Chit Chat # 52
WELCOME to the Jaded Ladies!
This is a very warm and friendly group of ladies who talk about everything. Who also provide daily support in our everyday lives, as well as our walk towards a healthier lifestyle. We would love for you to join us! :cofdate: |
Good morning ladies,
Marti - hope you're having a good weekend with James and Jhanai. Btw, you didn't answer my question about her age. Get on the ball, woman, lol! Susan - so sorry you didn't get the job! (I agree with what Angie said, lol) Your time is coming, sweetie, it just wasn't meant to be yet. Hope you get some rest this weekend. At least the stress of not knowing about the job is over. Angie - lol, I love your plan for giving the kids something to do and getting the house cleaned all at the same time! What a great idea! I made soup today (chili) for tomorrow. Forgot what kind you said you made, but it seems that when one of us makes soup, some of the others are making it too, just by coincidence! Jen - glad you have all that extra space. I finally gave up trying to fit a dreadmill, er... treadmill.... in the house. It would have taken too much space in the playroom. So I've been doing WATP every other day. It's boring, but it gets the job done. Hi also to Katiecat, Shanna, RosieKate, Cristi and the others! Like I told Angie, I've made tomorrows soup already and I made a low-cal version of banana pudding for tomorrow, also. We're going to Mary's in a little while for the party, but I'm taking a smoothie with me for that. I am lucky that I don't like store cakes, lol. That has saved me a lot of temptation! My good news is that I'm down 1 1/4 more pounds. Too bad it wasn't at least 1 1/2 to make an even 50, but that's okay. I'll get it next Saturday! Four crummy little ounces, lol. Be good and have a nice Saturday! |
Hello....James is in need of getting to town so this will be quick...I will do individuals later.
Had to come in and report my WI.....149!! So one measly pound gone!! I'm really excited considering I've got TOM hanging around!! BBL Marti BTW...Jhanai will be 10. Sorry Jana....slipped my mind! |
Good day all,
Jana, I make soup as much as I can,,,I love soup. The family is ok with it but would rather have *real* food. I made left over soup...meaning I have some roast beef and potatoes from the night before. I just added more veggies, and spices We had another veiwing this morning,,,nothing. The house is clean.... Thinking of going to see Harry Potter, Monte had meetings all morning and just got home...maybe he will come join Tan and I. well gonna go get dinner ready. Angie |
tDid you IM me , Ang?? Sorry--

Hi Jen :) I am really ok on the job, not real down about it at all. Going to take advantage of my mornings and take some college courses in the Fall- and sooooo much to learn on the job- Look forward to the new boss- and just carrying on. Met a man on line- he lives about 30 minutes away- he has 3 children living at home , is a plumber= goes to a good church. I haven't met him yet, just talking on the phone.......he went fishing today,,,anyway his kids are 13, 10 and 9......we'll see........... Making my way through Ben & Jerry' coupons. GAby and I went and got some last night. Butter Pecan and Cherry Garcia........lol., probably gain back.... best get!!! :) TTFN |
Just a quick posting.....
I took a look at my final grades and got two out of the three back..... *A* in Adv. Word... :cb: *B* in ACCOUNTING!!!!! :cb: :cb: So happy!! Waiting for the math grade!! ok...gotta go. Marti |
Good Sunday morning to you,
Marti - YAY :cp: for the 1 pound down and for the good grades, too. When will you know about the Math grade? Angie - my dad used to make a version of leftover stew, only he called it "Hobo" stew, lol. He would throw all the leftovers in a pot and I do mean everything! Saurkraut, bologna, beets, whatever, lol. Susan - speaking of beets made me think of you, lol. So.... are you planning to meet the mystery man soon? Glad this one lives closer than Alex. Hi to the other Jaded Ladies and any lurkers out there. Well, the party was so much fun. The theme was Dora the Explorer, lol. I took my smoothie with me and did fine with that. Today I have no special plans. See, Shanna, having a boring life doesn't prevent ME from posting, lol!! Anyway, hope you JLs have lots of fun today. |
Hi Jana-
I have heard of Hobo stew, love that stuff...........so much soup talk I went and bought me a can for dinner. Gaby and I are heading for church. I asked the other girls and they passed. His name is Les and he said " so , wanna meet tomorrow (Sunday)" I said no...maybe in a few weeks after I build up this wonderful fantasy....lol He said "why would you want to do that??""..........I was joking. Maybe this week sometime, he doesn't have a problem meeting Gaby at the same time. He seems very involved himself as a father. We talked for 3 hours last night when my phone battery went dead. He seems like a very nice man. He does commercial plumbing- only deals with clean pipes....lol. His kids are 15 ,13 (girls)and 9( a boy)- I think I said it wrong before. So to answer..........this week or the weekend......see how the phone conversations go. CONGRATS Marti!!!! YOu are soooooo smart.. Heading for church--- ttfn |
Just a quick one at the moment. Not sure what I'm doing today but I need to get myself busy so I'm not bored and want to eat myself silly!
James left at 4:30 this morning. Won't be home until Thursday afternoon. I had told him that I was going to go Birthday shopping for Jhanai and he told me that he wanted to do some of it while he was in Salem. Hope he decides to find me something!! :D Ok ok...so it's not my birthday...just being needy! I will definately do individuals later. Jana, I will get back to the music thing...I have to think on that one. Take Care Marti |
Hello gals!!
I went over to my grandpa's today and made us some lunch. Spent an hour with him. He watched the ball game while I yapped!! He made some stackable drawers for Jhanai and he plans on getting them laquered (Did I spell that wrong!) in time for her birthday. He had another set that he didn't like how it turned out and I did....so guess who gets that?? I want to use it for a filing drawer. It would work out perfect!! (and it wouldn't be ugly and metal!!) So time for individuals...... Jana--I'm not sure when I'll find out my math score. She was supposed to have it in by Friday.....but it's sunday and still no grade. I'm not too worried about that class though. I'm still amazed that I got a B in Accounting!! I was sure I was going to barely get a C!!! So just imagine my surprise when I saw B!!!!!! :D Angie--Don't worry...you'll sell that house soon enough. With all our good vibes heading your way from all over your bound to get a buyer soon!! Susan--Three hours on the phone!! Wow....it's like we're talking with a teenager here!! Hope all goes well with the meeting. I think you're brave. I don't think I could ever meet someone on line even though I have heard so many couples getting together that way!! So good luck! Hi to the rest of you girls!! Where are you all??? Enjoying your weekend? Hope so. I'm off to read a book. Borrowed some of grandma's old romance novels. I have never seen her read any of them so I'm not sure how she got so many!! I borrowed three. Actually grandpa woudn't care if I kept them. One of them is set in Oregon.....so that one ought to be easier to imagine!! Take care girls.. I may be back considering I'm all alone for the week. Marti |
First post
My last post wouldn't go through, so I'm trying again...
Hi, this is Kate. Since you are apparently overrun with Kates/Katies/Kathys already, I guess you can refer to me as the Spinster. I'm 31, currently finishing grad school, and will be getting married in October. I'm a librarian, and my fiance works in security in a casino. |
Kate intro (cont.)
Yay! It worked!
I tried Weight Watchers with my sister in 2002, but quit after they refused to change the unrealistic goal weight that they had set for me. My goal weight was supposed to be 145 lbs. I brought in a report from the doctor showing that I had 146 lbs of lean body mass - they were unmoved. I lost 50 lbs doing Atkins and step aerobics in 2002, but have been unable to stick with either and am slowly putting weight back on. I'm thinking about trying South Beach or SugarBusters, because I know that carbs are my big problem, both weight and helathwise. I also need to get back to exercising, and to that end, I ordered a pedometer this morning. My fiance is a diabetic, so a low-carb diet will help him out too. |
Hello Kate the Spinster, and welcome to our group.
Yes Susan i tried to PM you like 5 days ago...lol Just was going to say I would call you later but,,,I fell asleep right after....lol thank goodness you I ddint' call,,,3 hours? geesh melted the ear wax or what? Jana,,,its my favorite type of soup...I also make alot of onion soup...I add diced chicken thou so i don't know if that is till called onion soup. Congrats Marti,,,good grades! So yesterday we hung out,,,didn't do alot,,,relaxed,,,rented a couple of movies,,,Big Fish,,( still confused about that one) and Cold Creek Manor (save your money!) Today we had to help Monte out with his route...things have changed so we went throu that,,,we then went to a German Brunch Buffet...OMG that was too good...and I was soo bad! WE then went and saw Harry Potter 3....now Im home needing to do some lists for Monte. Brandon finally got an appointment with a Ped Specialist for his ankles. well I should get going,,,get my work done Angie |

First item on the agenda: I'm a really, really bad poster. I do most of my posting on the week-end when I have some free time and I tend to get really far behind sometimes! But this group looked so warm & cozy that I decided to barge in anyway. :) At this point, I'm pretty much reading the posts and getting a feel for all of you regulars. I'm sure I'll delurk & stick my nose in from time to time. As Homer would say, "Mmmmmmmmmmm.....soup.....". We have a food coop in town that makes absolutely scrumptious lentil soup. In fact, it's so good I had it for lunch AND dinner the other day. My other quick comment for Mom2Gaby is that I met my husband online too. We've been together 5 1/2 years now, so those romances can bear fruit! Good luck! And good luck to all of you in your various ventures: school, work, kids, etc, etc.! |
Good morning all you Jaded Women!!
Cristi - hop in and let us know you're all right, okay? Susan - well, you know what they say "Les is more" Okay, okay, terrible joke, but I couldn't help myself! I also know of several couples who met online and are doing well. But like Marti, I'm not sure I could do it, either! My sister Katie introduced me to Neal... he played ball on her husband's team, and she knew he was a dependable sweetie. Have you set up a meeting yet? What are you going to wear? Marti - however you got the B in accounting, it's all good! I know Neal really cuts some slack to students who show they're trying, and especially to adult ones. Post often when you get lonesome... start some new threads! We need lots of diversion around here, lol. LibraryKate - would it be okay if I call you that? Like you, I need to make sure I get enough protein, or I start feeling whacky. I've been doing WW with a lot of success, and it's something I can do for the rest of my life. You'll find what's right for you! Is your DB security for the boat? Angie - so glad you got some much-needed rest, my friend. Thanks for the warning about the movies. I don't like to waste my money on bad ones. I saw a cute one this weekend... an old one on TV... about a mom with 2 DD who takes off to be a stand up comic. Homer Simpson's wife Julie Kavner was the star..... something like "It's My Life"? Fabulous - join us! Jump In! We won't bite..... well, there are a couple here who might, lol. Jk ;) Pandemonia - just post when you can, and if you get behind, just concentrate on what's going on when you get here, lol. After a rainy weekend, the sun is out and I plan to get back in the pool. It is very small, but we are fencing it in today because of the grandkids. They are supervised at all times, but they're Quick! Better safe than sorry, right? I need to run to Evansville soon to look at comfortors for our bedroom. I just can't find anything locally, and E'ville has a huge Penney's Home Store with lots of choices in stock. But I'm not really in the mood for that.... What are you gonna do today? |
Here's a pic of the twins in some dress-up clothes they got at their party. I tried to re-size it, so I hope it isn't too big!
(photo edited out by Jana) |
Jana ~ LibraryKate sounds good. Yes, James works on the boat. He works day shift. Next Monday, we are going to Holiday World for the company picnic. We had a great time last year.
I'm working at the university library this morning, and then James and I are working on some wedding planning this afternoon. Less than four months to go, and we have still not settled on the locations of the ceremony and the reception. Hopefully, we will make a decision this afternoon. |
Jana,,,I am sooo jealous! I love dress up clothes...poor Skittles she has a few outfits but hates when I make her wear them,,,She tolerates it but. And Monte he drew the line when I painted her nails that same color as mine...lol yes that was when I was not working and bored! Personally I think she looked good with purple nails...
Les is more...lol Good one Jana! LB (Library Kate) If I could eat soup all the time I would be happy,,,but not store bought,,,I don't like that kind. So what kind of wedding are you wanting? How big? Well Im off to work.... Angie |
Wow. The tired bug just bit me in the butt! Good thing I just started on my coffee. :coffee: A thunderstorm woke me up about 7am. We were supposed to just have "widely scattered showers" today, it's almost 10am and hasn't stopped yet! Last night I replaced the carpet on my back porch. It looks soooo much better. There was actually 2 layers of old carpet. The pad on the bottom one was so bad, it was just powder. YUK! Now I'm really glad I pulled that up. I did have plans to do some yard work today, but I think that's pretty much out of the question, at least for awhile. Maybe I'll venture out to the mall, Victoria's Secret is having their semi-annual sale.
Marti - It's nice that you can spend some time with your Grandpa. My Grandma is starting to drive me nuts. My grandfather died last Nov, and now she gets bored. So she invites herself over, along for shopping trips, etc. I made the mistake of telling her I was taking a couple days off of work. Now she thinks she needs to spend the day with me. When is Jhanai's birthday? Library Kate - (I like that better than the Spinster!) WELCOME! I agree with you about the WW issue. I have a definate issue with carbs. Once I start eating them, I just can't stop. Right now, I'm resisting the urge to go into the kitchen! Good luck with the wedding plans today. Angie - It's always nice to have a day to relax. I agree with you about Cold Creek Manor. Another one that disappointed me was Dreamcatcher. But I did like Scooby Doo 2. He's just too cute. Pandemonia - I remember your bio now. Too many cats? No such thing. I have 9! Yes, all in the house! 2 are in the chair with me now. Mom2Gaby - I met my boyfriend from a personal ad in the newspaper. (I placed the ad, he answered.) We've been together for over 7 yrs now! Jana - I went to Younkers yesterday and found a nice quilt for my bed. I haven't decided if I'm going to go buy it yet. It's on clearance for $60 and is a perfect match for my bedroom. I don't really "need" it, but was looking for something lighter than my heavy comforter for the summer. Well, I guess that's about it for now. It it looks like the sun is trying to come out, so the rain must be coming to an end for now. Guess I'll get off my but and do something! Jen |
Weigh-in day for me - no change. ..and I am pretty thrilled. I mentioned DH brought home Ben and Jerry's the other day. Well, I suggested one pint for the four of us to split to celebrate the end of the school year. He showed up with 4 PINTS! I had a real difficult time, let me tell you! That oatmeal cookie ice cream is to die for! I haven't had much sugar in the past few weeks, as I've been trying to stay OP, so the sugar bomb hit and my whole being just changed. I slept poorly, my face broke out, I was cranky....Yikes! I am definitely motivated to keep my face out of the Ben and Jerry's. I am doing a 21 day challenge with exercise, and that's what saved my bacon this week.
I made "junk" soup for dinner yesterday. I also baked some bread - it was yummy. I am trying to make homemade soup more often. Real lo-cal and filling. the talk of lentil soup has me salivating - and I have some lentils in my cupboard as we speak. So I think I know what my next soup will be. Jana - the girls are too cute! I'm glad you are fencing your pool, you're right, they are quick! We have a neighbor with an unfenced pool, and being the mommy that I am, I can't walk by their house without wondering if some youngster might someday wander over and fall in. Marti - WTG on those grades - I bet it feels good to see all that hard work pay off. Is Jhanai going to be 10 or 11? June is a great month for a birthday, IMO. Mine's tomorrow, my dad's is the 20th. I made him a father for Father's Day ;) I'll be 39, and, like I told DH this morning, I plan to be 39 for the next 10 years or so, lol. Lovely man, told me I didn't look a day over 29. I think he's just trying to butter me up .....snicker Welcome, spinsterlibrarian - tho' sounds like you are going to have to change your name soon - congrats on the upcoming wedding. My 14th anniversary is the 16th and we remember our wedding fondly. A very low key event that we put on ourselves. It was a great way to do it for us. I'm also a Kate, I go by RosieKate on these boards. Short for Rosemary Kathleen... Angie - thanks for the warning on Cold Creek Manor. We saw Kill Bill, Vol. 1 last night. Very good, but incredibly bloody. My fingers were like this WW ( imagine my eyes behind those) Glad we saw it at home. I couldn't have handled it in a theater. Susan, Jen, Pandemonia, fabulous - have a great day! RosieKate |
"So what kind of wedding are you wanting? How big?"
Oy. Where do I start? He asked me to marry him last June, I wanted to elope, but he has always looked forward to a wedding ceremony with all his friends and family there. Also, he is a born-again-Christian, so the religious aspect was important to him. (I'm a Unitarian Universalist.) So, we decided to do the whole wedding thing, but our goal was to keep it as inexpensive as possible. I was a full-time grad student at IU at the time, so I told him that I would not plan the wedding while I was in school. We agreed on October 2nd for the date, and wedding planning was to begin in earnest in May '04. I have already rented a reception site, but it looks like we may change that. We are going to take a second look at it today. Last week, while discussing the possible wedding and reception locations and details, he blurted out, "Why didn't we just elope?!" I responded, "Because you didn't want to! Please Lord, give me strength...don't let me kill him!" Kate |
Morning ladies!!!
Wow, when did you all decide to have some coffee and chat?? :cofdate: Jana--As always, the girls are adorable!! I remember Jhanai wanting to dress up too!! Where has the time gone?? I'm sure soon enough she'll be wanting to dress up again, but for a date!! :yikes: Ok ok...I need to settle down, I have some years before that happens! LibraryKate--(I like that name too...better than spinster.) I just recently got married, March 24th. Married my James on my grandparents anniversary. We only went to the court house but it was still special! We had originally wanted to get married Oct. 7th, the anniversary date we got together, then decided that we didn't really need to do that. Plus, the date had been put off a few times due to procrastination and jobs closing! I hope all goes well today in your search for a reception hall! Pandemonia--Glad you came back. Not to worry about posting everyday. I just happen to be on the computer more times than I should be, and not having a job at the moment gives me plenty of time to meander to the office and sit my tush at the computer and log on! :D And feel free to barge in anytime!! Jen--Jhanai's birthday is the 21st. She's really excited about turning 10. Talked to her yesterday and she told me: "mom, you're not getting older....I'M getting older" silly girl. I'm going to feel old no matter what!! My grandmother passed away last month, so my family has been trying to all get out there at different times to keep my grandpa company. Evertime I'm there, some one is always coming or going......he's doing much better than we thought. He really has been keeping himself busy in his wood shop. He's made more furniture and knicknacks in the last month!! Angie--I'm picturing you now with clunky blue heals, beads hanging around your neck, a boa, and a really frilly bright dress! Oh, and maybe a tiara! All dressed up and ready to go!! :D Jhanai loved to dress up, and always wanted to wear her little heals to town....I just didn't ever let her worrying about her twisting her ankle!! Just for home time. She did get to wear ALL her beads though. I bet people thought she had gone to Mardi Gras!! RosieKate--Do you have any special plans for your birthday tomorrow?? I believe the weather is suppose to be nice. Whatever your hubby has planned for you I'm sure it will be nice! Jhanai's grandpa's (my ex's dad) birthday is the 19th, and hers the 21st. So I'm sure June is a good month for birthdays!! I had almost forgotten about Fathers Day being this month! Isn't that terrible?? I have my Fathers Day card ready to be sent!! Hello to Cristi, Susan, Sue, Shanna, Kayecee-Kathy-Katie-Kat-Rita.......And everyone else I may have missed!! My day consist of figuring out how to work the mower. I haven't had to start it myself so this ought to be fun. I can see the neighbors now, thinking...."What in the world is that girl up to now?" My kittens are getting big and getting into everything!! James wants to keep two. I said no. I don't want to have all these animals that are HIS and I'M the one taking care of them. NO NO NO NO!!!! (We'll see who wins this discussion) I think I need that cup of coffee now :coffee: My back aches....only when I'm sleeping...if I can get much sleep. Need a new mattress. So I'm feeling tired still. Need a little wake up!! Have a great day ladies and if I survive figuring out the lawn mower, I will post later on!! :D Marti |
ahhhhh, a minute to chat before I begin working. I already have tons to put in my July's newsletter, so am excited about that, due to get done the 23rd.
Welcome to everyone!! My goodness.......Thanks for the encouragement in internet meetings, Jen- fabulous dahling and Pandemonia. Cross fingers, I want a success story myself............or I will get axe murdered in the process.....lol JOKING!! Just struck me as funny........ Les Is More?? Why Jana.......lol...... More of Les.........cause we talked 4 hours last night. The time zoomed by and I really enjoy his converstaion.I can relate to his single parenting and trying to get involved with church. Probably meet by the weekend in a dark dead end street somewhere.......lol.....no, it will be out in the open somewhere........... CONGRATS on your upcoming wedding Librarykate :) Oatmeal ice cream is good isn't it RosieKate??? Sorry about the reaction though.......yikes. Try the butter pecan, that should clear it up :) I need to start on my water for the day. Lima bean soup sounds good to me.... Best get- tttfn |
Marti - YOU HAVE KITTENS? Did I mention I LOVE KITTENS! I am so lucky you are so far away, or I would come get them! I've had 2 "surprise" litters this year. One happened while I was in the hospital for 2 days. But that was ok, mom is a polydactyl, thus the name Thumbelina! So were all of the babies. The second happened 2 days before Orange Julius was to be neutered. Little turd! That litter was a problem. All breech, born at the animal ER, 1 stillborn, 2 males never nursed, 1 female. I had fed those. The 2 males didn't make it. But I've got the girl, Jolie Sue! After all I went through with them, I get to keep a prize! She was born April 18th. She turned 8 weeks on Sunday. What I am trying to say, long way around, KEEP A PRIZE! Imagine what might happen to them in the wrong house? How can you let them go? Reminds me, I need to schedule vet appts!
Jen |
Hi ladies,
LibraryKate - I live about 45 minutes north of Evansville... in the country. Have you made any more decisions about the wedding? It's not too late to elope, you know. ;) Angie - oh my gosh, I used to love dressing up as a kid and so did my daughters. I would pretend my mom's crinoline was a wedding veil, lol, til she would come and catch me, lol. Jen - hope you got some yard work done today. We've had sunshine and high humidity all day here in So. Indiana. RosieKate - so what's going on for your BD tomorrow? About the weight, at least you maintained and didn't gain. Be thankful for small blessings, right? :D Marti - did you ever get the mower going? I bet you keep the neighbors in stitches, lol. When you're done, you can come and help Neal mow our yard. It's a riding lawn tractor, but I won't get on the thing! Susan - okay miss smartypants! Keep the pepper spray handy just in case, lol. You never know! Neal got the fence up around the pool and I feel so much better. Spent some time with one of my sisters today, copying CDs, and had a lot of fun. I'm trying out a new Mexican recipe tonight for supper. It's not "lite" so I'll have to fill up on salad and veggies. Toodles, |
lol
Hi jana- just the trail end of my coffee jump start this morning- all sorts of sassy things come out of my mouth. You never really can be too careful. I have been super lucky in my internet meetings. I think there have been 8 in the last 4 years. The first man was a meeting in his apartment, now how stupid is that?? I was soooooo naive. Les sounds sweet though.............(omg- ok....I am still naive.....lol)I hear how he talks to his kids and hearing them in the background they seem well behaved and polite. So, pretty sure he has no intentions of going to jail over me or adding my lil body to the compost pile........ Though he is putting in his garden, thought that was the coolest. We had a long conversation on which detergent is best to use,,,,,,,I say Tide with bleach and he is stuck on All......."96 loads , Susan!!!!"....... btw- your grandchildren are the CUTEST!!! They take such beautiful pictures. Jen- I have a tabby kitty, she needs a home. She is the sweetest little thing- just am never home enough. anyway, really not wanting to work today. lol ttfn |
Wow, busy place here today. Glad to "see" everyone and hear about your day. It was hot and humid here today, so I stayed indoors most of the afternoon. Didn't walk until after 8 p.m. and it was fairly cool by then.
Jen- You were right about the Hida scan. That is what I have to have Thurs. The ultrasound didn't show anything abnormal. Hopefully I will get answers by next week. Seems to be dragging on forever! Mom2Gaby- My daughter is dating a guy she met online. They have been seeing each other for 6 months and seem to be having a good time. I haven't met him yet, but he treats her and my grandsons well. Marti- Hope you got the lawnmower going. My hubby mowed today and I thought it was too hot and wet, but he got it done. RosieKate- Happy Birthday. Hope you do something fun. Jana- Beautiful, beautiful babies! Welcome to all the newbies. Hope you have fun here as I have. suetalks/Sue |
LOL Marti, I had to laugh at you describing me. I didn't have a good hair day,,,so I used more gunk and funked it up and cause I was wearing a black dress added my cranky sweter...(whenever Im cranky I wear this funky long RED sweater with lion mane time of collar) Large necklace and well I matched in colors but I was dressed more or less like you described!
LK my friend Angelika and I were talking about if you could remarry what would your wedding be like... I told her I would have had the wedding at Monte's grandparents farm...and had a good ol pig roast kinda thing...I have many friends that play instruments so jam all you want...BBQ for food,,,relaxed people in their jeans. My other idea was a brunch type wedding...garden type...nibblies, champagne lots of wild flowers around. Susan,,,you never told me about that first meeting! And thank goodness you didn't I would have freaked,,,but since it happened 4 yrs ago...you have learned...right? you have learned? I went for dinner tonight with one of the girls at work,,,to be 21 again...thing is we get along so well...does that mean Im immature or she mature? And you can't get so oposite of me,,,short boy hair cut,,,no makeup and sweats is her look. Im a girly girl...lol missing Cristi,,,hope shes ok. RosieKate, I hate sugar surges...and so easy to be addictedt o more sugar,,,thats my down fall. I need to grocery shop and I don't want to think about even buying ice cream...specially coffee cream kind...yummmmm mouth watering just thinkign about it. well off to watch some tv Angie |
Hi Suetalk........thanks so much. I wish your daughter the best. Curious where you live?
I am just about to head out for Gaby. Hey Ang- wish we lived closer!! Miss you , you always sound like you have sooooo much fun. Yes, I have learned!! lol.....That was 4 years- goodness knows I have matured so much.....lol I did tell Brian about that 1st meeting and he pretty much gave me a lecture. Kind of like he was my dad and you are my mother. :) lol So , I talked to my Les Is More tonight for an hour. Don't tell my boss, I might get in trouble. Though I was still able to pull stories for my newsletter and talk with him at the same time. We talked for an hour and he invited me to call after I get home from work tonight. I told him I don't call men,,,,,,,so he gave me his home phone ( had his cell) and said I can call him and let it ring once and he would call me back.......that way I am not really calling him. :) ok,ok,,,,,,,,everything thing he does I think is cute. He did mention meeting and said it is up to me.He will meet anytime , he just doesn't want to scare me away.......so. I better go. Just exhausted ........tomorrow is payday!!! YAY- ttfn :) |
Evening ladies....
It's 10:30 and I am so sore!! I may have a self-propelled mower, but man....I had to pull it (has no reverse on it) in some spots and my hips ache and my shoulders ache!! Never did pull weeds like I wanted. I figured I would do that tomorrow. (If I have the energy) Well, I'm finished reading one of the romance novels I got from grandma's. :D It was pretty good. Not ever chapter had a sex scene!! Those are the kinds of romance novels I like. It was based in Oregon so that made it more interesting to read. It's called: C is for Cowboy by Lisa Jackson. Pretty good. I started reading it last night. Then after working in the yard I spent the afternoon finishing reading it! (when I get into a book, I really get into a book) Trying to figure out what all I'm getting Jhanai for her birthday. Either tomorrow or Wednesday I am going shopping. She wants some clothes at this particular store....Kids Unlimited. Any one hear of it? She has NEVER asked to go shopping for clothes at a certain place before, so this ought to be fun. I may just take her in there myself instead of buying ahead..that way she can choose stuff herself! Well I thought I would pop in before I head off to bed. I may start in on one of the other books I have. Lonely here at nights with James gone. He'll be home Thursday!!! Talk to you girls in the morning! marti |
Hi everyone
Just popping in really quickly to say hi to everyone and welcome to all the new names that have popped up. Have been dealing with a sick little guy for the last few weeks. Last week he was fighting the chicken pox and this week he has the mumps... poor baby. (yes he got these from the vaccination that is suppose to stop him from getting these) Marti, my daughter will be 15 on the 23rd. Have you been hearing "JUST 7 more days until my birthday?" Thats what we hear. Then she says 361 days until she can get her drivers license. Susan good luck on your meeting. How far does he live from you? Jana you have the cutest grandchildren. Do you get to spend alot of time with them? Angie, we were in Calgary a few weekends ago. My hubby always has to stop and Peter's drive in. I waved to you. Will be back in Calgary July 23 as my moms sister is taking DD and I to the Cher concert. Sorry to everyone else, I started a quick reply and can't go back and read what everyone else wrote, so I will pop back in tomorrow. Have a super Tuesday everyone. |
Happy 39th Birthday RosieKate!! :cp::balloons::gift::balloons::cp: Hope you are having a wonderful day, and had a great day at the beach yesterday! Also, happy anniversary!! Cristi - I miss you :( and wish you would just say hello.... Susan - I use unscented Tide liquid. Does my vote count, lol. Well, Les sounds okay... tell him he has to meet me first so I can approve of him or not. He's not hung up on his ex-wife, is he? Sue - good luck with the Hida scan Thursday. Angie - I got married outdoors, right here at the farm. There were flowers everywhere and Neal's mom furnished food and even bought the cakes. Neal loaned me his credit card so I could get a dress. (I was a single mom with absolutely NO extra $$ and my parents had both passed away.) Anyway, we had a traditional wedding cake and then a Groom's cake, too. Which Neal's dog got in to while the ceremony was going on, lol. It was all good. Maybe I'll post a pic... Marti - I think it would be cool to let Jhanai pick out her own stuff... it is so fun to shop with girls her age. When she's a little older, though, she might not like anything you like, just because you DO like it, lol. I haven't heard of Kids Unlimited, but I wonder if it's sort of like Kids Gap? Kathy - awwww, your poor DS!! Well, at least now he's immune to both the chicken pox and mumps. My daughter Mary and her family live approx. 100 feet from me, so I get to spend lots of time with them. We all get along real well, once the boundries were set, lol. Thanks to everyone for commenting on the cuteness of my granddaughters. :D They make my heart full of love when I even think of them - no joke. I promise that when you guys get grandkids, I'll look at their pictures and listen to your stories about them, ok? I have to tackle Mt. Washmore today and run the Swiffer duster around the house. I can probably pay Katie to run the sweeper, lol. She always needs gas money. Tootles, |
Well, we may have a single site for both the ceremony and the reception now. We went to see the reception site, and James liked it. I asked about the possibility of having the ceremony there too, and the building manager loved the idea. He has to get clearance from his bosses to let us use the additional space for the wedding, but he is really excited about the idea, and wants to let us use it at no extra charge. I'm waiting to hear back from him, then everything is a go.
I weighed myself yesterday, and I weigh 232 lbs. My all-time high was 259 - about three years ago. LibraryKate |
"She wants some clothes at this particular store....Kids Unlimited. Any one hear of it?"
Marti ~ I've never heard of it, and Google comes up empty, so I suspect that where she really wants to go is Limited Too, which is the little girls' division of The Limited. They do have really cute clothes. It won't let me post a valid URL, but you can find their site at limitedtoo d o t c o m LibraryKate |
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!
I had a long post and lost it! I haven't lost a post in ages, bummer. Anyway, now I will have to make this a quickie and just say Hi ladies. Wanted to check in and let ya know I am alive and am missing you all. Haven't spent much time on the 'puter lately and I am having withdrawals. Anywho...Hi to everyone and WELCOME to all the newcomers. Thought I was on the wrong thread for a few minutes with all the newbies. :) Take care ladies. I will try to get back on in a couple of days.

Long posts today!!
:gift::hb::balloons: Happy Birthday RosieKate!! :gift::hb::balloons:
Cristi--So glad to hear from you!!! Missed reading your post!! We've been thinking of you!! So come back as soon as you can and post!! LibraryKate--How wonderful to find a place you can have both the wedding and the reception!! Do you have your dress picked out yet?? Congrats on the weight you've lost so far!! That's fantastic!! About the kids store...you're right. My daughter informed me last night that I was getting it wrong!! Should be fun to shop. Jana--I'm hoping that I won't get to brag about my grandchildren for a LONG LONG time!!! :D But I will keep bragging about Jhanai and my niece!! Jhanai already has talked about things that SHE likes that I don't particularly care for. Then she just pipes up saying...."I'm the one whose wearing it mom" Kathy--Your poor son!! How old is he? When Jhanai was a baby she was sick constantly. I felt like such an unfit mother!! I think that's where I got all the gray hairs!! :D And yes...I've been hearing the countdown for the birthday!! She has even talked about how many years before she turns 16 for a license. She started that when she was 8!! It's like....."Hey...slow down and enjoy being a kid!" ----wait a minute...didn't my parents use to say that? Susan--Using company time to talk with the new guy??? Shame on you!! ;) Hope he turns out to be a great guy. Just make sure that you send him out to each and everyone of us for an approval!! Angie--There was a girl in school that I had in a class EVERY term...we sat next to each other and even went out and had lunch together. We would yap about all kinds of things and some of the stuff I would say she would just look at me and say....are you sure you're 33? She just turned 20. I think it's a combination of both of us being mature and immature!! I have friends that are 43 & 52......and I really enjoy their company! So you can never go by an age when it comes to friends. (I think it gives us more things to talk about!) Sue--Do you walk in the mornings at all before the sun comes out? I always think about it and sometimes actually get out of bed and do it....but I haven't done anything with getting up early lately!! I hope you start to feeling better and that the scan will let you know what's wrong. Jen--You can have my kittens. Just come on over and get them. We're actually keeping one, but James is trying to talk me into keeping two. So won't he feel bad getting rid of the other two???? I'm sure if we lived out in the country and had lots of land...we'd keep all the cats and I'm sure he'd add like maybe 10 more chihuahua's!!! Enough to drive me insane. :dizzy: Hello to the rest of you girls out there!! I'm going to attempt to tackle some weeds today. I had a very restless night last night so I may not do that at all. (sore and achey!) I may just go to my grandpa's and have a little visit. So I'm going to hop into the shower and get myself together. Take care Marti |
Hiya ladies,
LibraryKate - what is gmail? I know email and snail mail... but not gmail! Glad you found a place for the wedding and reception both. Your guests will love you for it! Cristi - so good to hear from you!!! Don'tcha just hate losing a long post? It happens to me every once in awhile... Stop back in as soon as you can. Marti - yeah, I know Limited, Too for little girls. There's one in the mall in Evansville and I've noticed they have really cute, fashionable things. Hope you were able to visit your grandpa - wish I could visit mine! How's he doing, anyway? Is he keeping busy with things? I hope he isn't mourning too much of the time.... tell him Jana from Indiana says Hello. Hi to the other JLs... Well, I was going to do some things outdoors, but a shower came up out of the blue, so here I am. I organized all my photos today. I get so many of them that it's hard to keep track and place them in the right album, but I'm all caught up. :cp: Now if I could just do some more scrapbook pages! But I sort of associate that with winter for some reason. BBL, |
It's me again!
Just got back spending the afternoon with grandpa. Made us lunch, then I helped with the watering of his flowers. His yard is absolutely beautiful! I will have to take a picture of his house sometime to share. We spent a couple hours tinkering around his yard, him telling me what I should grow in my yard for next year...me asking all kinds of questions on how to keep them alive!! (James & I have been known to kill our plants!) I asked him how much it would cost him for material to make me a book shelf. He has one in his house that is beautiful and I have always wanted one, but only half the width. He told me that he has plenty of lumber and will make me one. Not to worry about paying. Of coarse I will give him something!! He has spoiled me quite a bit over the years and never asks for anything in return! My grandparents have always been that way!! So I'm pretty excited about that. After helping with all his roses, I felt I had to get home and trim mine! Jana--I was thinking the same thing about scrapbooking. When the weather is cold and dreary out, that is when I'm in the mood for it. I have gotten the stuff out the other day when it was raining, but found that I wanted to get my patio cleaned up. It was raining but warm enough to work outside. LibraryKate--I too was curious about the gmail. I have never heard of it. Let us know about your dress once you get one too!! Always wanted a wedding dress....just never had the big wedding to get one. Ok...I think I'm going to go ahead and trim some bushes outside. Marti |
