Morning all. It's shaping up to be a lovely day here.

Yesterday bf & I went to breakfast with bf's mom, and then to the grocery store afterwards. We each bought some soda on sale, and we were out of the county, so we avoided the penny per ounce tax where we live. And we alo bought some other items as well. So our greedy county is losing out... I'm hoping to keep cutting back on soda so what I have lasts a longer time, and of course be healthier by drinking plain water, flavored selter water, and iced tea.

Didn't do much else yesterday. We went to the new grocery that opened where the big chain grocery closed a few years ago. For the most part, we were underwhelmed & unimpressed, though they do have a selection of Polish and other European foods. It'll be convenient for quick trips, though we do already have the little Walmart right across the street from this other place for that too.

This morning I did another kettle bell workout, this one focused on the abs. Some of the moves had to be substituted due to my foot (lunge type moves), and others were difficult (hope to improve in future attempts). But it was a good workout.

A friend visiting from out of town is supposed to call late this morning and we'll go to the fest this afternoon. We'll see if it happens. In the meantime, I'm going to get this posted and take a shower & get ready because bf & I will be going to the fest with or without my friend.

I'll get to personals tomorrow. I hope you're all having a good weekend!

Good morning ladies,

Finally had a day to ourselves yesterday. We were going to go on the boat but while it was warm and sunny, winds were predicted at 10 to 15 mph. That makes the water really choppy and it also makes the boat drift and is hard to handle docking and undocking. So instead I suggested to DH that he find some new ATV trails and we can go check out leaf colors as we have several brilliant reds already around here. He found a place an hour's drive north of here in a neighboring county and we had a great ride. It was cool early - in the 50's but quickly warmed up. I just wore clothing I could peel off as the temperatures eased up. We got a trail map and took a ride and stopped at the new place and had a delicious breakfast. We were gone about 3 hours. It's still only a few trees turning - I think this section will be one to turn golden once things start to pop. With the abundance of tree varieties some turn yellow-orange (my favorite), some turn red and you have to keep a vigilant eye once they start to change because the weather (wind and a sudden storm or period of dryness) can make them go from pretty to ugh yellow and moldy black spotty in an instant. Anyway we had a great ride. Came home for a while, DH took a short nap and then we went to the casino for a bit. DH played blackjack and stayed even, I spent my allowance. I then treated him to the buffet for dinner. Came home, did a 3 way call with my sister and Mum and stayed on the telephone way much longer than I wanted to but we all had a good chat - with the three of us at once, it was like having a visit. I have to look at my calendar, thinking perhaps I might make a trip back around the end of next month to be there for my Mom's 91st birthday. She will still expect a party  Today I have to go and work at the thrift shop. Don't want to but the regular Monday morning crew NEVER work a holiday. Never ever. In July the 4th was on a Tuesday and they STILL took off on Monday. I said close the store then. :snooty: The one regular afternoon lady is coming in and I said I'd help her out. But I am working holiday hours 11 - 3 and if they want to come in earlier or stay later they are welcome to it. I have spent enough time these past 2 weeks on this place. DH is going to the casino tonight - he plays in a blackjack tournament on Mondays - only $25 to enter and they give you $300 in chips to play. He is pretty good - so far all weeks but one he has either won his entry fee back or got the top prize of $50 so it doesn't cost anything for him. I will have to figure dinner though as I'll be getting home about an hour before he leaves. I did find some great looking baked chicken recipes but won't have enough time for that.

Laura - my sister lives on the border of two counties and she said the stores in Cook have stockpiled cases of drinks and put them on sale but no one is buying either. This is going to backfire I think. I was surprised when I called my Mom and she had the fan on. It's getting very cool here and she said yesterday and maybe today you are still getting temps in the 90's. I hope you have one more nice day to enjoy yourself.

Ceejay- I like food too so I really "get" your comment  I also have started to make a list of foods that will address certain issues like inflammation/arthritis, weight loss, etc. Thing is, I like all these foods - now the challenge is to put them together into a reasonable portion and a menu plan so that I'm not scrambling when I'm hungry to find something to eat. :dizzy: I still can't believe it's been a year already that you retired. Ceejay - no, we will not be taking the cats with us on our getaway even though the hotels much to our surprise are pet friendly. It's a 4 hour drive and I don't think they would like to be in the car that long. I am also afraid that they would get spooked in a different place and try to bolt when we opened the door. I am becoming more comfortable that they will be perfectly fine on their own for 2 days. I will leave lots of extra food and water all around the house for them to hunt out. They LOVE finding food in unexpected places.

Susie - I have always liked JC Penney's clothing for work although I found that I have to be careful ordering online as some of their blouses are sewn very cheaply with barely a seam allowance in them. But they do have cute stuff at reasonable prices. We stopped in the JCP in Duluth to look at appliances and walked past the clothes and I so wanted to take a look but I was with DH so there was no clothes shopping on the agenda  Congratulations on fitting into a new lower size! What great fun. And it's pretty cool to need all new clothes because your's don't fit! :D I hope you were able to attend all the activities you had planned for the weekend. Always busy you are!

Annie - I hope you are doing well this long weekend. I guess you have your counseling session tomorrow? Good luck with that.

Hello Shad  what's going on over on your side of the world?

Time for me to get ready - I'd like to do a few things around her before I leave since I obviously didn't get much done yesterday.

Enjoy the day everyone.

ceejay52 09-04-2017 06:24 PM

It's been a good week thus far. Went to church Sunday and afterwards to sissy's house. She was having her sons and families over Sunday afternoon and wanted me to help. BIL grilled burgers and dogs on the big green egg. Ended up spending the night and went to my nephews house, the one who broke his leg, and did two loads of his laundry. Sis and BIL mowed his lawn. He's doing better but still has a way to go on complete healing.
Decided to add up my calories burned from the fitbit this past week the divide that total by 7 to get a calorie limit for myself. I'm using a diet that is good for the digestion. You can find any thing on the internet.

Happy
I'm looking forward to the leaves changing. I did see a maple tree that was beginning to turn red today on the way home. The air is becoming more brisk too. I love fall. Glad you and dh had a good ride on the ATV.

Laura
Did you have a good time at the fest?

annie175 09-05-2017 08:37 AM

Wednesday, tomorrow is supposed to be my first therapy session. The doc office called and had to reschedule due to a death in the doc's family. My new appt is on the 19th, yet I am on the wait-list for an opening. It is only next week but it will be 4 weeks since all this went down. I really want to talk to the doc. Patience is NOT my virtue.

C has been diagnosed as Bi-polar. Explains a lot, he too is doing counseling. Still so much to work at for me as I am on the fence about things at the moment.

All and all and considering my frame of mind the weekend went ok. Didn't do really much. Did go to visit Cs parents. I made Keto beef stew, rolls, zucchini bread and salad. I ate the salad and stew. We ended up bringing home 110 solid (no holes) bricks, firewood already chopped for the pit fire and sticks for kindling. Going to do a brick walk from the back patio to the shed. It was actually the best visit ever we have had with them. Strange.

Thank you all for the comforting thoughts and prayers. Still in need of them.

Laura705 09-05-2017 11:58 AM

Morning all. Fall-like morning out there. I don’t mind, except that the wind is a bit brisk…

Happy – Good to get a real electrician to work on the lights in the shop! == Re your body confidence comment – in general, there’s a very relaxed attitude about what people wear, and you’re absolutely right, it’s often very unflattering and immodest. The girl you described – what made her think that her outfit looked good on her? And it probably wouldn’t have looked good on anyone except the most slender person. And tattoos – it’s gotten to be too much. I do think some are art and that some of the people who do them are really talented artists, but most are nothing special at all. And people cover their bodies with them and are just a distraction that competes with the clothing and the person themselves. I would never want something permanent like that, as I would certainly tire of it after a while. == I did get out of the office a wee bit early. The boss told us at around 2 pm that his boss said we could leave early if we want. I didn’t want to rush out and try to get the 2:24 express train, and didn’t want to take the 2:30 all-stop train. So I left around 2:45 to get to the 3:10 express. == Too bad you didn’t get out on the boat over the weekend, but better safe than sorry, of course. We had gusty winds yesterday, and it’s still windy today. I’m glad you had a nice ATV ride though. I hope you get to enjoy a lot of nice color this fall.

Ceejay – I’ve watched My 600-pound Life, and at least those folks have finally decided to do something about their weight. Unfortunately, they’ve already suffered many medical problems due to their weight and are very immobile. The woman on My Big Fat Fabulous Life seems to have made a deliberate decision to no longer try to lose weight. I fear she’s heading in the direction of 600 pounds. == Good job on exceeding the 150 minute exercise goal!! Sounds like you had a nice weekend with family. :)

Susie – How was your busy weekend? What a great deal on the slacks at JCP. And on fitting into a smaller size than you expected!! == LOL, I like your description of Happy’s last bingo night – Bingo gone wild.
Annie – I’m sorry the counseling session was postponed. I know you want to get to work addressing your issues with someone. Talking things out with a professional could certainly help! I hope something comes up sooner. Hang in there, and I’ll keep you in my thoughts & prayers. == I know that bi-polar disorder is treatable these days, but it still must be so scary for C and for you. == The brick path out to the shed sounds like a great project. We have one of those Rubbermaid sheds in the back of our yard that was built directly on the ground at the edge of the lawn. I think we should tear out the lawn directly in front of the shed doors and install some paver blocks so the doors don’t get hung up on the grass when we open the doors…

Hello to Shad! How’s the big project going – bathroom, laundry room? I hope you’ve had some time to stop and smell the roses, or whatever nice-smelling flowers you’ve got growing in your garden at the moment. :flow1:
==
My friend came to the house and he and bf and I went to the fest in the early afternoon. It was nice going at that time in that there weren’t a lot of people crowding the place, but then again, the people watching wasn’t as good. :D The food was tasty. == My friend, who I knew from our local grocery store from back in my early college days & whom I dated a couple times, hasn’t changed a bit. He’s moved around quite a bit, but is now living in the twin cities, MN. He comes back “home” a few times a year, so it was good to reconnect and see him while he was in.

Otherwise, didn’t do much over the weekend. Yesterday was an overcast, gusty day and it didn’t motivate me to do anything but sloth around. I did some laundry and that was about it.

I left the house for work this morning and noted that the hatch on the suv was left open from the night before. BF had gone to his mom’s house and also to the grocery in the other county to pick up more soda on sale and left the hatch open after he unloaded. I already had the living room blinds closed so I didn’t see it. No harm since it didn’t rain, and no critters in there as far as I could tell, lol.

Short workweek this week, but tomorrow we have a morning meeting with our counterparts from a subsidiary of ours, and then a dinner later on.

Okay, that’s about it. Time to post!

happy2bme 09-05-2017 12:29 PM

not the best day for me. I will try and come back later tonight and post.

ceejay52 09-05-2017 06:48 PM

Annie
Bless you and C. My cousin has Bi-polar but she doesn't take all her medicine. I hope C can get the correct dosage. Will continue to send good thought and prayers.

Happy
Hoping a is well with you and family. And that their is no hot spots to put out at the thrift store, shelter, senior citizen's or at bingo.

Laura
Glad to hear that your friends visit went well and that you enjoyed the time at the fest. Has the new season of My Bit Fat Fabulous Life started?

Hi Susie and Shad.

Haven't done much today except go to the gym.
Supposed to get a low as 48 degree's tonight. It is really nice this afternoon.

annie175 09-06-2017 11:12 AM

Hello...

Today is not so bad. Good days and bad days. More good days than bad lately...I am trying to give it to God and let his will be done in this situation. It is all I can do. Hopefully it won't bring me more hurt.

I have remained Keto strong. Down to 160 which is 34 lbs. Sorta want to make this my final goal but am sure it may go lower. I am eating Keto and not skimping. I have been at 160 for about 3 weeks. I really need to try to firm up but don't know if firming flabbiness is even doable. (loose skin) Bat wings, apron.

HAPPY....um, thought you were not volunteering as much or at all in August? THank you my friend for you support.

LAURA...what new classes are at the replex? Also thank you.

CEEGJAY... a year already, seems like just yesterday. Retirement is agreeing with you.

SUSIE...the struggles of WL. You will get your grip on it I am sure of that.

SHAD...how is the hair coming along? Bathroom done yet?

Sorry so short, my mind is scattered lately. Hugs and thank you for all your love, hugs, thoughts and prayers. Always in need.

happy2bme 09-06-2017 01:29 PM

Hi all,

So much to do, I am overwhelmed. Furnace is not working right, we need a repair call. DH wants basement tidied up before service guy comes. There is not enough time in the universe to get everything done. Yes, I am trying to back off my volunteer stuff - the more I try to push back, the more that pops up. Got an email today that the book lady took a bad fall and cracked 3 ribs. No lifting for her for weeks on end. I will do what I can with books for a few hours but simply can't commit to anything right now. Calgon take me away... far away. But not to Florida. Or Texas. Or anywhere along the gulf or the west coast that is burning up with no water to put out fires. When all is said and done, I like it here and I can adapt to the cold weather. I do know several people in Florida - my cousins are heading to Georgia for a few days. I have friends who have winter places in Florida - they are hoping and praying that there is a miss. I think it's smart - especially after Houston that people are packing up and leaving ahead of time and not clogging the roads and risking getting caught as would have happened in Houston at the last minute. Say what you will, I think it was smart not to evacuate at the last minute. Water can flood quickly at a moment's notice and what do you do when people are bumper to bumper traffic and a road becomes a lake with no way to rescue people. Some folks just like to call others names and pass judgements - they are the real dummies and idiots. Especially when they have no clue about running things. Anyway - I am glad that I am far from this - 2 years ago we had wildfires up this way - always a danger because things are very dry here even though we have lakes all around us. And I was petrified that we could face that danger. My heart goes out to all who are suffering or worried right now. Especially because those areas are so densely populated and sometimes there is no where to run...

Anne - I'm very sorry that your counseling session got rescheduled - especially when you really need it. I think there is a shortage of all sorts of medical staff - takes so long to get seen that by the time you get an appointment - you no longer have the issue. I hope you can find a way to deal with things in the interim. I suppose it's good that they have a diagnosis with C but boy or boy - from all I have heard bipolar is a tough one. Seems so hard to get the meds right and I guess there are unpleasant side effects too so not everyone wants to take their medication as they need it. My heart and prayers to you  I also hope you can find inner strength to deal with your own challenges. Good that you are focusing on your eating plan - control what you can at this moment in your life. I know you are not a fan of exercise of any sort but I would encourage you to find something that you can tollerate - even if it is walks after school with the boys. One of the things I have found is that we do lose muscle mass as we age and it's not just about looking fit and trim. It also has ALOT to do with supporting our bodies and controlling aches and pains. Just like they say having strong abs helps support the back and it's one of the first things they tell you to work on if you have back pain - I am now finding that leg muscles support the legs and knees and ankles. So it's all about feeling better and having the stamina to do the everyday things. I'm thinking that Sassy probably shares your dislike of exercise and doesn't want to go for walks around the block? Wishing you the best girl... always. Good thoughts still going out to you...

Thanks for the good thoughts Ceejay - aren't you glad you are a little farther away so you don't have to deal with residual effects of hurricanes? With the weather getting cooler you should see some color starting to peek in the trees too. Are you keeping up with with your music practice?

Laura - I guess the electrician didn't really fix the lights after all. The one light stopped working about 4 days after he "fixed it". My DH thinks he replaced the failing part with the same kind of part D had put in the light - which was the wrong "power" and it burnt the ballast out prematurely. DH will probably get roped into working on the light tomorrow. It wasn't the electrician's fault - he had no way of knowing that the ballast was the wrong size. :dizzy: Always something. I'm glad your car battery didn't drain out with the hatch being left open. Good too that you didn't get any rain either. I guess it's easy enough not to notice. I think you are right about rethinking the entry to the shed doors. We had one we built in AH and we butted it right to the patio so we'd have a cement entry way and it was handy being about to use a ramp and not fuss with the doors. I think it also helps keep the doors from rotting. How nice you got to visit with your old friend. I wonder if he drives like a speed demon now that he lives in the Twin Cities

Shad - time to check in. How are the renovations coming along?

Susie - did you have a nice holiday weekend? You have me wanting to buy some clothes now with all the great stuff you got on your shopping trip!

Ok, best get off the computer because the day is running quickly and I have to shower up and get some errands run. I realized that bingo is tomorrow night and I HAVE to get to the bank to make last week's deposit and more importantly get the change we need so that I have enough small bills for business tomorrow night. Yikes!

Have a good one ladies.

Laura705 09-06-2017 03:13 PM

Afternoon all. Long meeting today (10-1) and now a quick lunch.

Happy – I hope your day is better today. Oops, just reading your latest post…crikes the furnace not behaving! Grrr! == Awful we’ve got another part of the country facing a weather catastrophe. I’ve got a friend in Miami – I’ll have to check where Irma is headed. == I think the electrician should have checked the ballast before putting a new part in there!

Ceejay – There has been no announcement that My Big Fat Fabulous Life will be back for another season. It got very silly/stupid last year with all the scenarios that the producers cooked up – probably because the star doesn’t really have all that much (interesting) going on in her real life. And as I said, it really isn't all that fabulous. They probably can’t see where else it could go. So much for that. == It got really chilly overnight by us and it’s only in the mid-60’s right now. Jacket time!

Annie – I’m glad you’re getting through your days, with some good ones thrown in there. Good job staying with the Keto program. Great current/goal weight for someone your height. Ditto what Happy said about exercise. == I haven’t checked out the classes at the recplex for the fall. I’m going to exercise at home for the time being. Of course that doesn’t happen when I get home and plop down on the sofa and talk turns to dinner. (That happened yesterday.) And it won’t happen tonight – I have a work dinner. Sigh.

Hellos to Shad and Susie.

Nothing new with me, so I'll just get this posted.

annie175 09-07-2017 08:01 AM

Whew what a night....Had a pork loin roast in the crocker. Made mashed tatos for those who could eat them also broccoli/cauliflower mix. Leftover salad. Roast was fantabolous. Helped C work on his truck for a bit. Unloaded, reloaded dinner dishes, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. Folded laundry. Made coffee for today. Sat in the garage and watched it rain for a bit. My pitiful mind was thinking...Yeah, I am a crappy wife so crap on me. Had to get that out of my head real quick.

Cs parents have a winter home in FLA. Bout halfway down the state, hours drive from the ocean. Thinking they should be ok. At least they are themselves are ok, they are here in Indiana for the warm months. Yikes. Also have a friend who is here in Indy now that has a winter home in Ft. Meyers. Hope all goes ok for them. Especially since they are not there to prepare there home for the hurricane.

Hope I am strong enough to make it through Cs bipolar stuff. Lordie. Or even want to.

HAPPY...you MUST slow down and quit being so assessable to others. Cept me! lol. Boo on the furnace. Always something. Sure hope you are not starting the next trend of fate for us. :)

LAURA...I dread work dinners, especially since I don't drink. Funny to watch the crazies tho when they do drink. Some things that come out of their mouths. Yikes.

SUSIE...I heart you sister.

CEEG...how is the keyboard playing coming along?

Hey SHADDIE...come up for air.

Hugs all.

Laura705 09-07-2017 10:35 AM

Morning all. Not ready for another day of work, but here I am. Bleh.

Annie – Dinner sounded delicious. I highly doubt you come anywhere near being a crappy wife, so yeh, keep that though out of your head. == I hope C’s parents’ and your friend’s houses in FL makes it through Irma without damage. I have a friend in Miami and she is preparing the house & hunkering down – storm shutters, etc. Also told her if there's an evacuation that she should come up here…will be praying for her and all of Florida, this one sounds super scary. == The work dinner was fine, not a lot of drinking. I had a sangria, but didn’t want a second. Others had a couple drinks, wasn’t paying attention to the other end of the table. Some things come out of people’s mouths without consumption of any drinks at all, lol.

Hellos to the rest of you! Hope you’re all doing alright or better. :)

==

Work dinner was fine. Our host gave the impression that it was a small plates kind of place, but it really wasn’t. He just liked the idea of ordering a bunch of appetizer type stuff and everyone sharing. Which was fine, though once I thought about it, everything had some type of bread associated with it. Separate round brioche buns served with prosciutto & cheese, crusty toasted slices of bread with burrata cheese & jam, a giant meatball with more crusty bread (wish I’d skipped the bread on that one), and then rustic pizzas. Dessert was a homemade sugared donut with your choice of sauce to top it with. Yup, all bread-y stuff. (Sorry for the food porn, lol.) It was all tasty, but I was really full after that. :moo:

I took the 8:30 train home, and had to ride my bike home in the dark. I wanted bf to pick me up, but he’d run out to exchange a faucet he and my mom bought when they went shopping for her sink/faucet/countertop in the late afternoon. He said he accidentally took the wrong one off the shelf – brushed finish vs. shiny. He reported that the shopping trip went well and didn’t go overly long. His strategy was to start later in the day. When the sink and counter are ready, he will be removing the existing counter. The store will install the new counter, and then bf will install the sink and faucet himself.

That’s about it for me. Looking forward to going straight home after work tonight. :cloud9:

ceejay52 09-07-2017 11:47 AM

Annie
I'm still practicing the keyboard. Just disappointed in myself for letting my talent go all these years. And the arthritis in my hands and fingers don't help any. It does help to practice and settle my nerves.

Happy
If it's not one thing it's the other. Ouch on the lady that broke a rib. Hope those fires don' come by your state and home.

Laura
Glad you got home safely in the dark last night. I don't like to drive at night any more.

----------
My neice from Maryland is in Missouri. She will be at my house by around 1.30. She's going to be tired. She flew into to Kansas City, MO and my BIL has picked her up and bringing her to my house. tomorrow we will be going to Branson. I need to get some more things done.

annie175 09-07-2017 12:38 PM

Decided on PTO tomorrow. May not post till Monday. Just letting you know.

happy2bme 09-07-2017 02:30 PM

Hi kids,

Well I was sitting here this morning and I realized that all this year I have been thinking I'm 62 and actually I'm 63. I'm halfway through 63 actually. I keep forgetting how old I am - actually it sort of catches me by surprise because I don't feel my age. Except for when I wake up and every muscle and tendon and joint in my body screams in pain and stiffness. I am back to pain waking me up again somewhere between 5 and 6am. Thank you arthritis. :(

I am flitting all over - trying to look up stuff to see at our trip next week - we will just be about an hour from the Canadian border - gotta make sure we don't cross it accidentally as we don't have our papers yet. I am also pulling together a list of foods that I have clipped over the years to help fight arthritis, inflammation, etc. It's simple fresh foods - I should be easily able to make an eating plan and menus from that. I did pick up some corn on the cob on the way home yesterday - that should be the last of the season :( And then corn is on the starchy, sugary, do not eat or very sparingly menu. There are other things like make a list of things to not forget before I go, make a list of things I need to remember to get done, all those things and thoughts all over the place. :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

And remember to post here. :D I have cousins in Florida - they left for Georgia who will still get hit by the hurricane but not as badly as where they live in Florida. I am glad they heeded the warning even if it will hit the east side instead of the Gulf side where they live. My brother has a kid who I have no interest in whatsoever because she is the most selfish, controlling, despicable person I have ever known in my life. She had a good husband and kids and dumped them to run around with all kinds of guys. She is really messed up in the head. She just married a guy who is 10 years older than her teenaged son. If my brother was still alive, he'd be livid and angry and embarassed at her trampy behavior. But my Mom (who is easily influenced) said they are just so happy together ** birds flying around with banners and flowers in the air *** tweet, tweet. Oh that reminds me I was also going to check on airfare to perhaps make a short visit for my Mom's next birthday...

Ceejay - have fun with your niece. Your comment about music reminds me of what my DH said - wished he had taken up the guitar when he was younger and it came more easily. Still I'm sure practicing the piano will help keep your fingers a bit more flexible. Arthritis is such a limiter...

Laura - when you start to look at alot of restaurant food, you are right - it sure is carby!!! Yikes on having to bike home late at night. I did notice yesterday (perhaps as you are peddling) that it is getting dark at 8pm now. Too bad they switched down (I guess you'd say MBFFL). I hate it when they jump the shark and ruin a good show. I was watching the last 3 episodes of Season 1 of This is Us in preparation for the new season. I think I figured out how the dad died. Funny how you miss little clues the first time you watch something...

Annie - I took your "bad wife" comment and went outside and threw it on the driveway and schmushed it into powder and ground it into the rocks and blew it to the 4 winds. Enough of that, ok? You are a good person who makes particularly good food - wish I could come over for leftovers. I hope the family members in Florida will be ok. That is mega scary. How is Jacob liking school?

Hello Shad and Susie

DH just went to the store - he has a taste for and is going to make spaghetti and meatballs. I tried to get him to defer that to tomorrow but no dice. Pasta always puts me in a coma - I don't really want to eat it right before I have to go to bingo for 5 hours and stay alert tonight. But you know how boys are - feelings so easily upset.

happy2bme 09-07-2017 02:31 PM

Annie - there is always texting if you need a fix!

Shad 09-07-2017 04:28 PM

Sorry. Done it again. Don't know where the time goes. It's just that everything seems to be piling up and I make a schedule for the week/day and something else hits with a sledgehammer. Spring has come in with a vengeance and the temps are climbing and I think I must be getting old.

Annie - do not think about being a bad wife ever!!!!!!!!!! You are NOT. Bi Polar is not an easy fix - indeed if it is fixable at all. It often seems that the poor sufferer gets on the meds and makes a remarkable recovery. Because he/she is feeling better he/she does not take the meds, and the cycle returns. And it seems you can't convince them to stay on the meds. IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. And I know you are a very loving wife and mother, but sometimes it is hard to take the blows when they turn up un-expectantly.

Hello's to everyone else. Sorry I can't get around to personals today. I have to rush off to the shower shortly and go and get my friend who has a aneurysm and is not allowed to drive and to take her to the doctor and the heart centre - right in the middle of peak hour traffic. Grrrrrr. Seems the only emergency type appointments you can get around here are peak hour ones. After that I have to go over to the neighbours place - she is suffering from a deep depression and the medics have changed her meds and it no longer appears to be working. Tears and fears. Once I have sorted her and organised her day for her - yes she is/was normally a very independent person but now needs guidance to get her through the day. Hope that can all be sorted out soon. Over the weekend, I am taking her to the PA Hospital for her yearly head check. She has a shunt in her head because it doesn't drain fluid normally. Her little dog hasn't been well either so it is a double whammy for her.

I still have some painting to do in the bathroom and I am waiting for the tiler to come and do the floor in the laundry. Then I can get on with painting and furnishing new cupboards etc in there. The hall is nearly ready for painting. The builder will be back to finish off the trims in the laundry and hall when the tiler has done his bit. And the DS2 (Electrician) will be back to finish his bit as well. I'm also still working on the 3rd bedroom, after which I will rest up for a bit with the renovations, before I move onto the next stage in the main bedroom.

So have a good day all. Enjoy what is left of your summer and autumn. Winter will be here before you know it and then dang it all Christmas. Where the heck has the year gone.

MyChoice2bfit 09-07-2017 05:03 PM

Hi ladies this week has been crazy with work even though it was a short week I worked over Tuesday and Wednesday and today I went into the office which it's my normal work from home day but we had a meeting and I needed to be there and if you minutes I'll be going to Tops so it's run run run run.

I will try to do personals from what I remember reading,

Anne: look here sister friend don't you dare say that you are not a good wife you are a good all-around person and an exceptional life do not take on others problems and don't take on blame that is not yours

I was sorry to hear that you're cancelling got delayed and I'm praying that the time will go by quickly or they can get you in sooner

Happy: your post made me laugh as I was reading it because I could feel your mind just going on every other place you would say a word and it would remind you of something else you say sentence you remember something else I know it's not funny when it's happening to you but it was funny to read so thank you for the smile in my day.

Ceejay: I can't believe it's been a year since you retired look at all the busy things you have done since then and it seems like you're really enjoying your life now it's good that you continue to practice your music and we can't go back and make up for past time or last time all we can do is go forward and you're doing that be proud of that.

Enjoy your visit with I think it is your niece who is coming?

Laura: I think you are a very brave girl to ride a bicycle home from the train station at night I wouldn't even ride a bicycle down my street at night. It sounds like your boyfriend is getting things taken care of with the bathroom remodel hopefully that will all be done soon and you can start enjoying it,

We are supposed to close on the refinance of our home and home equity loan in a week or two once we started talking the home equity loan we wanted to take out to get things done and pay for the air conditioner and all the other little upgrade projects they asked us if they could take a look at our mortgage and see about refinancing that so they given us a great rate and it knocks off 8 years on our current mortgage and only raises the payment by $50 a month so we decided to go with that. I'll be glad when all about is over so I can get these projects done I've got my contractor on standby.

Shad: with all that you've got going on with the house Remodel and you're in busy life it is very nice of you to help the neighbor like you are you have a good soul,

How is Sunday the cat doing?

That is all for now I'll try to post tomorrow if I lost or gained at tops tonight I think I'm going to show a loss and hopefully it covers all that I gained last week and then some I worked hard for it this week not missing my workouts and being very very careful with my food and staying away from ice cream

happy2bme 09-08-2017 08:01 AM

Hi chickies,

Just a quick post for me this morning. Bingo was uneventful for the most part although we all started off scatter brained and had to guide one another through the parts others were forgetting or messing up. :dizzy: :dizzy: I am short about 24 dollars - the other fill in guy was having a hard time with taking money for the books while I was eating. And I am going to the shelter in a few minutes. I found out that the cat manager has 70 cats and no one but her to do the kennel cleaning today. We lost 2 regulars to injuries & surgery and the other helper went back to high school. You can't clean that much by yourself so even though my stomach is not ready for cat doo doo this early, I feel compelled to help out. I have to gulp my coffee and leave in 8 minutes so no time to post right now, be back later.

Hope you have a loss at Tops today Susie :crossed: Hello the the rest...

Laura705 09-08-2017 11:29 AM

Morning all. TGIF. Very fall-like today, though it’s a bit warmer than yesterday.

Ceejay – Try not to have regrets over what you cannot change (the past). Easy to say, hard to do. Just enjoy playing keyboard/organ and the benefits you get out of it. I’m sure it’s really good for your brain! == I hope you enjoy the visit with your niece from Maryland. Is that one of the relatives you visited the spring?

Annie – Hope your PTO day goes well! Enjoy your weekend too.

Happy – LOL you’re a year off in age – see how it’s really all in your head? == You don’t have your papers?! I thought everyone would have gotten a passport or passport card when you-know-who took office, hahaha. Just curious, have you ever travelled outside the US? == Glad your cousins in FL got out of the state. == Yep, getting dark quite early now. I’ll need to carry my front and rear lights for the bike with me to have for the short pedal home from the train station. I know where the front one is…need to dig up the rear one. == How was the spaghetti & meatballs? == You’re a good person to give the HS a hand with the cats. That’s a lot of cats!

Shad – You’re a great friend to help your peeps get to their appointments and keep them on track. All the while busy as heck with the bathroom reno, which sounds like bathroom, hall, laundry room, and a bedroom too?? :faint:

Susie – How did TOPS go last night? == Yeh, the short weeks sometimes end up not really feeling so short! == Re the ride home at night – thank goodness it was short, and I'm lucky the leaves haven’t fallen and been piled on the street along the curb for sweeping. I’d have been on the sidewalk all the way home!! == Unfortunately, the work bf is doing is for my mom’s place, LOL. I need to nag him about a few things that need doing around OUR house, hehe. == Wow, a lot of financial stuff going on – great to refi your mortgage and shorten the term!!

--
Nothing much to report. No exercise again last night, and we went out for half-price burgers to boot. I’ll work out this weekend for sure.

My friend B cancelled on our plans to get together tomorrow. We were either going cycling or canoeing. Oh well, another time. Maybe I’ll go for a cycle by myself. I’ve only been out a couple times this summer.

On Sunday my SIL is hosting a gathering for the Bears game. Also happens to be the date that she and my brother would have celebrated 40 years of marriage. But he’s been gone since 2008, so it’s a bit sad. Anyway, I’ll be going to that. BF doesn’t like my SIL, or my sister’s husband, so he isn’t going. Sigh. I don’t see myself staying for the entire game. We’ll see.

As for things to look forward to…. The boss and 2nd will be out for three days next week starting Wednesday. :carrot: I’ll have to plan something fun for myself because if that’s all I’m looking forward to these days, it’s sort of pathetic, LOL.

Okay, enough rambling and back to work. Hope the boss stays in his office today. Yesterday he was in the cube next to mine, rummaging through some boxes we’d called back from offsite storage, and then he was rummaging through file drawers. This was easily something he could have delegated, but did he?? Nope. And I can’t say I’m sorry he didn’t. This ancient history we deal with is never going to die. Anyway, he’s probably trying to see if he can run the department singlehandedly and kick the rest of us to the curb…

Okay, NOW I’m signing off. Have a good weekend! TTFN.

happy2bme 09-09-2017 10:42 AM

Good morning all,

Trying to do a reboot starting today to get myself back on track again in many aspects of my life. The shelter demands are just becoming too many. I can't do everything, need to focus on what's most important starting with my needs.

Watching the hurricane approach - I hope and pray those people got out and to those who stayed, God help them. They showed a thing on the news with a guy by a wind machine. He could barely stay upright in Category 2 winds - much less a strong 4 or weak 5. I don't think people realize that the frame and stucco type homes in that region - that kind of wind and rain will literally rip their homes apart and there are many who live in trailer parks. And then the rain - DH was talking to someone up here who said they'd ride it out - he said WHAT do you think it would be like here if we got 20 to 30 inches of rain all at once??? AND we have the drainage for it - eventually. Scary Mary.

Anyway I am going to try and focus as much as I can with things I need to do this weekend and to get ready for our trip next week. I will try to keep my detours minimal.

Laura - I liked the spaghetti sauce DH made but he made the meatballs with ground veal (which I don't like to eat for ethical reasons). The meatballs were too mushy for my tastes - DH agreed. They had a whole bunch of kittens yesterday - I was cleaning the kitten room. It was really funny - adorable. Like the babies of all the cats we have ever had. :D Have a great time at work for Boss No Be Here Day  I know the excitement that can bring to oneself. :D :D :D Can't stop smiling, almost as good a feeling as early dismissal but not quite that good. Sounds like great weather to go out on the bicycle - I hope you can get a ride in over the weekend. Always nice to be in the woods on the trails in autumn.

Ceejay - hope you have a nice weekend with the family members.

Susie - good luck with the home projects. It's nice to make plans to get some of that big stuff done. Nice that you can cut down the duration of your payments too. How did you do at TOPS?

Shad - welcome to "retirement" Sounds like your social calendar is filling quickly. So nice of you to help out others in need. You are a good friend and neighbor. Is it a blessing or a curse that you are now home and have plenty of time to work on the renovations? No shortage of things to do - you will find your days filling quickly.

Annie - hope you are doing well yourself

I have to go count money and get to the bank to make the bingo deposit. Take care everyone - have a good weekend.

Shad 09-10-2017 05:56 AM

Evening all,
Happy, I need a reboot too. All that weight I lost before Easter seems to have come back. More discipline required.

Quiet day today. Been baking and repotting and poisoning some of the stumps. My trip to the Doctor with Chris turned into an all day affair at the hospital. Finally got home around 5pm instead of the anticipated 10am. Another dizzy attack. So I didn't get to see much of my neighbour. However we went out to a discussion on ponds in the garden on Saturday and had lunch together and then went to a nursery and got some cheap plants. My neighbour was due to go to the hospital today and she decided I didn't need to go with her. However I don't think the appointment went very well since she was pretty down when I checked up on her. Apparently couldn't finish the MRI before claustrophobia hit. I'll get over there tomorrow after walking the dog.

Been watching the progress of IRMA. She seems to be a real *****. Hurricane season seems to be progressing fast up your way. When I checked the radar for IRMA it seems it will spread into Ceejay territory. Stay safe Ceejay.

Annie - hope things are improving for you and the family.

Laura - hows the foot going? I thought you were all over that.

Susie - How did you go at TOPS? I'm going to have to reboot with Happy. How come weight goes on quicker than it goes off?

Anyway, it's time for my shower and an early bed. Ruger will arrive at around 6.00am tomorrow and he will be ready for the day. Hopefully so will I.

Laura705 09-10-2017 12:29 PM

Morning all. Another lovely day here. Such a contrast to the news reports about H. Irma. Awful.

Happy - Yes, take care of your needs first. What good will you be to the HS or the senior center if you don't take care of yourself?? == Are you prepared for your getaway yet? == Yup, I did get out for a bike ride yesterday. :)

Shad - Wow that was a long day with Chris at the doctor. :faint: == Are you thinking about a pond in your garden? = Re the foot - I've had a few times over the past few months that I thought I was finally turning the corner, but i guess i was premature. Right now is another time that I'm cautiously optimistic. :crossed:

Hellos to the rest of you. Hope you're all having a good weekend.
=
Yesterday I did a couple Body Electric workouts in the morning. Went out to lunch at the middle eastern place. Late in the afternoon, I got the bike rack on the car and the bike on the rack and went off to a local bike trail for a ride. Made the loop and the map said it was 7.3 miles. Lovely day for it and ended up not needing my windbreaker. I hope to get out several more times this fall to ride on a couple different trails, since I've ridden this one twice so far. And maybe by the 2nd or 3rd time going I'll finally have the way to put the rack on the car trunk and the bike on the rack firmly entrenched in my brain! :D

Today I'm going to watch the Bears season opener at my SIL'S place. One of my nephews is up from TX (Dallas area), so it will be nice to see him. Bf was at home Depot yesterday, close to Costco, so he picked up a couple appetizers for me to bring. I wanted to bake some cookies to bring, but thought better of it as they just don't go well with beer, lol.

I better sign off and get myself ready to go.

annie175 09-11-2017 08:18 AM

It was an emotional roller coaster weekend to say the least.

The kid's babysitter from 6 weeks of life to kindergarten at 6 years old passed away from 7 years of suffering alzheimers. Samantha and I cried over that a couple of times. Then we cried over Michael a couple of times (cleaning out a closet and finding pics). Then Chris told us that Ainsley is moving to Colorado with her mother in December. So Sam cried over that because the boy's will be devastated, they love their sissy so much. And Sam loves that little girl like her own. Life is just stinking right now.

I know get out of my own head. Look at the devastation in FL. Praying for my friends who live there. We still have not heard how Cs parents winter place held up. Granted it is about an hour or so from the closest coast. However the dang hurricane did not leave anyone out. Praying for so many things and people it is hard to do anything else.

We cleaned out the dvd/toy/Bruno room. Got 4 bags of huge 33 gallon bags of trash out. C painted the room a lovely blue for the boys. I will say C did a fabulous job as he is an awesome painter. He spackled, trimmed out and painted the room in about a total of 5 hours over Saturday and Sunday. The boys are so excited to be getting their own room. Looks like Sam and the boys are here to stay. Why would I think differently? June was a year. Anyway we ended up having 16 file boxes of dvds alone. We are chancing it by storing them in the attic. Frankly I don't give a hoot if they melt or break. We kept out all the kid movies and the Christmas (sorry for using the C word) movies. Probably about 100-150 total. We either need to paint the ceiling fan panels or get a new one. It has pastel pink, blue and yellow panels with little flowers. It was a babies room prior to me living there. I am sure the boys could give a hoot at this time. My friend Leanne gave us a free full size bed as they sold their huge home and downsized to a 2 bedroom condo. So we have enough beds to go around.

I did manage to make a Keto meatloaf, keto pork loin and then had pork loin manhattens from the leftover pork. I only ate the meat as the potatos and bread are not keto.

Posting this now as I need to do a couple of things. I will try to get back in a few for personals.

annie175 09-11-2017 09:22 AM

Back for a minute...

HAPPY...hope you impending trip with DH goes well. Get some rest for me too. My mind is on overload. How did Bingo go? Take care of you first before all the volunteer stuff lady. That is an order.

SHADDIE...that was a long day with your neighbor at the doc. You are a good soul and friend.

LAURA...It is certainly tough when a S.O. does not like our family. Or even tougher when the family does not like S.O. as in first marriage once they found out what an idiot he was. Life struggles. Your bike ride sounded lovely.

SUSIE...How did TOPS go? Hope all went well on your refinance.

CEEG....pounding away at the keyboards?

Sorry this is so short, lots on my plate here at work and at home.

Hugs ladies.

happy2bme 09-11-2017 11:00 AM

Hi all,

Got into an argument with DH yesterday. I had to go to the thrift shop for a couple of hours yesterday. The books are mess - not enough people to help out. I spent 2 hours there but didn't get a ton done. We have lots of empty shelves but are overloaded with books in the back. It's overwhelming and frankly I am tired of being pulled from all ends. Just have to turn away and leave it be. My partner returned and I was able to hand off the bingo stuff to him. Told him we are going away for a few days and that I'd see him most likely at bingo. My friend who runs the shelter called and asked if we wanted to join her and her hubby (DH's fishing buddy) for a boat ride yesterday with a stop at a local great pizza place. Sounded wonderful as it was a beautiful Indian summer last hurrah kind of day. DH asked me to pick up some raw hamburger for the cat so I picked up a few groceries and made a quick guacamole and some fresh fruit to take on the pontoon. We had a great ride - started to see some color from the shore as well as eagles, loons and mallard ducks. It was nice and quiet on the lake - we were the only ones out there. We started out at 5:30 and didn't get to the pizza place until 7:30. By 8pm the sun has set so it was pitch dark when we went back to their house. That was not the most comfortable ride for me - driving when you can't see anything but lights on the shore. I tried not to think about how disorienting it would be to fall into the water when you can't see which way is up  But still it was a nice enjoyable day. Today will be busy getting ready for our trip. It was supposed to be warm and sunny and now the closer we get to it, the rain is moving in. So far it's holding to Thursday when we return, the weekend should be awful - so glad we decided to go mid week. Not much color up that way yet. It's really hard to time the colors.

Annie - so sorry that you are having such losses in your life. Always hard to lose a dear one. Even tougher as we age because so many more of the people we know are aging too and health issues take their tolls. Also tough for the boys to lose their sister. That is one very real downside to today's blended families. And the boys are so young it's difficult to understand. :( Looks like you are doing renovations of your own. It's good of you to make the space in your house, I know it must be crowded. I grew up in a small 2 bedroom house where 3 people could not walk without bumping into each other. It's just hard to get some alone time. Work will have to be your alone time :dizzy: Or maybe just your car. Thank you for the reminder to look after myself. You do the same

Laura - how did the game go yesterday? Did you stay long? What do you eat at the middle Eastern restaurant?

Shad - I'm all in with your regarding the reboot. I always find this time of year (summer into autumn) to be the hardest for weight loss. The body wants to hold on to extra calories for the upcoming winter months. But it can be done. Apple and cranberry season are just around the corner. I'm not much on pumpkin but the deer are looking forward to their treat. They love pumpkin. Are you back to dog sitting Ruger?

Ceejay - will you catch any of the remnants of Irma? We spent some time watching the hurricane news. I have family and friends with places around Tampa - I hope all of their homes will be ok as well as them.

Waiting for your check in Susie.

I'd better get to work. I have a long list of things to do.

ceejay52 09-11-2017 11:03 AM

Good morning,
Good grief is all I can say about high maintenance children who grow up to be high maintenance adults.

Annie
I am with the rest of the chicks, you are not a bad wife.

Happy
When are you leaving for your trip? You deserve this one. I hear you on the pain waking you during sleep. I hate to take pain meds other than Aleve.

Laura
Good for you in doing the DVD video's I miss going to the gym. but I can't plan anything with the niece staying at my/her house. Her mom is supposed to get her today. However, neither of us have heard from this morning.

Shad
I can vouch for retirement being more busy that in my working day. I wonder why that is?!

-----------
As I've mentioned earlier that I haven't heard from the niece. Told me last night that she would be here sometime this morning. And that may be 11.59 a.m.
Yesterday was church and then to sis's house for lunch. Brought my niece back to my house and a friend picked her up and not
Seeing all of the scenes from Florida is devastating.
The weather people are saying no rain from Irma just clouds.
Heard from nice shes coming at 11.30.

Laura705 09-11-2017 12:59 PM

Morning all. Happy Monday.

Annie – Oh, not a happy weekend for you – and S and the boys either. It will be hard for them to not see Riley anymore. :( == Well, if S and the boys are going to be in your house permanently, it sure makes sense to maximize the space. It’ll be nice for the boys to have a space of their own.

Happy – You certainly sound like you’re at a breaking point with the thrift shop work. Is DH feeling that way (about your work) also?? I’m glad you’ll have a short break from it all this week. == I hope the weather holds for your getaway! :crossed: Safe travels! == I’m glad you had a nice day boating. Quiet time in nature sounds wonderful! = At the Middle Eastern restaurant, we usually order lamb kebob sandwiches, which are gound lamb that’s been seasoned & grilled, served in a pita pocket with lettuce and tomato, which we top with tahini and hot sauce. We also order baba ganough (sp?), which is sort of like hummus, but it also has eggplant in it. And we also order a few falafel (fried ground chickpea balls). Yum.

Ceejay – How long will your niece be staying with you? == Yes, it was rough watching the damage being done to Florida by Irma. And they might still have H. Jose to deal with later in the week. I’m glad your area won’t have to deal with any remnants of Irma weather.

Hellos to Susie and Shad.
==
The game day at my SIL’s was nice. I didn’t watch any of the game, LOL. Spent time looking at wedding photos from forty years ago and talking with my sister. I stayed for the whole game and then some.

When I got home, bf and I went to the produce market. Among other items, we bought some deli meats/cheese, and I made some sandwiches for my work lunches and wrapped & froze them.

That’s about it for me. Nothing going on this week so far. Have a good day everyone. :)

Shad 09-11-2017 06:05 PM

Morning all,
Dog free today and for the rest of the week. Rascal is turning into Houdini and escaping from his confined spaces. DS2 got woken in the middle of the night by a phone call from the breeder of the dog who had a phone call from a vet several suburbs away from DS2. He had somehow got through 2 fences and went wandering. Got picked up by some lovely people who knew some people who had German Shepherd dogs and thought it might be one of theirs. Turns out their shepherds are related to our shepherd. Anyway they took him to the vet who ran the microchip and came up with the breeders name. Rung the breeder. She had forgotten to get the chip changed and so she had to ring DS2. She was apparently not very impressed! Given that they both work, it seems I will be on doggy day care for sometime to come. Still, I can live with it. Until I decide to take a break.

Annie - good on you for clearing out the house and getting some space for you all to live in. It must be a stressful time. I know it was with me when I had 3 adults in this house and not enough room. As for Ainslie going out to Colorado and the boys missing her, you could always set up Skype and get together and chat every so often. I have to do this with Miss S and DS1 and partner. It's not a miracle cure, but at least we get to be in touch and see each other. And at some point in time Sam may move out and get a place of her own. Then you will have to deal with just he and she! You do need some space of your own and you will have to find it. You are not a bad person for taking time out or stating that the kitchen is closed because of illness (the cook is sick of cooking). I did. They foraged for themselves on a Friday.

Happy - Glad you got out on a fishing trip. Would do you both the world of good. That shelter is sucking the life out of you. Hope you have a wonderful time on your trip away. I started some walking exercise today. Usually I take the dog out for a walk while he is here, but he's not back this week so I have to do things for my self. Might try a CD tomorrow and see how that goes. I would have thought that all the stuff I do during the day would have been sufficient but apparently not and I will have to cut back on food as well.

Ceejay - It seems that when we retire we decide to do all the things we never had time for while working and we decided to do them all at once :lol3: Silly us. Hope you enjoy the having the niece around.

Laura - Love produce markets. Good on you for making ahead your lunches. No excuses now for not eating well. Sounds like fun looking at all those old photos. How young we were.

Okay, time on computer is up. I am determined to achieve my list today. So I am off to sand and prime the doorways and windows in the bathroom, and then maybe I can post some photos, then the bathroom needs a clean, and I have to finish poisoning the tree stumps from the hedge that I cut down. I need to mow the lawns and poison some weeds and run the vacuum around the place. Sunday the cat needs a cuddle apparently so I had better go sort out my day.

happy2bme 09-12-2017 08:02 AM

Quick hi and bye - talk to you in a few days  Hold the fort down ladies :D

annie175 09-12-2017 10:46 AM

HAPPY...Safe travels and enjoy yourself, DH also!

SHADDIE...skype sounds wonderful in a perfect world with Ainsley and the boys. Her mother does not like Samantha so I hardly think she will put Ainsley first and let her skype. Good thought though. IS YOUR HAIR GROWING IN NICELY???

LAURA...sounds like a nice time at your SILs. Glad you stayed and enjoyed yourself. mmmmm, the produce market. Gotta love that.

CEEG...Did niece arrive finally? We are to have some rain from Irma but only rain. Nothing too terrifying.

*******************

Samantha colored my hair last night. It grows so fast these days. Thursday evening is trim cut with my lady.

Wednesday is the viewing for babysitter. 5:00 to 8:00pm The graveside service will be private on Thursday. We will go to the viewing only. Just so sad. She taught my kids all the age 1 to 5 things they needed to know to start kindergarten. We (ex dh and I) also did things with them outside of the babysitting. They were a fun couple. She will be missed by many. Heart of gold she had.

Jacob lost his second tooth last night. Now the two front bottom teeth are missing and one adult bottom tooth has already started to grow in. Jacob was so excited because it came out just before bed time. I have not checked with Sam yet to see if the tooth fairy came or had memory lapse. lol. Fall break for Jacob is just around the corner. Man where is time going? Fall break is October 9th through the 20th, two weeks. We didn't even have a fall break when we went to school. Guess that is why they go back to school so early in July. Please people give them a summer.

Had a bad afternoon with my head yesterday. Got home and realized I had not taken my meds for the day. I will blame it on that and not on all the crazy stuff going on in my life and in the world. I have to talk myself out of crap all day long.

Best get to work. Two CCs today. Lucky me. NOT.

Hugs

ceejay52 09-12-2017 11:38 AM

I will try again. I get messages stating that either 3fc is not responding or that IE has stopped working.
My sis, bil, and niece went to nephew's softball game last night. It was a good game. They pulled from behind to win by 9 runs.
Went shopping yesterday with sis and niece. I didn't buy any thing cause they didn't have a good selection in my size. I did buy a pair of shoes at Shoe Carnival.
My niece is with sis for the rest of the week.
We are going to Branson tonight to see a show called Moses.
Will

Happy
When do you leave for your vacation? How nice of your friend to invite you for a ride on the pontoon.

Hello's to Laura, Shad, Susie and Annie.

Laura705 09-12-2017 11:53 AM

Morning all.

Shad – How fortunate it was for doggy to be tracked back to ds2! I hope the chip is in the process of being registered to DS. Great that you can take on doggy day care duties for a bit, but it seems ds needs to Houdini-proof his premises. And when you’re not doing doggy day care for them, they need to hire a dogsitter/walker and/or bring doggy to a doggy day care facility. == Great idea for Ainsley and the boys to keep in touch via skype. == Good for you getting back to the walking, even without doggy to keep you company. == Good luck with getting through your list! Especially the cat –cuddling. :)

Happy – Safe travels and enjoy yourself.

Annie – I now realize I said Riley instead of Ainsley yesterday, though Riley is another blended family member – on bf’s side of the family. ;) == Fall break – we never had that when I was in school either. But then again, I don’t recall going back to school as early as J did. We returned before Labor Day, but not even a full week before that. And these days, the Chicago Public Schools still don’t start until after Labor Day, unlike suburban schools that start around mid-August. == I dunno, it’s probably good to spread out the breaks so the kids aren’t so ingrained in a long summer break. I know that makes me sound like a big grump, but it sure was an adjustment getting out into the real world and working year-round with no summer break... Sounds like you have wonderful memories of the babysitter. My condolences to you and your kids.

Hellos to Ceejay and Susie.

I did one Body Electric workout last night. Dinner was salad, rotisserie chicken, and tater tots.

A bit crabby today. We’ve had turnover with a firm we use and the transition isn’t going all that well. But I’ve experienced worse, so we’ll give it some time and patience. We have a conference call with them in a bit, and I’ll be glad to get that over with. And then the day will be almost half over, yay for that.

That’s about it for me, so I’ll get this posted. :comp:

Hi Everyone,

Work is off the chain this week and my personal life seems to be as well.

I can report a 2.4 lbs loss on Thursday last week so that was good.

Sorry for no personals right now. I did read through the posts.

Anne: i just wanted to say "hang in there" lady. I'm praying for you and sending you good vibes and love. I'm sorry for the loss of the babysitter who is also a friend. It is hard to lose people we love. One day there will be no more sorrow....won't that be amazing?!

Ceejay: It sounds like you are having a nice visit with the niece and doing fun things with the rest of the family.

Happy: Fingers crossed for your trip on Thursday; you need a get-a-way!

Shad: You are the home project queen. You should get someone to film you and maybe you could do one of those DIY shows! Did Sunday the cat enjoy her cuddle time? I miss my kitty, Hudda Budda and cuddling with him. We might be getting close to the time of thinking about getting another one sometime in the future.

Laura: While you didn't watch much football it sounds like you had a nice time with your sister. I hope the conference call with the law firm went well. Change is never smooth.

Ok..I'm out of here and heading home. I just got off hold with travel as I needed to make changes to a Asia trip for my manager.

Wet, dreary day is not going to get me!! Irma's aftermath has hit Indiana. Nothing serious like the hurricane, just an all night/day steady rain. Sadly, we needed it. Our grass is brown and ugly. I don't care about that really. Less mowing.

Dinner was Garlic butter baked chicken. So yummy. Served with cheddar rice the others ate and California mix veggies. Very delicious. All the family liked it. The night before I made a bacon cheeseburger casserole. So yummy also. All keto recipes the family likes. Sure makes it easier for me. Kind of eat what I eat or nothing at all. lol.

Tonight is the viewing for Lou (the babysitter). It is so sad. She was only 72. D*mn alzheimer. H*ll getting old. Everyone around you dies and we are left to selfishly mourn. We should be happy they get to experience the Lord and heaven. I pray no one is born with same emotions that I carry. It is hard on the heart. No wonder I had a heart attack two years ago.

SUSIE...congrats on the lbs down. Now you are heading back in the right direction...Work is always so crazy for you. I don't know how you stay sane through it all. Hugs

LAURA...Riley-Ainsley, I got what you meant. lol. Hope your day goes better at work. No crabbiness.

CEEG...I love watching softball, especially when it is girls fast pitch. Sam used to play. How was Moses? I need to experience Branson sometime. Never done that.

HAPPY...safe travels.

SHADDIE...working like a dog!

Hello to all.

Hugs

Morning all.

Ceejay – You were typing over my head yesterday and I missed your post. Sounds like you’re having fun with the family. How was the show last night?

Susie – Another fantastic loss – keep up the good work!! == You’re always so busy at work – your days must fly by!

Annie – It’s been a dreary day here too, but not much rain. Forecast is for it to be a bit sunny this afternoon. :crossed: == Sad about Lou, 72 is young these days. It never occurred to me that mourning is selfish, but I guess it is, and it's not even something you can control. Memorial services and viewings are specifically for those left behind, so don’t feel negative about it. And it's not all about us - we celebrate that person’s life and share our special memories of them. We’re all thankful that someone is no longer suffering and has gone to a better place and is with those who have passed before him/her.

Hellos to Shad & Happy.

Last night I did a workout dvd. It was a core workout using the big exercise ball. It was longer than I thought it would be, but each move went really quick, so I liked it.

No boss in the office today, so no crabbiness. :D This afternoon is our office’s summer outing. The venue is about a mile from the office and the description is: “New American spin on British food served in an upscale restaurant with 2 bars & riverfront views.” I hope the weather clears up and we can enjoy the river views.

Have any of you done anything as a result of the Equifax data breach? I supposedly have free credit monitoring through my AAA membership, which is with a company related to Experian, but I haven’t been able to access their site the past few days. That’s a concern… I’m considering freezing my credit with the credit reporting agencies. Susie, I know you use a service like Lifelock – have they advised you to do anything special??

That's about it for me. Have a good day everyone. ;)

Hello

Niece is wanting to come spend the night with me and am supposed to meet her on Chestnut in Springfield. Im not sure whether or not her mom is willing to bring her in.
The production of Moses was great.
Andy brought the boys over this morning. Theyve both had fevers this week. The oldest had a wellness doctors visit and both boys were going for haircuts.
Im on my phone so i will skip personals for tomorrow.

Good Lord help me. I woke up with an attitude. Will be back in a few.

ceejay52 09-14-2017 09:21 AM

Good morning,
Waiting on my niece again. She spent the night with a friend. She will spend the night with her brother. This week has worn me to a frazzle.

Annie
Sending good vibes and love your way.

More later.

Morning all. Another day that's started off foggy and gray. But the temps are mild, so that's nice. I think it's going to be very summer-like for at least the next week. I'll try to savor it, even if it does end up being a bit too warm for my liking...

Ceejay – You sound like you’ve had more than enough activity for the week. :faint: A day or two of “Ceejay time” is definitely in order!

Annie – I take it this is an attitude that will not do you any good. I hope it fades as the day goes.

Happy – Hope you’re having a nice restful getaway.

Shad – How’s your week going? Gotten enough dog walks and cat cuddling?

Susie – Hope the WI goes well tonight!

The summer outing was nice, the venue was roomy with plenty of seating. The outside area overlooking the river was a bit small. But it never did get sunny, and it was a cool damp/humid kind of day, so I didn’t feel bad about sitting inside with a few other women from the office. The food wasn’t all that exciting, but it was tasty – slider-type sandwiches with a choice of burger, crispy chicken, pulled pork and a vegetarian option. Homemade chips. Some appetizers brought around by servers. I skipped the chips and had the chicken and pork and took the top bun off of both. It was a nice little break from the office.

Last night I froze my credit file with Equifax, but wasn’t able to do it for the other two credit agencies. Either the sites were bogged down by high volume and/or it couldn’t match my info to their records, which is annoying. If their system can’t match it exactly as I give it to them, it should be able to take into account the abbreviations, punctuation, and spaces and be able to do it. But I guess if their system isn’t smart enough to do that, then I can certainly see how it can get hacked into. Anyway, I’ll try the other two again at lunchtime.

That’s about it for me. Make it a great day!! :dizzy:
