Donna that is a wonderful rewarding system. Some parents don't take too well when their children are moved around in the class like that but it's always benefited my kids. When brett was in Kindergarten, it wasn't anything unusual to put him in the hall to do his work. It wasn't because he misbehaved cause he was the best acting child in the class but he was always bothered by who was on the computer or whatever center he was interested in going to when he finished his work. It worked brilliantly too. You certainly have something to be proud of with both elena and your dad and share your gloatedness. There are parents in this world who give up on their kids too easily. I hear that all the time especially with laken's friends. I'm the only parent who has taken to learning braille and with the other kids, the vision teacher has to write the print above the braille for homework. I think that is unfair to the children myself and I couldn't imagine it any other way. Now I am the only family member who has learned it and I feel special cause I can communicate with laken via braille in the future when she "writes" things on her own and no one else can translate them.

Summer I am terribly sorry for what you and jim had to go through yesterday just to know you have to do it again. It wasn't no ones fault that they couldn't do the test but it was the medical teams fault for not giving him enough to clean him out. Do they give pills for that? I remember my grandmother and dad having to drink some kind of mixture. Maybe it's easier now. My mom is going to have the one done over the summer where they actually put you to sleep for it. It's new in our area. It will be her first one. She's 53 and it's recommended for her now. I got my SB book yesterday and was surprised to find the fake mashed potatoes recipe in it. I told DH to make it for me. He's better at new recipes. I'm not eating no carbs by any means. I have to keep my sugar elevated. I am just watching them really more close than in the past and since starting it, I"ve lost 10.5 pounds so something is working for me. Just hope I can stay "careful" for a long time to keep losing. I probably eat about 50 carbs at most and I was eating about 250. I haven't followed the phase 1 to a tee yet but even on that you're allowed veggies which have carbs. I'm trying to keep away from breads, pastas and taters.

Rosey did you finally get rid of all that snow? Did you ever get started on ebay? I have some cards to finish today so i can put some more on. i only do them in sets of 5 and I take a picture of them all laid in a group. I want to be able to offer someday where they can tell me what ocassions to put together but for now, it's whatever I"ve made and I hardly have any right now. What did you get for mother's day? I dont' recall you telling us but then again, what do I remember?

Daphne I will comment to you on the other thread. I will mention to the others here that you were upset when you posted yesterday and that your DH didn't get you anything for mother's day cause "you weren't his mother". I actually treasure what my kids make me at school more than any gift that can be bought and I"ve always made that clear to DH but that's just my feelings. I'm happy with my plants too.

Hi everyone..being lazy today..im so sore from the exercise..its like i have cement in my joints and it hurts to move..i know this is good for me..but gee whiz when will it stop hurting ..donna.. thats so great about elanas grades..im proud for you and her.. my dd use a reward system with the grandkids using jars and marbles..when they do something good or extra chores they get so many marbles to put in their jar.. when its full they get a speacial treat..when they do something wrong they get marbles taken away..it works really well for them..and the dd says they do things without being asked to fill their jar..anyways arent kids grand most of the time dana.. i havent been working on cards lately..but beading.. finished the necklaces yesterday and the lady came to get them..she was so pleased.. shes 81 and they are for to put her hearing aids in when shes on the phone..the neacklaces are like a little purse..today am getting stuff together for my dd garage sale..she made almost 1,000 $ last weekend and wants to do it this weekend so im adding some of my junk of which i have alot of ..summer sorry about jims tests.. did he have to drink that gallon of go litely stuff..actually it should be called go lotly anyways can understand his frustration..hows the exercise going??wtg to all the loosers.. we all deserve a for our efforts im so proud of all of us..hello to daphnee..kris and mr ken..will check in later((((((hugs))))))rosey

I am not Jim's mother either but he takes Elena out shopping and she picks out the card as well as the gift so it's all her idea just that she doesn't pay for it yet. But with the money she is making, she WILL buy her Daddy's Father's Day gift. (she doesn't know it yet! hee hee) I wonder how Daphne did on her yard sale.

Its another hot one today.. I cant get over the temps this week.. 90's
I swear its like August now.. They say it will cool down this weekend..
I hope so.. We may have a small cook-out this weekend.. Not sure yet.
I am trying to get out of here and run some errands and go tanning.. So much to do.. I didnt go to class last night. I went and did the treadmill for 20 min. Thats all I could do and did a few weights.. The class is just to hard on my knees right now.. I figure that doing something is better than nothing..

Donna.. I dont blame you for being so proud of Elena..She has really done great.. I can imagine how excited she is about getting good grades..I think the reward system is a good thing for children.. It helps them in many ways..You are such a great Mom in everyway..

You are right about the blood thinner making it longer to heal..
I hope that he doesnt have to stay on that for along time.. My Jim takes a asprin a day.. Our Dr said that you get just as much benifit from asprin as a blood thinner and less dangerous..Have your Jim talk to the Dr about that..
Blood thinners are dangerous if taken for long periods of time..I guess all Drs have different oppinions about thigns..
My Jim is so tired of Dr.'s also.. He wasnt going to have the second colonoscopy but I talked him into it... I want him to have a clean reading..
They put him to sleep everytime.. and now you take 20 pills instead of that awful stuff to drink..I cannot take those pills. They are the biggest pills I have ever seen and Jim says they taste very salty.. I would prefer the liquid to that..He has to take 40 pills this time.. Unreal... on the marbles Good One..LOL LOL..

You are like me doing this diet.. I am eating fruit and not eating pasta and rice and potatoed.. I miss those things..so on the weekends I eat some of them..Thats way I dont feel so deprived and stick to it better..

We had talked about this cookie last year or before.. It has a funny name..as I recall a lady made these cookies.. They come in many flavors and I think they are expensive.....as I recall when I checked on them before.. I have not seen them in the Grocery store and I thought they were suppose to be there??.. I just cant seem to recall the name of them....
As I recall they were to help with appitite controll too?? I think it was like a breakfast cookie..Not sure though...
I am sure that someone here might remember them..

Summer, I bet you were so excited about picking up your pool passes!!! That is great! I am so excited that this Summer will be much better for you and Jim. I wish that we could just get by with taking an aspirin but you don't probably remember that he has that mechanical valve and he has to make sure the blood level is just right so that no bacteria can form or clotting around that valve. Simply taking aspirin isn't enough. The strength he would need would end up eating up his stomach. So, he is on the blood thinner medication for the rest of his life. His blood level is checked once a month too and actually last time it was checked it was too thick!!! Anyway, bless his heart he is stuck with cardiologists for the rest of his life on a monthly basis! I am just so thankful there was something that could be done for him. I would not have him with me today if it wasn't for that St. Jude Valve.
I need to catch up on my duties here at my own house today. I have been over at my Dad's house for the last TWO days packing. It's getting more and more depressing because I'm finding more and more things that I GAVE to my Stepmother and it didn't mean as much to her as she let on to me when she received it. Although I have not come across the bracelet yet that I gave her last Christmas... It's probably in a drawer that we haven't gotten to yet.

OK I am here sorry for not posting sooner. The cookies I think are called bakers cookies. They are like close to 2 dollars a cookie and one cookie is 2 servings. I have a store here that sells them cheaper though. My garage sale together all of us made around 1300. That does include the 300 jason made for his boat. I think Jason and I made around 325 not counting the boat. So we did the best you could say. I had clothing real cheap so mine sold. One lady was selling shirts for like 3 dollars and they had stains on them. I looked at it what would I pay for this and be happy?
Rosey did you take a picture of the necklaces? I would love to see what they look like. I hope you make a lot at the sale this weekend. What about selling cards at the garage sale?

Summer I am so sorry about the test mix up. Por DH having to start all over again. How is his weight loss going anyhow? I would of wanted to jump into that pool as well!
Oh the day of our sale it rained and rained and rained. The next day it was rainy as well. Maybe not as rainy but still a lot of rain. We also had thunder showers during the sale. The high priced lady kind of got bossy and took over the sale. My neighbor and I had the sale set up looking nice and then he SIL comes buy with and get this I kid you not.... 3 full truck beds full and 2 vans full of stuff. She then was moving stuff around and then.... she was tired so she tried to tell us where to put her crap. I finally just left in frustration.
She then see some TV trays that I had for sale for 3 dollars. Says she wants them and will pay tomorrow. She tells my hubby later that she owes him 3 dollars for them and he said thats OK just take them. He then goes and wants a board that she had for sale. 10 dollars for one or 15 for 2. That lil Bi*** charged him the 10 dollars. I found that out later and I was PI****. I mean she should have given him the board at the lower price at the very least. Oh and to top it off??? We had a chair for sale that was a neighbors for 20 dollars. She said she wanted it for her Son. We said fine and put a sold sign on it. So then come Saturday morning? Her hubby tells her no that her Son doesn't need it. I was fuming then. So we lost a sale there on it. We gave it to my neighbors Dad so it was cool but was that not totally rude?
Oh I love what the kids made me for Mothers Day don't get me wrong. I was hurt that if the schools had not made a thing then I would have had nothing. I work my butt off for his kids and I hhonestly felt totally Disrespected. It still hurts me that he thinks so little of me. My marriage is in trouble over other things and at times i don't know if I want to be married to him anymore. I am here for now being as Megan needs me and I needs his financial support for now. I think I love him but right now my wound is just to sore.

I am tired.. I had to take my neighbor to work and pick her up after I went to the gym tonight..She has a brand new Akia..Not sure if I spelled that right but It would not start.. My Hubby knew what it was when I told him..Seems she had the steering wheel locked up.. After we picked her up he got it started with no prob.. She said I guess it needed a mans touch..
She is almost 80..and really gets around good.. She is a retired nurse and works part time in a nursing home..She likes to keep busy...

You are right Donna.. I am sorry that I did forget that Your Jim has to stay on blood thinners for his heart valve.. I didnt remember that he had to stay on it for life.. I am sorry..He has been through alot and still has to keep a close watch on his valve.. You also have been through it with him..

Yes I am so happy too that they were able to help him.. I know how you feel there..I can relate in everyway.. My Jim has to see the Cardiolgist every year..and take a tread mill test..Its always a worry that things are alright.
They have come so far in things to help with heart surgery and meds and all of that..Thank The Good Lord for that...Yes we are looking forward to the pool this year..We really missed seeing everyone last year and the pool..We cant wait for opening day....I really like the new pool passes..They took my suggestion from the year before and put them on one of those bracelet spirel thingys...We will use them now from year to year.. No More cards to worry about losing every year..

Summer I have to say congrats on the 14 pounds! My dear sweet sister I am reinspired for get my butt moving. I am so proud of Jim for losing 16 ponds as well! Give him my for doing so wonderful on the weightloss. I can not belive you are having suck great weather! It was sunny today but like 68* is all. The same is forcast for tomorrow. I didn't have trouble getting on to the site today for a change. I also learned that how my comp would freeze with the pop up add? I come to the site and then leave before the add can come up. After that I am here scott free!I had to figure a way to beat the system.
Donna I forgot to tell you how sorry I am about your step mom not taking your gifts. I hope that they were saved so she can get them later on if she chooses to. When I left my ex I didn't take anything that he or his familyhad given me. Now I wish that I had because the stuff was mine and I did like it.
