Hey ladies~

Awfully quiet around here today.

Angie~I too want to see a picture of your new hair color! You know there was a time I wanted to dye my hair pink-yes I said pink. Do you ladies know of Pink the singer? If so do you remember when her hair was pink? I LOVED it! It was such a pretty color. Of course I never did-didn't have the nerve. Oh, and yes I look so forward to decorating. I am wanting a red room. I thought DH would :faint: when I said that but he thinks it will look good. It is not actually red, but more of a brick red, kind of a deep brownish red. Brandon wanting a blue room made me think of a house we looked at that had a dark navy bedroom-it was a kids room and even though it was dark it actually looked good. In the dining room they had a dark brownish/orange color on half the wall and then a deep hunter green in the living room. It sounds like it would be kind of icky sounding but it really looked nice together. It was just enough color to make it look good-very nice.

Marti~a forked tongue?! I was watching a program once they were showing tatoos and such. Has anyone seen this guy who is trying to make himself look like a lizard? I believe-or was it a snake? Aaahhhhh, I can't remember. But I do remember if being tattooed over most of his body and changing his face and his tongue was split-on purpose! OUCH! The only thing I want pierced are my ears. Even though I think a nose ring, (a small diamond) and a belly button ring looks cool. I would never do it though-too chicken. I did get a tattoo and that hurt. WTG on your walking-I know you will get there.

Jana~how was your day with your sis? Hope you guys had a lot of fun.

Kayecee, Shanna, Alyra and everyone else hope you ladies are doing fine.

We went and signed papers for a loan on the house this morning so it is a go, well it will be Monday. That's about all I have or had going on today, other than the normal doing a load or two of laundry and cleaning a little on the house.

Hope EVERYONE has a great weekend. TTFN :)

SqueakMouse 01-10-2004 08:37 PM

Hello to all the Jaded ladies. I never know what to talk about, so I guess I am going to ramble for awhile and make comments on what people wrote. I hope everyone is doing well today.
My stomach is soooo sore today from the workout I gave it the other day. It hurts to go to the bathroom even. Which is not fun since I am drinking more water lately and I have to go more often. Oh the trauma of trying to lose weight. I am sure we all have horror stories. My boyfriend is constantly making fun of me when I am sore after working out and I moan and try to go to the bathroom. It is either my legs or stomach that hurt and sitting or getting or moving is agony. I am such a baby!!! ;-)

Marti: I thought I knew about your ex, but a forked tongue??? I just can't understand the piercing, branding or slicing of the body parts thing. As you know, I had my tongue pierced for about a year and a half, but it wasn't permanent. Of course I have six tattoos that are but I don't get the other stuff. Did he do that forked tongue thing after you guys broke up??
Cristi: I too saw that program on T.V. That showed that lizard man. He was tooo creepy. I was scared and think there is something wrong with his mental capabilities. eewww ;-P I also dyed my hair weird colors in the summer during my highschool years. Much to the horror of my mother. They were not permanent, but crayola colors freaked her out. I am now a normal, blond weaved color, but never again natural. ;-) I also look forward to hearing about your decorating. I love to do that!!! I think I should have gone to school for that instead of picking dental assisting. Oh well, in my own time will do fine. Congratulations on you house purchase. I was in the process of buying a house when we were laid off from Sony. What bad timing that was and disappointing for sure. Maybe I will get close again some day.

Well, it has now been one week since starting my new weight loss program with my biddy marti. I have gone 9 miles, only 2941 left to go ( I am thinking I may never get there) and I have 140 hours left. This is certainly a daunting task. I am also following a weight watchers plan and drinking lots of water. I guess I better buy a scale so I can know if I am losing any weight. However, even without a scale I am going to try and not give up. Wish me luck!!!!! :-)
Anywho, I am running out of things to talk about and I am starting to ramble on and on with a purpose. I better go for now and get my master dinner started.

Hello to everyone

Kayecee 01-11-2004 10:23 AM

Morning Y'all!

How are all you ladies doing this fine morning? (Now if you're thinking that I'm in a good mood- think again- I stayed up until 1:30 playing nickel poker at my BIL's- got up at 7:30- now I'm on a coffee high! :hyper: ) LOL I was able to hang on to my 5 bucks, but, alas, my DH was wiped out. (The bum even borrowed 4 bucks from me and lost that too! :o ) Now I'm telling him that I'm his sugar momma!

Angie- I'm glad that you're feeling better! Why did you have such a hard time posting after the crash? Did they have to reset your account or something? I noticed on one message that they said something about that. I knew it wasn't like you to go so long without posting. :D Tell your friend to come on over. The more the merrier. :goodvibes on the job opp. And I'm with everyone else- I gotta see the hair. Pictures. Pictures.

Jana- Hope you had a good time with sis. 19 rooms?!? Dang!!! Gotta post pics of that! BTW I was just teasing about Bob Dillon! ;)

Cristi- We need to see the house too! I'm like Marti- I wanna see pictures! I'm shocked! You didn't get a Milli-Vanilla t-shirt?!? :?: Hey babe- I was on front row of two concerts for that one. Can you still get leggings where you live?!? I can't find them anywhere around here and I love them. I may have to come shopping with you!

Shanna- Congrats on the 9 miles! You'll be at your destination before you know it! As for the scales, if your budget is tight- I told the other girls that I go to my doctor's office and the nurse lets me go to the back and weigh my own self.

Marti- Where are you girl? I saw your thread and wanna check up on you. Are you feeling better? Hope so.

Alyra- Hey girl! How's the house hunting? Did you get the one you showed us? How is everything in Australia? Let us know what's going on with you. I was really glad to see you back. I didn't know if you were going to post again.

Well, I gotta go. My mom and niece are going with us after church to eat pizza then we're all going to get Vallory's ears pierced. :cb: :cb: She is sooo excited. I can't wait either.

O.k. gotta share! As I was typing that last part.... a high pitched scream comes from the bathroom..... it was DH.... it was his turn to watch Vallory while she was taking her bath... she's at the age where bathroom noises and such are sooo funny... apparently she was pooting in the water and giggling hysterically but unfortunately she pooted too hard on the last one.....    he's having a hissy-fit..... I informed him that since it was his job to watch her and clean up all her towels and such afterwards that this falls into his territory.... HE IS NOT HAPPY!

FrouFrou 01-11-2004 01:19 PM

Too funny Kayecee!  I can just see your DH in the bathroom saying "Eeeeeew, gross!  Sorry, no I didn't get a Milli Vanilli t-shirt, but I did like their music that has to count for something right?! :D Glad to hear you had a fun time playing poker. My parents used to do that, like twice a month. Only it always ended in a fight which I hated, especially if my mother won. I always thought it was supposed to be for fun. Have fun today getting Vallory's ears pierced. Just don't let her see the gun they do it with.

Marti~hope you are feeling better today. :grouphug:

Shanna~WTG on your 9 miles! Woohoo :dancer:

Alyra, Angie, Jana and everyone else hope you ladies are fine.

Well, I guess we got too excited about the house after all. I should have known something would happen. :( We found out last night that someone else had put an offer on the house at the asking price. Which is fine but I thought because we put an offer in first and had the right to counter-which we did and at the asking price because it was a good price and they had recently dropped it. Little did we know (don't know if this is something new or a KS thing-KS has some weird/stupid laws when it comes to buying a house) that because it is a bank owned house they basically can do what they want-which they are taking both offers and the highest bidder gets it. We are not prepared to offer anymore than the listing price so unless the other people decide to drop it-which we doubt because it is a very good price-we lost it before we even had it. :( Sorry to go on about that. So you can tell how my day is going. Anywho, I am going to try and get something done today.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful Sunday! :)

Alyra 01-11-2004 01:42 PM

*yawns* 5am and I still not have gone to bed yet.
I'm not having the best days. We're waiting on a reply from the landlord of the house we want to rent - I am not highly optimistic, but whenever we are waiting for something like this, it seems to put my life on hold and I find myself very unmotiviated - like I am waiting for the next stepping stone before I will do anything!

A new week awaits, i guess. Ringing the land agent today. The landlord's had our applciation 5 days, surely that's long enough to make a decision and let us get on with our lives either way!

Cristi - sorry you didn't get the house!

Everyone else - thanks for making me feel welcome. It's a lovely group here :)

Jane 01-11-2004 03:10 PM

Hiya Ladies,

Kayecee - I am so glad to know that you really do know who Bob Dillion is! You had me worried! How did the ear piercing go? What I am really interested in is the horse - did she get dinner and a movie first???? LOL!!!

Marti - hope your Sunday is a good one!

Jodi - good luck finding a house to rent. Yes, you'd think a week would be long enough for them to figure out what they want to do!

Shanna - hope you aren't as sore today. Maybe try some warm up exercises first next time.....

Cristi - well, if you are supposed to get the house, you will. Try to look at it that way, okay? Yes, I know who Pink is, since I have a teen in the house. Btw, Katie is her real name, although my sister who she is named after has the name Kathryn.

Angie - did you do it? Purple and orange hair?? I'm dying to see a pic!

Hi to anyone I may have missed.

Well, I had a blast with my sister in Indy. Her son's house was gorgeous! I DID get lost, trying to find where I had left my coat! Then she and I shopped, and I got everything I needed to do the playroom in Target's "Flowers, etc. " pattern. Then Neal and I did the work in there yesterday. It rocks! Katie says to ask you guys if you upload your pictures to this web site. Then she will help me show you what the room looks like.

I have not done well with staying OP. As a matter of fact, I am so Off-P it is ridiculous! I truly think I need to see a therapist to see what my problem is! Dr. Phil would tell me I'm getting a payoff for staying so fat, but other than enjoying yummy food, I truly don't know what it is!

Didn't mean to talk so long. Have a good Sunday!
Jana

PS. Wasn't Milli Vanilli the 2 guys who lip-synced their way out of a grammy?!?

Marti 01-11-2004 03:37 PM

Hello everyone--

The sun is peaking through my window!! Love that sun!!:sunny: Too bad it won't stick around!!

Jana--Yes,,, Milli Vanilli are the two who lip synced their songs. But I liked the songs too... who cares who actually sang it! But I don't think I would want a t-shirt. (sorry Kayecee)
About posting pictures...as you can see... I have no idea how to upload to this site...so I use the Yahoo photo album. It's free.. and you can put a lot photos in there then just post the site. I'm looking forward to seeing the room!! How fun it must have been to decorate!

Cristi--Sorry to hear about the house...like Jana said...you'll get it if you were meant to. Who knows, if you don't get this,,, there may be a more "perfect" house than that one. And you'll wonder why you ever made an offer to the other! I hope you get one soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.:crossed:

Jodi--Another peson having problems with the house hunting! I'm sorry it's taking them so long. Could you possibly make a phone call and see what's holding them up? That way if you have to you can start searching for another one.

Kayecee--  Poor DH... but you did say it was his turn for bath time!! And I bet your dd was laughing hysterically about that too! That age is soo fun. You did say dd was 3 or 4 didn't you? I loved every age Jhanai has been through so far!! I just hope when she get's to her teens she doesn't turn into her father!!!( But I honestly don't think I have to worry)

Shanna-- Yep, the idiot, I mean Thom, got his tongue forked. He did that a couple years ago, so that was way after we split. And the weird thing is,,, he goes to Jhanai first before he does anything and they talk about it and if she doesn't want him to do it... he doesn't. He always goes through her first. They have a GREAT relationship. I remember when you had your tongue peirced. I had mine done for about a year too... before James and I got together. I also had my ears stretched... size of a pencil eraser. (yeah I know...what!?) More of a freak than you thought eh? Hee-hee

Well today is a good day. James and I are planning on doing some house work. Yep.. James helps. Great guy.....did I ever mention how great he is??:D I should get off the computer....I want to clean up and then get some excercises in.

Hi to Angie...still waiting to see pictures of your hair!! Oh yeah... it was funny but I thought of you yesterday... we passed a bright orange house that had a purple door!! I had to laugh and wonder what in the world were they thinking...then I thought of you!! Orange & Purple...... I just have to see it!! I bet you'll look cute... it probably matches your personality!

Take Care
Marti

BTW Kayecee---have fun with getting Vallory's ears peirced. That's going to be fun. I had Jhanai's peirced when she was 3mos. old. So cute. Then she had them peirced again when she was 4!! Her dad took her to an actual peircing shop (go figure) and she had to sign the papers herself. So she did. And boy was she proud.

da fat n da furious 01-11-2004 08:23 PM

Well I am so glad yesterday has passed. I have had 2 saturadays off since I started working in Oct. And what happens? We have anear death exerience. If any of you watched the news about Washington state you would know of their horrible ice storm...well we were hit with it and we were not perpared. We left for Sylvan and was like 1/2 hr away on a back road when we saw a car upside down. Made sure no one was inside and hurt and kept going,,,got maybe a 100 yards and going arounda a huge bend when we started sliding into oncoming traffic... missed a car by maybe 3 inches. And then landed in the ditch. and within 30 seconds a big tanker flew by...yay I was freaking. A wonderful guy stopped and had to literally pull us throu a farmers field onto a side road. Meanwhile my cousin was struggling to try and just get out of her house...she called to apolgize for not coming,,,like I would want her to endanger herself. So I didn't get my hair done,,,didn't get my eye dr appointment and didn't visit with my old safeway friends...came home once the weather warmed up.
Plus I kinda a did a relapse thing and felt horrible,,,and have lost my voice completely. (the boys love that...grrr) House is half clean right now,,,decorations are done,,,I have got 2 boxes of normal decorations downstairs and to be honest I don't want to bring them up. I have got so much little trinkets its scary. I could open my own store with all my stuff.
Well I should make some neocitron and head for bed.
night all
Angie
ps Cristi I sure hope things do go your way....

FrouFrou 01-12-2004 03:57 PM

Happy Monday Ladies~

Geez, Angie, I am so glad to hear you guys are alright. That would scare the daylights out of me. I definitely believe in angels and you guys had one with you. I hate driving on icy roads because no matter what they teach you I think on ice all those little rules/guidelines whatever go out the window when you start sliding. Scary stuff and I ma glad you guys are fine. I hope you get better soon and get your voice back.

Marti~James is definitely a keeper ;) My dh is good also if I ask him to help out. But I never do because he works hard enough and I feel guilty asking him to do anything around the house. However, I do have pictures of him vacuumimg and cleaning...he's a sweetie.

Kayecee~how did yesterday go with Vallory's ear piercing? I had my dd's ears pierced when she was 4 months old because I figured she would do it someday anyway so why not do it when it would be easier to care for her ears, and she couldn't really mess with them, so I did. I know some people feel different about letting their DD have their ears pierced. My brother wouldn't let his girls do it till they were 16.

Jana~your room sounds so pretty. I love the color pink and flowers, lots of flowers. As far as uploading the pictures to this site I don't either. But then I use a scanner and then I put them on yahoo.com like Marti. You can have photo albums and the best part is it is free. I am trying to figure out this new set-up. I had the old one figured out and then we bought a new computer that has the new Windows (Office) XP and it is a little different from what we had but I am getting the hang of it. I am working on how to resize the pictures. So hopefully soon I will get some new photo's up and put the link back up to my album.

About the house-thank you ladies. Also, that is the attitude I am taking Jana, if it was meant to be then we will get it. I also believe there is a reason for everything so whatever happens happens.

Okay, I need to run to the store, DD has been waiting for a few minutes. Hi to everyone else. Hope you all are having a fun Monday! TTFN :)

Kayecee 01-12-2004 09:26 PM

Just a quick post. Today has been mad. First of all, are we back to the new forum again? Is that what caused the crash in the first place? Or was it just a fluke that they both occured around the same time?

Vallory got her ears pierced! YAY! She was such a brave girl. No tears- although I thought for a few minutes that there was going to be a river. You could tell that it hurt a lot more than she expected. But she's so good. She's one of those who doesn't even cry when she gets a shot. (Thank god!) And she looks soooooo adorable.

I have to get off here. I think I need at least 8 more hours in my day! :( But I do want to say that I am so glad that you and your family are o.k. Angie! You must have been terrified. I'm glad that you had a good samaritan. Gotta share this one real quick- when I traveled with a gospel group, we had a flat one night. Miles from home, wee hours of the morning with nothing open, little money, and no spare. We were sitting in this parking lot wondering what to do when this black cop turns his car around and checks on us. He says his mother's car is sitting in his garage and she died the year before, so he goes and gets a tire off of it and helps the men put it on our vehicle. The group leader made sure he looked at the officer's name and the town's name that was posted on his police cruiser because as soon as he got to the bank the next day, he was going to send him money to pay for the tire. The cop even follows us out of his jurisdiction to make sure the tire was o.k. The next day, Jeff (the group leader) gets the money and calls that town's police station. He explains the situation to them and says that he wants to know if he can mail the money to the precinct. Do you want to know what the officer's reply was............. Not only did they not have a cop by that name, there wasn't one black officer on their force!!!!! (insert Twilight Zone theme here) I still think about that night at least once a month. So if you wonder whether or not I believe in angels..... Now my short post has turned into a long one. Night girls.

Marti 01-12-2004 10:56 PM

Hello gals--

Angie-- OMG :fr: ...I'm so glad you and your family are ok!! What an experience to go through. The weather is crazy!! Not something you want to have all year round. But for some reason.. I thought it was heading South, not North! I hope it will pass soon for you all.

Cristi--Any luck with yet with the house? I'm hoping for you!! Oh, I just received your card in the mail today! Thank you so much!! It really brightened my day! :flow1:

Kayecee-- You definately met with an angel that night! What a wonderful thing to experience! I just love hearing stories from people who experience things like that! Anyone else have a great story like that to share?

Shanna-- Saw the recipe. And it looks good. :T I'm going to have to try it when Jhanai is over for the weekend. She and James both love soup. Especially in this cold weather we're having.

Jana-- Are you having any luck getting those photos posted??

Well today was pretty good I guess. I don't particularly like my math class, but only because it feels like I'm back in grade school. But I guess if I knew math really well (like I used to!) I wouldn't be in that class, now would I? I have this one woman in a few of my classes (she also worked at Sony) and we were sitting during one of the lectures and she was asking me if I understood some of the problems we had for homework. I told her that I haven't actually started it yet. Then she looked at me and asked me why was I so calm about it all. She feels frustrated already! I just told her that if I were to start panicking and worrying about it all, that I wouldn't do so well in my classes. Panic just makes things worse IMO.

I'm ready to get a job instead of going to school though...but unfortunately I have to bring my skills up to date to do that. I've been thinking of places to try and look for the summer.....not much out there. I need to start in a place that will hire someone new to this kind of work. Part time would be great.

Have any of you browsed around and looked at some of the progress pictures? I was doing that earlier and man oh man...there are some great losers on this site!! The atkins forum has a few and the girls look fabulous. I'm hoping to update my photos by spring. And hopefully I will be in better shape than I am now.

Wow... looks like I'm just babbling along... :blah: :blah: so I guess I should actually take a look at some of this homework that she's so worried about. I hope it's simple and I can help her out later.

Talk to you all tomorrow.
Marti

Jane 01-13-2004 08:14 AM

Hiya ladies,

Marti - thanks for the yahoo info. I will check it out... Neal helps me in the house, too, when he is on vacation or anytime I need help. Seems like all of us Jaded Ladies have real sweeties, don't we?

Angie - so glad you and your family are okay! What a nightmare! Hope you are feeling better today and have your voice back.

Cristi - I also have Windows XP - is there something I should know about downloading pics? Don't you just love the "go back to a previous date" function of Windows XP? It has saved my butt more than once!

Kayecee - aww, I bet Vallory looks so cute! Your story about the cop gave me the willies! I have had some weird stuff happen too! Maybe we can swap ghost stories at the pajama party, okay?

For some reason, when I tried to get on here yesterday morning, it said it wouldn't be back up until this morning! So I didn't even try to come back til now!

The twins are coming over to play afterwhile. They are both loving the playroom, and especially the "tent" I fixed for them. It's a card table that I hot-glued some fun fabric all around, with a flap for them to get in and out. They like to hide in there, lol. The top is paint to match the room, and it's really cute!

Then later I have to go get my hair trimmed and dyed. BROWN, not orange and purple, lol!! Neal calls me a Suicide Brunette - "dyed by hand" lol! What a wise guy!

Have a good Tuesday!
Jana

da fat n da furious 01-13-2004 10:08 AM

Oh Come Jana take a chance...I bet you would look quite fetching in orange and purple hair...lol
And now tell me a kid that doesn't like tents? I used to bring in chairs and set a tent up for Brandon and make him snacks and he could play for hours...
Marti you are so right, nothing good comes of panicing. (except when its your child and (fill in blank here)) Im pretty cool in a crisis. Except when Brandon cracked open his head,,,talk about wigging out. And when Tanner needed emergency surgery...I was no cool cucumber then either.
Kaycee,,,,I am a firm believer in Angels too, I know that a second either way would have been fatal and yet we slipped throu. Ya know you need to send your story in too Woman's World. Good for Vallory! Tanner got his ear done a couple of years back we took him to a tattoo parlour....lol The guy who had done it had so many tattoos and piercings...yaaaaouchh! I met him while I was getting a tattoo...he was a really nice guy. Anyways Tanner has a 14 gauge sleeper. No gun,,,just a huge needle...*shudder
Well I better get to work,,,
We have dress rehearsal tonight...got Tanner's makeup case all set. Never thought I would ever say that...hmmmm just don't seem right....lol
Angie

Marti 01-13-2004 01:47 PM

I just had to pop in quickly before I go to school.

Angie--That is how my daughter had her ears pierced. You would think a 4yr old would scream at something being done like that! But she didn't and she had both ears done with a needle.

Her dad wanted her to have body rings rather than the normal loops...not as easy to lose. (she was constently pulling out the little loops when she was a baby)

Ok ladies....I will be back tonight. I've gotta finish getting ready (yeah... I'm finally taking showers again!)Only one class today!! Hurray!!

Until tonight then

Marti

Marti 01-13-2004 08:28 PM

Hello my friends..... :grouphug:

Today was a beautiful day! Spring like weather...just didn't stay long enough. I'm wondering just how much rain we'll actually get this year....and I sure hope the summer isn't going to be **bleep**!! :dizzy:

After reading Kayecee's experience I thought I would share one of mine, or actaully my daughters however you want to look at it.
About 6 yrs ago when my daughter was 3, my ex's brother was reported missing. He had visited all his friends and family then disappeared. After two weeks he was found at the bottom of a 200ft. cliff. Apparently he drove himself off. (but there are some things that tend to look differently...we don't know)

Well, this devestated my daughter. He was one of her favorite Uncles. So her dad explained to her the best way he could explain to a three year old, how to remember him. He told her to close her eyes and look through her family album. He told her to remember all the fun times they had together, make a memory picture and to stick them in her "album" and she did! She would close her eyes from time to time and say "Poppy (her name for him) I have another picture to add!" (It was so sweet)

Almost two weeks after his memorial, I was outside pushing Jhanai on her swingset. (I used to push her for hours -literally!)And she was just having a grand old time laughing and giggling! Then our dog we had just started barking and I thought maybe we had company..but no one was around. Then he started growling in Jhanai's direction. I was mad because he never acted that way around her..they were buddies. That's when I looked at Jhanai. She was so quiet but she was smiling from ear to ear and had her eyes closed ( I had stopped pushing so she was just sitting in her swing)...then she started laughing and talking saying "yes...I am...ok... I love you too" Then she popped her eyes open and said "Momma... I have more pictures to add to my album!" I looked at her (the hair on my arms were standing a mile high!) and said "you do?" And she replied "yes, I just saw Uncle Matt, and he's ok and said he loves me"

Well.... that did it.. I took her off the swing set and bolted to the house. (We lived in my in-laws yard in a trailor) I ran inside and told my mother in law everything that happened and she smiled and said "I'm glad someone got to find out how he's doing" It totally freaked me out....she was only three, so it wasn't like she was putting me on or anything. I get goose bumps to this day thinking about it. And the funny thing....was as soon as Jhanai opened her eyes... our dog was back to normal and bouncing around like he always did. Isn't that bizarre? I just know her Uncle came back to make her feel better.

Wow... that was longer than I thought! But I had to share that. I always feel she will be protected. I've asked her if she remembers any of that and she says only a little bit. I'll have that memory forever.

Well ladies...since I took up so much space... I think I will go for now. I will probably check in later before I go to bed.

Take Care
Marti
