We have snow also - how funny! It was 65 yesterday....

Dahlia, have fun with the giraffes. I think I will finish the kitchen curtains today, and maybe do some laundry. Also, I have a low carb chicken recipe for dinner.

Off to breaky with Dan, then he is off to a friends house to play guitar. He was on the phone with his friend and referred to me as "the wife". I totally laughed. I have NEVER heard him say anything like that before.

Back up to 188. I have been bad, and now am paying for it. Am going to be good again starting today. I will rebound for 30 minutes, and maybe lift some weights at home.

Have a great Sunday!!!

Meg

Dahlia 03-21-2004 01:21 PM

Meg, what is rebounding? You've mentioned it several times.... just curious.
Just home from church, eating a burritto salad, its minus the shell... yummmy
the sun is trying to shine out, its cold and windy but not that bad as it was this morning. Going to putter now so will check in later...

Hey Terry where are you and what are you up to.... haven't seen you post for a while.

Hi Meg and Dahlia ;)

Dahlia, i can't think why Terry is'nt posting :?: maybe i'll email her later and see what she's up to :)

Meg, so sorry to hear about your friends baby :( that is just tragic

It may be snowing where you are but Spring has definitely sprung here :flow1: all the daffs are out and the trees are budding, the sun is shining and the finches have moved back :)

I took hubby out shopping yesterday for new beds ;) he did'nt want to come but hey he invited his family and friends over to visit us so the least he can do is help me to carry them  so now all the spare bedrooms are set up and i can relax :coffee2: well, at least until they get here

Meigg 03-23-2004 11:11 AM

Cathy - new bedrooms - wow. Very cool. You are all set for visitors - we don't have any extra room for visitors.

Today I don't work, and am taking the day off from CTW. Although I may guilt myself into going. I can't decide.

Hope you guys have a great day!
Meg

Dahlia 03-23-2004 04:49 PM

Hi Meg and Cathy. How is your day going? Just home from work, had over 40 emails to go thru, only 3 were real ones.. the rest are spam... 28 on our business email.. I am so tired of it.. I have complained to our server serveral times they are suppose to be enacting a anti-spam program.. hope it gets up and running soon.

Well, it finally feels like spring. its 43 and sunny out, the wind is still quite chilly but it will change soon. The greenhouses are getting full and everything is so green and fresh and some buds and flowers are starting to pop out... looks so springy inside..
One more month of planting and then I'll be opening the retail center again. Time is flying by :)

Have to go take my shower now and get supper started.. Will check in later before bed to see if anyone posts.

Hi Dahlia - sounds like you had a nice Spring day! Today I drove Dan to work, then went to Blommer's Chocolate outlet, and bought chocolate to make for my kids in the show. Then lunch with my sister, and off to the craft store. Then I dropped my sewing machine off to get it fixed, and then home to hang pictures in the kitchen. I tried to nap, but the phone kept ringing. Now I am watching some TRASHY movie about Madonna. Soon I need to pick up Dan.

Hope everyone had a great day, and has a great night!

Talk to you two tomorrow!
Meg

Hi Ladies

Dahlia, is'nt that annoying :rollpin: i deleted 18 spam emails today and i think i got 5 legitimate ones :( they all say "Hi" or "re your website" or "thanks" i'm just sick to death of it because i'm sure they are the ones that contain that worm bagle virus. I just delete everything now unless its from someone i know.

Oh Meg, how on earth did you resist that chocolate? :T you must have willpower or something :D I ate so much of the stuff over the weekend that i can't face any at the moment :p i hope this feeling stays with me

I've done pretty well today so far  hope i can survive the night

Meigg 03-23-2004 09:43 PM

Oh, Cathy - I had plenty. I haven't started the project yet - cowboy hat suckers made out of chocolate. I will do it this weekend.

As for spam, I am lucky - I have Earthlink, which has a spamblocker built in. I get maybe 1 a week. The rest are automatically filtered out. Pretty cool, huh?

Morning ladies,
Just got back from Curves and out the door in 5 for work, but wanted to check in. I got measured today, my body mass is down, I am plateauing with the weight. I keep juggling the about 4 pounds.. she agreed I need to shake my body up but right now I don't have any time to add anything, you'd think all the bending and walking at work would help... well it probably would if the treats were less, everyone keeps bringing in goodies for breaks and lunch.. have to get more will power or else ban them, but can't do that, not fair to the others...

It's raining today but should reach 50 is a good day for working, as with the sun shining it gets to hot in the greenhouses,, a nice rainy day is a welcome one at least once a week.

Check in after work, have a great day, and those cowboy hats suckers sound cute, I used to do that with chocolate... it's fun and rewarding... one Christmas I made 4 candy houses like gingerbread houses only out of colored chocolates for the boys classes... the kids didn't want to eat them they were so neat... but they did.:)

OK..see ya later

Dahlia - even if you can stay where you are at, that is winning the war. I have fallen off the wagon pretty badly. Today I am trying to get back on. I can't wait until I start my Real Estate job, and quit the restaurant. Being around food all day is challenging.

As far as the treats go, when you see it, ask yourself if it is really worth it - and remind yourself how it would undermine your work on yourself. Maybe that will help.

Well, kitchen is almost done. Dan is hanging last 2 pictures right now. He hung the 2nd set of curtains last night. My dad is coming over today to put in our under-cabinet lighting. I can't wait! The lighting is vital because of the hunter green paint. it is really dark in there.

Well, I am going to try and stay OP today. I have sewing class tonight - pinned my pattern to my fabric, and tonight I think we cut them out and start sewing....

Dahlia and Cathy (and all you other lurkers) Have a great day!

Meg

Hi Meg and Dahlia

Well, i did email Terry and she is working every day at the shop and simply does'nt have the time to visit us at the moment  i'm sure she'll pop in sometime ;)

I had a pretty good day yesterday :) well, good considering my standards as of late  and i got some good deals while out shopping this week ;) a pair of tan leather boots reduced from $60 to $19 :) resistance bands $3.50, ankle weights $5.50, and a weighted yoga bag $2.50 now i've got to use them!

Meigg 03-24-2004 09:07 PM

Hi Dahlia and Cathy!

I am SOOO excited. I picked up my sewing machine, and took it to class. I am the most advanced person there, as no one else has ever sewn before. She is actually having to teach people how to use their machine (NOT what the class is about). I tried on my skirt, and IT FITS!!!! Granted, it isn't done yet, but it is pretty far along. I bought more fabric, so I can make a second one. I am SOOO happy!

My Dad finished the under-cabinet lighting, and it looks GREAT. It really has been a wonderful day.

Talk to you two tomorrow!
Meg

Dahlia 03-25-2004 07:37 AM

Morning Cathy and Meg,
Looks like we have our own message board...:) oh well, that's cool. It's 55 here already, looks like we just may have a nice spring day. Meg that is great about your skirt. I have sewn in the past, used to make clothes for my kids when they were younger. But I get frustrated easily when things don't go right. I sold my sewing machine at a yard sale, I do have two older ones, inherited from family so once in a while I sew a pillow cover or something.. but I think it's neat that you are having such a great time with it. I wish I had more patience to do more.

Well, I finished my giraffes last night, all but the eyelashes which I have to go to Wal-mart and get some. They look so cute... another project finished.

We are moving right along at work. We are in our 9th greenhouse, we have 6 more to fill yet... it's slow but steady work. We handle every plant in our place at least twice. And believe me that is a lot of plants. We do over 10,000 flats alone that is over 483,000 plants, not to mention all the other size containers and pots and baskets...but hands don't come clean till August.... don't know why they call it a green thumb, when it's really a brown hand..LOL but it's neat to see everything growing.

Ok. well gotta go talk to you later. Have a good one.

Dahlia

Meigg 03-25-2004 09:54 AM

Dahlia - we are in the 60's today also! Spring has sprung!

Glad to hear you finished the giraffes. Are you going to sell any of them - or just use them to decorate? I wouldn't be suprised if you got offers when people come to buy plants.

9 greenhouses is alot of work. I can't imagine. Do you have a nice yard? I bet you do because you know what type of plant works in sun vs. shade, etc. I am jealous!

Well, today I teach knitting, and then off to my sister's to help her organize her house. I think she thinks this is a one day task. We will really only be able to do her office today. I hope that doesn't get her down. I wish I could blow off knitting, but that really defeats the purpose of volunteer work  .

Dan got home and loved the under-cabinet lighting. The kitchen looks so polished and put together. My Dad said he might even put some in my mom's kitchen.

Alright, need to get going...

Meg

cat90 03-25-2004 01:16 PM

You two are so productive :D suppose i am too really :dunno: today i'm replacing floor tiles that have got chipped on the stairs  one of the hazards of having floor tiles i guess  the hard job is done, thats removing the old ones and chipping off all the grout and adhesive. Today i glue down the new ones and then grout them tomorrow..hopefully there'll be no more accidents for a bit. Then i might start varnishing some of the furniture thats half finished around here  i have a swivel captains chair downstairs that is supposed to be used for my computer..i should really finish that then i can sit in comfort this one has a metal back and gets uncomfortable after a while.

I had a really good day yesterday and i exercised for 30mins too :cp: 20mins bike and 10mins resistance bands. Just had pancakes for brekky and wondering what exercise to do today :chin:

Meg, i can't believe that those women can't use a sewing machine  i learned that in school..i used to sew quite a lot when i was younger and can make clothes without using patterns..don't bother much nowadays unless i'm mending something or making curtains.

Dahlia, :yikes: what a lot of plants i can't even imagine seeing all that lot.
