Welcome Valerie!!!!!!!!!!! Where in Ohio do you live???????? I have a sister in Euclid, just curious. I think what has happened to you happens to lots of us, when we leave the workplace our social life goes kaput. I ended up in a play group when my older kids were young......... (now 18, and 15......oh gosh how did they get that old?).
Anyway, welcome! What are your weight loss goals? Good for you doing the Denise Austin tapes. She is so upbeat. Geri- hang in there hon........hope the kids are behaving. I will take a 2 year old any day over a 3 year old........the 3 year olds have the maturity to reason and climb under your skin, complete with mind games.......2 year olds just get cranky. Hi to everyone else. I came by the computer and Ds had left it on. Off to WW in a bit over an hour, the meeting in my town so that I can have dinner with the family. Gotta go- sorry not to get personal with anyone else- Have a great day. Ginny |
Hi, Ladies,
I am in such a good mood. I just found out my loan for school got approved. YAY!. I think we are having empanadas for dinner. Geri an Di, I hope you both have better mommy days soon. You deserve them. Welcome, Valerie. I hope you post often here. Hi to everyone else. Have a great evening. |
Hello ladies,
Much better day today...gosh I hope I didn't just jinx it!! Mowed the lawn for exercise (takes about 2 1/2 hours) finished a small gardening project my mother and I started yesterday and swam with the boys for about 1/2 hour then went for a walk. Now we're relaxing before dinner. Di, I don't think I ever sent you my condolences (sp?) for Pake...so very sorry! He'll know you're there in spirit. Hope you're having a much better Mommy day too! When they're 3 they talk back and it's tough..... For some reason I think I have more patience today than the past few days. Spryng, I'll have to check out the MExican lasagna. I LOVE the full fat version so I hope the light is half as good. Michelle, we keep the pool chlorinated and also have PH powder (kids tend to pee in the pool you know!). We have some chlorine tablets that are in a dispenser in the pool whenever we're not in it. We neglected it for a week or so last year and it turned green on us so I'm trying to be very good about it this year. It finally got warm enough outside to swim, but the water was a bit cold. It should be much warmer tomorrow. Welcome Valarie...I'm older and not many of my friends had their kids before 35 so I was lucky. Now I have the youngest ones so there is a bit of a challenge there. I have a 3yo and 1 yo both boys. Yeah for the loan approval Ricci!! Hi Ginny, thanks for the good wishes. I want to see Cold Mountain really badly! Maybe this weekend we can actually make some time for a movie. OK, sorry to not address everyone, but I just popped on quickly to catch up. I need to come up with some dinner for the boys. I'll have a boca burger and a salad I think. TTYL!! |
Evening
What a busy day! We ran errands and stopped for lunch at Mconalds. I used a few flexpoints so I could get a small burger and fries. My weekly indulgence :) Tonight at dinner I'll be having spagetti pomodoro, but will make sure I only eat a cup and take the rest home.
Michelle- :bravo: on the great weight loss- we're as proud of you as the doc - if not more :D Spryng- my house is nice and clean now too (finally). Glad you feel on top of things now . . . Glad the kids are enjoying their lessons. Crystal - seven weeks already! That's great. I also hope that means a quicker end to your nausea. Di - I know how you feel. I have bad mommy days too. They are no fun! I also like things very spicy - I'm always adding ground red pepper to things  Hi, Valarie! Welcome to the community! I'm Leigh - SAHM to an 8-moth-old named Liam. I'm in the middle of losing 32 post-pregnancy pounds and am using Weight Watchers. Is there a particular plan you're interested in? You'll find that there are lots of plans represented here - so ask away! Hi again Ginny :) Hope all is going well with you. Ricci - :cheer: on the loan! Great news! Geri- That's a lot of yard work! ENjoy your boca burger - I love those. Well, depending on which night DH is out of town, I'll be making Jerk Steak with corn on the cob either tomorrow night or Thursday night. That sounds sooooo good! Kind of wish it were tonight. TTYL. |
Welcome, Valarie. I am Melinda, mom to John Wesley, 10 months old.
Leigh - You are so good with eating out. I am really bad at having so many tempting foods in front on me. I have been better and getting a salad and then having a bite of whatever dh is having. I know what it is like to have a town everyone like to visit. Michelle - You are one busy woman! I love your pic, it that a glamour model I see. Penny - Your shot is great too. We look a lot alike. That is when I get some of this weight off we will. Spryng - Thanks for passing all of the great recipes. Where is the website that help you plan your weekly meals. Crystal - So sorry for the sickness, how many more weeks of the 1st trimester. My gf family has a beach house so we went out there today. JW had a great time. We are lucky to have such great weather in Charleston. Oh, my bike came it, I have been riding everyday. I put JW in the trailer and it actually wasn't we hard to pull. That is about all for me. |
Welcome Valerie! I'm Diane and my boys are going to be 2 years old at the end of July. So soon! I'm also older, 35 to be exact. Spryng gave you some good pointers already in regards to an eating plan, hope you find something that fits your needs and lifestyle.
Hi Ginny, hope you get inspired by your meeting and have a lovely dinner with the family. :) Ricci, congratulations on getting that loan approved! It must be such a relief not to stress out about it anymore. Thanks, I am having a better day today. Geri, sounds like you are having a much better day and a good workout to boot! Thanks for your condolances, see I don't know how to spell it either, I just know it looks wrong! I don't think you jixed your day, but we wont talk about it anymore just in case, I'd hate to do the same to my day. LOL Leigh I Love Red Pepper! I swear I put in in everything. Your dinner tomorrow sounds yummy, I love Italian food. Now if I could only find a pizza that Steve and I can enjoy that isn't too horrible for me to eat! Ahh, to dream the impossible dream. Well I'm signing off for the night and I'll see you all tomorrow. It's been an ok day food wise for me, I'm not going over on points, but I used my flexpoints yesterday after my bad mommy day. I hate doing that, because now there is total pressure to be perfect the rest of the week. I would rather save them for Friday, a little splurge. Oh well, I'm just lucky I have them I suppose. :) bye for now, Di |
Hey everyone ;) Just popped in to check posts and say hellooooooooooo to everyone :)
Hey :) and Welcome Valerie. I'm also new here (I only discovered the 3 Fat Chicks site last week) but I'm already feeling more motivated since I started posting. Everyone is so supportive and I think it's great. It almost makes me feel guilty if I over-eat and break my diet lol. I totally credit this message board with my 4 cookie free days in a row  Hope everyone is having a fabulous day/night (wherever u may be). ttfn Nikki :queen: |
Hey Girls!
I have already lost those 3 pounds from last week, so this week is going better. We went swimming today and the kids had a blast. I am laready trying to get a routine going for when school starts in a month!! Summer is flying by! WTG on the cookie free days, Nikki! I think I ate mine and yours last week while pmsing! Melinda...Glad you are enjoying that bike! Leigh...It's so hard to stay OP on busy days away from home. WTG on the good choices eating out. Geri...Sounds like you had a nice full day. Hope your evening was great as well! YAY Ricci on the loan!! Great to see the drive by post, Ginny! Hope the WW meeting was a good one. Spryng...Hope your nap was good...How's the crocheting coming? Di...I have bad mommy days, too. But they are usually bad "step mommy" days, as step son is the only one who can really push the wrong buttons with me. So that wicked step mom stereo type holds true in his eyes I am sure!! I would need daily flex points!!!!! Crystal...Glad you had a good weekend and glad the first trimester will be over soon. Welcome Valarie, I am Cindi, mom to 7, and you have found the right group to get motivated with. YOu will love this bunch of ladies! Hey Michelle...I miss all those posts from you tonight! Hope the puter is up and running soon! Penny...Hope you had a great day too! I think I got you all this time...if not, (((HUGS))) next time around I won't forget! Love to all! til tomorrow! |

Thanks for your reply, it's been a tough week. I'm 23, and got married young as well. I married at 20 and two weeks following our honeymoon, we discovered I was pregnant. I had my daughter at 21, and it's definitely been a challenge. My Husband and Daughter are definitely my life, and it's been very difficult keeping friends. Two of six girls in my wedding party still chat with me on a regular basis, and I know some of this is due to how hectic everyday life is.
About six weeks ago or so, my husband was promoted, so we sold our first home in our hometown, and moved about 45 minuntes south, into a townhouse apartment, away from all of our family and all that we've known for the past twenty years. We still make it home a few times a month. Since I left my day time job, I've taken on a part time job, working evenings from about 6:30p - 1:30a...it's good to get out of the house, but at the same time has made spending time with my husband very difficult, as his job requires 45-60 hours a week from him, sometimes more, and I usually work 6 days a week. It get's very lonely at times, and I have to repeat to myself daily that this will all be worth it in the end. I have had similar experiences as you've discussed, where most of the people I relate to are quite a bit older than me, with most of the time older children. Though as you said, it's still hard to completely connect with these people, because they've not gone through what we have. I have no reqrets at all, I love my husband and my daughter, and wouldn't want to spend my life with any other two people in the world. Though I do so badly wish that there were someone to chat with about all this stuff that goes through my head. I'm so exhausted and full of things to say, forgive me if I take advantage of this moment to yap! So as I said this has been a tough week. I'm averaging four hours of sleep at night and trying to catch up a bit during my daughters afternoon nap time. Can't wait until tomorrow, I have the night off! I get to have dinner with my family for the first time in two weeks! So as far as my diet, I'm not really on any specific plan right now, just trying to keep down the portions, eat healthy, and excersise five times a week. So we'll see how it goes! Thanks for letting me ramble! I can't tell ya how helpful it is to me! |
ECmom...I live near Youngstown, Ohio now...but am originally from Ashtabula...about 45 minutes from Euclid1!

Hello everyone!
My name is Jaymi. I am from TX and I currently reside in SC. I’m married and have two kids. I am 25 yrs old. I am a stay at home mom, and I mostly… “Stay at home !!” Of course, I pay the bills and get groceries…etc, etc. My baby girl is 19 mths and my son is 6, so no going to softball practice and all of that drama…yet! I started off at about 200 lbs when I had my daughter. I gradually lost about 40 lbs by the time by daughter was a year old. But of course I gained 20 more back in a short time. So when I started again in March of 2004 I was 180 lbs. Now I am 143. I pretty much made up my own diet. I count my calories and fat, and I exercise at least once a day. I am a very shy person, but once I get comfortable I speak my mind. What I mean is that I am a very honest person and I will tell you my honest opinions and give my honest advice. I’m ready to get to meet all of you and look forward to chatting with ya soon! |
Welcome Jaymi! When our thread gets to 3 pages we start a new one with the next number up so if you and autumn will copy and paste your posts on SAHM's # 204 we can catch up with you both there!!! :)
