Evening ladies....

It's 10:30 and I am so sore!! I may have a self-propelled mower, but man....I had to pull it (has no reverse on it) in some spots and my hips ache and my shoulders ache!! Never did pull weeds like I wanted. I figured I would do that tomorrow. (If I have the energy)

Well, I'm finished reading one of the romance novels I got from grandma's. :D It was pretty good. Not ever chapter had a sex scene!! Those are the kinds of romance novels I like. It was based in Oregon so that made it more interesting to read. It's called: C is for Cowboy by Lisa Jackson. Pretty good. I started reading it last night. Then after working in the yard I spent the afternoon finishing reading it! (when I get into a book, I really get into a book)

Trying to figure out what all I'm getting Jhanai for her birthday. Either tomorrow or Wednesday I am going shopping. She wants some clothes at this particular store....Kids Unlimited. Any one hear of it? She has NEVER asked to go shopping for clothes at a certain place before, so this ought to be fun. I may just take her in there myself instead of buying ahead..that way she can choose stuff herself!

Well I thought I would pop in before I head off to bed. I may start in on one of the other books I have. Lonely here at nights with James gone. He'll be home Thursday!!!

Talk to you girls in the morning!

Hi everyone

Just popping in really quickly to say hi to everyone and welcome to all the new names that have popped up.

Have been dealing with a sick little guy for the last few weeks. Last week he was fighting the chicken pox and this week he has the mumps... poor baby. (yes he got these from the vaccination that is suppose to stop him from getting these)

Marti, my daughter will be 15 on the 23rd. Have you been hearing "JUST 7 more days until my birthday?" Thats what we hear. Then she says 361 days until she can get her drivers license.

Susan good luck on your meeting. How far does he live from you?

Jana you have the cutest grandchildren. Do you get to spend alot of time with them?

Angie, we were in Calgary a few weekends ago. My hubby always has to stop and Peter's drive in. I waved to you. Will be back in Calgary July 23 as my moms sister is taking DD and I to the Cher concert.

Sorry to everyone else, I started a quick reply and can't go back and read what everyone else wrote, so I will pop back in tomorrow.

Have a super Tuesday everyone.

Happy 39th Birthday RosieKate!!

:cp::balloons::gift::balloons::cp:

Hope you are having a wonderful day, and had a great day at the beach yesterday! Also, happy anniversary!!

Cristi - I miss you :( and wish you would just say hello....

Susan - I use unscented Tide liquid. Does my vote count, lol. Well, Les sounds okay... tell him he has to meet me first so I can approve of him or not. He's not hung up on his ex-wife, is he?

Sue - good luck with the Hida scan Thursday.

Angie - I got married outdoors, right here at the farm. There were flowers everywhere and Neal's mom furnished food and even bought the cakes. Neal loaned me his credit card so I could get a dress. (I was a single mom with absolutely NO extra $$ and my parents had both passed away.) Anyway, we had a traditional wedding cake and then a Groom's cake, too. Which Neal's dog got in to while the ceremony was going on, lol. It was all good. Maybe I'll post a pic...

Marti - I think it would be cool to let Jhanai pick out her own stuff... it is so fun to shop with girls her age. When she's a little older, though, she might not like anything you like, just because you DO like it, lol. I haven't heard of Kids Unlimited, but I wonder if it's sort of like Kids Gap?

Kathy - awwww, your poor DS!! Well, at least now he's immune to both the chicken pox and mumps. My daughter Mary and her family live approx. 100 feet from me, so I get to spend lots of time with them. We all get along real well, once the boundries were set, lol.

Thanks to everyone for commenting on the cuteness of my granddaughters. :D They make my heart full of love when I even think of them - no joke. I promise that when you guys get grandkids, I'll look at their pictures and listen to your stories about them, ok?

I have to tackle Mt. Washmore today and run the Swiffer duster around the house. I can probably pay Katie to run the sweeper, lol. She always needs gas money.

Tootles,

Well, we may have a single site for both the ceremony and the reception now. We went to see the reception site, and James liked it. I asked about the possibility of having the ceremony there too, and the building manager loved the idea. He has to get clearance from his bosses to let us use the additional space for the wedding, but he is really excited about the idea, and wants to let us use it at no extra charge. I'm waiting to hear back from him, then everything is a go.

I weighed myself yesterday, and I weigh 232 lbs. My all-time high was 259 - about three years ago.

"She wants some clothes at this particular store....Kids Unlimited. Any one hear of it?"

Marti ~ I've never heard of it, and Google comes up empty, so I suspect that where she really wants to go is Limited Too, which is the little girls' division of The Limited. They do have really cute clothes. It won't let me post a valid URL, but you can find their site at limitedtoo d o t c o m

Wanted to check in and let ya know I am alive and am missing you all. Haven't spent much time on the 'puter lately and I am having withdrawals. Anywho...Hi to everyone and WELCOME to all the newcomers. Thought I was on the wrong thread for a few minutes with all the newbies. :) Take care ladies. Long posts today!!

:gift::hb::balloons: Happy Birthday RosieKate!! :gift::hb::balloons:

Cristi--So glad to hear from you!!! Missed reading your post!! We've been thinking of you!! So come back as soon as you can and post!!

LibraryKate--How wonderful to find a place you can have both the wedding and the reception!! Do you have your dress picked out yet?? Congrats on the weight you've lost so far!! That's fantastic!! About the kids store...you're right. My daughter informed me last night that I was getting it wrong!! Should be fun to shop.

Jana--I'm hoping that I won't get to brag about my grandchildren for a LONG LONG time!!! :D But I will keep bragging about Jhanai and my niece!! Jhanai already has talked about things that SHE likes that I don't particularly care for. Then she just pipes up saying...."I'm the one whose wearing it mom"

Kathy--Your poor son!! How old is he? When Jhanai was a baby she was sick constantly. I felt like such an unfit mother!! I think that's where I got all the gray hairs!! :D And yes...I've been hearing the countdown for the birthday!! She has even talked about how many years before she turns 16 for a license. She started that when she was 8!! It's like....."Hey...slow down and enjoy being a kid!" ----wait a minute...didn't my parents use to say that?

Susan--Using company time to talk with the new guy??? Shame on you!! ;) Hope he turns out to be a great guy. Just make sure that you send him out to each and everyone of us for an approval!!

Angie--There was a girl in school that I had in a class EVERY term...we sat next to each other and even went out and had lunch together. We would yap about all kinds of things and some of the stuff I would say she would just look at me and say....are you sure you're 33? She just turned 20. I think it's a combination of both of us being mature and immature!! I have friends that are 43 & 52......and I really enjoy their company! So you can never go by an age when it comes to friends. (I think it gives us more things to talk about!)

Sue--Do you walk in the mornings at all before the sun comes out? I always think about it and sometimes actually get out of bed and do it....but I haven't done anything with getting up early lately!! I hope you start to feeling better and that the scan will let you know what's wrong.

Jen--You can have my kittens. Just come on over and get them. We're actually keeping one, but James is trying to talk me into keeping two. So won't he feel bad getting rid of the other two???? I'm sure if we lived out in the country and had lots of land...we'd keep all the cats and I'm sure he'd add like maybe 10 more chihuahua's!!! Enough to drive me insane. :dizzy:

Hello to the rest of you girls out there!!

I'm going to attempt to tackle some weeds today. I had a very restless night last night so I may not do that at all. (sore and achey!) I may just go to my grandpa's and have a little visit.

So I'm going to hop into the shower and get myself together.

Take care
Marti

Jane 06-15-2004 04:24 PM

Hiya ladies,

LibraryKate - what is gmail? I know email and snail mail... but not gmail! Glad you found a place for the wedding and reception both. Your guests will love you for it!

Cristi - so good to hear from you!!! Don'tcha just hate losing a long post? It happens to me every once in awhile... Stop back in as soon as you can.

Marti - yeah, I know Limited, Too for little girls. There's one in the mall in Evansville and I've noticed they have really cute, fashionable things. Hope you were able to visit your grandpa - wish I could visit mine! How's he doing, anyway? Is he keeping busy with things? I hope he isn't mourning too much of the time.... tell him Jana from Indiana says Hello.

Hi to the other JLs...

Well, I was going to do some things outdoors, but a shower came up out of the blue, so here I am. I organized all my photos today. I get so many of them that it's hard to keep track and place them in the right album, but I'm all caught up. :cp: Now if I could just do some more scrapbook pages! But I sort of associate that with winter for some reason.

BBL,

Marti 06-15-2004 04:43 PM

It's me again!

Just got back spending the afternoon with grandpa. Made us lunch, then I helped with the watering of his flowers. His yard is absolutely beautiful! I will have to take a picture of his house sometime to share. We spent a couple hours tinkering around his yard, him telling me what I should grow in my yard for next year...me asking all kinds of questions on how to keep them alive!! (James & I have been known to kill our plants!) I asked him how much it would cost him for material to make me a book shelf. He has one in his house that is beautiful and I have always wanted one, but only half the width. He told me that he has plenty of lumber and will make me one. Not to worry about paying. Of coarse I will give him something!! He has spoiled me quite a bit over the years and never asks for anything in return! My grandparents have always been that way!! So I'm pretty excited about that. After helping with all his roses, I felt I had to get home and trim mine!

Jana--I was thinking the same thing about scrapbooking. When the weather is cold and dreary out, that is when I'm in the mood for it. I have gotten the stuff out the other day when it was raining, but found that I wanted to get my patio cleaned up. It was raining but warm enough to work outside.

LibraryKate--I too was curious about the gmail. I have never heard of it. Let us know about your dress once you get one too!! Always wanted a wedding dress....just never had the big wedding to get one.

Ok...I think I'm going to go ahead and trim some bushes outside.

Marti

omg- you guys talk too much, I feel behind.........lol

Wonderful to see Cristi posting!!

I just got a call for another manager position within HAP ,she wanted to know if I was interested in it still . I said of course and she said she would schedule me for an interview!! So , happy. It wouldn't be here but over across town, I could still have my own place, just travel to work?? AND in September I would get my supervisor as a boss again because in Sept they are shifting things around....

OMG--- Ben & jerry for everyone!! Of course I have to actually get it but just the offer of an interview makes me feel good.

Marti- just as an FYI.........I am doing research for an article on internet dating, --slash--- meetings.......thus me talking on the phone with Les is pure RESEARCH-- lol......jk........

We talked just for 40 minutes after work, wanted to get some sleep. He lives 30ish minutes away , towards the coast. We do go to the same library and such- Anyway- just talking about him mainly because I get bored saying the same old things. I am not sure I put much stalk in anything happening - though I will say I like him a lot and admire how he single parents.
Also, I don't even know what he looks like!! He didn't have a recent photo, though he says his daughter thinks he looks like Roger Daltry- he is 6 feet and has blonde/light brown hair....

And , yes Jana........your input counts on detergent!! :)

Best get........

My gosh. You guys are posting like mad! I feel like I've missed out on a week instead of a day and a half. I don't have alot of time to post to everyone. I'm working on dinner. Grilled veggies - zuchini, yellow squash, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes. I'm going to have them with some hummus. It's very good. I was waaaaaayyyyyyy off plan yesterday, so today is a "fruit and veggie day" to make up for it. I think I do much better on days I work. Lucky for me, looks like this week is going to lead into OT! Yay! If only I made OT, but I'm salaried.

I took my dog to the beauty shop today. She is B-E-A-U-tiful! Of course I would think that! She spends the whole day there. I dropped her off at 730 this morning and picked her up at 5! Probably took her all day to dry, she has a ton of hair! UGH!

Well, gotta go check on dinner, and I'm hungry.

Hey there--

Did any of you girls watch Oprah today? I found it to be very educational! It was on how to get out of debt and save money. They had this guest speaker, David Bach, who showed way to save money and how you can retire a millionaire!! So of coarse I got my pen and paper out while I watched!! :D There were some VERY good tips. I'm actually going to talk about some of them with James later this week when he comes home. Can you imagine retiring a MILLIONAIRE??? How great would that be??

If anyone is interested....let me know and I will share with ya!! :) The man has a book out called "Automatic Millionaire" I'm thinking of finding it and buying it. I would love to retire financially happy.

Well, that was my little outburst that I had to share. What did everyone else do today? How is the weather in your part of the states?? Nice and sunny today and supposed to be all weekend. Perfect for Jhanai's birthday. I hope RosieKate is enjoying the beach!!

Take Care

Just a quicky to say hi to everyone, even the newbies. It is hard for me to post alot, my computer is constantly crapping on me and It takes forever to get to pages and type stuff. so that is why I am not on a lot anymore. It is very frustrating when I cannot do all I want on here. I need a new computer so I can chat away anytime i want without waiting 5 minutes for the pages to switch back and forth. Anywho, I hope everyoen is doing good and enjoying life. I may post more when I am at work and have a free moment, since the computers are really fast. But it is rare to have more than two minutes break in between taking calls.
So, Howdy to everyone, I wil get back to getting ready for my crappy job.

suetalks 06-15-2004 11:49 PM

Wow...lots to read today. Thanks everyone for the good wishes about my scan on Thurs. I sure am tired of feeling bad. I managed to walk yesterday but felt too bad today. (it rained anyway) We did go to the grocery store and drove to look at a lot for sale. Someone asked about walking early...I am NOT a morning person and have trouble getting away from the coffee cup. :)
I will try to write more soon

Sue
