Hey Crystal, I'm glad DH called and gave his version of an apology, I'm sure it made you feel better :) Speaking of feeling better, I hope Ally is better the rest of the day - poor thing :( You'll have to tell us all the details of tomorrow's party, of course. Sounds like a lot of fun.

DianeJ 06-04-2004 04:18 PM

Hello, just checking in!

Crystal, I'm glad you got somewhat of an apology from DH, you know him better than anyone else, so as long as you feel you got your point across to him, that's all that matters. I hope Ally feels better soon. My guys get really down from lack of sleep occasionally, especially Ethan. Logan is great at going down for naps, that boy needs his sleep! Ethan on the other hand would run and run until he collapsed in a heap on the floor or in his food, he's done it before. So he's always fighting me on naps. Once he takes one, he's like a whole new kid, but before that he is inconsolable and really down and cranky.

Leigh, that was funny how we both posted at the exact same time and said virtually the same things! Sounds like you are totally enjoying working out, good for you! So what tapes did you actually buy?

Michelle, I'm glad you can feel my pain about being in Phase 1 of SBD. It is really hard right now, especially breakfast. I'm fine once I choke down more eggs, it really does keep me very full and I feel good afterwards. For some reason it never sounds good first thing in the morning. I don't know what my problem is with it. I should try and change it up with a mock danish tomorrow. So enlighten me on Phase 2, what was the first thing you added back and in what quantities? How long do you test that out before adding more carbs. I'd hate to stop losing weight, but I realize it needs to slow down a bit too. I have considered sticking with Phase 1 for a total of 3 weeks to really up my loss. What are your thoughts on that?

Spryng, that carmelized, garlic chicken sounds really yummy! Can you share the recipe with me? It sounds like something that would be OK for my phase of S.beach. Thanks in advanced!

The boys are down, trying to get something in mind for dinner so I don't cave into Friday night pizza, if ya know what I mean! We will be up pricing stuff for our yard sale and I need to make a few flyers for the neighborhood. I hope it goes smoothly, as Steve will have to handle most of the traffic, since the boys can't roam out in the front yard, we'll be inside most of the time.

Well heck, instead of worrying about dinner, I really need to think of lunch!!! Hmm, I have some chicken in the fridge for a big salad, I guess I've decided, now off to eat!

take care everyone,
Di

Hey girls,

Just got back from the ENT with Christian. He first stated that I must take him off of milk because he has so much congestion and mucus flowing. Then he said I could get the surgery done, but to expect a two night stay minimum and at least 2 weeks with no running, travel, rough housing, etc. to try to prevent bleeding. So I think I will have to quit keeping my daycare child. At least til school starts back and he is well recovered from the surgery. He kind of left it up to me to decide if I wanted him to have the surgery. I told them to schedule it, but he said if I changed my mind or he seemed to get better that we could cancel. I am thinking it is the best thing. But now he has me questioning my decision. I know I am exhausted, and that we NEVER have a good nights sleep anymore. He often cries out at night. So I hope that putting him through this will help him, or I will feel so guilty.

I didn't weigh today, I forgot, as I was rushing to get ready to go. Tom is here so I might just wait a day or two.

Crystal... I swear we are married to twins from a different mother!! I go through so much of the same stuff you do. It's so hard to get people to understand your situation, especially if they have never been in your shoes. But unfortunately, I have!! Bottom line is you love the guy "warts" and all( as my former Pastor so kindly put it) so you can't just call it quits. Glad things are better today.

I will be back later, I have to go find tylenol liquid for Christian, he can't have any Advil anymore for a while.

Have a fun evening!

Love to all!!

watkinsguru 06-04-2004 06:14 PM

Thanks Cindi for saying those words. It is hard for people to understand. My dh has no respect for his own mother, therefore, it's hard for him to understand that he should for other women. I mean, he's not the easy kind of guy that so many husband's are.
Anyways, Ally finally threw up and she's running about 102 so I'm calling everyone to cancel her party until Sunday. I hate doing that at the last minute but I didn't want her to be sick with everyone here anyways. Well, I've got to deal with a sick kid and the others are hungry. I might be back around later, I rented some movies for us to watch. TTYL

meltin 06-04-2004 07:12 PM

Di - Good luck with tagging for the sale. I did the South Beach with dh and it wasn't so bad bc he was so on program keeping me motivated. Then when we went to Phase 2, he lost the motivation and so did I. Do you like the spinach muffin things. I thought they were great. I don't know if it is legal, but I put some salsa on my eggs to liven it up. Individual preferences though.

Spryng - First try for JW. I am actually reading Shettles, How to choose the sex of your baby. They say it is 85%, I would love to have a girl, but of course I would love a little boy as much as I love JW. I have to track ovulation, temp, etc. We will see how it works, it is worth a try. Did you do anything different for boy/girl?

Leigh - I have seen that thing for the tub. I was debating on whether to buy, let me know how it works. We went to toy r us and bought JW the Fisher Price walker thing.

Crystal - I am glad that dh kinda said he was sorry. Each relationship is different, we are not here to judge but to help you out.

Cindi - What is the procedure they want to do on Christian? Did I miss that completely? Go with you gut. I have a problem with reading too much to get me worried and second guess. I read tons on labor and nothing is ever like it seems.

We were suppose to go bowling with the young adults group at church, but dh is getting home late and JW is cranky. I already put him to bed. Do they change bedtimes often? When JW was an infant, he would go to bed at 900pm, now 800pm, but the last couple of nights he was ready at 700.
MIL/FIL will be disappointed that he is not coming over. Anyway, I guess it is a night home.

Di - I am with you on that pizza craving. I am so ready to order one right now. I will hold off for now.

MichelleRae 06-04-2004 07:48 PM

Hey girls!!

I got all my running around done and I am totally beat now!! Dinner tonight is turkey chili Yumm!!! I got Taylor and Teagan a little inflatable pool and took them out to play in it. Taylor had a blast but Teagan cried cuz it was cold so we didn't put her in.

Melinda - It's neat that you are getting all ready to try and conceive your next child!! I did a lot of reading when I was ttc Teagan and did all the temp and ovulation tracking etc...but I never believed that you can "choose" the sex of your baby by monitoring all those things, mostly because it is the male sperm that decides the sex, not the womans body. I dunno though, I'm no doctor. :)

Leigh - That tub stool sounds neat. I just use the step stool I got for Taylor and it stores all her bathtoys inside it.

Cindi - I must have missed what procedure they are going to do also. I'm losing my mind in this old age ;) lol jk. Don't ever feel guilty for trying to make your childs life easier, I'm sure they surgery will help him greatly or the doctor would not have recommended it! :) Hang in there girl!! We're here for you!!

Di - The first thing I added when I went to phase II was whole wheat low carb tortillas, now I have soft tacos, and breakfast burritos, and sandwich type wraps. Tortillas are so versatile. If you can find them anywhere I recommend the carb chopper whole wheat tortillas, they have a great texture, not grainy at all. I also added in fruit. I love braeburn apples, but I peel them because I hate apple skin.

Crystal - So glad your hubby gave you his kind of apology. You deserve it!! I'm sorry we don't all understand sometimes, I can imagine its frustrating.

Spryng - Have a great weekend with your Hubby!! Keep us posted on the WI's!!

Ok girls I need to go eat some supper. I'm sure I'll be back later!
Michelle

Loveliam 06-04-2004 07:50 PM

Good Evening!

Hi everyone. Had Thai for dinner (I think that just may be my favorite type of food!). I wasn't sure how to calculate some of the dishes, so I counted it as 12 points, even though there's no possible way I actually consumed that much  THis leaves me 2 points for one of my WW desserts - the most important item of the day, of course.

Di - I bought three of the Tamilee Webb's tapes from her "I Want Those" series - I got the I want Those Abs, I want Those Buns, and I want Those Arms. There's a DVD that has them all on it. If you go to Collage Video, you can read a description and see a clip. Good luck with the yard sale!

Cindi - I send ((hugs)) to you and Christian! Poor guy. I know exactly what you mean about feeling guilty either way.

Crystal - oh no!! I hope Ally is well enough to have the party Sunday. I'm sure you're all disappointed :( Hope she feels better very soon!

Melinda- I am going to try the tub seat this weekend. We'll need to use it on our standard tub, because the tub in our master bedroom is a "garden" tub - the very large kind - and the side isn't normal - it's like a pyramid, if that makes sense :?:

I'm already exhausted  I think I'll eat a zero-point salad to tide me over an hour or so until I indulge in dessert . . .

Loveliam 06-04-2004 07:55 PM

Hey Michelle - we posted at the same time :) This keeps happening to me  I loovvveee Turkey Chili - I have an excellent recipie if you ever want it. I've never looked into how many calories it is (it's a family recipe), but I doubt it can be too high.

I didn't do too much in terms of trying to conceive . . . uh, well, other than the obvious  ;) I mean, I usually know when I'm ovulating, so I was like, "If we're going to get pregnant, it'll be this week." And . . . my due date was nine months to the day of DH's Birthday :D

watkinsguru 06-04-2004 09:14 PM

Well, me and the kids just watched Cheaper By The Dozen, that was cute. It actually made me excited about having another, I love the big family scene, but moreso as the kids get older. Anyways, Ally has thrown up a few times, but now she's sitting up smiling. I hope that was it but we'll see.
Leigh, I've never had Thai food, what kind of stuff is it exactly. I'm sure I wouldn't like it as picky as I am.
Michelle, glad you got your errands ran.
Melinda, I think as they get older and go through their growth spurts they do start to change alot including their sleeping patterns. Think about it, as he is getting bigger and becoming more active, he's probably getting more tired so I think that maybe why he's going to bed earlier. Just wait until they say, can I stay up late tonight, please, please, please.
Anyways, when dh gets home we're gonna watch Matrix Revolutions, the only one we've not seen. I've also got Mona Lisa Smile to watch maybe tomorrow. I was so happy to hear Julia Roberts was preg. with twins. I've watched so many interviews with her and she has wanted this for so long.
Anyways, I hope you are all having a good evening. I'll check in tomorrow. Since the party has been moved to Sunday, I'll clean all day tomorrow. Good Night.

Loveliam 06-04-2004 09:52 PM

Crystal - I meant to mention the Julia Roberts thing to you because she's pregnant with twins and I was thinking it would be neat if you're also pregnant with twins because they'd be born around the same time. But, anyway, the movies sound good. We just watched Master and Commander the other night.

Thai food is Asian. There is always steamed (white) rice. Thai is richly seasoned, and often spicy (though not necessarily). Recipes usually include garlic, chillies, limejuice, lemon grass, ground peanuts, and coconut milk. You probably would not like it if you are somewhat picky - my sister is very picky and does not like Thai at all

MichelleRae 06-04-2004 11:33 PM

Leigh - You got me craving some pad thai now!! I also love thai food!! We have a pretty good thai rest. here but I haven't been able to go in a LONG time lol. My turkey chili was all I had to eat today. Fridays are just so busy for me that I didn't get a chance to eat. I also got a 5 mile walk away the pounds workout in, along with 20 minutes of resistance bands, I know I'm not supposed to do them but my arms need toning up really bad so I did them any way. I would love to have your recipe for turkey chili I just made a quick pot of it store seasoning and tomato sauce, onions, ground turkey, and low sodium kidney beans. Well I better get to bed I'm exhausted after today, I'll see you guys in the morning.

Love to all!!
Michelle

Hi Ladies!

I wanted to pop in! ;)

It has taken me most of the day to skim through all the posts but I made it.... whew...... LOL

I didn't want to go all into detail about my family time but things are settling down here. To make a long story short...My brother and his ex are separated and he is remarried. He has a nine y.o. son who lives with his mom, her two other kids (by diff dad's) and her 4th husband, the grandma, cousin and gf...You get the pic....

Anyways,
My nephew and his mom got into an agruement. He asked if he could stay with us b/c my bro works long hours and went back to college, his wife's in nursing school doing night clinicals. He went back to his moms this week until my bro can move him in at his house.

Anyhow, being a good ;) aunt I have been helping out. I have not had time for myself with four kids here! Cindi, I don't know how you do it :)

I am going to try to start posting regularly again.

Melinda,
Please let me know if you need anything help with the weaning... not physically but advice... I hope the weaning will help with your weight loss! And congrats on ya'll going to try to conceive again! You are a wonderful mom :)

Michelle,
You are going to blow away! You are doing soo very awesome and I know you will be at goal this year! Keep it up! ;) I hope you are enjoying the job!

Geri,
All I gotta say is, you are the WOMAN! I can't believe you do the watp's 4 mile all the time. I did the 3 mile yesterday and I was sore this morning.

Spryng,
Enjoy dh. Please let us know how the weigh in goes. Have you did all the research on breaking a plateau. I am sure you have but I was just checking!

Crystal,
MAJOR Congrats to you on the pregnancy! That is wonderful! :) Hope the kids are feeling better soon :) :) :)

Leigh,
Congrats on your weight loss! I have never heard of those dvd's. How are they???

Cindi,
I am not sure if I missed it but what kind of surgery is Christian having? I will keep him in my prayers.

Di,
Hi! I am Penny :) I am also on SB since February and have lost 23.5 pounds on it so far. I love it! :) I added back old fashioned oatmeal, wheat pitas and my berries, strawberries, raspberries and such.

I am so sorry if I miss anyone! It is going to take me a little while to get back into the posts.

I got in my walk away the pounds dvd's a couple days ago and I am addicted to them!!!!! LOL

I will try to check in tomorrow! We are going to my cousin's to go swimming.

Have a wonderful night! :)
Penny

mompen 06-05-2004 12:14 AM

Leigh,

Speaking of the Thai......
Do you have any kind of recipe for thai chicken.... me and hubby love it but can't find a recipe we like! :)

BIGtimeLOSER 06-05-2004 12:32 AM

Hey everyone!

Christian is having his tonsils and adnoids removed. Even after a week of antibiotics, he is still laying around and seems to be in pain. So I guess it's worth a try to help him get better!

Penny...So glad to see you here again!! Glad your leave of absence didn't have to be very long. Thanks for the prayers!

Well girls, after I said I was going to the store for meds, I never made it! I spent the evening in the ER with Seth who is my 5 year old ds! His older brother Jared(14) was giving him a ride on his bike and Seth's foot got twisted up in the wheel and he broke it in several places. The doc said he couldn't see any hard breaks in the bones, but was concerned about growth plates(whatever those are) and that the breaks in those couldn't be detected by any testing, so he put a half cast on it anyway to be cautious. With the wounds on his foot, he is almost certain there is damage there. Seth has several open wounds, so they don't want to do the whole cast and risk getting those infected. He can't walk at all, they want him on crutches and I am really doubtful he will be able to use them. So we are gonna have a fun weekend and who knows how long after that!! When it rains, it pours!

I had fast food late at night, so my day went wayyyy off plan...heck I might as well end the day with a bowl of ice cream and start back tomorrow, lol!!!!

It may be hard for me to get personal in the days ahead, so I apologize in advance if I don't address everyone when I should. I just don't know what to expect anymore. But I have to read and post as I can to keep my accountability going strong. I have lost all this weight because of you all, so I have to stick with it, on whatever level I can!

OOPS! Duty calls, see you tomorrow, friends!!

watkinsguru 06-05-2004 08:03 AM

Good Morning Ladies

:coffee:

Well, my night was soso, not bad not great. I think I'll get a nap today since the party was moved to tomorrow. Ally didn't throw up all night and she isn't warm this morning and asked for water as soon as she woke up. For whatever reason, she does this occassionally. It just lasts half a day or so and it's over which I'm glad I just don't understand it.
Well, I hope all you girls had a good evening and night.

Penny, I am so glad you are gonna try to come back. Sorry to hear about all the family troubles, but it sounds like you really need us so I'm glad you're back.

Cindi, you can't win for losing. Girl, I am so sorry to hear about Seth. I hope he's okay. Alisa is 5 and I couldn't imagine that happening and her having to be on crutches. Keep us informed. I think as long as you can post once a day, you'll feel good about that. How old is Christian again?

Leigh, that's funny you said that about Julia Roberts, I thought the same thing. I don't know some of that Thai food sounds okay, but there aren't any around here, I'm sure there are in Dallas, but I don't go often enough. When I go to Dallas, it's the Olive Garden, speaking of, sounds really really good right now. You know neat story here, I used to HATE the salad dressing at Olive Garden, and I mean really hate it. When I got pregnant with Alisa, I started craving it and I've loved it ever since. I could eat salad after salad there. I've even tried to find over the counter salad dressings to see if any of them taste similar to Olive Garden.

Michelle, hope you had a good night. We haven't heard much about your neighbors, how's that going?

Well, girls, it's been raining real light most of the night and still is, I think it's gonna be off and on today. So I'm staying in doors and cleaning for tomorrow. Although I've found out that several of the family members won't get to come to the party, I'm sure Ally won't care as long as she gets her cake. That's all she says she wants. Well, I hope you all have a good day and I'll check in later.

Loveliam 06-05-2004 08:23 AM

Hi!

Good morning ladies :) Well, today has begun well. Liam decided that he likes bananas after all - he thought he hated them. Now, he likes them if they are A. Organic, and B. mixed with lots of cereal. This cuts down the sweetness. He likes only bland tasting foods

Michelle - You probably could eat some of the Thai dishes if you didn't eat the rice or noodles, right? Like you could eat just the protein parts - oh, but maybe not the sauces if they have any sugar . . . :?: I'll give you my chili recipe in my next post - I have to get the recipe card, though I make it from memory :D

Penny - Hi! Great to hear from you :) I'm glad the family thing is starting to straighten out. I feel like I have no time to myself with one, so I have no idea how you handle it at all  The workout videos are quite good. I definitely felt it. Also, I like that they're split up into two 15-minute segments each. So, each tape (abs, arms, or buns) has two 15-minute workouts. The first a beginner, and the second an intermediate/advanced. Right now I do two different beginner ones, but one day hope to move on to advanced. I rarely make Thai at home because I like it so much I want to keep it as something "special" I eat out for :)

Cindi - yikes! I'm sorry to hear about Seth's ordeal :( And I know you've made the right decision with Christian, so hopefully he'll get some relief. You've sure had your share of medical issues - I hope everyone gets back on track quickly. Don't worry about not being able to post - just do so when you can and know that we're all here thinking of you and your family. :grouphug:

Crystal - I'm really glad Ally's feeling better! I wonder if you can find a recipe for the Olive Garden salad dressing on the web.

I sat down and broke down the exact amount of time I need each day to work out and stay on top of the house, etc. Then I calculated how much Liam sleeps plus watches a couple of videos. This way, I know I can get certain things done. No workout today - Saturdays are my day off.
Well, I'll check in later. We're going to the zoo today!

mompen 06-05-2004 09:18 AM

Good Morning Ladies,

Crystal,
I am glad Ally is starting to feel better! At least you get one more day of rest before the big day :) Does all your family know about the pregnancy? I really hope Ally enjoys her day :)

Leigh,
Have a great time at the zoo today! How's the weather there? It is very hot and humid here. Is today your official weigh day? Or was it the other day when you were down 1lb? Congrats to you! You are doing awesome :cheer:

Well,
We are going to my cousin's pool today to swim. The kids are really excited. They have the big underground cement one with slide and diving board. Tomorrow we have a bday party at the Children's Museum. I have been as a child and it is a very neat place.

Have a wonderful Saturday :) I will check in later :)

mompen 06-05-2004 09:21 AM

Cindi,
I am so sorry to hear about Seth's foot. When will he have to go back to have it checked? Poor thing! How is he taking it?
Both of my older kids have had tonsils and adneiods removed. Hunter had to stay overnight but Nicholas had same day and went home. They did just fine and was trying to run around when they got home like nothing happened.
I had a harder time keeping them still than anything!

You are definetely in my prayers. :) Penny

mompen 06-05-2004 09:25 AM

Ok Last post..... I promise.. LOL

Leigh,
Girly, You need to change the 33 #'s to lose under your name! You only got 26#'s left now! YAHHH!!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

MichelleRae 06-05-2004 09:27 AM

Good Morning Ladies!!

Penny!!!! I missed you sooo Much!!! :grouphug: I'm glad you came back!! Keep up the good work doing your workouts!!

Cindi - When it rains it pours eh? So sorry to hear about Seths foot!! Poor little guy I hope he gets better quick. Christian will probably feel much better after getting a T&A, I had mine done when I was 24 and it was HORRID!! Taylor is going to need to get hers out too her tonsils are the size of golf balls! Hopefully though he'll have a quick recovery they say that kids heal quicker than adults. We're here for you!

Leigh - I don't think that I could have any thai food I know that several of the sauces have sugar in them and the noodles and rice etc, I could pick out the meat but I'll just save it for a treat! :) How is Liam doing today?

Crystal - I'm glad Ally is feeling better!! I bet she is so excited for her party!!!

Well girls, it's my hubby's birthday today we're just waiting for him to get home from work so we can celebrate with him! Taylor is just so excited to give him his presents! She got mad at me cuz I wouldnt let hergive them to him last night!

I forgot who asked about my neighbors, but, I think they moved out, I can't tell for sure but we haven't seen anyone there for a week! I can hope!! Well Teagan is getting fussy so I better get off here!!
Spryng - Can't wait to hear your WI's!!!

Michelle

Chubba 06-05-2004 10:34 AM

Hi again,

I'm tired of these fly-by's but it's better than nothing!

Penny!!! Yeah, you're back!! Love ya chickie!!!!!

Cindi...HUGS! Do what's right for Christian :) Here's more hugs!

Hi to everyone else. Gotta run!!!!!

meltin 06-05-2004 10:52 AM

Cindi - I would not feel back about the surgery. That is a basic procedure nowadays, probably in and out. It is much better on kids than adults. I had mine out when I was 20. Sorry to hear about Seth. Have a great day with dh.

Leigh - I love Thai food, but I always go overboard when I eat it. Dh does not like it so I have to go with my girlfriends.

Penny - I am so glad you are back. Today was my last morning to nurse JW, I am all right and I think he will be fine. I wore a non-nursing sports bra to the gym this morning. I have heard different things about drying up. Cabbage leaves? One of my gf said that it was worse than childbirth. Anyway, glad to have you back.

MichelleRae 06-05-2004 12:11 PM

Well as I said before that today is hubbys b-day so I did end up caving and making him a birthday cake. But I did use egg substitute rather than whole eggs so that cut a little fat and calories from it. Maybe I will allow a small slice after supper but I'm not sure yet. Dinner tonight, I'm having leftover turkey chili and hubby is going to have a rib eye steak with mushrooms. Tomorrow is our date night!! Yayyy I'm soo excited!!

I'm planning 1.5 hours of exercise today. Does anyone know a good website that shows some exercises? I can't seem to find any using resistance bands. I could go use hubbys dumb bells, I suppose.

Well I thought I would stop and say hello!! HI!! Melinda and Geri, good to see some posts from you!! Keep up the good work guys!!
Michelle

BIGtimeLOSER 06-05-2004 12:59 PM

Michelle, go to the Diet and Fitness portion of iVillage.com, they have exercises galore with instructions and pics to go with them. Maybe they'd have resistance band exercises, too. You are bound to find something you like.

The pharmacy doesn't recommend crutches for someone Seth's age and he is too short for the ones they have anyway, so we are going to wait a day or two and see what the orthopedic doc says. I'd hate for him to break another leg learning to use his crutches. Right now he is rolling around on a mini skate board, lol!! Hope is begging me to take her to the doc because she wants a surgical glove!!! Kids are so funny.

Christian is much happier today. So at least I am not dealing with 2! Gonna get ready to go run errands, be back later!!

MichelleRae 06-05-2004 01:59 PM

Cindi - Great thank you so much for the info at iVillage!! I sooo appreciate it!! I've been looking forever and couldn't find anything. I still did 30 minutes on resistance bands and a 2 mile walk so I have another half hour of exercise to get in for today. I have to wait for hubby to get home cuz Teag is being clingy. Awww how cute seth must be rolling around on his skateboard!!! How funny that Hope wants to go to the doc just to get a glove!! That is cute!

well I'm gonna go take a peak at ivillage see you all later

MichelleRae 06-05-2004 02:05 PM

I wanted to share this with you guys!

Someone posted this on the South Beach board and I wanted to share it with you!

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday Maya
really is a marvel who has led quite an interesting and exciting life.

Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on
television, she said it was "exciting."
Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every
day...like her breasts.
They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first. The
audience laughed so hard they cried.
She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words.

"I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life
goes go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

"I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she
handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled

Zoo, etc.

Hello! Had a wonderful day at the zoo today. For the first time, Liam really noticed the animals. He was awestruck by the pandas, found the otters funny, and absolutely loved the petting zoo (though prefers goats to sheep). And I stayed totally OP!!

Thanks, Penny! I completely forgot that was even there - I changed it so hopefully it will show up with this post.

Michelle - Happy Birthday to DH :D What were his gifts? yeah, when I started thinking about it, I realized Thai may be out for you, though I think theylist some safe Thai options for dining out on the atkins web site. Liam is great today :) Liked the Maya wisdom. Don't you love the name Maya???

Hi, again, Geri!

Melinda - what is DH's favorite food?

Cindi - glad Christian is doing better.

Okay, Mexican tonight, but I already know it will be two shrimp fajitas and 1 no sugar added ice cream for dessert.

MichelleRae 06-05-2004 05:37 PM

Hey girls!!

I got 5 miles in today along with 30 minutes of resistance training!! 105 minutes of exercise!! I hope I will get to wear tank tops this summer or at least near the end, I don't even wear shortsleeves outside the house because I'm embarassed of my arms :( but I'm changing that!

Well I had my chili already for dinner I don't think I'll have a piece of cake until tomorrow when I already plan to go off plan. Who knows though when it comes down to it I'll might end up feeling totally guilty lol. One piece of cake is 400 calories!!! thats almost half the calories I normally eat in a day!!

Leigh - We got hubby the lord of the rings dvd the last one, and we got him a lord of the rings computer game. He is a fan :) as if you couldnt tell lol. Dinner sounds good!!
I love the name Maya too!!

Well I am gonna go and relax a little bit!
TTYL!

Hi Ladies,

Michelle,
Another 5 miles.....ehhh??? Man oh man are you just too good! Congrats :) Please let me know what your weigh in brings you down to tomorrow :)

Geri,
Sorry you are running around! How are you doing???

Melinda,
I didn't have any problems drying up this time. I did with my first b/c I had to quit cold turkey at 4 months old b/c of health reasons and meds. But this time around he was down to one to two feedings a day and I stopped. I never had a problem hurting or really leaking except once I think. Let me know how things are going with it!

Leigh,
I'm glad ya'll had such a fun day at the zoo! Yah for Liam for petting the animals! Was he scared any?

Cindi,
How is Seth feeling? Did they give him any pain meds?

Well, Hubby had the stomach virus a couple days ago... I aired out the whole house, lysoled everywhere he touched, I made him sleep by himself(so no one else would get sick) and I washed all the sheets and blankets he used......
Well What time is it??? Nicholas just woke up came in my room and threw up all over my floor and comforter. Poor baby. I just thought I killed the bug! I am up washing my comforter and the towels I used to clean the floor.

I am just hoping we all don't get it b/c Andrew's party is Saturday coming.

Weigh in is tomorrow so I will let you know how it all goes.... I didn't weigh in last week... I took a break w/ all the added stress!

Have a great night,
Penny

Good morning! Today was my first day waking up at 6am to get stuff done. It's worked well so far. I got in 15 minutes of arm toning, straightened the kitchen, and sorted through Liam's clothes to store the latest too small items. Am saving most of them in case #2 can also use them.

Michelle - your work out dedication is truly admirable. I am in awe as it's so hard for me to be motivated to work out. However, I really like my toning tapes - I really felt the soreness in my abs and thighs yesterday, after my Friday workout, and I'm sure tomorrow my arms will burn :) At least I know it's really working. Lord of the Rings, huh? We have a good friend who's a huge fan too - the husband of the couple who's moving.

Penny - How is Nicholas feeling? He probably caught the bug before DH even started showing symptoms - those thing sare so hard to contain once they're lose
:( Liam was not scared of any animals, but he didn't really like the way the sheep felt when he touched them. He much preferred the goats. I'm not sure why - I love the way sheep cooats feel!

Last night at dinner, our friends asked why I've only been eating 1/2 of my portion of food lately, and DH chimed in: "Oh, she's being very careful about her diet. She's been working really hard at it and has been doing so well." I felt really proud of myself . . . I was surprised how touched I was by these words.

Well, Liam is still asleep! Maybe I'll straighten up even more :D

mompen 06-06-2004 08:03 AM

Leigh,
That is so sweet of dh! It is really nice to know that they realize how hard we are working. And it is even better when they support us on it! Yah for dh! :) He's a gem.

Nicholas is still sick this morning.... He is only 3 1/2 and he didn't make it to the potty this morning....... I need to go buy some more carpet cleaner for my carpet. I just had it professional steamcleaned last week for Andrew's upcoming bday party. But I know it's not his fault. Poor baby! Hubbys only lasted 24 hrs so maybe it won't be too bad.

As for me, I am down one pound this week :cheer: I am now in the next set of numbers! Yah!

Have a great day :)

Crystal, Hope Ally has a wonderful bday today!
:gift: :balloons: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLY! :hb: :hat:

Happy Sunday Morning

Morning Ladies,
Sorry I didn't post anymore yesterday. Actually I got the house cleaned, except for mopping and then dh took us out for Chinese and then went to MIL's to shoot darts and have alittle fun.
Thanks Penny for telling Ally Happy Birthday, her b-day is actually Wednesday the 9th, but thanks. WTG on the pound down. That is great. I am so sorry to hear about the stomach flu, that's what I'm hoping my kids don't have.
Leigh, glad you got up early and enjoyed it.
Well, Ally was great all day yesterday until we left to go eat, she started running fever again but never said her stomach her and never threw up again. When we got to MIL's she fell asleep on the couch. Then Alisa complained about her stomach BUT she does NOT feel like throwing up, she says it HURTS like cramping or something. I think it's gas. Other than that she's fine. I think the party today will take their mind off of not feeling well. I realized Ally is cutting teeth. Can you believe it, 3 years old and cutting her very back molars. One is through but the other just punctured the gum and I'm almost certain that's her problem. She says she doesn't feel great this morning, but her tummy doesn't hurt and she's not running fever. Alisa says same thing, her tummy HURTS. I think I'll try some pepto bismol on her, I really think it's gas, but they don't really know to tell you. I know all my kids have been down and it's weird because I almost know with certain that none of it is related. Andrew earlier this week was teething, he's been great since. Ally's is teething. And Alisa actually ALWAYS complains about her tummy, so does dh. I think Shrek cake will change their mind. My MIL got a Shrek pinata but I'm not sure there will be many kids here. I was expecting about 30 but because I had to reschedule now there's only going to be about 10 people. Oh well.
I slept okay, Andrew slept in the bed with me some of the night, which is weird for him, but at this moment it's almost whatever works for some sleep.
I hope everyone has a Beautiful and Happy Sunday.
Hope everyone had a great evening and night.
TTYL

Chubba 06-06-2004 11:01 AM

Hello all! :coffee:

Crystal...hope the party goes well today and hope the kids are feeling better.

Penny...hope yours is better also. Congrats on the 1 lb down!

Leigh...isn't it great to hear support from Dh? Yesterday mine said "when you stand next to gf1 and gf2 you look really skinny" and I said oh thanks for the compliment I think! "gee honey, when you stand next to the really fat gf you look really skinny" I know he meant well 'cause he's really supportive, but it didn't come out right!

Michelle...I'm really not all that busy lately. It's just that our computer is in the basement rec room and when the weather is nice we don't get down here much. I come down to work out but then if Dh is upstairs with the boys then I feel guilty if I stay down here another 1/2 hour catching up and posting. Right now the boys are playing so I can type alittle. ;) Tony usually decides he wants to grab at the keyboard about now. I did the 3 mi power walk this morning and a little later I'm going for a bike ride with my gf. She only wants to go 10 mi but I wish we were going further. She works full time and must get her gardening and yardwork done today. It's so nice to be able to do some of that during the week. Today's plan is a little wash and then Will & I will wash the Explorer. He'll get soaked but have lots of fun.

With all the rain we had the mosquitos here are horrible. I went out to the veggie garden this morning in shorts and a tshirt to turn on the sprinkler and was literally eaten alive! They love me and Will and we get horrible welts from them and mine will itch for days on end. Bug spray only does so much!!

Melinda...so nice to hear you're going to try for #2. It's getting nicer now because they play together occasionally. It can be tough though but worth it.

Leigh...you're not a bad mom for yelling at Liam...'cause that would mean I'm one...ALOT!!! There are days

I really can't think of anything else...hi to Ginny, Jackie, Di, Spryng (boy, you haven't even snuck in a little post yet? Hi to Dh!!), Ricci...I'm sure I missed someone...so sorry! Have a wonderful day.

Loveliam 06-06-2004 11:09 AM

Penny - :bravo: on the loss! How exciting to be in a new set of numbers. I know I can't wait until I'm in the 150's :) poor, poor Nicholas! I sure hope everyone is back to normal soon.

Crystal - sorry that the kids have not been feeling their best. But, like you said, I'm sure the party will make them feel better  I can't wait to hear all about it and how the cake goes over.

Geri - well, at least you know what DH intends to say! Mosquitos love me too - it's bad. I try to wear repellant, but I hate how it smells. Let us know how Will enjoyed the car wash!

Nothing major to report today. DH and I are having Sushi for lunch and then he's heading out of town. He returns on Friday :( He's reporting on the G-8 Summit in Savannah. I hope he stays safe - there have been lots of terrorist threats. I'll check in later!

BIGtimeLOSER 06-06-2004 12:08 PM

Hey ladies!!

We got the kids settled and went out for dinner last night. I checked in alot. It was a much needed break.

Leigh...is your dh a paper reporter or is he someone I have seen on TV? I hope he stays safe too. Congrats on getting up early and getting a workout in. I actually feel somewhat human after some sleep. My workout will be lots of housework today! I can't even take part of a day off without it really taking it's toll here.

Penny...Congrats on the pound down, I didn't weigh yet. But I think when I do I will have a new number too, only mine will be the first number! *Blush*
Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Oops, dh is ready to run to the store for some things, so I will address the rest of you later.

BTW, Seth is handling things like a trouper!! NO pain meds except Advil and he is becoming a very fast crawler!!! No need for crutches as long as we stick around the house...he even crawled out in the front yard with some neighborhood kids yesterday!! Christian is doing better today too, finally!!! Maybe something that resembles normal again!

Gotta run!!

HAve a great day!!

MichelleRae 06-06-2004 04:52 PM

Hey girls!

Sorry I didn't post earlier but I have been a busy girl! My weigh in was today and I am down 1lb! Which is good considering yesterday I had a piece of dh's bday cake and I was Off plan a whole other day. I wish it were more but oh well!! Next week should be better! Well I'm not getting a walk in today because I Cleaned hotel rooms today cuz the housekeeping at my work really needed help so I told them I would come in. That got me sweating up a storm so I'm counting 1.5 hours of it as my work out! Is that fair? lol

Penny - Congrats on the 1 lb down! Sorry I wasnt home when you called!! You are doing great!!

Geri - Great to see you got a big post in!! Have fun on your bike ride!!

Crystal - I hope the party is fun, I'm sure it will be!!

Leigh - Wow you got a lot done!! My arms are soooo sore from the 30 minutes of resistance training I did yesterday. I keep the girls baby clothes too. Well not all of them but the extra cute ones, I want to be able to give them to them when they are older. A sentimental thing lol. How sweet of dh to make such great comments on your progress!!

Well I really really need a shower now! I'll talk to you guys later!
Michelle

Loveliam 06-06-2004 05:47 PM

Cindi - Wow - Seth really is holding up so well - good for him! And I can't wait for you to post that you're in the 100's :) :D Housework is definitely a workout! DH is a reporter for Fox News Channel- do you watch that station on cable?

Michelle - :cheer: on the 1 lb!!! Be proud. Yes, I'm keeping certain sentimental Liam outfits separately soi I don't accidentally loan them to someone

Well, believe it or not, I have 4 points still left after dinner, so I actually get to indulge in Ben & Jerry's lowfat double fudge brownie frozen yogurt. Now, can you imagine how fattening the regular is if 1/2 cup of the lowfat is 4 points???

watkinsguru 06-06-2004 08:12 PM

Happy Sunday Evening

Hi girls. Been kind of quiet around here.

Michelle, I would definitely count 1.5 hours of hotel cleaning as a workout, you bet. That's great too, to change it up sometimes, you actually start using other muscles that may have gotten less of one otherwise.

Leigh, glad your day has been good. Sorry to hear that dh is going out of town. We'll keep him in our prayers.

Penny, so sorry you've still got that bug hanging around.

Cindi, I am so glad that you and dh went out last night. Glad to hear the kids are returning to somewhat normality.

Well, the party is over and it was okay. The kids did start feeling better. The Shrek cake was so cute. Ally acted shy when opening her gifts, all my kids do so that isn't alot of fun. I got really somewhat ticked if that's the word. My MIL and her dh rode with her parents, my dh's g-parents which NEVER EVER EVER EVER stay anywhere long and EVERYONE knows that, so they didn't eat or stay for cake or presents or nothing. My mom rode with my g-pa which never stays anywhere long. They ate and had cake but asked if they're presents could be open first so they could leave. There was still pinata and bubbles to be blown. And I got mad because my MIL never stays long, which isn't like her personality. She LOVES the kids and being around them. And my mom asked if her present could be first but first she asked if we could skip cake and do presents and I thought, I shouldn't have to hurry Ally's party just because you think you can't stay you know what I mean. Now my mom would've stayed longer, but she knows my g-pa doesn't stay long so that didn't make since. Anyways, it was a good turnout, lots and lots of kids.
Not that y'all care but Ally got new sandals, the dog ate the others, pj's and viewmaster, earrings, clothes, dora doodle pad, barbie coloring book, my little pony and money. I think she did great.
Well, Andrew is getting fussy, I've got to get off for a bit. I'll try to be back, but The Dead Zone returns tonight, so I might not make it. Hope everyone has a great evening.

need2losemore 06-06-2004 08:44 PM

Crystal,
So glad that Ally had a good party. Sorry the grandparents didn't stay long. so, your a Dead zone fan too? Dh and I have been waiting, not so patiently for it to come back on.
Well, yesterday, I took my sister and ds to see Harry Potter. Ds sat on my lap for 2 hours. Its a 2 and a half hour movie. Parts of it scared me. Next weekend dh and I are going to see The day after tomorrow. My monitor is acting up, so if you guys don't see me posting for awhile, you'll know my monitor zonked out. Have a great evening ladies.
