Eating lunch: Banana, Orange and strawberries with yoghurt.
Thought I would get on here and try to post rather than leaving it until this evening and then forgetting about it altogether. We (ODDU) and I have worked hard this morning. We had to break up a box and put it in the recycle bin. The hound got tired about 1/2 way through the box and left me to pick up the bite sized bits he had contributed to the cause. Then we watered all the pot plants and hung up the hose again, hung out the washing and pruned the roses. The wind got up then so we gave up on planting out the garden and washing the car and poisoning some weeds and came inside for a cuppa. Pup is currently guarding the loo and I am having my fruit salad lunch. DS2's partner got made redundant from her job yesterday. We've known it would happen. Funny, one doesn't think of a lawyer getting made redundant. Anyway, she is home today but is working down the hall in her bedroom and pup and I are doing out thing in the rest of the house. So the only wage coming in at the moment is the DS2's. It's interesting, the business world today. Ceejay - it is really nice to have a house rather than an apartment. There is more room, more security and just you rattling around in it. Susie - always something when you own a car. And unfortunately it doesn't come cheap, but it is better to have brakes than to skid around and fail to stop in a hurry. We have a sign in the house that says 'Welcome to our home. Where the German Shepherd runs the house and the humans pay the bills'. Annie - Men......... can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Hope the medicine proves to be a miracle worker and he is jumping out of his skin in the next half hour or so. The DS2 and partner plus ODDU and Romeo the cat, will be here until they can get something to live in on the block of land they have up the road a bit. Don't know when that will be. I don't much mind them being here - as long as they keep paying me to for food and stuff and I will miss them when they are gone, however I won't miss the cr*p and the general untidiness of them. I pick up after them only in the main rooms. I just shut the door on their bedroom and remind them that I am washing (towels) (uniforms) (socks and jocks) today (insert that which is applicable) and you ought to see the stuff come out of that room. Of course ODDU helps since he picks up anything that is lying around and takes it outside preferably to chew on, but sometimes just for fun. This morning there was a pair of DS2's work socks out there and her pyjamas! Michelle - enjoy the friends visit. Always nice to catch up. Laura - I FIXED the dishwasher. Yeehaa :cp: :cp: I looked up Google (my friend) and saw that others had had the same problem with this dishdrawer and I checked out the answers. Took the thing to pieces, cleaned all the horrible gunk out from under the plate thingy and got the impeller out. It seemed to be working okay so I cleaned it and reassembled the clean stuff, set it going and no it hadn't fixed it. So I searched again and when the DS2 came home, I had it in pieces, cleaned everything again because all sorts of gunk which must have been hidden came out again. I said we needed a piece of plastic wire just stiff enough not to bend easily but able to be pushed through small holes. So he found one and we put it through the pipes between the pump and the draining thing and cleaned and reassembled the dish drawer and lo and behold it worked. Yeehaa. Still got the oven to fix, but DS2 will get a new element for it shortly and we will give that a go as well. Just call us the Fixits If the wind drops somewhat, I will go out and plant out my seeds and maybe wash the car. Somewhere along the way I need to mow the lawns as well. I feel tired now. Maybe I will just have a snooze until it cools down a bit. |
Funny thing happened this morning. I woke up at 6.30 this morning realizing I would be late for work. I called work and N said you don't have to come in today. L is coming today. I felt about an inch tall.
Went to the family doctor today in Jonesboro. He checked my b12 level and got my injection of b12. Also was checked for a bladder infection. He gave me a three day supply of Cipro. Took things to Goodwill. Also called my aunt. She started her treatments today. ------- Shad Wow, I'm impressed with your skills. I could take things apart but could never get them together. You haven't mentioned Sunday the cat in awhile. How is handling the new animals? Annie Poor C. and not getting any sympathy. I'm like C in a way. I like to see instant results too. I hear you on the moving part. It really has been a hard decision for me. Susie Ouch on the expense of the car repairs. But I would feel more safe with good brakes. |
Laura
Had to go back and read your post. I need to do some strength and stretching exercises. I had some Firm DVD's not sure if I still have them or if I purged them. Also found a Biggest Loser DVD that I may do tomorrow. Since I'm home tomorrow I may take myself out to the gym. I really want to start the wellness program that our insurance is doing in March. Michelle It's so good that Santa can come to work with you. ---------- Forgot to mention that I lost 1 pound this week. My scales at home and the ones at the doctor's office weighed the same. |
TGIF and PAY DAY!! Money in, Money out....
Busy evening...took Ms. Sass to get her nail did. Mani/Pedi. I just cannot stand to do it myself. Yeee. Came home, brother stopped by to get his check then I was off to get hair cut. Wish I could style it as great as she does, but oh well, least of my worries. Stopped by Taco **** and got me two bean burritos, only ate 1.5 of them. Got C the very mild, generic soft tacos. Folded a load and went to bed. My body was aching badly yesterday and last night. Had to break down and take two ibuprofen (not allowed while on heart meds), but I couldn't take the pain and if there was sleep to be had, relief was needed. Bleh. Today's weird tastes were on the way to work, now mind you I had no food or drink other than water, and I had tomato soup taste in my mouth. I think these heart meds are to freak me and my system out, rather than help my heart issues. lol. So far, at least the tastes I am getting are ones I like with the exception of one day it tasted like cigarette ashes. hmmm. Have never smoked, ever! This, too, shall pass. Learned yesterday that if I step up a step or curb leading with my right foot (bad ankle), my left knee does not hurt. Wow the tricks we have to play on our bodies to feel better. ha SHeesh, just started choking with a mouth full of coffee, luckily I made it to my trash can to cough and spew the coffee. See, just weird things like this keep happening. I did an experiment yesterday with food. Because in the past once I start eating for the day, I feel like crap, stomach and body parts hurt. Soooo, yesterday I didn't eat all day. Felt pretty good for the most part. Then after eating the burritos, everything started in. Stomach, overall ache. It has to be these new meds, I am going to try the experiment again today. New diet, don't eat, or you will feel like poo. Enough rambling... CEEG...I have done the similar thing with work. Wake up on a Saturday a little later than the norm, freak out thinking it is a work day and hustle into the shower and halfway through the shower realize it is not a work day. Oh well, might as well start the day, already in the shower. lol CONGRATS on the loss. YGG SHADDIE...your lunch sounds yummy and my kind of eating. Love fruit and yogurt. I get ya on kids being a little messy with stuff around the house. My son comes home for one night and it is a major pick up the next day. Towels, wash cloth, sleep shorts (I keep a pair for him at the house), on the floor in the bathroom, bed not made, empty cups sitting around. I just let it go and clean it up. It is not often he stays over and I would rather he did and not gripe about the mess he makes. Besides, I know from his growing up how messy he is. Amazing repair person you are on the dishwasher. I would have gotten it apart, cleaned and not known how to put it back together. Enter repair tech. LAURA...feel free to gripe about the weather, makes me feel better when I gripe about it. YIKES, cold temps all weekend and 3-4" of snow starting Sunday. OVER IT! What is Outlander about? Have not even heard of it till you started posting. Good on you for doing planks, don't think my old achy body could stand it. CHELLE...glad you are liking your job and that Santa gets to go to work with you. How are you doing with the bariatric way of life? HAPPY CAKES...how is your body holding up? How did therapy go? Make it a great Friday all. Hello to those I missed or are missing. Hugs. |
Oh and today, Feb 12 is my 9th anniversary bariatric birthday. Still down 111 pounds, with only 20-25 to "re-lose".
|
Morning all. TGIF, at long last. And yay, it’s payday too! :cp:
Michelle – Enjoy the weekend with your WI friend. Any special plans? Hope the headaches have been staying away! Shad – Sounds like you (and the ODDU) kept busy yesterday. Sorry to hear about DS’s partner losing her job. Yeh, don't think about lawyers becoming redundant and ending up unemployed. That’s great that you fixed the dishwasher without outside help!! Good job, Ms. Fixit. It sounds like the element for the oven will not be terribly difficult. Woohoo! Ceejay - Did you forget it was your day off, or did you think you had to fill in for someone? I thought you mentioned that a few days ago… I hope your aunt does well with her treatments. Congrats on the weight loss!! Annie – Sorry your body was aching yesterday. Ugh on the meds causing weird tastes. Hope this all passes, but good to experiment to see when you experience this. The Outlander books are about a British woman (a nurse in WWII) who travels in time from the post-WWII 1940’s to the mid-1700’s Scotland while on holiday with her husband. How freaky would that be? There’s a lot of historical details and some steamy romance in there too. The tv series is really graphic, but seems faithful to the book. Happy WLS anniversary to you and what a success you’ve been with it!! :bravo: Hellos to the rest of you! Hope you’re all doing well. == Last night I did a BE workout and my plank for the day. I’m still working through the VHS tapes of the Body Electric shows I recorded long ago, and happily, still discovering episodes I haven’t already captured on our DVR unit, and when I work out to them, I also record them. At some point that hard drive will be filled and I will need to copy all of this onto DVDs. I slept with the new nightguard again last night and made a point of staying on my back. I was surprised I was able to do that, but I did. However, I still got the jaw pain, and it’s definitely more specific to the right side of my mouth. So it’s probably good I forgot to phone the dentist yesterday because I have better information for him now. I will call today. So today is the business day prior to a company holiday (Presidents’ Day), so our office closes at 3:00 pm. Yessssss! It would be even nicer if we got an email telling us we could leave earlier… :crossed: So tomorrow morning will be massages for me and my pals, and then we’ll get lunch. Nothing else planned. |
Hi ladies,
Sorry I haven't been around - just been a crazy busy week for me. Had a 1.4 pound loss at WW yesterday - it was a struggle. The easy 5 pounds came off when it didn't count (in between first "see if you like it session" and official sign up). Now I will have to work the program. Got my hair colored yesterday. I wanted something different so I had her do the top a lighter color and do the back a dark chocolate color. Because I had foils with highlights and low lights before, she said she had to be careful my highlights didn't break off. I liked it in the shop under the artifical "canned" lights but looking in the mirror last night it's an ashy platinum that sort of looks gray! Once before I had a problem with the hair looking different in the shop lights than in the natural light of day. Will stick with it for now and change it on my next appointment if I really don't like it. I liked the therapist at physical therapy. She poked and prodded - the muscles in my hips and thighs are tight and as sore as if I was badly bruised. She gave me some basic exercises and said to use a rolling pin along the legs or a tennis ball to break up some of the tightness but it's really painful. Most of our session was devoted to the evaluation so no real therapy this time. I start twice week next week. The problem with the physical therapy is that there are alot of people using it and only about 6 therapists in the area so the appointments book fast. When you first need it, the appointments are really erratic - the further out you book, the more likely you are to get a regular time. Next week I have a 7am appointment - it's a 30 minute drive to the office so I have to get up at 5am :yikes: to have enough time to wake up and get ready and get there on time. Had fun at game night with the girls. D make a curry chicken soup that was made with apples (sort of a grainy texture like apple sauce but the chicken and curry masked any apple flavor). It was delicious and she toned down the heat for me. It was my first experience with curry - I would try it again. Laura - my partner at the thrift shop has been trying hard to get me to read the Outlander series. She is Scottish and is over the moon about it. Thanks for the brief recap of it. Totally NOT my interest in reading. Is your DVR unit your own or supplied from the cable company? I'm asking because I didn't know if it was possible to copy some recorded shows to DVD - I'd love it if that was possible. Glad you are still finding more BE episodes to discover. I was browsing the cable guide and they had an episode airing in 15 minutes I wanted to watch to check it out but then I got distracted by a phone call and forgot about it. You seem to be a big fan of the show. That's funny that your company still regards Presidents Day as a holiday - I was doing the bank deposit on Tuesday and of course there is a sign at the bank that says - Closed on President's Day and I was thinking - does anyone really celebrate that obscure holiday any more? I know 2/12 was Lincolns BD and I think 2/22 was Washington's BD and they combined them into one holiday but is PD just for them or to honor ALL presidents? See what I mean about obscure :dizzy: Hey you get a day off work, that's all that matters. Re: your problem with the thermometers - because we are home now, I just leave it on the manual setting and adjust it myself. Which means DH who often forgets has an overly warm bedroom to fall asleep to. No problem for me as I crack open a window (yes, all year long and it has snowed on to my bed) so I can get the chill just right for me I he forgets to turn the thermostat off. I used to hate waking up 30 minutes before the alarm. An hour and you can still generally grab a bit of sleep - 30 minutes is an annoyance. I guess it makes sense that they have digital thermometers that know when the time changes. I was against all this "wireless" stuff pulsing through my body but I guess there's so much of that now that it doesn't mean a thing any more. Speaking of wireless - if any of you have the FitBit - do you find that it's inaccurate? I'm hearing more complaints about that. I think the Garmin Vevo? is supposed to be the most accurate. Still on the fence about that purchase... Annie - happy bariatric anniversary - you have done well for yourself keeping the vast majority of weight off :cp: Did you ever have any loose skin issues or did that settle down as time went on? Sorry about the weird tastes in your mouth from the meds and the achy bones - I guess they don't want you to thin the blood out too much by adding pain relievers to the mix but as you say - sometimes you just need a little sumptin' sumptin'. That is a bummer about the food upsetting you. It almost sounds as if you needed to do that Whole30 plan where you eliminate foods that cause allergies or stomach upset. It was hard to do - I only did it for 2 weeks BUT I was shocked that I had a reaction to dairy. A strong and intense bad reaction that I never suspected. And like you - I like cottage cheese, yogurt, make my own salad dressings - little sneaks of dairy that made me feel like poo. You might be having a similar experience. Can you talk to your doctor - maybe they can change some meds to ones with different side effects? I say that tongue in cheek of course because everything has a side effect but maybe something else is more tolerable. going to post this because the cat is sitting on my computer and messing up things. |
Afternoon
Laura No I thought it was my regular day to work. I usually go to bed and plan out my day. This way I know what to do when I get up. I was to sleepy to do that Wednesday night. Happy I have the fitbit Zip. I think it's pretty accurate. I have trouble with it syncing correctly with my phone and I've found that it's really using the battery. Thinking of getting one that uses the charger. Cingrats on the 1.4 pounds lost. ------- Haven't felt good today. Today I'm doing laundry today and resting. Miss my rest day on Thursday. Making a pot of soup for dinner tonight. Will also make a small pan of cornbread. I've taken a nap this afternoon, but that's okay. I've noticed that the daylight is getting longer. Happy about this. |
Back... cat is gone for the minute. She doesn't even wait to be invited in my lap - just takes a leap of faith, jumps up and settles herself in and starts hitting random keys, opening windows and such...
Ceejay - what kind of soup did you make? Now you have me hankering for some cornbread. I wish it was possible to make a 2 serving portion! Famous Dave's new restaurant has cornbread muffin tops up here but they are not as good as his original cornbread muffins. Probably a good thing or I'd eat them far too much. Thank you for the comment on the Fitbit. A few more weeks and the birds will be singing spring songs and looking for nesting places (at least by you) and then the blossoms will be budding. Funny that you woke up thinking you were late for work on your day off. Sometimes the head can be fuzzy in the morning. How nice to be able to roll over and go back to sleep! Dee and Terra - have we lost you???? Laura - you are a trooper wearing the night guard. I had one, felt like I was choking / gagging. Could not get used to it. Told DH he would have to get used to my snoring as I did his  Annie - I hope you will not go long periods without eating - that will surely mess up your metabolism. Maybe just mini meals instead??? Of course it does not help when things taste off and by what you have described it does not sound like a reaction to a specific thing like acids / citrus / tomatoes, etc. I feel for you sister  Shad - I'm glad that ODDU is doing his part to help in the garden rather than till up anything you have recently laid down. :D Sorry to hear about DS's partner losing her job. I too would not have thought that would happen to attorneys but I guess no one is immune in this world today. So you will be even more the one big happy family. :^: I can't see you being content in a house (especially yours) with stuff laying all about. How does Romeo get along with Miss Sunday? Did you see my note about the bloke who came into the shop and moved her from New Castle? He made it sound as if you lived in a fancy area. I said you were quite grounded yourself. He was a rather nice fellow. Fond of children and dogs - how can you go wrong with that? Apparently Thrift Shops down under are called Charity Shops? It does make sense as most of them support a charity of some sort. Cheers to you for fixing the dishwasher and NOT giving up when the first round did not fix it. :yay: :congrats: I think heating elements are pretty easy to install but the gunk cleaning on the dishwasher is another story. We have alot of calcium and magnesium in our water - I'm sure the washer could use a good cleaning - probably should run a vinegar rinse through it - so thanks for the reminder. Michelle - have a good visit with your friend this weekend. She is probably happy to get into some warmer weather. Will be nice to be outside. Annie - if you think C makes you crazy not minding, wait till his mind goes and he stops listening because he flits over to that crazy man corner somewhere in his head. It is DH's favorite place to park now. Makes me nuts :dizzy: DH just announced the cat is farting. Good thing she's on HIS lap now. He is talking to her nicely so he must like it :lol3: Anyway, I need to get some reading done so I'd better get off the computer. Have a nice weekend ladies. |
Morning all,
Quick one, since the wind is not blowing and it is not likely to rain so I need to get out in the yard and poison some of those dratted weeds which the neighbour so kindly keeps giving me. Quiet round here since the ODDU and his family have gone away for the weekend. They are in a place called Esk which is about 1 hour inland from here. There is a camping ground there which caters for pets. They seem to be having a good time from what I have seen on facebook. Speaking of facebook, I put a share on there for a friend of mine who is apparently doing a delete of people with whom she no longer has contact. I have no intention of deleting anyone off my page so don't worry about the copy paste business if you see it. I just wish I could figure out how to get past some of the posts where I see a friend of mine has responded to a friend of theirs and it has absolutely nothing to do with me. The day is dawning fine and clear - despite the fact that we have two cyclones off the coast in our area. Could do with a bit of rain but it is all going north of us. And oh poop the wind has arrived back again so no spraying this morning again. Happy - don't know how the man from Newcastle thinks I live in state in a fancy area. Couldn't be more working class than here. Obviously hasn't been to Brisbane/ Logan for a long time. I live in a small house, on a small block, in a normal suburb - not unlike that area you were in when I visited in Chicago. We have a variety of Charity shops, thrift shops and 2nd hand places which although called different things are basically the same. Some are even called Op Shops (Op = opportunity). Well done on the 1.4lb loss. A loss is a loss even if you can't see it yet. Ceejay - Sunday the cat is alive and well. She tolerates the dog up to a certain point and then she will tell him who is the boss. She is getting very old and is not looking as good as she was, but she is still here and still chatting away telling the world how badly she is treated. She almost completely ignores the other cat. Speaking of which, they are now getting very physical and vocal about breakfast. I guess I ought to go get them some. Mine will not come till much later. I have to do some work before I can get breakfast!! So off I go to start the day. Will be back later for the rest of the personals. |
Morning
The "polar express" that was expected today may fizzle out before it gets here. I hope so. I'm not ready for any freezing stuff or temperatures below 20 degree's. Been having some weird dreams lately. Last night I dreamed that I was back in the old neighborhood where I grew up and a huge ball came speeding through space that almost touched the ground and then hurled back into space and disappeared. A few minutes later it touched the street with an impact that I'd never felt before. Bounced a couple of times and hurled back into space. I asked my cousin what was that. She said maybe a small planet. It was beautiful. Wish I knew what that meant! --- Happy I made veggie soup and put left over ham in it. This exchange diet has been really good for me. I'm not supposed to have more than 4 ounces of meat per day. I've been eating way to much meat. Soup is an easy way for me to get in my veggies. Shad Seem like ODDU likes to help. |
Afternoon all.
Happy – Congrats on the weight loss. So two weeks in, you’re doing great! Keep up the good work. :) --- So have you decided if you like your hair color? ---I’m glad you like your PT person. Let’s see if you still like her once the work begins, LOLOL.--- Yummm, love curry. I might have to try my hand at making it at home. When we go out for Thai food, we often get a Panang curry dish. --- Re the Outlander books, yeh, those can be a very specific taste and wouldn’t appeal to everyone. I probably went into it thinking it would be fluff, and kept reading because it was different and interesting to me.---Re Presidents’ Day – my company gives our US locations 8 holidays plus 2 floating holidays. Seven are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Day after, and Christmas. The 8th can vary depending on how the dates fall. If the 4th of July or Christmas fall on, say, a Tuesday or Thursday, that 8th day could be assigned on a Monday or Friday to bridge the one day gap in between the weekend and the holiday. This year, The 4th is on a Monday and Christmas is Sunday, so that 8th holiday was determined to be Presidents’ Day. It’s nice to have a day off in the long period between the New Year's and Memorial Day holidays. Of course, one can use the floaters however you want as well. I just tack them onto my vacation day total and don’t treat them any way in particular, though they do get used before vacation days, because they cannot be carried over. And nope, I don’t know if P Day is just for Washington and Lincoln or for all of our Presidents. ---Re the fitbit. I have a Flex. When I first got it, I was sort of put out that it called the activity it tracks “steps”. Wearing it on my wrist, it could be steps, such as when I swing my arm when I’m walking. But it seems inaccurate (to me) to record non-step arm movements as activity. So I now wear my flex on my ankle and I think it’s fairly accurate that way. –Re the nightguard – I’ve been wearing one probably almost 20 years now, so I’m accustomed to the typical one. It’s this new one that’s giving me trouble. Shad – Nice you and the cats had some alone time this weekend. I think you need it with that kind of arrangement. Ceejay – I’m happy for the longer days too. :) It was very chilly here Friday and yesterday. Thankfully it wasn’t too windy yesterday when I walked the dog. Today we’ve got snow – up to about 3 inches. But the temps will be more normal this week, and even above normal later in the week. Fingers :crossed: the forecast doesn’t change! Hellos to the rest of you! == Yesterday’s massage was nice. Not the best one I’ve had, not the worst either. None would be “worst” actually, LOL. Afterwards, I waited for D’s 80 minute massage to finish by quickly popping in to Kohl’s (a couple doors down) and buying a couple pairs of wool blend socks. I noticed a couple pair of my old ones were losing the elasticity in the ankle band and wanted to replace them. We had a late-ish breakfast at a nearby restaurant that was tasty, and afterwards I hung out at D’s house for a little bit. When I got home, I walked doggy. Since the seafood restaurant didn’t have a wait when bf phoned them, we headed over for dinner. By then, there was a short wait, and it was really filling up and the wait was a bit longer than we were told, but not by much. What a wonderful dinner – crab legs and onaga fish (a type of red snapper), a mai tai, and I couldn't resist eating not one, but two of those garlic and butter rolls. Thank you, employer. (I chose a gift card to this restaurant - Bob Chinn’s Crab House – as part of my service anniversary gift.) After that we went to the big appliance place nearby and bought water filters for our fridge and a new thermostat. I fell asleep on the sofa and dragged myself off to bed at around 11. That pillow I bought has good neck support, but the puffy sides do not work for me when I want to sleep on my side. Dang. It won't work for me. This morning was lazy. I watched a couple episodes of Fargo Season 1. Pretty entertaining. I will probably watch another shortly while I have some laundry going and while I wait for bf to return for lunch. Bf went out to buy gas, pick up doggy’s prescription and to BBB to order the new electric griddle we wanted to replace our George Forman. We didn’t use the BBB gift cards to buy the comfy kitchen runner (they didn’t have the size/color we wanted), so we’re using it for this griddle. That’s about it. I was able to get an appointment for the dentist tomorrow morning, so I suppose my holiday will be a wee bit productive. That’s it for me. Off to cut and paste and post. |
Busy weekend for me. I just got caught up on all the posts and it looks like we all are busy someway or another.
I'm of work today for Presidents day. I have a hair appointment at 2 pm. Until then I'm "piddling" around the house. I've gotten away from using my bike so I plan to start that back up today and I think I will start throwing the treadmill in a couple of days. Because I was off on Friday, I worked a bit later in the office and missed TOPS. I think it was ok, because I believe I might have been "up" a wee bit. Annie: I saw your comment about your bad knee not hurting when you step up on the curb and things first. That is really the way you are supposed to do it. My ortho guy told me bad knee up, and good knee down. So, when stepping up use the bad knee first, when stepping down, use the good knee down. I think it has to do where the pressure is going during the movement. When you go up, the pressure is on the other knee because it is holding you, then vice versa when stepping down. How is C feeling with a few more days of meds in him? Great job on keeping off most of your weight loss from the surgery! :carrot: That is something to be proud of! Happy: When I was in pt, I used a tennis ball and rolling pin too. It does help and yes it hurts a lot at first. They do have "foam rollers" you can use. They aren't soft foam but hard. I haven't used one but I have seen them. About your fit bit question for accuracy. I'm really not sure, but I figure if it is the device I use all the time then I just go by it and it is my "reality". I'm just now charging mine and going to get back to really using it to motivate me. Before, I had to come home and synch it to my computer to see the results as my phone wasn't one I could synch it with. My new phone is. Congratulations on the weight-loss at WW! Ceejay: Congratulations on losing that 1 lb! I saw in another post you weren't feeling well. I hope you are feeling better today Shad: How nice you were able to fix the dishwasher! I am the "fix-it" person in this house but I'm not one to be too adventurous with it. I have a list of things I want fixed or replaced this spring when we start doing some of those things. I have a "Handy Man" who I hire and he isn't too expensive. My DH doesn't like to even try those sorts of things and really it's better for our marriage to get someone else in to do it! When the Handy man comes, I usually watch him and ask questions and he teaches me on what he is doing. I figured someone in this house has to know how to do some things! Laura: I'm glad you enjoyed your massage. I was at the Mall on Saturday with a friend who wanted to run in for a minute to pick up something for her granddaughter. We were in JC Penny and I picked up a couple pairs of their boot socks. I just love them! So warm and soft. I haven't been to Kohls in awhile. I need to go in and just window shop. I see the stores are putting out "spring" things. Seeing pretty clothes helps get me re-inspired to keep losing weight. I better get to moving. I left the bathroom until today to clean as I wanted to organize the closet in there and I do that best when I'm left alone and by myself. Then I will need to get a shower, but I won't do anything with the hair...just put a hat on and head to the hairdresser. Have a great day everyone! |
Happy Monday, even tho being a part of the bank, we don't get this day off, only the bank side does. Boo. We do get the bank holiday Veterans day. Don't know how they decide which we get and which we don't.
Hope everyone had a marvelous Valentine's day, C gave me flowers and a sweet card. I gave him a card from me and one from Sass and the Blue-ray dvd Spectre. Even tho we saw it at the movies, as many of you know he is a dvd collector. Probably has 1500 in his possession. I should really take a pic of "Cs" room filled with DVDs. Yikes. This weekend was very nice. My bro from Illinois was in town. We joined them for dinner on Saturday night and then lunch on Sunday. All of my siblings made the lunch on Sunday. Posted a pic of us on FB for those of you on FB. I try to get a "sibling" pic every time we are together as at our ages, and Michael's days being numbered, I want to savor all the memories possible. Church was nice on Sunday as our senior pastor is moving on to another mission in life, opening a Hope House on the Indy's east side. It will be a place for addicted/abused etc, persons to go. He has been the pastor at our church for 33 years. Our Jr pastor is moving up to Sr position. Ok by me, he is a great preacher and I actually favor him over the past Sr. He will start doing the sermons next week. We had a 3" snow yesterday afternoon. Roads were not too bad this morning, most major roads were moved. Our neighborhood roads our awful, but just drive slow. We are expecting another snow tomorrow evening of around 2" then 60 degrees on Friday. Welcome to Indiana, if you don't like the weather wait a day or two, lol. I will come back for personals. Hugs |
So glad all this winter stuff has missed us so far. I was expecting some ice this morning but that didn't materialize either.
----- Annie It's always a nice time when your siblings get together. I'm hoping once I get moved to Missouri that my sibling from Texas will come for a visit. Susie I'm glad to see you taking some time for yourself. You definitely deserve it. Laura I fell asleep on the sofa last night. I know I needed the extra sleep. Woke up at midnight and got in the bed. |
