Hello,

The board sure gets slow over the weekend. That's understandable; people have so much to do over the weekend.

I've had a very busy day. I cleaned house this morning. My tutor for Accounting came over and worked with me on homework for 2 hours. She said it went a lot easier than it did 2 weeks ago, and she thinks I'm doing much better--that's sure nice to hear. It's a little more understandable for me, but it sure takes me a long time!

I went on a walk after the homework session. It was nice to get out and just clear my head. I have grocery's to go buy here in a little while. I'm also trying to get my closets switched over from spring/summer to fall/winter. Just working on it a bit at a time.

That's my goal for the day: To continue to work a little more on the closets and to look through my new Fitness mag. I find it very motivating.

I hope everyone else is doing well and on plan. Enjoy the day!

Evenin'
I was at the fair last night for 5 hours with the kids to go on unlimited rides!! Today we looked at exhibits and my son Mutton Busted( sheep riding, kin to bull riding). He came in 3rd out of 22, lasted 4.6 seconds. He is a beaming little boy!!
I picked up a roasted chicken this aft, so all I had to whip up was veggies. I have my friends 2 year old here for the night. Can you say ,sweety!? If we hadn't stopped at 2 our 3rd would be this age right now. I am lovin' it.
I am super tired. I have lots of housework to do.I want to veg in front of the tube.
I have gotten lots of walking in at the fair. I only had 1 bite of a pogo dog and couple of fries. Not too bad.

Susie~sounds like you had a nice productive day. Great work on the accounting.

Hope everyone is on plan and having fun!

Default I'm back...again...

Hello everyone...do you mind if I pop in? Yes, it's me, Girlie...the one who started this thread AGES ago! I have been getting all the replies to this thread and it's so embarassing because I fell off the wagon months ago. For some reason, the summer makes me want to go inside and hide.

Now that Fall is here, I want to get back on the wagon. I started a Healthy Heart class a couple of weeks ago, just to help myself learn about healthy habits. Now I have to start getting the activity in again.

In one month, it will be 1 year wedding anniversary and I'll be darned if I get back to that weight. I had lost some weight earlier in the year...I think it's in my signature but I don't know what that says. I weighed at the gym a couple weeks ago and was around 233 or so. I have gained back at least ten pounds. It's SO hard.

Seems like you guys have a good thing going...do you mind if I start up again? For now, I'm going to head to the gym and I'll update later in the weekend. I think I've hit that low point that we sometimes hit when we fall off the wagon...like it's now or never...so please bear with me. I just can't help but think of how I'd be to ONEderland, well below it, if I'd just kept up and not slacked over the summer. So here's to another try. Hope you guys take me back.

Default Back again.

Hi I'm back. I just got back from the gym. I feel pretty good. I didn't try to do a ton of stuff...just starting by making sure I get at least 45 minutes of cardio in, whether it's walking or riding or elliptical.

I got a good 25 minutes in on the stationary bike and 20 minutes on the elliptical, then stretching. I always feel like I'm doing nothing...but I am. I tend to look at all the other women, some who do an hour of one thing then move onto the next. They are just in a different stage than I am. I'm going to try not to look at them from now on and just make sure I get in my 45 minutes a few times a week. A couple of years ago I used to do an hour on the elliptical machine 4-5 days a week but it would take quite a while for me to get back to that. I think what I did was good.

I also weighed myself...*yikes*...and I did gain 10 pounds of what I lost, so I updated my signature accordingly. A new start. No thinking about what I *should* have done but what I will do.

Hope all of you are well and getting in some activity this lovely weekend. Tomorrow I plan to go back to the gym. I would also like to do my Walk Away the Pounds 3 mile (45 minute) walk a couple of times this week. I really like it.

Mornin',
The boys are at hockey already??!! It is a cold wet morning here.I kinda enjoy it.I have a TON of housework to do and church and then more housework.
I feel slimmer. I haven't been on the scale though. Even though I was sick I did WATP 4 days. I ate a lot on 2 days. I did NOT eat before bed last night!!
I am feeling pretty good today. The bug is in my chest now but it is not bad.
My daughter is super whiny,arg.
My goal for today is 2 eat only 2 starchy carbs ALL DAY and get my house cleaned.
I need to get my head around Thanksgiving next weekend. I am having 19 of hubby's family on Sat and 9 of mine on Mon. I am cooking 2 turkeys. Both families will bring stuff. It will be festive to say the least.

Default Happy Sunday

Hello Everyone.

A lovely Sunday. My weekends are always screwed up. We didn't go to bed until around 3am after reading in bed a bit. We woke up around noon and I had a bowl of cream of wheat and a cup of hot chai.

I'll be heading to the gym around 2pm. I've got a half hour to get some reading in as we listen to Scottish music. I should do some housework! I hope my husband does the dishes!

I will make Sundays my weigh-in day. I guess I'll weigh in again today and make it my official weight, and go each Sunday from now on. I wonder since it's the beginning of a new month, should I give myself an October Challenge? Right now, I just want to get back to 225 and OUT of the 230's. Is 8 pounds in a month okay? I think it's okay for this month...the first month I tend to lose all the water and stuff quicker. OK...so there's my challenge. That means no darn Halloween candy!

Tonite my husband wants to take his mom out for dinner...probably to a buffet. Wish me luck! At least I can get all my veggies in. My goal for my Healthy Heart group is to be sure to get in my 4 veggies a day. That would be no problem at a buffet.

Good day to you all.

Good afternoon everyone,
It's nice to see you all here! I've had a pretty good day. We went to church, then we watched "13 going on 30"--very cute movie! We are headed over to some friends house here in a little bit to have dinner and watch a movie.

I got all the sleeveless and bright color summer shirts, shorts and capris put away, along with all the sandels. I found my fall/winter shoes and brought them up from the basement. Next weekend, I'll have DH bring up the tubs that have the heavier sweaters and things. I'll go through them and also try to go through the dress clothes that are two big for me. I'm going to take those to the consigment shop.

I also planned to go to the Y today for a workout, but decided that I had done enough and I wanted my computer time today and I couldn't do both, so you see which one won!

Girlie: Welcome home! You sound so ready to begin again. We all need to go through those times where we need to find our way back; glad you found your way again.

Holly: The fair sounded like a fun time. You did very well with the food choices also!

Jodi: It's ok to stay the same some weeks. It gives our bodies a chance to catch up with what we have been doing. Isn't it great to look in the mirror and see the difference? You can't help but smile at yourself!

Labchick: It sounds like you had a hetic day on Friday. Hopefully your weekend was a little slower pace.

Well ladies, I need to do up some dishes and things so that when we get home tonight from our friends we can just go to bed.

Remember to be thinking of those daily goals and Girlie had a great idea of setting a challenge for the month. I think I'll think of one myself.

See you all tomorrow!

Default And a good Monday to you...

Hi everyone! My home computer doesn't run this web site very well, so I don't usually check in on the weekends. We are off and running on a fabulous Monday.

MyChoice - Congrats on the 1.5 lbs for the month! Also, good job on getting the summer clothes put up. I thought about getting out my fall decorations all weekend, but never got around to it. I have some on my porch - some pumpkins and a scarecrow. Better get that stuff out or it will be Christmas before I know it!

Girlie - Good to have you back. Thanks for the reminder on Halloween candy. This is going to be a difficult month for us chocolate lovers!

Holly - How could you go to a fair and keep away from all the yummy stuff they have? GREAT JOB! I don't know if I could've done it. (Sorry to hear about the MIL problems; hope things are looking up.)

Annie - Get out of here! Your parents are at 21st & Franklin here in Indy? I know exactly where that's at. You're right...it's a very small world. Do you get to visit much? And where are you located?

Soposh - How's it going? Are you hanging in there? Keep us posted!

Have a great week, ladies...

I am rededicating myself to this weight thing today!!!!! I have been lazy with food.
It will be another busy week since I am having both families here on the weekend for Thanksgiving.I just ordered 2 turkeys.I do LOVE this holiday and time of year.People bring sidedishes. I will bake ahead and freeze desserts.
The house is pretty tidy.I will clean with hubby's help Friday evening.I am moderately busy with babysitting. These kids are angels anyhow.
I will not overeat, I will not eat when I am not hungry, I will not eat to reward myself, I will not eat because I am bored,I will WATP right now!!!!
I will check in later, Have a glorious day!

Default Happy Monday

It's a very groggy Monday for me...but I'm here. I planned to go to the gym at 5am...but hey...that's really early for me! DH woke me up at 12.30a so I could proofread a paper of his (he's working on his Master's degree in History) and I couldn't get back to sleep! Darn DH! When my alarm went off at 5am....there was NO way I was gonna get up. So I'll have to settle for going this evening. I really tried though! I had a cheese stick and two slices of toast for breakfast and I have a pear for mid morning, and my sugar free iced tea. I bring a gallon to work and put it in the fridge so it's there and I won't run to the diet sodas. Trying to stay away from anything carbonated. I did last month and the "time of the month" was totally mild, hardly any bloating or cramps. So I'm going to limit myself to maybe one diet soda a week.

I went to the Chinese buffet last night...pigged out. I did try to eat more fruits and veggies and meats and I managed to stay away from much that was fried or any rice but I still overate. Other than that, I had a pack of cream of wheat yesterday and that's it. Hope it wasn't too bad.

Susie:
Wow, you guys are organized. I have my whole wardrobe in my closet right now. I tend to wear most of the same stuff all year anyway...trousers and shirts and cardigans. I'm always cold inside at work. When I'm at home, I'm wearing sweats or pajamas.

Hevron:
Thanks for the welcome. I am SO glad to be back. The Halloween candy will be hard. It's everywhere! The receptionist here at work has a bowl of candy on her desk and I see it every time I walk in and out the door. I will not forbid myself to it...maybe one snack size piece a day to keep me sane. They now have Quaker chewy oatmeal bars in a snack size for halloween and that's what she has in the bowl, so I will opt for those rather than the Kit Kat's or Reeses'!

Jodi:
Hope the rest of your weekend was nice and hope this week you have your loss

Holly:
Good for you in rededicating yourself. We can do it together

So are any of you following a plan like Weight Watchers, etc? I used to do WW, but fell out. I always tend to keep fiber and the points in mind when I eat. Right now, I'm just trying to make healthy choices.

Smile Mornin'

My 3 year old and I spent some of the morning cuddling in bed and reading stories. It serves two purposes for me: it kindles a love for reading in my son and it keeps me away from the kitchen--both good things!

Girlie - if you are always cold, it may be a sign of an underactive thyroid and that can definitely interfere with your weight loss (just a thought).

Hevron - Halloween is my least favorite holiday because of all the candy. Thankfully, I have only one trick or treater and my hubby and oldest son help him with the candy with a great deal of efficiency

Holly - hats off to you! I think I would collapse in a panic if I had to serve that many people at one time.

MyChoice - WTG on the loss!

Jody - Do you use those lipolysis sticks you can get for the Atkins Diet? The will see a positive regardless of type of diet you are on. I use them as a motivator. If there's no movement on the scales, but I'm still in ketosis, I know it's just around the corner. (something to consider)

Hope you all have a great week!

Nan
