Hi Meg,
Seems like it's just you and me in here lately..So how was your day? :) I just got home from work an hour ago, had my shower and supper is in the oven. I went to curves this morning before work, and I still have energy left.. maybe this is working :) I actually weighed less after work today than I did this morning... another good surprise... :) How does the low carb meatloaf taste? How do most of the recipes taste? Your class sounds like fun if you like to sew. Last weekend I made a giraffe out of clay pots. It turned out so cute I think I'll make another smaller one this weekend and have a family... they are to be displayed on the benches with the plants. Thought it would add to the charm...:) Well, see ya later. Dahlia |
Dahlia - your day sounds great! How many days this week have you been to Curves? I have been so busy that I haven't made it to the gym. That is just NO excuse. I need to get on it. It just slows my weight loss down if I don't get there.
The lowcarb meatloaf is good. I haven't had meatloaf in a long time, so to me it tastes the same. All my recipes are good that I have made. Things like chicken breasts stuffed with prosciutto and spinach. They are just naturally low carb. I am making omelettes with goat cheese and tomatoes and thyme, and this AMAZING waffle thing. The waffle is pretty high in carbs - but low in comparison to what it would be in a restaurant. It was REALLY good. My sewing class was great. We are making simple wrap skirts. I thought it would be nice to make a few, get a few sweater sets, and then wear them to my new job. I am hoping it turns out well! I got this black linen fabric with orange embroidered asian umbrellas on it. With black sweater and black heels I think it will look really sharp. My homework for next week is to pin the pattern to the fabric, and then we will cut it at the next session. Your giraffes sound ADORABLE! How many are you going to make? Were they hard to make? It sounds really fun. Just had some leftover meatloaf - good the second time. Getting ready to leave to pick up Dan from work. Then I may do a little sewing - have some curtains to make! Have a good night - I guess you and I will talk tomorrow! Meg |
Hi Meg and Dahlia :) glad to hear that you are both doing really well :D
Did'nt get online yesterday as i went on a shopping spree  I for one can really shop till I drop :lol3: I have'nt exercised since Saturday and i'm bummed about that because it really helps with the weightloss but my foot is so sore that i decided to give it a rest  i'm practically limping around here  So Meg, you are getting gas then are you? our woodstove is on the ground floor and the hot air is forced through vents in the floor we use this for economy purposes..i like gas too but its so expensive to heat this house, we have propane heat as well ;) and i can come home and just flick a switch to get instant heat if i want to but we try to keep that use to a minimum..we also have electric baseboards but unfortunately not on the middle floor. Its a pity hubby did'nt install solar panels on this house because we get sunshine from dawn till dusk when the weather is nice :flow1: we see the sun rise in the morning on one side of the house and set at night on the other side :) Wonder where everyone else has got to :?: i hate it when they disappear :( |
Good morning Meg, and Cathy nice to have you join our conversation. :) I guess as long as we have each other we can keep this conversation going, and the others can just join in as they can. :coffee: Just had my slim fast for breakfast, going in a little early to work, have to take mil her medications. She is losing it, not taking her meds cause she gets confused what they are for, and even though I put them in a daily pill pack she moves them around and puts cotton in some of the days, and says that she took her pills but they are still there.. so from now on one of us has to take them to her daily and make sure she takes them. I seem to have been elected to do this today.
Anyway I think maybe just maybe things are starting to move for me. I am down another pound this morning and my clothes feel looser. Perhaps all the muscle I have been building is finally going to start burning off some calories... hope hope hope..... anyway I feel good about it so hope it continues. Meg that material sounds really pretty, and I bet you'll look like a dream with that outfit. Your new job is that the real estate? I forget. :dizzy: Yes Cathy gas is expensive, we have natural gas which is a little better than propane money wise.We have a three story house so it takes a lot to heat it too. But in terms of cleanliness and just plain hard work it is a dream for us. Luckily I had 5 boys, as they helped with the wood chores when they were growing up, but now it's just the two of us.. anyway we just love the gas and would never go back...if we don't have to. Tell us what you did with Olivia and I bet she has grown since you last saw her. I am thinking about having Jade, my 3yr old granddaughter over again this Saturday, we have so much fun, and since I was sick last week, I may do it again.... next weekend I will have my 2 yr old grandson for the afternoon. It will be his turn. He is a handful. He gives terrible twos a new definition.. and he has been like this since before he was 1. So I'll get a good work out then. Oh my giraffes are adorable. They are easy to make, it only takes 2 clay pots, some glue, some wood dowels and a piece of foam and some paint. I'll make a couple, I also want to make a camel and maybe an elephant. I'll take some pictures and get them on here when they are all done. Ok well I suppose I better get moving. Will check in after work to see what you two are up to.. Have a great day. :) Dahlia |
Cat - wow - shopping spree sounds great! What all did you buy?
Dahlia - I am sorry to hear about your MIL. I take over 10 pills a day myself, and I know that I get confused. I have one of the pillboxes you mentioned, in an effort to get it straight. Once I just accepted that I had to take them I stopped being depressed about it. Does she have alzheimers? Well, just finished my tomato and goat cheese omelette, and now I am having coffee. I am really a mean omelette cooker now. I was having trouble folding them, but practice makes perfect! I have to jump in the shower, as this morning is when I volunteer to teach knitting. Then lunch with my folks, and then Oklahoma rehearsal. I am teaching the blocking to the song Oklahoma, so it is a big rehearsal. Yes, Dahlia - the new job is real estate. I am very excited. I could be starting in a couple of weeks. I thought I wasn't starting until this June. My brother called yesterday and said they want me to start part time in the next few weeks. That means a shopping spree for me!!! Hope you both have a great day! Meg |
Wow, Meg a shopping spree, you and Cathy are lucky... I went on a small one a short time ago with buying baby clothes, I have one of each new grandbabies coming so I went a little nuts in the baby department, then I also bought a couple outfits for the ones I already have... but I enjoyed every moment of it..
We don't know if mil has alziemers but we are beginning to suspect she may have the beginnings of it.. Scary part is she wants to get her car out now that the snow is gone.. and we don't want her to drive... she can't hear, she has hearing aids but refuses to wear them.. and she don't see that well, her eyes are always watering.. well hopefully now that I am making sure she takes her allergy meds that may improve.. but she if very stubborn and independent and we don't want to take that away from her but we don't want her to injure anyone either... including herself. What fun Meg to be starting a new job.. and sooner than you expected.. it's good to start slow with part time... by June you'll be an old pro..:) Ok, got to do payroll now then make supper. Will check in later. Dahlia |
Rehearsal went great - and so did knitting class. Only 2 of my girls showed today, so they got the royal treatment. Did bad for lunch - hot dog, but good for dinner - burger with no bun, and only a few fries. Side of broccoli.
Dan and I just got home. Going to get into my pjs and watch The Apprentice! Talk to you tomorrow... Meg |
Good morning Meg and Cathy and anyone who is reading but not posting. :nono: we want to hear from you toooooo. Just got back from Curves, my third time this week, it is working out great, I get up and am at Curves by 7:10 am at the latest and get back in plenty of time to go to work. I find I am having more energy at the end of the day.. the first week I was ready for bed by 8 pm but now I stay up till 10 and I feel good. I must also say, knock on wood, that since I have started at Curves my back has been doing tremendously well, and you guys know how much trouble it was giving me... :coffee:
It is going to be a good day. It has to be, it's friday...... tonight hubby and I go out for fish dinner and to get our groceries. It is our highlight of the week, pathetic aren't we. ;) Well, I'll check in before bedtime, to see how your day has been, so have a good one. Dahlia |
Dahlia your day sounds as exciting as mine  my highlight of the day is going shopping too  for groceries as well as other things.
Meg, we are having family over this summer so I was buying new sheets, duvets, crockery etc :?: not that we don't have them already but for some reason i always want everything to be brand new when I have visitors  Not able to exercise here :( foot is really painful so i've decided to rest it :coffee2: I walked 2mls yesterday and that was a mistake i should have just taken it easy. Being a couch potato and eating creme eggs in front of the tv is'nt any good for me tho' and i've gained 1.5lbs this week. I'll have to be good this coming week. |
Cathy - So sorry to hear about your foot! Sounds like your shopping spree was fun. I love buying stuff for the house.
I haven't exercised all week. I am upset, but have no one to blame but myself. Tonight I am going to my SIL's house to stamp. I am making cards for all the kids in the show. I have some stamps of cowboy boots, and a few others. I think it will be great. TAlk to you later! Meg |
Good morning,
:coffee: It is 7:30 am on Saturday and I am up, I have already swept and vacuumed my house and now will do some office work. I am spending the afternoon with my dgd (3) again. I like this routine, I look forward to my Saturday afternoons :). It is raining out today but it's 43 degrees. Tomorrow is suppose to get down to 28 for a high. So we have to enjoy today. I hope you all are having a good weekend, I'll be checking in later to see what you are up to. Dahlia |
I've been up since 2.15 Dahlia  i hate it when i can't sleep because i end up watching the hours go by :tired: hopefully this means i'll sleep tonight. Its a beautiful day here for the first day of Spring :flow1: and i'm in the mood to get lots of jobs done so once i get rid of hubby i'm going to do a major clean up and then clean out my kitchen cabinets and re-organise them :D then its outside i go to sand down some furniture that is a half finished project from last year  decided its time to finish everything once and for all
Meg, i hope the cards turn out well :) i'm sure you'll do a great job. Going to make some brekky  |
Cathy,
Sorry to hear about your night, I hear you, I've been there, and I know what you mean.Sounds like you had a lot planned to do today,, bet you were thinking about it all the while you couldn't sleep.. Ended up having my son's whole family over for lunch today then they left my dgd here for the rest of the afternoon.. we baked cookies and decorated them, watched some cartoons and played, then we went shopping and ended up at the Dairy Queen, she got a treat and I took one home for the rest of the family. Had a great day. :) It's getting cold out again and the wind is really blowing hard. Started making 2 more giraffes. Another big one and a smaller one. So I'll have a mommy, daddy and baby. Think I'll put a little bow on the small one :). Making a pot family also. Have to find a baby's bowtie for the daddy. You would think with all the boys I had I'd have one.. but I guess I didn't save any. Well, going to bed early tonight, dh is already snoring on the couch. Poor guy he really works to hard especially this time of the year. There is just so much to do. We are all busy. Will check in again in the morning till then. nighty night Dahlia |
Cathy - sorry to hear you didn't get a good night's sleep.
Went to my brother's house yesterday and he and my SIL were not really themselves. Ted and a friend drove to Milwaukee (from Chicago) to see the March Madness games. After the first game my brother's cell rang, with a message from the friend's boss saying to call home. He used my bro's phone to call home and the pediatrician answered the phone - then the phone cut out. They ran outside, and he called back. He said, "yes, I have a ride home, I won't drive - just tell me - just tellme". Then he fell to the ground crying. His 20 month old didn't wake up from his nap. My brother had to drive him home for over an hour. It was awful. My brother has a 20 month old, and he felt SOOO guilty. They were both really upset when I got there. The project helped get their mind off it, but my SIL was still upset. Today we had rehearsal, and it was exhausting. I couldn't get to sleep last night when I got home, so this afternoon I took a 3 hour nap. I just woke up, and now dan is asleep in bed! Silly, Dan! Can't wait to sleep in tomorrow!!! And, let's all take a moment to be happy for what we have, as life is so precious. I will talk to you tomorrow... Meg |
Oh Meg, so sorry to hear about your friend's child... what a devastating thing to happen. It's every parent's nightmare....give him our condolences...will say a prayer for them all.
It's a mini blizzard out again today, spring bah humbug... where? certainly not here. Going to church then to get a few items I need to work on my giraffes this afternoon. Staying in the rest of the day and working on my giraffes and watching tv. Hope you gals get some rest. A 3 hour nap, wow.. I snooze for 10 minutes on the chair I think I'm doing good..:) Later, Dahlia |
We have snow also - how funny! It was 65 yesterday....
Dahlia, have fun with the giraffes. I think I will finish the kitchen curtains today, and maybe do some laundry. Also, I have a low carb chicken recipe for dinner. Off to breaky with Dan, then he is off to a friends house to play guitar. He was on the phone with his friend and referred to me as "the wife". I totally laughed. I have NEVER heard him say anything like that before. Back up to 188. I have been bad, and now am paying for it. Am going to be good again starting today. I will rebound for 30 minutes, and maybe lift some weights at home. Have a great Sunday!!! Meg |
Meg, what is rebounding? You've mentioned it several times.... just curious.
Just home from church, eating a burritto salad, its minus the shell... yummmy the sun is trying to shine out, its cold and windy but not that bad as it was this morning. Going to putter now so will check in later... Hey Terry where are you and what are you up to.... haven't seen you post for a while. Dahlia |
Hi Meg and Dahlia ;)
Dahlia, i can't think why Terry is'nt posting :?: maybe i'll email her later and see what she's up to :) Meg, so sorry to hear about your friends baby :( that is just tragic  It may be snowing where you are but Spring has definitely sprung here :flow1: all the daffs are out and the trees are budding, the sun is shining and the finches have moved back :) I took hubby out shopping yesterday for new beds ;) he did'nt want to come but hey he invited his family and friends over to visit us so the least he can do is help me to carry them  so now all the spare bedrooms are set up and i can relax :coffee2: well, at least until they get here  |
Cathy - new bedrooms - wow. Very cool. You are all set for visitors - we don't have any extra room for visitors.
Today I don't work, and am taking the day off from CTW. Although I may guilt myself into going. I can't decide. Hope you guys have a great day! Meg |
Hi Meg and Cathy. How is your day going? Just home from work, had over 40 emails to go thru, only 3 were real ones.. the rest are spam... 28 on our business email.. I am so tired of it.. I have complained to our server serveral times they are suppose to be enacting a anti-spam program.. hope it gets up and running soon.
Well, it finally feels like spring. its 43 and sunny out, the wind is still quite chilly but it will change soon. The greenhouses are getting full and everything is so green and fresh and some buds and flowers are starting to pop out... looks so springy inside.. One more month of planting and then I'll be opening the retail center again. Time is flying by :) Have to go take my shower now and get supper started.. Will check in later before bed to see if anyone posts. Dahlia |
Hi Dahlia - sounds like you had a nice Spring day! Today I drove Dan to work, then went to Blommer's Chocolate outlet, and bought chocolate to make for my kids in the show. Then lunch with my sister, and off to the craft store. Then I dropped my sewing machine off to get it fixed, and then home to hang pictures in the kitchen. I tried to nap, but the phone kept ringing. Now I am watching some TRASHY movie about Madonna. Soon I need to pick up Dan.
Hope everyone had a great day, and has a great night! Talk to you two tomorrow! Meg |
Hi Ladies
Dahlia, is'nt that annoying :rollpin: i deleted 18 spam emails today and i think i got 5 legitimate ones :( they all say "Hi" or "re your website" or "thanks" i'm just sick to death of it because i'm sure they are the ones that contain that worm bagle virus. I just delete everything now unless its from someone i know. Oh Meg, how on earth did you resist that chocolate? :T you must have willpower or something :D I ate so much of the stuff over the weekend that i can't face any at the moment :p i hope this feeling stays with me  I've done pretty well today so far  hope i can survive the night  |
Oh, Cathy - I had plenty. I haven't started the project yet - cowboy hat suckers made out of chocolate. I will do it this weekend.
As for spam, I am lucky - I have Earthlink, which has a spamblocker built in. I get maybe 1 a week. The rest are automatically filtered out. Pretty cool, huh? |
Morning ladies,
Just got back from Curves and out the door in 5 for work, but wanted to check in. I got measured today, my body mass is down, I am plateauing with the weight. I keep juggling the about 4 pounds.. she agreed I need to shake my body up but right now I don't have any time to add anything, you'd think all the bending and walking at work would help... well it probably would if the treats were less, everyone keeps bringing in goodies for breaks and lunch.. have to get more will power or else ban them, but can't do that, not fair to the others... It's raining today but should reach 50 is a good day for working, as with the sun shining it gets to hot in the greenhouses,, a nice rainy day is a welcome one at least once a week. Check in after work, have a great day, and those cowboy hats suckers sound cute, I used to do that with chocolate... it's fun and rewarding... one Christmas I made 4 candy houses like gingerbread houses only out of colored chocolates for the boys classes... the kids didn't want to eat them they were so neat... but they did.:) OK..see ya later Dahlia |
Dahlia - even if you can stay where you are at, that is winning the war. I have fallen off the wagon pretty badly. Today I am trying to get back on. I can't wait until I start my Real Estate job, and quit the restaurant. Being around food all day is challenging.
As far as the treats go, when you see it, ask yourself if it is really worth it - and remind yourself how it would undermine your work on yourself. Maybe that will help. Well, kitchen is almost done. Dan is hanging last 2 pictures right now. He hung the 2nd set of curtains last night. My dad is coming over today to put in our under-cabinet lighting. I can't wait! The lighting is vital because of the hunter green paint. it is really dark in there. Well, I am going to try and stay OP today. I have sewing class tonight - pinned my pattern to my fabric, and tonight I think we cut them out and start sewing.... Dahlia and Cathy (and all you other lurkers) Have a great day! Meg |
Hi Meg and Dahlia
Well, i did email Terry and she is working every day at the shop and simply does'nt have the time to visit us at the moment  i'm sure she'll pop in sometime ;) I had a pretty good day yesterday :) well, good considering my standards as of late  and i got some good deals while out shopping this week ;) a pair of tan leather boots reduced from $60 to $19 :) resistance bands $3.50, ankle weights $5.50, and a weighted yoga bag $2.50 now i've got to use them! |
Hi Dahlia and Cathy!
I am SOOO excited. I picked up my sewing machine, and took it to class. I am the most advanced person there, as no one else has ever sewn before. She is actually having to teach people how to use their machine (NOT what the class is about). I tried on my skirt, and IT FITS!!!! Granted, it isn't done yet, but it is pretty far along. I bought more fabric, so I can make a second one. I am SOOO happy! My Dad finished the under-cabinet lighting, and it looks GREAT. It really has been a wonderful day. Talk to you two tomorrow! Meg |
Morning Cathy and Meg,
Looks like we have our own message board...:) oh well, that's cool. It's 55 here already, looks like we just may have a nice spring day. Meg that is great about your skirt. I have sewn in the past, used to make clothes for my kids when they were younger. But I get frustrated easily when things don't go right. I sold my sewing machine at a yard sale, I do have two older ones, inherited from family so once in a while I sew a pillow cover or something.. but I think it's neat that you are having such a great time with it. I wish I had more patience to do more. Well, I finished my giraffes last night, all but the eyelashes which I have to go to Wal-mart and get some. They look so cute... another project finished. We are moving right along at work. We are in our 9th greenhouse, we have 6 more to fill yet... it's slow but steady work. We handle every plant in our place at least twice. And believe me that is a lot of plants. We do over 10,000 flats alone that is over 483,000 plants, not to mention all the other size containers and pots and baskets...but hands don't come clean till August.... don't know why they call it a green thumb, when it's really a brown hand..LOL but it's neat to see everything growing. Ok. well gotta go talk to you later. Have a good one. Dahlia |
Dahlia - we are in the 60's today also! Spring has sprung!
Glad to hear you finished the giraffes. Are you going to sell any of them - or just use them to decorate? I wouldn't be suprised if you got offers when people come to buy plants. 9 greenhouses is alot of work. I can't imagine. Do you have a nice yard? I bet you do because you know what type of plant works in sun vs. shade, etc. I am jealous! Well, today I teach knitting, and then off to my sister's to help her organize her house. I think she thinks this is a one day task. We will really only be able to do her office today. I hope that doesn't get her down. I wish I could blow off knitting, but that really defeats the purpose of volunteer work  . Dan got home and loved the under-cabinet lighting. The kitchen looks so polished and put together. My Dad said he might even put some in my mom's kitchen. Alright, need to get going... Meg |
You two are so productive :D suppose i am too really :dunno: today i'm replacing floor tiles that have got chipped on the stairs  one of the hazards of having floor tiles i guess  the hard job is done, thats removing the old ones and chipping off all the grout and adhesive. Today i glue down the new ones and then grout them tomorrow..hopefully there'll be no more accidents for a bit. Then i might start varnishing some of the furniture thats half finished around here  i have a swivel captains chair downstairs that is supposed to be used for my computer..i should really finish that then i can sit in comfort this one has a metal back and gets uncomfortable after a while.
I had a really good day yesterday and i exercised for 30mins too :cp: 20mins bike and 10mins resistance bands. Just had pancakes for brekky and wondering what exercise to do today :chin: Meg, i can't believe that those women can't use a sewing machine  i learned that in school..i used to sew quite a lot when i was younger and can make clothes without using patterns..don't bother much nowadays unless i'm mending something or making curtains. Dahlia, :yikes: what a lot of plants i can't even imagine seeing all that lot. |
Cathy - I am so impressed with the floor tile replacement. It sounds like a HUGE job. How did it go?
I am puttering around the house today. I am trying to clean and de-clutter at the same time. Dan is at guitar right now. His day started out crummy, so I hope that it raised his spirits. I have gained about 4 pounds by eating carbs again. What a bummer. Just goes to show, that for ME, carbs are my downfall. Found some photos of when I was thin. Totally bummed me out. Meg |
Hi Meg and Dahlia,
Meg, Tile job went well :) it was'nt a huge job :nono: just a pain in the @$$ i put a big sheet of paper on the new tiles saying "KEEP OFF" and when i went to check on them the next morning hubby had stood on one on his way out and broke it right in half :rollpin: the first thing he said to me when he came home was "sorry about your tile" so that one is off again waiting to be replaced and the rest will be grouted today, did'nt do them yesterday because i was so annoyed that one had been broken! I'm back on my treadmill again :cp: and walked 3mls, 3mls and 2mls over the last 3 days :) not sure if i'll be doing any today or catching up on jobs. Been eating Pizza and chocolates over the weekend but i'll be back on program tomorrow. |
hi Meg and Cathy,
That would be so frustrating about that tile.... MEN.... what is with them? I hear ya.... This weekend has been so busy, son and his gf are home from college and we have been going out... Friday we went out to dinner with them, then for our groceries so was late,, last night we all went Moonlight bowling, there was 8 of us, it was fun but didn't get home till almost 2 am.. then I was up at 7 to go to church for early mass cause hubby's bro and wife came into town so we met them and his mom and his sister and her family at a local restaurant for lunch to celebrate his mom's 89th b/day which is tomorrow. I did good, just has a bowl of soup and a salad...then came home put laundry away and got into the Easter candy... :nono: oh well, I'll be good the rest of the week again.. I'll be at curves by 7 am tomorrow morning. I think I can feel a difference in my clothes, they are looser. So something is working even if the weight is going off slowly... I am building up muscles. Meg, you can sew yourself a whole new wardrobe, that would be neat. It is 70 degrees outside, so beautiful I bet we get a storm tonight. WE've missed them the last couple days.. anyway its gorgeous out, I was out on my deck for a short spell earlier...I love it... I know it won't last, it will be cold yet a while but have to really enjoy these days when we get them. Well, hope both are having a good weekend, Cathy, take a deep breath, punch hubby out and you'll feel better, then let him help with the tiles...why isn't he doing it in the first place? Dahlia |
Good morning, ladies. I am writing to you from my new laptop. I am trying to get used to it. It is so small!
Cathy, sorry about your tile issue. If that had happened to me, I probably would have made my husband finish the job. spent alot of the weekend watching movies - Mona Lisa Smile, School of Rock, Under the Tuscan Sun, etc. I also made alot of my cowboy had suckers. They are absolutely the CUTEST if I say so myself. Getting ready for work, and then I think I will come home and sew this afternoon. That, or finish my suckers. I think I have about 30 more to go. They don't take that long. Most of it is hardening time in the fridge. Hope you two have a great day - Dahlia is probably at Curves as I am writing this. Talk to you two later! Meg |
Hi Meg and Cathy,
No Meg I wasn't at Curves while you were writing this morning, I go at 7 am and am at work by 8...today went by fast, had a number of interruptions, phone calls etc. and lots of walking back and forth...which is a good thing. Breaks up the monotony of planting. Your suckers sound cute. Going to hit the shower just wanted to say hi... catch ya later. Dahlia |
Hi Meg and Dahlia,
Dahlia, you are an  going to Curves at that time of day :cp: Well Done! Walked another 3mls this morning :tread: :) its a beautiful day here too :cb: i  it as well ;) as for hubby doing tile :yikes: i want it to look good don't i? he is mechanically minded..that is his forte so i'll leave that to him and the homemaking stuff to me :D fixed that last remaining tile this morning and i've just been to hubbies workshop to take him lunch also gave him a stern warning to :coach: STAY OFF THE TILE! I think he's got the message ;) i'm gonna put a bucket on it later so if he is tempted to step on it he'll be putting his foot in that  Meg, 30 more suckers to go? how many can you do in one go? and how many have you got to make? :nose: a new laptop, lucky you :D Well, got to go and get something done so i'll see you all tomorrow. |
Cathy - I can make 5 at a time, and then they take about 20 minutes to harden in the fridge. It shouldn't take that long. I think I will finish them this weekend while I watch tv.
I did some sewing today on my skirt for class. I called the girl and she answered a question for me so I could continue, and I got alot done. And it looks nice if I do say so myself. Then I just cleaned up the house. Boring...but tomorrow lunch with a friend and shopping for clothes. Wednesday at 10am I meet with my boss to discuss when I will start! Well, time to get Dan. See ya! Meg |
Good morning Cathy and Meg,
Hey Meg when I made chocolate candies I cooled and set mine in the freezer, only took a few minutes and they were ready to pop out... just a suggestion...are you doing yours in different colors? they look so neat..:) The sun is shining already, they are calling for rain all week, but so far yesterday was beautiful and today has a good start. I take lunch to work for everybody once a week and today is the day.. we have a big lunch then we have a light supper, I am going down.. so it's not hurting anything... today's menu is homemade shredded bbq pork sandwiches, potato salad, pickles and fritos for those who want. Possibly a dessert if one of the other ladies brings it.. they mentioned it yesterday. It gives us a little change from ho hum lunches..:) Ok well gotta go finish getting ready for work.. and Cathy good job on the tile. I bet your hubby got the message loud and clear LOL putting a bucket there is a funny idea... one way or the other he'll get it if he kicks the bucket LOL See you tonight, have a good one Dahlia |
Dahlia - what fun with the lunches. I saw on Discovery Health a show where teachers did the same thing to lose weight. Then they walked the stairs at the school for exercise after work.
I have only used white and milk chocolate. At xmas they have green milk chocolate, and I have a mold for xmas tree pops, but I always forget to use it. It would be nice to put one on every gift - maybe this year I will remember. I will try speed setting them in the freezer. Thanks for the tip! Dan and I just walked to Starbucks. It is 60 out here in Chicago. Nice. It is a good day for me to go shopping - no rain. Last night Dan and I went for pizza, and pre-ordered our pizza, so we walked in, sat down, and they served us right away. The woman at the table next to us was visibly pissed as her pizza came 10 minutes later. All her kids were staring trying to figure out what had happened. Very funny! It takes a half hour, so we saved a bunch of time. I bought fabric for a second skirt, so when I get home I am going to start on it, trying to catch up to where I am on the first one. I want to make two so I really have a handle on my new sewing skills. I am like 4 steps ahead of the class. I must brag - I am pretty proud of myself! I might treat myself to a pair of pinking shears one of these days, and I think I need to get my scissors sharpened. Talk to you later! Meg |
Meg, that is funny about the pizza place.. they probably wondered who are you people that you get such fast service. :)
Congratulations on being so far ahead in class, that is nice. We are proud of you too. I just home from work. I am tired.. my hip is hurting, it has been bothering me lately, not sure what is wrong... but it don't hurt at Curves so that is good. I'll be going again in the morning. figure as long as I keep moving whatever it is will be ok... Lunch was good. Next week one of the gals is bringing in German potato salad, she is from Germany and it's soooo good. Well catcha later. Dahlia |
