Hello,
I had a much better day today. I think getting to bed early really helped me to feel better, both mentally and physically. I don't have to worry about staying up to late tonight; I'm off work tomorrow so I don't have to get up at 5:30 a.m.--that's when DH gets up and I get up also so we can have breakfast together.

I only went for a walk tonight. I just didn't feel like doing the weights. I'll get back to them next week. I think I just need a break.

The walk did give me a lot of energy. I have a lot planned to do around the house this weekend, so I can feel like things are in place when I start school next week. I planned on cleaning out the fridge and washing it out and also doing the same to this one cabinet where we keep all the spices, salt, etc. Well, when I got home I just went to it and I got those things done. Tomorrow I'm tackling putting away the tree and other holiday decorations and throwing out things in the basement.

I have a weighin tomorrow night and I'm pretty sure I"m going to be up. My workouts have been very low key and then there's all those sugar cookies from last week! I know I didn't do much to burn them off!

Debbie: Don't try and push yourself to much. You have a cold and you need to rest. Thanks again for the quote..I love it and it's going to be my catch phrase for 2005. I'm sharing it with my TOPS group. I'm thinking about having it printed up on magnets so they can put it on the fridge or where ever it might be the best place to see it. I'm giving you all the credit for the phrase..it's a good one!

Holly: Your little guy looks good! I've not ever seen a hockey game! (can you believe that?) but he looks like he has that "fighting" spirt and the attitude of an athlete!

Ok ladies, I'm headed for bed.

See you tomorrow

Morning Ladies!!!
I had a great sleep!!!!
I weighed in last night and I was up 2. Not bad considering it was Christmas. I also ate chinese for dinner on Tues and lunch yesterday.
My starting weight last Jan was 243 and my official final weigh in of the year was 232. That is 11 lbs in the right direction.
I am thankful and proud. It sure beats the upward trend of the last 6 years!!!!
The kids are going for a playdate at 11am and then DS is going for pizza and a sleepover at another friends.
I will plunk them in the tub shortly. They are grubby little creatures right now!
I will have a few hours to myself.
I want to wash the kitchen floor and then vucuum the whole downstairs.I cleared away all the piles of things yesterday. I may dust too. BUT I want to relax, maybe in the tub or just close my eyes and listen to music for a while too.

Debbie~take care of yourslef. Rest is very important. So is vitamin C and lots of fluids.
Susie~I admire you getting up with DH. Mine gets up at the same time. I think (and hope I am right) that he likes the hour to homself in the morning. I LOVE to wake up alone in bed. I cherish those 5 min before all **** breaks loose.
Good luck tonight. Dont forget the progress of the whole year and how your have grown as a person as well!!!!
Jodi~ how ya doin' chick???

Hello to everyone else. Pop in soon!!!!

MyChoice2bfit 12-30-2004 04:07 PM

Hello,
I'm off work today and tomorrow and I have no idea where I've gotton my energy from but I've been cleaning like a mad woman! I got the tree down and the decorations put away.

Durning that process I was cleaning the house, dusting as I took the decorations down and before I put the regular stuff back in their place.

I cleaned the bathroom as soon as I got up this morning and I've done 3 loads of laundrey.

Oh yea, I also read the next chapter in my Accouting book. You heard me right ladies, I'm taking the next class--it starts on Thursday and we were told to have read the chapter and start working on the problems. I'll do the problems on Sunday when my tutor gets here.

I'm fixin to go out to the video store and rent a few movies to have over the holiday. Tommorw DH and I will just relax and then we will get ready to go out to dinner with 5 other couples. New Years Eve is my hubby's b-day, and we always go to his favorite place--The Montgomery Inn-- it's fun, we get all dressed up...long dresses and such and the guys wear there suits. Then we all come back to the house and talk and vist and watch the new year activities on TV. It's a nice time.

My Tops meeting is tonight and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be up. But I'll be down for the year. I just looked at my weight log and the first weigh-in of the year was 1-8-04, and I weighed 262.75. I'd say I'm somewhere between 239 and 245, so I'm going to show a loss; I don't think I'm going to have gained enough to be back at 262.75.

Wow! I didn't realize how much I had lost this year. Gets me excited for next year!

Holly: Congrat's on your weight loss for the year. Doesn't it feel great to know that this year you don't have to regret that you didn't stick to your New Year's Resolution? I can't tell you how many years I always said to myself, "Next year's going to be different"...this year was, for many of us..and just wait for the end of 2005...a lot of us will be living in ONEderland.

I know I can't do it without all of you..so I'm looking forward to having you on the journey with me.

I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Susie

MyChoice2bfit 12-31-2004 10:32 AM

Good morning,
Well, I was up last night on the scales. I had a gain of 2.75 lbs. I wasn't surprised. I've not really tried to go well for the past week. However, I'm ready to hit it again (I was ready yesterday..still feeling that way today!).
Even though I was up at the meeting, I still had a 18.25 lbs loss for the year.

I'm excited about the new year and l all the hopes and dreams of having a clean slate. Ladies, I know we can all make it to ONEderland. Don't ever give up. Work hard for that goal..we have, and we will continue.

I've got some errands to run this morning and then I'm coming home to take a nap so I can be awake at midnight! (I'm getting old..have to take a nap before I go out and party! :D )

I'll check in with everyone tomorrow.

Jodi: Great job on being down for the year! I totally agree that this board keeps me going.

Happy New Year!
Susie

Happy New Year!!!

Its finally here. We dont go out, we just celebrate here. we partied hard when we were young and I guess we are all partied out lol. I'm glad I'm off for 4 days maybe I'll get rid of this cold. I know my weight loss might seem extreme but 1/4/04 I weighed 304 I was at 260 yesterday. That was from going from sitting in that truck almost 24/7. and eating out all the time. seems like everything was either fried or stuck in a bun. Now I work mostly outside on my feet, and eat homecooked meals. The first 30 lbs just fell off, but rest has been a lot harder.
Susie: congratulation on 18 lbs lost, but that is just the begining. I know you are glad to get back in class
Holly: I know what you mean about waking up alone. it doesnt happen often. but it just feels like you dont have to rush into the day.

THIS IS OUR YEAR, THE YEAR OF THE LOSERS!!!

Debbie 01-01-2005 11:42 AM

Goals

Happy new year everyone. For me resolutions dont work, so I use goals instead. here goes.

1) THE BIGGIE!! To weigh 199 by 12/31/05
2) To get on a REGULAR exercise plan
3) be good to myself.

I feel like all of these are do-able. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

BIG HUGS TO ALL

justjodi 01-01-2005 03:55 PM

hello everyone! happy new year!
we went to a small party last night with the kids to my DH's sportsman club. it was nice and not too long we were home by 10pm watched a movie "dodgeball" funny. and then rang in the new year. it was simple and very nice. today i am roasting a turkey for dinner, i made a little stuffing but not enough for leftovers (it is one of my biggest downfalls) it should be done soon. the tree is down, all the presents are put away. my living room is back to normal! life is getting back to normal also. i treated myself yesterday to 2 things to end 2004 a pair of size 16 lee jeans zipper front but stretch and they fit!! and a walk away the pounds DVD. i wore my last pair of size 16 jeans just before i got preg with my DD 16 years ago!! i am so proud of myself for coming this far, i wanted to give up many times but thanks to all of the support in here and from my family i keep plugging along! thank you all so much! i got up this morning after a really good sleep and did the WATP dvd. 2 miles! this is a workout i think i can do at least 3x a week. it wasn't bad at all i broke a sweat but i wasn't killing myself and that is what i need. so feeling good about 2005 so far!!

debbie - great job with your loss so far! it is amazing what a difference changing some eating habits can make. you are going to do great this year too! i'll totally agree with you my first 30lbs came off alot easier too. it gets harder and harder. sticking with it though is the most important thing!

hope you all are enjoying your day!

MyChoice2bfit 01-01-2005 04:26 PM

Hello,
We had a nice evening last night and were with all of our friends and family to ring in the new year. We came home about 1:00 and then went to bed. Slept in until 9:00 this morning. DH slept until 10:00. I used that quiet hour to sort through some bills and things and get some letter written. I like having that quiet time to myself. That's one reason I get up with him at 5:30 a.m. When he leaves at 6:30 I've had my shower, and have ate breakfast, brushed my teeth. I put my hair on velcro rollers after my shower so it will have a lot of body for the day, so then I just do my makeup and I have about 45 min of alone time in the house until work. I adore that time alone!

I didn't really make any new years resolutions; instead I came up with 3 catch phrases that I intend to keep in my formost thoughts so I can become the person I'm working towards. The phrases are:

1. Trim the excess. (I'm talking about the fat, the debt, the mental weights that I carry around)

2. Spread your wings and fly.

3. Take a chance, make a change and break-a-way.

I'm journaling with those 3 phrases in mind everyday.

Debbie: You are doing wonderful with your weightloss. I'm glad you got out of that truck!

Jodi: Size 16 jeans! WOW, that's got to feel great! I think you will come to love those WATP DVD's , they are a great workout but yet it's not to much. That's really what's important to remember about exercise, you want an benefit but you've got to be able to do the workout at least 3 times a week so you can truly benefit from it. You are doing great!

Holly: Happy New Year to you! I love the "Onward and Downward!".

We are going out to dinner with some friends this evening. I'm looking forward to just going out and seeing people. I'm a huge people watcher, so I can entertain myself just about anywhere!

Have a great evening.

Susie

Hollyhock 01-01-2005 08:39 PM

Evening chicks!
We had a party last night.
About 15 people came over.
I am too pooped to party any more!!
It has be a quiet day!
It was a great night, good friends, food, conversatoin, laughs, card playing,dancing........
I was up til 5 and woke at 8. 6 people stayed over night. After coffee and breaky I went back to bed. DH took the kids to hockey. We had supper and now he is in bed.
My angels are watching Strawberry Shortcake eating shrimp and are soon off to bed.
Tomorrow is a totally free day. DS has a hockey practise from 8-9 and those are all the plans!!!!!!!!!! No sunday school til next week.
The house is stil VERY clean!!
I am lovin it. I may snuggle by the fire and read all day long!!

I need to put some thought into goals and post them. I will do that tomorrow too.

Debbie~hope you are getting some R&R and getting over that cold!!

Jodi~ your night and plans for today sound really nice.I suppose I will take down the tree etc tomorrow. The human body is sooo interesting. We weigh the same( I am 5'5")
I wear a 20 and you are in a 16. Wow! BTW. It must feel wonderful to be at your pre kids size!!!!! I love the WATP 2 mile. That needs to be in my goals too.

Susie~glad you had a nice night out and sleep in!! I LOVE your goals.

We have all had success in our lives and weight this year!!! Very excitng and motivating.
I adore you chicks!!!!!! I know for certain I could not have done it without you all!!!!!

((((((((HUGS))))))))

justjodi 01-02-2005 11:44 AM

good morning everyone!
feeling good and rested today, nice long weekend. you all sound like things are going well.
holly- it is funny. i am 5'7" i just dared myself to try on the next smallest size and they fit, they are relaxed cut and have some lycra for stretch but i can zip 'em and sit down so i am thrilled!! you party sonds like it was great! nice finish to the holiday season!

suzy- welcome back! of course you can hop right in! good luck getting back with it! i am in the process myself!

mychoice- i like your catch phrases! they all have a good amount of meaning! good luck with your goals, and with starting back to school!
have a great day everyone!

Hollyhock 01-02-2005 12:06 PM

Jodi~ glad you are rested and all is well!!!!

Apparently when you twirl through the kitchen with a full glass of wine and wipe it up with a towel the floor gets sticky. LOL!!!!
The floor is now mopped. Got some wash in. Kids go back to school tomorrow. They both cried when I told them.I suppose I should be flattered that they like being home with me so much. In about 10 years I will be way uncool, I am sure.
I have never set goals for myself but feel like I want to now. I think that because I have had some success that I feel goals are attainable.
My weightloss goals are-

short term~ to weigh 220, by losing 1 lb a week, that takes me to Mar 16
long term~ to weigh 200, by losing 1 lb a week, will take me to July 21, my 40th birthday, this is my pre pregnancy weight,I was 190 when I met DH.

I will WATP 2 mile 3x aweek
I will do yoga at least 3x a week, maybe daily

Emotionally, spiritually and mentallly, I am in a great place right now. I will continue on this path!

It is warm today and raining a lot. The snow is all melted and the driveway is a muddy pond.So I have no fire to snuggle to. Because I slept all aft yesterday I stayed up reading til 2am. I was up at 8.I may nap in a bit.
I want to get the kids organized for school.Their laundry is done and have I food for lunches.I just need to sort out their back packs and find library books etc.
DS got his goalie gear today. The whole practise was spent with the other kids taking shots on net. DS did well!!
They have been playing with piantbox on the computer and are now watching a movie. DH is sleeping. He is fighting a cold. And at our ripe age staying up til 5am takes 2 days to recover from.LOL!!
Hope everyone is having a happy, peaceful day!!
