It was getting long...thought I would be the next one to start a new one!!!
Night!

Jane 02-13-2004 07:45 AM

It's Friday the 13th....

Which means something good will happen to me today!

Hiya Ladies, :) <- new valentine smily, ain't it cute??

Susan - Katie loves Hot Topic, too, and I have learn to not stare while in there with her, lol. She likes the Hello Kitty stuff, accessories, and the rock bands stuff. Re Dr. Phil - I wouldn't dream of telling all my dirty little secrets on his show like some of those people do! But, if I was desperate for help, I guess then maybe I would.

Marti - I looked up the word obsessed in the dictionary, and there was a picture of YOU, lol. :D I am so glad you are having fun with the scrapbooking. I am the same way about anything Disney. I will see what I can do to contact Kayecee - but I feel sure she is okay, and just hasn't been here. Remember when she went to the mall and we didn't hear from her for a couple of months?

We miss you, Kayecee!!

Angie - wow, your painting ideas are so good! Be sure to take pics to share with us.

Katie - try some Uncle Ben's wild rice... it is de-lish, but has quite of bit of sodium in it, so drink extra water with it, okay?

A computer-less friend of my is coming over today to check out the dresses at Deliah's online. She is looking for a white, feminine summery dress to get married in, in August. We have been friends since we were 9, so it's all good.

Katie and a friend are driving to Evansville tonight to a concert. The band is a local group and they have practically no followers yet, but still, I will worry like crazy about the girls. She'll be 17 next month, though, so I have to let go, but it's hard since she is the baby.

I googled jaded ladies, and our entire site came up!! We're famous!! :D

FrouFrou 02-13-2004 02:11 PM

I think my Friday the 13th was yesterday-nothing was going right and everywhere I went people were rude. And to think I was in such a good mood. :)

Anyway, just a quick Hi ladies  I woke up this morning with one horrific headache and can't seem to get rid of it. :headache:

Jana~I know how you feel. My children are 23 1/2, 22 next week and DD just turned 20 and I still find it hard to let go. And the worrying...:yikes: I wish I could turn that off.

Marti~I was like you when I first started scrapbooking, I couldn't get enough. The newness of it all wore off but I still enjoy doing it.

Susan~My DD also llikes Hot Topic. We went in there one day with DS#1 and when we left he said they need to turn that music down , and what was wrong with that guy? He acts like an old fart sometimes. I agree about the music because it is usually blaring out into the mall and when they talk to you you have to scream so they can hear. But the kids that work in there that look kind of scary sometimes are ALWAYS super nice. They have never been rude.

Okay, don't remember what all was discussed on the other thread so sorry if I missed anyone.

Hi to everyone else, Angie, Katie, Kayecee & Shanna.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful Friday! :) :) :)

da fat n da furious 02-13-2004 03:20 PM

Ok some Im unable to fingure out all the cool ways you guys do the big workds and colors...geesh

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Shanna, and Katie I don't have your address...could you PM and so at the very least you will get a St Paddy's Day card.

I finished most of the laundry...or so I thought..grrr Brandon pulls this hugs pile of dirty clothes out of his room,,,and then complains to me that it takes a week for him to get it back %$@^@$%^@ hold me back ladies cause fur could fly! So I taught the sweet boy how to work the machine AGAIN and gave him the hairy eyeball for even suggesting the slowness of the laundress.
I had borrowed JCS the 1990 version,,,and I have to tell you my show was as good if not better! lol
Well one of the belts in my van engine is sounding bad...fingers crossed all that is wrong.
gotta run.
Angie

Jane 02-13-2004 04:22 PM

Just a quick note to these two ~

Cristi - hope you got rid of your headache!

Angie - to get lots of posting options, don't use quick reply - do the "post reply" link in the left hand bottom corner. Then, highlight the words to be resized, colored, bold, or whatever, then pick what you want.

da fat n da furious 02-13-2004 05:40 PM

Cristi, I hope you are feeling a bit better with the headache. :(

I personally think the tshirt was cute Susan...but then again I love funky fun tees. Brandon and Tanner have so many,,,Spong Bob being their fav. Brandon has one t that says,,,Can't sleep Clowns will eat me :s: . repeated over and over.
Well I had to stick the van in and it won't be back till tomorrow,,,water pump, and timing belt plus the coolant needs to be flushed...grrr  thats a good 900 gone...*sigh I am so not impressed with my van.

House is more or less clean for once in a very long time. Dusted vacuumed,,,bathrooms are clean...kitchen. Just have about 3 loads of laundry to finish,,,,decided to wash some valances and with Bran's stuff it made for a pile. :smug:
well going to go watch the Rock again... ;)
Angie

Mom2Gaby 02-13-2004 09:56 PM

Hi,
I need to start work in a minute but need some adult conversation first!

So, Good Evening to you all :)

Oh, Ang life without smilies or color! It is kind of fun. I enjoy coloring and adding icons  in. I was thinking that could be my hobbie but I would have to post a lot more to *perfect* it and ummm......like to all too much for that.

I was just curious about weigh :yikes: in times?? Do you do that as a group or not?? Do you all weigh in once a week? Bi-Monthly? Go by how your clothes feel? :twirly:
I will do a weigh in tomorrow, Saturday being my day.........duh. :dunno:

I agree about Dr.Phil, Jana.Couldn't pay me to go on there and expose my life...    ...whats wrong with those people? I do like him though, I like the no nonsense approach, and he cuts to the chase.I just feel sometimes I shouldn't be watching, feel for his guest and all.
I did see a paperback book of his in the store a food guide one though....not the one I want, so I passed. It was 7.99.....

Sorry you had a rough morning Cristi!!! I was in Albertson's today and was over hearing a lady talking on her cell.Saying something like what th"people go back to school because they don't know ey want to do"......I thought what a dumb remark. She was waiting for her Starbucks coffee, and when I went to put cream in mine she wouldn't even move.I just barged right in though, might have even grazed her with the cart....lol....mean lady.

It was payday! Gab & I hung out. I took the older girls to a friends and they were going to make costumes for a book reading play, thingie.I made a pot roast for them when they ever come home to their dad`s.I checked out 2nd hand baby stores for a jogging stroller. I liked a Gerry one for $70, thought that was a good price but will wait for taxes to purchase anything, just wanted to see the prices and all. Bought a calendar......50% off!! I also bought Gab some toys and a ball, she was happy with that.
We were at Albertsons ordering her cake for Monday, Clifford , the Big Red Dog, LOVE Clifford! Didn't know John Ritter was the voice until he passed a way, thought that was sad.

HOT TOPICS! Don't all parents love that store! I like Hello Kitty, Beck gets that line of clothing.I like some of their clothes, I won't let Rach buy the chains hanging on pants thing.
Oh, ya........the picture on Rachels shirt. It was cute! Just her one formal pic for the year, didn't really want it hanging on great grandma`s wall.....lol......Rach is pretty though, has done amazing things with her eyebrows! I tell her , you plunk from below, NOT outward......did I say she is 12?? 12 going on 17.........

So, I had a spinach/tuna salad, with YUMMY beets, thought of you Ang!!Beets aren't bad Angie.....I like the pickled taste.Gbarielle loves them too, she likes all her veggie, she is such a good girl.

So, I best get!!
Weigh in tomorrow!! Cross fingers!!

HAPPY VALENTINES! :) :) :)

Susan

da fat n da furious 02-13-2004 11:10 PM

I just don't like eating anything that looks like its blood. I eat my meat medium well...and would probably gag if I saw blood. I think Rach is very pretty. I was looking ther pics from last year and the difference is unbelievable. Ok my computer is acting up...Friday the 13th has hit me hard...grrr my ENTER key won't work? duh how can that one key not work? I painted yellow daisies all over my bathroom today. Maybe tomorrow I will paint some flowers on the window...who knows. Monte came home and went straight to bed,,,that was 6 pm...Brandon's at work and Tanner has a buddy over. Watching Bruce Allmighty. I did watch the Extreme Makeover...that one woman really had alot done,,,her teeth were gross. Do you guys get that show Ciau? KIU (sound that out) its about a little boy,,,kinda whiney...anyways the voice for him died in a car accident this summer...didn't have the heart to tell Brandon cause he really liked that show. Brandon is my 16 yr old....lol Well Im off to bed watch tv...house is clean...seems weird...ha ha ha Angie

Mom2Gaby 02-13-2004 11:26 PM

Hi Angie,

So, you going to paint daisys tomorrow, eh?? You wild Diva from the North!!

It is VALENTINES DAY, do you and Monte have any plans??Stange, but I have never seen a picture of Monte, what does he look like, general terms and such.

So, you didn't say anything about weigh in times??? Do you weigh Angie?? You know, like get on a scale?? lol......Gaby does, she weighs 32 pounds!!

I was puttering around in chat on YAHOO.......umm, in the romance part. Just between you and me Angie all those men just want to talk about sex. What is wrong with them?? Don't they know there is more to life than that?? We can talk about scrapbooking, Clifford, Dr.Phil, Hot Topic`s, daisy painting.......but no,..........always comes back to sex. lol
So, I just click off and come back to Jaded Ladies.....

Anyway, be sure to cross you fingers for me!! My goal is to be 155 by March.....I will be happy with 156.......lol.

Hi to Brandon & Tanner!!!! Maybe someday Brandon & Rach can get together and we can be in laws?? Wouldn't that be the coolest?? :)

Oh, ya..........gotta get to work!! :)

Susan

da fat n da furious 02-13-2004 11:44 PM

I already painted the daisies...I think Ill ad some green leaves. I think tomorrow is either Tanners bed room or the downstairs bathroom. That wouldn't be too bad if we became inlaws....Ill let Brandon know we have organized his life. How many grandkids do you think they should have? Im hoping for one grandaughter...I know you want a grandson...so ok there they go...2 kids. Tanner made more cookies today,,I will not be weighing in anything...I have gained back all the weight I lost during Christmas. Well ok I promised the boys some scary stories and well I have a few...*shudder Angie

Mom2Gaby 02-14-2004 12:02 AM

Hi,

You don't weigh?? Is that allowed?? lol

I am soooooo tired, get waaaaay goofy.

So becoming in laws wouldn't be too bad?? That isn't exactly an overjoyed response, but I will take it!

Do I get to visit Calgary and have a free place to stay?? Can I sleep in the daisy/leaf room? That wasn't the bathroom was it?

Yes, always wanted a little boy.We don't really have a say on the gender though. Weird how you have 2 boys and I have 3 girls, so thinking a 50-50 thing?? It doesn't matter,as long as we are in laws!
OMG Angie.........we have a wedding to plan! See, this is where your talents come in and will be a big help......lol.

What kind of cookies did Tanner make?? Sounds yummy.

Oh, Rach got an A on her science project and Beck pulled a 100% on her spelling, even though she basically missed the whole week of school, so was happy about that.

Night:)

Marti 02-14-2004 12:25 AM

Hello all--

I'm having a late post today. Been busy getting things done. After school I had to run to Walmart and get Valentines stuff for Jhanai and James. I will have it set up on the dining room table tonight so they can see it in the morning. (kind of like Christmas isn't it? Or Easter)

So did anyone have a spooky Friday the 13th today??? Hope not. My day went just fine. A lot of people decided not to show up to school today. Probably wanted to have a four day weekend since there is no school Monday!! YeeHaw on that!! I debating on going Tuesday. It only one class and we just yap most of the time. Who knows what I'm going to do.

Jana--You saw my picture under obsessed?? Are you sure it wasn't "Nuts" :dizzy: because sometime I think I'm a little nuts getting into this so much!!

Cristi--I hope you feel better. Headaches can ruin a day! Especially if they decide not to go away! Sending good feeling vibes your way! :goodvibes

Angie--St. Patty's day?! I didn't even think of that! Thanks for mentioning it. I will have to get something cute for you girls...do they have cards for that? (Of coarse they do!)

Susan--Ok...are you getting the days mixed up or am I? Isn't it the 13th today and tomorrow is Valentines Day?? Just checkin! :p

Everyone else....hello to you....

Ok....I need to get going. Spend some time with Jhanai. She's banging on the keyboard and it's starting to give ME a headache! :D

Take Care
Marti

Mom2Gaby 02-14-2004 12:36 AM

Hi Marti :)

I know. I have been a day ahead all week. I think with Friday (today???)being no school made me think today was Saturday. Also, I normally get paid on the 15th but with that on Sunday, got paid today.......lol

So, oops.....it is Friday the 13th,so that is my excuse.

Hey, do you weigh on a certain day?? lol

Happy Valentines to James, Jhanai (beauitful name!!) and you on Saturday!!

I am taking mine to a movie and dinner, did I say that already?? anyway, that is what we are doing. :)

Night, :)
Susan

Marti 02-14-2004 02:24 AM

Hello again--

Susan, to answer your question, no I don't weigh in on a certain day. I do weigh myself twice a month though. I don't like getting on the scale too much or else I feel down about it all. But I try to aim for the 1st of the month and then sometime a couple weeks after. Not necessarily a specific day.

Are you wanting to try and get us all on a "weigh day" ? We could try it. What do you think girls? Figure out a day to weigh and we can all weigh in on that day. Weekly, bi weekly which ever.....

Ok....must get to bed. Been a long day (week!)

Night!
Marti

Mom2Gaby 02-14-2004 07:00 AM

Good Morning Marti,

No, wasn't looking for a Jaded Ladies weigh in per say.Just was curious how you each measure your weight loss.
I know we all have our own way and the scale is just one way to measure that success.Just living healthy and doing the best you can on a daily basis is another.
I like one day a week.I am comfortable with that, just NEED to know if I am heading the way I want.I don't like getting on with too big of a time gap in between and finding out I gained 10 pounds.....lol, like to nip it in the bud when I can........if that makes sense???

I am awake due to an emergency been up for 2 hours.Ready to call it a morning and head for bed.
Forgot about Beck`s basketball game at 9am......

Again, Happy VAlentines to you all :)

Susan

Jane 02-14-2004 08:26 AM

:balloons: :cp: :) Happy Valentine's Day!! :) :cp: :balloons:

Angie - you have really been a busy lady! Want to come and help me finish Spring cleaning?? Something tells me you'd have it done in no time.

Susan - the people on this thread, including me, don't exactly make dieting a top priority, lol. But I am doing well this time, and hope it will last! I weigh in on Saturdays or Sundays. Today I was down 1 3/4 more pounds!! Your day with Gaby yesterday sounded so fun. I know you are a good mommy.

Marti - okay, nuts and obsessed, how's that?? LOL!! Our schools were supposed to be out for Winter break yesterday and Monday, but they had to go to make up for snow days yesterday, and I think Monday, too. I forgot to ask Katie about that. Neal has to go teach at the college but gets a Spring break next month.

Hi to the others, too.

As I told Susan, I am down 1 3/4 more, and I sure feel good about that. When I am tempted to overeat, I think of weigh-in, and how I want to feel. Also, I want to drop quite a bit before I meet you guys in August. But my REAL incentive is that we're going back to Walt Disney World in a year. I have already bought all of the park-hopper tickets we need, and will be making our reservations real soon. We've decided to stay at the Pop Century resort there on site. Mary says I'm getting her girls as obsessed with Disney as I am! Gee, Marti, maybe that was MY pic in the dictionary, lol.

Neal is still sleeping, but when he gets up we will exchange Valentines gifts and cards. He is a sweetie and I'm looking forward to spending the day with him.

Have a good one, ladies!
Jana

FrouFrou 02-14-2004 11:36 AM

Happy Valentine's Day Ladies!

A HAPPY Saturday to all! I am actually feeling A LOT better, even with the thought of all the work I have to do today. :) Headache was gone by evening, thank goodness. DH & DS are taking a load to the dump this morning-we've been cleaning on the garages-did not realize we had so much junk!

Susan~I do weigh in once a week, every Monday morning. I too like to see where I stand and if I gain nip it in the bud. I would love to see a loss every week (who wouldn't?!) but as long as I don't gain any I am fine with that. Your little Gaby sounds soooo cute! :) You must share some photos of your babies.

Jana~have a WONDERFUL time with Neal today. :) And CONGRAT'S on your loss!! WTG girly :cp: :bravo: I am hoping I can say the same on Monday.

Marti~enjoy your time off from school. I wouldn't mind doing a weigh in, I guess we could just post on whatever day. I weigh on Mondays and just changed that from Saturday a while back so would like to stick with that, especially since this weigh loss challenge meets on Monday. They want everyone to weigh is on Monday morning so it can be added to a board.

Angie~you are a busy little bee. :) You should become an interior designer. I want to see your bathroom-I bet it is gorgoeous!

Hi Katie & Kayecee!

Well, ladies I have a busy day ahead of me. But I know I will take a break later, many breaks! We don't have special plans for the day as far as dinner plans and such. DH & I did an early Valentine dinner Wednesday evening. We don't care much for the crowds on holidays. We have mass to go to at 5 pm today. I will check back later. You ladies take care and have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! :)

Marti 02-14-2004 12:37 PM

Morning ladies---

Jana--Congrats girl!! You are on such a great losing streak!! And I am so happy for you!!

Susan--Well, ok, you didn't want to do a Jaded Ladies weigh in....but I wouldn't mind!! I would weigh in on Mondays. So I may just start doing that anyway.....

Cristi--Don't worry...you're going to see a loss on Monday too! You and Jana are doing great! Wish I could say the same!

Just need to pop in quickly this morning....so I could say:

:encore: :) :) Happy Valentines Day Jaded Beauties!!!! :) :) :encore:

Mom2Gaby 02-14-2004 03:45 PM

Susan

da fat n da furious 02-14-2004 07:30 PM

Jana,,,ok I really need to do something I keep reading your posts about losing and I know whos finding the lbs. ME! My ENTER button is still not working...strange. Monte and I woke early and did a delivery for his business. And then went for breakfast at Micky D's (McDonalds) its the only thing I like there. Went and picked up my van over 900 grrrr. Monte bought me Finding Nemo for Valentines day. We curled up in bed to watch it. I fell asleep and now at 4:30 I have a really bad bedhead look and racoon eyes and he wants to go out for dinner. GREAAAAAAT lol Marti, the irish in me loves St Paddy's day. Im half Irish and half Native American...to see me thou you would never guess that. I have been asked if Im Spanish or Italion. I think Im going to try and make my cards. We have a few years to wait Susan before planning...hate to have everything ready and its all out of date. Im glad the girls are smart cause the marks these boys are bringing home have been raising my eyebrows and not my hope. Tanner had his sleep over last night and wanted a scary story...poor kids...should never ask me things like that exspecially on a cold dark FOGGY night...hee hee hee We probably won't ever have that friend sleep here again. Which Monte will be grateful for... his parents have a tendency to want to go out and literally drop him off at our place. Without notice that is. I freaked once when I had my one weekend off and we had plans when I opened the door to find this kid on my doorstep with his bag. I asked him why couldn't Tanner sleep there since this kid had been at our house a dozen times... his reply was his parents were going out...grrr I told him that fine for tonight but I want to be called by his parents from now on. No drop and runs. So last night the mom knocks on the door,,,I didn't know who she was...and she was asking me if it was ok if he slept over,,,what am I to say? Thank goodness he is an only child. Well I guess I should go wash my face and comb my rug.... have a great night all............Angie

FrouFrou 02-15-2004 12:11 AM

Pretty quiet around here, everyone must be having one heck of a Valentine's Day! :) ;) Mine has been pretty exhausting. But I so enjoyed the break today when I went to mass with DS. They had a special mass for couples who are celebrating an anniversary this year, a 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th etc. but any from the 50th (51, 52, 53 etc.) DH and I should have participated but he was working, our fifth is coming up in May. Anyway, it was really nice. There were quite a few couples celebrating/renewing. :)

Katie~thanks for the cards, that was so sweet! :thanks:

Susan~WTG on your loss!! :cp: :bravo: Hope you and DD enjoyed the movie. What did you see? Hmmm, a favorite bean?? :chin: I don't really have a favorite bean as I like quite a few, pinto beans (in chili), (white) navy beans (with ham), baked beans, black eyed peas, green beans, lima beans (with ham), sweet peas, that's about all I care for but like I said, don't really have a favorite.

Angie~how sweet (you & Monte) did you like Finding Nemo? DS had bought that a while back and I borrowed it from him-it was sooo cute. I loved Ellen in it, she cracks me up. Now you really have me curious as to what you look like, you are half american indian & half irish?? I always tell the kids I am a mutt! I have very little american indian, my great-grandfather on my dads side was full blooded something, but am german, irish and who knows what else, I can't remember. I will have to ask DS-he is into the genealogy and knows all this stuff.

Okay, anyway, just wanted to check in and see what's up, if anything with everyone. HI to EVERYONE else. See ya ladies tomorrow sometime. :grouphug:

Marti 02-15-2004 02:42 AM

Evening ladies---

I hope everyone had a wonderful :) Valentines Day!! :)

I had a great day with Jhanai. We did some scrapbooking together. Went and bought her own scrapbook. I told her to pick the photo's. Figure out the colors she wanted to use and how she wanted to lay it out...and I would do the cutting. She did the glueing and I helped place it on the page. I have to say....hers looks better!! I bought some of those rub on pictures...I can't remember the name of it, but you cut it out, then just rub it off the paper onto where you want. She did the front of her scrapbook with those. Then she gave me one to put on mine. Cute pictures. I will take a photo of it tomorrow and share with you girls.

James got me a nice Valentines Card, brought tears to my eyes it was so sweet. Also got me a teddybear, the movie Titanic and some chocolates. I was very interested in the box the chocolates were in! It's like a set of drawers! I instantly said "I can use this for my crafts!" :D

So we had a great day.

Cristi--I found it interesting to hear about all the people you said that had an anniversary today. I was married on Valentines Day. Didn't plan on it....realized it after we already got married. What's sad is, my brother & his wife were married on this day and a few other couples that James & I know were also......and we're all divorced. I always say to people...don't choose a holiday to get married. (especially Valentines Day) Make that day YOUR own special day. Silly isn't it?

Ok... I need to get to bed. Jhanai get's up early and I want to be up with her.

Night!!

Marti

Jane 02-15-2004 08:24 AM

Good morning ladies,

Cristi - at least you have only one garage to clean. Out here in the country, we have a bunch of sheds and out buildings that have stuff in them from 100 years ago. Neal can never find anything! Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. I think it is so cool that you have the group for encouragement!

Marti - my friend who's getting married in August was married the first time on 2/14..... and obviously that didn't work out. Wonder why that day seems jinxed for marriages?? Glad you had a good day with Jhanai.

Susan - :cp: YAY for you losing the 1 pound!! Saturday is weigh in for me, too. It used to be Sunday, but I have found myself sitting in a car travelling on Saturdays, and trying to limit my water intake because of that. There's no way I'm going to weigh in after a day of that! I still stay very OP on Saturdays, but have always had a little something extra during Sunday dinner with my family. My favorite beans would be the ones surrounded by barbacue sauce and brown sugar in baked beans! Tee hee hee!

Angie - I am part Irish and part German. I would love to see your picture - you sound very pretty. I sort of feel sorry for the kid who gets dropped off, but even more sorry for you. You are a nicer person than me, because after that happened ONCE, I would've called the mom and put my foot down. I can be a real b**ch, tho, when I think someone is taking advantage of me.

You guys could PM me with your weight loss for the week, and I could post them to a thread..... we could keep a running total. Or, we could keep a tally in our own signatures. Maybe I'll do mine and show you what I mean.

I had the very best day with Neal. He gave me a very beautiful diamond and sapphire necklace and earring set - my birthstone. (This makes the second set he's given me, but I didn't point that out.) He offered earlier in the week to take me out on Valentine'd Day, but I opted to cook a romantic dinner with candlelight and avoid the lines. Then we watched the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. We'd seen it before, a long time ago, but it was still good. He was very attentive all day and noticed my new top. He got brownie points for that!

Have a good Sunday, and I'll bbl,
Jana

Kayecee 02-15-2004 09:44 AM

Half dead but here! *sigh*

Please Shanna! Noooooo! Don't beat me! :stress: *whine* LOL Let's see.... where to begin. I don't even remember what I was doing on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, I remember searching the country over for Valentine's stuff. (Bob the Builder valentine cards will simply not do for a 10 year old boy! :( He hissy-fitted when I brought them home earlier in the week. ) Thursday was parent/teacher conferences so I stayed really late at school then crashed into bed when I got home. And Friday the 13th- AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! My DH ran over and killed my kitty first thing! I've had that cat for a couple of years. My niece found it all pitiful and pathetic and dirty at her daddy's (my baby brother) grave. Mom cleaned it up and it became the family pet. I have asthma and that is the ONLY cat that I have been ever able to pet without wheezing. *insert Twilight Zone music here* So then I left to go and do JURY DUTY! ACK! And of course I was chosen to sit on the trial! We didn't get to leave until 4:30! They've also changed the rules within the last year- now, even if you sit on a trial, you have to come back for the next round too. That's just not fair. I think you should get dismissed after you have served on a trial. Then Valentine's Day! We went to the Outback to eat :hun: YUM! We tried to go shopping, but as the day progressed, I felt worse and worse, so we finally wound up going to the First Care center to let me see the doctor! Yep- you got it- strep throat! Well, on the bright side- at least I know that I'm not gonna get preggers from a hot and heavy Valentine's romp! K- my ears are ringing so I gotta go lay down. See y'all later.

Cristi, what day in May is your anniversary? mine is the 25th. I would really love to get into searching my whole background,,,infact what I have searched for is really interesting.
Jana, I didn't feel so bad about my mess in the basement after hearing about all your sheds...lol Our basement is full, mostly junk. And Im hoping to do a big yard sale this spring.
Marti, as sad as that is, every person I know who got married on 2/14 are divorced now. I am so wanting to do a scrapbook but I just don't want to start something till Im done all my other *things* then Ill race to try and catch up to you all. I stuck some of those rub ons into Susans pack.
Kaycee,,,we were all commenting on you going shopping again,,,cause the last time you were gone for 2 months...this wasn't as bad. And I thought my life was busy...lol And ewww about being sick. Hope the antibiotics kick in and your feeling your ummmm self soon...(I don't literally mean you ahhh well umm feeling yourself but,,,oh forget what I just said)
Monte and I went out to our fav place for dinner. We both decided to try new dishes....and both were disappointed. I had a Thai Chicken Salad. Ill stick with my Del Norta dish.
Brandon and his best friend had a disagreement a couple of months ago. His friend bought a truck and all of a sudden he became pretty popular (very common) anyways he made some remark about Brandon being choked cause he wouldn't drive him to school...Brandon took offense to that and kicked him out of his locker. That was two months ago. Well last night at about 2:30 am I took Skittles out for her bathroom break. Walking up the stairs I saw a person in our front yard. Ya I freaked ran up the stairs as something was being thrown at the windows. Looked outside and saw this kid, with a couple of others. I was pretty disappointed in him, I went and dove around looking for him but couldn't find him...Did call his house this morning but no answer. He does have what seems to be good parents. So we will see how they will deal with him about this.
I could barely sleep after this, I was so ticked off....I wanted to go and get an empty egg carton and place it under his windshield wiper...a sign that I knew it was him.
Anyways thats my drama for the day.
I will have to go and buy a weigh scale...*shudder

Good Sunday Morning All~

Okay, what is up with all the divorces on V-Day??? DH and I almost got married on the 14th because I too thought it would be romantic and special. I was listening to the radio the other day and they were doing proposals every day last week-they have never had anyone turn anyone down until Friday. The guy had this BEAUTIFUL speech and poem and then asked his girlfriend to marry him and she said "No, no way, not now, not ever!" Then proceeded to bash him on the radio. My heart went out to this guy, he said he had to go for a walk and left. :( the girl is supposed to go on the radio Monday morning and tell her side of why she was so mean. I don't think she had to be so brutal, she could have said something like we can discuss it later at home.

Marti~the couples anniveraries weren't on V-Day it was for ALL couples who will celebrate an anniversary in the year 2004-sorry I didn't make that clear. I don't think any of them were actually married on V-Day. And you are right about not getting married on a holiday. Silly me couldn't think of a good date to be married because I didn't want to take away from others special days so we got married on my birthday. I should have kept it seperate. Even though it is still special but every four years my birthday falls on Mother's Day. Also, it is the day DH grandparents married-not the reason I choose the date. We didn't find this out until after the fact. Glad you had a great V-Day with James and Jhanai. :) I think that is sweet you are scrapbooking together.

Jana~oh but we do have three garages!! :yikes: Actually two garages and a storage-I want to say shed but it is more of a room that someone had actually lived in. Only the one garage is a mess though. DH is working on that again today. Diamonds and sapphires-I bet that is absolutely gorgeous! Sounds like you guys had a perfect V-Day! :)

Kayecee~girly, sounds like you have had one heck of a week! Sorry to hear about you getting sick, and about your cat :(

Angie~ HALITO! That is hello in Choctaw. I know you are gorgeous!! I didn't realize you were American Indian and Irish-I better be nice. Cracks me up because people would ask what our last name (1st DH) is and once you say it a zillion times they then ask does it mean something and when you tell them it means "To turn & kill" you get strange looks. Yes it really does mean to turn and kill.

Hi Susan, Katie & Shanna.

Well, ladies another fun day of packing for me. Don't want to spend too much time on the 'puter. I am sure I will be back later. Have a wonderful Sunday ladies. See ya

Marti 02-15-2004 12:34 PM

Morning ladies--

Well lets see, a lot of people do get divorced after being married on 2/14. I think it's kind of like getting a tattoo of your partners name on your body....NEVER do it! It's just something about being married on that day. I think that day should be reserved for Romantic proposals.

Jana--I would like to do the signature thing...but then you would never see mine budge! It may even go up!! :D Give me a week or two to see if it's going to change (I AM working on it....I even started walking!) and I will post it in my signature too. (or however you want to do it) And OH---What a lovely Valentines Day gift!! I think that is so sweet!! Even if you did get one before...

Kayecee--You poor thing!! Why is it the mom is always the last one to get sick? Why can't we be the first?? You sure have a hectic schedule! You girls are amazing you that? It's been so long since my schedule had me pulling my hair that once it happens... I believe that I'll have a major Panic Attack!! I hope you start feeling better and that you received our Valentines Cards to help cheer you up!!

Angie--I too would like to see a photo. Your description of yourself sounds so pretty! I am trying to imagine Part Irish & Native American...what color is your hair (naturally!) I am part Phillipino & American....when I reunited with my mom back in 2000...first things out of her mouth were..."you are so white! What happened? When did you become a blondy?" Ok now...you all seen my picture....A Blondy???? Made me laugh. I have never met any of my family in the Phillipines. Would be interesting even though I have no desire to go there to visit.

Hello to everyone else this morning......I better get off this thing. Jhanai is calling for me.

Take Care and I will check in later.
Marti

FrouFrou 02-15-2004 12:37 PM

Hi Angie~our anniversary is May 12. You know finding your family history is so cool. DS is doing both sides of the family but on my side has found that we are direct descendents of George Washington. I couldn't believe it when he told me. He has found some really interesting stuff. A lot of our family is from England and Germany. He has really done his research. Sorry to hear about those kids. I wonder why kids do that kind of stuff? I wouldn't be able to sleep after that either.

Marti 02-15-2004 12:39 PM

Cristi---

I must have been posting the same time... I just took longer to submit!! Hello to you!!

A comment on the wedding day....I only think Holidays should be omitted. Any other day is good to me. Like James and I want to get married on my grandparents anniversary...I believe their 46th or 47th....I think it's neat that you were married on your birthday.

Ok....I have a request from Jhanai about Strawberries...they're HUGE!! I will chat later.

Marti

FrouFrou 02-15-2004 01:05 PM

Hi Marti~I think Angie & I were posting at the same time and then when you and I must have been posting as I was posting to her. :) I agree with the holidays. Our second choice was Christmas and then thought no, no, no. Even though we did marry on my birthday and it is special, I just like the two events to be special and seperate, but they are not. DH doesn't know what to put on the cake-Happy Mothers Day, Happy Anniversary or Happy Birthday! Last year he did put all three. Of course I definitely would NOT want three different cakes so in that respect it is a good thing. This year I am planning something special since it will be our 5th. I am going to order the cake-a wedding type cake and focus on "our anniversary" rather than my birthday. He has no clue! So if any of you ladies have any ideas PLEASE tell me. I am going to buy some luminaries (sp?) and line the walk from the porch to the front door and try to recreate our wedding flowers for a center piece. That's all I have for now. Except a nice family dinner at a nice restaurant.

Okay, I am outta here for real now ladies. See ya later

Kayecee 02-15-2004 01:53 PM

Antibiotics and Chocolate!

Yes girls- that's what happens when you're sick on Valentine's Day! I think I've gone through a whole 10 pounds of chocolate by myself! :p

Angie- I say you go and kick his little butt! :sumo: O.k.- O.k.- I know you can't really do that, but I know I sure felt like it when Landon got sucker-punched. :( What did his parents say? They should make him come clean up the mess. How many did they throw? About the other kid- my SIL had some parents who would literally drop him off in front of their house and be halfway down the road before she realized he was there. They continued to do it even after she asked them not to. After a couple of times of this, she had to get kind of ugly before they would stop. Sometimes you just have to be a witch to some people.

Cristi- Oooooooo- your anniversary plans sound lovely. I can't even remember what my flowers looked like. And I love luminaries. They make everything look sooooo romantic.

Marti- O.k. now you've got me drooling for some scrapbook supplies. :( I had a huge collection before our fire- papers- scissors- calligraphy pens- dies- you name it. Now I'm missing it all! :( I guess I may start haunting the Wal-Mart isles and stocking up. :dizzy:

Jana- Weight loss AND bling bling? You go girlfriend! :D I think I'm jealous! ;)

Hi Susan, Katie, and Shann! Did I miss anyone? Since I've been sick, I've been having major brain farts! (On second thought, I was having those before falling ill! ) Thanks for all the get well wishes and the valentine cards. ACK! I think I'm gonna go crawl back under the covers for a while.

da fat n da furious 02-15-2004 04:19 PM

Oh Kaycee you make me laugh,,,weightloss and bling bling? Too funny!

I called his mom's cell # but it was not on...so I called the house again and actually talked to the kid....he says 100% that it wasn't him. I personally don't believe him,,he made some remark about being in trouble for sneaking into a bar recently. And then made a comment about seeing us at Blockbusters last night and blamed us for his flat tire. hmmm when I know his parents aren't goingto be happy when they get back from their weekend away. He said he was home all night and has a witness some girl name Alison...hmmm and the hole gets deeper. I warned him that by tonight I better have a call from him about who it was...I know it was him but I warned him that its a $150. per egg fine for vandalism.
Monte and I finished the tax stuff we had started like 2 months ago...nothing like procrastination at its best.
Notice my ENTER key is working again?
My natural hair color is dark brown. When I was young it was mousy brown then went redish and darkened over the years till I turned 26 and started going grey. For a few years I colored it as close to my natural color as possible to my crazy cousin without telling me colored it a deep red. And Ive kinda stayed that way till Oct when I did the rooster thing. Right now I have it colored a deep plum or as Monte says,,,purple,,,Brandon calls it black..(poor kid is colored blind) and says great his mom has gone Goth...lol
Well back to the taxes...*sigh
Angie

Mom2Gaby 02-15-2004 07:10 PM

Hi

Trying to catch up!!

SO, sorry about your cat, Kayecee. That sounds horrible, also that you haven't been feeling well.Hope the coming week is a better one for you!

Thanks, Cristi & Jana on the pound lost! I feel better already, also though I wos going to add that I stopped my nasty habit of diet pepsi chugging.

I usually had some in the evenings to boost my energy for the evening shift that I work. So, while I came to JL at 160, I was up to 164, I think stopping the soda helped a lot, also the water in take.

Today I had 5 slices of bacon....lol.Pretending to be on the Atkins diet or something. Just couldn't get away from sucking that bacon grease, tasted great!!! I got a hold of myself though.....course I ran out of bacon.I think I ate Rachels share because she got mad......lol

I must say Angie is a beauty!! She really is , especially when she is all dolled up.My thought is she has a heart shaped face?? Anyway, until she post a picture just wanted to say that she is very, very pretty....

I will just send you a picture of Gaby, Cristi. Tomorrow is her birthday and we just are planning a small celebration.I think when I get my taxes we will go on a trip, the girls & I.
The movie Rachel & I saw yesterday was "Stand up and be served" ???? think that is the way it went.Lots of music, she enjoyed it.
I would like to see Somethings Gotta Give, or Mystic River.......

Would LOVE To go to Disney World, Jana!! You are so lucky!

I am glad you and James are having a great holiday weekend Mari!! Sounds like you and Jhanai are having a super mom & daughter weekend as well, that is nice to read.

Hi Katie, Hi Shanna!!
Oh, Ang. The little brat sounds like a brat!!! lol Went through a thing with Rachel a while back where a group of kids followed her home and started a fight. Her dad went outside to try and break it up and was knocked down.A big to do with the kids at school throwing her clothes in the toilet.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is you really have to keep track of these kids now a days. Watch them like a hawk. I don't think I would leave my 16 year old alone.

Good luck on the over nighters too!! Sometimes when I pick up Rach she has other girls with her wanting to come home and I say no. One rule my dad had when growing up is that if we asked if other kids could spend the night in front of him the answer would already be no, he didn't like the pressure....
blah,blah.......

Oh.........do you live on a farm, Jana???? Sounds like you might or at least with land around you?? Must be nice??

Best get back to the girls.

Susan :)

Katiecat 02-16-2004 01:40 AM

just poppin' in...

Hi everyone! Hope you had a nice Valentine's Day. Hubby the Technogeek had to work, didn't get home until 11:30 pm. Spent the day with my almost-13-year-old son, shopped and went out for coffee, then came home and fixed a late-night dinner for Tim (I know, gotta stop eating late, but this is his last week on these hours).

Susan - Hot Topic is popular with my kids, too. Noah has taken to wearing a lot of black, dyed his hair black, and loves T-shirts from Hot Topic -- especially with pictures of Invader Zim, this weird cartoon that he loves. I actually like shopping at Torrid, which is the Hot Topic store for us "curvy girls". ;) My favorite bean? I dunno...maybe little white beans like for ham and bean soup. Actually, the last time I made it was with a 11 bean mix, and it was really good.

Jana - Whoo hoo! 12.75 lbs? That's almost 13 BOXES OF BUTTER!!! Way to go! I bought brown rice; I'll just make some for me, and see if Tim likes it...I made wild rice for Valentine's dinner and that was a big hit. I love sapphires! My birthstone, too....my wedding ring is a heart shaped sapphire :)

Marti - I usually dread Friday the 13th, but this one wasn't too bad. I filled in for the senior rep on our team at work, and my supervisor wasn't there, which meant I got to take escalated calls from angry customers -- you know, the "I want to speak with your supervisor!!!" calls. But it went pretty well, over all. I think those rub on pictures are called "transfers"? My latest scrapbook vice is the 3-d stickers from Jolee's Boutique -- they are soooooooo cute! Have you seen them? As for holiday weddings, we got married on St. Patrick's Day -- but it was really fun, and it's not like people do anything special on that day, other than drink green beer and eat corned beef :lucky: We try to do something fun on that day though -- one year, I managed to get tickets to Riverdance, and that was a blast. :dancer:  :dancer:

Angie - You have to take a picture of that bathroom...I want to see the daisies! Well, I haven't been finding the pounds that everyone is losing, but my own pounds seem to be happy and comfortable living where they are... I think I need to tell them to go get a job or something, and quit hanging around my tummy and thighs... I love Finding Nemo -- I have quite a collection of Disney movies.

Cristi - 5th anniversary coming up? That's wonderful! :) And you'll get to celebrate it in your new home. Do the two of you have a special song? Ours is probably - believe it or not - "If I Had a Million Dollars" by Barenaked Ladies.

Kayecee - I am very sorry to hear about your kitty. :( I was starting to wonder if you were sick, after taking care of everybody else. We've missed you! So, take your medicine, lay around on the couch, watch TV, read trashy romance novels, and make everybody wait on you hand and foot until you are better! ;)

Finally got my checkbook balanced today, and the budget done for this month. Tomorrow I'll pay the bills and hopefully get our taxes done. Hate doing 'em, but it's such a relief when it's finished. Talk to you ladies later!

Katie

Marti 02-16-2004 02:20 AM

Hello--

Doing another quick pop in.

You know something....the 12 boxes of butter is a great way to think of what Jana has lost so far...but get this for my visual...my son was 6lbs. 4oz. when he was born....Jana you just had twins!! Soon you will have triplets...then quadruplets...and so on!!

Katie--You are right...transfers. In fact my daughter was telling me that after I had already posted. Where was she when I needed to know the word?? :dizzy: I haven't really paid much attention to the stickers yet...just been getting the basic stuff....only because...I could go crazy on everything! I already have a list for my next trip to the crafts store!! Also...I'm trying to think of a way to rearrange my office room to add a crafts table. I'm constantly going back and forth to the coffee table to the dining room table. I need to get it out of the living area all together!!

Susan--Do YOU have a photo of Angie that you can share!? :D (ok, I'm trying to be sneaky....I wouldn't post someone elses picture w/out permission either) BUT I TRIED!! You have described Angie as another Romance Novel Character! Boy it's going to be a great book!! :D

Angie--Without being told what color hair you have...I had already pictured you as a Goth Chic. I'm not sure why. I think it's because how you described your clothes. Me....I'm am as plain as you can get. Nothing stands out on me..besides the fact I'm short. :smug:

Kayecee--You've mentioned before about a fire.....when did that happen??!! And I'm so sorry that it happened!! I can't even begin to imagine that happening. So I'm not going to.....but speaking of scrapbooking....I'm always trying to think of the perfect look. Jana's right....I HAVE become obsessed!! I MUST slow down!!! (after I buy more stuff!! )

Please everyone....tell me if you're getting sick of listening to me!!

Cristi--Idea's for the 5th Anniversary...hmmmm.....you're going to be home so let's see......I like the luminary idea. How about playing "your song" on the stereo, have rose petals and chocolate kisses all over the floor in your bedroom and on your bed, with lots of scented candles, a bottle of Champaign (or Sparkling Cider if you don't drink) chilling on ice with two glasses with each of your names etched on the sides. ......-----oh wait...is there going to be more than just the two of you? Then maybe I better do some more thinking.... I will have to get back to you....... ;)

Ok ladies...I've spent more time on here than I expected to. I will check back in the morning.

Have a good night!!

Marti

Jane 02-16-2004 08:48 AM

Hiya ladies,

Kayecee - sorry about your cat. :( And I hope you are feeling better and that the family is taking real good care of you.

Angie - did the kid come up with a name? He sounds real guilty to me! His mom and dad will be very intersted in knowing what has gone on.

Susan - :gift::balloons:Happy Birthday Gaby!! :balloons::gift: About what your dad said, I always would tell my kids that if they asked if someone could stay for supper and the friend was standing right there, the answer would be NO automatically. I hated being put on the spot! Btw - yes, I do live in the country on a farm. We don't have animals except our dogs, and we rent the land to a neighboring farmer. I love it out here! Mary and her family lives in the old homestead, which is about 100 feet from me. I get to see my grandkids everyday, thank God. I don't know what I will do if they ever move.

Katie - your wedding ring sounds just beautiful! Good luck with the taxes. Ours are done. Guess how I sign them? Where it asks for your occupation, for the past two years, I have written Domestic goddess instead of Homemaker, I swear to you! Neal says they may audit us because of it, and I said let 'em! We don't have anything to hide. But last year there was no problem, so I'm sure this year will be okay, too. :D

Marti - Neal's and my wedding anniversary is the day after my birthday. My niece made him promise that he would always get me something for both days and not try to combine them, and he has always done a good job with that.

Cristi - speaking of anniversaries, for one of ours, I lead Neal on a scavenger hunt that ended up in a nice hotel. I arranged for an overnight babysitter (my sister) and when Neal came home from work, she gave him the note with the first clue on it. That one lead him to the 2nd, and so on. When he got to the hotel, I was waiting with candlelight and white wine. But now, if you're talking about a big group of people, this idea may have it's flaws, lol. o:

Regarding the weight loss, just think of the butter in sticks! My 12 3/4 pounds would be 48 3/4 sticks!! That's a lot of butter! Before long, I'll be in a smaller size. At my height, 5' 9", it takes about 15-17 pounds to switch sizes, but my clothes were really tight, and now they fit me nicely. I stayed OP over the weekend, which includes a few extra points on Sunday. Since I have stopped Spring cleaning, I'm going to get out the Walk Away the Pounds (WATP) video again.

Have a good day,
Jana

da fat n da furious 02-16-2004 11:22 AM

OOOOo Katie I so love the ideas the ladies are coming up with. Jana,,,Im stealing yours. Well I have done it before but for the kids and Skittles. Yes the dog was involved.. She was the gift at the end of the hunt. What I had done was taken a pic of her,,gone to Staples had them photocopy it onto thin cardboard. I got home and cut it up like a puzzle and then wrote on the back all these clues. Really hilarious since we were relatively new to the neighbourhood. And I had them going into the grocery store for some gum...the clue was given by the cashier. Then to blockbusters,,had a movie put on hold and the clue was attached to it. And the thing is all these places really got into it.
Now Monte has done exactly what Marti suggested. And thats all Im going to say on that...*blush
12 lbs of butter...or a bag of potatoes or flour. Anyway you look at it, it makes you wonder how you carried it around...and yet theres still more butter or potatoes that need to be dropped...lol I used that anology (SP) also too when I lost my big weight. Back then Tanner was like 60 lbs...so I lost 1 Tanner and 6 butters. *gulp

Well the Cops could not do anything cause this boy has an alibi. The kid called another friend of Brandon's and told him what was going on...how I was accusing him of doing this. So in other words,,,until some kid cracks nothing will be done. I need some advice thou. Shoulld I call the school and talk to one of VPs about what has happened and it may eleviate potential problems or explain certain behavior?
Marti,,,Im not Goth...really...I hardly wear black. Reds and browns are my colors.
So today is Family Day,,,no school still (small voice *help me*) Im thinking Ill take the boys to see Haunted Mansion..
Angie

Morning ladies~

First off I have to say :gift: :hb: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Little GABY!!! :hb: :gift: Susan I hope you guys have a fun birthday party!

Second, great ideas ladies and :thanks: but I have to nix the romance ideas. :( well sort of, the hotel yes but I think it will still be somewhat romantic. I have thought about that but I want to include the kids in the celebration since they were a part of the wedding also. Katie we do have a favorite song, actually two (Give Me Forever (I Do) by James Ingram & John Tesh and also Now That I Found You by Terri Clark) and I am going to make a CD of the songs that were played on our wedding day, plus add a couple of new ones that fit us now. The champagne-there definitely will be some Marti, we are not really drinkers but once in a great while when there is a special occasion. There is a place (Personalized Creations) that will put the names, and date of a birthday or anniversary on the label,a nd I think a message-I think that is a great keepsake. Of course I need to be ordering it soon, takes a while if I remember right. That's about all I have for now though. I REALLY appreciate the GREAT ideas ladies.

Katie~your ring sounds gorgeous!! I love heart shaped anything. Sapphires are so pretty too! My wedding ring has emeralds in the wrap-because we married in May of course and it is also my birth stone-of course.

Jana~I never thought about weight loss in terms of butter sticks etc. Makes you really think about it doesn't it? WOW, I mean just imagine those 48 3/4 sticks of butter glued to you. I think I need to start thinking like that, or bags of flour/sugar etc.

Marti~you will have more fun when you discover using stickers when scrapbooking-so much fun!!! I am a sticker addict!

Angie~sorry the cops couldn't do anything to the kid. Do you have any idea what his parents said about it all if anything?

Hi Susan, Shanna & Kayecee.

I weighed in this morning and am very disappointed, I gained 1.5 lbs. :yikes: Jana, I haven't started the FT as of yet I am hoping to next Monday once things have settled down somewhat. Things have been hectic the past few weeks and I know that is no excuse but I have been scatterbrained. I will be glad when this is all over. I will try to post pictures of the house later this evening, been meaning to since I got the pictures. Also scrapbook pages will have to wait. Talked to DS about using his camera and he said it is not working for some reason, he can take pictures but he can't load them to the computer. I told DH this and he is wanting to get a digital camera so we may do that in the next couple of weeks. I didn't think we really needed one before but I guess they do come in handy sometimes. Anyway, I will try to post as much as possible this week ladies but I am afraid my posts may be sparse. I know tomorrow I won't as we will be busy all day and into the evening. DH and I are making a trip to the dump first thing in the morning. We have a walk through with the builder at 1 pm and then close at 3 pm. Then off to pick up new beds for DD & DS to take to thenew house and then start painting. I am going to line all the shelves while there also. Busy, busy, busy. I will definitely check in later and if I get up early enough in the morning. Anyway, have a WONDERFUL MONDAY LADIES!! Gotta go for now.
