1 hour jog Meals Berry drink Tofu Scramble Mock Chicken patty, pierogies Hope all went well with you and your tooth. Hope you get well soon! Guess you will be on a liquid diet for a few days, or just a soft food diet anyway. I spent the day working on taxes. Still a bit more to do, but getting closer to getting them done. Agility classes had a one month break and should be picking up again in April. Hope to get a bit more from them soon. https://bmicalculator.mes.fm/img/mem...umbnail-2.jpeg Tip of the Day: Make Healthy Living a Lifestyle While this may sound like just another overused cliché, there is actually a lot of meaning packed into. We can not expect to be healthy, both mentally or physically, if we view exercise or eating well as something we must force upon ourselves. This is because your body, and mind, have built-in defensive mechanisms against anything we internally don't want to do. This is usually expressed in the form of stress and goes beyond just health and fitness. Even in our work and social lives, when we have to force ourselves to wake up every morning to work, or force ourselves to get along with people around us, then this will not last too long. Thus the best way to become healthy is to make exercise and eating right a part of your lifestyle, or even more so, a part of who you are. How much a part of your life will depend on your personality and what you would like to accomplish. And the best way to incorporate this is by gradually adding new exercises or better eating habits to your daily routine, and from there allow yourself to figure out what works for you. If a certain exercise routine is not working for you, then change it, simple as that. That is why it is best to incrementally improve how you exercise and when, so that you can better assess if something works for you before you build upon it. Same thing goes with eating healthy, and in fact everything else in life. So make sure to always listen to your body and mind, because often they know things you don't! 2 hour walk Meals Egg omelet with mock sausage patties Mock Chicken patty with pierogies Bean burrito with guacamole and chips Congratulations Renee!! You are moving still in the right direction. It is funny how you make it sound like it isn't that big a deal, but every little bit counts. Great job! As for me.....well no loss here this week, but I haven't lost hope yet. I am counting on next week. Glad to hear that all went quickly for you with your tooth getting pulled. Hope it heals just as quickly. We went to a Home & Garden show today. It was very interesting. We are suppose to have someone come out and check out our basement and help us figure out how to fix it so it doesn't smell as moldy. Tomorrow is suppose to be Sunny here. We shall see. Won't be walking too much though. I think I am getting a shin splint in my one leg. Probably need to take it easy on it for a few days and keep it wrapped. Have a great Sunday! Tip of the Day: Being Thin Does Not Mean You Are Fit https://bmicalculator.mes.fm/img/mem...umbnail-2.jpeg This is a very important health tip that we should always keep in mind, even to the point of not bothering to weigh ourselves. The reason is that being thin does not always mean that you are you fit or healthy. This is because bodyweight is not the only thing that factors into being healthy. Many factors go beyond just you are outer appearance, and those are how strong your heart, lungs, and overall body and brain functions are. The other factor is muscle mass. If you are thin but lack in muscle, you may fit in the category of "skinny fat". This term comes from the fact that if you lack in muscle, regardless of your weight, your bodyweight must still be comprised of something, and often times that is in excess fat. Thus don't worry too much about how thin you are but rather use more accurate measures of health and fitness. Such measures could be simply how well you feel, or how much weights you can lift, or even how fast or long you can run for. Improving on these factors can go a long way in improving and maintaining your overall health! Source https://bmicalculator.mes.fm/health-...an-you-are-fit |

2 hour walk 1 hour walk Mowed grass, so more walking Meals Tofu scramble Chile Relleno Some Irish cheese slices Bean enchiladas, guacamole Today was a beautiful day. Started off cold, but got cold later. I was up to midnight last night, but I finished my taxes. Yeah. Slept in to around 0800, and then went for a walk. Went to the second church service today. A bit more crowded. Overall, a very nice day. Next weekend is your rummage sale. Are people getting excited about it? Guess you will be working with Steel for your next horse show. On rainy/muddy days, do you work with him in one of the barns? I hope you are successful this year with the Martins. Hope you had a nice Sunday. Wishing you an even better Monday. Tip of the Day: Maintaining Weight Loss Is Hard https://bmicalculator.mes.fm/img/mem...umbnail-2.jpeg Losing unnecessary weight is hard enough, but the real challenge is maintaining weight loss. This is because the body, and brain, has natural mechanisms to fight off against ANY change in weight. This is because the body gets used to whatever weight that you may have been for long periods of time. Such mechanisms include feeling much hungrier than usual as well as burning calories more efficiently to burn overall less calories. This means that if someone has been, for example, 200 pounds for many years and than suddenly loses 20 pounds, that person will feel hungrier and burn less calories than someone that has been 180 pounds for years. This can be summed up by your body getting "used to a certain body weight". But knowing this fact is important to always keep in mind when trying to maintain any healthy weight loss. Thus you should expect to feel hungrier, and also expect that you would need to eat less calories than others at the same weight body who have been at that weight for a long time. But the good thing is the your body will gradually adapt to the new body weight, and thus gaining weight becomes harder! This process also works in the reverse so if you want to gain more weight, expect it also to be difficult initially but gradually this will be come easier as your body gets used to the change. Yes, I've been working with Steel a bit. I can work some in the barn, but mostly in the stone driveway. I already have some tree swallows. That was fast! Have a great Monday! |

Must have been prepping for your Red Lobster meal. Happy Anniversary!!!! Tip of the Day: Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. – Ralph Waldo Emerson Every day, as soon as we wake, we have the opportunity to create something magical. No matter what transpires with outward forces, the only thing that really matters is your attitude toward your own world. You have the power to create or extinguish your own happiness. It starts with a positive thought that steadily grows to a natural disposition. It will further flourish and breed happiness in others because positivity is highly contagious. Simply choose to be happy, starting today. It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living. — F. I think a few of them have already gone past the saving point. Have a terrific Tuesday! Tip of the Day: Success, Failure, and the Chipmunk By Kathy Wilson, http://ezinearticles.com/?Success,-F...unk&id=1423390 The view from my office is my back yard, most of which I've left in it's natural state and which also abuts a greenbelt. There is a wonderful variety of wildlife that passes by my office window every day - deer, raccoons, chipmunks, and all kinds of birds. Both the birds and the chipmunks are drawn to the seed in the birdfeeder I've placed right outside my office window. The birdfeeder has a "squirrel proof" shield on it and is hung quite high on a metal pole. However, this contraption apparently isn't chipmunk proof. I found myself vastly entertained by a very determined chipmunk who spent days leaping from the pole to the birdfeeder. He fell many times, and each time would immediately scamper back up the pole where he would try again. I began to wonder if this little fella was a little nutty (pun intended) as he repeated his fruitless actions time after time. Then I noticed he seemed to be using the information about his most recent attempt to calculate his attempt and improve his aerial acrobatics. He'd carefully eyeball the situation, gauging how much oomph to put in his leap and where to aim for the best landing. He soon became so adept at it that he was no longer missing. He would scamper up the pole to the exact spot he knew was the best launching place, leap with the exact amount of push-off, and land exactly where he knew he could easily grab toe-holds. Then he'd eat the birdseed until he was full, jump down, and scamper off to play in the trees. This chipmunk is one very smart, and now very fat, little guy. While I was watching this process, I was reminded of one of the most important parts of accomplishing goals: Failure isn't failure. It's learning. Each time you experience a set-back in achieving one of your goals, you are gaining knowledge that will assist you not only as you are working toward your goal, it will also make your end result more grand. I invite you to look at your "failures" and set-backs from a new perspective. Ask, "what have I learned in this that can help me in achieving my goal?" I guarantee you'll find valuable information lurking in that "failure". |
