Back later to post. Got to get dinner on and then feed the dog, cats, mow lawns before dark and fold the laundry.

happy2bme 12-04-2016 12:21 PM

Good morning all,

Thank you Shad for setting up the new thread for us. I would have done it today now that I am back.

Ride home was uneventful if not a bit bumpy with turbulance. DH picked me up at the airport, we went to an appliance store in Duluth to look at stoves. Of course the most expensive one was a Fisher and Paykill (sp?) which I said was a good brand. However they are making stoves that are both gas and electric - electric for the oven. That F&P model was one of those and we simply don't have enough electricity left on our service to support any more high end appliances. We disconnected the jet tub in the master bath so we'd have the amperage for the new hot tub. Shopping for the stove was a pain - each one is about 80 percent of what we want so we will have to compromise on a model we like. The salesman was very good - gave us lots of choices and info but did not pressure us to buy on the spot. Need to think about it a bit more. We then tried to go to a favorite restaurant for dinner but they were having a private Christmas party. That is a problem this time of year around here - lots of parties. So we went to the steakhouse - a place we always go to and our waitress said we came at a good time - 5pm as there were 3 parties coming in soon - 2 of which she was waitressing. DH and I split and appetizer of steak bites and with a salad and baked potato - I was stuffed. I ate 2 of my bbq ribs and boxes the rest for DH. Still I came home uncomfortably stuffed. I gained about 3 pounds while in Chicago. Not as bad as I felt I had done although we did not go hog wild on any eating and generally ate one big meal a day much like I do here. I am going to try and do the low carb thing now that I am back and eat clean and get in some regular exercise. We are going to hold off buying the recumbent elliptical machine until after the first of the year. I may join the health club where I do yoga for 2 months or so because I noticed they just purchased a NuStep which is good for my knees. I was hurting alot in Chicago. My sister's toilets are REALLY LOW which made for great difficulty doing the equivalent of squats when I needed to use the facility. I was very happy to get home to my higher toilet AND the assisted medical arms I have on it to help brace me. I am getting discouraged that I will NEVER feel better with these stupid knees of mine.

When I was recouperating I put the computer in my kitchen on the counter to use. DH needed the space to cook and took my computer back upstairs on my desk. I am sitting here now with the heater on and sure enough - boomph! here comes Nina sitting on my hand and half of the keyboard. She said she did not miss me while I was gone but she did miss the heater. :dizzy: It is December 4 - it's snowing outside, very holiday looking and I am trying to decide if I have the wherewithall to go in the basement, drag out the decorations and set up for Christmas. Of course first I will have to do some cleaning in the house here. I'm just not in a holiday mood for some reason. It always seems to creep up too quickly. I really don't exchange gifts with anyone so I don't have to worry about that - just something to buy Mom who said she loves to get presents, will not give us a single clue about what she'd like, fawns all over what I bought her and then tells my sister that she "didn't really like or need" anything I sent her. I told my sister I'm just going to send her some clothes out of my closet since she loves to shop in my closet and takes all my favorite shirts.

Mom was making noises about how she had a very quiet birthday and sort of hinting around that it was a "special birthday" and yet nothing special happened. I think even tho she insisted that she did not want a party she was thinking that we were going to throw her some big blow out affair. The reality of it was that she had 4 separate "parties" where we and cousins all got together in small groups and they all made her the center of attention. She had 4 birthday parties. She also got cards from ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES AND AUSTRALIA thanks to the generosity of my friends and family. She got all kinds of presents including 3 goodie boxes from me alone sent at separate times with all sorts of presents and surprises. I could see how my sister needed a break from her when I was over there. She is EXTREMELY childish now and sis said the next step is that she will become mean and angry. I can't wait for that.

I intentionally decided this trip home I would devote exclusively to family. For the first time since I moved away, I did not get together with my best friend from childhood nor did I meet with anyone outside of family this time around. For a few days that meant some long and boring days but I am glad I got to focus on my Mom and sister which was the main intent of my trip. Besides the fact that Chicago weather made me even more crippled and I was not up to alot of running around anyway. Next time although I think I am going to seriously think about getting this other knee done this upcoming year.

Enough of my blah blah blah...

Thanks again Shad for setting up the new thread. Is it still hot by you? When we were looking at the appliance store they had a fancy chef's kitchen set up. In place of the dishwasher you can get a cultivator with grow lights using the water line from the dishwasher and can grow your own herbs and lettuces and such (not tall plants like tomatoes) all year round. I loved that idea - just no room in my tiny kitchen and at well over $2,000 for the unit - a bit out of my price range too. For some reason I saw it and thought of you also. What are your Christmas plans? Are you visiting Miss S and family or are they coming to see you?

Laura - that is a bummer with amount of accidents on the train line. For some reason people up that way whether by intention or accident seem to like to do themselves in on that line. I can see how frustrating it would be to delay your schedule so much. Glad to hear that BF did well in his studies. If he got an A then he put that fret to good use and studied extra hard.

Ceejay - I keep forgetting to take my b12 and vit D also. Are you going to decorate your house for the holidays?

Anne - loved the pictures of the Polar Express run. Looks like the boys had the kind of joyful looks of wonder that makes this time of year so special. Nice pictures of all of you. Thank you for the Biofreeze samples - I am going to try them tonight - I heard good things about that stuff.

Cat is rolling all over my arm and my hand is tired from trying to support a cat head for the last 45 minutes. So I'm going to post before she makes me lose all this work. Hello to Susie and the rest of the lurking chicks.. Have a good Sunday.

MyChoice2bfit 12-04-2016 05:27 PM

Hi Everyone! The daya just get away from me and now there is so much extra going on with the upcoming holidays. I just keep plugging away....

I went back and read all the posts,

Thanks to Shad for setting up the new thread. I know how to set up a new one but not link them...good thing we have Shad and Happy!!

Happy:it sounds like your trip to see your sister and mom was a pretty good one even with Mom hinting about a big party.

I read that Annie sent Biofreeze to you. I have heard it is good stuff. I will be interested in hearing what you think. My left knee hasnt been happy with my extra walking. We were in the mall for about 5 hrs yesterday. I was glad.to get home and talk some advil.

Annie: Cute pictures for the Polar Express. They looked adorable in thir pj's

I am one who is always dropping food or drink on my chest. I carry those Shout wipes with me and have a box at my desk too.

Laura: what a pain dealing with the Metro and accidents. I couldnt help wondering if those accidents with the pedestrians are because people are on their phones?

Ceejay; Other then the B12 it sounds like the doctoe visit went well.

I have two weeks and a day and a half to work and then I will be off until the first of the year. You can bet yhe next two weeks will be as the saying "balls to the wall"! Lol

I think at the present time everything with the hacking is taken care of. No new accounts in our names with the credit bureau. No more email changes or password changed we didnt make.

I think it was Annie who asked how much LifeLock is costing us. We went for the highest tier they have and and it is $25 a month for each of us. We can cancel at anytime.

That tier gives us monthly credit reports, monitors to see where our email addresses show up and gives us that info.

If we have an event of security breach we are protected up to a million dollars and have legal counsel assistance.

I told my husband as long as we have jobs and can pay the monthly $50 I will keep them until I have paid a millon dollars out of pocket. It is like having an insurance policy. You hope to never use it but would be glad to have it.

That is it for me. I am determined to get the tree decorated tonight.

annie175 12-05-2016 08:06 AM

Good Mornin/Evening Everyone!

Well shootie heck, had to go to Immediate Care yesterday. Another UTI, 2nd one in 4 months. What the heck is up with that? Never had one in my life, now I have had two. Cipro and something that relaxes your bladder that turns your urine orange. Very pretty. lol. Not to mention what the iron is doing. Very colorful and festive. lol

Polar Express was a blast. So much fun with the kiddos. Our group was about 22 people and only 4 of those were kids. Ha, well worth it tho. Both the gbabes were so excited and very impressed with the entire night. Got some great pictures that were posted on FB. One in particular that I loved of the 4 of us.

Yesterday I just laid around the house. Chris came and got the boys, Sam met a friend, C was at work. Sassy, Bruno and I slept off and on all day long. Sassy slept more than not. Seems the older I get the more these illnesses take out of me. If this is what old is about, I am over it and done.

SHADDIE...thank you for setting up the new thread. Wish we had some of your hot weather here. We a spitting snow, nothing stuck, but annoying. This coming weekend is supposed to be cold and dreary. No wonder things are beginning to ache more. I am sure ODDU is loving having you home. You might even be BFFs. lol.

HAPPY...your trip to CHI overall sounds like a success. At what age can we say and do things like momma does and get away with it. Are we getting close? lol. You are welcome for the Biofreeze. Let me know if it helps. I don't have any more samples but do know you have to get from your doctor. Hope it helps. Now a new stove, does it ever stop? I didn't realize you needed a new one. Thanks for getting this all taken care of before we all move to the commune. Hope my blow dryer doesn't blow a fuse! LMBO.

SUSIE...Good for you for a long vacation at the end of the year. LEAVE THE WORK LAPTOP AT WORK! I keep a Tide stick in my desk, guess I should invest in some Shout wipes. I remind myself of my mom when things get spilled on my shirt.

CEEG...B12, that is why I learned to give myself my own shot. One less trip to the doc each month. It is not hard to do, you should look into it. If the Polar Express at your sister's end is like ours, tickets have to be bought about 6 months in advance as it is totally sold out by October. Just FYI, if so, for next year.

Hello to all ya'll. Hugs

ceejay52 12-05-2016 11:12 AM

Annie
This doctor told me he thought that I could do with a b12 once every three months. My sister is a nurse and she could give my b12 if needed.

Shad
Thanks so much for setting up the new thread. I need to learn how to do this.

Susie
I decided to get LifeLock also. This time of the year is bad with hacking at stealing.

Happy
Glad you are back home in time for the snow. We are supposed to get it Wednesday. I'm not ready for it. Yes, I'm decorated for Christmas. I'm in a different mood this year.

-------
Nothing new for me. My sis looked at my lab results and told me they looked good. I do need to take iron and calcium. She also explained to me what a triglyceride is. And told me that I
could be borderline diabetic. So now I'm watching my sugar intake.
This morning I looked outside to see frozen fog on the tree's again. Then saw a pair of rabbits. Then I saw the snow birds. Ugh. For me that's a sure sign of snow.

happy2bme 12-05-2016 11:32 AM

Good morning boys and girls, Moms and Dads :D

Another Monday. Back to the routine. Still trying to remember who I am. Trying to type with a cat head bouncing up and down on my left hand and her reaching out to stretch a paw and turning on my caps lock and pressing F function buttons on my keyboard. :dizzy:

First thing this morning at 9am a phone call from one of the many doctor's offices. You owe $86. 85. Geez I must pay 3 or 4 doctor bills a month. Seems I am ALWAYS paying doctor bills. I know I hit my max out of pocket months ago yet I am still getting doctor bills. And these are from JULY. What takes them so long to process insurance???? I already got a refund check for an overpayment. I have never had so much trouble tracking payments before. I am going to have to make a spreadsheet as there are about 4 different doctors and as many facilities and everyone HAS THEIR HAND OUT!!!

2 good newses. 1 I did not gain any weight from my trip. I logged in to My Fitness Pal and I am the same weight this morning as I was October 17. So I am counting it as no gain although as my appetite came back I am up 2 pounds overall from my lowest weight this quarter. Also I have a follow up with the nurse practioner on Wednesday and I was supposed to lose one pound by this next visit. We set a low goal since I was travelling and we knew I'd be more "challenged". The other good news is that I found my $500 expensive progressive eye glasses. With my new $22,000 cataract eyes I now need 4 pairs of glasses instead of 1 or 2 - sunglasses, clear distance glasses, mid range computer glasses and close up cheaters. Thanks doctor for using cheap azzzzzz inserts! Anyway as I was getting ready and packing, I could not find my progressive glasses for distance. Not the biggest deal since I mostly need them for driving, but they are expensive and when I got home I could not find them. Looked everywhere and I was about to call the restaurant where DH and I last had dinner before I left (maybe I left them on the table but I didn't think so...). I looked on the kitchen chair where there was a winter scarf I was going to take with me but forgot and the glasses were wrapped in that scarf. Thank you Jesus! The doctor did say it would take about a year before my eyes "settled in" and I think they did and I need glasses pretty much all the time now. I am just appalled that the doctor's office charged me for a light prescription what I once used to pay for my heavy duty bells and whistles almost blind prescription.

Yes Annie, I need a new stove. The one we have is a nice one that they installed in 2001 when they built the house. However, the oven does not keep a temperature even though we had a service call and they replaced that "rope" that goes around the inside of the door to keep a seal. The enamel is wearing off the grates too and it's white so the porcelain is also starting to wear out from many years of scrubbing cooked on stains. Mostly though, there is always a smell of propane (gas) around the stove and it's getting stronger as time goes by. I wish I had the money to renovate the entire kitchen. I would expand into the open dining room. I don't really need a dining room - we could put one of those bench type tables against one wall and use the space for more cabinets and a big open counter with a built in cook top ... dream. The other house we were considering up here had a nice big kitchen and a huge master bath but that was about the only good thing about it. This house is much better for the practical things. So we are spending the money this year and next - I just hope the bottom does not drop out of the stock market when the new president takes over - I live in fear of all our savings pouring down the open drain again.

Susie - yes that Lifelock is pricey - especially when you have to pay it for each account but now that you have been hacked and you might have to deal with this for years to come, it's probably worth every penny for now so that they are monitoring things and it's one less thing for you to worry about. 5 hours - holy cow that's alot of walking - no wonder your knee is complaining. I find the thing that really helps the most although it doesn't seem to at the time is the good old ice pack to fight the inflammation. And an anti-inflammatory med if you have had an extra busy day. How is your husband doing with the afib? I hope you get your tree done tonight as planned.

Annie - that's funny that you say the Polar Express was mostly adults. I thought it would have been parents/grandparents and kids! Glad you had a good time with everyone. I'm sorry things didn't work out for Sam and Chris but it does seem like he keeps up with visitation (and hopefully support) so even if their relationship hit the skids, I hope for the kids sake - they have 2 loving parents. BOY are you right about when do WE start getting to act like Momma???? I told Sis that - I am getting OLD too and crotchety so look out Mom. One of the things that irks my sister is that my Mom does stuff now that we would never have gotten away with as kids ourselves. I noticed talking to her yesterday that she is very self focused - she asks questions to keep the conversation going because she doesn't want to hang up but she doesn't really listen to your response. I guess I see her drifting a bit and that's a bit sad too. I pray for patience in my life. I like Shout wipes better than the Tide stain stick. And don't worry - we have plugs available for the hair dryer - it's the stuff that pulls 220 electrical service that's a problem here. We get enough renters at the commune and we can afford to put in another electrical line - especially if all of you need electric blankets

It is a winter wonderland out there. Enough snow to be pretty but the rain I was hoping we'd get this morning is not coming until 3pm followed by an artic blast that will drop us into the 20s and teens with single digits overnight. Poor DH will have to be my Uber driver tomorrow as I have several places to go - dentist, Humane Society board member budget review and I am back at the thrift shop working Tuesday afternoons only because we are short of people even though I am not physically up to this and mentally I have had enough of all the drama and desperately want to quietly slink away from all of this already. I also need to go dig out my winter boots so I don't walk stiff legged like Quasimodo afraid that I will slip and pop out my new knee or wreck the old one even more.

Also need to make a grocery list as we have nothing NOTHING in this house to eat. Oh yes, we have cans and frozen stuff but none of the basics you need to put a meal together like bread, milk, fresh vegetables and butter. Thank goodness for boxed Kraft spaghetti and sauce or we would have had to go out in the snow or starve yesterday.

Hello to the rest of the chicks - I will catch up when I get back.

happy2bme 12-05-2016 11:33 AM

Shootie heck is going to be my new favorite phrase this week. ;)

Ceejay - enjoy the snow. You are retired now and you don't HAVE to go out in it if you don't want to.

Laura705 12-05-2016 01:02 PM

Morning all. Barely.

My weekend was alright. No commuter train mishaps Friday and Saturday. On Friday night bf and I shopped for my charity gifts. On Saturday we trained it down to the Christkindlmarket and met some friends. Within minutes of entering (at the 11 am opening time) it was wall-to-wall people and we could barely move around. We all ended up at our meeting place within 45-50 minutes after entering the market. No one bought anything – just too crowded to do much of anything. We went to lunch across the street and then we went home. Oh well.

It snowed about 6.5 inches yesterday (Sunday). Heavy wet snow. This morning I looked out the kitchen window and saw that one arborvitae tree in our line of them at the very back of our yard had toppled. Actually it was just part of the tree – several separate trunks coming out of the ground and maybe 2-3 trunks of it toppled. Unfortunately it fell onto our wood fence on the south part of our lot line. I hope that once bf gets it chain-sawed into manageable pieces and pulls it off the fence we’ll see that we don’t have much damage to the fence. I guess it’s good that the tree didn’t fall into the power wires that run across the back of the yard. I’m not sad at all about the tree – the part that went over had one trunk that jutted out at an angle (not straight up) and I was always bumping my head on it when I was working near that spot. And it’s one less of these trees that will need to be removed when we finally decide to tackle that project. And by “tackle”, I mean hire someone else to do it, LOL.

That was the excitement for the weekend. The unexciting: I bought $4 worth of lottery tickets and won exactly nil. Talked to mom and learned she’d had her cable tv set up and that my sister had found the power cord to Mom’s TV and rx’s when she was over there the other day. Watched the final episode of the Gilmore Girls series on Netflix (meh). I pulled the Christmas gift wrap box down from the attic and wrapped the charity gifts. That’s about it for my weekend.

Nothing special this week. Brought the charity gifts to work today. I’m taking a half day of vacation on Friday to get an EKG done. I’ve had a heart murmur since I was a kid and the doc wants to make sure nothing’s leaking. I’m going to note on my spreadsheet (doctor/medical stuff) that the doc said that if this EKG comes out good, I won’t need to get them anymore. I could swear she’d said that the last time I had one a few years ago...

==
Okay, on to personals.
==
Shad – Thanks for starting our new thread! Living the warm weather vicariously through you…

Happy – Sounds like you had a nice, quiet and sane visit with your family. Glad your travel was uneventful. == Re electricity – when bf and I did a big electrical upgrade project in our house (a few years after moving in), we had the level of our service increased because we knew we wanted to add central AC to our HVAC system. And specific to stoves - the electrician didn’t put our convection oven/range on its own circuit breaker. Use the convection feature plus too much other stuff in the kitchen all at once and it blows a circuit. Yes, that’s on the laundry list of electrical tasks to be done when we finally get someone in to take care of them. == Yay for no vacation weight gain and for finding the $$$ glasses!!!

Susie – Re the Metra commuter train accidents – they try not to publicize many details, so very little is ever learned about the causes. Many people believe they are suicides, but I do agree that at least some of the accidents are caused by people not paying attention and as you commented – they could be on their phones, or I think they could be wearing earbuds and don’t hear the train. === Sounds like you have a nice holiday break coming up. Too bad it has to come with a flurry of preparation beforehand and a lot of catchup afterwards. === I agree with you about the Lifelock monthly spend – I bet it would be a cinch for me to identify $50 of money going to unimportant, unneeded things that could be redirected towards the Lifelock service. One tiny monthly thing that comes to mind immediately – bf signed up for a printer cartridge program that costs $3.18 per month. We hardly print anything on our home printer, so I consider that a waste, even though it’s a small $ amount. The other waste is the $19.99 per month bf spends on his LA Fitness membership. It’s not a bad price, but it’s a waste because he hasn’t gone there in *forever*. Wish I had all that money back… Anyway, two quick things and I’m over halfway to the $50/month.

Annie – Glad the Polar Express was a hit with the kids. And for you – all the adult company you had. Love the fb pics, and yep, love the one of you with dd and the 2 g’babes. === Big bummer about the UTI. Hope the Cipro does the trick. The orange urine med is a bit alarming, but I’ve taken the OTC version and it does bring relief from the “discomfort”… === Yes, I want to know when we’ll be old enough to say and do what we like and get away with all of it. My mom must think she’s there already (at 83 y.o.). I’m not sure about her, but Happy’s mom at 90 definitely gets a pass, LOL. I think us Worldlies have a ways to go…

Ceejay – How nice you’re all decorated for Christmas. :tree: – Bf and I will be regretting we didn’t get the outdoor decorations done before the snow and cold came. Anyway, sounds like you’ll have a very festive holiday season this year. No more working on any of the holidays!! :carrot: -- I hope with exercise and diet modifications you can get away from the borderline diabetic diagnosis your sister gave you. Now you have the time to make your health Job #1.

Okay, it just ticked over into afternoon. Still have a bit of time to eat my lunch. Have a great day everyone. :)

Shad 12-06-2016 04:23 AM

Well shootie heck as Annie would say. My computer spat the dummy on Sunday and I dropped it into the hospital yesterday. Looks like the motherboard is dead. So I am reduced to the phone which I hate. So no personals today.
I went to the gynaecology oncology hospital yesterday to be greeted with the news that indeed my right ovary was cancerous and they intend to do a complete hysterectomy asap. First though I had to have a high contrast CT scan to determine if it has spread to other parts of the body. I went for that today. Unless the news is really bad, I don't expect to hear from them before Monday. Don't ask me how I feel. I am completely pissed off.
No personals right now. I need to get the computer back so I can type properly and fast. Then I will conduct a virtual lesson in starting new threads.

annie175 12-06-2016 07:17 AM

Oh SHADDIE...my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you.

That is all for now as I am very saddened by this news. I know you are not supposed to hate but right now I hate cancer and the way things are going in life.

ceejay52 12-06-2016 10:42 AM

Shad
So sorry to hear this news. Sending you healing thoughts.

Laura
Wow, 6.5 inches of wet snow! I can see where that could cause some damage. I hate shopping this time of year mainly because things are too crowded for me. I stopped by the super Walmart Sunday on my way home from Ash Grove, my sister's house, and it took me longer to find things because of so many people shopping. Part of it may be in lieu of the prediction of snow.

Happy
I'm grateful that I don't have to get out if it does snow. I bought enough groceries that I should not have to get out. The weather men are predicting mainly snow flurries and possible one inch of accumulative snow.

--------
I'm working in the garage today to finish up my part. My niece will do her part when she comes home Christmas. Sis is wanting to get my garage door fixed to where I can park the car in the garage.
A gyn office called yesterday to set up an appointment. It will be January 24th. I'm going to wait till 2017 to make an eye and dentist appointment
I've been using my laptop more and it takes more data because of updates.

Laura705 12-06-2016 04:26 PM

Busy day here, no time for a regular post.

Just a quick response for Shad : Healing thoughts for you. I'm sure " Shootie heck" doesn't quite cover it.

annie175 12-07-2016 07:47 AM

Hump Day!

Free Holiday Cheer in the lobby. Starbucks and Long's donuts. I will pass on the donuts but I can guarantee you I will be getting the Starbucks! Long's donuts are supposed to be THEE best donuts in Indy. I am not a donut fan so I cannot tell you or not. Long lines, cash only, and crappy parking. Hmmmm.

Last night was beef stroganoff, cauliflower and rolls. Easy and quick. Was extremely tired last night so I went to bed at 7:30, didn't go to sleep but was in bed. Doc said I probably needed to exercise to get more energy and be less tired. I just laughed at her and said, guess I will be tired. lol.

SHADDIE...holding good thoughts and prayers for you.

LAURA...sorry your day was so busy. Hope it slows down a bit for you today.

CEEG...did you get the garage done? Bleh on the gyno appt.

Hi to all. Hugs

happy2bme 12-07-2016 09:24 AM

Joy - my heart is saddened by your news. Be pissed off, fight it as hard as you can. Sweep it out of your life with your broom Missy - this one's not going down easy. I was hoping that the lack of news was a positive thing. Know that we both are sending all good wishes and thoughts for a speedy and complete recovery. I saw your card when I was at my Mom's last week and was really touched by not only the beautiful card - but your lovely note in it as well. My Mom has it displayed in a prominent location in the living room and shows it to everyone who comes over.

Annie - quote of the day "... I guess I'll just be tired". Thank you for the morning laugh. I was thinking beef stroganoff this week too. Yum - and I have cauliflower also. Just too busy this week to cook it. Good for you for passing on the donut.

Ceejay - with a bit of work you can get past the borderline diagnosis - always a good thing when you can manage something. Hope you don't get much snow.

Laura - hope all goes well for you with the EKG. Sorry to hear about the snow taking the trees down. I was glad to have missed that and was anxiously watching the weather forecast. I'll take our dry powder over the heavy wet stuff any day. Darn - are you saying the convection style ovens require a stronger electrical draw? I guess no convection for me then LOL. How do you like that AND the steam dryer? Been meaning to ask you that.

Quick post for me. Back at home, back on the run again. Yesterday was the dentist - good news is the crown I thought I broke is only chipped a bit. Bad news is he found another crown that is worn and needs replacing and not wearing my partial plate is causing my other teeth to loosen up. Then I had to fight with Walgreens to fill my antibiotic prescription - they are the worst pharmacy in town when it comes to filling prescriptions and for the next 2 years I need an antibiotic dose an hour before any dentist appointment to prevent infection issues with the knee replacement. Then I had to run to a Humane Society budget meeting where people do not seem to understand that when your income is down you can't keep spending wayyyyy over your budget. That droned on and on and I left after 70 minutes (for a 30 minute scheduled meeting) and DH and I had a quick lunch before he dropped me off at the thrift shop for my afternoon shift. I'm glad he drove me because when he came to get me, he was slipping and sliding up our big hill. Today I have a follow up diet doctor appointment, yoga and then the winter session board of directors meeting for the Humane Society tonight. Tomorrow I hope to get some things done at the house here like laundry and unpacking before I run to bingo in the evening. I think I want to stay home more. Last night I forgot to take my evening pain pills and woke up at 3am in alot of pain. By the time things calmed down, it was time to wake up for the day. I guess I won't be weaning off the pain pills like I was hoping. Yet.

Gotta run now. Good thoughts to you Shad as well as all of you chicks. :grouphug:

Happy
You are correct that I can get past the borderline diagnosis. I have a plan in place so that will help. The weather men have down graded the snow to a dusting. It's the frigid temperatures the next couple of nights that bother me. 17 degrees tonight and 12 tomorrow night.

Laura
Hope the EKG is normal. Has the snow started to melt?

Annie
I still have a few things to get out of the garage. And I've decided to close my eyes and start tossing some things out.

Hi Susie

---------
I purchased a new area rug at Ashley's furniture store on Saturday. I wish I had the tracking number to see where it is.
I've decided that I'm going to keep the bank that I had in Arkansas. Yes the location is a little bit farther away but I miss it. Not that I go to the bank very much. Most every thing is done on line. My SS check is direct deposited.
I'm wanting something different for breakfast this morning and I'm thinking pancakes but I will have to go down to MCD's to get that.

Laura705 12-07-2016 06:02 PM

Afternoon all. Another somewhat busy day, but better than yesterday.

Shad – When do you get the results of the CT scan? I hope & pray nothing’s spread to other body parts.

Ceejay – We have two Walmarts close to home. The Super version gets crazy busy and there’s always a kid screaming like a banshee that can be heard halfway across the store. The other is a smaller Neighborhood version and it’s usually quiet and sane. Too bad it doesn’t have the selection the big one has, but it's fine for the basics. == How did the garage work go? == It’s nice that you can still use the bank you had.

Annie – Good for you passing on the doughnut. I would have gotten one, especially since I would be most unlikely to seek out their location to try one. Yum, beef stroganoff. :hun: LOL re “I guess I’ll just be tired.” I can't blame you to be anti-exercise with the ankle issue.

Happy – I expect the EKG to be a non-event as it has been for many years now. == Re the convection feature – I’m not sure why it would draw enough additional electricity to overload a circuit, as I understand that it’s just a fan that circulates the air around the oven…as bf and I have rarely used the feature because of this issue, we are by no means experts about it, so definitely follow up with the salesperson about it. === Re the steam dry feature on the dryer…haven’t used that feature yes. Most of my work clothing/delicates are only dried for a short time to fluff them up and then I hang them on the line or drying racks in the basement. Other items like whites or sheets/towels do not need to be steamed. Not a feature I would use with any frequency. Maybe for a tablecloth? == Sorry to hear about the bad dental news, but at least there was some good news as well! == You're such a big softie sticking with the volunteer work even though it makes you busier than you want to be – I know it’s for the good of the cause that keeps you active with it. :) == How is the yoga going for you post-knee replacement?
==
I went to movie night last night and saw “The Edge of Seventeen”. It stars Haley Steinfeld (she was the girl in the remake of “True Grit”) and Woody Harrelson as one of her teachers. It was a “teen angst” kind of movie – not usually my thing - but it was funny and good. Not a rave review, but decent entertainment.

Bf sold mom’s car yesterday, so yay for it being out of our driveway and clearing the way to parking our car in the garage without having to put a car on the grass alongside the driveway.

I had my CPR class this afternoon and it was a different instructor than the one we’ve had for so many years. She was great – no boring video to watch and a lot better with more in depth explanations, and funny to boot. The class flew by and ended about 20 minutes early. My meeting this morning also ended 30 minutes early, and a lunch was rescheduled, so today was a better day than I thought it would be.

Tonight I’ll pick up a movie I have on hold at the library. Looking forward to relaxing tonight. Actually, I was a sloth over the weekend so I really should throw a load of laundry into the washer.

Okay, I’ll get this posted. Have a good rest of the day everyone.

Doc just called with lab results. No wonder I am tired all the time.....Hepatitis C. Great one more flipping thing to deal with. Cannot even get into the specialist until March 10. I am on a wait list. I am so over all of this. Michael is the lucky one.

Laura705 12-08-2016 12:28 PM

Morning all.

Annie – I’m so sorry to hear about the Hep C diagnosis. What’s involved in treating/managing it? Is it something that can be cured? Unbelievable you can’t see anyone about it sooner than MARCH???!!! WTH?? Guess you’re on your own til then, or is your regular doc able to help you?? == I was a blood donor for several years when one time after a donation, they sent me a letter saying that my blood showed Hep C. They went on to say that they tested it again and it turned out to be a false positive, but even so I was no long desirable as a donor. Fine by me. I knew I would eventually stop donating because I figured someday I might need my good vein to give blood for myself or perhaps a family member or friend in need. (FYI, my blood type is A positive.) (And BTW, yes, after receiving the letter, I did have my primary doc test my blood again and it was fine.)

Hellos to the rest of you.

I wrote a bunch of whiney crap about very minor things in the grand realm of what I’ll lump together as “people’s problems” (both among the Worldlies and in general). I decided it wasn't worth reading and deleted it all and will just give you a basic update.

Later this afternoon is the holiday party thrown by the boss’s boss for his departments (three including ours). Being held just down the street, so it's convenient.

Tomorrow I have a half day of vacation before the EKG at 3 pm. I will leave the office early. Once I get home I’ll eat lunch and then it’ll be time to get to the hospital.

Saturday night we have our block’s holiday gathering – appetizer/main course at one house, dessert at another.

Nothing else planned for this weekend, but as usual there’s plenty that needs doing around the house, and I’ll see what mom might need doing too.

That’s about it for me. TTFN. Have a nice weekend everyone.

happy2bme 12-08-2016 01:12 PM

Well good heavens ladies, what the ding dong heck is going on with us? Not just illnesses, but SERIOUS ones. First Shad, now you Annie.  And I thought we were all living fairly decently. But that's how life goes, doesn't it - you're tooling along doing all the "normal, everyday things" and then wham - life pops you one in the face.

Sort of minimizes any of my stupid problems... :grouphug: All I can ask is that you put everything you have into getting past these hurdles and getting yourselves better. Argh. Good thoughts to both of you Annie and Shad.

Nina jumped up on my computer and is totally laid out on my hand and halfway across the keyboard. I have tried to move her but she is stubborn and just comes right back again. She does not care that her head bobs up and down as I type nor does it matter to her that I have work to do. Sigh...

Yesterday was the shelter board meeting. A lot of people didn't show up. The weather is blustery cold and slippery out. Winter came late but with a vengeance. I am so glad that DH is supportive of being my "Uber" driver and takes me all over. No way could I have gone out in the dark and slippery otherwise which is why I guess many people didn't show up. We got some things accomplished - as always there is alot of work and a lot of needs. I in particular have several tasks assigned to me that I am responsible for and I need to focus on them. I also have ALOT of tasks at home that I need to focus on too. :^: I've decided less time at the thrift shop (won't miss the drama) and will have to divide my time between home and shelter tasks. I've sort of been running non stop since I got back home and I was feeling more and more removed from what I needed to do at home that I stayed up until almost 3am this morning just taking care of cleaning out the kitchen area. I tried to be quiet so as to not disturb DH's sleep.

And then there's that "holiday" thing to think about. I wish we did Christmas in June or something. It just comes up way too fast. We have a short summer so June - is the time to get ready for summer as it finally warms up here. July and August - have warm weather fun. Next you know it's September - oops - winter will be upon us soon - days are still nice but nights noticeably cooler so we try to enjoy what we can and HANG ON to those last few days. October we try to catch the autumn colors the beginning of the month and then it gets really chilly and you know winter's around the corner so hurry up grasshopper and get your winter prep done and fret about the things you should have done outside and didn't get to. I regret that with my surgery I did not prep my garden at all for winter. Didn't cover my strawberry plants, only ripped out half the spent garden plants. Going to be a big mess to clean next spring. November comes and goes in a flash and before you know it - bam - December is slapping us in the face. Cripes it's already the 8th. And there are so many things to catch up on. Plus I am already behind from stuff that got delayed while I was recuperating - and I am still doing that. It's just overwhelming and it stopped being fun and more of a chore many years ago. I think it's going to be minimal decorations, only a few cards being sent out and a big effort on my part to balance my time and commit to getting a few things done every day. I also desperately need to do some decluttering. I think I have reached the point where I have more than I have room to put it. And it would make DH very happy if there was "less" around. I am still going to do bingo tonight - I can get a bit of my social fix in without the drama and aggravation of other outlets.

DH is in one of our spare rooms and that's the hottest room in the house. I think the furnace vent goes straight up there. With the cats, it's very unlikely we will have guests so we might turn both bedrooms into respective workspaces for both of us. I can use his room as a studio and still keep the daybed for guests if needed. I have this wonderful "hobby" room in the basement but after working with my friend who has an actual studio - the basement is dark even with canned ceiling lights and DH's current "hot room" has windows on both walls and lots of great light for hobbies, reading and doing art! So another task

Always something to do, eh? I did meet with the nutrition counselor this week. Did not gain any weight on my Chicago trip but need to work on seriously moving the scale - even with December parties and holidays. I'm not into eating my way through town - appetite still down a bit although food is tasting better. I want to incorporate some regular exercise too. Wish we could afford to buy the NuStep sooner - DH is talking spring now. I can join the gym for a minimal cost - it's just that next week the winter blast hits - highs in the negative temps (negative F that is) darn cold and I admit - who wants to go out to the gym in that??? I know ladies, just excuses - right?

Annie - that is disgusting that you have to wait until March to see a specialist. AND you live in a big city. DH is having the same issues - they want to do a nerve test to see if he has damage from his neck discs. Doctor wants the electrical test right away and even if he goes up to Duluth - no problem - he STILL has to wait until the end of February. As he said - if there is that much of a wait - doesn't it mean you need to find more doctors in that specialty???? I sort of expect this in socialized medicine and even to a bit up here in the sticks even though we are willing to travel although not the 3 + hours to Minneapolis. Your town is so big that I would think you could get treated earlier. And this all just wears on the poor brain too. I know it's easy to say but please try and not let this get you down. There are people depending on you who want you around for the longest time. Thank you for the cute kitty t-shirt picture. That brought a smile to my face. :D

Laura - your local Walmart is like ours in town. We call it the "ghetto" Walmart. Not the same amenities as the super center an hour's drive away. I guess in a way that's good - less to be tempted to buy. Once again I had to stuff my jealousy of the grand selection in the big box stores like Meijer and Berkots. Sure does make Jewel Foods look like a Mom and Pop store now a days. Yay on selling Mom's car. Is she settled in yet? Does she realize she has too much stuff yet? What movie are you picking up?

Ceejay - is this your first taste of really chilly weather or just an extended season from what you are used to? Will take a while to build up your tolerance to the cold. Luckily they make alot of really soft and comfy and warm winter stuff. Cuddle Duds makes alot of lightweight fleece that nice to layer this time of year.

Guess that's it for me. I need to post and get on with the day. Hello to the ladies.

Shad 12-08-2016 04:30 PM

Still on the dreaded phone so this will be short. Haven't heard anything from the hospital so am taking that as a good sign. Monday is their meeting day so may get some info then.
Sorry to hear of the hepC Annie. Hope something happens that you can get in faster. Please no talk of being dead. We are not allowed that at least until I come to the USA for my next visit.
Laura, you are allowed to whine and whine as required. I will probably be doing that over the coming weeks.
Happy, glad your mum was happy with the card. Doesn't take much effort to give a little happiness.
Ceejay, snow! you won't be used to that.

That's about it. Fingers don't like this silly keyboard.

ceejay52 12-08-2016 07:37 PM

Annie
Hugs to you. I've been hearing on the commercials that we baby boomers need to get tested for HepC. Going to ask my sister about this one.

Happy
I'm taking necessary steps to get healthy. Mainly taking vitamins but that's a help. I understand about not getting out in the cold to go exercise. I did wait till afternoon when the temperature had risen to 28. We did have snow in Arkansas and believe it or not on the same day 5 years ago we had a big snow according to FB. I'm never ready for the cold air.

Laura
We have a what I call a Walmart grocery that is closer that I go to more than the super Walmart. The bank I used in Arkansas told me that I could use the bank's up here. I will have to get some new checks ordered but first I'm going to have to make sure that the routing number and account number will be the same. I will do that next week. Ugh wish I could think of these things before I re route my social security check. Garage cleaning is coming along slowly but it looks like I've accomplished a lot. I'm about to get a spot for the vehicle. It was too cold to do any cleaning out there today.

Shad
Your medical system sound about like ours. Hope you hear something soon.

I've been waiting a couple of days for the area rug that I ordered from Ashley. It was delivered. It's pretty to me. but wish I hadn't let my sister talk me into the one that was rectangle instead of the round one. It will be okay. I will have to get used to it. Went to the gym after the area rug was delivered and did the treadmill for 30 minutes. I got almost 2 miles in according to my Fitbit. Tomorrow I will ride my bike here. May have to move it inside. Now I wonder where I can put it.

MyChoice2bfit 12-09-2016 08:18 AM

Typed a long post and then I got that error and I couldn't get it back...Dang it!

I'll come back later, but I want to let Shad and Annie know that I'm praying for both of you and I care deeply for the both of you. Ladies: We will get through this.....you are not alone. I am praying for the both of you and we will support each other.

:hug::hug:

ceejay52 12-09-2016 11:25 AM

Morning
Working in the office this morning even though I need to be cleaning the kitchen.
Sis wanted me to come to Branson this week end but it's to cold for me. It was 14 degree's this morning.
Not much going on.

MyChoice2bfit 12-10-2016 09:24 AM

Hello Everyone from Bright, Sunny and COLD Ohio.

This cold weather has brought on a Fibromilargia episode for me. I think it is a combination of the weather, the stress that happened with the computer hacking and when I was interviewing for the EA roles, all caught up with me. I felt so badly yesterday with my body hurting all over, like I had exercised for 24 hrs straight that I called off work due to illness.

I slept a lot and moved gently. I will have to move gently for ahwile. I feel a little better today.

Ceejay: I am sure you will get back to working out again. I know I need to get back into the routine too.

Shad: I believe that doing a full hysterectomy is common after they find cancer in an ovary. I am praying it was contained to that overy.

I saw your tree picture on Facebook. Are the cats leaving it alone?

Annie: ok sister, you need to get into that specialist before March. So, my advice is to call every week to see if there have been any cancellations. I will guarantee that after a few weeks of hearing from you, they will get you an appointment. The squeaky wheel gets taken care of.

Laura: that was good news that your mom's car sold that quickly. Did your boyfrienf get the tree off the fence and cut up? I hope the fence didnt have to much damage.

Happy: I dont like going out in the cold to work out either. But, we do know that moving about is best for us so maybe you can committ to going two days a week to go and use the equipment you dont have at home and then maybe do a day at home such as a Walk away the pounds dvd or something?

I need to get to moving this morning. I need to clean the bathroom and the kitchen. DH will run the vacuum and we will call the house clean. I will dust tomorrow. I dont want to overdo and stir up the muscle pain that comes if I overexcert when having a fibro flare.

ceejay52 12-10-2016 03:45 PM

Susie
So sorry that you have had a flare up with the fibro. My friend in Arkansas has that and sometimes she can't move. Hope youo feel better soon.

------
Sis and bil came by to see the new area rug. Both liked it. Told sis that the chandelier needs to be moved over about 2 inches and she agreed. So we are adding that to the repair man's list of things to do. He's supposed to bring the counter tops next week.
Found out that the routing and account number on my bank account will not change from the move to Missouri. Will just have to change the mailing address.
Need to start the laundry.

happy2bme 12-10-2016 07:50 PM

Hi girls,

I finally chased the cat off the computer so I have 2 hands free to type again. She'll be back shortly again when she chills back up. We are all cold here with the latest cold front moving through. I made DH a cup of hot chocolate when he came in from shovelling snow. Made me one two but the milk perhaps just made me feel phlegmy like my allergies were in overdrive so I think I will stick with tea going forward. I stopped at the Thrift Shop today to drop off some supplies and also to put some hand made ornaments on our "giving tree" (for supplies and such for the shelter). Coming home DH and I saw a cookie bake sale at one of the local churches and I was surprised he turned around and we went in. Lots of homebaked cookies to benefit the Habitat For Humanity. We bought a box full and now DH can enjoy his sweet treat in the evening. I had one - cheese tempts me more than cookies. We went out to a Mexican restaurant for a late lunch / early dinner and now I could use a nap.

Ceejay - glad everyone likes the new rug. I agree a round one is different and may take some getting used to but I'm sure you will like it just fine. Is the chandelier you want moved new? Sounds like you are doing some tweaking.

Shad - the tree looks lovely. Hope ODDU does not envision it as a new toy! :yikes:

Susie - sorry to hear about the fibro flare up. I agree that you have been under a lot of stress lately. Hope you can calm it down. Does singing Christmas songs help any? :D Glad you are pacing yourself with household tasks until this passes.

 to you Annie. When it rains, it pours, huh? Don't let it get you down though.

Laura - hope the weekend holiday party goes well. I am hoping to avoid as many as possible - not up to going out in the cold weather or standing around for long periods of time and chit chatting about nothing this year. How did the work party go?

Enjoy your weekend plans everyone.

Laura705 12-11-2016 01:42 PM

Afternoon all.

Happy- Just talked with mom by phone this morning and yes - she does indeed know that she brought too much with her. === All the car stuff is done with, yippee. Dang, forgot to ask if she cancelled her car insurance. I'll call her again later. == The movie I picked up the other day was "The Peanuts Movie". It was cute and had the feeling of the old TV specials, IMO. Glad they didn't wreck it for me, lol.== The nu step sounds like a good idea if you can tolerate the solo home exercising and can use music, TV and/or reading to keep yourself entertained while you do it. Personally I find it so boring... When I had a treadmill, I had the TV and music, and I would switch off between the treadmill, the health rider (remember those?) and my bicycle on the Cyclops trainer to try to avoid boredom. For that type of exercise, I'd much higher rather do it at home than go out to a gym.

Shad - it's nearly your Monday and I hope you get some more info from the docs. Some definitive diagnoses and a plan of action are what you need, not more waiting!

Ceejay- I hope you now have a spot for your car in the garage now that the cold temps and snow are here.== Where was your exercise bike before - in the garage?? == Nice that you won't have to change banks or account numbers, just get your new address on your checks. == Do you like your new rug? It sort of sounds sort of like you're trying to convince yourself....

Susie - Sorry to hear that you've been battling a flare-up of the fibromyalgia. I hope you're feeling better today. Relax today! Yes, bf got out the chainsaw and cut up the tree enough to get it off the fence, and thankfully the fence has no damage.

Hello to Anne.

==
The work party on Thursday was just fine. I did finally get to introduce myself to the new employee who sits a couple cubes down from me. He works in another department the reports to the boss's boss. Nice kid.

Friday's half day at work went quickly. Met bf for lunch and he went with me to my cardio echo appointment. It was a PITA getting it at the hospital this time around (vs. In my dr's office). Parking, registration, etc. But the procedure was alright, just glad my heart was "photogenic" enough (as the tech put it, lol) at all angles to avoid needing an IV in my hand to do the high contrast thing.

Yesterday I did laundry and some errands. The block's holiday party was very nice - always nice when we don't have to host it. :D

Just lazing around today, though I did shovel snow this morning - the path to the house, two tire strips down the driveway & a single path on the front walk. All in the guise of fetching the Sunday paper from the end of the driveway, lol. But now it's snowing again... bf will have to get out with snowblower later on but I'm betting he'll want to wait until it's stopped before doing it so he only has to do it once.

Gonna get back to more laundry, so I'll get this posted. TTFN.

ceejay52 12-11-2016 06:59 PM

Happy
I do like my new rug. I just couldn't get it centered on the rug and under the chandelier. But sis had agree to move the chandelier over and have it centered. Made me happy.

Laura
My bike in Arkansas was in my office and I'm going to put it back in here tomorrow. I'm going to schedule myself for the gym at least 4 times per week. but their will be weather related days that I will not go. Glad your mom's car is out of the way. What has your mom decided to do with all the extra things? My sis and brother in law measure the length of the door Saturday and today he called and had me to measure the height of the door. He's going to order the door tomorrow so maybe by week after next the new door will be hung. I'm getting excited about that.

---------
I'm disappointed that my tablet will not come on. I really don't want to buy a new but may later on if I can't get it to working. I'm using my laptop now and it's giving me fits with the cursor jumping around.

annie175 12-12-2016 08:20 AM

Monday Monday....Sheesh, I just need to get out of my own head...AA rule, when you are feeling sorry for yourself or too many whoas gotcha going.

My liver scan was good news bad news...see below

The liver ultrasound shows signs suggestive of fatty liver. No other abnormalities noted such as masses or tumors. This test still can not fully assess the degree the Hepatitis C has affected the liver. That will have to wait until your appointment with the specialist.

Suggestive Fatty LIVER...what, not another fat issue. No masses or tumors is great!

We finally got the Christmas tree up and decorated. What a chaos with a almost 3 yr old and a 5 yr old. I finally just sat down, let Sam and C handle the entire thing. I had to laugh at the kids. My decorations were all "new" to them so each one had to be "oh mommie, look at this one". Of course Royce's little, "awwww" on most was priceless. After all was said and done, Jacob said "now we need to get some presents under that tree". Have presents, need wrapped except those that will be from Santa. We made Christmas cookies and Chex snack mix this weekend also. Pass on the cookies but the chex mix, shue weee what a weakness. So do I start eating even more healthier for my health issues now or wait till January 1st? I am slightly doing better now with eating.

SUSIE...I agree, I am going to call the specialist about every 3 days to check for a cancellation. My boss is on board with me jumping up and running out to a last minute appointment. He sent me a text message over the weekend that said...hope you are feeling better about things. It will be alright. I sent back, thanks Dad. He is such a neat person. Sorry to hear your Fibromilargia caught up with you stressful life. I think we both just need a bit of pampering, massage, pedis, mannies, etc. Well all of us worldly girls need that. Relax, relax, relax. Listen to myself please.

LAURA...glad the car sold quickly....sure was a steal for anyone. Great shape, low mileage, wish it could of been Sam. :) Whew, glad all that snow missed us. Upper Indiana got socked, but not us. We do have all the cold, blowing temperatures. Poor C working out in this crud. Wears him out. What is your new year's eve plans? What is your 2017 exercise plan?

Need to go to the toitie...will be back shortly to finish personels.

Hugs thus far.

annie175 12-12-2016 09:12 AM

OK...back

SHADDIE...be sure to let us know what is going on healthwise with you. Me thinks, HAPPY will have to make our commune into a nursing home or assisted living commune. Seems like once I hit 54, it was all done hill.

HAPPY...boy DH is sure posting some pretty pics on FB. I am loving the butterflies. Maybe set up a "fake" computer, turn it on and let the cat lounge on that while you try to work on your computer. Of course you will have to get her a space heater to go along with that. lol. WHen you feel like a nap, don't fight it, just do it. I tried to get one in yesterday however about that time, C came home, the crocker of pork loin, potatos, carrots and onions was ready so dinner it was. No sleep for the WICKED.

CEEG...the area rug sounds pretty. What are the colors again? Getting all settled in?

That is all for me, hope this week brings us all to a healthy state or at least as much as we can be.

Love and Hugs, and as always, thank you for your support in my life.

Laura705 12-12-2016 12:03 PM

Morning all. :snowglo:

I wanted to remember something so of course I came here and checked out some of our old threads, LOL. I’m relieved to have confirmed that bf and I last hosted my side of the family’s Christmas gathering in 2014 and therefore we are NOT up this year in the 3-year rotation. My sis and BIL hosted last year. So that would mean it’s my SIL and her sister’s turn…but I’m pretty sure they’ve been having their kitchen remodeled and I don’t know what stage it’s at. Huh. I guess it may fall to us. If so, we’ll get through it. I do get anxious over hosting - all the cleaning, cooking, etc. === As for celebrating with bf’s side of the family, that’s this Sunday, 12/18.

Christmas sure snuck up on me this year. :elf: I took a few Christmas decorations out of the attic yesterday, but not the tree/ornaments. Maybe tonight. We got a lot of snow yesterday and it’ll be very cold this week, so we won’t be able to do any outdoor decorating to speak of. Maybe I’ll hang a few of my big red velvet bows.

Nothing much else going on with me, so on to personals.
==
Ceejay – I’m glad you like your new rug. I get what you mean about centering the rug under the chandelier. We have a chandelier in the very center of our dining room ceiling, but we don’t have the DR table centered under it because we need to have room to get around the table to the kitchen doorway. I think about that every once in a while, but I’m pretty sure it would bug me if we moved the chandelier off-center. == It’s good that you have a workout plan for the gym, and then your bike at home as a back-up. No excuses! :D == For my mom’s extra things, I’ve taken a couple boxes to the thrift shop, and I’m sure my sister has also done that. I guess we’ll continue doing that. == Are you talking about a new garage door? === I hope your tablet issues can be resolved. :comp:

Annie – I’m glad you’ll keep checking back with the doctor to see if you can get in any earlier. Yay that the liver has no abnormalities!!! What can be done about the fatty liver issue? Hopefully it’s a dietary thing and not more medication – who needs that. === I bet getting the Christmas tree decorated with the g-babes involved was big fun. I know I love seeing all my favorite ornaments again, and adding a few new ones each year as well. How cute seeing them enjoy your ornaments for the first time. == Yum, homemade chex mix. It’s the butter! :) == We got the snow you didn’t get. But no snow day today for us. My train was only a few minutes behind schedule this morning. === Nope, no New Year’s plans yet. As usual, I’d be content to hang out at home... == No 2017 exercise plan yet, but I’ll likely register for a pilates class at the recplex. My right foot is not doing well, so no plans for any other types of classes. I’ll get back to doing home workouts in the basement with my BE dvds and I can modify to take it easy on that foot.

Hellos to the rest of you!! I hope everyone has a good week!

Morning all,
I still have heard nothing from the hospital. I am beyond pissed and it is doing my head in. Just a simple - yes it has spread or no it hasn't spread is all I need. I totally blew the phoo phoo valve last night and went to bed in an emotional meltdown. I have an appointment with my doctor this morning and hopefully he can tell me something.

Sorry I am not good company at the moment and I can't think of anything to say or do. Keep well, keep smiling, I will get over this, just when is the question.

Annie
The color of my rug has a gray green and red tones in it. It goes with my living room furniture too. Maybe there is nothing else to worry about on your test results. Glad your boss is very understanding. I pm'd you my address hope I got the right Annie. You are Annie 175 correct? How fun to have the boys around at Christmas time to help decorate the tree.

Shad
You have the right to be upset. Keep us posted.

Laura
I actually took a measuring tape and measured the distance to the center of the rug to put my table in the center of it. It worked out fine. And I'm beginning to think I don't need to change the position of the chandelier. Think I'm to picky at times. It did help to move the small buffet to the other side of the room and I think if I moved the refrigerator down a couple of more inches that would level out that space. The dining room and kitchen are open concept. The garage door needs to be replaced and has needed to be for a while. They don't want me to raise or lower it by myself because they are afraid it might fall on me. By the way, my tablet came on today. Think it needed to be charged.

Hello's to Happy and Susie.

Drove over to Republic this afternoon to deposit a check and order new checks and he also changed my address on my online account. The person that waited on me looked up how many years I'd been with that bank and it has been 37 years. Wow no wonder I don't want to move the account.
Tomorrow I'm going to do some cooking and work some more in the garage. Told my sis that I'm going to move some of my plastic containers out to the storage shed. I don't have that many. And break down and mulch the leaves. I've been hearing mowers and I'm assuming that's what they are doing.

Huurrah for enthusiastic GP's. I went down and whinged and carried on. He harassed the hospital and the MRI imaging unit and they faxed across the results of the scan.

THIS BODY IS CANCER FREE! Yeehaa

Now I can concentrate on what is going on around me and in here. Thanks for listening to my rants and raves.

Now I need to harass the company that has my computer. I need it fixed and ready.

Yes, I worry about EVERYONE and EVERY THING!! Save your rants and cussing for the computer repair company. :)

CEEG...got your address. Thanks! One of my besties lives in Oakville, MO. A berg just off of St. Louis. If I ever get out that way again, I will be sure to look you up. Your home sounds lovely and the rug sound pretty...I love gray color in most everything.

LAURA...I have not googled fatty liver yet, but I do know it is not a medicated issue. It has to do with diet and being over weight. Shoot me now.

HAPPY...how are you feeling, when I don't see a post from you, I get concerned you are in a lot of pain whether it be the knee or sorts or the thrift shop.

SUSIE...hope you are feeling better and things are going well. Prayers.

I really need to get out of my own head. I am miserable. Now I do believe I have a sinus infection. My face hurts as I am sure it hurts others. lol. Went to bed directly after dinner at 7 pm. Was asleep by 8 and totally missed The Voice. Tonight is the finally. I hope I have the energy to stay awake.

Make it a great Tuesday. Hugs all.
