Chit Chat # 25
Welcome everyone,
We are a group of ladies who support each other through all of life's ups & downs, not just weight loss. Won't you join us? Jana |
Hi ladies,
Cristi - thanks so much for the birthday greetings for Mary! I've printed it, and will take it to her when we go over for pizza after while. You said to send ds-i-l to you, trust me, there are times I would LOVE to, lol!! He is basically a really good guy, but sometimes he gets on my nerves, you know what I mean? Shanna - hon, I agree with the others! This is just as much your thread as ours, and you aren't even a newbie anymore. Angie - I can't go to bars and bingos anymore because of all the smoke. Nothing worse than a reformed smoker, I guess, because I just can't tolerate it at all. Marti - dang, I forgot what you said, but I'm sure it was nice. Anyway, hope you are having a good day. Okay, recently I got a copy of the WW's new "Fast Track" program, and tweaked it just enough to make it doable for me for 1 week. Then I did my shopping and the house is full of healthy foods. I hate to wait for Monday - it's such a cliche - but will begin then, because I had already planned on regular stuff for the weekend. I've had a talk with my family, and asked them to intervene with me if I begin to fall off the wagon. Neal and Katie are going to do the same evening meals as me, even though they are fairly restrictive. They both have put on a few holiday pounds. After the first week, I will do the regular WW program. Walmart was a mad house today! You can tell everyone's on a diet, because the produce department was so crowded! People were on me like ugly on an Osborne! :D :D :D Better run, be good, Jana |
Evening ladies--
I'm going to make this one quick.. I need to get to bed since I have an early class tomorrow. Jana you're going to have to explain to me what WW fast track is. I've never heard of it. Sounds interesting. Oh... I wish I knew what was on the other thread...hard to remember! (my age is already getting me!) I've talked to James about our weekend. I told him that I wanted him to model for me in the mountains. Take his camera (a really nice one) and try and act professional with it. He just laughed. Wonder if I can do it. If I do,,, I will post them once I get them developed!! Our weather is strange. It was sooo Spring like today. I loved it. Then it's showers the rest of the week. We'll see if the weatherman is correct. Ok...this wasn't one of my most interesting post....just wanted to say hi. And babble on about nothing! :D I will be back tomorrow..hopefully with something interesting to say!! Marti BTW....I bought some Valentines Day Cards today.. There are so many that are so cute!! Wish I had grade school again so I could exchange some! |
Tgif!
Hello ladies,
Marti - do you have an interest in photography? Or just in James, lol! I would love to see whatever pictures you take. Our weather is weird, too. It was very cold and blustery yesterday and it's suppposed to get 40-something today! No wonder everyone is sick! I normally only exchange a valentine with Neal, not even my kids, but if everyone here wants to exchange them, count me in. Cristi - I took the printed message you sent for Mary over to the party last night, and she was really surprised! She said to tell you that it was very sweet of you, and thank you very much! Hi also to Angie, Kayecee, Shanna, and anyone else I may have missed. I'm meeting Neal in town today after classes to run a few errands. This is something we weren't able to do before his mom passed away. I really enjoy it, and so does he. The WW Fast Track is a lower point diet that gets you started with a nice weight loss. There are 3 specific ones to choose from and they are all very, very healthy. The choices are Higher Protein, Higher Carb, and Higher Protein, Red Light Version. (No, it has nothing to do with Ladies of the Evening! :D ) It is red-lighting the carbs for a certain time of day, for those you struggle with them. Anyway, you are supposed to follow this for 2 weeks, but I am doing the Higher Protein one for Mon-Fri next week, and the fam is doing it with me for dinner. Any Jaded Lady who wants a copy of one of them, just let me know and I will mail it to you. I retyped the Higher Protein one so it is easy to read - the others will be itty bitty print. Also, I am going to start a weight loss scrapbook. I have taken a couple of pictures of myself at my current weight, and want to add a photo every month or two. In it, I will also keep a list of motivators and a reward sheet. I am going to post a picture of me at the Yahoo site - I'll let you know when it is ready. Better run - have a good Friday! Jana |
Quickly now...
Wow Jana--
Scrapbook?! I was telling James that I wanted to make one too. Great minds do think alike don't they? ;) I told him that I want to take a photo of myself every first of the month. Wearing the same thing, and see if there is an improvement. :^: (And I sure hope there is!!) Having that done is like an extra incentive to lose the weight! Ok..I have to get ready for school, classes start in two hours and I still need to take a shower! Post more later, Marti Oh...BTW... I would like a copy of that info of the fast track...unless it come in the magazine.....although... I haven't received one in awhile!! But anyway... I would like one. Thanks |
T.g.i.f.
Hi ladies and a HAPPY Friday to everyone! :)
Jana~you and Mary are both welcome! How was the celebration? I just know you guys had a blast! Isn't it great to spend time with DH? For a while I was meeting DH for lunch, of course he was home for the month. We would really like to get away for a weekend together but don't see that happening for a while. What classes are you taking? Marti~hey great idea and while you are taking photo's of James make sure you have him take some of you! Are you guys going away for the weekend? Did I miss that somewhere? The scrapbook idea is a great one ladies! I started one last year but haven't added to it in a while-thanks for reminding me! ;) Marti, I also thought about wearing one outfit for the duration to see the results but haven't done that. Of course I haven't lost enough weight yet to actually notice a difference. this year I will though and I will finish the scrapbook. I also thought about putting together a scrapbook of family for the reunion, instead of taking photo albums or taking photo's out of the photo albuma nd forgetting where they go. Hi to everyone else. Hope you all are having a great day and have a wonderful weekend! Take care. :) |
Good evening ladies--
Cristi--James and I aren't going away for the weekend...I just wanted to go up to the mountains and take some pictures....but now it's pouring outside! Thats no fun! Would start raining for the weekend. But when I do get him up there... I will have him take pics. of me too. Jana--I have a very high interest in James! :D But I also like taking pictures. I used to take pictures of Jhanai all the time....then we got the digital camera, and for some reason....I just don't take as many. Which is why I wanted to get the old Camera out. I love taking them in, then getting surprised at how they turned out! I need to get the pictures of Jhanai when she was a baby from her dad. We have doubles, I just never got around going through all the photos albums and seperating them. Well, I've been doing pilates every night. I forgotten how I missed working out! James and I used to go everyday after work.....my muscles miss me taking care of them! So I'm going to work on getting them back into shape. My gut is fighting me!! It want's to hang around. :dizzy: That's my trouble spot. This is the first time in a long time that I've seen a "spare tire" around my waist! And I don't like the looks of it at all! Not very flattering and I don't want to wear any of the new tops I had bought last summer! I feel I need to hide behind long tops and baggy sweatshirts. Here is something OT. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and I saw an older couple I knew through my ex-in-laws....they don't remember me at all so I didn't stop to chat. Anyway...they live waaayyyy up in the mountains, I believe on one of the mining claims....and I was looking at the wife. Now this situation I don't understand....she is an extremely large woman....350 plus....she purposely got this large to claim for disability. Now, I understand that it's their own business to do what they want to do, but I don't think it's good for her health..(she's shorter than me and I'm 5'!) Now I wasn't feeling sorry for her in the sense of her weight, and I wasn't dissing her for the foods she was shopping for..what upset me, was the way her husband treats her. She's so large, she doesn't fit in the cab of the truck...so she travels in the bed. How can he just throw her in the back of the truck and think that this lifestyle is good? It has to be somewhat humiliating! I asked my M-I-L years ago how the woman feels, and she said that this woman doesn't think anything of it. But does she really? They own a small pickup truck....couldn't he at least get a larger one so she is up front with him? I just don't understand it. The husband is not large at all. They told me years ago that since they live way out on mining claim that they don't have jobs, they just live off what ever gold he finds, (which can't be too much) which is why she does this. I had no idea what to say to that. I just felt sad thinking that this can't be her idea. And they are well known in town so it isn't like they hide themselves. I was honestly surprised to see her yesterday, it's been many many years since I've seen them, I would have thought that she would have tired of that kind of living. But I suppose that is all none of my business. I just wanted to see her husband show her more respect by not having her ride in the back of the truck! Ok....enough of my rambling. It's friday and I want to catch up on all homework and not have to worry about it for the rest of the weekend. Hope you're all enjoying your friday!! Take Care Marti |
Hi ladies,
I won't be able to be here in the morning, so here I am now, instead. Cristi - the celebration was lots of fun! Mary got mostly money for gifts, which she needs because she was pregnant last summer and had just given birth the summer before, so she needs some new clothes. She has her shape back, and looks great. I will bring my scrapbook when we meet and hope everyone else does too. Marti - it IS funny that we both thought of the weight loss scrapbook! Your idea of wearing the same outfit each time is a good one. Awwww, Marti! I feel so sorry for the woman who rides in the bed of the truck! She gets applause from me for braving the world and going out in that thing! I have to say I would never go anywhere, rather than ride in a truck bed! Except a hay ride, maybe, lol! Seriously, tho, my heart goes out to her. Hope you got all your homework done so you can enjoy the weekend. Btw, I'll send you a copy of the WW diet by snail mail. Neal, Makenzie and I made the quickest trip ever, to Evansville. They have a Disney store there, and so I got 2 more 4-day park hopper tickets. That's 5 total now, and I still need 4 more. All but one of the little kids will get in free, thank goodness! Anyway, we went in the mall, straight to the Dis store, made a quick stop at the carousel for Kenzie and me, and then back home. The bad news is, this store is closing Feb. 16, and then I'll have to get my tickets in Indy. Gotta run, be good, Jana |
Good evening ladies....
Marti, I don't know what to say about that woman,,,I read your post twice and am a bit shocked. As for photography...I really would love to get into that...and open a shop catering to plus size women and making them feel comfortable. I would love to do theme pictures...cute, seductive and classy. Black and white pics have always been my favorite. I used to take the boys to the park and chase them around taking pics,,,usually out of 24 ex. only 6-7 pics would turn out. But Ive got some great shots. IVe got one pic that I should of entered into a contest... Tanner had to have been about 2, hes laid back on our couch that had lots of cushions...anyways hes buck naked and holding a bag of cookies...hiding his *willie wonka* and the thing is even in b&w you can see that his lips are covered in chocolate and the look of bliss is well priceless. Im holding out for his wedding...hee hee Jana are all the Dis stores closing? Our JCS was filmed by (Canadian Broadcast) And aired tonight,,,I missed it...darn And we have hit every newspaper, frontpage! Tanner has had every teacher from his school either come or coming to see it...happy little camper right now. I was so honoured tonight when I overheard a woman at work talking about seeing this fabulous play last night....her friend asked what it was called and she said JCS...my cashier told them I worked on it. The woman was literally gushing all over me. After she left, my cashier joked that I had my very own groupie now....lol Well off to bed I go night all Angie |
Hey Y'all!
Boy!!! When you're out 4-5 days, you miss a TON!!! My server was down Monday and Tuesday (not that it mattered- this has been a BUSY week.) I'm so sorry that I didn't get to wish you a happy birthday Marti! Here it is:
:hb: :balloons: Happy Birthday Marti! :hb: :balloons: and also :hb: :balloons: Happy Birthday Mary! :hb: :balloons: O.k. let's see- where to start- first of all, I finally found a beautiful red Dodge Caravan completely loaded with EVERYTHING! It is sooo huge compared to my Jeep. The kids adore it. They have so much room inside. And it has all of the bells and whistles that I was looking for. It's so funny how God works. I looked on the lot where we usually buy from on Sunday and they only had one stinking van that looked like a throwback to the 60's. So Tim goes up there on Monday and gets the cherry bomb jeep for me to drive after school. He drives up and it's awful on the inside. The interior has rips and it has no fancy features at all like my old one. So I drive it back to the lot and we drive an Xterra or something. Again, I wasn't thrilled, but I liked it o.k. So we are going to take it home for the night and as I drive around the lot, I notice that they have added 4 more vans. So I beg Tim into stopping and at least letting me look- and the last one was absolutely perfect!!! The only thing missing on it are controls on the steering wheel for the radio. Other than that, IT'S LOADED! Needless to say, we have been burning up the road with 2 new vehicles this week which is one reason that I haven't posted. Uh... and BTW.... when we were cleaning out Tim's old truck last week, do y'all wanna know what I found... let me give you a hint... around December 15th I said, "Honey, here's the mail. Will you drop it off at the post office and get some stamps for all my cards?" Tim's reply was, "Yes dear!" Soooo.... if any of you were wondering.... that's why I didn't send you a Christmas card. MEN! I haven't had to tutor the little boy. THEY LET HIM BACK IN SCHOOL!!! Forget the fact that his dad has had to come and pick him up every day... and now he has found the wonderful pleasures of spitting.... and we had to chase him down a couple of times last week..... and once when I caught him, he tried to kick and bite me..... Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh! I am sooooo sick of this. But they won't put him in ISS (in-school-suspension) because there are a couple of 6th graders in there right now. So frustrating! And on top of all that, this sweet little girl likes Landon. He has been "dating" her since mid-December. Anyway, one of the main street hoodlums likes her too. So what does he do? On Tuesday after school, I was doing crosswalk duty and Tim comes to pick us up. He's sitting there when Landon comes around the corner of the building with a busted lip. This bully is smaller than Landon and afraid of him but some high schoolers egged him on. Landon is walking with his backpack full of books and a Coke in his hand. This punk runs up BEHIND him, shoves him to the ground, sucker punches him, then runs over to his high school buddies!!! His lip was busted and it knocked a tooth loose! Talk about a momma bear raising some H*LL!!! I was sooo mad. If it were a fair fight, Landon would have stomped his butt. As it was, he knew he couldn't chase him down because the high schoolers would have creamed him. I called the dentist and we lucked out because it was a baby tooth. A couple of the cops on the force are friends of ours and one of them came out. We could have pressed assault charges, but she said that because of the punk's age, he would probably just get a little slap on the wrist and sent home with the attitude that he can do anything he wants and there won't be any consequences for him. The principal was all over him like white on rice the next day. And of course Landon was really upset over the whole incident. He's a tall boy for his age and he's never been in a fight before. He's a really nice little boy and everyone likes him so he's never had any trouble. Of course, the punk goes to school telling everyone that Landon jumped in his face and wanted to fight so he whipped him. Landon lucked out though because there were about 4 witnesses that quickly told everyone that he was a chicken little punk who back jumps and sucker punches because he knew he couldn't beat him in a fair fight. :D So it backfired on that bad boy! :D Well, kids and DH are up so I need to get off here. See y'all later. BTW I'm glad your DS is o.k. Cristi! |
Hi Ladies,
Angie - I asked the clerk at the Dis store where the nearest store would be after they closed in Evansville, and she said Indy, St. Louis and Louisville. So they aren't all closing. I heard that Walmart is buying them all, though, but that may just be a rumor. Wow, you and Tanner both are celebrities now! I am so happy for you both! Wish I could come see the play..... Kayecee - good to hear from you! Now you and I both have red vans, lol. About the Christmas cards, at least we know you tried, girlfriend! It's the thought that counts. Sorry about Landon's fight! It's good he had some witnesses. I'm a firm believer in "What goes around, comes around" so the dirty little punk who did this will get his someday when he least expects it! Marti - the WW Fast Track is on it's way to you via snail mail. The thing is, at your low weight, it may not be as effective for you.... give it a look and see what you think. I decided there was no reason to wait until Monday to begin WW FT since I am in the mood to begin, so keep me in your prayers! Ladies, I have to tell you that I don't open forwarded email at Neal's request. A while back, Katie got a virus in her's that killed the whole computer, and we had to pay $$ to get it fixed. So as much as I'd love to open them, could you just not send the forwarded ones? Everytime I have to delete them, I wonder what I missed out on! :( It's a shame that there are crazy psychos out there that have to ruin it for others!! I am tackling Mt. Washmore again today but mainly just goofing off watching music videos with Katie on VH1 and CMT. Better run, be good! Jana |
Morning everybody--
Kayecee--Good to hear from you. And thank you for the birthday wishes! So you got a luxury van eh? :) Ooh... I can see you now...both you and DH driving side by side getting the feel of your new vehicles, hand in hand! :D I am glad that you got a nice vehicle. Everybody deserves something nice! James is wanting to buy me a new car in the next year. I don't know why though. I love my supra. It fits me nicely. And it's sporty. But I won't complain if we actually do. :D :D Jana--Why are they closing the Dis store? Are they not getting enough business? We have one in one or our malls. I used to go in there a lot when my dd was very little. I still like going in there, but the prices are so outrageous on some things and I would love to buy a few things in there!! Angie--B/W photos are fun! And you get such great results on some of them too! I think we should each post a favorite photo of our kids sometime!! Go through all our pictures then find three that we like and post! That ought to be fun. And if you don't have kids around... then post some of your favorites of your family. What do you girls think? I will have to go through my pictures. Shanna--How you doing? You're still being shy girl! Cristi--I got your e-mail about those drawings. Aren't they incredible? I would love to draw that good. I used to be so good in high school. I even had some of my artwork published in a magazine they had for all schools....got to be presented with an award and everything. Just wish I knew what picture it was that they published!! (memory draws a blank!) No pun intended!! When I was pregnant with my son, I drew a picture of a puppy on it's mothers back and had it framed. Then I gave it to his mom-to-be....and she hung it in his nursery. I felt proud of that. Now...with soooo many years of not using the talent... I don't do so well. I draw ok... but I don't have that inspiration you get when you start to draw or paint. I always felt this ...I can't explain it.. a feeling I get when I want to draw or paint. I just can't pick up a pencil or paintbrush and just do it. Crazy I know. Well.. I hope you all have a great weekend. I will check in later. Have fun. Marti |
Good evening ladies,
Marti- the Dis store in Evansville is a joke. Mostly what it has is stuffed animals and kids clothes. Very few adult clothes, few movies, not many fun things! But at least it was closer than Indy! We are expecting an ice storm later tonight so Neal went to town for milk and bread. My internet line goes balookey with just a stiff breeze; an ice storm may totally shut me down! Day 1 of WW FT is done and successful! We had baked Tilapia fish for supper, and it was really good! I sprinkled just a tad (less than 1/2 tsp.) of Italian bread crumbs on each fillet for some extra flavor. Neal is being a sweetie by doing this with me. What's everyone doing this weekend? Well, gotta run, see you tomorrow, Jana |
Just a quick pop in tonight.
Went to town today and bought the pups some "healthy" food from the "Healthy Pet" store. I told James that if they're going to have a healthy diet,,, then we need to follow suit! He agreed. Of coarse we were terrible and went to a Ford Grill restaurant or cafe (whichever you want to call it) and had milkshakes. I orders a grilled chicken sandwhich and ate half. Felt guilty enough having the milkshake. Bought myself another pilates video tape. It's 70 mins. long. I've enjoyed the short one I had and I wanted something that lasted longer. We shall see how I survive this video. It's for beginners so it shouldn't be too bad. Well,, I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I will chat tomorrow. Marti |
Morning Ladies! (and I use that term loosely! ) Nothing much on this end. Bought a few groceries and got some wood. One of the men that Tim did a job for is building a cedar log cabin so he told us that we could have all of the scrap that we wanted. It smells soooo heavenly. For some reason, the smell of cedar has always driven me nuts. hee hee Then we went to BIL for nickel poker. Tim and I lost about $3.75 all together. :( But we sure ate good! We had crawdads (yuk! not me!) snow crab, fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, ..... I could go on but I'm getting hungry! We brought the crab, shrimp, and propane so with our losses, we spent about 40 bucks- which is about what we spend at a nice restaurant, but this is soooo much more fun! :) Has anyone ever made snow crab? It's so easy that I couldn't believe it the first time I made it!
Jana- Well it's nice to see that we have the same taste! :) What kind of van is yours? Is the WW fast track the same as the Wendie plan for WW? I wondered how that worked. I hope you do well on it. I hope your ice storm isn't too bad. Our temp is 45 degrees here right now, so I don't think I have to worry about it heading our way. :) I hope your server doesn't freeze (pardon the pun) ;) It would be the pits to be iced in with nothing much to do. At least with the puter, you can play a game or talk to us. Good luck and be safe! Marti- If you get a new vehicle next year, why don't you try a red van? I hear that very tasteful people buy them. As for the drawing thing, it doesn't sound nuts. Everyone at school comes to me when they need a poem because I can usually crank one out on the spot. BUT they also know that my "muse" has to be on. A couple of times a year, my "muse" seems to freeze for a few days. I don't know why that happens. I've always wanted to write a book, but I'm afraid I'll get it halfway done and my "muse" will decide to leave and not come back! I'd love to see something you've done. Angie, Cristi, Shanna, and anyone else out there- how's it going with y'all? Does anyone have a good and tasty recipe for salmon steaks? I've never tried salmon before and we are on such a seafood kick around here, that I bought some yesterday and now I don't know what to do with them. Gotta go and get some housework done. I swear I haven't had a chance to do a thing all week and now it looks like a toy box threw up in here. (And we won't even discuss Mount Washmore!) See y'all later. |
Hi Ladies,
Marti - I forgot to mention your drawings in my last post. Can you show us some? I would be very interested in them. I see what you mean about if the dogs are going to eat healthy, you guys should too! That's easier said than done, tho. Good luck with the new tape. Kayecee - my van is Chrysler Town & Country, candy apple red, grey leather seats, lots of options, no radio on the steering wheel, tho. Yes, dahling, we have such good taste, lol. The thing I like a whole lot is the bag holders in the back - little circle thingys that you hook your Walmart sack over.... cool! I posted a links for salmon recipes in the recipe thread, okay? Write a ditty about the Jaded Ladies to share with us, okay? And please don't rhyme it with Nantucket! :D I will email you with the details of Wendi and Fast Track, okay? Meanwhile, I posted some pictures of me and our dogs. The pic of me does not even begin to show how huge I am, and when I've had a nice loss and take more pics, I'll post a couple of full-length ones. Also, this is a vanity thing, but my teeth are NOT yellow as they appear inthe pic! I don't know why they showed up that way, except the orange light for the Red Eye Reducer was on. About the dogs, Molly is my girl and only tolerates Neal. She bites his feet when we dance together, lol. Chloe is a spoiled baby, and Rosie is old and almost blind. The ice storm is on us like a hobo on a ham sandwich! We are stuck til it melts, but don't need anything. I can't believe the computer server is still working! Thank God for small favors, right? Better go, bbl, Jana |
Afternoon dahlings--
Kayecee---If we were to get another vehicle, James wants a Dodge Durango. Go figure, get something nice and spendy! :D If we do,,, I will try to find a red one! Jana--I wish I had my artwork. But I don't. When I moved out of my parents in high school, I left it, and I don't have most of it anymore. I think I may have one or two things I've drawn... I will have to hunt it down. Sure wish I could get "into" drawing again. Jana, you are so cute!! I like your photo. Now I have a face to you, Cristi, and of coarse Shanna. Kayecee...Angie.....you're next! I don't know why, but I pictured you with darker hair. I should have realized that you may be a redhead with your grandkids being redheads! Post more! I think I need to clean my albums up and post new ones. But first I need to take pictures! I've done some pilates this morning. I haven't tried the tape yet, since the James is still sleeping and the VCR I use is in my room. Maybe later tonight or tomorrow night when James is at work. Kayecee, I hope your salmon turns out delicious. I was surprised to read that you've never tried it before. I love salmon, but my preferrence of coarse is Halibut!! Love it. To prepare our salmon.. we put tinfoil in a baking dish, lay the salmon in and dot it with butter, sprinkle some lemon pepper, garlic and dill, squeeze some lemon and then wrap the tinfoil around it and bake for 20-30mins. Good stuff! Oh...this probably should be in the recipe thread. Well...no need to write it twice and for you to read it twice! Ok ladies.... I need to get ready to go to town for some grocery shopping. You all take care and I probably will check in later. Marti |
Afternoon ladies~
Jana~your photo's are great! You are a beautiful lady and your teeth don't look yellow at all.
Marti~I am with Jana on the drawings-we would love to see them. My kids are great with that kind of stuff. DS#1, is so good writing poems he amazes me and others. DS#2 is excellent with drawing, even on the computer-also amazes me, and DD got both-she is excellent at painting, drawing and writing poems and she too amazes me. Of course they don't get any of that from me. I am a little crafty and somewhat decent at decorating but I could never draw, paint or write a poem. They definitely got that from their dad and the indian in them. Their dad was talented also. That is just so sad Marti about that lady having to ride in the bed of a pickup, so degrading. My heart goes out to her because while she may not seem to mind she has to feel a bit slighted. I would feel so horrible, geez I feel horrible for her. Kayecee~CONGRAT'S on the new mini-van! I have had a mini-van for many years ( a Windstar, a Venture-red and now a Windstar again) and want to get an SUV, a small one of course, a Hyundai or a Saturn but I am not sure I would. I love all the room in the mini-van even if it is just me and DH most of the time. Sorry to hear about Landon, hope he is feeling better. Hi Angie & Shanna~hoep you ladies are doing fine. Not much going on with me today. Went to 11 am Mass-Father Mike was too funny today. Then went to lunch with DH. It is a cloudy, drizzly day. Going to catch up on some laundy and do some packing. I have filled up 3 tubs so far and DH got 4 more. I am putting things in them that really need to come out of the closet and be put in the basement, not the garage. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. TTFN :) |
Hmmmmm.... let's see:
Jaded Ladies met in Nantucket.... Decided to try their gambling luck-et... Kayecee tried to bluff... To win Antonio- so buff... Used an ace up her sleeve where she'd tucked it. The stakes kept getting higher and higher.... The others were beginning to tire.. Won the whole frigging pot Got him and Mel- so hot! Come on boys, y'all light my fire!!!! :hot:           |
Hi Marti & Kayecee!
Too funny Kayecee! More, more... :encore: :encore: |
Kayecee--
Loved it! Give us another one! Encore Encore!! |
Hi Ladies,
Thanks to all of you about the pic. My hair IS brown, but looks reddish in the photo! I was so worried about my teeth, I barely noticed my hair! :dizzy: Marti - good for you, doing the pilates! Your recipe for salmon sounds wonderful. I have never, ever had salmon steak, either. Growing up Catholic, (I'm Lutheran now) we had fish on Fridays, and my mom would often make salmon patties. Yum! I still eat the bones when I fix these. Cristi - Having a funny pastor is good, isn't it? Our's tells funny things that happened to him during the week, and I always enjoy that. Hope you got your laundry and packing done. Kayecee - what'd I tell ya about Nantucket??? LOL!! You did a good job! Well girls, I have had another very good day OP. My sweetie Neal is being such a good sport about this! Vincennes University is CLOSED tomorrow due to the ice. That practically never happens! So he is already planning to sleep late. I, however, plan to get up early and eat breakfast, lol. Better go, be good, Jana |
:encore: :encore: Thank you! Thank you! :encore: :encore: Actually, I cranked that one out in about 2 minutes and it's not one of my better ones. And sorry Jana, Nantucket is a lot easier to rhyme with than Evansville! :p :D And I had you pictured as a brunette too!
Marti- I tried the salmon recipe you gave me and :hun: yum! It was really good. (but I made it without dill because I didn't have any) Tim went nuts over it, so I guess we're really turning into seafood freaks around here. Oh well, with the mad cow scare, maybe that's a good thing. Do you think the dill makes a big difference in the taste? Cristi- Thanks. Landon's fine (but still mad) :) How is your DS doing? I hope you got lots and lots packed today. Angie and Shanna- How are you girls? Hope you had a good day. Well, gonna go play a few games on the puter and go to bed. I was supposed to have jury duty tomorrow, but it's been postponed until Tuesday. I hate when they do that. :( It's bad enough to have to plan your life around it, but when they keep putting you off...... See y'all later. |
Hi Ladies,
Where is everyone? Kayecee - do you ever play spider solitaire? It's lots of fun. I used to be totally obsessed with minesweeper, and even lost sleep to it! Here's a prayer that is appropriate for all of us, I think: Serenity Prayer God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference. Neal took me in the 4WD to Walmart today, and I couldn't believe how many people were out on the ice. I just about busted my butt getting into the store! We didn't really need anything, but I was getting cabin fever. I'm doing real good with WW FT. It really makes me appreciate the regular program. :D BBL, Jana |
Afternoon ladies--
Jana--I liked that prayer. I will print that and put it in my scrapbook! Very nice. I want to find all kinds of motivational quotes and prayers. I had another talk with James about the scrapbook idea and told him about how he needs to take my pictures for me, and how I planned on wearing the same outfit...he wanted to know if I was going to wear something skimpy! :o Can you believe that? Silly man. I plan on finding an out fit that I had bought before the weight gain and maybe seeing how awful it looks will get me strive for the right fit!! Kayecee--I'm glad you liked the simple recipe for salmon. We don't always have dill around...it just adds a little flavor. James makes this one sauce sometimes that has dill...I'm not sure what all is in it.. I think honeymustard or dijon mustard...I've been wanting to try it on Salmon.. so far we've only used it on Chicken Breast. I went looking for some of my old artwork.. I don't have any. I was disappointed. So I called my grandparents to see if I left any of it behind. They didn't have it. So much moving around back in my early 20's, I have lost them. But I do have one picture that I painted as a mural in the highschool. I look at it now and think "What was my art teacher thinking when he had me paint that?" It was a doodle to start with, then it just proceeded into something strange. It's not even that good!! Very child like (the drawing technique) Once I figure out where I put that, I will post it. You'll all laugh and think "And she believed she could draw?" Not much going on today. I have lots of homework I have to work on. I plan on getting that out of the way then spending an hour working out. I feel good afterwards....so I'm hoping I stay with the good feeling of doing it! Hi to Cristi, Angie & Shanna. Angie.. is your friend going to join us soon? I will check in later girls... I'm going to post in the twilight zone. Marti |
Hiya Girlies~
I am totally exhausted for some reason.Of course didn't get much packing yesterday-1 1/2 tubs. We have so much junk! Took DD to Olive Garden for lunch today for her birthday and boy was it yummy! :T Good thing I didn't have any breakfast. Then did a little shopping at the book store, got home just in time to take DS to his Dr. appointment. He's fine, the incisions are healing nicely but he is on restriction for work, no lifting more than 15 pounds and continue with the low-fat diet for another week, or until he goes back to the Dr again in 2 weeks. Other than that things look good. Now I am baking DD cake and baked potatoes for dinner. I prefer to buy store bought cakes but she always wants a pink heart shaped cake-hey it's her day so she gets what she wants. Well, as far as her cake and what she wants to do for the day.
All that talk about Salmon is making me hungry. :hun: Marti, your recipe may be simple but sounds delicious! Of course one thing-I am not a fan of Salmon. Like Jana, I have had the patties as my mother used to make them. I've only made them a few times because no one likes them. Those are delicious! Jana~I believe we got your weather. It has been icky most of the day. Started out with light snow this morning and by the time DD and I got home the roads were getting messy. Thanks for the prayer-that is one of my favorites. Marti~you will have fun doing the scrapbook-but be very careful-it gets addicting. I try to stay away from the scrapbook store here. I could spend hours there and of course too much money. If you ladies like to do puzzles online when you get bored let me know. I receive a daily puzzle and will share the site. I would tell you now but I can't remember the exact site. I will get it later. I love doing the puzzles and playing solitare. Hi Kayecee, Angie & Shanna-hope you ladies are having a fine day. I need to ge toff this thing for now and go get the cake frosted and start dinner. Take care ladies-talk to ya soon. :) |
Hey girls! Been studying my butt off and now I'm having "brain farts." There is so much technical junk to this CompTIA and I didn't realize that my brain had aged as much as my body has!
Cristi- Happy birthday to DD. Glad DS is doing o.k. Jana- I love any kind of card games and spider solitaire is one of my faves. I've always hated minesweeper for some reason though. Congrats on being OP. Marti- I'll trade homework with you. I don't think Powerpoint is as technical as this @%$#^&%&%. LOL Where's Shanna? Am I gonna have to whip her back over here? :) Hey Angie! Where ya at girlie? Night y'all. |
If Im not at work Im at the theatre...lol
I went to work this morning to no power at work. Its so cold here...brrr its like minus 30 but with the wind chill its like minus 40...I don't know how to convert it to what you use. Its just darn cold. I was feeling so good last week after taking my antibiotics,,,but yesterday I woke all stuffed up and sore throat again...*sigh not sure if I should make another visit to my Dr ...feel like such a whiner...always sick. Its also TOM and I feel bloated,,,crampy and tired and..... a two year old in a full blown temper tantrum! lol I was trying to remember old cheers and converting them to our other thread with Mel and Antonio...lol Well I should be getting to bed. night all Angie |
Hi Ladies,
Marti - lol, leave it to a man to ask about a skimpy outfit! For my scrapbook so far, I have the Serenity prayer, my mission statement, a monthly totals page just waiting for the entries, My first photos, and a Top Ten List of why I want to lose weight. If you do find any of your artwork, please post it... and if not, why not do some new pieces? That would give you something creative to do besides homework and we all would love to see them. Cristi - :gift: :balloons: Happy Belated Birthday to your DD!! How did the cake turn out? Tell her to eat a another piece for me! Glad to hear your son is feeling better. I'd love the addy for a puzzle each day! I even keep a puzzle book in the bathroom and work Crostics (Hard!) or sometimes, just plain old circle words and crosswords. Kayecee - Hope your brain is feeling better today! And no, you are not old! Anyone in their 30's is at their best. My dad said a woman in her 30's is at her prettiest, and I have to agree with him. Angie - I hope you are feeling better today. Sounds like you need some pampering! Also, don't forget John Michael Montgomery (JMM) when you do your cheers, lol. Shanna - uh-oh! I think I hear Kayecee coming after you! You better get in here FAST!! School is cancelled again today, so I'm making Katie catch up on all of her laundry. Talk about MAJOR Mt. Washmore! We had even more snow, and it is still snowing as I write this. Maybe tomorrow Katie can do her dad's and my laundry too! :D Just kidding, I wouldn't let her get close to my stuff - she is not particular at all, and I am... I am still OP, but will be very appreciative to get back to the regular WW! I have been going to bed hungry every night. Not terribly so, just enough to feel it. And as Bob Greene says, that's my body telling me "Hey, this is a warning - if you don't feed me, I'm going to start in on the extra fat!" YAY!! I'm going to do some more spring cleaning today. BBL, Jana |
Good Morning All~
Jana~thanks for the birthday wishes for DD! Here's the puzzle site: http:www.jigzone.com It is pretty cool of course I enjoy doing puzzles. I signed up to receive the puzzle of the day which I don't always do. But when I haven't done one in a while I click on the link anyway to basically keep it going. If there is no activity for a while they will quit sending them. But you can go to the site and find whatever puzzle you like. I too love doing all kinds of puzzles and keep a puzzle book by my chair, a lot of word search ones.
Kayecee~thank you also for the birthday wishes for DD. I think women are like fine wine. They get better as they age and I think women in their 30's and 40's are beautiful! Angie~okay, maybe I won't be visiting Canada! I thought it was cold here-brrrrr! I have always wanted to live there for some reason. I say for some reason because I have never been. Marti~hope you are having a great day at school. Thanks for the tip on the emails. I have been playing with it. I have had MSN for almost two years and just never messed with that because I don't send pictures. But I think they updated and added that not too long ago. I swear I never saw all that. :dizzy: Well ladies I need to get on witht he day. Not sure what I need to get done except there is always packing and cleaning to do. Oh before I forget check out thsi site. This woman made a quilt in honor of all who died on Sept. 11. When it comes up click on the quilt until it is big enough to see the faces. It is so cool and such an awesome tribute. Must have taken her a long time to do this, it truely is a labor of love. http://www.gzquilt.com/About_the_Qui...the_quilt.html Take care ladies and have a wonderful day! :) |
Long post.....
Evening ladies--
Cristi--Happy Birthday to your DD!! Sorry I didn't say it sooner. How old is she? Women are beautiful in their 30's and 40's? Fantastic!! I think I quallify! Now...If only I could think that of myself...... The picture of the quilt was....I have no words to express it....just awesome. I loved it. That took a lot of thought. And it turned out great! Thanks for sharing that. Where did you find the article from? Glad you like the tips for the e-mail. What did you think of the silly photo? I sent that to my daughter with the heading "Smiling big when I think of you" Of coarse she laughed at it and asked why I sent that picture!! Jana--Your scrapbook items are great. I was going to put in 10 reasons why I'm doing this too. Although if I thought about it long enough, I could probably list much more than that! I want to get it sometime this week and get stuff going. I was going to yap about it with Shanna today when we met at school...and we got to talking about everything but that!! I will have to e-mail her. Hey....she's online... I will tell her now! :) Angie--So sorry to hear you're feeling so miserable!! I don't care how whiney I may sound,,, if I'm feeling bad and nothing is working...I call the doctor! I hope you can get some extra rest and start feeling better. Kayecee--What is CompTIA? Sound complicated. I think I will keep the powerpoint homework! I am frustrated a little with how the class is taught though. She shows us so many cool things to do and it's pretty easy to learn,,but she's not really teaching us anything. Just showing us what's fun. And she gets all caught up in it...it's fun to watch..she's cute..but when we have homework it gets frustrating because I'm like...she didn't show us anything at all how to retrieve this or do that. Oh well... I'm surviving. Shanna--You're getting threats on here!! You better get your fanny back and make an appearance!! I'm all mouth, I can't back my words so I'm no good in a "situation"!! So if anything gets out of control....you're on your own. I'll be hiding in a safe corner! (hee-hee) Today was a good day. I got to spend time yappin with Shanna. Then I only had one class. Proofreading. And let me tell you, I've been proofreading everything now!! Then later I called Jhanai to see how school went and she just about cracked me up. I'm going to have to remember this for when she gets older. She told me that when school was over, she was getting into her backpack to get her gameboy out to play on her walk home and her friend (a boy) was waiting for her...she was fumbling around and found it and when she pulled it out...out flew her bra!! I started laughing and asked what is your bra doing in your backpack? She didn't know! So I asked her what her friend did. She told me that as soon as it flew out...she said "I hit gold" and just starting laughing with him. I'm so glad that she has a sense of humor!! I would have died of embarrassment!! :o Of coarse I kept laughing over the phone and she kept saying "It's not funny mom"....then she said..."yes it is" and started laughing all over again. Silly girl!! Ok.. I've got to tackle some Powerpoint....And that's all the homework for tonight! Then I'm actually going to go to bed early tonight! Imagine that!! You all take care Marti |
Marti~glad your DD has a sense of humor! She is just too cute! I too would have been embarrased at something like that at that age-I was sooooo very shy. Thanks for the birthday wishes for DD-she is the big 2-0! Gosh that makes me feel so old when I say that. I just don't her as being 20-years-old, she's my baby. Well, all three are my babies and will always be. Wasn't that quilt awesome?! I thought it was great that this woman did that and felt the need to share. DH SIL forwarded it to us from one of her friends. I don't know where they find this stuff but I am glad they share. She passes a lot of nice stuff and then I try to pass it on.
Angie~hope you are feeling better. Well ladies, just wanted to check in before heading to the bedroom. I wind down by watching Frasier and Spin City almost every night and then I am out. Hi to everyone else, Shanna, Kayecee and Kat, Carree, Mel, Michelle and anyone else I may have forgotten. Take care ladies and have a good night. |
Happy Hump Day!
Cristi - thanks a bunch for the puzzle url! As a fellow quilter, I have a great respect for anyone who puts their heart and soul into a project like that! I am also a Frasier fan, and can only get reruns since NBC and CBS are not offered w/my satellite. I can get CBS with snow using rabbit ears.....
Marti - Jhanai's bra story is a hoot! Kids can be so funny, and it is so good she can laugh at herself. At her age, I would've wanted to switch schools if something like that happened. She's a special one, Marti. Hi to Angie, Kayecee, Shanna and anyone I missed... Well, I am going to drive to town by myself today on the snow and ice. I've done it many times before, but not so far this year. School is cancelled again today. Katie will have to make up any days over 3. I have to tell you I am about to starve to death!! Although I feel good, since I am getting such good, healthy food, it is not enough for someone at my weight! But I am on day 5 of 7, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel! And truthfully, there are "free" foods I could eat to help, but I just don't want a big bowl of green beans and cauliflower, you know what I mean? I have tried to keep filled on water. It helps. But I will be real happy to get back to the regular program on Saturday! BBL, Jana |
Thank you Jana!
Good morning...
Quit post before I get ready for school. Jana--I received your info yesterday. I forgot to mention that and to thank you. Now...do you pick one from each column or one from each page? It looks as though it's one from each column but I just want to make sure. I believe I'm going to try that on Monday. My cupboards are pretty bare right now and I need to do shopping this weekend. I will be bringing the list. I want to renew my Costco Card. Buying Chicken there is fantastic!! (price wise) And the huge bags of veggies. Thank you Jana for sending me the info!! I will check in later tonight. Everyone have a great day!! Marti |
To my adoring fans
Not wanting to get my adoring publics panties in a twist over missing me, I have decided to stop my studying and next christmas's gift preparation to grace you all with my presence. For some reason I just haven't felt like getting on my computer lately. I have been in such a funk, I haven't felt like doing much I didn't have to do. I guess I am just depressed about my lack of self restraint on my diet and exercise plan that instead of doing something about myself and decided to pout and be sad. However I am trying to snap out it and marti telling me that everyone was threatening me got me off my fat buttocks and on to the boards. So thanks to you all for threatening me and lighting a fire under my behind.
I hope everyone is doing ok today and enjoy the feeling of being alive and well. Juts reading your guy's posts makes me feel better and laugh even when I don't post anything. You girls are a hoot!!! Jana: I enjoyed viewing your wonderful pictures. You shouldn't worry so much about how you look, you are so cute!!!!!!! Of course I better than most know that it is how we feel about ourselves and see ourselves that matters. Just know that I think you look lovely and happy go lucky!!!! I just think you dogs are sweet as well. I want another dog so bad. I had to give up my two babies a year after my ex husband left me with four pets and no money. I worked 12 hour days at the time and I knew they needed better. I also had to move because the house I was living at was selling the place. It was the hardest thing I had to do and I still cry about it. It still hurts. I spent more time than usually finding the right people to give them too, not anyone would do. The couple I gave my baby boy dog to, still keep me informed of his life. They right me letters in his voice, calling me "mom" and they had professional pictures taken of him and sent me a 5 by 7 picture for Christmas. They don't live far from me and I could visit if I wanted, but it would be too hard on my heart. Some people just don't understand how pets become your family, I gave away my babies and will forever feel guilty about that and like a piece of my heart is missing. So, I enjoy seeing others pets. Sorry, don't know why I rambled on about that, but My babies picture is on my computer and I thought about him. Sorry. :^: Kayecee: Whip my butt???? I dare you!!!! hee hee. Such threats!!!!!! You need to channel that rage somewhere else missy. Hee hee I hope you are happy now with this long rambling post about nothing and everything. I would hate to set you off again. :dizzy: I hope your day is going well and I jjst love your poems and limericks. You are very talented I enjoy reading or seeing someone else's work. You crack me up too, and that is a talent as well. Making people happy. Talk to you later, I promise. :grouphug: To everyone else, hello to you and hope the day is treating you well. This group rocks!!!! :bravo: |
Evening ladies--
Posting quickly tonight.. I'm very tired. And my back is all achey. Swung my backpack around with three classes worth of books and I pulled a muscle. Achey achey....is that how I want to spell that?? Shanna--you should post some pictures of you babies...they are so cute!! Everyone.. I hope you all have a good day tomorrow... I think I better get some rest! Take Care Marti |
Good morning Ladies,
Marti - about FT, yes, you take 1 from each column and 2 for the one that says 2. I have never eaten so healthily! Is Costco like Sams where you have to have a membership? Hope you got some good rest, sounds like you need it. Also hope your achey breaky back is better!! Shanna - I have most of the girls' addresses, and if you would like for me to have yours, PM me, ok? No, I won't sneak in your house and clean it while you are gone, but I might send you a card once in awhile, lol. Kayecee - you have been missing - Shanna is likely to come after YOU!! What's going on? Hi to Angie, Cristi and anyone else I missed. From the Animal Planet: (sort of) Day 6 of 7 on the Fast Track diet for the overweight mammal, and she is searching for food. Her prey is hidden and although she smells the air in hopes of finding what she is looking for, there is nothing but vegetation within her reach. She suspects others from her pack have become nocturnal and are gorging at night while she sleeps... There is evidence that they have eaten and have not called her to the feast. Once again, she tolerates the vegetation and hopes for the end of the bleakness. LOL!! Yes, Neal and Katie have been raiding the fridge! Neal does it while I'm in the shower, and Katie does it after I'm in bed. They have been really good sports about the whole Fast Track diet, tho. I can tell I have lost, and will be so glad to get weighed on Sat. AM!! I've taken a break from Spring cleaning, and got out my scralbooking stuff again. I'm having a lot of fun with that. Be good! Jana |
Hi All~
Jana~too funny! Good writing to. Okay, now you have me very curious about the WW Fast Track if you don't mind I would love the info also. I never was much of a fan of Frasier. DS used to watch it and I thought it was boring. I started watching it a few months ago and think it is so funny. It is reruns on FOX but I haven't seen them before so they are new to me. I don't know what station the new ones are on, or even the day or time. Have fub scrapbooking today!
Marti~be careful girly with those backpacks-they are murder on your back! :yikes: When I went last year at the beginning of the year there were a few girls that thought they would try the ones on wheels, found out soon enough it wasn't going to work because there were just too many people in the halls and the aisles in the classrooms were not wide enough. Maybe that's something you can try where you go. A lot of the teachers had them also. Shanna~sorry to hear about your babies. :( You are so right about our pets becoming our babies. Our little old dog is our baby. I am wanting to get another dog also, a small one. Hi Angie & Kayecee  I went to Wal-Mart this morning and wow-I really don't like shopping at the end of the month. The closer to the first it gets the crazier it gets at Wal-Mart. Nothing much going on with me, seems all I do now is pack and do laundry, laundry and pack... Hey, did I ever mention to you ladies about a possible Dr. Phil weight loss challenge in my area? Well, it kind of came about a few months ago and I didn't think it would ever happen but it looks like it is about to. We'll see...I hope so because I definitely think it will help. I know when I was attending WW meetings it totally helped. I do good on my own sometimes and then slip. So I am totally looking forward to this. If everyone agrees on a day and time looks like it will happen next week. I have GOT to get this under control. I don't know why in the winter time I never want to do anything, but I just can't wait around for the 'right' season to get started and motivated. :blah: :blah: :blah: Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday! Later... |
Hey girls! Just a quick post. I had to make an "appearance" after threatening Shanna! Gotta protect my territory. I don't feel too hot. I went to the dentist yesterday. I got a filling, a temporary crown, and a tooth surgically removed. *OUCH!* Not a fun time! (Although, after getting the gas, I do vaguely remember telling the dentist that I was on a beach in Hawaii with him and asked him to hold my hand. Then I told him I felt like I was visiting a House of Ill Repute- I was getting screwed and paying for the privilege! *sigh* Do y'all think he'll let me come back? I got a big enough mouth without all the gas making me a little less..... uh.... subtle.... Please, God, I hope I didn't grab his butt! ) Then I hit the codeine!!!! I was cranked up on high for a couple of hours- Mom laughed her butt off at me all the way home. I finally crashed and slept like a log around 10. Now I'm just drained. I'm gonna go and hit the sheets. (NOOOOO..... NOT WITH THE DENTIST! ) Night y'all!!!
|
Oh and Marti- sorry I missed you on MSN Monday night. I read your PM today but my brain hurts and I couldn't figure out how to reply..... even though I know I've done that!! :(
