what others are using. Of course, I am always willing to share what i am doing ( or bellyache about what I am not doing, lol)

Jana - so sorry to hear about the fender bender. I hate that kind of stuff, even when it is covered by insurance. It's a major disruption - to me at least. My DH and I were involved in a car accident in '92 that totaled our car. we weren't seriously hurt, thank goodness and it was ruled not our fault. Then my dh was rearended 5 weeks later by an uninsured driver. The ensuing insurance entanglements and lawsuits and whatnot were yucky and I never want to do it again.

Susan - hope the CS thing gets resolved soon...what a pain. Jana has a point - if he's filing tax returns, that ought to mean something. If he's getting paid under the table, that has to be supremely frustrating. I'm so glad you will be able to go to church on Wednesdays - that ought to cheer you up. I've had alot of emotional things to deal with this summer, but I go to church on Sunday and pray and learn a lesson and somehow it all gets put into perspective.

Welcome Mindee!
Happy Birthday, Carree

Hi to everyone else!

BTW - my cervix says hi - hee hee It is not very happy with me however for subjecting it ( her?) to incompetent medical professionals ;)

Marti 08-06-2004 08:37 PM

Hi there girls--

James has just left for Portland so here I am.....not sure when I'll see him. It sure was nice to have the three days with him!!!

Now for my individuals!!

Angie--Is Chapters a book store? I haven't tried our book stores yet...I do have a coupon and so I may check it out. But I would love to read it while I find it....would Monte mind me borrowing it? I really would like to hang out with you on one of your stakeouts!! Just to watch you in action. Do you still dress up to disguise yourself??? Next time you do, get a picture done!!

Mindee--Once again--Welcome!! Hope you enjoy our little area!!

Jana--I will take a photo of what I did last night. I just played around with the stencil on a piece of paper to see how they looked. So I will post that so you have an idea of what I'm talking about! Sure does look purdy!!! So sorry to hear about your fender bender!! I can't believe they laid the blame on you! Who cares whose car was running! People should pay attention to whats going on around them! Glad that Neal was supportive and cared more about you then the car!

RK--The woman with the missing cervix!! What was your doctor thinking?? Now from one of my pass exams (soon after my son was born.....so that was quite some time!) I was all ready for the awful experiece....hated the process...well the midwife I had was getting ready to insert the "jaws of life" as I call it....and when she had it in place and was locking it.....what do you know, the darn thing sprang out and shot across the floor. :o Now....how embarassing is that????? I was only about 18 and man was my face red!! I just gave her this look like "was that suppose to happen?" It was horrible.

Cristi--I think you'd look adorable in any pair of glasses you get! I'm starting to think that I may need some reading glasses. My whole family wears them, so I am a little surprised that I haven't had them yet! Even Jhanai has a pair which can be a task to have her remember to wear them. But if you're looking for a new frame...try them all on and get someone elses opinion on them besides just your own. Sometimes we are just too judgemental on how we look. (And I bet you look adorable in any frame!!)

Susan--What does PDX stand for? I know it has something to do with Portland, but that is all I can think of. So clue me in!! James is heading up your way. Will be staying at the Residence Inn near the Lloyd Center. And this time he's taking his truck up so he's not without a vehicle to go places. And when he travels down south his truck will stay up there, and I will pick him up in Eugene....then he'll take the ugly yellow beast to the Eugene area and park it there so he won't have to have me pick him up. (did all that make sense?) Anyway....say hi to him when you see him! :D

Hello to the rest of you girls!

Well I'm going to take a picture of the cuts I made and get it on here for Jana to see. You may like it enough to go out and buy one yourself. (only $4) pretty cheap.

BBL

Marti

Marti 08-06-2004 08:38 PM

   Oh RK---hello to your cervix!!!

carree 08-06-2004 08:44 PM

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes!

Jana, Susan Christi and Jen,

Thanks so much for the Birthday wishes. I can't believe I'm 57! The latest with me this summer is that I am now on bioidentical hormones. Exactly one month today. I feel so much better! I haven't really slept well for about 10 years. I have slept through the night with the very first pill. You gals are probably all too young to know about most of this stuff yet. But I am so glad that when your time comes, there is help. You don't have to suffer needlessly.

Love,
carree

Mom2Gaby 08-06-2004 09:18 PM

Personally I am not saying hello to anyones cervix, yuk! lol

PDX means Portland as far as I know, Marti. lol I will meet James!! Does he have any RR men pals?? Anyone in their 40's???

RK- he doesn't file taxes. I don't think he is THAT responsible. lol We''ll see what happens tomorrow. I hate to connect him seeing Gaby with $$ but it makes me just want to not let her go with him.

Anyway- I am sipping a diet pepsi. I had a bag of popcorn. Been chatting with a cable man for a week now.He is sweet............*rolling eyes* funny as heck. I don't know what he looks like though. .......minor details. He is a blonde Italian!! I never heard of such a thing, lives in Sherwood......isn't that where Robin Hood lived?? lol
He is suppsoe to call tonight, second phone conversation.........

I guess that is it. Basketball camp starts next week for the girls. Gabster is a hoot...............love my job! Finished 6 pages in my book, plugging along.

ttfn :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARREE :)

FrouFrou 08-06-2004 10:44 PM

Hello Ladies~

Carree~glad to see ya checking in and hope you had a great birthday.

Jana~you are too kind. I know I am too critical of myself. I had decided last night to start getting the walking in early that way I wouldn't have to worry about it the rest of the day. Doesn't always happen that way but I am planning on it. Sorry about your fender bender and glad Neal took it well, and of course you weren't hurt. My arm is better-the therapist is a good thing although when I left there I was in more pain-ouch! I have some exercises I need to do over the weekend and see her three times next week-we'll see how that goes.

RosieKate~Sorry to hear about the 5 lbs.-certainly it can't be right! I know I had that happen to me one time with my scales, they were so goofy. I finally had to go buy some new ones. Hope your arm gets better.

Susan~you are silly :) I do hope you get the CS soon. Glad you got your scheduled changed even if it is on a trial basis. Cable man huh?! ;)

Jen~maybe it's the heat bringing out the bank robbers?! Think we were on the same track with getting a haircut, except that I didn't-bummer. I too want layers. Hope you got a new do and are having fun at the fair.

Angie~glad to hear Tanner is fine and it is not a hernia.

TJ~I will check out your thread as soon as I am done here. I can always use some motivation. Oh, when I say I will be back to Chat I mean to post. I have yet to go to the Chat Room-meant to last night and of course I forgot.

Jo~sorry to hear about you and DH. Hope things get better for you two. I can relate to DH not being home a lot-#1 DH worked A LOT which was hard in the beginning especially when the kids were small-he missed so much, and #2 works A LOT most of the time. I think I got used to it in the first marriage that it doesn't bother me as much now. I always seem to find something to do, sure get a lot of reading done and sometimes I actually enjoy my alone time. Anyway, I hope things get better for you. :grouphug:

Marti~going to have to go check out what you are talking about. The only person who wears glasses in my family is my dad and here me and the kids wear glasses, except DD's is just for reading. My eyes aren't bad and I can see without glasses but really need them to read. I wish I could say I look adorable in any frames but it just isn't true-or it could just be me. As I said to Jana, i do think I am too critical of myself.

So what is everyone up to for the weekend?

Me, I am sticking around the house I think. I say I think because V doesn't have to work the weekend and I am not sure if he want's to do anything. I do know I am going to give myself a manicure and pedicure and do some much needed scrapbooking. DD's stuff is still sitting on the table. Take care ladies, see ya tomorrow sometime.

Hi there girls...

James called me to get some info on the computer so I thought that since I'm on I'd go see how you're all doing.

I was flipping through channels when I came upon the Discovery Channel and it was about Face Transplants.....curiosity got to me so I checked it out. I was in for a surprise......this poor little girl (she was 9) got her (I think her hair...I turned it on after it already started) into a converyor belt and it just ripped her whole face off! I mean the whole FACE!! They even showed the picture of her poor face sitting on the table before surgery!! OMG...I wanted to turn the channel. But I didn't...wanted to know if they got it back on for her. They did! I was amazed. Her face had ripped off like a mask. But...that is all I watched...couldn't sit through a whole show like that. Too sad....and get's to me.

Cristi--The scrapbooking thing I just posted....actually didn't take long at all. I believe cutting all the leaves for Jhanai's page took longer!! It was fun and I will definately post a photo when I figure out how I want to incorporate into a page. As for glasses...I'm thinking I better go see how my eyes are doing....it really does get to me when I'm reading when all of a sudden things start to look blurry....(I always blame it on reading to long!!!) James tells me I look cute in glasses....hmmmm....should I put on a school girl outfit too when I have to get them??

My weekend will consist of reading and scrapbooking. I have only gotten into a few chapters in the Sue Grafton book "D is for Deadbeat".....really want to see what happens next!!

For all the scrapbookers...I sure wish we could all get together and do a day of scrapbooking and chatting!! That would be fun. Get some idea's from each other. New techniques.......

Oh...I'm starting to ramble. I better get ready to watch my show. The Jury. It's the season finale (already!) So I will check in later tonight or in the morning!

Take Care!!

Tj~ Thanks for the welcome!

Marti~ Thanks again!

Susan~ Thanks for the welcome! Thanks…that gives me even more motivation as well as inspiration!

RK~ Thanks for the welcome!

As far as what we are doing this weekend, I am not sure. I am hoping that our friend comes over so that we can get a little further on her wedding plans, since she is getting married in May and only has her church, reception site, wedding party, and her photographer (no deposit yet) so far.

tjmarco 08-07-2004 07:43 AM

good sat morn ladies--

my DH decided to work in VA last night so he wont be home til this afternoon. he will still leave tom evening to go back. hes trying to earn extra money to buy a camper to live in down there. right now he is living in his friends camper and the friend wants it back. argh!!! he has 4 grown children who live on their own but they all have kids and he doesnt want to listen to kids scream all evening. his 5th son that lives down there lives with the mother. DH says thats not an option LOL. guess **** figure it out. right??

Good morning ladies!!

RK - hope you don't suffer too much with your shoulder until Monday. Aleve is pretty good stuff. I buy the generic and like it, although I don't take meds much.

Marti - loved your stencil cut outs. Maybe I'll get more in the mood once fall weather is here. Right now I like to be outdoors a lot.

Carree - hope you had a good B/D and glad you feel better.

Susan - so, is the cable guy's name Larry? LOL! What would we do if we couldn't live vicariously through you??

Cristi - you and RK should get together for your PT, lol. I've got to do a manicure and pedicure for the wedding I'm going to this evening. Usually I wear clear nail polish on my fingernails, but not today!

Mindee - are you in the wedding? Is this going to be a huge affair? Surely she can get things done between now and May?

TJ - glad the chat time will work for you! Nope, not a good idea for DH to bunk with the XW, lol.

Hi to the others.

I lost 1/2 pound today, and I'm not complaining, mind you, but since I stayed POP all week, did my exercises and drank all the wadder, I was hoping for more. Soooooo .... it's time for me to lower my point range again. Actually should have already done that!

The wedding tonight will give Neal and me a chance to dance, so I'm wearing a dress to look like a girl. I had trouble finding a dress (with sleeves) that I like... this one is kind of dark, (dark grey with amythest, and pearl buttons) but it is feminine, and I am comfortable in it. The bride and I have been friends since we were 9, so I am especially glad to witness this. She has been married before, but never had a big wedding.

Gotta run! Have a good day!

FrouFrou 08-07-2004 12:49 PM

Morning ladies~

Jana~congrat's on the 1/2 pound-hey something is better than nothing right?! But I totally understand being OP and not losing much. I am kind of leary about WI on Monday. Hope you have a fun time at the wedding.

Marti~that would be alot of fun wouldn't it? Getting together to scrapbook-too bad we all don't live closer to one another.

TJ~definitely not a good idea for hubby to stay with the ex! Hope you have a good day.

Not much going on here in my neck of the woods. Going to do a little bit of yard work, a couple loads of laundry, some reading and definitely some scrapbooking done today. Trying to keep busy to keep my mind off DS leaving. He had to go to KC today to start training someone. He is a manager at a conv. store and anytime they need to train someone he does it. But they usually come to his store. Anyway, he will be gone till next Friday and me being the worry wart that I am...I am going to be a mess when they move out. Anyway...

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Marti 08-07-2004 01:41 PM

Morning girls-- :coffee:

I've been tinkering around the house since I've been up. Not much planned for the day. I do need to clean up the house and do some laundry!! Oh what fun!! :dizzy:

Jo--I must have missed your post somehow...I am sorry to hear about you and your husband going through a tough time. It is always difficult when you spend a lot of time away from each other. I really wish I had the right words to comfort you, just know that each and everyone of us girls here are here for you when you need to talk, ok?

Susan--James does have some RR buddies...some in their 40's...but married. Sorry. But you know, if you were to meet any if them....you'd probably see them more than I see James!!

Tj--I just started watching Big Brother a couple weeks ago. I was trying to find out what day "Amazing Race" is on and that happened to be on....I still have no idea what the show is about so it's not one that I "GOT" to see....but the "Amazing Race" really caught my eye! I keep telling James that we need to sign up for that!! It would be so cool to travel while competing!!

Jana--
1/2lb is 1/2 a lb!! It all adds up!! So congratulations!!! I'm not going to WI this week due to TOM being here. So next weekend. I always feel so bloated and icky around TOM and the idea of stepping on a scale just doesn't appeal to me!!

Cristi--Since you're in the process of doing your laundry and all.....mind if I drop mine off at your place?? It sure would take a load off my shoulders! :D My plans for the day sound similar to yours...get the house straightened up, do laundry and then off to scrapbooking. Or maybe grab a book and sit out on the swing....not sure. But housework first!

Morning to the rest of you girls!

I better at least get dressed for the day.

I will check in later

Good evening ladies,
Jo, one of the hardest jobs is being a parent, the other is making a marriage work.
Two my closest friends are working on divorces, then I have a dear friend who after something liek 20 yrs is talking to her ex about getting back together.
TJ, about 8 years ago I was on antidepressants, what I went threw before the meds was a nightmare and gladly did what I had to to get my life back. I did gain alot of weight, with one kinda and with some research changed it and leveled out the weight gain.
Jana, sorry about the fender bender, as long as no one got hurt all is well. Thats crazy that this guy doesn't have to own up to responsibility of causing the accident in the first place.
Hope you are having a great time at the dance....
Cristi, I have had the same pair of glasses for about 4 years, I only wear them first thing in the morning and night time. I wear contacts the rest of the time.
Susan, did I miss something? Cable guy?
Marti, I doubt Monte would mind you reading his book...lol It should be arrving my mail to our house sometime this week,,,then we go on our holiday, which is when I hope he takes the time to read and relax.
I am not going under cover to find no cervix....there is a place where I draw the line,,,that is one place...and its in permenent marker...lol
I had to work on the case a few times this week, with football practise every night and then working till the late nights of 1-2 am then working at the office at 8 I am tired! WAHHH
I went out with the girls last night,,,so much fun,,,we went to Kelsey's Not sure if thats Canadian. Anyways had girly drinks with lots of whipped cream and sprinkles..ya alcohol drinks..lol
Then we went shopping for makeup,,,I showed Becky how to apply makeup and not look like shes wearing any more or less...lol Just enhanced the beauty. The fun thou!
Slept alot today,,,then took the boys to the cheap theatre to see DodgeBall...ok I guess Im crazy but that kind of movie just cracks me up...cheap entertainment. No thought just stupid humour. I guess spending the last few nights watching drug deals and hookers in action makes me want stupid humour...lol
Football practise is going well, Im getting along with the other parents...lol Funny eh? I should get a t shirt that says doesn't play well with others...lol
Becky and Angelika come over and hang out with me,,,which is great.
Anywho Monte and I are going to the casino...wahoo big money here I come,,,lol Im going to play the nickel slots...HEy Big Spender...lol
Later
Angie

Hope everyone had a very nice Sat. It was beautiful weather for us here in IN again. I tried to be a "good girl" all day. Went to an anniversary party for my ex in-laws and my ex was there. Sooo, I was good, for the sake of my daughters who did alot to put on the party. Actually, after all these years, there are no feelings there or any reason to not be good. :) My husband is, however, a saint because he went with me.
Came home and had veggie soup for dinner and walked 2 miles. For some reason I feel like I did nothing but eat today, when in truth I only had a few vegetables and crackers and a tiny piece of cake at the party. I had only 1 piece of wheat toast for breakfast and a tomato for lunch. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
Made myself a pair of pj bottoms this morning. I have made so many of these for the granddaughters and daughters that I can almost sew them in my sleep. LOL. This was the first pair for myself.
RK..All this cervix talk was so funny to me. When I had my hysterectomy they left my cervix. My new Dr. read my medical history and said "why did they leave your cervix?" and I didn't know. Then he gets me up there for the exam and the nurse comes in...he loudly says "yep, you have a cervix alright." So last month I go to the gastroenterologist and HE reads my medical history..then he is going to do an exam and HE says "yep, I feel your cervix." I was like ..what the heck? have they never felt or seen a cervix before? Made me feel like I was a freak or something. :)

I really enjoyed chat the other night and forgot to mention it...

suetalks....and talks and talks...

Mom2Gaby 08-08-2004 12:54 AM

This computer is going to kick me off in 15 minutes so I need to hurry.

We are having a slumber party!! YAY we have pizza, brownies, and wadder melon.....$7 dollar whadder melon. Does that seem like lot of $$ , it is to me.
Or was it because it was a BIG melon?? lol

YAY on 1/2 a pound Jana!! You are really looking so pretty. So proud of you!! sniff, sniff.....you really should be my older sisiter though. You are way too young to be a mother!!

omg!! Angie. I walked the girls down to Saturday Market and thought of you! I saw the elephant ear booth and remembered how you ate so many of them on your visit to PDX 4 years ago!! lol Naw, I think you only ate 1......but I did think of you and Brian because when he came for a visit he went there also.....

Cable Man is a man that I met on line at a Christian Site, same as Plumber Man, aka Les Is No More......
Cable Man though is sweet and I am sure has no "possible" pregnant ex's.....lol.....
He is 42, 2 children, 8 years divorce. He attends a church close by that does joint ventures with my churches singles group and he has been to my church. The next joint venture is later this month and we might meet there, though I would prefer earlier in a more quiet setting....
Anyway, he works for the cable company - was in the Air Force before that and he is super, super funny.

Oh- CS...........came in a state check for 50 Nothing from the money orders Mike said he had sent last Wednesday.

I guess that is it. I better get back to the party and I am going to get kicked off!!

Weighed in at 146, so that is a relief, though a pain........a painful relief....lol

blah- blah- best get........

Susan

da fat n da furious 08-08-2004 01:59 AM

ok so I am now 10 bucks poorer...them nickel slots are hard to understand,,,plus all the smoke in there made me feel sick. Came home and changed clothes right away.
Susan I think I had 2 of them but can't be sure it was such a wild weekend...it was the weekend right?

my funny exam story is,,,my Dr. was warming up the jaws of life in the sink,,,with hot water! And no he didn't check to see if it was too warm,,,(could of tapped it on his writst like checking a baby bottle...lol) anyways he inserts and I literally jumped off the table, pulling it out and yelling wooooooo I don't know who was more red,,,him or me...lol
Angie

Jane 08-08-2004 08:27 AM

Good morning Ladies,

Cristi - I know I'll worry about my kids til the day I die, lol. Is the company paying for a hotel room for him?

Marti - when Jhanai gets a little older, you can pay her to do housework like I do Katie, lol. She always needs gas money, so it works out well for both of us. The older I get, the less I want to cook and clean.

Angie - it's 7am and because of you, I have awakened my fam with my laughter! Your comments about the cervix, undercover and the permanent marker had me rolling in the floor!!!

Sue - what about a pj top? Hubba, hubba. I just got out my box of patterns to find a vest one... I want to make a brocade one with teal and black to wear to church, etc.

Susan - yep, even where you live, 7 bucks is too high for a melon. And to think I have them 50 feet out my back door... they have already harvested about 4000-5000 of them, but there're still some out there... No, you can't call him the Cable Man, it has to be the Cable Guy. Don't you watch Comedy Central and laugh at Larry the Cable Guy? Anyhoo, glad he has a good sense of humor, that is a necessity to me. Btw, next time you go to counseling w/Mike, mention to the therapist what a big ol' liar he is! No wonder you have issues! PS, yay for the weigh in!!!!

Hi to Shanna, RosieKate, Jen, TJ, Heather, Mindee, and anyone I forgot. Hope you're having a great weekend. Katiecat, I wish you would post again.... we miss you.

Well, the wedding was just beautiful. This is the same woman who lost her brother 2 weeks ago, and she cried about that, but all in all, she looked radiant. I did real well with the food, and spent my time focusing on the people I hadn't seen for awhile, and dancing with Neal.

The whole family's coming for dinner today and I'm glad of that. We'll play in the yard with the grandkids and soak up the fresh air.

What are you going to do today?
