Egg, biscuit, hash brown
Cheese, tomato, onion sandwich
Veggie pizza, chips, and tea

How is your Mother-in-Law doing? Do you have enough family/friends around to help care for her?

Wow, two banquets! That will be tough. I guess you can try to focus on the low calorie foods and good conversion. Perhaps focus on meeting people you don't know and trying to learn more about them and their hobbies. Just trying to think of something other than the food aspect of it all. Sending you some will power dust to get through it so you will be prepared.
:dust:
Have a great Friday!

12 flights of stairs
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals
oatmeal
banana
ham and cheese sandwich, hard boiled egg
sausage and peppers, carrots, noodles

My mother-in-law is doing good. I'm the only one caring for her as Sam goes to work. I don't mind, but she can be rather demanding. The Visiting Nurses are coming today to evaluate her, but I know she won't want to go to a rehab facility. At least I'm getting more exercise going up and down her stairs.
Both banquets are horse related, so there will be plenty to talk about and they are buffet style, so I can pick good choices.
Did you go look for a couch?

Have an awesome day!

Corinna T 11-11-2016 09:11 PM

Exercise
2 hour walk

Meals
Toast and pumpkin hummus
Macaroni and cheese
Veggie pizza

Your Mother-in-Law is getting good care. Those leg muscle will get lots of exercise.

I didn't go couch shopping today. I was busy cleaning house and unpacking boxes looking for my cookbooks. Reorganized my pantry and put all my cookware into other cabinets, and now have my cookbooks in a section of my pantry for easy access. I have been wanting to do that for a while now, and I finally did it. Just reorganizing the kitchen for better use. Eventually we will get around to painting it, but not just yet.

I also was searching for pictures of my dog, so I could use them to have some mousepads made with him on them. Finally found the ones I wanted and went to Staples to order them. I am excited about getting them to use at work and home.

The Supermoon will be on Monday 0622-0852am. It will be the closest Supermoon since 1948. I hope I can see it.

Have fun at your banquets. Have a good Saturday.

No change for me this week. Still eating too many calories.

I didn't know you could get pictures made into mousepads. What a great idea!

Today I'm going to houseclean my living room and I should start raking leaves.

Hope the sky is clear for the supermoon.

Have a great day!

Well, I am back to my starting weight. Guess I am not serious enough yet on this effort. Back to square one for me.

Wow, you have really been working those legs on the stairs. Even more then me. Can you feel it? Working yourself to a healthier you. You must be doing a good job taking care of your family.

Today was a beautiful day, but just a bit cold. I know it will get colder. Guess I am not ready for it yet.

Had a productive day yesterday. Finished cleaning my living room and hanging new curtains and raked more leaves.

Went to a banquet and had a good time and I even won a huge basket full of horse stuff in the tricky tray. I have another banquet this afternoon. Beautiful weather today. I hope I can see the supermoon tomorrow morning.

Have an awesome Sunday!

Meals
Cranberry Pancakes
Spinach, artichoke egg souffle
Black bean enchiladas
Raspberries and cream

Congratulations on your tricky tray win! Sounds like it was a fun event.

I was up at 5AM this morning walking the dog. I only saw the moon for a few minutes before it was out of sight. So I don't know if you will really be able to see it in the morning or not. The times I provided I found on the internet for EST, but maybe they were not for our region. I am not sure. Now I hear that clouds are suppose to be moving in too for the upcoming rain. I guess we will find out what we can see in the morning.

It was a beautiful day today. I trimmed up a few trees this afternoon while my dog chewed on his bone. It was a nice afternoon, compared to the cold and frost this morning.

Have a terrific Monday!!

Your entry made me smile. I completely understand. With a buffet, it is so hard not to be tempted. :D Tomorrow is a new day.

This is the time of year when there are so many celebrations, with snacks, and feasting. It is so hard to diet. Tomorrow at work we have a Thanksgiving meal. I am bringing in a fresh veggie plate with Ranch dip. So I will eat some of that to get full, and then I won't be tempted so much by other foods. I am sure I will try other foods, but if I am already full of veggies, then the desire will not be as great. Of course it is easy to talk about it and what I should do. Now I just need to follow through.

Have a good Tuesday!

Thank you so much for the beautiful card! It really brightened up my day. I'm getting really stressed taking care of my mother-in-law and turning to food for comfort :( I will get through this....

This time of the year is really hard with all the temptations. You are smart to fill up with veggies before you hit the buffet table. I would check out the desserts first :)

Thanks again for the card!

Corinna T 11-15-2016 06:17 PM

Exercise
8 flights of stairs
1 hour walk

Meals
Hash brown, egg
Veggies, ranch dip, apple/pumpkin pie (I had to try a small slice of each)
Bean enchilada, pasta and cheese

Wow, 13 flights of stairs! You are getting your exercise. Do you have any other family members that live by who could help you out for part of the day? Perhaps they could fill in for part of a day and give you a break on the weekday or weekend. Perhaps some type of shifts. I imagine you will have many more weeks to care for her. You don't want to get burned out, or turn into an angry person.

Think of the stairs as a new exercise which you can benefit from by toning up those legs, stomach, and rear!! Think of these words as you climb the stairs:

:carrot:Slim and trim, I can grin. Slim and trim, I will win. :carrot:

I'm glad you liked your card! I really do hope you have a nice Thanksgiving.

Wishing you a terrific Wednesday!! :)

There aren't any other family members, so I'm it. But, my life got much easier yesterday. Jean went to the doctor and he told her she was cleared to do anything. She needed to hear that from a doctor. Now, she's going up and down the stairs and getting around quite well. I don't think she will drive again but I can do her shopping etc.

Have an awesome Wednesday!

I'm glad to know she is doing much better. You are a great caring person, and helped her by giving her body time to heal. You are a good person.

I think we will see our first snow flurries this weekend. No accumulation, but just colder on Sunday. I will have to get mentally prepared. :)

Still thinking about what I should make for Thanksgiving. Have you ever had those saltine crackers with caramel? My sister-in-law made some last year and they were pretty good. First time i had ever tried them. Also perhaps a green bean salad.

Hope you a terrific Thursday!

1/2 hr. evening barn chores

roast chicken, rice, string beans

You did a lot of walking yesterday! I went for a drive with Steel. I hope to go again before it gets too cold. I'm not a fan of cold weather. It's supposed to be really cold and windy here on Sunday.

I'm doing the whole nine yards for Thanksgiving. Tropical fruit, turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, stuffing, sugar peas, corn, rolls, pumpkin and mince pie.

The recipe with the saltines is called "Christmas Crack". It's really good.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Corinna T 11-17-2016 06:11 PM

1 hour walk

Meals
Egg, hash brown
Bean burrito
Veggie pizza, pierogies

Wow, you will have a big Thanksgiving dinner!!! That will be so nice for your family. I hope it all turns out terrific for you.

I think I will have to make some of the Christmas Crack (ers). It is probably not something very healthy to eat, but I know it tastes good.

I just watched a video about fat cells and how they never disappear, but it is possible to make them shrink. Perhaps with the New Year I will try counting calories instead and see how that works out. Still researching that technique.

Tomorrow is Friday. Have a good day!

Today Sam is off and we are going to finish up some outside work before the weather turns cold. I'm also going to try and get a drive in. Had an interesting drive yesterday. There were deer everywhere. It's a good thing Steel isn't bothered by them jumping around.

I bought a headlamp so I could grill in the dark. It worked really good, but I looked rather silly.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Corinna T 11-18-2016 08:29 PM

Meals
Sesame bagel and cream cheese
Veggie pizza
Veggie pizza
Cranberry juice

Not too much variety in food choices today. I guess I will have to be better about that. No exercise too. Just a very busy day with work. I guess I will have to make up for it tomorrow.

I received a headlamp one year for Christmas. I know what you mean about feeling silly wearing it. However, it is great for working in the dark. We used some this past summer when we were camping and walking in the dark. They worked great. Also nice to have in the car when you need to look at the engine or other parts when light is limited. A great tool. It allows you that one extra hand that you need free to do other things. I like them.

I can just imagine how wonderful it must be to go for a drive with Steel and then to see all the deer too. You are very fortunate to enjoy such pleasures in life. I am happy for you.

Tomorrow is weigh-in. I will be very surprised if I lost any weight this week. My eating remained the same while I exercised less.

I don't think I mentioned it, but I think I pulled a muscle in my lower back earlier this week. Either that or it is another round with a kidney stone starting to work its way through. I've had 4 nights/mornings now where it is painful to sleep and get out of bed. It becomes bearable as I am up moving around. It just has something to do with when I lay down. That is when I feel the pain. Strange. I am going to get some mineral ice tomorrow. A friend told me to try that. If that doesn't work, then I will see the doctor.

Hope you have a fabulous Saturday!!

Exercise

worked outside
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Got a lot done yesterday. Shoveled more mulch and just finished outside work before the weather change. Today I should rake the leaves away from the house and let the wind blow them away tomorrow.

I hope your back is feeling better. Nothing worse than an bad back. And I speak from experience. I had back surgery about 12 years ago. A piece of disk was pressing on my sciatic nerve. I waited 8 weeks hoping it would heal. The pain was off the charts. I finally went to a neurosurgeon and he said I needed surgery to fix it. The relief was instant, but now I'm limited to what I can lift and it gets stiff if I do too much.

No loss for me this week....

Have a great day!

A bit windy and chilly out there today! We had about an inch of snow, but it's mostly melted. Yesterday I raked the leaves away from the house. Hopefully the wind will blow them away.

I had the most wonderful day with Steel. We went on a long drive and the weather was perfect.

Since I won't be outside much today, I think I will house clean our bedroom/office. Then I will be done!

Dinner will be something in the slow cooker.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Veggie pizza slice
Bean and cheese burrito

Exercise
15 minute walk with dog and then threw ball for 45 minutes with dog
15 minute walk with dog and then 45 minutes walked field with him in training.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I meant too, but I got wrapped up doing bills for several hours. I ended up going to bed around midnight. Then I realized this morning that I had forgotten. :(

My weigh-in for Saturday showed no change, as I predicted.

You must have had a horrible time with your back there for a while. I'm glad you were able get rid of the pain. My backs feels slightly better today. I now think it is a combination of pulled muscle and kidney stone. I think I passed the kidney stone last night. The muscles in my back are still a little sore today, but the pain is now different. That is why I think it is a combination.

Wow, an inch of snow. Is that your first for the year? We didn't have any snow, but it sure felt like there would be. I even went to the window this morning to check, because I thought for sure it was out there. It just felt like it. It has been extremely windy here since last night. I wore long johns today-top and bottoms while outside.

I hope you have a fabulous Monday!

Didn't do anything outside yesterday, but I did finish up my house cleaning. Today I'm going on a shopping spree. The mall is calling my name! I might pick up a few Christmas presents. Too cold and windy to do much else. Good news...my leaves blew away!

You don't need to post everyday. I just do it to see what I've done the day before :)

Glad your back is better.

Have an awesome Monday!

I am going to have to brave the winds and walk with my dog this evening. He didn't get much exercise today, so he needs it and so do I. Hope you found some stuff at the mall. I went shopping yesterday and found a few Christmas presents. The stores were not that crowded, so I actually enjoyed it.

Got a little Christmas shopping done yesterday. We usually have a quiet Christmas. Our family is very small. Do you go away for Christmas?

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Love the smell of the turkey roasting while I'm watching the parades on TV.

Very chilly and windy today. The horses love this weather!

Doing laundry today. Sam's taking his mother to get follow-up x-rays. She's doing better and now wants to buy another car...I'm not sure she should drive again.

Have a great Tuesday!

Meals
Cranberry orange walnut muffin

Looks like you got some good exercise in at the mall. :running:

We usually try to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with our parents or siblings in some way.

Very cold weather these last couple of days. I have to prepare my body for any upcoming snow. My dog loves it though.

I am glad that your Mother-in-law is doing better. Hopefully your husband can convince his Mother that it would not be a good decision for her to buy another car.

Well it may be a few days until you hear from me again due to Thanksgiving and family gatherings. I will try to post again soon. Until then, hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Renee3 11-26-2016 06:23 AM

I think I need to buy a new scale....this one can't possibly be right :dunno:

Renee3 11-27-2016 06:07 AM

Still have some pumpkin and mince pie left :hun:

Corinna T 11-27-2016 08:41 AM

Hi Renee!

We got back home last night from the holiday to a cold house. Our combined hot water tank and house heater went out again. We called and are suppose to have someone come today to take a look at it.

This morning I went for a walk, and then came back in and sat down to the computer with a cup of hot tea and cookie. After I logged into this site, it wasn't long before I was laughing after reading your comments. I don't even want to step on the scale at this time. I know it will be frightening. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and enjoyed all the food. Lots and lots of food. I was good not to gorge myself, but I did eat a lot of food and a lot of desserts. We even got a bit of snow that evening which added to the festive season.

Seems you had a nice Thanksgiving too. I'm glad. Hope the rest of your weekend is great!

Renee3 11-28-2016 06:46 AM

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
2 hrs. cutting pine branches and decorating outside
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals
oatmeal
turkey soup
banana
salad, meatloaf, carrots, potatoes

Glad to see you back! I started decorating outside yesterday. I won't go into the woods for the next 2 weeks because of deer season so I thought I had better get my pine branches now. I will even keep the horses in the barn today. We don't allow hunting but we always get a few guys that don't care.

Guess we're in for rain the next couple of days. I'll start my inside decorating.

Have an awesome Monday!

Corinna T 11-28-2016 07:14 PM

Exercise
1 hour walk

Meals
Eggs and hash brown
Vegetables and cous cous
Sweet/sour Tofu, pasta

We began pulling out our Christmas decorations on Sunday. Artificial tree is on its stand, but we haven't started decorating it yet. Couldn't find all the decorations, but found some more tonight. Still can't find my Christmas wreath. I hope it didn't get lost in the move.

We need rain here badly. It feels like a dust bowl in some areas. Everything is drying up quickly.

I need to give my dog a bath. He is beginning to scratch a bit. Probably due to the heat on in the house. I hope that is the reason.

I know what you mean about hunters. We have a lot here too. There is always a few of them that do whatever they want. Makes it scary to be outside at this time of the year.

Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals

Went and did grocery shopping for my mother in law, then decorated the mailbox. She's doing much better. Her doctor doesn't need to see her again.

Today I should get the house decorations down from the attic. It's going to rain all day so I won't have much else to do. Think I'll make chili in the crockpot for dinner.

Does Jack like to have a bath?

Have a great day!

Corinna T 11-29-2016 05:50 PM

Exercise
1 hour walk

Meals
Egg and hash brown
Egg rolls, cabbage, and rice
Eggplant lasagna

Jack doesn't care much for the bath, but does stand still for it. He enjoys the drying/rub down with towels afterwards.

Not much rain here today, just a misting at times.

Last night it was fun walking through the neighborhood. It took me a while but I enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights and decorations.

Do you have Christmas parades in your area? Just wondering if you ever get dressed up for one with one of your horses and drive them through the parade. That would be fun, as long as they don't get startled by the crowd. I thought about doing something with my dog, but he keeps flipping off the antlers or biting on various types of clothing. I can get him to wear a jingle bell collar for about 15 minutes, but then he says enough and begins biting on it. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals

We don't have any Christmas parades around here. I don't think I would participate with a horse....too much could go wrong.

It's really foggy here this morning and we are getting more rain. I guess I will do more inside decorating. Hopefully the sun will be out tomorrow. I have people wanting to come and get hay.

I'll bet Jack looks really cute with the deer antlers. My dog wouldn't keep them on either.

Have a great day!

Exercise
One hour walk

Meals
Egg and hash brown
Bean burrito
Broccoli and pasta

Lots of Christmas activities going on this weekend. All 3 nearby towns all at once. I wish they had them on separate days. I don't think they planned that very well.

Very warm here today. It was a long work day for me. Tired, but I squeezed in a walk this evening. My husband went too. He hasn't walked with me in quite some time.

I think I have gained a couple of pounds this week. My clothes are getting too tight. That should remind me to cut back. Now if I just pay attention.

Got some inside decorating done yesterday. I'll probably finish up today after I get home from grocery shopping. Looks like the sun will be out. We got lots of rain yesterday. I'm glad it wasn't snow! I can't believe it's December....where did the year go? I think the older you are the quicker the year goes by.

Have an awesome Thursday!

Another nice family walk tonight looking at the lights on a different street. Much colder this evening. We didn't get much rain here. Still a dust bowl.

Went to the doctor today to confirm whether the pain I have in my back for the last month is kidney related or muscle. Found out it was muscle. I am glad about that. Now I have to go to Physical therapy for 3 weeks. I will have to find a way to squeeze that in with my work day.

Have a fabulous Friday!

Finished up the outside decorating yesterday. Still need to do a bit more inside.

Heard a gunshot before it was light out....I don't know how they can shoot at something they can't see....

I'm glad you found out what was causing your back pain. I wonder what caused it.

Have a great day!

I bought a Christmas wreath today, snow covered evergreen appearance with berries, pine cones, and lighted. It looks great on our green door. I also bought a outdoor nativity set with Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. They light up too. So now I am happy. My husband bought a color reflector ball. We put them all up in the yard this evening. So the outdoors of our house is decorated.

I don't know what caused my muscle problem. My doctor made it sound like it was just something that happens more easily when people age.

People hunting in the dark is scary. I will be glad when hunting season is over.

I hope you have a good weekend!

1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals

No loss for me this week. And I have 2 Christmas parties next week...I'm doomed.

I have a tree trimmer coming with a bucket truck this morning to seal a space between our chimney and house siding. We've had bats getting in the attic for a couple of years now and finally saw how they were getting in. I had to wait till they left for the winter as I didn't want to seal them in the attic. Bats are really good to have around, bit not in the attic!

Have a great Saturday!
