Raining again this morning. I need to do laundry.
The hospital has called to set up the stress test which will be on April 2. I'm anxious to get the test and find out the results.
Good Afternoon! We have had several gloomy, rainy, foggy, and/or windy days in a row. Where, oh where is the sun? On our trip to Sioux City a week ago, I bought new bath towels at Penneys. They were Fieldcrest, a brand from years gone by and I assumed would be worth the money. They were so thick the bath towel was still damp the next morning, the wash cloth was wet enough it felt like it had just been used, and the hand towel never did dry out either. I bought two sets and decided to call to see if I could return them. I could if I had the receipt which I did. The customer service clerk was very nice and discovered I had been charged for three hand towels when I only bought two. She recommended another brand so I came home with two new sets. We'll see how well I like them. We made another stop to take advantage of 11% off everything in the store which has just about everything for building construction, seasonal items, food, animal/pet needs, you name it. Ian's first ball game was close to Sioux City and it was a "warm" 57 degrees so off we went. I took my football coat just in case! We still had our stadium blankets in the car so told Bob I could always go to the car if the weather changed. I was so thankful the varsity played first! The wind came up and it was cold as the game progressed. Ian played well and made it to third on his first time at bat, was walked once, and struck out once. His team lost, 1-0, in the top of the 7th. Just as the game ended the rain drops began to fall and we drove home in the rain. I felt sorry for the jv team and fans. Today has been laundry and more sorting for Good Will and SOS boxes. My heart isn't in that any more so may go read for awhile.
Ceejay, I have never had a stress test so will be curious to hear what all it involves. Good luck! I need to start walking again to get my triglyceride number lower. If I have to exercise walking by the lake is my thing to do. I am good at putting that off “just because!”
I need to fold my towels and find my book. Hope you are enjoying a nice day sunny day!
The sunshine looks so good but it is still around 50 degree's. Tree's are blooming and no rain in the forecast this week.
Our church building was finally opened for services yesterday. It was good to see everyone. Oh and some good news for me! I've been elected to serve on the board until January at least. I'm filling in for a person that had to step down due to his wife's upcoming knee surgery.
Some more good news about Nephew A. He is in a different facility in Florida that works on the root causes of alcoholism and drug addiction. They have diagnosed him with post traumatic anxiety disorder. He has had several issues that would allow this. Two of the greatest would be when he was on a camping trip and his sleeping bag caught on fire. His back was severely burned. Then when he was 18 his dad who was only 58 at the died had a heart attack. He had spent the night with friends. He found him. Then last year his step dad, my bil, past away and his divorce. I can now see the whole picture and I have great hopes for recovery this time.
I desperately need to the grocery store.

I'll let you know about my stress test. I'm anxious about it.
Glad they let you return the towel sets.
Good Afternoon! The sun has been shining all day although windy and cool. We had over 100 in church yesterday so had a few more entries to post this morning. I've been doing laundry then dusted and vacuumed the main living area today. Spring must be here because the cats are shedding more. Time for a rest!
Ceejay, it sounds like your nephew is finally in a good place that can help him. He has a plateful that’s for sure! I agree about being back in church and seeing people again. I asked the pastor, this morning, about next Sunday. Pews will still be roped off for social distancing and the overflow will have to go to the Family Life Center to watch the service on TVs. We will go early enough to get our regular “assigned” seats. I need to go to the grocery store too, probably tomorrow.
The dryer should be done so need to fold towels and put them away. Hope you have enjoyed a nice day!
The Dr's office called and canceled the stress stating that insurance would not pay for it. I'm going to call the insurance company and ask why it was denied. Sis commented that it may be my labs were to good.
Need to do some more laundry and will make a meatloaf for dinner.
Jean
We didn't have assigned seats but we did have to register online to attend. Sanctuary was about full. We do have a balcony for over flow if needed. And Sunday is Easter.
Good Afternoon! It's sunny and breezy but nice after two very windy days. I ran several errands this morning. Our historical society has a book sale every spring so started my route there. The local library still isn't open due to a roof leak, mold, and damaged books. That was a month ago so don't know the latest excuse for not opening. I got tired of calling! Anyhow, have a box of books at 25 cents for paperbacks and fifty cents for hard back books so I'm set for awhile. They also had lots of craft materials and typical garage sale "junk" for sale. I headed to the grocery store and a couple other quick stops, then wondered what was for lunch when I got home. My "boss" at the hospital is taking a leave of absence for two months because her husband has cancer. As far as I know my part for counting money and paying invoices will stay pretty much the same.
Ceejay, I said “assigned seats” at church because we have always sat in the same pew forever. People, who attend regularly, seem to sit in the same place every Sunday. We don’t have to call in advance. The funny part is that on Sundays we sit on the west side of the church but for funerals and most weddings we sit on the east side. We rarely sit in the center section and I don’t know why. It would be interesting to know why insurance wouldn’t pay for the stress test. Maybe they would tell you if you call.
Not much is newsy from my corner of the world. We are going to Jason's Saturday; he needs Bob's expertise in fixing the head light wiring on his golf cart. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
Happy Friday! It seems like Saturday because Bob's office is closed and he's been home all day. The sun is shining and it's another windy day in my neighborhood. It was 30 degrees when I came downstairs this morning. Brr! Well, we are out of the orphan cat business. Bob has been diligently working on catching the last momma cat for over a week. She is one smart cat after being caught in it last winter. She went all the way into the trap yesterday but for some reason it didn't go off. Today it did. I feel bad because she would circle around it then sit by the door looking at the food. It's a bigger trap that is raccoon size. I hope she finds the other one we transplanted to the same farm and stays there! Anyhow will probably still see the tom cat from time to time so will have cat food and water out for him and the robins. The birds and squirrels will be happy with no cats around. To take to Jason's tomorrow, I made a veggie dip, salad, and a pan of brownies this morning. Have veggies to clean then iron a dress shirt for Bob for church. My feet are tired! I'm beginning to think I need bigger shoes!
The dishwasher is finished so need to unload it and keep moving. Hope you have a nice Easter!
Afternoon
We had a full house this morning at church. NephewC and his wife and children came out this morning as well. We sat in the balcony. I'm happy that we had so many people.
Sis has worked her self up to a tizzy this morning and then the kids didn't show for lunch. She said her arm was really hurting so I let her use some asper cream and the heating pad . I think she is asleep.
Bought some new SAS dress shoes that I really liked but do not feel good on my feet. I'm going to take them back and look for something else.
It is a beautiful day.
Thinking about getting a hair cut. I let my hair grow for 6 weeks and it is shaggy.
more later.
Good Morning! It's a beautiful morning in my neighborhood, sunny with a little breeze, and heading up to 75 this afternoon. We have flowers coming up while the yard is slowly filling in bare spots and turning green. We were supposed to get some rain but so far none and we need it. I have a fund raiser for the auxiliary later this morning. Imo it is mostly "junk," lots of plastic dodads and trinkets, kids' books, and jewelry, etc. Everything is priced at $5.00. It is being held at the resort rather than the hospital because of COVID restrictions. Employees are usually the best customers so don't know if many will take the time to drive across town and shop.
Ceejay, it was a nice Easter service for us also; an hour and a half long when it is normally an hour. Our weather was a warm 82 degrees so families could be outside to enjoy the day. I like SAS shoes but haven’t had any recently since our local shoe store doesn’t carry them any more. They are geared more towards athletic and trendy “young” shoes. I kidded the manager and told him he needed to have some “old lady” shoes. He just laughed but I was serious. You will have your yard in shape and looking great!
I have a couple errands to do so better get going. Hope you enjoy a terrific Tuesday doing something you enjoy!
Morning
Woke up to thunder and lightening this morning. And we had a good rain.
I did finish the yard work yesterday, now to start on the flower beds. I wanted to weed and feed the lawn yesterday but ran out of steam I actually put the riding mower in the shed. Sis bought a couple of ramps that worked perfectly. Now I can park in the garage again. I also called some one to service the lawn mower.
Today is house work .
Good Afternoon! We are on our second day of "off and on" rain showers. I am ready for some sunshine! We have seen more bunnies in the yard since there are no more cats. Tom cat hasn't been seen either so guess he has moved on too. The birds and squirrels keep Baby entertained. She lays low by the sliding door, pulls her ears down flat then jumps up to make them scatter. Ernie just sits and watches, he doesn’t get too excited about anything anymore. I went to have my nails done this morning, picked up some Ernie food at the vet's office, and stopped by the Dollar Tree for some birthday cards. Ian has a baseball game tomorrow and it's supposed to rain. He also plays Saturday but that game is further away so we'll see what the weather is like tomorrow.
Ceejay, we had lightning evening before last night and none of the printers in Bob’s office would work the next day. They are all wireless and the office is WiFi phones and computers which all worked. Eventually the printers did too after they were turned off and reprogrammed themselves. Hope you accomplished all you wanted to get done.
The hospital bank statement just came so guess I will work on that. Hope you have enjoyed a good day.
Good Morning! I just typed a post and it went into never never land. It's cloudy and cool here this morning, no rain nor wind at the moment. The weather guesser says the sun will shine this afternoon. I am dressed, have two loads of laundry going, and scooped potty boxes so far this morning. Plan for the day is to vacuum and dust at least two levels. If the sun comes out the dust really shows! I am hungry for potato salad so may do that too. Hope you have a nice day and enjoy!
I've been busy in the yard. Yesterday sis and I went to her house in Ash Grove to work in the yard there. She found some one to mow at a decent price. I took out some dead stuff from one of the flower beds and weeded around the flag stone patio. I found some one to pick up the rider for service.
It rained on the way home yesterday and then another thunderstorm came through about bed time.
I think nephew A is going to stay another 30 day's in Florida at the rehab. If not he'll be home this week end. I am praying he stay's another 30 day's. I think coming home is a big big trigger for him. To much stress.
Jean
I've been organizing my bedroom and still need to do more. I'm bringing home another chair from sissy's house to go in there.
