Guess I am the first one in today. It's Thrift Shop day so I have a bit of time here before I have to run out. Yesterday I kept telling myself to be FOCUSED and accomplish at least one thing completely instead of my usual flitting around. I got most of the laundry room organized - it looks way better. But I have a pile of heavy bedding and some bathroom rugs which need to be taken to the laundromat. I also need to schedule some time to use that hotel's pool pass(es) I purchased because before I know it, the tourists will be rolling back into town and I'd much rather have a quiet pool to myself. That's probably why I still have 2 pool passes sitting here that I bought 2 years ago

good thing they don't expire!I talked to my sister for quite a while yesterday. Poor thing - Mum is driving her batty. My Mom is really regressing into a very stubborn ill mannered child. My sister put out some chips and dip and my mom was "double dipping". When my sister brought it to her attention, my Mom got all pouty and said she was not full of germs like a dog's mouth and gave my sister the cold shoulder all evening. My mom also wipes her face on the common dish towel and one of her other "stunts" was when my sister was washing dishes, Mom decided at that very minute she HAD to have a drink of water from the kitchen sink - for some reason it was too far to walk the other way to the bathroom. So Sis stopped what she was doing, left a bunch of cutlery in the drain basket awaiting rinsing and gave Mom her drink. My Mom took 1 SIP. Yes, 1 sip for a person who was beside herself with thirst and then promptly took the cup she drank from and tossed the water all over the clean cutlery my sister had in the drain rack. Not off to the side, but all over the cutlery. I thought my sister's head was going to spin off her neck.
She said the thing that gets her the most is that my Mom does stuff that as children, we would have been reprimanded for but with Mom ill manners are totally in vogue. I think it's time I scheduled a visit to give her a break. I will fly down the end of April and I am hoping 2 friends who live up here will be travelling back down to Chicago over the summer so I can get back a few times for shorter visits. I really don't want to be away from home for 3 weeks like I have done in the past. And Mom is just too frail to come up here any more. Susie - I hope you were able to get on track again. I would have been there with you resetting the alarm. I always chastise myself when I short change myself on sleep - don't do it on purpose, the time just creeps away and I always promise myself I will get to bed earlier that night and never do. The doctor asked how long I sleep and I said about 6 hours. She asked if there is anything I can do to increase it and I said no, I wake up naturally after 6 hours no matter when I go to bed. The only time I sleep longer is if I have either done a string of days where I'm getting about 5 hours or I am getting sick. It takes me a day or two to get back on track again but I prefer to have a day like Easter where I can enjoy myself and take a break from always fussing about this calorie and that. Some of these people at WW are crazy fanatics and I could not live like that. I think too once you get in the mindset of eating more carefully - you never really drive off the rails when you go off plan. I have no interest in excessively indulging in anything any more, what about you? Are you getting a chance to enjoy wearing your new spring clothes and shoes?
Laura - when I was in TN, the gyne's there were really pushing the beauty treatments to an excess. I felt like I was going to a spa and kept thinking to myself - you are ignoring the "southern part" of the body you are supposed to be focusing on ladies
They'd push vitamins, wrap treatments, chemical peels - apparently there's lots of money in that. I thought they looked freakish. Abnormally smooth skin that was so shiny I could almost use their face as a mirror. It didn't look right. That's when I think I switched to having my GP take care of the lady bits. As you get older too, don't need as much of a focus there anyhow. Maybe that's why they are pushing the spa stuff - kind of like a dentist who loses interest in you once your mouth is full of crowns and dentures - no more natural teeth to make money on
Great score on the Reader Digest music collections. I always feel you're getting more for your money since they have alot of good music by various artists. Glad you got the car sold quickly. Annie - 400 pages to print for closing. Holy Guacamole!!!! That's alot of standing - no wonder your foot hurts. My knee still hurts but I don't seem to have quite the intense all over body pain although I have only taken one Vitamin D pill so far. I find that with vitamins, I can't say they make me feel better as much as when I STOP taking them, I notice it more. Does your foot feel better if you have it more securely supported like in a sneaker or does it not make a difference? I'm sorry you didn't get to see the kids at Easter
I guess it's hard when you have lots of family to see and still want your own time with the kids. Or so I hear
I saw on the internet some Humane Societies had Easter Egg hunts for dogs. They drilled holes in plastic eggs and put puppy treats in them and the dogs went looking for them. Maybe next year for Sassy or is she above that?
I also saw a cute commercial where the mom had the child "plant" jelly beans and on Easter, the plot was filled with (artificial) flowers and colorful eggs. The kid was astounded. I thought that was really cute. Hello to the rest of the chicks who have probably been typing while I was dawdling here. I booked a week's trip to Chicago the first week in May. Will be there for Mother's Day - Mom will be happy. I won't have alot of time to get around as I have some things with my sister that we need to attend to - am hoping to get back in June for a longer visit.
Anyway - have a good Tuesday ladies. Today is the best weather day of the week up here - going to try and spend 5 minutes in the sunshine.

I would grow them again for him if he wanted. I am happy with my farm purchased carrots.

And it’s payday.
Before I do that, I need to gas up the car and pick up a dvd I have on hold at the library.
I’m sure the need for savings for a rainy day and retirement must seem soooo far away to your son and his partner at their ages… Hope they wake up and get with the program before too long/too late.
