Morning all. Happy Friday. Been a quiet week with the boss out on vacay. The admin was out sick yesterday and is out today too. The temperature went down a bit, and today's overcast. I cycled to the train this morning, but downtown here. it's misting and a chilly wind is blowing.
Shad - Ugh re the ISP/email issues. Hope you've reactivated your email and now back in business. Re produce - here you can get pretty much any type you want at any time of year these days, but of course it's not local for much of the year, and then there's the stuff that's never local anyway. Yeh, certain produce items are just a crap shoot - one time they look great and taste great, another time they look great but have no flavor at all. Strawberries, melons, in my experience. Best to try the local items for that reason in hopes they haven't been tinkered with genetically to survive the long transport to the consumer. Looking forward to the beginning of our farmers markets!
Annie - Get well wishes to Royce, Chris, and now Sam.

Stay well wishes to Jacob so he doesn't have to miss his first baseball game!!! And if he plays, good luck to him and his team and to you - enjoy watching!
Hellos to the rest of you. Enjoy your weekend.

I was having lunch with a work buddy yesterday when we saw the news of Prince's death on the tv screen. Only 57 years old - way too young. Sad thing, he was an extremely talented guy.
Didn't do much of anything last night. Watched a tv show called "Strong" from the creators of The Biggest Loser. A male trainer is paired with a female (I don't know what level of fitness they are to begin with - most looked "average") and the 2-person teams have all sorts of physical challenges in which they compete, and of course there are eliminations, not based on weight loss progress, but on how fast (or not) they complete the obstacles/challenges in the "elimination tower". All the drama of TBL. I think I'll stick with American Ninja Warriors.

[Wonder when that comes on again?]
In anticipation (dread?) of wearing a bathing suit next Saturday, I tried on my swimsuits last night. I was very unhappy to discover that my favorite, a basic one piece, somehow had fabric damage down the center of the back. It also looked like the lining came apart from the back seam too. I'm puzzled as to what happened there. There are two other suits I just don’t care for. Then there’s one other I’m fond of, but I knew the elastic was going when I checked it a while back, so you know it’s no better now... But I might just take a chance and wear it one last time. I guess I’ll be buying another swimsuit this year. I think I’d like to buy some swim shorts this time around – made of sturdy NON-CLINGY woven polyester fabric, like what the men’s swim trunks are made out of. And a swim top, of course.
Exercised this morning. The BE I did today worked the pecs, back, hamstrings, glutes, and abs.
Felt bad that I couldn't feed or medicate doggy this morning.

He has a vet appointment that includes a blood draw (because he takes anti-inflammatories), so he had to fast.
This morning on the train, I'm not sure why I moved the way I did, but I had an open bottle of liquid foundation in my hand at the time and flung a large quantity onto the chest/shoulder/sleeve of my fleece!

Spent a good amount of time after that scrubbing away with napkins and moist wipes. And somehow the foundation soaked through one spot of the fleece to also get on my shirt. Oh well, my only meeting today is a conference call, so I'll be okay.
I heard that Sears is closing a lot of its Kmart stores and some Sears stores. I wonder when the end will finally come for that company. It's been on a downward slide for a long, long time. Sad. I have many memories of shopping at the Sears store, and of their catalogs.
Okay, I've rambled enough. Time to get this posted. TTFN.
