Michelle, I sent you a message on your yahoo messenger. Thank you for sharing your story!! You are truly an inspiration to me and a wonderful woman and friend. I could never think less of you, ever. In fact it just gave me more respect for you because now I have a little glimpse into your life and I feel like I know you better. I miss chatting with you too! LOL.... you always crack me up!

MichelleRae 07-13-2004 12:02 PM

Thank you spryng :) I deleted the post cuz I felt wierd about it, I don't know if anyone would think different of me because of it. But I felt that I should share, then I was scared to share lol, I'll put the link in again, and for those of you who haven't seen already, its just a little bit about who I am and how I got to where I am and to be the person I am... http://3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43277

Spryng I was just thinking today how much I missed chatting!! Perhaps tonight? I work til 9pm if its not busy. I'll pop in to the chat to see if anyone is there :).

Hi girls, y'all have been busy. I'm gonna make this short and try to get in a nap. Well we went to Home Depot, I had to get my mom's new sink, vent-a-hood, paint and stain. I've got to go to Lowe's this week and get her wall sconces and chandelier, vertical mini blind and some chicken wire. Anyways.
Spryng, my dh is one of those very very stubborn, hard headed, closed minded men that wants what HE wants and nothing short of it. He does not want to buy a home that he knows he'll have to fix up and do things to and it's not customized to what HE wants. That's just how he is, he thinks he needs EVERYTHING he wants. I don't mind, I kind of like the thought of living in a home that's been lived in, there is a sense of coziness and comfort, I don't know. So I'm probably waisting my time but he knows that if we have to then we have to. And btw, we moved into this house on November 30th, 2001 and I had Andrew December 1st. I packed the entire day I was in labor, got it done in one day too. Had alittle help.
Well, I'm gonna get off for now.

Angel Marie 07-13-2004 01:49 PM

Hows everone's afternoon

Hope everyone has had a good day so far.Mine's been o.k. I baked homemade
chacolate chip cookies.Kids made clubhouses all over the livingroom and continue to test me.I think it's more me than them so i'm tring to control my frustration. It's awful hard sometimes.
Anyhow,Michelle I just read your "bio" I envy how you changed a bad upbringing into a positive family life for you and yours. That makes you very special and your also brave for sharing your story I don't think I could do the same.Reading that just makes me want to do better as a parent and a wife.Maybe i'll share my story with you sometime.
Let me get off here and go check on the kids their in the kitchen and I hear water running it can't be good i'll post later tonight when everyone is asleep.

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted, but my computer is down. I went to the local library and the system was sooooo slow, that it was impossible to work. Anyway, I am doing well starting a new program. Although, it's been tough without the use of my computer. It's my lifeline to you all and to many other things I do each day. Not to mention that it has been raining here and I haven't been able to take the kids outside.

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know that I should be back up in a few days if not sooner....I HOPe. If you are trying to get to me for whatever reason, you'll have to email me and I will try my best to get on a friends computer to check. I can't believe how much I depend on my computer.

I briefly read through this thread, but dont' have much time to respond. I do want to say to Michelle though. WTG Keep up the good work. You seem like such a good person. Be proud of yourself and always look up. Here is a little something I always finds that helps me out. :

Lord please help me to remember that there is nothing that will happen to me today that you and I can't handle together.

I read your little bio. You have been through so much and you have made it this far in your life. You will get though this weight dileman and even if your not where you want to be, you are beautiful at any number. Don't forget the scale is just a number. Who is to judge what beautiful and not. Only God really and he loves you no matter what number you are.

Mel

spryng 07-13-2004 02:30 PM

Just me again...lol...

Melissa, I hope your computer gets running soon! I know what you mean about depending on it. I would be lost without mine. It's my only sourse of adult interaction on a daily basis. Has this site been running slow for anyone else? It's been driving me nuts lately. I hope it's not my computer because that is a purcahse I'm not ready to make anytime soon.

Angel, have you been staying away from those chocolate chip cookies?? Sometimes with kids we forget they are just acting their ages and we want them to act more grown up. I know my kids will pull apart my sofa and act like they are trampolines and I just want to clobber them! LOL... they don't realize how much I appreciate having nice things since I never had them growing up but then again "I" don't realize they are just being kids and not really hurting anyone or anything. It's easy to forget.

Crystal, I just hope that no matter what you all end up in (a brand new built home or a pre-owned home) that you are happy. I like houses that have been around for awhile and not all of them need much work done to them, you know? But my dh is the same as yours, he would love to build us a house someday and I fight him because I want to own one of those old victorian homes that have been around forever, lol. I think older homes are cozy too.

Michelle, yes I noticed you deleted that message but I read it before you did! NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH!!! :p LOL... but I'm glad you re-posted it. You have nothing to feel weird about. We all have our skeletons, you know? They make us who we are today. I have alot of pain in my past too but I wouldn't go back and change anything because that would change who I am now and I like who I have become. You know? And yes I will try to chat tonight too! Do you want to chat on yahoo or at the mom's site?

Well, my afternoon is going ok. I did get a load of dishes done. The kids picked up the living room. My cousin's sons are out of town so they won't be mowing my lawn tonight so my SIL offered to mow it for the some price so she will be over this evening or tomorrow. So after nap time I'll clean some more. I did get some more crocheting done. I started a new blanket, lol. But this one I will finish. It's a cute ripple pattern and I'm making it with purple and white yarn. Very cute. Now if I just knew someone who was having a girl, lol. Crystal?? Maybe it will be you. :)
ok, I wrote out a menu for me and dh for when I'm with him for a week. I decided to cook up a couple of casseroles to take with us. (I'll freeze them before hand) so I need your help. Do you have any great casserole recipes that I can freeze? (of course they need to be low fat/cal too) I may go check out cookinglight.com and see what they have. TTYL!

MichelleRae 07-13-2004 02:51 PM

hi gals -
Busy morning here, I just got home, been gone since 9am after a fast shower and throwing the dd is the car ! NOthing new and interesting here today, still bummed about the fight with my mom yesterday. I called her, and we talked a little, but she just can't seem to let me be an adult sometimes. I am young, I know that, I am not hiding that, but she wants to always parent me, and I am getting sick of it....ggrrr....thats a long story! haha!

Michelle - I think you are so brave and strong to open up to everyone. I was hesitant about reading it at first, feeling like maybe I didn't know you well enough yet, and then I was like 'duh - you moron, get to know her  " ...so I did, and was inspired by you and your lifes trials. I think that would be such a neat way to get to know everyone here. We could all write out "our story " (if they are comfotable) and send it as a PM to those we want to see it. I think I would see a glimpse of healing in myself if I could do that. :)

Spryng - Glad you are not down and out with that cold, those are the worst. Yes, I have been experiencing issues with the site lately too. Its just so busy I think! I have a cable modem, and it will still tell me that 'server cannot be found" - lately it seems like once a day or more!

Crystal - I love looking at houses, old and new, I'm sure everything will fall into place for you guys, things always have a way of working themselves out, just take care of yourself and try not to stress too much! I would love to chat sometime about the design stuff, do you watch all the HGTV, and TLC shows, I love furniture finds, antique roadshow, trading spaces, etc. All those shows are addicting! :D

Hi Geri, Ricci, Leigh, Ginny, Cindi

and hope you are having fun Di !!! :hat:

Sorry it would take too long to get personal with everyone! We are apretty up-to-the-minute group! ;) I love it, wouldn't have it any other way!

I need to get something out for dinner and get some more office work done, as I haven't been home all morning! :yikes: I'll have to check in with you all later! ;)

sydsmom 07-13-2004 05:08 PM

Hello also to Jaymi and Angel - man, i knew I would forget someone! :rollpin: ! :)

I think I am going to make Texas Turkey burgers and baked tater tots for dinner tonight, maybe corn on the cob, it has sounded so good to me lately! We have already had it last week 2 times! oh well, I'm cookin' they'l eat it! haha!

I agree with all of you that said this site is addicting, I am finding myself here so much its my home page now! ! OKay, but I must break free for a while to get some work done !

Angel Marie 07-13-2004 05:27 PM

Got some weight info

Hey girls I've got some info ya'll might can use.
Did you know that it takes 3500 calories to lose 1 pound. :tread:

Did you know that holding in your "core" stomach musles during the day will give you a fatter tummy faster than doing sit ups.Think :headache: about it.It makes since holding in your stomach for 8 to 10 hours a day is alot more effective than just doing 50 sit ups a day.I'm not saying to stop doing crunches but just add in sucking in your tummies during the day and before you know it,It will become habbit and easy to do and after that your tummies and mine "if I can do it" will shrink and get flatter.would nt' that be nice

There was something else and I can't remember it right now I'll think about it and get back to everyone.I got that first info from my bf's doctor and the second info from Denise Austin.

Well that's it for now.ttyl
PS Whats for supper :eating2: I don't know what i'm fixing yet.

I think it was Crystal who ask me if I was staying away from the cookies.I am now since I already ate about 3 of them plus some cookie dough. It was so guuuuud.

Oh yeah I finally stepped on the scales and it was'nt as bad as I thought I've gained about 3 pounds but I can get that off in 2 days if I'm hard on myself and I am sometimes.

I have a question. How do you get the info to stay at the bottom of the posts.Ya'll know what I'm talking about the weight stats and sahm info and pics"which I don't have any right now"I hate having my pic made.I'm not very good at the computer stuff.I know some things but alot I still need to learn.Anyhow if someone would tell me it would be greatly appricated.

Everyone have a nice supper.I gotta go find something I'm not a planner.I need to be though.I do alot better during the school year when I have some sense of routine.Anyhow ttyl  Angel

Hi all, I got a short little nap in.
I forgot to tell you all that Alisa had so much fun at VBS last night. I picked her up and she had this huge smile on her face and was so ready to tell me what she did and who she met. She has always been so shy so this has been a new experience for her and since we homeschool it is important too. I drove by a couple of homes in town and I found a couple that are great of course without seeing the inside, but nonetheless.
We are having chicken fajitas for dinner. Next week I'll be hitting 12 weeks, the end of my first trimester and my goal has been to get back on track counting calories and walking so wish me luck.
Kristin, I watch some of the shows like Decorating Cents, Divine Design, Trading Spaces, Design on a Dime, those are my favorites.
I've got to start dinner, TTYL

Angel Marie 07-13-2004 05:29 PM

oops

oops I meant FLATTER not fatter.Sorry :sorry:

sydsmom 07-13-2004 05:37 PM

angel - noticed your question about the "signature' section of membership here. Go to the top of your thread page and go to "user CP" there are lots of "techinical options" that you can use to personalize your 'profile' - one of them being your signature! :) Hope that helps! :)

spryng 07-13-2004 05:47 PM

Hello all!

I feel like crap right now for some reason. I got a 2 hr nap in but I don't feel like I've slept at all! I'm so tired. Ugh. I hate feeling like this. I think I need caffeine so after I post here I'm going to go to walmart and get me some diet coke and a hershey bar with almonds (they are 6 pts each and I have exactly that many pts left today even after dinner!) Dinner was sloppy joes made with boca crumbles, so I had two for 3 pts all together and 6 oz of fries (which is a nice pile of fries) for 4 pts. So I'm satisfied now.

Crystal, so glad you got a nap in and that you dd had a great time last night. Is VBS a week long? Chicken fajitas sound great.

Angel, thank you for sharing those tidbits. I did know about both of them but it's nice to be reminded. Did you find something for dinner?

Kristin, what is texas turkey burgers? Sounds really good! I used to have fights like that all the time with my MIL. She thought she could mother me and I didn't like it one bit, especially if it was about how to raise my own kids. I have a cable modem too so it's nice to know I'm not the only one having issues with the site. I was afraid it was my computer.

Michelle, so how do you like ww so far?? Did you get your stuff today? Where did you end up buying it? Ebay or did you join online? And you can check out the mom's boards for some good low pt meals, but i don't really have many casseroles that is why I was asking you all! LOL. How many pts are you getting each day?

Well, guess I'll get off here and get the kids around so I can go to walmart. TTYL!

Loveliam 07-13-2004 05:57 PM

Afternoon! Boy this turned into a super long day. Ran errands and now the condo is all clean too. I enjoyed my flexlunch :) Liam is a teething mess. His second top tooth is now breaking the gum and I'm chasing him around with tylenol every four hours :(

Michelle- Thank you so much for the link to your story. I truly believe by writing and sharing your story with others, the bad parts lose their power and hold over you and it moves you only forward. I commend the healthy choices you now make each and every day.

Spryng- 120lbs sounds reasonable to me. No, the site hasn't been running slow for me, but we have high speed internet. There have been 2 or 3 times when the pages didn't want to load. The casserole idea is a good one :) I don't have any recipes or else I'd share them :)

Ricci- it sounds like you have a good plan figured out for dinners :)

Crystal - what?!? You packed while in labor??? Well, I guess that's one way to pass the time and maybe speed up the process  Glad Alisa liked VBS.

Angel - cookies sound yummy! Thanks for the weight loss info.

Mel- I'm glad your new program is going well. What an inspirational post you wrote :)

Kristin-my mother often treats me like I'm 12 so I know what you're saying. I sometimes need to take a break and not talk to people in my family for a few days  Not Dh's family - they're very sweet - but my family is quite dysfunctional. Hope you have a good evening. What are Texas Turkey Burgers? Could you pm me the recipe? I love turkey burgers.

Okay, it's pasta for dinner here tonight - whole wheat pasta. Plus breadsticks (only 1 for me) and a salad. That's about all I have the energy to prepare :)
