Hi All!!
I know I said I wasn't going to be able to post this morning but I decided to have my official WI in today since I'm going to be busy all day and my eating may be off (I need some flex points!)

so here it is.... 138.5!!!!!! 2.5 lbs loss!!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw that!! I am out of the 140's!!!! Whoo-Hoo! I'll update my signature later. Gotta scoot!!

Chubba 01-09-2004 11:22 AM

Congrats Spryng :cb: :bravo:

You're doing a terrific job!! Do you WI by yourself or do you go somewhere to WI? What kid of scale do you have? I bought one a few years ago that cost me around $50 thinking it would be accurate, but you never get the same number on it when you step on it (piece of crap :()

Candy, keep up the good work on the mono diet. I don't think I could do it :p but then again, I don't have the pain that you do or the want to have another baby :D . Two's enough for me!! What kind of scale did you just get? You mentioned it a bit ago but those posts are gone now.

Suzi, Andrea, Ricci, Ginny (I know your 'puter's donw) and anyone else out there... come join us!! It's been awhile since we've heard from some of you.

Dinner tonight is a WW Spicy Turkey-Bean Chili recipe that I'll post in a little bit. It's yummy! If you don't like spicy, leave out the cayenne pepper and jalapeno's. It's only 3 pts per serving and can be made with ground round also. Dh loves it! He'll eat anything that'll make him sweat.

Have a great day everyone!!

Spicy Turkey-Bean Chili

1 Tbsp olive oil
1 pound ground skinless turkey breast (or ground round)
3 green bell peppers, seeded and diced
4 onions, chopped
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp ground cumin
2 Tsp dried oregano
½ tsp cayenne pepper
3 bay leaves
One 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
Two 15-oz cans black beans
One 15-oz can fat-free refried beans
One 4-oz can diced green chiles
One 4-oz can sliced jalapeno peppers

In a large nonstick saucepan or Dutch oven, heat the oil. Add the turkey, bell peppers, onions, garlic, cumin, oregano, cayenne and bay leaves; cook, stirring as needed, until the turkey is browned and the vegetables are softened, 6-8 minutes.

Add the tomatoes, the beans, chiles and jalapenos; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, stirring as needed, until the flavors are well blended, about 45 minutes. Discard the bay leaves.

12 servings, 3 pts each

Hi everyone!

This has been a crazy wk for me. With the site crashing and me and dh trying to get things ready for him to leave Mon, I have not had time to post.
Geri, the chilli sounds great! I will have to try it.:)
Candy, you are doing great!! I know you will make it!;) I told myself I would not have another baby until I get my weight down, so I think that is why it seems to be easier this time, I have good motivation:D
Spryng, you are doing great!:D I can't wait until I hit in the 130's! How did you're shopping go? Did you get anything?
Well, I guess I'd better get off here... MIL is coming over in the morning, and I have to get my house "perfect".:(
Hi to Ginny, Suzi and anyone else I missed!

TTYL!:)

spryng 01-09-2004 11:42 PM

Good evening all!
I have had the most wonderful day!!! Yes, I did buy some great stuff. The mall we went to is an outlet mall so everything there is on sale all the time!! I found the most beautiful dress for me for 10 bucks!!! It was 80% off!! Then I got my dd some clothes and both my sons some clothes, and some odds and ends. It was tons of fun. I had great complany too. Which I haven't had in a long time. :) So all in all it was a fantastic day! I'm also babysitting dh's neice and little cousin and the kids are thrilled to have someone to play with. It's a sleepover. Tomorrow they want to do karoake, lol.
Geri, that chili does sound good. Every great now and then I get a wanting for some good chili and cornbread or crackers. And yes I weigh in at home and my scale is a 25 dollar one from Walmart. But it reads the same as the one at my doctors office so that is nice. Don't you hate weighing in at home and then seeing another number when you go to the doctor?? It seems to be pretty accurate. I don't know the brand of it. I'll post it tomorrow.
Andrea, I hope you got your house how you like it for your MIL visit and I hope you have a nice visit. I need to get busy on my house too... but it will have to wait until tomorrow.
Well... I am so tired. Shoped till I about dropped... maybe I earned an AP or two. lol. I will talk to you all tomorrow!!

Hi! It's me again. :) Just wanted to let you know that I am wearing my size 8 jeans and they are fitting great!!!! I just can't believe I'm almost there!!!! 8.5 lbs to go. Seems surreal to me. But just wanted to post my good news!!! I'm on could 9 right now, lol. I hope everyone has a great saturday!!!

candybar74 01-10-2004 10:22 AM

Hey all!!!

Andrea, hope everything goes well with getting the DH off. I know things must be hectic now.

Geri, my scale is a digital scale, the cheapest one that Walmart had, $18. I weighed at my office on the dr scale and at the time was 168.5 and then came right home and weighed on it and it said 169 so it seems to be very accurate. Spryng, I completely agree with you about seeing different #'s. That is how my old scale was. I would weigh and think, yeah I lost and then get to the office only to realize I had gained!!! So, had to buy a new scale! Anyhows, Geri, chili did sound good and my DH is also all about HOT so I'm sure he would love it.

Spryng, congrats on being in the 130's!!! I am soooooo jealous. I was all thrilled because I am down to 155!!! Which by the way, I am down to 155!!! I have lost 9 lbs so far! Anyhows, glad to you had fun shopping. Sounds like you found some really good deals. I am still on restriction but I do need a juicer because I can't have pastuerized juice and that is all you can find in the stores and I would like to have some juice every now and then! So, I might buy just that one last thing. Anyone have one they love?

Well, today is day 6 of mono-diet. Believe it or not, I feel like I could do it for another week! Wednesday was hump day, hit the wall day or anything else you want to call it and I thought I would go crazy but since then I've been fine. I found a couple dressings that I really love and have started experimenting and found that a few oriental things I really love are raw! So I am in the process of making Kim-chee now and I have some mung bean sprouts marinating in the fridge with sesame oil and soy sauce. Yum!!!

Spryng, what it the date you started when you were at 164? Our beginning and end are the same but I am 3 inches taller than you and I am really just going to play it by ear once I hit 140. I may find that I am comfortable there but I was 125 when I got married and would like to be closer to that than to the 140 I was after I got married. We'll see.

Well, today we have someone coming to look at our property to give us a bid on clearing it. So, it may be soon that I say, "We've broken ground!" Is that the right phrase? Better check w/DH on that!!! :)

Gonna go! Hope you all are well. TTYL!

candybar74 01-10-2004 10:24 AM

Wow, that was a long post. Kinda got away from me! Sorry!!!

A&A's Mom 01-10-2004 01:08 PM

Well, I just have time for a short note... I'm down 3.5 lbs. this week. I weighed this morning and I'm at 164!!! Not too bad going from 170 to 164 in 2 wks!! Me , Dh, and a couple that are our good friends are flying to Little Rock this afternoon and going out to eat. Dh hasn't flown much since Christmas and needs to get some practice in before his training Mon. So we are off for an exciting day! My friend hasn't flown in a small plane before, so this is going to be interesting! I will post back later on tonight.
TTYL!

Good afternoon all!

What a fun day! Went to Walmart and picked up a few things (lots of diapers, wipes, etc ... fun stuff you know?) Hey mommies, Will is showing no signs of wanting to go on the potty. He won't be 3 until May 3 but how do you know and how do you start??? Dh needs to take him in the bathroom with him more often. Will thinks he should sit and us toilet paper when he pees. :p Dh is way to private about some things. I told him Will is going to go like a girl if he doesn't start letting him in soon

The chili is excellent, BUT don't use the hot refried beans ... what was I thinking??? I have to put some sour cream in before I can eat it so that makes it 4 pts per serving for me. It makes a huge pot so a serving is probably close to 1 1/2 cups. And it's very filling. Had some more for lunch today.
Also finally bought sleds for Will today. We have a pretty good size hill for little kids in our front yard. He had a blast!! He's taking a nap right now. I'm surprised I even got him in the house. Should have looked for a scale while at Walmart ... didn't even think of it :D

Andrea, I've never flown in a small plane either...sounds like fun. Congrats on the WI also!!

Spryng, I'll never be a size 8 so I'm jealous!! I'm big boned and for me to be an 8 I would look like an anorexic!! I would really settle for a 16. Dh came across our honeymoon pics recently ... bummer. Only 3 years ago and what a difference .. of course that was also 2 kids ago:p

Candy, I think "breaking ground" is the right phrase ... how exciting! I remember looking at the plans and thought it was nice. Can you link us again when you get a chance? I'd like to take another peek.

OK, guess I had better get going here. Just wanted to say hi to you all and wish you a good OP day. This is my high points day ... since I'm not one of you "little" ladies:lol: that means 43 pts for me on the Wendie plan today ..... 43 points ... can you imagine???? I may save a couple for tomorrow. The Packers are in the playoffs so we may be munching and tomorrow's supposed to be a low pt day.

All right ... I'm going. BYE.

Gonna start a new thread...

ECmom 01-10-2004 09:05 PM

Well, I am back......and so is my computer. I had to take it out to a repair company- and the whole operating system had to be reloaded........how lovely! And I just installed a brandy new version of McAfee, so Ds can't catch a virus again, or should I say the computer.

No time tonite to respond or really even read the posts. But I will add an answer to Geri's question about boys and potty training. Have you tried any of the number of great books for kids on the topic???? Then, with all 3 of mine, I noticed that they were holding a clean diaper for much longer- and waking up dry and clean. Sort of a dead giveaway that it was time. I had 2 that gave up diapers at under 2 1/2, one that did it at a wee bit over 3. My fastest to train was Ds......go figure. Anyway, you can take all sorts of clues from them- and then plan on spending a week when you will not go too many places. For Will, it would be great to sell to him the concept of a hot summer with just undies- and then pick out some "big boy pants" with characters (Scooby Doo, Mickey Mouse.......whatever is his fancy) for the big event.

Guess I have babbled enough.......hope that everyone is having a great weekend!!! Sorry I did not get personal.
Ginny
