COWPATH----that is what we call the roads in my province.the ones without the divided highways---the ones where the 18 wheelers blow you into the ditch or flood your windshield when it is raining. keeeeee weeeeeeeee----my alone time is my favourite time of any day=====you must go to bed at nine and get up at 2am when he retires----there is no other solution I AM SO HAPPY THAT WABBY IS BACK---MOOING AWAY WITH GLEE AT HER BEAUTIFUL BRAND NEW UDDERS!!!!CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE PICS!!!!! seriously wabby!!!so happy for you!!!!! as far as poor lushie goes--------i hate entertaining as well and try to avoid it as best i can but this week i am being forced to do it------------the ONLY thing that will save me is the NEW mike's LIMEade--------i have a few cases in the fridge and will use them prn.[any nurse know if that was the right abbreviation???] painty--------THE MEANING OF LIFE---------------eat all you can now for we can't know for sure if there is food in the afterlife.--------------i must rethink this question and get back to you!!! ohhhhhhhhhhh---------hi cherry!!!GET COWPER BACK HERE WITH MORE INFO

Lohani 08-18-2003 03:21 PM

Bagzie, I feel you should have supported my suggestion that Kiwi drug her DH. Now he is spending his time with her, next he'll be wanting to know what's going on in her life. That is only a step away from him discovering that she doesn't do anything and expecting HER to get a job.

katrinabgood 08-18-2003 03:53 PM

pssssst...Bagzz...it's PRN!

Bagzz 08-18-2003 04:32 PM

THANKS katrina---for some reason,i thought it might be prn---but then i thought that "rn" meant registered nurse--oh anyway!! thank you---you responded in true nurse fashion----AS PER NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiwonk 08-18-2003 05:11 PM

So glad you changed the subject, Bagz, I was getting mighty of that one... Mike's Limeade?? That is very exciting! I must try that right away!

Next weekend we are going to the Bangor Folk Festival allllll weekend. Anyone want to join us?

Wabbit, yay!! I'm so happy you are doing well! Congrats on feeling "regular sized"

OOh, Loha, DH would totally enjoy being drugged. Good idea!

Later, gators
Kiwi

Bagzz 08-18-2003 09:10 PM

maybe Lohani and i will meet you at the folk festival, lure dh away and drop qualudes in his Labatts Light. peachbag is deliberately ignoring us so she can set up her sexy new boudoir. i have a strange idea----------anyone here want to go on a diet this september?????

Kiwonk 08-18-2003 10:33 PM

Go on a what? :hun:

All right, I'll go on a diet if you cook  Remember that Amy girl from Texas? She was cooking meals for her husband and someone else so that they could diet. Or something like that.

I'm thirsty. Could you please pass me a Mike's?

Where's that Cowprincess?

Kiwi

SugP 08-19-2003 02:41 AM

8:36 a.m. my time

Now that I've burned a few calories LMAO at your hilarious posts, I can go eat breakfast.:D

Dh went back to work yesterday. Ds7 starts school again Thursday and ds10 Friday. I'm almost freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! (not that I don't adore my family or anything, but you KNOW how it is)

Cowpernia 08-19-2003 07:54 AM

Hey. There's a guy on the radio now talking about me.

He's saying that if you lose a spouse, you grieve for that person. If you get left, kicked out, Herbieized, you lose self-esteem and go through humiliation that creates depression.

So ... I am not cheerful. The morning of closing my car broke down and cost more than I make in ... a long time. It ran fine for two days. Haven't seen it since. The mechanic doesn't know what's wrong with it now. I am driving an old truck that Herbie loaned me. To get this d*****d truck, I had to get someone to drive me to his office (more than an hour's drive) and he's reminding me that he needs it back. This is the humilitation that comes from living my life and trusting men who come through it.

I would give Lushie a big hug but I'd probablyn make her feel worse.

So there. Blah. I don't even know what prn means.

Lohani 08-19-2003 08:32 AM

I feel better already due to hug. You are right, Peaches, finances(and in my personal case, laziness) give men the upper hand. My grandmother always said that first and foremost, men and women make a "deal"...a financial deal. It used to be that honorable people could not go back on that deal without feeling the scorn of the whole community. Now, men can walk away with everything without a backward glance. We women sure have come a long way. But be strong. The darling nephew makes all of this worthwhile.

Sugar I am so HAPPY your DH went back to work. You will return to us and your sanity. Tell us all about all the projects you've completed.

How are you, Wabby???? Please describe regular sized...A,B...etc? Linda is still no slouch in that dept.

Katrina, are you new? Are you friends with Painty? Please explain what makes you come our way. (Hint: remarks about how charming and witty we are wouldn't hurt) Most of us like new people.

I'm into it, Bagz. We have to figure out a way to deliver a regular 10PM dose to him so that Kiwi can have insomnia in peace. It is the least we can do.

Kiwi, you have been doing so many fun and interesting things this summer. You can be out cultural attache. (accent on e)

Now, on to the diet question. Before I saw you guys this morning, I made myself a decent breakfast of eggs...twice. The dog nibbled at the first one and I had to throw it out. I would be happy to start. My plan is, as usual, no sugar, protein breakfast...count points. Nothing three hours before bed...was that the old rule????? WATER!

DD has gained weight due to spending her summer with her knee up, she will have it off by mid-September..doesn't that kill you??? Anyway, she will be my partner until then.

Maybe do a little EXERCISE????? What is that???? I can't go to Curves due to shoulder injury. See, I'm typing...am I self-defeating or what? I have a good dr who is sending me for an MRI and to a neurologist for an electrical test for my carpal tunnel. But I keep typing away.

DD goes to the dr this am to find out final diagnosis. Her preliminary diagnosis is Pigmented Villinodular Synovitis. I've looked it up on the internet, not good. However, he says that in someone her age it is not likely to reoccur as it usually does on adults. Now we will see if he was right...everything they removed from her knee was sent out for tests....we'll see. I'm a little nervous. This has changed her life so much, I hope it's over.

I have to go rouse my troops. Remember my morning routine??? Maybe I'll do that today, too.
L

Who me?

Not new, just an occasional lurker. I stumbled across your witty and charming little thread one day, intrigued by the many facets of cowdom. You guys seem like a pretty tight little group, so I was leary about butting in.

That is...until I could be of assistance with the medical lingo!

BTW, I'm not a nurse, but I do work with them and speak their language...

As in, RX: Take 1 Mike's LimeAde q1h and prn to alleviate sobriety.
(every hour and as needed)

PS...I don't know Painty, but I did like her sheep!

Okay...I don't want to overstay my "welcome"

That is, if there was one...

Wabby 08-19-2003 10:49 AM

Hey there Kitty Kat, if you can give good Mike's directions, you're welcome to hang out.

Lohani, even when you're down you make me laugh. And I need some laughing. DH is not being the nurse that I need. He's acting like a baby. He's pouting because his oversized toys have been remodeled, he worked in his shop the first day I was home, he went fishing all day the second day and he went out and bought himself a new fishing boat some where in there while I was drugged. I don't have the energy for this. He's expecting me to go to the beach over Labor day weekend and actually go out fishing with him. I told him I could probably go and lay around the cabin but don't count on me for fishing. He keeps insisting I'll be just fine. And it looks like I'm probably going to be about a 36C.

Kiwi, I say drug him. Of course in my present state of mind, I might not be the one to take advise from in the spouse department.

Sugar, congrats on getting the boys out from underfoot. Of course we know you adore them all, but sheesh! they wear you out.

According to my scale, after at least 2 days of no solid food, and 5 lbs. being surgically lopped off, I weigh 2 lbs. more than when I went in. Go figure. I'm eating for health right now. new concept. I need lots of protein, dark green veggies, tons of water. No calorie counting. Just as much food as I want, but it has to be good fuel.

I'm going to go try to figure out how to wash my hair without raising my arms over my shoulders.

Bagzz 08-19-2003 11:47 AM

WELCOME!!!KATKOW!!!

i am not sure if you read the instructions we gave when Paintercow joined up,but i do remember that a thick skin was a help-----------some of the KOWS are viscious-----------and they practically NEVER stay on their diets----with the exception of Miss WabbyCow of the redesigned bovinity. As i read thru other forums i find that the topics often stay on weight loss and excercise and if i need a fix of that i know where to get it------------it has been mentioned that we all met at the Cybermom and when it closed down we set up shop here----sort of nomadic gypsy cows of the internet. at any rate, you are more than welcome here,as we love to hear another's point of view DO WATCH OUT FOR MISS TURKEY CARCASS AND MISS LOW HEINE----------THEY ARE ACTUALLY BULLS IN DISGUISE. MISSY WABBY!!!---YOUR DH SHOULD COME HERE AND WE WILL LOOK AFTER HIM QUITE NICELY--------SHAMELESS!!!!!! BIG LOL ON THE REDISIGNED TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAME GOES FOR YOU COWPAT----------HERBIE IS TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiwonk 08-19-2003 01:15 PM

And if you understood any of that, Kat, you're a better woman than most! Welcome, feel free to HHS at our silliness!

Congrats on your return to routine, Sugar, I am so jealous of you!! Can I come live with you for a while? We could drink coffee and discuss how we should lose weight someday. When are you going to N.S.? DH has been researching his family tree and he has come up with a whole boatload of relatives from Nova Scotia. Some of them were there when the big (French? Belgian?) armaments ship exploded in the harbor of Halifax, levelling part of the city. Sometime around WWI apparently.

Thank you so much for your support, Lushie-Lo, you all are so understanding. Your grandmother was a very wise lady. I've never heard it put quite that way, but that's so true. If people would understand that the "deal" is part of the point of marriage, maybe it would be easier to figure out what it takes to make it work! I think most people go into marriage with no clear idea at all of what they're doing. Even smart people like us!

Sorry to hear about the car, Cowie. I don't know why things can't run smoothly once in a while, eh? I think next summer you should send DS to car mechanic school instead of these mind-expanding dealies. Did he like the course this year? It was at Duke, right? Did he have to write a thank you note to anyone? Oh, that reminds me, DD needs to write a thank you note to the Music Boosters who gave her scholarship $ for music camp.

I signed DD up for driver's ed :yikes: -- it starts the beginning of September. By October, we'll be hanging on to the Oh-Sh** handle, stomping our feet on the imaginary brake, and doing a lot of deep breathing. Oy.

Funny you should say that about your DH, Wabbit. My DH expressed sympathy for him when I told him (quite briefly, of course) about your operation. He back-pedalled real quick when he saw that look in my eye, but you know that's the male reaction. He'll get over it, I guess. Maybe you could point out to him that if you start feeling better with his help, he might reap the advantages of a happier wife! I can't believe he bought a boat. How typical.

Well, I ought to find something useful to do today. I know I have to go grocery shopping -- I used up pretty much everything in the house in the past several days because I was putting off going. Ick I hate grocery shopping. I want one of those online grocery shopping services to deliver food to my door.

Here's what I will aim for (but not before school starts -- that gives me a week) -- eating breakfast every day. Adding vegs and fruits to our diet, plenty of water, some kind of exercise every day and no chowing down at midnight. I've got to start going to bed earlier too. June said so.

Kiwi

Lohani 08-19-2003 02:08 PM

Gee Kiwi, doing anything every day is exhausting. I agree, though...we should eat in a more healthy way.

DD's diagnosis is confirmed. This is bad news, but not as bad as RA, which is what he thought it was at the beginning of the summer. This means she can't do dance or do sports, possibly never. It reoccurs about 50% of the time. She has at least three more weeks in the immobilizer then physical therapy, which she likes..since she likes everyone at the physical therapy gym. They consider it a plus that if it keeps happening again, they can eventually replace the knee.....that's good??????? Ach.

Wabby, you are going to have to get him back big time for this one. Maybe you could buy yourself something really expensive when you are recovered.

I'm off to buy some healthy food. I've looked for an online grocery service, but none deliver to my house. It is cheap....and I'll bet I'd save without all of those impulse purchases.

bye, L

muffie 08-19-2003 03:18 PM

Hi everyone! Just stopping in to say I'm glad Wabby made it through the ordeal okay. I would love to have about 5 lbs taken off my chest!!:dizzy:

Oh gosh, I didn't mean every day! :faint:

Let's face it, those are just goals to work on. Kind of like keeping your sink shiny. Sometimes I do that too. :snail:

My head hurts. I ate a home-grown cucumber for lunch. I don't think that is related to my head hurting, but hey. :headache:

Kiwi

Cherry Cow 08-19-2003 05:22 PM

Poor Lushlet... I'm glad it's not RA, but this thing doesn't sound that much better. Did she get it from sports, is it hereditary, or did it "just happen?"

Wabby!!! Welcome back!!! Pain pills are wonderful.

Peachpern, sorry you're in such a position.

Bob the cat still can't walk. He can stand for a few minutes.

I hit a new low this week with 174 on Sunday. Woo! Of course, I ate like a maniac yesterday and today... bagels and donuts and pizza, oh my. But I'm also running. I can run a 9.50 mile right now! And three miles in a row, but I run that slower.

Wabby 08-19-2003 07:31 PM

Cowper, sorry to hear of your car's recent difficulties. Isn't that just how it always happens? when you could use a few extra $$'s for all the moving expenses, something major has to break. Don't let the Herbie get you down. He's just a necessary evil at this point.

Lohani, also extremely sorry to hear that DD will be sitting out all those fun teenager activities. Hope she's in the 50% that don't have a recurrence.

Cherry, you go girl, on the 174. Go do something nice for yourself. A massage sounds good.

DH is digging himself in deeper. He picked up the new boat today and left to go try it out without even telling me good bye. He bought me a bunch of lean cuisines so he thinks his cooking duties are all taken care of. I'm going to sit him down tonight and explain that I'm supposed to be eating lots of protein and fresh vegetables, and since I can't go get them myself, then he'd better do it or he's going to be a very unhappy camper. What very expensive item can I buy for myself, Lohani?

Thanks Muffie, for the good thoughts, actually I feel like I get more off my chest here than anywhere else! I don't know what I'd do without youz cows.

PainterWoman 08-19-2003 09:43 PM

What I've learned from the Cows

KatyKow--
This group seems to know each other VERY well... and they assume everyone knows what they are talking about. Sometimes they don't... at least that's what I find out when I actually ASK. Think is, they are funny.... and more of them seem to be of a "certain age" than on some of the other forums, so I felt more at home here... Of course, some of them post under more than one name.... which took me FOREVER to figure out. D'oh. How stupid was I?!!

Plus they are not quite so over the top when it comes to the scales, weight lifting, counting points, etc. etc. It's about bovine friendship. And they are definitely charming and witty.

I was feeling poopy and vented on the journals... but am painting cows now. I'll show you when they/it/she's ready.

Wabby... so sorry your DH doesn't understand the Florence Nightengale routine. A sweet friend of mine is doing the same as you tomorrow.... AND her MD found some "nodule" on her LUNG as part of the work up prep.... As Cowie found out.. some times it's one dam' thing after another.

Cowie-- So sorry to hear about car and manipulative, unhelpful helper. AND I gather you are surviving, which means YOU ARE NOT DOWN AND OUT YET. Hooo Rah. I'm pulling for you.

LoHi.... sorry about daughter's condition and change in direction and expectations..... Bet she's on an emotional rollercoaster along with the rest of the family. I wish her (and the rest of your family) strength, courage and TENACITY for the challenges ahead.

Off to the paint pot.

Cowpernia 08-19-2003 10:53 PM

I am just SO FLATTERED TO FIND that Painty is painting a portrait Of MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But what is this "certain age" crap? Are we back to the dark and menopausal green shoe days?

On top of all this moving, car problems, ds's new school in another town ... I applied for THAT job which looks like it's not about to materialize. My friend who helped me get the loan for the house told me "they probably won't hire you because of your age." What little self-esteem I had (anyone read The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis? I was the the midget hanging onto the ladder and disappearing into it) was smashed by that helpful statement.

When I met Herbie, I lost weight and firmed p and looked and felt great. It took not eating and exercising. That seems so impossible now and WHILE I'm b****ing about him ... he prevented me from continuing that. Honestly. He insisted INSISTED on buffet breakfasts on weekends. The kind where there are hot bars and omelet bars and dessert bars and more. It blew the whole diet thing but he said "You can make it up." ANDDDDDD he wouldn't let me exercise. He said, "Wait and do it with me." and would be upset if I exercised without him yet he never wanted to. So I became a failure.

Katy, your job here is to skip this and not comment. And how nice to hear from Muffie. Always interested in being reminded she's not in jail at this time.

Lohani 08-19-2003 11:02 PM

I am getting bad press on ebay. Some woman tried to charge me $14 shipping and handling for a pair of dirtbike pants. I balked and now she's down to $10, which is reasonable. I know she's going to give me bad feedback...my life is ruined.

Who has two names? I have completely changed my identity. I used to be a jersey cow...Now I'm a Pakastani cow. I have a new accent which Peaches would probably describe as "not THAT harsh" isn't that how she described my voice all those years ago. In fact, I hate my voice...I just had to tape a new message for my voicemail and boy, is it horrible.

Cherry!!!!!!! Success!!!! Poor Bob. Did we know about this...what does the vet say? Have you tried Pilates? I like it. I never get to do it, but I like it. I can't believe three miles...amazing.

Wabby, jewelry is nice...so's clothing. Winter is coming. Maybe an extremely stylish coat? Maybe one of those three tiered diamond necklaces that will show off your new C's. The obvious punishment would be to cut him off, but in your condition I doubt that the mardi gras is coming to town anyway.

Are the cows in our honor???

We are fun, aren't we? Aren't you glad you stuck around? Some of us are more menopausal than others. If by a certain age you mean old hags...that is NOT true of our adorable Cherry or Sugar. Wabby is approaching the hill. But now that she isn't all saggy, she'll look like she's 19 again.

I just sent my ebay payment. Is she going to stiff me? I really want the pants...they are yellow and black and DS13 LOVES them.

There is no explanation for DD's knee. It starts as an arthritic condition but then develops nodules. I'm happy with the DR. He's at Children's in Phila and U of Penn. He talked to her...which is good. I hate when they talk past her to me...it makes it hard to take notes PLUS you know how irritated some women can be....you can imagine DD when she feels she's being treated like an idiot.

OOps the daily show is on...my favorite..bye

katrinabgood 08-20-2003 07:49 AM

KatyKow...I LIKE that!

Thanks for the welcomes...

In response to Bagzz's advice re: a thick skin...yes, I do have that...perhaps the layer of fat underneath helps to keep it that way...

I've been lurking enough to know that Cowpernia means business, so I will oblige her and just say "no comment."

For now...

Darling_Peaches 08-20-2003 08:54 AM

I have nothing to say again. Just wanted to post from the office and confuse people. Well, nothing to say but I feel so frustrated with what is happening to my niece. The worst possible thing that can happen to any of us is for our children to be hurt.

Wabby, I'm glad you're good, too. Bathing suit pictures will be appropriate, I think.

Bagzz 08-20-2003 10:49 AM

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!i LAUGHED OUT LOUD!!! at Katykow's very ASTUTE comment re our darling Cowpeachia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! high five there cowser!@!!!!!------------- the lushette is one lucky girl to have the best mommy on the eastern seaboard looking after her-[despite the girth of her sausages}PAINTY!!!!!----cherry and sugar are positvely babies---they have at least ten years before peri-mental awareness...............some of us are way too old to have children but we insisted on it anyway, like Joan, former Cow, Lunden.

Wabby 08-20-2003 11:08 AM

Peachpie, bathing suit pictures of me would not be appropriate for any occasion. They can only work with what I've got, you know, and although parts of me are new and improved most of me is not. I'd be happy to send you the bikini picture of me in 1979 that DH still keeps posted up in his workshop amongst all his former car pictures. he he poor man. At least he's not one of those men who plaster their garage with bimbo pictures like my friends husband does.

Bad press on ebay, well your life is ruined. Worse than being on the front page of the Enquirer. A beautiful new winter coat sounds like a good idea. But somehow doesn't compare when we're talking payback for a $15,000 boat, now does it? I'm thinking new wardrobe. Too bad I'm the one who has to pay the bills around here. It makes me the responsible one. And no, the Mardi Gra ain't even thinking of coming to town for a long time.

I hate my voice too. It sounds so naselly. We should all take southern belle voice lessons from the southern Peach.

Bagzie are you still in the fog?

Wabby 08-20-2003 11:13 AM

Bagzie! you must be out of the fog! I gotta admit Katykows comments just about made me spit out my coffee too! I think I like that girl.

I'm thinking a live-in cook

I'm very impressed with your under 10 minute mile, Cherry! How do you stand the running in the heat? I went out for a little kayaking yesterday, paddled for about 45 minutes. It was lovely. It was choppier than usual so I had to pay more attention to the rudder than usual, but it was very enjoyable. And I'm getting better about getting out of the kayak! The last 2 times I went, I had to basically crawl out onto the dock (DD thinks this is hilarious, of course), so this time I managed to hoist myself out in a less embarrassing way (not that there's anyone to watch me, but hey, dignity is dignity).

We're a certain age? Oh nooooooooo! Anyway, I'm 22. Sometimes 30, but never more than that. Okay I'm 47, but you can't tell from inside here

Just to say, Pern is not exaggerating about Herbie. I can totally see him sabotaging your whole healthy routine. Killing you with "kindness" , basically. We all need partners that really encourage us, but how many really do? Even the most sympathetic, supportive spouses seem to have a way of unmotivating us. And some are downright damaging.

You know, Lohi, cats are not that good at doing Pilates. I don't think that will help Bob. Real bummer about DD's knee. Are they saying she can't do sports because it might make this recur, or because it won't heal enough for her to be really active? I know this must break your heart. I'm sure she will find a way to deal positively with it.

Later, switching computers.

Kiwi

Bagzz 08-20-2003 01:39 PM

i am out of the fog,but flylady made me time my computer surfing and my fifteen minutes are up----------------my house is a Cowtip

muffie 08-20-2003 03:02 PM

My sentence was shortened. I will leave it up to your imagination as to how I accomplished that!;)

Kiwonk 08-20-2003 08:30 PM

Muffie, you're a hoot!

SugP 08-21-2003 03:12 AM

yahoooo!

One very nervous second-grader down, one cool, laid back fifth-grader to go. As of Monday, the house is MINE!!!!

Hi Muffers! How's the Punkin? She must be quite the little lady by now.

Cowpernia 08-21-2003 11:48 AM

I think it is so wonderful that Painty and KatyKow have joined us. Both seem to be smart, witty and equal to be abuse that Wabby gives out.

I am equally disappointed that they, like alllllll those other cows I know and love, WILL NOT POST ON THURSDAY. Why is that? What is this avoidance of Thursday???? This is MY DAY OFF and posting would be a good thing. For me.

I have a headache. There are boxes and stuff from boxes all over. DS can only find one pair of pajamas and he owns many.

The car is back. $220. Yay car.

Now the truth. I am really Lush. I will prove it. Here is my list:

Clean out a box
done
Clear the closet floor done
Move the box camping stuff into the pantry done

Clear the kitchen counter except for the crockpot and concrete pig
done

Do five minutes of exercise
done
Then I will come back and check to see who has posted. I am sending cookies to whoever it is. They will contain blueberries from my front yard.

Question:::: My new stainless steel sink is smooth in the sink part and bumpy-liney on the top and the top has RUST COLORED SPOTS on it. Surely a sink would not rust. What am I doing wrong here????

Wabby 08-21-2003 12:46 PM

Stainless steel will stain. Buy Barkeepers Friend. It looks like comet, but it is not. Barkeepers Friend. It will take off the rust.

I'm sitting in a filthy house. DD promised to take out the trash and wash a load of towels when she got home from work. She didn't come home last night. I'm not worried about her, but I am worried about having no towels. DH promised to take out garbage several times. He has not. I am vowing to never do another thing for these ingrates. They will pay.

Kiwi, kayaking sounds like fun. I may add it to my list of things to do when I'm better.

Here is my list for the day:

Take shower.
wash hair (have to do it in sink, can't manage in shower)
dress
nap
try to find something for lunch
eat
rest
watch Dr. Phil and Oprah
sit in the sun
rest
bedtime

Cowpernia 08-21-2003 12:49 PM

vacuumdone
clean counter (other side) done
clean out a boxdone
put away stuff by doordone
5 minutes exdone
color = sauce ... a lot of these colors seem to be the OPPOSITE of what they imply

Wabby, I just noticed you posted. I will send you cookies made from scratch in my oatmeal kitchen.

Where do I find Bartenders friend? Walmart or Winn Dixie? Do I have to go in a bar? Maybe I could go to AmVets happy hour.

Kiwonk 08-21-2003 01:15 PM

Rust spots on SS sink: You need Brillo pads. 1 box will last you forever if you cut each one in half. Wet one, go gently back and forth on the rust stain with the grain if there is a grain. Rinse. If you don't use a brillo pad, my only other suggestion would be Comet and scrubbing really hard. If someone leaves wet metal like a tin can or something on the sink, it will leave a rust spot. I get them all the time and get rid of them all the time. If what you're seeing is blistering on shiny stainless steel, that's different (ie not good).

DD is mowing the lawn again. I wonder what is motivating all these money-earning activities? I hope it's just the desire for new cd's.

Hey, you have a concrete pig, Peachie? I have a cast iron cow!
I'm thinking of sending it to some lucky person for Christmas. Who wants a cast iron cow doorstop?

Tomorrow we are going to the "city" to spend the weekend with 3D friends and go to the folk festival. Please note it's freeeeeeeee. Yes, that's zero dollars. We are the smart consumers right here, yessireee.

Today I'm making a fruit salad for the weekend and doing laundry so I don't have to wear the horrible looking stuff I've been wearing this week.

SugP, Punkin starts 1st grade Monday and the boy child starts his senior year!!!!! What happened to my babies????? Punkin is growing into a very smart and beautiful little girl. And she is BOY CRAZY!!!!!! Gawd help me when she gets a little older!!

Kids and I are finally on our own. In a rented home. Hope to buy something this time next year.

Punkin's dad has finally been diagnosed. He is schizophrenic. And no, he doesn't take his meds. We don't see him much, I don't allow it. He stopped by briefly last week for punkin's birthday. That was the first time in almost 3 months. Punkin misses him terribly, but understands that he has a sickness. I have just told her that her daddy loves her very much, but his sickness tells him he is okay and he doesn't have to take his meds. She has a picture album of him that she looks at every nite before bed.

In fact, his sickness is so bad right now that I got a call from him last nite that prompted me to call the Sherriff to do a welfare check. That is all I can do. Not willing to do anything else. His mom is supposedly coming from southern CA today to move him back there. He needs a support system and it sure as **** isn't going to be me.

Hello to all of the other cowies, I have to get my big butt back to work. Hey, the butt is getting smaller!! Down to to 220. 30 lbs in the last 6 months. Woohoooooooo!!

Now, if I could just get 30 minutes alone with my UPS man.....

;) :o

Where is Painty? Must I be her also?

Ok, I am Painty. "Muff this is one helluva problem (in your vernacular) but it sounds entirely like you're on the right track in handling it. Good luck. Keep posting like a real person instead of a peeping bakery item."
