Daphne I'm so thankful that it all went well. How long will it be before yo uknow it worked or not? Was that you that called me earlier today? Logan was on the computer and someone called from longview and he didn't tell me that someone was calling so I had no idea. If it was I'm sorry I missed you but glad you were able to post. That's neat that it was outpatient as well. Was there a big incision? Take care.

Yes Dana it was me. I will jjustt ry and call another day don't worry about it. Megan has an incisomn on her neck and under her arm pit area. We go in 2 weeks to turn it on. She is groggy but that is all. Not much pain that we can tell either.

Hello Everyone.. Its been a busy day today..The morning didnt start off to good..They had to shut off the water for awhile to repair a leak..I am really tired of this happening but nothing we can do but live with it..So I got a late start due to no shower untlll noon..Then it was off to get Jims TC Scan pictures and a few things at Walmart..Went to Costco for some Chickens..Rotisseree ones they were all out and I could not wait untill they cooked more..I will go early and get some..before we go to the Chemo Doctor tomorrow..I have laundry to do and get our Beach Chairs out of storage and suitcases..so I am getting excited..but Isabel is really worring me..I sure hope that she fizzels out soon.. I dont want anyone to face her wrath...I wish these things didnt happen..but they do and no one has controll over where they will land..All I can do is pray they dont harm anyone..
Jim's Birthday was fun for him.. He got so many calls ans cards..He said he felt really special that all these wonderful people took the time to wish him well on his BD...We went to Uno's for dinner....Thats where he wanted to go.I thought he would want the steakhouse..but he said he wanted Uno's beeftips...He said they are the best....It was great food..I wanted to get him a gift and he asked me not to..He wants to get something at MB..so I said ok.. I did how ever get him a bag of his favorite candy along with his card....He was like a little kid..He loved it..:lol:..
It rained real hard while we were at dinner and more of the same is suppose to be tomorrow..I have alot of things to do this week..It seems that things always come when you have something else to do..but thats life I guess :lol:

Summer you post these thorough posts to everyone, everyday. It tires me out to read a paragraph to each person. You are such a delight girlfriend. What hotel are yall staying at? I would call down there on thursday to be sure they will allow yall in before making the trip. I know you probably can hear that much on the news but you never know. It could hit the border of NC and SC and it may go on up even further but it looks to me like the outerbands are nearly on our coast as it is. You probably won't notice a difference with MB's winds anyway. I bet it's beautiful down there. How long do you plan to be gone? As for brett, his sugar was 242 this morning. It's NEVER been that high in the morning before breakfast. I'm wondering if it's high because he's still on antibiotics. I'm going to email the nurse practitioner to see what she thinks. He had a good number at bedtime lastnight but for the most part, he's still on the higher end in his tests.

Daphne I'm glad she is doing so well. When you get the time maybe you can explain how that works. I'd like to know more about it. Does it have a lot of success rates? I guess it has to beat that ketogenic diet anyway. So they have like a wire or something ran from one incision to the other. My dad will have something similiar to that done early next month. His device will be under the skin in his back and 2 electronic wires ran into his spine into a nerve that's pinched. His worked real well for his pain. I think it's interesting what can be done to help seizures though. I'm sorry I missed your call.

Hi to donna, kris, glen, and anyone else missed. I've got to run eat a bite for breakfast. DH is gone to cut his mom's grass and he just informed me that he has another job to do starting tomorrow. I enjoy my alone time though. BTW we did take the boys to the football game on friday. We lost 21 to 0 but it's a team that normally beats us 60 to 0 and it was only 7 to 0 halftime so it was a good game. It was non-conference so it didn't hurt them anyway. Logan was so funny. He had never been to one and brett has but he was 2 about the last time he did. Logan's first question was "where is the blimp"? :lol: Then he wouldn't quit watching the cheerleaders. DH had to keep telling him where the game was. :lol: One time the cheerleaders did a pyramid and they all landed their dismounts and logan stood up and clapped and at the same moment the opposing team scored. We had to tell him that wasn't a good thing and he said but they all landed and didn't fall down. He yelled one time "let the cheerleaders play". :lol: We got so tickled over that. DH had 2 friends back in highschool that were boy cheerleaders. They weren't "gay" or anything but could out do the girls in somersaults and such and really made that team look awesome. There are a lot of guys who do that now.

Well I will try to post later on but I need to get some more things going here. These school days really fly and I wouldn't be suprised if the school doesn't call today around lunch time about brett's sugar.

Daphne, so glad Megan did well with the surgery yesterday. I can imagine you are exhausted. I pray for speedy results and recovery. How are you managing to stay OP through all this? It would be very difficult for me.

Kris, We are right along with you and to me all of us are already barbie dolls! We just have a different look than the traditional one! LOL It will not take you long with your motivation and determination to get right back in with your walking, journaling and drinking water. ;)

Glen, hello! :wave: I was reading a tip on somewhere that we should buy the frozen meals when you can because the portion sizes are the right amount. Although if you are watching the sodium content they can blow you out of the water. But, I'm finding that is a struggle of mine is size of portions. I don't always measure things out and eye them and maybe that is another reason why I gained last week on top of the muscle increasing. Just a little suggestion. :)

My weigh in is tomorrow and you all may be aware. I have not exercised at the gym all week but did some intense activities at home with house blessing and carpet cleaning. So, that does count. Anyway keep your fingers :crossed: for a better weigh in for me tomorrow although with the rest of you all are facing today my weigh in is very trivial. Still watching the hurricane and even though it's been downgraded to a category 3 still is a dangerous storm. I just pray that IF it hits land it will not be as damaging as we all fear. My sil lives on the Jersey shore and it could even hit there as well as those people we stayed with while there with the nice boat. In fact, Jim just spoke with them yesterday and they are very concerned about it coming their way.

Donna thanks for reminding me to get with that nurse. I've totally forgotten and I will ask her in a minute. I wanted to mention to you that back when tracy posted on here she had encountered that same issue with kim being online and not posting on here. From what I recall, it was one of her sons when tracy tried to chat with them they said it wasn't their mom. I guess they all sign on using that one name. All my family does. Maybe you could ask them how she is? And see who responds or ignores you. :lol: I've heard people try to IM me but I don't even have that installed anymore. it shows I'm online but I don't have a way of replying right now. That happened when I had that worm and I"ve never fixed it back to IM on there.

Anyway, I need to run and email someone right quick but was checking in to see if rosey or summer had an update.

We are so relieved with this news...I started crying with joy when the doctor said that...Jim did too...I cant tell you all how those words made me feel.. I just wanted you all to know that as you all have made this journey more bareable..

Hello everyone.. isnt that the best news about summers jim..i share in their joy..on our home front we just got back from the big meeting with mydh bosses..hes a welder at an oil refinery and when we got the letter from his dr saying he couldnt do his job any more..that about said it all.. the rest was just a formality..my dh is sad and depressed but its nothing we didnt expect.. we are just going down a different road now.. and mybe its will be better.. he is officially classified as disabled..and will not be returning to work..his long term disability will be some what less than what he gets now.. but we get to keep his medical and life insurance..he can collect this aslong as he needs to and it counts towards his retirement..i was so nervous at this meeting..but am releaved it s over and the tension has gone.. we have tons of paper work to fill out..i can deal with anything when i can see whats in front of me..the most important thing is that my dh gets better..i also want to thank all of you for being there for me..i couldnt have gone thru all this without all of you to listen and hold my hand..i truly needed you all ..so thankyou soooooooo much..will keep you all in my heart..:encore: :love: :encore:..rosey :wave:

Mixed emotions yesterday. On the up side is Summer's Jim free of cancer and on the down side is Rosey's Steve is not able to go back to his job.

I'm truly sorry, Rosey but I do believe you were expecting just what happened. Always will be here to hold your hand. So with that some things are not changing. :grouphug: I hope Steve isn't too down about this, I know how retirement effects some men but when it's a "forced" retirement then it does make a difference. My prayers and love are with you.

Donna I had missed the "pole day" thing. I saw the kids as they broke out of their prayer circle this morning and I was thinking it was this evening. You know prayer on school grounds is illegal so I thought they had to do it when school wasn't going on. I would have liked to have joined it. There was a good many kids there though. Donna tell me more about your version of WW. You don't attend meetings do you? You pay online or something. I'd like to try that but like I said before, I don't use credit cards anymore and the least amount of money involved the better. That would mean for me, probably, no meetings at this point. With all the advice from you guys, I'd probably get the help I need to count points.

Summer I'm so thankful it's over for you guys. As for the hurricane, MB is under tropical storm warnings with winds around 75 mph right now. I think it will all be fine for you guys but I certainly would call to be sure it's ok to come on down there before you got too far. I don't know locally what they would be saying but I hope you guys can go and take some pictures and think of us. :)

Rosey a lot of people are dealing with early retirement for many reasons. My mom faced it with her employer of 35 years selling to another company. She's retiring from one job and is getting rehired through new company so she can draw retirement and her paycheck too. It's working to her advantage but wasn't looking that way not so many weeks ago. The new plant is a lot more computerized and mama set in her old ways of 35 years on the job, she froze when she heard that and they fazed out her job. She will move to another dept. Also my MIL is having rotator cuff surgery next monday and she was retired and went back to work in the same day cause of a 200 person layoff and they finally moved her. Now she's going to try workman's comp. and be out about 6 weeks and who knows what it will be after surgery. It all depends on the success of it. At any rate, the health of you DH is what's more important. You WILL have to find something for him to get out of your hair during day though want you?? :lol:

Brett's sugar seemed to have came down some lastnight and this morning it wasn't too bad, 177. I've seen worse and he finishes his antibiotics this evening. I will fax in his sugars on friday and let the dr. make changes if needed.

Well hi to everyone else out there. I've been to walmart, have a b-day party on friday and somebody will have to start on christmas shopping SOON if there is going to be any.
