Cathy - I am so impressed with the floor tile replacement. It sounds like a HUGE job. How did it go?

I am puttering around the house today. I am trying to clean and de-clutter at the same time. Dan is at guitar right now. His day started out crummy, so I hope that it raised his spirits.

I have gained about 4 pounds by eating carbs again. What a bummer. Just goes to show, that for ME, carbs are my downfall. Found some photos of when I was thin. Totally bummed me out.

Hi Meg and Dahlia,

Meg, Tile job went well :) it was'nt a huge job :nono: just a pain in the @$$ i put a big sheet of paper on the new tiles saying "KEEP OFF" and when i went to check on them the next morning hubby had stood on one on his way out and broke it right in half :rollpin: the first thing he said to me when he came home was "sorry about your tile" so that one is off again waiting to be replaced and the rest will be grouted today, did'nt do them yesterday because i was so annoyed that one had been broken!

I'm back on my treadmill again :cp: and walked 3mls, 3mls and 2mls over the last 3 days :) not sure if i'll be doing any today or catching up on jobs. Been eating Pizza and chocolates over the weekend but i'll be back on program tomorrow.

Dahlia 03-28-2004 05:14 PM

hi Meg and Cathy,

That would be so frustrating about that tile.... MEN.... what is with them? I hear ya....

This weekend has been so busy, son and his gf are home from college and we have been going out... Friday we went out to dinner with them, then for our groceries so was late,, last night we all went Moonlight bowling, there was 8 of us, it was fun but didn't get home till almost 2 am.. then I was up at 7 to go to church for early mass cause hubby's bro and wife came into town so we met them and his mom and his sister and her family at a local restaurant for lunch to celebrate his mom's 89th b/day which is tomorrow. I did good, just has a bowl of soup and a salad...then came home put laundry away and got into the Easter candy... :nono: oh well, I'll be good the rest of the week again.. I'll be at curves by 7 am tomorrow morning. I think I can feel a difference in my clothes, they are looser. So something is working even if the weight is going off slowly... I am building up muscles.

Meg, you can sew yourself a whole new wardrobe, that would be neat.

It is 70 degrees outside, so beautiful I bet we get a storm tonight. WE've missed them the last couple days.. anyway its gorgeous out, I was out on my deck for a short spell earlier...I love it... I know it won't last, it will be cold yet a while but have to really enjoy these days when we get them.

Well, hope both are having a good weekend, Cathy, take a deep breath, punch hubby out and you'll feel better, then let him help with the tiles...why isn't he doing it in the first place?

Good morning, ladies. I am writing to you from my new laptop. I am trying to get used to it. It is so small!

Cathy, sorry about your tile issue. If that had happened to me, I probably would have made my husband finish the job.

spent alot of the weekend watching movies - Mona Lisa Smile, School of Rock, Under the Tuscan Sun, etc. I also made alot of my cowboy had suckers. They are absolutely the CUTEST if I say so myself.

Getting ready for work, and then I think I will come home and sew this afternoon. That, or finish my suckers. I think I have about 30 more to go. They don't take that long. Most of it is hardening time in the fridge.

Hope you two have a great day - Dahlia is probably at Curves as I am writing this.

Talk to you two later!
Meg

Dahlia 03-29-2004 04:31 PM

Hi Meg and Cathy,
No Meg I wasn't at Curves while you were writing this morning, I go at 7 am and am at work by 8...today went by fast, had a number of interruptions, phone calls etc. and lots of walking back and forth...which is a good thing. Breaks up the monotony of planting.

Your suckers sound cute. Going to hit the shower just wanted to say hi... catch ya later.

Hi Meg and Dahlia,

Dahlia, you are an  going to Curves at that time of day :cp: Well Done!
Walked another 3mls this morning :tread: :) its a beautiful day here too :cb: i  it as well ;) as for hubby doing tile :yikes: i want it to look good don't i? he is mechanically minded..that is his forte so i'll leave that to him and the homemaking stuff to me :D fixed that last remaining tile this morning and i've just been to hubbies workshop to take him lunch also gave him a stern warning to :coach: STAY OFF THE TILE! I think he's got the message ;) i'm gonna put a bucket on it later so if he is tempted to step on it he'll be putting his foot in that

Meg, 30 more suckers to go? how many can you do in one go? and how many have you got to make? :nose: a new laptop, lucky you :D

Well, got to go and get something done so i'll see you all tomorrow.

Meigg 03-29-2004 08:43 PM

Cathy - I can make 5 at a time, and then they take about 20 minutes to harden in the fridge. It shouldn't take that long. I think I will finish them this weekend while I watch tv.

I did some sewing today on my skirt for class. I called the girl and she answered a question for me so I could continue, and I got alot done. And it looks nice if I do say so myself.

Then I just cleaned up the house. Boring...but tomorrow lunch with a friend and shopping for clothes. Wednesday at 10am I meet with my boss to discuss when I will start!

Well, time to get Dan. See ya!

Good morning Cathy and Meg,
Hey Meg when I made chocolate candies I cooled and set mine in the freezer, only took a few minutes and they were ready to pop out... just a suggestion...are you doing yours in different colors? they look so neat..:)

The sun is shining already, they are calling for rain all week, but so far yesterday was beautiful and today has a good start. I take lunch to work for everybody once a week and today is the day.. we have a big lunch then we have a light supper, I am going down.. so it's not hurting anything... today's menu is homemade shredded bbq pork sandwiches, potato salad, pickles and fritos for those who want. Possibly a dessert if one of the other ladies brings it.. they mentioned it yesterday. It gives us a little change from ho hum lunches..:)

Ok well gotta go finish getting ready for work.. and Cathy good job on the tile. I bet your hubby got the message loud and clear LOL putting a bucket there is a funny idea... one way or the other he'll get it if he kicks the bucket LOL

See you tonight, have a good one

Dahlia - what fun with the lunches. I saw on Discovery Health a show where teachers did the same thing to lose weight. Then they walked the stairs at the school for exercise after work.

I have only used white and milk chocolate. At xmas they have green milk chocolate, and I have a mold for xmas tree pops, but I always forget to use it. It would be nice to put one on every gift - maybe this year I will remember. I will try speed setting them in the freezer. Thanks for the tip!

Dan and I just walked to Starbucks. It is 60 out here in Chicago. Nice. It is a good day for me to go shopping - no rain.

Last night Dan and I went for pizza, and pre-ordered our pizza, so we walked in, sat down, and they served us right away. The woman at the table next to us was visibly pissed as her pizza came 10 minutes later. All her kids were staring trying to figure out what had happened. Very funny! It takes a half hour, so we saved a bunch of time.

I bought fabric for a second skirt, so when I get home I am going to start on it, trying to catch up to where I am on the first one. I want to make two so I really have a handle on my new sewing skills. I am like 4 steps ahead of the class. I must brag - I am pretty proud of myself! I might treat myself to a pair of pinking shears one of these days, and I think I need to get my scissors sharpened.

Talk to you later!
Meg

Dahlia 03-30-2004 05:11 PM

Meg, that is funny about the pizza place.. they probably wondered who are you people that you get such fast service. :)

Congratulations on being so far ahead in class, that is nice. We are proud of you too.

I just home from work. I am tired.. my hip is hurting, it has been bothering me lately, not sure what is wrong... but it don't hurt at Curves so that is good. I'll be going again in the morning. figure as long as I keep moving whatever it is will be ok...

Lunch was good. Next week one of the gals is bringing in German potato salad, she is from Germany and it's soooo good.

Well catcha later.

Dahlia

Hi Meg and Dahlia,

Meg, GREEN milk chocolate :p now that would definitely get me to give it up

I walked another 3mls this morning :cb: had a good day yesterday and i'm on track for another today, that scale better be good to me this friday  i bought myself 2 pairs of leather sandals at the mall :D :sssh: i won't tell hubby tho' i'm having fish and chips for tea :T looking forward to it.

Meigg 03-31-2004 02:16 PM

Cathy - good for you for staying OP!

I met with my boss this morning, and he wants me to go to a bunch of new home developments and pretend to be a buyer. I have about 10 to hit by MOnday. Very fun!

I just pinned my skirt pattern to new fabric I bought. Time to start the second skirt. Cleaned up the house in no time. I need to get back to cleaning up as the mess happened, so I don't have to spend 1/2 hour tidying up.

Bought some great dinner items at Trader Joe's last night. For dinner we had baked brie, and stuffed salmon fillets. The salmon fillets were only $3 each. I couldn't believe it. And they were yummy, so I am going to get them again.

Well, I am going to go cut out my skirt. Talk to you later!

Dahlia 03-31-2004 04:40 PM

Hi Meg and Cathy,
Just home from work, going to hit the shower but checking email and here first. WE got our new machine at curves, its for the sides,, its a totally new movement so should help with the love handles... :)

Is really cold today, sunny but the wind is from the north.

Green milk chocolate tastes just like the regular, all the colors pretty much do... they are just neat being colored.... and you would love them too, Cathy...:)

Meg, I would love to go look at a bunch of new houses,,,, how lucky you are. And you are really getting into this sewing.. that is just so cool.

Have a good evening and talk to you both later.
Dahlia

cat90 03-31-2004 08:20 PM

Dahlia, i don't like food dyes :p i hate them and if all chocolate was coloured green or blue or yellow then i would never touch another piece

Just bought myself a new keyboard and trying to get the 'feel' for it :) the other one had a few sticky keys and i was sick of hitting it :rollpin: this one only cost $10 so i thought what the heck i'll buy one. I am so on a roll that i can't believe it :cb: i always seem to do so much better at this time of year, anyone else feel like that? my fish, chips and peas dinner is on and smells great :T can't wait to tuck in ;)
