  • Hey girls!!!

I guess I'm of the frame of mind that I don't really care who knows that I take diet meds. lol I never was ashamed of it I suppose because I wouldn't be as successful without the meds. My doctor is absolutely amazed at my success thus far and it wouldn't be near as good without it . Don't be ashamed girls HELLLOOOO WORLDDDD I'M MICHELLE AND I TAKE THE PRESCRIPTION WEIGHT LOSS DRUG CALLED MERIDIA!!!
lol ok I got it out of my system.

My day went well, just kinda hung out at home this afternoon. We did go to the Library and Taylor picked out some books and I got 3 Tammy Hoag books she writes murder mystery Spryng if you want to check out some of her stuff. Also I recommend "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold, a very very good book! There is also "The Diary of a Mad Mom to be" Sooo funny!!!

Dinner tonight I had some turkey chili, and lunch was Lean Cuisine Lasagna and chicken breast, and breakfast was bran flakes with a banana. So I did good
Tomorrow I'd like to get in an hour long bike ride so I'm hoping I have the stamina for it

The clothing swap sounds good but it seems as if most of you have little boys lol and I only have girls. I gave a lot of my girls clothes to goodwill this year 3 huge garbage bags full!!

Well I'm gonna head to bed I'll be up bright in early tomorrow to chat with ya'll!!!

Hi all. This is my first time on the website and i'm also looking for a support system to help me lose weight.I'm not overweight yet but if I don't control my eating alot better i'm going to explode one day.Anyhow I have a question to anyone who may have the answer and I hope I'm not being to blunt.
If anyone knows how to control their eating during the craving days of the monthly period I would greatly appreciate any advice.I do really well with my eating until that time of the month and then it seems like all the exercise and watching what I eat goes down the drain.Plus i've also quit smoking now for about 2 months and believe it or not its going alot better than I thought it would go.It seems like I have everything under control until its time for the cycle to show up again. So any imformation on that would be greatly usful for me.Thanks for taking the time to read this. :

In case ya'll want to know alittle about me I've got 3girls ages 8,7,and soon to be 5 and I also have an 8 year old son.I'm a stay at home mom that trys to stay busy.
I'm 6ft tall and weigh about 170 but i'm looking to lose 15 pounds of fat or turn it into muscle either one would be fine with me.hopefully if anyone can help me with this little problem I have I'll be about to get to my goal.
Well good luck to all.Everyone seems to be doing good keep up the work.
I've lost about 10 pounds in 2 months now i'm stuck and don't know what to do to get off my plato.Well I hope I have'nt wasted anyones time.Everyone have a nice day.
  • Hi Angel and welcome!!! How many kids do you have? Where do you live? Are you on an eating plan now? How bout exercise? Also what are your stats, height and weight? Sorry just curious lol. Just don't keep the bad stuff in your house it makes it a lot easier to fight the cravings if you have healthy snacks around
I hope you enjoy it here

Nevermind all the questions you came back and edited lol.

  • Michelle,
I am sorry if I offended you with my comment about the weight loss medications. I know that you take medication but I do not think your great success is contributed to your weight loss medications. I know you are doing wonderful!

I think every case is different. And I don't look down upon you for taking meds. You have had a hard time with your health. And I believe in my heart that what you are doing is the right thing for you. HUGS TO YOU!

And again I hope I didn't offend you or anyone here.

Please let me know if I did. I don't want anyone to ever not be honest here. We are all here as a support system and that is what I believe it should be!

    BTW,
Welcome Angel! Hope you like it here!
  • Noooooo girly!!!! I wasn't offended at all!!! I was just saying that none of you should be ashamed of anything that you may or may not try No worries
Big dork I can't believe you though I was offended!!! I'm gonna have to kick your butt for that one jk You know I love ya!!!
  • Good evening all!

I stayed up much later than I need to but I wanted to post one more time before I call it a night. Today was a bust in the housecleaning area and exercise area (sorry Cindi!) I'm just drained tonight. I knew I should have worked out during nap time but I didn't. O-well... someday I'll make it a habit. I'm a work in progress, lol.
I did end up watching The Butterfly Effect tonight and I thought it was really good and intriguing. I heard bad reviews about the movie right after it came out so I wasn't sure how I would like it but I thought it was good. Definitely worth watching at least once. Then Big Brother came on, I am the only one who watched it?? Looks like it will be an interesting season. And I watched part of The Amazing Race, now I never watched the other seasons of that show so I don't really know the concept behind it but it has Allison (the girl everyone hated from the last big brother) and her boyfriend Donny in it so I wanted to see them. But I thought the show was good and will probably keep up with it now. So my evening was nothing but TV! LOL... boring huh? So that means since I didn't do much of anything today I have double work to do tomorrow. But that is ok, it shouldn't take me but an hour and a 1/2 to complete it all.

Penny, I don't think you offended anyone here about the weight loss pills comment. I think there is nothing wrong with them, my dh gave me a hard time when I first told him I wanted to try some to break my plateau but when I told him I was only going to try one bottle and change nothing about my diet or anything he saw I wasn't using them as a crutch but as a compliment to ww. And it worked so I don't regret it at all.

Welcome Angel! I am Spryng (pronounced spring) and I have 3 kids, ages 4,3, and 1. Are your 8 yo's twins??? I think it is great that you are working on your weight and lean muscle now before it gets out of hand. I'm sure most of us wish we had did that way back when... but here we all are. LOL. I think during TOM it's really hard to fight cravings. Drinking extra water might help but what I find helps me is to give in to my cravings just a little. I mean if you are craving chocolate cake don't go buy or make one and sit and eat piece after piece but maybe just a small sliver of a piece or buy some sugar free chocolate that are low in calories, I think you get what I am saying. Find a healthy way to include those cravings without blowing your diet. And I was stuck on a plateau for 9 weeks so I feel your frustration. I broke mine by changing my exercise up a little (going from none to a little, lol) and I used some hydroxycut... but I would try more exercise first or if you are already working out alot then maybe you need to eat more. I think some people don't realize that our bodies are like cars, they can't get anywhere without gas or food in our case, so when you work out alot you need extra fuel to compensate. Just a thought. But I look forward to getting to know you better!

Michelle, thanks so much for those book recommendations! What is The Lovely Bones about? Sounds interesting.

Geri, it sounds like you are getting back OP, and as long as we do a little better than the day before we are headed in the right direction! You are doing great and you'll find your groove again. When I was first potty training Ava she would sit on the toilet and not do anything either, it actually took bribing to get her to go pee, lol. She wanted to wear some lipstick so we said that if she would go pee in her potty that she could have some, well she ran straight over there and peed and never had a problem after that! LOL. So maybe you can keep that in mind. Maybe go pick out a nice toy or something he's been wanting and buy it and put it aside and use it as leverage, lol.

Melissa, you are too sweet about those clothes! Do you have a paypal account because I can send the shipping money that way also. Just let me know ok? PM me with all the money and shipping details. And your pizza sounded sooooo good tonight! I don't think I would have been able to stop at one slice either! Pizza is a downfall for me too. My kids loved Brother Bear! We took them to see it when it was in theaters.

Ok, I guess I need to get in bed. I feel so lazy today. I hope tomorrow is more productive. G'nite!
  • Heres a review on "The Lovely Bones" Wonderful wonderful book!! Two thumbs up!!

When we first meet Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. As she looks down from this strange new place, she tells us, in the fresh and spirited voice of a fourteen-year-old girl, a tale that is both haunting and full of hope.

In the weeks following her death, Susie watches life on Earth continuing without her-her school friends trading rumors about her disappearance, her family holding out hope that she'll be found, her killer trying to cover his tracks. As months pass without leads, Susie sees her parents' marriage being contorted by loss, her sister hardening herself in an effort to stay strong, and her little brother trying to grasp the meaning of the word gone.

And she explores the place called heaven. It looks a lot like her school playground, with the good kind of swing sets. There are counselors to help newcomers adjust and friends to room with. Everything she ever wanted appears as soon as she thinks of it-except the thing she most wants: to be back with the people she loved on Earth.

With compassion, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie sees her loved ones pass through grief and begin to mend. Her father embarks on a risky quest to ensnare her killer. Her sister undertakes a feat of remarkable daring. And the boy Susie cared for moves on, only to find himself at the center of a miraculous event.

The Lovely Bones is luminous and astonishing, a novel that builds out of grief the most hopeful of stories. In the hands of a brilliant new writer, this story of the worst thing a family can face is transformed into a suspenseful and even funny novel about love, memory, joy, heaven, and healing.
  • Angel, welcome, I am Melissa or Mel, which ever you want to call me. I am SAHM mom of 2, a boy and a girl. Stick with this post, you will get many ideas that you can pick from to see what works from you.

Penny, Spryng and Leigh, send me a private Email with your shipping info. I will reply with my paypal and shipping costs. I just want to clean out here. I don't want money for the items, just the shipping.

Michelle, I might have some girl stuff too. Not for your little one, but possibly for your 2 YO. What size is she? I might have already emptied out that size. I'll check around though. .....also, is Meridia an appitite suppresant/stimulant? I would like to try it, but right now I'm affraid, because of my bought with depression and that darn paxil medication which made me worse than I was before taking it. I know appitite suppresants can make you jittery and race your heart or cause aggitation and stuff. I don't want to mess with it...that's why I ask.
  • Morning all.
I didn't check back in yesterday, got busy. I did buy groceries and then made chicken stir fry and a peach smoothie for dessert/snack.
I slept okay but got up earlier than normal, so I'll be tired soon.
Sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday and I sure hope you all had a good night. What does everyone have planned today? I have some more errands to run but hopefully after nap time.
Welcome Angel, I'm Crystal, almost 27 yo sahm of 3; almost 4. Alisa 5, Ally 3, and Andrew 19 months. I'm due Feb. 1st. I stay home, homeschool and I'm independent reps for Avon and Watkins. You are one tall lady, I only wish. I'm only 5'3" and I hate that. I'm sorry you're having these last few problems. Everyone hits a plateau and you will soon come out of it. Stick around here and you will definitely get the support you need. Hope we can all be of some help for you.
Well, Andrew is awake, must go get him. Hope everyone has a good day, I'll try to check in later.
  • First Mini Goal!
Okay, it is not my official weigh in day, but I have to share this news because I've reached one of my mini goals. I'm now 157, which means I've lost a total of 15 pounds!!! I'm very excited

Ricci- Michi's ladder - I'll have to look it up to learn more about it. Hope you're finding it helpful to you!

Mel- thank you soooo much, but I think spring/summer 18 month will be the wrong season/size for Liam. He'll fit into just the fall stuff, so however you see fit to divide it is generous of you! I'm not sure about the pizza - you could either avoid it alltogether, or allow yourself one piece once a week. It depends on what you think you can handle Oh, and I have paypal too (like Spryng) so if you do I can also send you money that way.

Spryng - I forgot to congratulate you on fittin ginto size 8 Bet that feels awesome! Ahem! I think you said "I don't work" in one of your posts, but you do! You have more than a full-time job as a mother I watched Big Brother too

Geri- Hope you enjoyed your "me time." That's very important!

Penny- hi! How was your evening?

Michelle - with your medication "admission." You're doing a wonderful job staying OP!

Welcome, Angel! I'm Leigh - mother to one 8-month-old boy named Liam and wife of a great husband! I'm using Weight Watchers to lose my post-pregnancy weight. I think you'll find lots of support here As for losing weight, the women here are on all different plans - some create their own diet plans as well. It kind of depends what you think will suit you. I defintiely think adding exercise will help you gain muscle, tone, lose weight.

Crystal- I have errands today too. Walmart and mini-grocery shopping. I'm putting off my main grocery shopping for tomorrow.

SPeaking of medications - have ya'll seen ads for Suvaril? I'm going to look at the web site mainly because I'm curious about what, exactly, it is. TTYL.
  • Good Morning Ladies,

    Mel,
You are so sweet! Thanks so much and I will email you my info! And the only thing with paypal is that when I send you the mooula through them, they take a portion of it so I want to make sure I send you enough to cover there fees

    Spryng,
I saw the preview of that movie last night. It looked like it was scary.

    Michelle,
Hope you have a wonderful day. Are you going to ride your bike today??

    Leigh,
Congrats to you! You are just doing awesome girly!

    Crystal,
I haven't asked you. How is the avon going? I am not sure if you know but people can go online and purchase Avon and put the credit to you. Hope you have a great day.

Vacation Bible School is next week Mon-Thurs 6-8 pm and Friday 8-5. Hunter & Nicholas are enrolled to go.The director called me last night and asked me if I would help with enrollment when the kids come in. So I will be busy next week. I also have to help clean the church Sunday before it starts and every night after it is finished.

Now this is on top of Karate Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I will have to go straight from Karate to VBS those two days. And my bil is flying in from Hawaii on Thursday to visit for the day. He is in the Air Force and has to go to Alabama so he is go to fly in for the day to visit.

Ok today is my errands day and I need to get dressed so I can get going. I might stop at McDonalds today and let the kiddos eat and play if they are good.
  • Hey Leigh,

I just went to Suvaril website. The drug has no reported side effects and sounds great. But it sounds like a vitamin with green tea. But I am not too sure....

I have found a discussion on it from the moderators if you want to check it out!

  • Hey girls!!!!

Mel - Yes Meridia is an Appetite suppressant, but it supposedly also helps you to burn more calories than you normally would. As with any medication always talk to your doctor before hand. I don't condone the ordering of medications off the internet either just because they can be dangerous. I don't experience any side effects from meridia personally, but there are many many people who do. Also if you are taking an MAOI or paxil or ANY antidepressant you can't take meridia. Thanks so much for the offer on clothes!!! That would be such a big help!!!

I have a million books if anyone is interested in book swapping, I'll compile a list! Let me know!!

Crystal this is a great Idea

So my big confession for today....ughhhh I did sooo well with my eating last night, until hubby gave me some nookie lol I know I know TMI!! lol Anyway I was craving popcorn like crazy afterwards and that led to some M&Ms but today back on track no cheating!!!!

Penny - Man oh Man you are one busy chicka this summer. I hope it doesn't wear you out!! Are you walking today?

Well I'm gonna hop in the shower and go for a ride or actually switch those around lol. I'll be back later.
    Michelle
  • Penny, yes I know about people buying Avon online and I get the credit. I have to make sure first, though, that I don't have to be an E-Representative. That costs alittle each month so I haven't done it yet. The same is for Watkins, except it doesn't cost me. So anyone can order from watkinsonline.com with my id # 356478 and I get the credit and they get their prodcuts. Great ideas. If anyone is interested, let me know.
