Hello everyone, I just started dieting a couple weeks ago. My goal is to get to 199 by December 9th.. when I go on a cruise. I think I'll have a much better outlook if I can just get under 200 by then. I don't want to screw up my cruise photos.. haha.
  • Yay Holly! All that stress gone!

Welcome Neesy, glad to have you with us - wow you're setting yourself a tough goal to lose 32lbs in 2 months - that's approx 4lbs a week - don't be disappointed if you don't make it all the way hon!

Jiggly - do I need to come there and give you a good ole slappin'? lol

Ellen, I hope those storms don't come back - we're having really odd summery weather here - it's still in the high 70's low 80's every day, blue skies, white fluffy clouds, barely a leaf on the ground...

My 'work' colleague that just had lap band surgery is going to join the local 'old geezers' gym with me YAY! It used to be women only but seems to be aimed at everyone but body builders now which suits me fine, it's a 10 minute (I hope lol!) walk from my house. She is waiting for her son's wedding to be over on Oct 13 so not long. I think DH and her DH are going to join too.
I've just spent the past 2 days reorganising my garage, for the first time in almost a year I can see the floor and walk around, get to the freezer - we put up loads of shelving units and now everything is findable and reachable! Was a great workout as it was so hot so got nice and sweaty, drank loads of water, which is good for me and I don't drink enough of, lots of bending and stretching lol. Rather please cos that means in a week I have reorganised the kids rooms and the garage...next job....living room! Gotta get the last of those boxes unpacked from moving over the past year...hang photos and pictures...
  • Hello,
The week is flying by....I just got back from a workout. I'm going out to the movies with some gals tonight so I had to do it at lunch.

I made it to Pilates last night. It felt so good afterward; I worked really hard and my body felt pushed to the limit where it feels really good.

I'm working for a loss at the scale on Thursday. I just want to show a loss every week, right now that's my focus.

Sarah: Doesn't it feel good to get organized? Glad to hear about the gym; you will get a good walk in going and coming from there and a workout--PERFECT!

Nessy: Welcome! I just got back from a cruise. Where are you going?

Holly: Wow! What a step you took; I think it's a good decision on your part.

Well, I need to get back to work. I'm trying a kickboxing class tomorrow night. I'm exctied about it.

    I'll see you all later!
    Susie
  • I made it to the gym today!!!! I really need to get back into the habit, but I feel really good for going today. T-storms on and off today, but not with the winds we had the other day. Hopping that DS gets his Little league game in. we already have a make up game form a rain out! Have a great hump day!
  • I'm doing really good today. All i've had is a six inch turkey sub from subway and some water. I did 3.25 miles on the treadmill. I'm really dedicated this time around. Something that I have to stop doing is getting on the scale every single day. If it doesn't change day to day, I get disappointed.. which I know is stupid cuz you can't expect to lose weight every single day. My goal is to only check it once a week and to maintain my diet. My boyfriend makes it really hard cuz he eats terrible. He brings home fast food about twice a day. He's in incredible shape so he doesn't care what he eats. He's making it really hard, but I have to maintain my willpower!
  • Quote: Jiggly - do I need to come there and give you a good ole slappin'? lol
    I probably do!!

I did a lot better yesterday, did go over my calorie intake limit but did a lot of healthy choices. Now to get my @$$ on the treadmill
  • Sunny but brisk a 4C out there right now(43F).
I had a nice evening last night. Puttered at housework and watched bits of tv. My ankle is still sore and I have a chest cold but both are minor at this point but I am being careful not to over do it. DD is still sick but i made a judgement call and sent her to school with cold medicine. She got pretty much beat up by a kindergarten girl on the bus on Tues. Punched in the head and kicked in the stomach. The school has dealt with it and her parents are involved. My DD was afraid to get on the bus and hiding under her covers so I got her ready and got on the bus with her. Talked to the girl and bus driver. Hoping she is okay. Worried. She was pissed right off at me and then DS gets upset. It was nerve wracking.

I have minutes to write and email stuff to follow up.Kids to care for.

I will the try to body sculpt dvd. Not too hard on the ankle.

2 kids gone home,1 napping, 1 playing with Barbies.....made hummus for my lunch.

Thinking hamburger helper and salad for supper. DD's fav. Principal called to say she has been keeping a close eye on Dd all day to make sure her day is going well.

Sometimes being Chair of School Council has it benefits. I also mostly wrote the peaceful schools initiative. I WILL notice if they dont follow protocol.

I am decorating the church for Thanksgiving tonight. It has been a bad harvest here for fall plants like pumpkins and gourds etc, i will take my canning. There is a wedding on Saturday. They called to say they will use our decorations. Um...these people have some fancy ideas. We are simple country folk

Hubby can drive me there I will need a ride home.

Garage is coming to get my van tomorrow morning( died on Tues). It is the coil ... whatever that is.

I did get DS's laundry folded and his room vacuumed.

Need to make some calls. Feel like napping to be honest.
  • Holly~ I don't know how you do it! ((hugs))

Well, I am off to the gym. This will be the second time this week. I am really going to try to keep it up next week. So far I have maintained this week, I am hoping for a good weekend, and a loss on Monday. Have to run. Have a great Weekend!!!!
  • weehee long weekend!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadian Chicks!!!!

Watched most of the View and did not multitask.
Not feeling quite as punky. Been thinking lots on all the positive ways our lives will change. Although trying hard not to get stuck on how many times my Mom has said, now you will have a clean/tidy house. Um, hubby and the kids are pigs. Yes, having 9 kids here is a factor but hubby has hardly ever actually put any object away or a dish in the DW or put his clothing in his dresser.Dont think that will change. And even if I have more free time I still fundamentally refuse to clean up after a full grown man.

I will admit that since my “meltdown” near the end of the summer he has been making a much better effort to help in the house. I appreciate that.

I am excited about making food for lunches etc that we all really like instead of mainstream food to please the masses.

AND we can have peanut butter (natural) in the house again!!!!!

I can finally paint DD’s bedroom the way she wants it and we can do the upstairs flooring.I can drive a smaller car. I can get rid of toddler toys.I can repair and paint the walls in the diningroom and livingroom. I can fix the disk drive in my computer and not have it get smashed again.I can shampoo my couches and rugs and they will stay nice for longer than 3 days. Chances are no one is going to pee on the floor anymore. potty seats will be banned from the bathroom. I am intending to lose weight.

A friend said things were happening fast and they are in a sense but we have been ready for this for quite while. DH has had a very crappy paying job for 2 years. Now he does not. I had no choice but to keep on what I was doing just to survive. The kids were happy at the time too. And I am not one to labour over decisons. If it makes sense I just do it!!

    Must feed the monkeys.
  • Hey everyone,
I'm still here! Remember last winter when I got the full time position. I was to be inside on thurs and fri. Well...when my co-worker quit the last week they decided 2 of us was enough. I'm back outside.
When my boss went to china we got a new guy to take his place. OMG...
He is a ex-drill instructor for the army. He has us stepping and fetching.
I bet the scale moves this week.
  • My intake was 420calories. I jogged 3.5miles. I did good today, but I should really increase my daily calorie intake, because it may be TOO low. I'm one of those people that can starve themselves to death and it not bother them. I never feel hungry. I usually ate just because my boyfriend was eating or I was bored. Now, I go to they gym or focus on my school work. I feel guilty if I even eat during the day, because I figure thats just less that I'll lose.. I need to get over this and start a healthy diet. I can't starve myself forever because it will catch up with me. Once I lose the weight, I 'm going to get help with my eating habits. But to be honest, I'm not going to do that until I drop the weight..
  • Neesy, thats too low you need to stay above 1200kcals a day. I suggest you try a calorie calculator to find out how many calories do you need per day (http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/dee) is an example. Good luck!
  • I've upped my calorie intake..I realize the effects of it. My boyfriend is making me eat as well..I just have no idea of what to eat. I eat turkey and chick breasts and veggies and fruit. I just prepare it the same everytime I eat.. so I'm eating like the same thing every single day. Do you guys have any tips or recipes?
  • Neesy,

As you are counting calories you could eat what you want (within reason) as long as you don't go over your calorie allowance. You don't have to live on chicken, turkey and veggies hon.

What type of food do you really like, I mean food not candy or naughty snacks lol.

My personal eating plan is lowish carb. I know I could not follow Atkins or South Beach to the letter but I have managed to switch from bad carbs to good carbs. White to brown, sugar to no sugar added basically.

My biggest hurdle is potatoes, always will be. I try to only eat them once a week, last couple of weeks I ate the more often than that and of course I didn't lose any weight. Thankfully I didn't put on any either! (phew).

Tell us what kind of food you like, we'll try to help with recipes etc. You really do need to eat more, if you body goes into 'starvation mode' you won't lose a sausage and eventually and all the weight you did lose will go right back on.
