Dee-Have a great time.

Carol-Thanks again for your motivations!

Cheryl-I'm so glad that the tests turned out well! Dont' sweat the weight gain. You know it's because of TOM.

Ramona-Your eating looks liveable, but I still don't think I could do without my sweets! Keep us informed on your menus.

Jeanne-What's going on? Are you settling back into reality?

Jennelle-Where are you, girl? Let us know how you are doing.

Gayle-Getting ready to leave again?

I had a nice time around the pool at my friend's house yesterday, although I ate too much. I also had a Bailey's cream. I've never had it before, and it was delicious. I know, I live a sheltered life! I am not going to run today, nor do an exercise tape. I am going to try and take 1 day off from all exercise and see if it helps my running at all.

The runt of the chickens is not doing well. I think I am going to ask Mike to bury her. I don't know of any other humane way to do it. She is not eating and her legs seem to be paralized. I separated her 2 days ago, thinking that the others weren't letting her eat, she did eat, but now she won't eat or drink anything. She just lays on her side. I hate to do it, but it needs to be done to put her out of her misery. She hasn't grown at all.

Everyone have a great day!

Bailey's ice cream? Never heard of the stuff. Of course, everyone knows the Worlds best ice cream is Blue Bunny!!! Can you tell I have connections? :D

Shelley: It sounds like the poor chick is about ready to die and it has progressed to far for a trip to the vet. I'm sorry to hear this. If she's laying on her side now, hopefully she will die very soon. I guess it's part of nature, but death is hard to deal with regardless if it is a human or animal.

You guys only have 1 more day of putting up with me, then I won't be back until late Sunday!!! Whats that????? Did I just hear CHEERS of JOY??? :s:

Today is a day off for me with the daycare. SO, I have a bunch of stuff to get done which includes clipping down our outside chow dog for summer. He is so well behaved during his groom other then every so often putting his HUGE mouth around my arm, not applying pressure, just letting me know that he is still in control. He is a sweetie! I turn him from a gorgous black chow to a shaved down wimp that resembles a deformed black lab in less then an hour! But he is cooler for summer.

Do you all think the girls are having fun and getting sand in the cracks yet?

Shelley, I'm sorry about the chick. Poor thing.

Gayle, I'm no expert, but I think what Shelley was talking about is just a bit stronger than ice cream.....lol
Have a great time this weekend!

Ladies, I'm very scared and need your prayers. As you know, Dan has had something wrong with his feet. All week, he has been throwing up and feeling feverish. Last night he started hurting in his lower abdomen and groin and discovered 6 hard knots. We took him this morning to the Dr. It is a problem with his lymph nodes. They put him on Cipro for 6 days and if it hasn't improved significantly, they are going to do a biopsy. Just that word is enough to send shivers down my back. Please keep Dan in your prayers.

Gayle-It's a liquer. Kind of like Kahlua and cream. Delicious and full of calories!!

I have been cleaning, rearranging pictures, etc. I am pooped!! You KNOW I never do it!!

gdeann 07-03-2003 03:20 PM

Ramona: Dan is in my prayers. My gosh, I hope this isn't caused from the problems with his feet and it's not a full blown infection in his body. Is he still vomiting and running a fever? I know your scared and I'm so sorry to hear this. Just know Dan and the family is in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.

Shelley: I read cream and just assumed it was ice cream! You can tell where my mind is! Steve's had me handing out so much of the stuff!!

I'm getting a new Hospice patient assigned to me this coming Monday. He sounds like a wonderful man, he's a veteran and I guess he loves to visit and chat. It sounds like it will be an interesting experience. BTW: Most people assume that Cancer is the leading terminal illness of Hospice patients. Currently cancer accounts for only 10% of the patients with end stage heart failure and emphysema accountable for most of the care.

I hope everyone is having a great day! Love, Gayle

Ramona-We must have been posting at the same time yesterday. I missed your post about Dan. Please know that he is in my prayers. I will say a mishabera for him tonight at synogogue.

Well, hubby went to get more feed yesterday and came back with 3 more chicks. They are Rhode Island Reds. They're beautiful. We are going to be loaded with eggs after I get these chicks out of my house!!

I don't know if you heard about the truck that exploded with fireworks in it the other day. Lovers Key is about 10 miles from where I live. It was a terrible catastrophe. There was only 1 survivor. It is really scary to think of how dangerous fireworks are. I have always been afraid of them. I don't even like sparklers!

See ya Sunday night or Monday morning!

LOVE, Gayle

Ramona - Grasping at straws here...could Dan have been bitten by a tick? I mean, a tick on your foot is pretty hard to do, but not unheard of. Maybe ask the doctors about Lyme disease...

Anyhow, he's in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how he is.

I'm feeling mighty lonely over at the exercise thread!!! Come on ladies, join me there!!

Positive cause

The most powerful time to be positive is when there is no reason to be positive. For positive focus is most valuable and useful not when it is an effect, but when it is a cause.

If you attempt to keep your attitude in line with circumstances, you'll be harshly and abruptly tossed around. Instead, resolve to be positive no matter what happens, and what will happen is that conditions will improve.

Rather than letting yourself be negatively influenced by the world around you, set out to provide your own positive influence.

Is your attitude normally determined by what's going on with you at the moment? Imagine how powerful it would be to turn that around, so that what's going on would be determined by your attitude.

No, everything is not going to fall magically into place just because you have a positive attitude. What will happen, though, is that you'll be far more open to the positive possibilities, and that can give you a powerful advantage.

In fact, it is precisely during the difficult times that you'll get the most value from seeing the world in a positive, life-affirming way. You'll be able to take whatever happens, and use it to move solidly forward.

Hugs
Carol

Good Morning!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!! We had and are still having lots of rain. Kind of puts a damper on the fireworks!!

Here is your Sunday morning motivation!!

Falling on and off the weight-loss wagon is to be expected."

Think of it like a road trip. When you first get on the road, do you expect to never have to stop and get gas? To never have to check the roadmap to get your bearings? Also, when you get lost, do you get frustrated and say, "Forget it, I'm going back home"?

No. You keep going. Because the place you want to go is worth the trip, and giving up is not an option. It helps to look at weight loss in the same way: You will get to your weight goal, no matter what the route. Rest stops along the way are only pauses. They're not failures; they're lessons learned.

So get back on the wagon and keep on going!!!

Have a great day ladies!!
Hugs
Carol

Liz-Welcome to the Floozies!! You will love it here. I read your bio, now come on over and join our crazy group of fun-loving ladies!!

bootwoman 07-06-2003 07:12 PM

Hi everyone! Well, my computer has decided to take a holiday along with everyone else. It went bonkers on the 4th and I can't even get it to open. I'm on my dad's computer tonight just to let you all know what is going on. I will take mine to the shop tomorrow morning.

I hope you all had a great holiday. Mine was very quiet and unproductive.

Debbie and Sherry, I can't wait to hear all about your vacation.

Dan seems to be responding somewhat to the Cipro. Hopefully, it is a bad infection and this will take care of everything without having to have a biopsy.

I hear my mom stirring so I better get back in there. I'll try to stay in touch as much as possible.

Have a good week all....
