ShelleyM 07-29-2003 06:33 PM

WTG, Sherry and Debbie!!! You are both doing awesome!!

Gayle-There is a bus stop at my house, too!!

Dee-You are not terrible for needing a break. Is Dez going with friends or is she going to be staying with relatives?

Carol-Thanks again for all the inspirational reading!

Ramona-Thinking of you and the boys!

I am feeling a bit depressed today--I didn't do any exercise because it was raining and I had to go buy school supplies to sell in the school store, so I'm not able to post to everyone today.

Have a great evening and I love you all!

mzbhavin 07-29-2003 07:29 PM

Hey Gals,,,

Things seem to be going a little better today. Yesterday i felt like if i could run away from home i would. But the only problem would be i would have no where to go. Sad isn't it....

But praying things get going smoother b/c my nerves are getting very thin and at the breaking point.

Thanks for the uplifting posts from everyone it has helped.

Those that have things going on in their life that is stressful i will keep you in my prayers.

Sher and Deb ...we never have gotten together yet...one of these days.

WAY TO GO DEB & SHERRY - 2 MORE LBS GONE FOREVER!!! I AM DANCING A JIG :jig: I AM CLAPPING MY HANDS!! :cp: I AM RAISING MY GLASS (water that is) :hat: and I AM SENDING BALLOONS :balloons: TO YOU BOTH!

Now for the encore :encore:
HIP HIP HURRAY!!! HIP HIP HURRAY!!! GO, GO, GO.

I told you I would be your biggest cheerleader!!! :cb:

Love you both
Carol

Jennelle 07-29-2003 11:45 PM

Sherry - to answer your question...nope, we don't get the set up money. We do get money from the district for classroom supplies, but it is never available until at least September and school starts on August 7. So far, I've spent pretty close to $300, all of it out of my own pocket.

Shelley - I thought of you today...I was leafing through the latest band fund raiser catalog from daughter and saw a solid chocolate dreidel. Yum! What a way to play with your food....

My daughter is going out with a boy on Saturday...to the movies in the afternoon. It's not techncially her first date - her first date was to a hockey game with another boy last year. He's a junior, she's a freshman...he used to date one of her friends....I guess I'd better hang on and get ready for the boy parade!

ShelleyM 07-30-2003 05:56 AM

Jennelle-I know what you mean. If you remember, my oldest daughter (15) went with a boy for 9 months, then he broke up with her. My youngest (13) had her first date at the beginning of the summer and that was all. Neither one of them has a boyfriend right now, but get ready for the heartbreak and drama of teen love life!!

We give our teachers classroom supply money, but it is a school based decision. The principals in our district control the money for the schools. That's why I have such a problem, being a bookkeeper. I have to make sure that the money is being spent legitimately!

Speaking of---gotta go! Today is the teacher's first day and I have to help set up a social in the media center.

WHEN THINGS GO WRONG

From time to time many things will go wrong. And yet very few of them continue to stay wrong. Most wounds begin to heal almost from the moment they occur. Even the most unbearable grief will start to subside as life continues to move along.

Things that are broken get repaired or replaced. Strategies that don't work become lessons that help you to discover and develop what will work.

When things go wrong it is not the end of the world. It is, instead, the beginning of progress and improvement, learning and growth.

When things go wrong you get to find out where your efforts will truly be most effective. You get the opportunity to build and to strengthen your character, your skills, your persistence and your confidence.

Don't wait or wish for things to go wrong. But when they do, move on, move up and move forward.

Have a great OP day ladies!!!

HUGS
Carol

Morning ladies.
Debbie and Sherry...CONGRATS ON THE POUNDS GONE FOREVER!
You girls are doing such an awesome job.

I weighed this morning and was very dissapointed that I hadn't lost anything this week. So, I decided to measure myself to see if I could get a boost from that. I've lost 6.25 inches in the last 11 days! That was the validation I needed to stay on track. Thank goodness I took my beginning measurements or I would have probably grabbed a bag of fritos on my way out the door this morning!!!

I hope you are all having a good week.

We have company coming from North Carolina this Saturday for a week and I am extremely stressed. If it was just my BIL I wouldn't worry, but he is bringing his fiancee'. I'm so worried my house won't be clean enough, I'll run out of clean towels, I'll burn the meals, I'll forget they are there and walk through the house in my underwear, etc. SHERRY, CAN YOU MAKE A HOUSE CALL WITH YOUR MOP AND BROOM????!!!!!

gdeann 07-30-2003 11:33 AM

Ramona: I'm sure your company won't mind, as long as it's the lacy, frilly stuff!!! BTW: Just remember to not go topless! :o

gdeann 07-30-2003 11:38 AM

Ooops! I wanted to congratulate you Ramona for the inches lost!!! W@W!!! What plan are you following? Are you still doing the walking tapes? You will be a "skinny chicky" before we know it!

Tonight is yet another special event! Every single one of them has beer there. I guess I don't have enough restraint, when it's in the triple digits, that beer taste pretty darn good! Hopefully after Sunday, I can get back on plan!

Vickster: I'm sorry your life is in the dumps right now...just know that I think of you daily. {{HUGS}} :^:

Titan Card Fan 07-30-2003 04:12 PM

Hi everyone. I finally have pictures and posted one of all 3 over on the picture thread. Brittany is on the left and Brianna on the right. They are about 3 1/2 months old. Ashley is the little doll in the middle. She is 18 months old, but very tiny. She eats like a little bird.

Sherry 07-30-2003 07:13 PM

Hi Buds!

It's been a very busy day! Chris moved back home today. When he moved out last year, I moved Drew into his room since it's bigger.I've been spending the day putting up everything in the extra room (which was Drew's old room) that became my "junk room." Chris didn't quit college. He just wanted to move home a few months and save money. He'll be going back to school this fall. His first year went by so fast! I can't believe he's starting his 2nd year! His college is only about a 45 min. drive from here.I tried to tell him to live at home and commute but you can't tell kids anything! LOL. But anyway, atleast he got to see how tough it is to live with 3 other guys and share expenses!

I can't post to everyone now...Got to finish dinner. I'll post to everyone tomorrow! ;)

Debbie.......MISS YOU!! GET THAT COMPUTER FIXED FAST!!! :comp:

HUGS To ALL.......... :grouphug:

ShelleyM 07-30-2003 08:25 PM

Titan-The kids are adorable!!

The teachers came back today and I am wiped out!! Everything was so hectic today with them back (sorry Jennelle!!) I am the keeper of the keys, and it was mass confusion all day!!

Ramona-WTG on the inches lost!! That's fantastic!! I wouldn't worry about keeping the house clean. I'm sure it will be fine!

Jennelle 07-30-2003 11:14 PM

Sherry - If your son is going full-time, I don't blame him for not wanting to commute. I commuted 70 miles one way for two years - one of those semesters five days per week. There were some days when I'd be driving home from school and not remember the last 20 miles! Scary....

Sherry 07-31-2003 12:11 AM

Jennelle,

You are so right! That is scary! I guess this Mom just didn't want to "let go!" He's going to stay here for about 5- 6 months, work, go to School and save money. Also he wants to pay off those credit cards that I told him not to get! :yikes:
When he moves out, him & his best friend are going to get a place together that's about 15-20 minutes from school. Of course I would keep him FOREVER if I could.... but I know he needs to spread those wings! :)

HELLOOOOOO

DREAMS ALREADY ARE

What will you dream when your dreams have come true? What will you do with the happiness you seek once you have reached it? Can you see the dream that is behind the dream? Can you touch the purpose that is behind the goal?

When you arrive at the perfect destination you've chosen, what are you going to do next? Whatever it may be, consider doing it now, and suddenly you are already there.

Stop waiting for your dreams to be fulfilled, and start living the reality of their truth and their purpose. For behind every dream is always a reason, a reason which fills and pervades you even now.

Live each day as if you're precisely where you most want to be, doing what you are truly meant to do. And rather than wishing for your dreams to be real, you'll know that they already are.

Sherry, Liz still wants to do the EMT thing. She's passed her practicles, now she needs to take the written again. This will be the end of September. She's working full time at a fast food place, loves the people, hates the stink of grease etc. Liz has an interview later today that would involve working in the office of a local car dealership. She has mentioned the whole moving out thing, but when we sit down and figure out a budget, she realizes it is not within reason. I'm like you though, I dread the day when she will be moving out...
You hardly ever mention Zach. How is he doing? Is he still involved with your family?
Have fun with your mom and Drew today!

Titan Card Fan 08-01-2003 06:26 AM

Sorry, Gals, but I can't post to everyone but I do think of you often.

Sherry & Debbie: I have rescheduled the trip to Nashville. It's not in stone but having bought plane tickets, it's 1 step from it. I will be there August 20-22. The 22nd is pretty much out for us to meet unless we do it at the airport , but I'm open to either the 20th or 21st. I guess I would recommend the 21st if you want me to be alert -- I have a before 6 a.m. flight to catch on the 20th!!! Oh, I also have a ticket for 2 Titans game this season. (Smile)

We also need everyone's prayers again. In addition to continual prayers that God keeping our little earthly angels in the best home for them, Lisa's dad Harold is having surgery next week. I don't feel it's my business to ask why/what, but from seeing him the last couple of times, if it is anything beyond removing a toenail, I'd be real worried.

Please don't expect me to "chat" with you all next week. I love you dearly but right now my #1 priority is to take away any stress from Lisa that I can. Remember she's also carrying my "grandson Austin". Okay that's wishful thinking at this point, and I hope you know that all we want is for him/her to be healthy.

Love you guys.... and catch you later.

Carol101 08-01-2003 07:20 AM

GOOD MORNING ALL MY FLOOZIE FRIENDS!!!

POSITIVE PERSPECTIVE

Everything you do makes a difference. Every thought you think, every comment you make, every action you take, in some way will change things for you and your world.

You move through life, leaving consequences in your wake. And the quality of life is determined largely by the nature of those consequences. Even the smallest things make a difference. And those small things can quickly add up.

That's why your attitude and your outlook on life truly matter so much. Because they have a powerful influence over what kind of difference you are making, in the big decisions and the small ones too.

See the world as a beautiful place, filled with positive possibilities. And without even realizing it, your actions, your thoughts, your consequences will take on the color of that positive perspective.

Everything, every moment, every person, every stirring in your heart matters.

Let yourself love and value life, and be overjoyed at the positive difference that each of your moments can make.

Have a wonderful OP day!!!
Hugs :grouphug:

My computer had a virus today, so I haven't been able to post. It's fixed now, but I am ready to pass out. Busy day. I'll talk to you all tomorrow!!

ShelleyM 08-02-2003 05:27 AM

Titan-Please know that I am thinking of you!! I hope the surgery turns out okay. You are so lucky that the 3 of you will be meeting this month!

It has been a very rough and tough week. What with the 18 new teachers that we have, everyone is spending money like it's going out of style!! I am so glad it is the weekend--next week will be just as tough. My desk and everything in the direct vicintity of my desk is a complete mess, with boxes from supplies ordered all around me and everything in need of filing. I have to get it all done by next Friday. The open house for students is Saturday morning, and it is always a madhouse.

I am going to try and get some jogging in, then I will post later after I get Becky to the hairdresser and her job.

Talk to you later.

Sherry 08-02-2003 10:23 AM

Mornin'

I got home from Debbie's too late last night to post. She sure does miss her computer but she should get it back on Monday! She sends her love!

I just got out of the shower.I'm working the Titans/Dolphins scrimmage game today. If I'm not too tired, I'll post tonight.

By the way....Where is all my FLOOZIE FRIENDS?

Have a great OP day!!! :)

bootwoman 08-02-2003 10:40 AM

Good Morning All........
Sorry I've been lax about posting. The board has been really slow the last couple of days and I thinks when it is like that, it gets contagious!!hahahaha Anyway, I just wanted to check in.

Shelley, how is Mike doing? I hope you have a relaxing weekend.

Sherry, have you gotten the room ready yet? I know you will enjoy having your son home again. It is such a nice feeling when your children want to be back at home with you.

Debbie, I hope you get that computer fixed soon, we miss you!

Gayle, are you spooning out ice cream this weekend? You must have nerves of steel to be around all that ice cream all the time!

Dee, I hope you are doing ok and that things are calm around your house.

Titan, the grandbabies are adorable! I know you are enjoying them so much.

Jeanne, are you back on the wagon? I know how hard it is to stay on track. Hang in there.

Cheryl, are you back from your vacation???

Doni, Vicki, Carol, Jennelle, have a good and restful weekend.

Dan had drill yesterday and they ordered their uniforms for Iraq. They will report to the armory in about 3 weeks and will then be on active duty and work there for 30 days packing equipment and getting their affairs in order. They will go to Fort Carson, Colorado from here for training and then on to the Middle East. Each day it seems a little more real.

My company will be here today and I think maybe the house will pass inspection. I've worried about it all week and last night I finally said the heck with it. They can like it or lump it!!

gdeann 08-03-2003 12:40 AM

Hello girls!

Look's like it's slow here on the board. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We have two more special events setup (for the same day!) then we will be done for awhile. I'm ready for a break! Tonight is kind of a sad night for me. We found our big outside dog this evening laying on his side just like he fell asleep. He was 6 years old and exposed to all of the weather changes, maybe it was just his time to go. Poor Steve had to help me with him, we buried him off in our back field. I told Steve that the new puppy will be his and the kids, I'm done having animals for awhile, it's always so hard when you lose them. Well, I need to go, remember that I am thinking of each one of you.

Sherry 08-03-2003 11:43 AM

Howdy

I worked the Titans scrimmage yesterday and I'm so sore this morning. My legs are killing me from working.:(

Debbie,
Are you as sore as I am??!! PLEASE get that computer :comp: fixed!! I miss you here!

Gayle,
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.Bless your heart. To answer your questions: Yes, Chris & Dayna are still together. They went with us to Florida also. Zack is still in college. He stayed in the apartment. When Chris moved out, they just got another roommate. I'm so proud of Liz with the EMT thing. She must be a real smart girl! :)

Shelley,
Your post brought back some horrible memories for me and the new School year. Starting next week, my posts will sound like yours! Oh, how I dread it Shelley! We have 4 new teachers this year. I met one of them last week, I don't think we'll be getting along! She seemed so rude.

Titan (Dee),
How is Lisa's Dad? How are the three angels? The 20th sounds great to me!! It will have to be after 3:15...that's when I get off.Just let me know where & what time.

Dee,
Are you ok? Seriously? I've been so worried about you and what all you've been through.PLEASE don't shut us out.We are your friends and we'll always be here for you! We love you Dee!! :grouphug:

Vicki,
Are things better there for you? Also...please remember we're here for you too!

Cheryl,
Are you back from vacation? Did you have fun?

Ramona,
Are you having fun with your company so far? I hope you'll get time to pop-in for a quick hello during the week.Have fun with them!! :)

Jennelle,
Are you looking forward to tomorrow? I still can't believe it's time to go back!!! The kids go back the 11th.

Carol,
How's the OP'ing going? When is your trip to Bahama's? I KNOW you're so excited!! Can you put me in your luggage bag????

Doni & Jeanne,
Where are you??? Get your butts back in here!!! We miss you!

I'm spending the day doing laundry & cleaning house.I'll check back in later to see if anyone else has posted.Have a great OP day!!

By The Way: Shelley & I are getting lonesome over at the CHALLENGE & WALKING threads!! We would love for you to join us!!! *hint *hint :D

ShelleyM 08-03-2003 01:25 PM

I am guilty of not reading your whole post. I didn't see the part about the dog. I am so sorry. It's so hard to have animals!

Sherry-The thing that is so hard about having so many new teachers is that I can't remember who is who! They sure do know who I am though. The person who controls the money! For the most part they are nice, but I can tell already a few of them are going to be quite demanding. Plus, most of them are young enough to be my children!

I posted at the challenge thread that I am not going to journal on the weekends, but I have decided to go ahead and journal, but just eat more. I still won't post the food though, because I may sneak in a jelly bean or 2!

Ramona-I hope you are enjoying your company. Please know that I am praying for Dan to be healthy and safe.

Everyone else-Like Sherry says, come join us and get in some walking, running, or whatever!! It's an easy way to get extra points if you are on WW.

Carol101 08-04-2003 07:38 AM

OMG. I can't believe it. I lost more weight!!! I now weight in at 161. When I fell and broke my ankle on my birthday last December 16, I weighted in at 202!! I knew then I had to do something. But I am in total shock and elated at the same time. I haven't weighted under 170 for probably 15 years or more!!!

I boxed up 5 boxes of clothes a month ago that didn't fit anymore to sell at a neighbor's garage sale and finally took them over to her house last night, which made me feel great!! I refuse to have those "fat" clothes around because I never want to fit into them again!!

But you know what!! I may have to get rid of a few more. I put on 3 outfits this morning before I found one that looked halfway decent and even then the pants are too big!!

I know, I am going on and on about myself and I apologize, but I am so surprised at myself that I have been able to do this!! The best part is, the more I lose the more determined I am to get to my goal!! So onward and downward I go.

I will try to post more later, but I just had to shout with JOY!!!

I love you all and want you to feel as good as I do about losing that weight FOREVER!!!

Love
:grouphug:

Carol

Sherry 08-04-2003 08:17 AM

Dear Carol,

I'm so proud & happy for you! You have come a long way! I remember when Debbie first introduced me to you, You two were posting someplace else.I wanted you to come post with us so bad! At first you did, then you started to slack off.I thought that you were just going to quit & give up. But no! You proved me wrong!!! (I love it!) You hung in there....took control....gave support, very motivational...And look at you today!!!!! :)
Carol......WTG!! I KNOW you'll reach your goal! Please continue to do well and continue to suport us. :grouphug:

Love You......

Carol...This is for you..........

4myloves 08-04-2003 09:01 AM

I'm BACK!!!!!

Man, I missed you gals! I've been trying to read and catch up w/everyone, y'all have been busy while I've been gone!!!

Vacation was great--no breathing problems, no sinus problems, no humidity, no road rage....Can't wait to go back (or better yet, MOVE to New England!!!). On the down-side--I think I gained about 6-8 pounds over the last 8 days! I guess that means I'll have to work REAL hard over the next few weeks to get it off again!

I missed y'all--Cheryl

bootwoman 08-04-2003 10:10 AM

Gayle, I am so very sorry about your dog. It is a very tough thing to go through.

Carol, congratulations!!! You have been such an inspiration to me. You should be very proud of yourself and don't ever worry about saying too much. You should shout it from the rooftops!

Cheryl, welcome home. I'm glad you had such a great trip.

Our company is here and we had a nice weekend with them until 3 a.m. Sunday morning. Dan and his high school classmates were having an end of summer party and camp out in a big field at one of the boy's parents' house. Of course word of the party got out and a group of 40 fraternity boys showed up and started a fight. Several of the younger ones, including Dan, ended up in the hospital. Dan has a concussion, a swollen eye, a spraigned finger, some loose teeth, and his lip looks like it went through a meat grinder. The doctor didn't want to stitch it until the swelling goes down. There is a big piece of his lip torn and just hanging down. The man that hit him already has 2 warrants out for assualt. I'm beginning to think he may be safer in Iraq!!!

gdeann 08-04-2003 11:04 AM

Hi girls! I will be back later to post individually!

Here is a painting I worked on over the weekend. I have never did an animal before, I need your honest, honest opinion, what do you think?????? If you think it stinks, please tell me!

Titan Card Fan 08-04-2003 11:05 AM

Sherry, since Debbie's computer is in the hospital, would you please check with her? If she's okay for the 20th, I'll tell the realtor that I need to be at/near Opry Mills at 4 o'clock that day, and we'll take it from there. I'm still thinking the Alabama Grill, but I also plan to show you my "favoriate" sports bar over at Music Valley.

gdeann 08-04-2003 11:05 AM

BTW: It's a baby kitty...

bootwoman 08-04-2003 11:41 AM

Gayle, your painting is wonderful!!!!
You have natural talent and I can't wait to see more of your paintings!!!!

Sherry 08-04-2003 06:49 PM

Good Evenin'

Well I stayed VERY busy at work today. The teachers don't come back until Wednesday but there were some of the new teachers there today working in their rooms. They seemed to be very nice. I'll be very busy this week trying to get a lot done before Monday when the kids come back.

Gayle,
All I can say about your painting of the kitten is.....AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so GOOD!!! I love it!! You are so talented!!!!!!! :cp: :)

Ramona,
I'm so happy to hear that you're having fun with your company BUT I'm also sorry to hear about Dan! Can he press charges on this guy? With this big bully already having charges on him from the past...this guy is TROUBLE with a BIG "T"!!!!!! Keep us informed on how Dan is...ok? You both are in my prayers tonight. :grouphug:

Dee (Titan),
I'll let you know about the 20th as soon I talk to Debbie and we work it out! It sounds like fun!!! :D

Cheryl,
I'm so glad you had a great time & we sure did miss you!!!! I'm glad you're back!!! Now get right back OP!!!!!! We will motivate you ALL THE WAY!!!!! ;)

ShelleyM 08-04-2003 07:08 PM

Carol-I'm so proud of you!!

Gayle-I didn't know we had an artist in our midst!! You did an awesome job!

Sherry-I am so bogged under, I brought some stuff home for my daughter to do!! I certainly hope you are more organized than I am. I start doing one thing, then drop it to start another and another. You can't even see the top of my desk.
