  • I don't know what the heck the voters are thinking? I almost don't want to watch anymore...it's such a joke. Red is still on and Jennifer is gone? Good thing she'll probably have a contract before the night's over. Jeeez. Maybe I should vote hey? lol

Had a good day..nothing too exciting. Went to a different grocery store tonight that is close to Walmart 'cause Dh wanted me to pick something up for him. I should have just gone to the regular store even if it was out of the way. I hate when I don't know where anything is! It's a chain...they should all be set up the same for us stupid people.

Michelle, do you feel better yet? Hope you took it out on the treadmil!!

I'm going to kick butt on my (ooops, here I go again with the kicking butt) 3 mile walk again tomorrow. My scale looked ok even after yesterday's cookie fest. Will work extra hard all week

Welcome Dena...I'm Geri SAHM of 2 boys, Will & Tony, almost 3 and 1 and I hear ya about aggravating Hope you like it here.

Ricci...how old is ds???? The chicks dig scars.... oh, boy! Hope you get over that darn plateau soon.

Leigh...glad the posts are working!! No solids yet? You didn't sneak him any?? New Mom's usually get all kinds of advice from others and usually it's ignore the doctor when it comes to feeding

Well hello to everyone else! I'm going to go find something productive to do. I think I'll mop the kitchen floor since no one's up to walk on it but me. Have a great night everyone and I'll talk to you tomorrow!

PS my morning routine is get up at the crack of dawn with Tony, drink coffee while he drinks a bottle, get everyone breakfast once Will gets up then it's down here to workout...then I worry about the house Me First!! Nighty-nite.
  • Congrats on the exercise Crystal...20 min of "not as intense as you'd like" is better than nothing!
  • Good evening!
Never ever thought I would get back here today, but I got a few minutes to say hi.
I am now CPR certified....don't know if that is good or bad or whatever......and in a way a bit scary. I am almost afraid to use what I know now (don't want to harm anyone). Glad that everyone is doing so well with the flylady- does she still overwhelm with emails daily? I do admit, the ideas were great and I found some of her stuff (meal planning was one thing) helpful. But with me not being home as much- and my computer downstairs (not where I am constantly going past it and it is not on all the time either)- I find it inconvenient. I am jealous of those of you who can keep up with her! My house is not even close to spotless......got more spots than 101 Dalmations!

    Anyway- welcome Dena!!!!!

Guess I'd better scoot and try to get some sleep. Sorry I can't get personal- probably wont till Friday!
    Have a great nite.
    Ginny
  • Good evening ladies!
Ginny congrats on getting CPR certified!!!! Why would you think you'd harm someone? Do you have to push really hard on their chest? And yes, flylady still sends out about 15 emails a day. Some are reminders, some are testimonials, and then some are extra things to do or clean. I don't mind them so much since I check my email a hundred times a day. Hope you get a good nights sleep!
Geri, I agree with you. The red head needs to go... not Jeniffer. What are voters thinking? This is a singing contest not about who is cute or whatever. Disapointing to say the least. And I'm with you on the grocery stores! I wish they were all set up the same too. Would make it easier and faster for us overwhelmed moms who just want to get what's on the list and get out.
Crystal, yes I do live in a very small town. But there are lots of Dairy Queens around here. I like basken robbins better and Braums, but we only have a dairy queen here. But it's nice to know they carry ice cream that is low in pts. All their ice cream is low fat.
Michelle, hope you got on your treadmill tonight. Your dinner sounded great. I love ranch chicken. I plan on making some this upcoming week.
Ricci, sounds like you had a fun day outside! The kids played alot in the backyard today. Are there alot of people doing that vaccine study with you? Hope it goes by fast for you.
Well, we are suppose to have storms all night so I'm sure I won't get much sleep. I just hope I don't end up with 3 kids in bed with me. So I'm off to bed now to get what sleep I can before they hit. TTYL!
  • Hi guys!! Yes I got on the treadmill I had to take out some frustration. I was so disappointed in Idol tonight I really don't wanna watch anymore but I know that I will.
Putting my kids to bed tonight was a nightmare, Teagan (the baby) didnt want to sleep she just wanted to scream and Taylor (2 yo) cried cuz Teagan was getting more attention. ughhhh wanted to pull my hair out, so I called hubby at work and thanked him for helping me put them to bed before he left (sarcastic) so he came home and got the baby to sleep and I got Taylor down thank god I got a moment now Now I need to finish my night time routine and then shower and hit the sack and I'll be ready to do it all over again tomorrow!! Ok guys have a wonderful evening!!!

    Take Care
  • Morning!
Got up for my walk this am...decided to do that instead of a tape. Some fresh air did me some good. Sorry to be so illiterate about Idol.......I have never watched a moment of it at any time. But then I usually do not have much control over the TV at night anyway.......sports rule in my house (not by my choice, but that is the way it is) and Dh will watch any- and I mean any baseball game.

MicheleRae- well, good for Dh that he helped you out with the kids. Sorry you got so upset with Idol- I know I watched a wee bit of the last Bachelorette and got pretty upset with her. Hope you got your shower in!

Spryng- well, did you get any sleep?????? Hope all 3 of your sweeties did not come into bed with you with thunderstorms......they are cute and cuddly but usually real kickers at night!
Gotta go get in the shower......I hope to get to WW today, then Walmart. Have a great day!
    Ginny
  • Howdy gals

Not that I've had all three cups yet, but it's in progress.

Well, I slept pretty good. I feel ready for the new day. My main goal is the inside of the fridge and my regular morning thing and school. I'll be done before lunch. But then I have to find something else to do between lunch and dinner. I usually nap but only for about 30 minutes. Anyway, I'll figure it out.
I've never watched Idol either, not a second of it. My dh does NOT do reality shows. Except the Apprentice which is now over. We watch Alias and The Practice, Smallville and Friends. Which The Practice and Friends only 3 more episodes EVER. I'm gonna be in tears for the next few weeks when I watch Friends, I just know it.

Ginny, I'm usually the first one posting on here in the mornings. Glad to see you up bright and early. Feels good doesn't it? WTG on your CPR, that's big.

Michelle, hope you feel better today. Just think, you've got another week before Idol is on again. Maybe you'll be doing better by then, lol.

Spryng, some kids sleep better when storms hit. Hope yours sleep okay. Hope you get some sleep.

Well, girls, I'll be staying around here again today getting my chores and tasks done. Tomorrow is Friday that's the day I spend mostly away from home. I hope everyone has a great day and I'll be back later.
    TTYL
  • Good Morning . . .
Ahhh, the boards were busy while I was away

Michelle, Geri, and Spryng - tell me about it! I was shocked at American Idol too. Part of me wondered if it was staged or a set-up, but maybe not. Maybe people got lazy and figured the main girls didn't need their votes because they were sure to advance?? I don't know . . . But, Michelle, your treadmill response is a good way of coping

Spryng and Geri - no, I never gave DS food. There were a few reasons why. I love our pediatrician, he's very down to earth and non-alarmist, so I tend to trust his judgment. Because DS has a very sensitive tummy and is on hypoallergenic formula, Dr. thought it was best if we held off introducing solids as long as possible. But, my mother was sure bugging me endlessly about giving him solids! His appointment went well - he's 17 and 1/2 lbs and 27 inches

Spryng - good find at Dairy Queen! I used to live in Kansas . . . we moved away when I was 16.

Geri - Congrats on getting certification!!! I like your morning routine. Sounds a bit like mine: wake up with DS, get him ready, take dog out, put on Baby Einstein so I can make/eat breakfast, make some bottles, get dressed . . . I have been trying a modified flylady. I woke up to a clean sink and clean dishes awaiting me in the dishwasher.

Ricci - I'm glad your son recovered well from the Bike crash. What is this about Yellow Fever??

Crystal - oh, to not have any laundry! A girl can dream I don't think your exercise needs to be too strenuous, as long as your moving, every little bit gets the metabolism going. So keep going.

Today is Gymboree, so I get some exercise. Also took DS for long walk yesterday. Staying OP so far this week. One thing I'm worried about - we have guests visiting us 3 days next week - how do you guys stay OP when guests are visiting? Could you give me your best advice/suggestions?
  • Good Morning all
I TOTALLY agree with you all about American Idol! Could not believe it.
I was going to get up early today and exercise before the kids got up but the baby was up all night so I slept in. Maybe we'll all go for a walk once we get school finished.
Well I'm off to try to get something accompished today.
    See you guys later.
    Dena
  • Good morning all!!!
Leigh, so did you give your ds solids yesterday?? I hope it was fun and you had the camera out! I've only lived in Kansas 1 1/2 years now. I wasn't raised here. I'm starting to like it ok now but I was born and raised in Californina and then we moved to oklahoma when I was 13 (talk about a culture shock, lol) and then here. It's easy for me to stay OP while guests are at MY house. It's when I go to their house that makes it hard. I would find some great recipes you love or want to try and make them part of your plan (they don't have to know that) and eat only what you are allowed and stick with that. What plan are you on again? So just buy what you know you can eat and I'm sure they will eat it too without any problems. When my in-laws come over I just make a low fat meal (without ever telling them because they have this thing about low fat meaning no flavor so I don't want them complaining before they try it) I make a big salad and extra veggies on the side and even a low fat dessert and not once yet have they been able to tell it was low fat. So it works for me and I don't have to go off plan for them. HTH.
Crystal, this is the last season of the practice??? Too sad. I used to love to watch that show but then got caught up in the reality show thing. I guess I'll catch it when it comes out on dvd. That is what I am planning on doing with friends.
Ginny, so glad you got outside this morning! What is the weather like in New York today? Do you guys get hot summers? Yes I did end up getting plenty of sleep. Either we slept through the storms or they neve hit (I think it was the latter) false alarm huh? I hate it when that happens. But it did get me in bed early so I have plenty of energy today! Hope your WW meeting goes well!!!! Sending you skinny vibes for your WI!!
Michelle, sorry your kids were rough to get to sleep. I hope your night went well and you are rested today.
I thought I had until sunday to work on my bedroom but I re-looked at the site and it's over tomorrow. So I need to seriously put some time into my room today. I don't have too much left to go but what is left takes so much time to finish. Today will be hanging all my clean laundry that I pile on a chair in here and that will probably take all morning (I have too much clothes) and tomorrow will be the closets which will also take alot of time because they are disasters. But the rest of the room looks great
What is everyone having for dinner tonight? I'm making soft tacos. I make it about once a week. I really like it with the boca crumbles and 1 pt tortillas. I can eat alot for not many pts.
Ok, guess I will get off of here. TTYL!
  • Hang on....Crystal
So you are a homeschooler too huh? I do believe the community of homeschoolers is growing.
  • Morning Friends!
Oh man, that American Idol was a shocker last night. I'd rather it have been Fantasia over Jennifer! But Red was the one, heck, even George was worse than Jennifer on this week's show!!!

Geri, I like that "ME FIRST" attitude! If I could do that I might actually get the formal exercise in!!

Okay, I have been rather lazy for the past month, but all the Flylady chatter has got me motivated to get back in the swing with routines, etc. No more playing around.

Dh is job hunting and I have been stressing, I am afraid he isn't going back to work when his next day is scheduled. I am trying so hard not to let the stress mess with my head! We all know what happens when it does! I have come too far and I can't mess up now. I peeked at the scale before my weigh in tomorrow and was quite pleased with what I saw. I think my doc will be happy in the AM when she sees what I have done in 3 weeks! I just hope all this chaos here doesn't get in the way. That peek at the scale was enough to keep me going for now, I just hope dh finds a job or goes back to work until he does. I think he's going through a midlife crisis or something! GEEZ!!

I hope you all have a great day, gotta get this house in order, so I'll report my progress in a bit!

    Love to all!!
  • Good morning ladies

Cindi...Dr Phil got me in the "ME FIRST" mode. Luckily, the boys usually let me get the 3 mile walk in every morning. After that...not too much! Tony starts to get clingy. I'm sure he just wants to play with Mama.
What does Dh do and why does he want to quit?

OK Spryng, what's "HTH"? Dummy me can't figure it out Don't quite know what's for dinner yet but I'm going to make a pot of veggie chili that I don't think Dh will eat because it has too many beans in it. It's from meals.com and sounds good. I'll let you know how it turns out. As for the grocery store I have to go back today cause the stupid checker charged me twice for an item that was almost 5 bucks! Arrrrggghhh! So much for convenience. They also didn't have any blueberry pie for Dh's bday so I have to go to our regular store too.

Leigh..cook healthy meals while your guests are in. Most people like chicken breasts (grilled or baked) or even beef tenderloin filets (good when on sale)...lots of veggies on the side and a big salad and a light dessert...lots of recipes out there for low fat/low cal desserts. Since it's getting warmer (somewhere in the world-back in the 40's here ) lighter desserts are good...something with fresh fruit maybe. You can do it!! Glad you're getting your exercise in. I did my 3 mi walk this morning and I'm hoping to get the boys out later in the day.

Dena, I for one cannot get up early to exercise There's something inherently wrong with that to me!! Are all of your kids boys? I wasn't sure about the name Tarin? How do you handle 4???

Ginny, congrats on the CPR training and the walk this morning. I need to get outside today for fresh air. We've been cooped up a couple of days now. It's the rainy/cold spring season.

Hi to eveyone else...gotta go. Tony's craving attention and someone doesn't smell too good right now!
  • It has been a busy week for me. I am in 3 clubs right now and they meet on the same week. Last night I made pasta with my alumni group. It was really a lot of fun. You could eat and drink all you want. I did good and enjoyed the company. It is really not that hard to make.Tonight is Moms Night Out!

Made it to the gym this morning. Ran into a friend. I am in such a zone at the gym that I don't like to talk, but it was good to catch up.

Geri - I need to get JW some sandals. This kid at the gym had a pair of flip flops with a strap on the back so they would not fall off, such a good idea. The mom says they come from surf shops. I think I will look on the web.

Ricci - How is the study going with ever other day? Is it close by?

Michelle - You have 2 kids right. Who is the extra kid in the picture? Just wondering.

Leigh - Did you get a membership for the Gymboree? Is it age appropriate? I will have to try it out. How does Medifast work? Is it all shakes or you have food in there as well?

Ginny - We got Infant CPR certified. I am with you on worrying about messing up. This is such a litigious society, it is sad that you can't just help someone hout. Good to have for your kids though.

Crystal - I am enjoying watching all of the shows about the Aprentice. I think they will all have good jobs lined up. Omarosa and a talk show, who would watch that.

Dena - Welcome, What plan are you doing? Did I miss that part.

Cindi - When do I have to worry about a midlife crisis? Hope your dh finds a job he is happy with.

I better check on the laundry. Happy Thursday!
    Melinda
  • Good Morning Girls!!

Well since the girls were up so late last night they slept til 8 which was wonderful, as I also slept til 8!! The girls are fed and dressed and the house spotless by 9:30 now what to do, I think I'm gonna let Taylor do some watercolor painting which seems to be her new thing along with putting those foam art shape thingies on her pictures. Teagan we're gonna practice standing with her today, and oooohhh I forgot to tell everyone, Teagan has been saying Mama she'll look at me and put her arms up and say mama mama its sooo cute, and shes only 6 months!!

Okay I didn't take great notes so bear with me

Ginny - Good for you getting up and out this morning how nice that must have been!!

Crystal - Have a wonderful day!!

Leigh - Oh man I wish we had a gymboree here, but since there are no creative movement type of activities around here I bought my daughters some DVD's called Mommy and Me and they do the same kind of things they do at gymboree its fun and it lets us bond

Dena - I hear ya on the sleeping in, if my kids will let me then I will lol most of the time I'm up by 6:30/7 am but today they slept til 8!! Woo Hoo!!

Spryng - Hmmmm I hadn't thought about dinner until now that is Perhaps I will make soft tacos too and we can have some of the low carb choc mousse for dessert, well there we go dinner was easy, I'll just copy Spryng

Cindi - Hang in there girlie!! Don't let the stress get to you, just take some time out and breathe, I have to do this sometimes when things seem to be getting too much for me. We're here for you!!

Geri - While your changing diapers wanna come change some at my house too? jk I hope you got your walk in this morning!!

Well, I just looked up and my 2 yo is wrestling with the dog which is pretty hilarious, but I should get going and get her set up for her projects today!! I'll see you guys come lunch time!

    Take Care
