Went for a nice 2.5 hour walk with my husband and dog yesterday. Later cooked up some cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and beans. Put up a Christmas tree in the living room and another in the bedroom, and just a few decorations around the house. Still have the outdoor nativity to set up, but that shouldn't take long. Just need to find a spot that is less windy for it.
Good work on limiting your cookie intake! That takes some strong willpower. I need to get back into my stretching and weight exercises. My body is telling me it needs it. Have a good Monday! |
Thank you so much for the lovely Thanksgiving Day card! It sure helped brighten a wet, cold dreary day.
I did a little decorating in the house and caught up with some reading. Made some mac and cheese in my slow cooker for dinner. Will do more decorating tomorrow and laundry...... Have a great Tuesday! |
Glad you liked the Thanksgiving Day card. Too bad it got to you late. Better late than never. :)
Did some exercises and hand weight lifting yesterday morning. Then followed with some light zumba dancing. I figure if I start off slowly, my body will handle it better. Also set up my dogs jumps and weave poles. The ground is kind of lumpy, but we managed to find a spot for set up. He was so happy to be out there running around them. We actually had some sunshine for a few hours too making it nice to be out there. Breakfast-toast Lunch-broccoli, beans, and rice Dinner-veggie pizza, nuts Have a great Tuesday! |
Breakfast-Toast
Lunch-Mock chik patty and pierogies Dinner-veggie fajitas Exercise-3 hour walk Watched movies for most of the day yesterday since it was rainy and cold. Been watching the Walking Dead series. Don't really care about the dead people walking around, but have gotten caught up in the surviving characters and their roles. Some entertainment on those cold, wet days. Have a good Wednesday! |
It's Thursday! Nothing too exciting going on today, just work. Well yesterday I succumbed to some leftover Halloween corn candy. It was very delicious and I am sure I will end up paying for it this weekend with weigh-in. Cold, foggy, rainy, and dreary here. Hope you get some sunshine.
Breakfast-granola Lunch-bean w/rice salad Dinner-toast Snack-corn candy |
No rain for a change. Spent the morning grocery shopping, then went to the mall to see the decorations and do a little shopping. I had some coupons so I spent a grand total of $1.09. I spent more time in the checkout line than actual shopping!
Tomorrow we're going to put up the outside decorations and finish doing some outside chores before it gets too cold. Been selling lots of hay. My eating has been really bad :( |

Breakfast-Granola
Lunch-Veggie pasta, cabbage, peas Dinner-Mexican Bean casserole Snack-Chocolate cereal bar pieces My eating has not been the best either, but tomorrow is weigh-in so we need to face reality. It will be the only way to help motivate us to hang on to the reins during the holidays and maintain some type of control in our eating with the loads of food that will surround us. I think it is okay to have some of it, just not over do it. |
Breakfast-Granola
Lunch-mock chik patty and pierogies Dinner-Chinese noodles and vegetables Exercise-walk 2 hours Down 0.5 lb this week. Not much but it still a loss. Hope you do good! Happy December!! |
Happy Sunday! Another wonderful day to celebrate our love of Christ and his wonderful Father, Our God! Hope you feel especially close to them today and all during this month.
|
Today is going to be hard...first I have a Christmas brunch buffet and then tonight I have a Christmas dinner party put on by Home Depot. Wish me luck :)
Raining here again! The ground is so super saturated. I think we do have a drier week but then maybe a snow storm this coming weekend. You did good last week. I didn't even get the scale out...... Have a blessed Sunday! |
Okay, to be realistic about this time of year, I think it would be best just to wait until the New Year to drag out that scale again. However, after the New Year I think we both need to be held accountable for what we do in order to be successful in our lifestyle goals for 2019.
We have some snow flurries in the forecast for tomorrow, but nothing compared to what your area has in the forecast. I hope you stay warm and safe my friend. Hope you had a nice time at the buffet and party. |
Well, I didn't do too bad yesterday, but I agree it's nearly impossible not be tempted this time of the year. And Sam is on vacation for the next 2 weeks and I know we will be eating out quite a bit.
On a better note, the sun is shining and it doesn't look to be too bad this week. It's going to get colder but no precipitation till the end of the week. Going to put my heated water buckets in the stalls and do a few outside things. Hope you have a great Monday! |
The weather was beautiful today. Got all the outside decorations up and heated water buckets in the stalls.
Please don't feel the need to send me anything for Christmas. Your friendship is the most wonderful gift to me. |
Well we didn't get any snow. Just saw a few flurries come down in the rain one day, but that was it. Glad about that. I am already cold most of the time. :) Just that time of the year.
You are so sweet. I am so glad to have you as a friend. Yes, your friendship is the best thing you can give to me. You don't need to worry about exchanging presents at all. I did order one small gift for you, and it was something I just wanted to share. So please don't be upset about it. I really want nothing in return except your friendship. Have a terrific Wednesday! |
Oh, don't get me wrong, I love presents! I just didn't want you to feel obligated to send me something. Keep an eye on your mailbox :D
Sam's on vacation for 11 days and we went to a casino for the afternoon. I'm not much of a gambler but I did play some slot machines. It was fun and I didn't lose very much. Have a wonderful Thursday! |
Sounds like Sam and you are spending some nice holiday time together. My Grandmother use to visit the casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She liked the food buffets too. She would go on the Senior citizen bus there just to have something to do. She loved it.
Have a great Thursday! |
Happy Friday the 7th. Hope you have a great weekend!!
|
Sam and I are out and about today. I still need to get a Christmas tree. There are lots of places near us that sell them and I'm sure they'll be crazy busy this weekend. I think I'll wait till Monday.
I have a butterfly bush that needs to be trimmed back. It hits the house when the wind blows. I think I'll do that today and enjoy the sunshine. Have an awesome Friday! |
Enjoy that sunshine. We have high winds and rain. Not good for walking this morning. So I will just do bills, and then try to get a bit of sleep before work tonight. One good point about these gloomy, long dark days is that it enhances all the Christmas lights that are up. Have a great Saturday!
|
Happy Sunday! I will be busy for the next couple of days, so will catch up with you later mid-week. Enjoy your vacation time with Sam. :)

Happy Wednesday! What a cold and foggy morning it is. My husband strung a strand of Christmas lights on the side of the house in the shape of a tree. Adds a festive touch to the dark hours of the day. I like it.
This morning having banana bread for breakfast. :) It is toast with a banana cut up on top of it with a touch of cinnamon. The healthy type for me. A good start before a early morning walk. May have to bring the flashlights this morning for the beginning of the walk. I know my dog is waiting patiently for me to get started in that direction. He always get so excited. Makes it exciting for me too. Time to start my day. Hope you have a good one. |
Happy Thursday! I guess you are getting some snow flurries by now. Hope you are staying warm and those sweet little horses are staying warm and happy too. Enjoy your time together with Sam.
|
We're going to get a dusting of snow today then turning warmer for the weekend. Sam's back to work but he has another vacation in 17 days. He's going to retire in May so he's taking a vacation every month to use up his vacation weeks. Not sure if I'll like him home all the time :)
My eating has been really awful.....too many parties and good food. Have a great Thursday! |
Enjoy the holiday season and have fun. In the New Year we can crack down on things once again and make a fresh start. We will have no excuses then. ;)
|
All my shopping is done and gifts wrapped. Raining here yet again! Baking a cake for my mother-in-laws birthday. She's going to be 91 and I hope I am as active as she is when I'm 91! I'm having a small party for her tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Sunday! |
I like your new holiday style ticker. Very festive. With all your shopping done, you can now relax and enjoy the Christmas season. That is nice that you baked a cake for your Mother-in-Laws birthday. Sounds like it will be a nice day for her. Hope you have a nice Sunday!
|
Lots of rain yesterday. I'm sure glad it wasn't snow. We would have be buried! I hope the ground freezes soon. I'm so tired of the mud! The farrier is coming today then I need to do a little grocery shopping to pick up items for Christmas eve and Christmas day.
Have an awesome Monday! |
Thank you so much for the gift! It's perfect and will be a great way to start each day in 2019.
You are a wonderful friend! |
Happy Wednesday!
Hi Renee, Just got the Christmas gift you sent to me yesterday. Thank you for the gift!! I have the perfect spot for it too, right out in our mini-garden near the walkers trail by our house. All the walkers will see the frogs spreading good cheer as they walk by. Thank you!! I am glad you like the gift I got you. :) Have you actually received it yet or just the card telling you about it? My Christmas days off are now through Friday. Merry Christmas my friend! I am going to enjoy my days for the rest of this year. When the New Year starts, I will be in full force mode for eating healthy and exercising. I told my husband that. His reply "You say it every year, the same old thing" My reply "But this year it will be different" His look made me realize I had probably said that before too. Well, I now need to make it happen. No more delays or excuses. Hi Annette, welcome to this support group! I have sent you a private message on how to navigate through 3FC. |
Glad you like the little frogs. I thought they were so cute! Yes, I did receive the book and your card and I love them!
Funny, my husband says the same thing when I say I'm going to eat better and exercise more. But I REALLY need to do it next year! |
Watched 2 Christmas movies last night: The Fitzgerald Family Christmas and the Christmas Cottage. Both family type movies and just right for the season.
Also checked out a exercise DVD doing Country line dancing. It seemed like it would be fun. I had done some in my earlier years. However, the DVD was just horrible. So after about 15 minutes, I cut if off. It played fine, just the program on it was done poorly. So back to the library it went. Have a good Thursday! |
Did my final grocery shopping before Christmas. I am done! Tomorrow it's going to rain so I think I will bake the last batch of cookies.
I watched Olafs Christmas and Shrek the Halls last night. I'm such a dork, but I love a good animated cartoon. Enjoy your Friday! |
Happy Friday! A very rainy start to the day here. Doing some shopping today, so I can bring in some food to work tomorrow for our Christmas meal. Also need to buy a dog food container to keep that dog food fresh and stored away. Went for a walk yesterday in a new forest with some steep hills. It was a good trail because I felt a little sore afterwards. Using different muscles on those hills. I will have to go back to that trail again. I liked it, although it was a bit muddy in some places. Hope you have a good day!
|
How was your office Christmas party? Tomorrow I have a church "Seasons Eating" lunch buffet. I'm taking cheese and crackers and I made pumpkin bread.
Sam stopped at a bakery on his way home from work and bought an assortment of kiffles. My eating has been off the charts. Not looking forward to weigh-in come January! Have a blessed Sunday! |
The Christmas party went great. I brought in two cake rolls, that were a hit, along with some orange gingerbread, and some chocolate oatmeal squares. I ate some vegetable quiche that was good. It all worked out fine and was a nice event for the office.
My eating is similar, but honestly I think I am reaching my peak now. Especially since my loose clothes are feeling a bit snug now. Just a gentle reminder for me to take it easy over the upcoming days. Kiffles! Yum, I love kiffles. My Grandmother always had kiffles at her house for us kids. She had nut, apricot, and poppy seed usually. Hope you have a fantastic Sunday and enjoy the Church Buffet! |
