Mornin' lovelies,

4 points for yesterday! Went for a 10 minute walk with my 5 year old son and it ended up being an hour. We picked flowers and wild strawberries and saw giant turtles in the bog. What a blast! Also mowed the lawn for 30 minutes.....plenty of exercise.

I've been pondering the fact that I've been stuck between 204 and 208 for about 3 months now!! It doesn't seem to matter if I have a good week or a bad week.......nothing seems to change. I've also been having weird intestinal problems for a while now (mainly gas and bloating :o ) So, I did some research yesterday and found that I have all the classic signs of a wheat and/or dairy intolerance. Not really an allergy, but my body doesn't handle them as well as it used to. Apparently that can also cause weight loss stalls. So, I'm gonna try cutting out both until the end of June and see what happens. Keep your fingers :crossed: cuz I don't know what else is gonna fix this slump. And it's getting REALLY OLD!!!

Sunny thoughts.....going to the Maine Fiber Frolic this morning. It's a sheep and goat fair! Woo hoo!! Been dreaming about my old sheepies for two nights. I sure miss them.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Julie

Hi everyone! Short post today....really! My tummy hurts... probably because I'm hungry, but I gotta eat on the go because the darn day is almost over and I still havent taken my sis anywhere!!!! This having no money thing is starting to get old! But anyway.....

Well, I didnt lose or gain this week, so booo! :( But that's ok, I should have known better because I didnt work out all 7 days. That really sucks that I have to do all of that but oh well....I didnt gain so that's good. But my lil sis lost 2 lbs!! So at least it worked for someone this week!

If anyone had said anything on the #71 I don't remember!! I didnt get a chance to try to turkey chilli, but I did try the fatfree weiners from oscar meyer and they were good! I had fixed two hot dogs..but my eyes were bigger than my tummy!!Well I gotta go because the kids are starting to get restless. I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Ladies,

I got 4 points today - I didn't go on my exercise bike, but I had a good walk, which in Sheffield, inevitably involves hills! (Sheffield is built on seven hills). My gym membership runs out at the end of July and it looks like I can't afford to renew it - I am a bit down about it, although I haven't even set foot in there for 2 months! It's sort of the case that I will miss it when it is gone....it was always there if i needed it, and I did go through periods of going regularly. I've got about 6 weeks left of membership - so I suppose i should get my *** down there and make the most of it - the thing is, I think if I do that, I'll be even more upset when I have to stop! :( oh well - I've got quite a little home gym here - bike, weights, ab cradle and mat, so I can get a good workout at home.

FAYE - WTG on your weight loss - that is a great boost to your total!

JAYMI - I hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean about money problems - it gets soooo boring doesn't it? I've finally persuaded Nigel to let me get my haircut....I've put up with it for 3 months now! I had to persuade him how it will benefit my self esteem and make my hair more healthy :blah: :blah: :blah: - but it did the trick! ;) I am so looking forward to getting it cut - it is going to be a real treat!

JULIE - I think you may have something there in the wheat/dairy intolerance thing. I have been thinking the same thing about bread - I LOVE bread and eat far too much of it, even if it is wholegrain! I've decided to do a little experiment and give up bread for a week - I went for 2 days this week and I felt slimmer and less bloated. But then Nige made me toast this morning, and I couldn't say no! I am going to try it for a week and see how I feel, and see what the scales say - part of me hopes it makes no difference as I don't really want to give it up! I'm going to start on Monday, after my weigh in - join me if you want!

CARRI / CAT - I'm sure you'll be losers next week! I might be joining your little club on Monday as I've just looked back over my food journal and realised that it has not been the best of weeks!

Love Amanda x

SUNDAY: Today is Silly Poll Sunday and our Poll this week is, when you have been a very good girl for a very long time, what is your very favorite ice cream to splurge on?

POINTS NOT DONE YESTERDAY:

Julie :bravo:
Amanda :bravo:
Faye :bravo:

WOOHOO AS THEY SAY IN HOCKEY THAT WAS A HAT TRICK FOR YESTERDAY ON POINTS! GOOD JOB GIRLS!

Julie: Milk does that to me kind of. I can eat it and sometimes it will kind of make me sick and others no. Hope finding this info helps you to jump start again!

Jaymi: Glad you liked the "dogs!"

Amanda: Honey, you don't NEED to spend money on a gym you aren't going to use, just use those beautiful legs of yours and walk! Think of it this way, you can get more than just exercise from walking. You get to see beautiful countryside, meet people and it's a great time to just ponder your life and solve your problems because you don't have to concentrate on your feet on the treadmill or how many reps you have done on some machine, etc.

Sorry I didn't get back in here yesterday but I was in pain a lot of the day, then we went out to Walmart to pick up a few things and I almost passed out in the store (BAD BAD HOT FLASH). Came home and made dinner and took my bp med and some lortab for pain and in an hour I was loopy as all get outs and crashed in bed around 7 pm.

I like all chocolate ice cream unless it has mocha flavor because I hate coffee, but I really like Ben and Jerry's Phish Food and who doesn't like Haagan Daz or Dove ice cream? My absolute favorite is this chocolate ice cream they have in my home state. It is called custard and very very creamy and smooth.

Well, I didn't get downstairs cleaned like I wanted to yesterday and it was near 100 degrees here so it got way too hot anyway. I want to go downstairs and tackle it first thing this morning before I go to the pool.

TTFN girlies!

Faye :)

beth_on_the_beach 06-13-2004 10:25 AM

Hello Everyone,

Well like I mentioned earlier my sister is here so I didn't get time to post yesterday. I am leaving tomorrow for SC so I won't be checking in here until late in the week.

As for ice cream is there anyother flavor besides chocolate? If so I'm unaware of it lol.

Hope you're feeling better today Faye.

Julie - I know a lot of people have trouble with wheat. Hope that helps your weight loss.

Amanda - I just gave up my gym membership as well because of the cost. I thought I'd miss it, but I walk instead, like Faye said, and do other things and I don't miss it at all. I certainly don't miss the money going out of my account every month lol.

I think, well I know, what works best is plain old consistence. Doing well 3 days out of the week or having a good week and then a bad one and so forth will do nothing but keep you losing and gaining the same 2 lbs over and over and driving you nuts. It ends up being a lot of work for nothing.

Anyway, take care everyone and I will talk to you later.

Beth

Jaymi_Dol_78 06-13-2004 01:30 PM

Hey everyone!!!! Well I didnt report my pts, I cant' seem to remember all the time!!! Well I got 4 pts for yesterday. Today is to be determined!! I'm aiming for a 4 pt'er, but I havent exercised yet soo I got a long way to go!! I might not get to exercise until tonight my baby still hasnt taken her nap yet. My lil sister is playing X Box and my hubby just got back so I guess he is fixing something to eat or something. No one to watch the baby...and Dora isnt doing as well of a job today!

I did eat breakfast today....."FAYE".... Can I get a pt for that?!?! :^:  :rofl:Anyway, I really like those weiners!!! :lol3: {that sounded funny!!} But seriously, I ate them for breakfast with my eggbeaters!! Yummy and they are only 40 calories!! YAY! But the only place that I've found them is Walmart which is 25 miles away, so when we get some money, I will stock up!! Anyways, I guess we are off to look for swimsuits again! No beach or pool today from the way the weather is! I'd like to get in one or the other...or maybe get a little tan!! :D Well I didnt know if everyone has journals or not, so I'm going to post a picture of me and my sis clowning around last night!!

Oh, did I mention that I stepped on the scale and it had 145 ?!?! I know it's only 1 lb...but its was 1lb to make my goal!! So now I've set a new goal! 135 I hope I can make it!! I wanna try to get to it by July 4th! But that's just an option...I'd be happy to get to it period!! I may even be able to wear a size 13/14 comfortably!!!

:flow1: BETH :flow1: Have fun in SC!! You will be by me!! Hopefully the weather isnt as bad where you are....or you can kiss your walks goodbye...unless you have a raincoat!!

 FAYE  I dont even have hot flashes....anymore!! Ha....but I still get like that when I go into stores...I start sweating and getting dizzy and nauseous....even when I have eaten!!! I hate that!! I hope you feel better though! And I'm glad you DIDNT pass out...that is sooo embarassing!!

:flow2: AMANDA :flow2: You are doing great!!! I'm so proud of you girl!!! Glad youre getting your hair cut! When are you gonna get it done? If you havent been using the gym...no use in trying to keep up your membership...Besides you have been doing great without it! And its cheaper to buy videos and work out at home anyways!!

Silly Poll Sunday!! Well, I dont ever eat ice cream!! One, it's too cold for my teeth!! LOL, and Two, when I start...it's hard to stop! Third, I love bluebell ice cream and they don't make that in SC, plus my favorite all time ice cream is Lemon and they don't make it anymore! But I do like butterfinger blizzards from Dairy Queen and dipped cones!

Ok chickies...we'll I've rambled enough!!! I need to get my butt up and do something!!! I hope everyone has a great day!!!!

cat90 06-13-2004 03:27 PM

Silly Poll, i don't consider icecream a splurge i have it regularly  usually vanilla cos i have it with fruit but my favorite has got to be Haagen Daz Vanilla and Almond Choc Bars :T :T

Nice Pic Jaymi ;) is that your Sis? :) Congrats on the weightloss :cp:

Beth, hope you're feeling better :D

Faye, that treacle tart sounds yucky :p i've never eaten that! and i don't know about clotted cream either :dunno: its whipping cream or double cream that i've had, it does'nt sound very nice "clotted" :p does it? i was watching one of my "english" programs yesterday and the chef was making a spinach and onion tart  i've never heard of that either  so i was wrong in thinking that all tarts are desserts  i'll still keep calling them pies tho'

Amanda, was'nt it you that was growing your hair :?: or am i getting you mixed up with someone else? i've just had 3" cut off mine :) and i'm thinking of going even shorter cos it feels so good :)

Will have to be 100% OP from tomorrow  I want to lose as close to 20lbs over the next 2mths as i can  i've got a lot of work to do.

Amanda Panda 06-13-2004 07:09 PM

dear all,

I've had a good day today - I woke up feeling really crappy with the dreaded PMS, but decided I should keep active. So I set about cleaning my bedroom - now this was not a small job as I have not given it a proper clean and tidy since I moved in 3 years ago! :o It took me 4 hours to clean it from top to bottom - it looks great now, and boy, it was a real workout! I was sweating more than when I go on the exercise bike! And it really helped my PMS - helped work off some of that agitation.

So 4 points for me today!

I am not expecting good news at my weigh in tomorrow :goodscale - I have been a little slack this week because I was unwell at the beginning of the week, and now PMS towards the end of the week - I've had a few 4 pointers, but feel as if I have not made the healthiest choices , for example choosing to eat bread rather than fruit. I'm going to try very hard not to have bread this week - but it may be asking a bit too much of myself when I have PMS, as this is when I most crave bread! I'll give it a try anyway and see how I go.

FAYE - Hope you are feeling better soon!

CAT - Yes. I am growing my hair, but it needs a cut to get it into a good shape and condition! It took me a while to convince Nige that if I get it cut it will grow quicker! - because it will be more healthy. I hate it at the moment because it is at that awful 'inbetween' stage, where I'm growing out all the really short layers that I had - it's too long to style and use wax, but not long enough to tie up! :rollpin: Hopefully my hairdresser will be able to do something with it!

JAYMI - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU! Congratulations on reaching your target - that is a fantastic acheivement - :cheer: :balloons: :cheer: :cb: You look great in your picture - very slim and pretty! Remember now that you only have 14 lbs left to reach your new target that the weight will come off really slow - so don't be disheartened or think you are doing something wrong! The final few pounds are always the hardest - so hang in there! :goodluck:

BETH - hope you have a great time with your sister! I agree with what you said about consistency - it's something I have real trouble with. I hang out on the 100lb club forum and there are people there who have lost huge amounts of weight - they don't have any secret formula or magic pill, they just plugged away at it day after day after day, until 2lb became 20lb, became 100lb! I always give up before I really even get into double figures - because I get disheartened that my weight loss is quite slow - but this time I will just keep plugging away at it until I get there - however long it takes!

SILLY POLL - My fave ice cream has got to be Haagen daz vanilla - I'm not keen on chocolate ice cream - I'd rather have a really rich vanilla with a few chocolate pieces in. My other real fave is raspberry ripple - but I don't see it around much as I think it has gone out of fashion!

Love Amanda xx

gma22 06-14-2004 03:08 AM

MONDAY: Today is Mission Monday and our mission this week is to make our home a "fail safe" environment. Still hiding that bag of oreos, a few doritos still stuffed in a cabinet! Get rid of them this week! I know a lot of you have children, but HEY IS THAT JUNK GOOD FOR THEM JUST BECAUSE THEY AREN'T OVERWEIGHT?????? As for hubby, same is true for him and gently remind him that if he wants to snack, buy them, leave them in his pickup truck or whatever and go out there to eat them like I used to do with dh when he smoked years ago. He wasn't allowed to smoke in the house and since we lived up north with the snow, I hoped having to stand out in the cold would make him quit!

POINTS:

Faye :bravo:
Amanda :bravo:
Jaymi :bravo:

Arm is hurting so decided to get up and set up the morning post.

Amanda: You hang in there sweety and you can get back on track. Now you know why I CLEAN all the time!

Jaymi: You girls are beautiful.

Cat: I know, I thought that about the treacle tart too. Sounded icky to me as well and to me, clotted cream sounds lumpy and that just doesn't sound appetizing!

Beth: Have a marvelous time in SC.

If you guys like bread pudding but not the calories and fat, let me know and I will post a recipe that I made yesterday and is quite yummy! I ate it with just a scoop of Breyers lowfat vanilla and it was a great treat. I took a regular recipe and used ff milk, egg beaters instead of eggs, splenda instead of regular sugar and lower fat butter. The main fat was the small about of butter and what was in the bread, but the regular recipe was 166 cal so I know I whacked a lot off that.

Oh and speaking of butter, have you guys tried the Land of Lakes light butter? I was using I can't Believe it's not Butter light, but looked and found they had the same fat and cal content and one was butter and one margarine so I switched. Only problem is the butter is 3 times the cost of the margarine! :(

Well, my contacts are driving me nuts so I am going to take them out then go downstairs and sit in the recliner and try to rest some. Poor dh worries so much when I stay in bed and toss and turn so I try to just get away from him so he can sleep.

Faye

Satine 06-14-2004 09:25 AM

Morning All - Hope you all had a great weekend, I did but of course it goes by fast when you have work Monday morning ...

Silly Poll Sunday - I live in IN and we have Ritters Frozen Custard, I love it - it is so good ( is that what you were talking about Faye? ), of course I dont have it to often because of its fat content and because I am lactose intolerant...

Julie - I know what you mean about dairy- as I stated above I am lactose intolerant so I really never have dairy, sometimes some cheese or like a 1/2 c of milk with cereal but I have to take pills to have it...good luck...

Amanda - Looking forward to see if you have any weight loss...I need my hair trimmed badly, it is right above my butt and scraggly at bottom...I always get it cut off to my shoulders then let it grow to my butt, then do it all over again...I dont know why either...laziness I guess, ha :D

Jaymi - Congrats on meeting your goal...have fun with your sister!!!

Cathy - good luck on the 20 pounds in two months, that is 10 pounds a month...hard - but I think you can do it the way you exercise, and if you stay OP ... :)

I had two 3 point days over the weekend, no exercise, I couldnt with those cramps... nor did I want to :( ha ha ha
I have already lost 4 pounds of added vacation weight, hope to have the rest off by Friday...so we will see girls....have a great day

gma22 06-14-2004 11:36 AM

ok you guys, I am totally creeped out now! I went to the pool and started exercising and this young black man around 18-20 I would guess came to the pool fully clothed with a backpack (he had done this once before and sat and watched me) This time while I was exercising he sat in a suit on the steps. When I moved to the metal steps to do some more he had come up behind me and I hadn't heard him. Jumped out of my skin. He started telling me to keep my back straight when I did these leg lift things and put his hands on my waist to help. I let that go but then he moved up to where his you know what was shoved up next to me and the hands went up the to breast area. I said excuse me and asked him to back up that I had to have room and did some scissor things with my legs and he grabbed my ankles to "help." So I stopped and pretended to do a lap or two and got out of the pool. He told me he would be happy to show me some exercises (though he knew I have a whole routine that works for me) and I said thank you and left. Now, the problem is, he may or may not have been trying to help, but I DO NOT feel comfortable at the pool now that he knows I am there every morning. (DUMB trusting me told him when he asked how often I worked out, and that was before he got into the water so how was I to know?) I guess I am going to have to wait until evening and drag Jack over there to sit with me now, which makes me mad. I am still shaking from it. I mean I did the best I could not to embarrass him if he really was trying to help and not to possibly make him mad if he had something else in mind, you know? I mean I could have belted him right you know where, but he was pretty fit and could have drowned me easily even as big as I am if it pissed him off. I guess I am trying to convince myself that I handled it correctly.

Carri: Yep, I was talking about Ritters. There are 2- one in Mish and one in SB and the one in Mish was only about 5 miles from the house and we used to go there all the time. I got this thing that was chocolate ice cream, choc syrup, marshmallow stuff and oreo cookies. I have to try and not succumb while we are up there for the 4th!

Thanks for listening guys!

Faye

Jaymi_Dol_78 06-14-2004 12:04 PM

Hi everyone!

Well short post today. I'm in a pretty bad mood, so I'll just leave it at that!! I'm not really sure how or why so I'll wait and explain later!

I only got 3 pts for yesterday, didnt get to exercise, or just didnt I guess. I wanted to earlier but the baby was driving me crazy. That might be why I feel like this, since I havent exercised yet this morning either. Let me change the subject before I start ranting.

Faye- that is tooo scary!! Stuff like that freaks me out....but I am a big scardy cat. A man walking past my car door freaks me out, I always find myself locking them!! Sorry to hear about that though, make hubby come with you!

Satine- Congrats on those 4 lbs!! That is great! and fast too!

Amanda- Thanks soo much, you are so sweet! ;) I'm already dreading it, but that's why I wasnt all that surprised when I didnt really see but a 1 lb loss, and that barely came off. it's probably back on...but I wont be finding out any time soon!! I remember trying to lose those last 5-10 lbs last time...It was excruciating!! But the other part was easier, so now that I've been fighting this war all of this time, the last part shouldnt be so dreadful. I just can't wait!

Cat90- Good luck on losing that 20 lbs!! Will be here cheering you on!!!

Everyone- Thanks for your compliments and comments!! I wouldnt even have met this goal if it werent for you chickies, so thanks sooo much!

Well hopefully I will be able to keep this up. I am going to cancel this stupid AOL today, I am NOT paying 23 bucks for something that cuts off every 5 minutes and takes 10 years to check emails. But If I can't find another email service, then I might be a while before I check in. And since I havent found the library yet. Just wish me luck!

This is supposed to be short...and it is...in my terms... so I will talk with you all later!!

Mirabelly 06-14-2004 12:33 PM

Hi Ladies,
Phew, it's late already! Had to get some shopping done and pick the kids up early today. I ask you, What kind of lame-*** town has their last day of school from 8:30-11 on a MONDAY???? The only reason I took them at all was because they were all doing special stuff with their classes.

Well the weekend was ok, except for the exercise. I felt really out of it....like I was in a haze. I know this is supposed to happen when you "detox" off dairy and wheat, so I hope that's all it was. I feel a little better today. It's AMAZING how just about everything you eat has either milk or wheat products in it. I don't eat much processed food anyway, but sheesh! I'm pretty sure that my main problem is the dairy.......and I'm taking some "good bugs" (probiotics) to try and even out the indigestion. I'm gonna try not having wheat stuff while I"m at it, just to confuse my body and hopefully kick this plateau in the buttocks!

Faye, BUMMER about the pool incident! Talk about CREEPY! It sucks that you have to change your routine, but better safe than sorry. Maybe you could get Jack to join you in the pool? Then it would be fun for both of you. I think you handled it fine, but in these types of things......your instincts are usually right. He probably wasn't just being "helpful". I think I would have told him to flat out NOT TOUCH ME......but it can be really scary, I know. Hope things get back to normal. And don't let it get you down.

Jaymie, CONGRATS on reaching your goal!!! That is so awesome :dancer: :dancer: Your picture was gorgeous too. Good luck finding a new internet service.

Well, gotta fly.......too much to do today. Everyone have a super day!
Julie

Summer Vacation!
Hello Ladies! Sorry I haven't checked-in in a while. I spent most of friday moving out of my dorm and into my parent's house :fr: My computer no longer has intranet so I have to use my father's, so I'm affraid I won't get to check in as often as I'd like...I MISS YOU LADIES! I'm going camping from the 21st to the 24th too so I won't be able to check in then :(

Well, I'm back to 187 which has become infamous as the "before christmas weight". I know its terrible that I'm still fighting that in june...but...at least I'm still fighting.

Add me to the list of no longer having a gym to go to. It actually feels a bit freeing...Although I find jogging MUCH harder than anything I do in a gym, I much perfer the idea of not having a machine, rather, just my mind and body doing the work out.

Jaymie - GREAT JOB!!! you must feel proud.

Faye - hope you are feeling better after that "incident" ... weird stuff.

To everyone else, have a wonderful day and as I saw amanda say yesterday, we all just need to keep pluggin' along.

Satine 06-14-2004 03:23 PM

Faye - I always say that "womens instincts" are right, if you felt he was being inappropriate I am sure he was...I would be feeling exactly like you and I think you did the right thing, BUT yes from now on I would go with dh ...
Take no chances there are too many wierdos out there....

Susan - Sorry to hear that you may not be able to check in with us as much, I wish you all the best of luck with your weightloss and hope to hear from you soon !! :)

Jaymi - I know internet is expensive, we used to have dial up with AOl for $23 but now we have high speed internet for twice the cost, I dont know if it is worth it but my dh wants it so what are ya gonna do...good luck and hope to hear from you soon too!!!

Hope Everyone is having a good afternoon, for a Monday anyway...

cat90 06-14-2004 05:16 PM

Hi Ladies,

I know wanting to take off 20lbs is a bit ambitious but i know i can do it cos i did 30lbs in 3mths once :) did'nt keep it off tho' unfortunately :o  so once i get it off thats what i've got to concentrate on next, keeping it off :D i got weighed this morning and that weight gain i showed on friday was gone :yikes: and i don't know why :dunno: cos i've been completely 'off the wagon' i hope it has gone but i'll wait until friday for my 'official' weigh in :) Today is going really well :cb: walked 4mls this morning and eating good :T i will post a loss this week, i'm determined.

Susan and Jaymi, things won't be the same without you both here  especially Jaymi with her daily rants :lol3:

Faye, that is spooky about that guy :fr: i definitely WOULD NOT go there alone again :nono: or if i did i'd make sure that i told this guy that my husband knew where i was and knew ALL ABOUT HIM! If he is thinking of doing anything bad he'll think twice about it then ;)

gma22 06-14-2004 05:26 PM

POINTS:

Jaymi :cp:
Carri :cp: :cp:
Faye :bravo:

Susan: We will miss you and look forward to hearing from you whenever you can post. Don't fret about the weight, just work at it and it will come off!

Don't worry girlie, told dh about the pool thing and he said he is going over with me in the afternoons or evenings. He told me I was probably the only woman he knew that wouldn't feel threatened and get straight out of the pool! Anyway, it is over and I won't let it happen again because I won't go over there without him.

Feeling really lousy all day today. Mostly because I am dead on tired from last night and the fact I had to take meds at 2 am which I am not even sure have worn off yet so I am going to relax and listen to a book on tape in bed and fall asleep when I fall asleep.

See you in the morning girls!

Faye

Hi Everyone!!

Man where is the time going?!?! I gotta leave another short post. It's late and I need to be sleeping right now, but of course I"m on the computer... I think I need to get my 8 hours of sleep, that could alter your weight loss, and make you grouchy and tired too!!

So just to quickly say why I was so upset today, was because of yesterday's swimsuit shopping expedition! I didnt come back with a swimsuit, but my sis came back with 3! There was an amazing sale....for smaller people! But she even found larges and extra larges...but she doesnt have a stomach with stretch marks and saggy skin on it!! So anyway off of that, just wanted to fill you in!!

I got 4 pts for today!! YAY!! I love those ff weiners, I had a chilli dog today for 265 calories! And that wasnt even the low calorie chilli. Anyway, we played tennis today for 75 minutes.... My hubby is very competitive...so he came over to the court after he got through with basketball. We've only played twice together and I sucked pretty bad! But today...did I give him a run for his money!! He was speechless and actually got tired before me! He didnt even gloat! Ha Ha! Watch out Serena & Venus Williams....Jaymi Williams is coming through!!!

Cat90- I know you an do those 20 lbs and then some!!! Cant wait to see that loss for the week!!

Satine- I love DSL! It is a bit more expensive, but it is worth it to me! At least it is a billion times faster, and it doesnt cut off every 5 minutes. And of course my favorite of all, I can download songs!!! Try downloading it on this crap! Not even worth it!

Scuzin- Glad to hear from you!!! I've been wondering where you've been hiding!! Have fun camping, and hope to hear from ya soon!

Julie- Good luck with your "dairy/wheat thingy!!" All I can say is that I hope it works!! You explained the whole thing before...but dang... too difficult to soak in right now!! I just can't wait to see how much you lose!! Good Luck!!

Ok everyone before I leave, I guess I'll address this stupid internet thingy, well of course I caved in.....again...... at the free for 2 more mths thing. Hey we can keep this up forever if they want to....but I better not EVER see a charge on my credit card!! I dont really want this service at all, but since they don't offer DSL anywhere close to this area, then I have no other choice but to take the free service and get it over with! But seriously, I gotta go for real!! Will talk to you later!!

P.S. My hubby must have read this post for today because he brings home one of those loaves of banana nut bread, that he knows that I can't resist!!! I've ate about 3 little pieces! Good thing I'm under calories today! ~FAYE~wouldnt happen to have a low calorie recipe for that would ya!! Well bye all!

Just checking in!

Hi ladies - I apologize for being MIA. I have had a lot going on since the holiday and last weekend I attended the Landmark Advanced Course, Thursday - Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to midnight! It was so empowering and worth every penny and minute. I had some incredible breakthroughs, resulting in powerful commitments. :)

However, tonight I suffered a major breakdown. In LM that does not necessarily mean crying and hysteria - it is a breakdown in communication or not being your word (failure to keep a commitment). My breakdoown occurred in communication with my DH. I made a decision to own up to and take responsibility for a year-old lie. I am handling the consequences with full acceptance, thanks to my LM experience.

Until I am able to resolve this I will not renew my commitment to post on a regular basis. I do not want to be a bummer. That means you may hear from me on Wednesday (Woes) ;) or only when I have something positive to share.

I rejoice in reading how so many of you are keeping your commitments and your positive, caring posts. Have a great week. Please pray for me.

TUESDAY: Today is Target Tuesday and our target this week is what we drink. We all know about soft drinks, but did you know that juices are very high in sugar and basically not good for you at all. Surprisingly, the worst culprit is apple juice. Try to stay away from caffeine drinks as they drive up the desire for sugar so you just drink more and more. Limit your "other than water" drinks and you will find you will lose more in just this way.

Jaymi: Here you go

LOW FAT BANANA NUT BREAD

1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons fat
free sour cream
2 egg whites
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons
raisins (optional)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 tablespoon reduced fat margarine
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
2 cups unbleached
all-purpose flour

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly
spray two 8x4x2 inch loaf pans with a non-stick cooking spray.
2 Combine the fat free sour cream, egg whites, vanilla,
bananas and margarine and mix on medium speed of electric
mixer until smooth, creamy and well blended.
3 Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and
light brown sugar into the banana mixture. Stir with a spoon
until combined. Add more flour if necessary until a thick
and rather resistant dough is formed. Fold in the optional
nuts. Mix for 1 minute on the low speed of an
electric mixer. Divide dough evenly between the two loaf pans.
4 Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) until golden and
the center tests done. Remove breads from pans immediately
and allow to cool on a rack before slicing.
10 servings/ 1 loaf/ 191 cal/18 fat calories

Mscat: We will miss you and look forward to when you can return. You are most welcome here at any time!

Morning ladies!

I know that I have been MIA for a long time..........long enough that y'all have forgotten about me but thats ok.

Faye, I know that your little pool incident scared ya, but hey if this is a shared pool and there are others there I would not let anyone scare me away. Guess that I am too bold for my own good. Takes alot to scare me away.

MsCat, I understand where you are comming from all too well. I wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers.

Jaymi, great pic! You keep on talking about getting cut off on your internet have you thought about checking for spyware. That can effect many different things, including wether you get booted or not. Good luck on finding a swinsuit. I am going to use my old one. Suits are just too high and there are other things that I need to spend money on(billls bills bills).

Cathy slow and speady wins the race.

Guys, I have been in a huge state of depression lately. Basically getting tired of being a friend who is always there for their friends but when I need to vent or something I get told that I haven't the time for you or I don't like to talk and you do. So basically I have decided to cut myself away from all my friends for awhile. Many of them think because I work 2 jobs that I can handle the pressures of their needs constantly. Sorry to vent.

Here's to a wonderful day

Satine 06-15-2004 09:20 AM

Morning All - No points for me yesterday, I was over my WW points by 3 points which is not that much but I was not OP so no points, my water was low and of course I didnt exercise :D I know I should but it is so hard to get motivated to when you are still losing regularly without it...but I know I need to tone...oh well I will do it when I finally want to...

Jaymi - We do not have DSL but it is just high speed internet through our cable company...it is so fast and it is really nice, but like I said the price is not.

Gigglez - Nice to hear from you. I hope things get better for you...working two jobs would stress me out enough, let alone any other problems I might have....good luck!!

Faye - I love Banana Bread I am going to try that one, have you ever made it?

MSCat816 - Good luck to you...

Cathy, Julie, Susan, Amanda, and everyone else - have a great day...

Mirabelly 06-15-2004 10:45 AM

Morning ladies,

4 points yesterday......woo hoo! Woke up with a migraine and TOM, so not feeling very sunny right now.

Hope everyone has a great day. Going back to bed now.
Julie

cat90 06-15-2004 04:04 PM

Hi Ladies,

Another "short" and enjoyable read from Jaymi  glad to hear that you are staying with the intolerably slow and crappy internet provider you are getting for FREE  and we won't have to live without you ;)

Gigglez, sorry your friends are'nt there for you :( just remember that WE ARE :)

MsCat, sorry you are having a tough time, hope it works out for you.

Julie, have you got out of bed yet? ;) hope you feel better when you do.

Had a pretty good day yesterday :cb: planning on having another one today too  had a rough nights sleep last night and was working 6 - 10am so i'm not feeling like a spring chicken myself :tired: hopefully i'll manage a couple of miles on my treadmill at least

gma22 06-15-2004 05:54 PM

Evening ladies. Hope all went well with you today!

POINTS FOR TODAY:

Jaymi :bravo:
Faye :bravo:
Julie:bravo:

Julie: I am TOM too and feel really crappy. I just wonder how much longer I am going to have to endure this stuff. I am nearly 51 you would think it would be soon! Hope you get to feeling a little better soon!

Sandy: Listen Kiddo, the ladies and I on this thread are always here for you and if you need to vent, please feel free to e-mail or pm me. My ear is always open to anyone who needs to talk at any time!

Today it rained and rained so no pool. I would go by myself, but can't ask dh to sit in the rain even if I am dumb enough to exercise in the rain. Of course, I am sure "the predator" as dh calls him wouldn't want to mess up his hair by coming and bugging me while I was in the pool in the rain! I went from being freaked to being peeved! Little jerk. He must have thought he was adding something to my life by his shenanigans but actually I have a MAN not a boy that does that for me!

Oh, and to explain why I just didn't belt him or why I refuse to go alone now... the pool has 3 sides that are 8 ft privacy fence and one side short chain link, but the community center sits between the chain link fence and it and the high fence blocks the view from EVERYONE unless they walk right up to the chain link fence and look in. Consequently, it is too risky to be there now as I can't be seen if something would happen. DH says he thinks the guy doesn't even live here and knew I was easy prey because the view is so blocked. Who knows?

Well, I have a few things to accomplish tonight as tomorrow is cleaning day. Brother it rolls around quickly!

NIGHTY NIGHT!

Faye ;)

Amanda Panda 06-15-2004 07:38 PM

hi all!

Well I didn't lose any weight this week - PMS arrived just before my weigh day, so I am full of water retention - I feel about twice my normal size and all my clothes feel tight :(

I only got 2 points yesterday - I went off plan with my eating - I'm a nightmare when I have PMS because i just don't give a f***! The whole giving up bread thing hasn't happened - it's just not a good week to try it, although I am doing my best and have cut down. I've managed to stay on track today - i bought some WW chocolate rolls and chocolate cake slices which were on offer in the supermarket - they are both low fat and low points, and should help any chocolate cravings I get over the next week!

FAYE - I don't like the sound of that incident in the pool. Whatever that guys intentions were, he should know better than to invade a woman's personal space and be presumptuous enough to actually touch her. I watched this programme the other day about a personal trainer - he spent the whole session 'play flirting' with his female client, and leaning right on top of her to stretch her muscles - she didn't seem to mind, but I would find it REALLY uncomfortable and inappropriate. It's sad that he has ruined your pool time - but I don't blame you for not wanting to go on your own anymore.

MSCAT - Hope you are okay and sorting things out. May I ask - what is this course you mention - is it some sort of religious group? Come back soon!

SANDYG - I've not forgotton you! I'm so sorry that you have been so put upon and taken for granted. maybe some time out from your friends will help them to realise they need to give aswell as take! Please don't hesitate to vent here - we are all here to help eachother, whatever our problems. :grouphug:

CAT - good luck with your target. It sounds like you are on a mission! No more pizza and beer for you for the next 2 months! :nono:

JAYMI - I had the AOL free trial and found they were awful! They kept causing my computer to crash or freeze up. When I rang to cancel the deal - they offered me another 3 months for free, so I took them up on it until that ran out then went elsewhere! From what I know, in the UK at least, AOL are notoriously rubbish!

CARRIE - Lucky you - losing weight without exercising! I'm sticking well to my WW plan this time (apart from 1 or 2 off days!), but my weight loss is still painfully slow. I'm currently on 26-28 points - do you think I should drop them lower to try to give my body a kick start?. I'm hoping that over the weeks if I keep up the diet and exercise, my metabolism will kick in and I will start dropping more weight. I feel wierd at the moment - like I am about to lose weight, but my body is somehow 'holding 'on to pounds. I feel like if you stuck a pin in me, I would deflate and lose loads - maybe that is just the water retention?

JULIE - Good luck with the wheat and dairy fast - it sounds tough! I'm finding it hard enough just to give up bread for one week (although everythings a battle when I have PMS!). Funnily enough, I was a vegan for 6 years and never touched dairy - but still managed to put on about 40 pounds, God knows how!

Love Amanda x

Jaymi_Dol_78 06-15-2004 10:36 PM

Hello, Hello!

Amanda., you sure said it honey! Aol is rubbish! I had typed my whole message and lost it. Stupid thing froze as usual... But anyway I'm not even going to try and repeat everything...which I'm sure you are all relived to read!! But I will report my day. I have 3 pts for the day, no exercise. I have been trying to wear my pedometer (cheapo one fron McD) But I didnt put it on until about 5 pm. I have only 1679 steps after that!! Well, I've been sitting down since I've gotten home mostly, or standing up for long periods, but not really walking...I did all that this morning!! Oh well, anyway, whatever! I typed on my last post that I was gonna try to exercise anyway, but now I'm too tired. I know I shouldnt give up...but he*l, my calories are way, way too low...*hides from everyone* I cant seem to get myself together, but I will eventually. Tx really done me in! Well let me comment and get this over with before it cuts off again.

Amanda- Sorry about your PMS, I think I have it too! But I've been off my TOM for a week now!! :D You know that it's just water...that is the good thing..it goes away!!

Faye- That recipe is on it's way to my stomach!! Well as soon as I can buy the stuff to do it!! You just don't know how much I need that! My hubby took it with him to work this morning, so I wouldnt be tempted...but he brought it back home...I've been watching it for like 3 hours... I guess not having a lot of calories today works for me today...because I dont think I can keep ignoring it!!

Cat90- You always make me laugh!! I dont know what I'd do if I didnt have you to always make me giggle about the jokes you make about me... Like the short post thingy....You know I didnt realize how long it was until I read your comment and looked back!!! :D I burst out laughing! One day.... I will return the favor!! Ha ha

Julie- Hope you are feeling better! Those headaches are bullcrap!! I take aleve, which is about the best thing not prescribed!! But those TOM headaches are **** for real!!

Satine- Well that shows how much I know!! I thought DSL was the same thing as the one that connects to cable!! Oh well, then I'm not sure which one I had!!! I'm wrong for that one!! I should be ashamed!

Gigglez- Sorry to hear about your depression, I've been through the same thing exactly. I just cut them all off!!! All of their problems were just adding to my stress!! And If I tried to talk about "my" life, they had something to do or was too busy! So I cut them off, some of them are still basically cut off, I talk to them from afar. I send them cards for the holidays, etc. I dont need them anyway, and you don't either! Friendship is a 2 way street. We are your friends here...so feel free to vent...anytime!!

Mscat816- Sorry to hear that you are going through such a rough time, but you can woe and rant every single day if you want to, it is fine with me! He*l I have surely done it!! If you change your mind, I'm here for you, we are all here for you. Always remember that!

I hope I got everyone, if not I"m so sorry. I'm so tired I almost feel delirious! I was soo hyped up before to try to exercise anyway, but I'd rather try to double or triple up tomorrow and finally get some sleep. My sis and hubby are watching the game...which I hate basketball. I'd rather be watching Law and Order, or one of my 10 Golden Girl (8 hr) tapes.... but hey whatever. I have been having MAJOR problems sleeping!! I think playing tennis so late is one problem, because me and my sis be up at 3 am looking homeless!! But I always get up at least by 9, she stays sleep until 12 or 1 and then looks at me like are we going anywhere today!?! I'm going to start going back to sleep early, waking up early, and exercising early. If I can at least get one goal done, everything should be alright! Well let me be off, it's already late.

Scuzin 06-15-2004 11:09 PM

Hi girls,
I'm on my way to a 3 point day...no real exercise :(. I had been doing some heavy duty cleaning and moving so I had been counting that for the last few days. I didn't get a lot of that done today...its so discouraging! I've been gutting the 2 rooms upstairs. They're the bedrooms that my siblings have dumped all of their stuff in when they moved out and became hte general junk rooms...IT IS SO REDICULOUS WHAT :censored: IS THROWN IN THERE!!! I mean...broken candles, mascara from free gift packs, key's to who knows where, a fishing license...from 1997...and endless....ENDLESS hair ties. Th doesn't even BEGIN to describe it. And I have to attempt to organize it because my brother is moving in and I'm moving out. ARG! Ok, vent complete.

Amanda, hope you feel better, I say take it easy for a few days before you attempt to give up bread and let the pms pass.

Welcome back gigglez, come and vent anytime!...we all do!

gma22 06-16-2004 07:30 AM

WEDNESDAY: Today is Wednesday's Woes. Today is the day to get whatever is bothering you off your chest!

Susan: One of the biggest things about cleaning a real mess is NOT to look at the whole thing as a project because it becomes really overwhelming. Divide the room into foour invisible squares and work one square at a time if the room is truly unbearable as a whole. STOP IMMEDIATELY, when it seems to overwhelm, make you want to cry, etc and go and do something relaxing and fun then reconquer it later. As the queen of clean around here believe me when I say it works.

Everyone else, love you and have a great day!

Faye

Mirabelly 06-16-2004 08:11 AM

Good Morning Ladies,
Feeling much better today! Not sure if yesterday was from TOM, the weather, going to bed late, or the giving up dairy/wheat detox thing......probably a combination, huh? I've had to give up coffee temporarily, since I can't drink it without milk. and those non-dairy creamers are just trans-fats and sugar! I know I can get lactose-free milk, but haven't done it yet. Just surviving the morning on herbal tea. Better for me anyway.

I managed 3 points yesterday. No exercise, of course. But I already got in some yoga this morning and I have dance tonight. So, today should be a great day.

Susan, I hate cleaning out junk rooms! Thankfully, I've pretty much gotten rid of them all.....and the habits that make them in the first place. Another tip for if it all gets overwhelming, just work for 15 minutes at a time. Set a timer, and work until it goes off......then get out and do something else for a while. Babysteps will get it done. Or, you could just open a window and get a shovel!

Ok, I know that women who live together, cycle together........but what is it with us all TOM at the same time???? weird :?:

Sandy, hope things look up for you soon. You can always make new friends, don't let them take advantage of you. That's not friendship.

Well, I've got lots to do to make up for yesterday's lazy-fest........so everyone have a great day!

Julie

Satine 06-16-2004 09:24 AM

Morning everyone...hope everyone is good...I was trying to think of a Weds woe and the main thing that is my woe is my job...I am really unhappy and bored with it right now, have been for a long time. I want to stay with the company that I work for but wish to find another internal position, each time I interview I get no where...so I am a little woe-ish about that....plus our darn lawn mower broke so we have to buy a new one, ughhhhh this will not be cheap...with all of the rain we have been having lately our grass is like a foot tall

Amanda - I would say no to going down in points, with what you weigh you need that amount of food to keep you going...I thought about doing that once but was advised over and over not to do it...so I would just "really" stick to plan for 2 weeks and I bet you will see a loss...and I always stay like 2 points under my top range, and I think that really helps, so if you can have like 29 tops, then always have no more than 27....hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions...I feel like I have been doing this plan forever, it is my life, ha ha ha ha

Julie - Glad you are feeling better. I do think that it is weird that we are all getting our TOMS around the same time, hmmmm...thankfully I just got off mine yesterday...you probably did get a headache from the lack of dairy and coffee, caffiene withdrawal headache, I hate those.....

Hey have any of you tried that new Coke product C2? I bought a bottle last night but have not tried it yet...it had like 45 calories per serving, not bad but I just wonder how it tastes, cause I hate the tastes of diet drinks, although I can drink diet A&W, I think that is pretty good....I really dont drink them that often, like once a month or so...

Faye, Cathy, Susan, Jaymi, MSCat816, and everyone have a good day. It is raining here ( yet again ) ...so this is my kind of dreary day.... :sunny:

knobhdy 06-16-2004 12:45 PM

Hi Ladies,
It has been a crazy week. I am now taking two classes as well as teaching full time and it is begining to be stressful. (my woe)
I have been very bad abotu exercising because I have had so much homework to do everynight. I have also been missing lunch almost everyday because of when my classes are (and how long they are.)
Things should get better next week when work is out for the summer.
On the bright side I lost 1 pound last week. Hopefully I will loose again this week, even if it is just because I stopped eating. (I will get better)
Take care ladies.

Amanda Panda 06-16-2004 05:00 PM

Hi all!

Sorry, haven't got time to chat - but just wanted the big boss ( :drill: ) to know I got 4 points yesterday - I even moved up a level on my exercise bike so this weight has got to shift soon!

Got my haircut - maybe that will show at my next weigh in!

gma22 06-17-2004 08:21 AM

THURSDAY: Time for Us THursday. Take time for you today and give yourself a break! IT IS IMPORTANT!

Good morning ladies. Hope everyone is feeling somewhat better.

I decided to leave off doing errands today and do them tomorrow. I can't shop alone until the arm is healed because I can't bear weight on that arm (ie cat litter laundry detergent etc that I need both hands to carry) so I am going to clean house today I think. Yeah, I know, didn't you just do that and the answer is yes, but it is time to do the upstairs again and I want to try and get both levels back together again as far as a cleaning schedule goes. Don't try to analyze this as it doesn't make sense to anyone but me! You know there are things about cleaning I DON'T like to do, mainly dusting, which I hate (I guess because it seems so busy work instead of cleaning.) I am a real oddball as I get great satisfaction out of having a totally clean house. I have worked on it though because I used to throw a fit when anyone put trash in the little trashcans around the house. I would go around behind them and take it out and put it in the one big kitchen trash can downstairs! Jack said to me once with total exasperation, "Why do you have bathroom and bedroom trashcans, then?" Good Point, so I have tried not to freak out week to week about that. I still cannot abide clutter and I see clutter everywhere even where none exists. I completely redid my kitchen countertops because they were driving me nuts with clutter. I can't keep this under total control because Jack is a "lay it down last place I used it" kind of MAN.

I went over to the pool yesterday and decided that I would either do one of two things if this kid showed up again, tell the boy that what he did, though trying to help, was inappropriate and I need to do the work myself, or get out of the pool whenever he would show up. It is not only not fair to Jack to have to sit and bake in the afternoon sun while I am in the pool (Jack only goes in bath water warm pool water and it isn't that warm yet) nor should I be chased away by some horny kid. I never felt threatened in the situation, just uncomfortable once he got too close to me etc. I guess the day it happened I was so shocked by it all I let my mind run away with possibilities, that did not occur. Believe me, I will not take chances with my safety so don't think I am doing that (oh, btw he didn't show up to the pool while I was there)

Well off to do daily chores, to the pool and then back to get this house cleaned.

Faye ;)

Mirabelly 06-17-2004 09:03 AM

Morning ladies.......

4 points yesterday....Woo hoo! Woke up stiff, though, in the upper back/neck area. Wonder if it's from the yoga, the dance, or just sleeping funky? Oh well, that's why God made IcyHot.

Faye, glad you're back to the pool. Hopefully the jerk has moved on.

Knobhdy, your schedule sounds crazy! If you take some time to PLAN your week out (what you'll eat, at least) things will go much smoother, and you won't be tempted to just grab a snickers here and a burger there. If you have a day off, try cutting up veggies and fruit and bagging them for the week. Precooking goes a long way when you're that busy. Good Luck!

Cat--Hope you enjoyed that beer!

Carrie--Hope your job woes work out. Maybe you should think about changing your job completely?

Amanda--how 'bout a picture of your new do? Congrats on moving up on the bike! You're doing great!!

Oh My Gawd! FAYE.....LOOK......BEHIND YOU.........there's a piece of PAPER ON THE FLOOR!!!! :lol3: :lol3:

sorry, just couldn't resist :D

Later babes,
Julie

Scuzin 06-17-2004 01:45 PM

Hello
4 points for yesterday! I'm getting excited about weighing in tomorrow...
Arg...I'm rather frustrated. I had a little...skirmish with my mother this morning and its always the same old stuff. I have been working a lot to get the room upstairs livable for when my brother moves in and she marched up there this morning to look for something of her's. She started making comments about not knowing how I'm going to live with other people, strange considering the stuff in that room isn't even mine, not did I leave it there. She apparently has no idea why I'm even working on it because when I told what had improved she said she didn't care what I had been working on, only what she told me to work on. I don't know...this may seem trivial to y'all but this is springing from years of resentment especially with how clean things are. I'm trying to help and putting in a lot of effort if I may say so and she completely brushes it off. I love my mother very much but she has a distinct way of making her daughter's feel worthless. I honestly don't think she knows me at all. I feel like a completely different person when I'm not living in this house. I feel strong and independant and here I feel like a 13 year old. Fine, I'm not the perfect child, I admit that. But can she be happy about one...ONE THING I do? EVER!?!?! Sorry to be the steriotypical jilted adolescent angry at her mother...its just maddening sometimes.
