Amarantha2 04-03-2004 10:07 PM

Yo!

Well, I had hard drive and/or server problems and couldn't get on here yesterday and as a result fell off the EFL wagon and went hog wild and I couldn't even tell you what I ate. Will post my weigh-in (probably will be up) and start journaling and posting menus again tomorrow!!! Exercise Friday was 110 minutes (10 recument bike, 10 :tread: 60 weights w/trainer and a 30-minute walk in evening). Today was a wimpy 10 minutes of yoga in a deserted newsroom between interviews ... I won't make my 400 minutes of exercise, but it's close.

I know we're not really replying to each other on this thread but feel I should contribute since my journaling went away for awhile, so forgive me!

Everyone's doing great and posting away. Kaylets, it'll be great to have thee journaling with us at least on the weekends (though seeing thee here every day would be best for us IMO) ... :roflmao: at pouring ketchup on the chips!!!

Arabella: Huzzah on the campaign lunch and also the good handling of flexpoints!!! :cp:

Anagram: Mixing the kashi w/Cheerios sounds delicious! I need to try that! Oh dear, though, do they have pb cup Healthy Choice? I'm dead! Going to have to find that and bring some home for my EFL free day ... which is going to be Sunday even if I have been off the wagon.

Eydie, thank heavens someone else doesn't know how many calories they had recently ... I feel better!

Ceara: Congratulations on thy really great day Friday (or Thursday, anyway it was the stew day) ... do you have a recipe for the stew? That sounds so good ...

:queen: s, I'm really going to get going on posting daily to this thread. The combination not only of journaling but reporting in to a group on my menus has obviously helped me a lot ... the evidence being that when I couldn't get on, I just mentally went away and started the recreational eating and the stuffing down of my emotions with too much unhealthy food again. It only took a few hours before I lost the feeling of being connected with this journaling group and started wandering alone in the food universe.

Hopefully we'll be able to keep this thread going ... and hopefully anyone who feels it's getting too long will just jump in and start a new one and hopefully we'll even get more :queen: s (or neighbors) in here.

IN FUTURE, I PLEDGE TO RETURN TO JUST JOURNALING AND WILL NOT PONTIFICATE AND RAMBLE ON MUCH!

Later ...

Sis boom bah! :cheer:

anagram 04-04-2004 08:11 AM

Yes, Empress, they really do and it is sinfully delicious at 120 calories a half cup serving. I always seem to need the additional teaspoon from the carton after I've filled my dish - that always seems so extra tasty.

Find it hard to get in that flavor sometimes, in fact I got last one this time. It was on sale though ($3.99) and pretty picked over. Has really helped my pb craving. And has more calcium than the pb eggs.

Amarantha2 04-04-2004 11:40 AM

Well, Anagramatic, I'm on my official BFL free day (ok, the last two days have been pretty dang free, but this is the official one), and I'm going after that ice cream.

Lost half a pound towards my Easter goal and reported it on the Easter challenge. I'm going to keep that thread on the front page this week and hope that all who posted a goal will report in as it's our last week!!!

Huzzah! I'm going to eat a healthy breakfast and go for that ice cream!!!! Will report my menu tonight!!! Back on track! Yowza!

Kaylets 04-04-2004 01:46 PM

Sunday

1 whole wheat bread - 1
1/2 cup no fat sf yogurt -1 2

brunch....

3oz tofu burger 2
tofu burger mix .5
saurkraut, mustard, 0000000
1 whole wheat bread 1 3.5 5.5

guess that explains why I'm out of sorts and dragging....much less guess what just showed up!! guess this month I will have the breakouts, bloating AND the flow....wonder what tomorrow's wi will look like?? ah well, at least I know its on schedule!

anagram 04-04-2004 02:05 PM

Sunday

cereal w2% milk

lowfat yogurt (cappucino)
Slimfast Shake (cappucino delite)
(guess today's trend)

red beets
about two tbsps rice mixture from yesterday
2 viactivs

steak strips, rice, stir fried veggies

There will be either pbcup ic or a slim a bear yet, I'm sure.

At least that's the plan.

Exercise - up and down a zillion steps - nothing formal

NSV - sent home the remaining brownies that girls and I baked last night to celebrate anniversary - only one crumb passed my lips and that was instinct only.

Good luck on the pb Healthy Choice, Empress.

Amarantha2 04-04-2004 08:00 PM

Yo! I'll try to type this although Old Dog keeps dropping her giant doggie biscuit at my feet!

Anagramatic, I couldn't find the pb cup HC. Will try again before my next free day!

Kaylets, hope your WI goes well but know you won't obsess over water weight!!! :nono:

Ok, I'm serious about this official free day and not doing a calorie count but here's the damage so far:

Myoplex Lite bar & EAS cc shake

Little Caesar's pepperoni pizza square

Krispy Kreme maple iced donut

KFC original boneless chicken breast, biscuit, butter spray, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy (only ate a few bites of coleslaw, potatoes, gravy and about half the chicken ... really wasn't very good, why would I eat this stuff?)

Three EAS cc shakes

All-fruit smoothie (frozen berries, cold water)

More cold water ... NSV, I really hate all this junky food I had today! Hooray~!

Exercise, one hour walk, a.m. bought three Wai Lana yoga tapes and new yoga mat and did about 10 minutes of one tape ... I like the tapes

anagram 04-05-2004 12:15 PM

Hokay - Monday

Oatmeal w/2% milk
Broccoli slaw w/lite dressing and 1 oz cheddar
Half English muffin w/ abt half tspn apricot jam

deleted2 04-05-2004 05:03 PM

I haven't forsaken you, Gracious Queens! I'll be back tonight with my regular report. The last 3 days have been weird...or maybe it's just me!

Cerise 04-05-2004 05:05 PM

I feel like I've done OK today eating-wise.

Breakfast: cubed, fried potatoes topped with s. cream, cheese, scallions and tomatoes, washed down with one of those super-thick, all juice/puree bottled drinks. Num.

Lunch: avocado, tomato, cucumber, sprouts sandwich "with everything" on dark rye.

Not great, both meals fatty, carb-y and probably high-cal, but simple, wholesome food and I'm flyin' high on my veggie servings. AND, I didn't get chips with the sandwich. AND, I'm doing great water-wise.

I feel good about it.

Arabella, can I puh-LEEZE have your consent to shamelessly plagiarize your "wellness checklist" and even use it on this thread? Please? It's so bloody good...

Amarantha2 04-06-2004 09:38 PM

Ok, I had a choice about an hour ago when starting to climb walls from stress: Go out for candy or stick with BFL but add extra calories to try to beat the craving! Happily, I chose the latter and find that my reduction of sugar and balanced eating (more or less) has paid off and an apple and TWO carb control shakes satisfied me. Calories high but I don't care. Posting the daily damage early. If I get anymore cravings, I'll try the apple and shake thing again. Still need to do the yoga but am determined as I find Wai Lana tapes so peaceful, not to mention my body needs the yoga!!!

Wise choices, In Control Empress. My own calories/carbs were higher yesterday as well. Sort of planned out and ergo not a total loss of control. I hope.

Starting out w/slimfast today. And planning to up my water consumption. I've had enough fluid w/tea and Tab but seem to be retaining more that way. So that's today's goal. More H 2 O.

Amarantha2 04-07-2004 05:29 PM

Well, Anagramatic, I did succumb to the pb cup  today (only two!), but like thou, I'm not totally out of control!!! I'm doing more water also as I need to work a meeting tonight and need to be clear headed!!!!

Reporting exercise early and will post menu later or tomorrow. Did 10 :tread: plus 35 min. weights (light total body) at gym and 30 min. yoga at home ... (LOVE these tapes and ordered more!).

Amarantha2 04-08-2004 09:06 AM

Well, a funny thing happened re posting my menu, I cleared out the spreadsheet I use to log and report my menus and forgot to post yesterday's food ... I'm not archiving the menus at the moment. Anyway, I did have the two pb cups but everything else was on track for BFL and there were two vege servings and two fruit ... still need more but that was good (for me). I had a crabcake (lowfat) and bought more Myoplex Lite bars because I realized the pb cups happened because I didn't have any of the bars ... these bars are a good quality product but they do have fructose in them, which I'd rather not eat, but apparently it's those or pb cups and bars fit BFL, so ...

Calories were 1580, exercise reported above. I'll post today's menu as usual!!!

Gotta work!!!

Eydie and Anagramatic: You're lookin' good there!!!! :cheer:

Amarantha2 04-08-2004 03:11 PM

Me again, sorry, overposting ... I just posted this on the BFL thread:

"Guys, due to technical difficulties (e.g, an uncontrollable lust for dulce de leche), I'm having yet another off program day and am going to try to do well tomorrow and Saturday, but am really cancelling my official EFL start day until Sunday. I do my weight management in three-week "initiatives" and am starting a new one on Easter."

I'll share with thou :queen: s that the dulce de leche came about after I had a mini argument with a woman in Walmart. She called me "dear" ... ugh! Anyone in that situation would obviously have done exactly as I did ... go on a dulce de leche binge.

I'm keeping track of calories and will post my report tonight. It won't be pretty 'cause I'm NOT done eating!

anagram 04-08-2004 05:16 PM

And "honey" would have been even worse. Ugh!! I've sort of blown it a bit today too. Details to follow.

Oatmeal w/2% milk
Lofat yogurt
BOWL of cauliflower, broccoli, carrots
Whole wheat toast w/ very little apricot preserve
Slimabear
Walnuts (more than I should have)

Dinner will be ham and salad. Then there will be more, probably.

I know the walnuts are good for one in moderation but I'm pretty sure I exceeded moderation. Will not be beating me up though because they're such an occasional item in my diet and it wasn't like I ate the whole bag or anything (1# bags - too much for even me). May abate my pb cravings for a while.

No real exercise other than walking in grocery store where I stalwartly resisted buying delicious muffins when I entered that dangerous area to pick up two donuts for dh. sob.

anagram 04-08-2004 05:21 PM

This is a repost because of course I messed something up.

And "honey" would have been worse. Ugh!! A dulce la leche moment to be sure. I've done some off plan eating too. Details to follow.

oatmeal w/2 % milk
2 viactivs
lofat yogurt
BOWL of cauliflower, broccoli, carrots
whole wheat toast (1) w/very little apricot preserve
pb cup ice cream
WALNUTS (while I know they're good for one in moderation, I think I exceeded moderation but will not be beating me up because it wasn't all that many and I so seldom do add them to my diet - may even abate my pb craving)
ham and broccoli slaw w/only a little lite dressing
Sliver of carrot cake

Passed up some delicious looking muffings today while in grocery store picking out donuts and a carrot cake for dh. Store was my only exercise today. sob

Amarantha2 04-08-2004 06:52 PM

Anagram, I can't find that freakin' pb cup lite ice cream anywhere!!!! It would have saved me today, even though it's not BFL!

I'm still going to post the damage tonight! It's really, really high but I feel great about my choice to have the extra today (lots of extra)!!!! :coffee:

anagram 04-08-2004 08:15 PM

I don't see that flavor very often either. When I do, I grab it unless I've just finished off a carton. It saves me often.

Thursday

30 min. Pilates

This was a great food day for me--I'm very satisfied; that was a ton of food!!! :D

Amarantha2 04-09-2004 01:19 AM

This is just a partial list as I stopped logging about 6 p.m.

Myoplex Lite bar 190
EAS van CC shake 100

Toasted whole wheat Eng muffin w/butter spray 140
EAS van CC shake 100

1/2 apple 45
1/2 lf cheese stick 40

Toasted whole wheat Eng muffin w/butter spray 130
EAS van CC shake 100
Myoplex Lite bar 190

4 mini dulce de leche filled donuts 400
Dulce de leche milk 360

Grilled salmon w/dill 120
Broc w/lf cheese sauce, corn 120
EAS van CC shake 100

EAS van CC shake 100
Myoplex Lite bar 190

And MUCH more ...

Calories? Your guess is as good as mine.

What's really funny about this day is that I was only really satisfied with the salmon meal and I am still craving the salmon, so if I'd had a double portion of that, the whole bad eating evening wouldn't have happened.

I just watched PBS' Frontline "Diet Wars" that Suzanne mentions in the announcements and it was really a good outline of how our society has come to this place regarding weight-related disease ... and it seemed to reach the same conclusion I have about the best way to eat and how important it is to get and keep the weight off.

So I'm going to just keep on doing it, regardless of the slipups! Avanti, guys!

ceara 04-09-2004 09:33 AM

Ceara emerges from the fog....(see details on Bunny Trail). :coffee:

She has no clue about what she has eaten in the past week. Certainly no time to cruise kitchen for nibblies or sweeties. Too stressed. Also only walked for 2 days sometime before last Friday. I think. Tongue constantly feels coated...either I am sick, or the water change here is affecting me. There is an open cantaloupe in the fridge...which was breakfast yesterday, tuna stuffed pita w/ lite Hellmann's, onion and romaine for lunch, and a potluck for dinner...a modified Seder meal at the church...where I was quite circumspect I believe...no sweets, jellos or pastas...just meat and salad.

Oh and multitudinous :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: in there somewhere.

I must be sick!!!!

Or just not hungry!!!

I'm sick!!!!! I'm never NOT hungry....although this lack of desire is kinda nice.

Am off now to investigate that cantaloupe for brekkie now....

Ta-Rah....fogs and mists are lifting! And many posts to read I see!

Ceara

anagram 04-09-2004 01:56 PM

Friday
Oatmeal w2% milk

1 oz or so sharp cheddar
smoothie (passionate peach)
2 eggs scrambled w/margarine (dh cooked and he doesn't get modern things like sprays)
2 slices whole wheat toast w/apricot preserves
teeny piece of carrot cake

I'll probably have something else later in the 150 calorie range. am considering a raspberry hot chocolate drink that DDIL gave me for Christmas. Have only had one so far. Can't have her thinking I don't like it.No exercise again. No wonder I'm not losing.

Amarantha2 04-09-2004 06:48 PM

I think I was in that fog with thee, Ceara, but now we're both back!!!!! :)

Anagramatic, you are a jewel and YOU KNOW WHY!!! I just pmd thee again!!!

Reporting exercise: 15 min jog outdoors at gym, 60 min weights with trainer.

Will be back with menu report tonight or tomorrow! Yowza!
