Sorry ladies, I just can't do the attachments that Sherry does!! I hope she and Deb are having a ball here in Fl.!

Carol101 07-02-2003 07:19 AM

Here is your Wednesday morning motivation. This one really hit home for me.

Go for it

Go ahead and go for it. Forget about what others will think. Don't let yourself be stopped by what might go wrong. Get yourself adequately prepared and then take that big step forward.

Sure you'll make mistakes and experience setbacks. But that's no reason to keep yourself hidden behind your own doubts or insecurities.

Your biggest regrets will be for the opportunities that you allow to pass you by. Avoid the painful sting of regret by jumping into the ring and meeting the challenges of achievement with the best you have.

It brings you no value to forever wonder what might have been. Go for it, now, today and make your mark on what will be.

Move beyond just dreaming about it, or talking about it, or planning for it, or hoping it will come. Go for it, and truly make it happen.

Hugs

Carol

Thank you for starting a new thread Shelley, your the bestest! BTW: Can you put a friend of mine on your prayer list? She is going through about her 5th round of cancer. She has had breast twice, lung, liver and brain cancer. The spots in her lungs are now once again actively growing. Her name is Nancy.

Ramona: How's the new diet plan going? As far as the picture, I'm dreaming of a land far away with twinkie trees, marshmellow streams and hot fudge mountains. People can eat away as much as they want and still look like sexy models!

Dee: HAPPY BELATED CANADA DAY!!!!!!!! OOOP's, I meant to post yesterday, but it slipped my mind.

Jennelle: I'm glad to hear about the new job! It sounds so much less stressful!

Carol: How did weigh-in go?

Jeanne: remember us!

I bet our two little hotties are out having the time of their life! I hope they remember that they have hubby's and quit hitting on the guys on the beach.

To all of the other Floozies: We are into a busy Summer, but please try to take a minute to update us on your life.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!! Gayle

ShelleyM 07-02-2003 10:15 AM

Gayle-I will definitely put Nancy in my prayers!

Carol-Thank you for the morning motivation.

I just got back from Walmart. I bought myself a cheapie tankini, because today I am going to a friends house and hang out at the pool. It is very colorful, and I got a pair of black shorts as a cover up. Not bad for $40.00 total! I just couldn't face wearing my old 1 piece suit. I tried on every one that I have (which is about 10), and they are all so old and ugly looking (especially on me.) Anyway, I like the one I bought. It is very bright flowers.

Ramona-I was wondering the same. How is SBD going? I also lurk at the other thread.

gdeann 07-02-2003 10:35 AM

Shelley, you skinny little thang you!!!! The swimming suit will look wonderful! I bet the bright flowers and colors will look great next to your dark complexion and hair. HAVE FUN!!!!

Deelite 07-02-2003 10:55 AM

Just wanted to drop in a write a little line or two. Thanks Gayle for the Canada day wishes. It has been hot and humid here. We have been going to a different beach every day. We are off to the North Dakota for a few days. I should be back friday. Shelley keep everyone in line. Have a good week.

Love Dee

bootwoman 07-02-2003 12:29 PM

Dee, have a great time in North Dakota.

Shelley and Gayle, South Beach is going fine. The only thing I'm really missing is fruit and I'll get to add that in a couple of weeks.
I'm not hungry at all. In fact, I'm having trouble eating enough! I love that I can snack on pistascios in the afternoon if I have a lull.

Gayle, your friend is in my prayers. Bless her heart.

Carol, great post, as usual!

bootwoman 07-02-2003 12:30 PM

OH, I forgot one thing.....SHELLEY, WHY ARE COVERING UP THAT SKINNY BODY OF YOURS?????!!!!! YOU NEED TO STRUT YOUR STUFF GIRL!

4myloves 07-02-2003 01:04 PM

I'm Back!

Sorry for the long absence! I got the results from my tests at the Dr's. Everything checked out fine, for which I am very grateful. Thanks to all of you, too, for the thoughts and prayers!

Ramona, sorry about your aunt and the baby--those folks are absolutely awful!!

Gayle--I like your new avatar, too!!

Shelley--be careful running in the heat!

Carol--don't get discouraged! Did you try upping your cals for a few days?

Jeanne--glad you enjoyed your vacation! I'll bet you're already looking forward to going back! I know I would be!

Dee--you're lucky you have the beaches to go to!!!

Hey to everyone else!

Cheryl

bootwoman 07-02-2003 01:18 PM

Cheryl, I'm so happy that the tests came out well! I know you must be relieved.

gdeann 07-02-2003 01:47 PM

Have fun Dee! I won't chat with you again until Monday. We leave Friday and will be gone until Sunday night.

Cheryl: I'm glad to hear that all of the test came out fine. I had been thinking of you. Thank you for letting us know your ok. How's the weight loss going?

Ramona: I checked out a thread about the SBD. Sounds similar to Atkins except you are allowed more carbs and fruit? I know the first two weeks are fairly strict with no fruit, so what do you eat in your daily menu?

bootwoman 07-02-2003 03:32 PM

Gayle, I posted a lengthy list of what I eat and guess what? The cyberspace monster ate it!

So here is a quick list of some of my favorites:
crustless spinach quiche
lean roast beef or turkey with provolone cheese roll-ups
low fat cottage cheese with cucumbers and tomatoes for a snack as well as pistaschio nuts(30)
ground chuck on the Foreman grill with mixed sauteed veggies
SF popsickle

4myloves 07-02-2003 04:50 PM

Thanks, Gayle and Ramona! :)

The weight loss is not going :( It's that "special" TOM and I've been stressed out, so I've been just eating whatever. Gained 2 lbs. at weigh-in last night! I've gotta get on the ball better this week!!

Carol101 07-03-2003 07:08 AM

The only day

Live as though today is the only day that has ever been and the only day that will ever be. For, in some ways those things are true.

Today is the day that is here now, the one you have with which to work. You cannot change the days in the past, nor can you yet reach the future. Yet today is more than enough. Anything you could possibly dream or desire, you can begin to create for your world today.

Imagine the wonder and awe you would feel if today was the only day you had ever experienced. Imagine the sense of urgency you would have if today was the only day that you would ever be able to experience.

Go through this day with that sense of awe, with that driving urgency. Treat this day as if it were the only day ever. And by doing so, you will make it the best day ever.

Have a great OP day ladies!

Hugs
Carol

ShelleyM 07-03-2003 07:21 AM

Dee-Have a great time.

Carol-Thanks again for your motivations!

Cheryl-I'm so glad that the tests turned out well! Dont' sweat the weight gain. You know it's because of TOM.

Ramona-Your eating looks liveable, but I still don't think I could do without my sweets! Keep us informed on your menus.

Jeanne-What's going on? Are you settling back into reality?

Jennelle-Where are you, girl? Let us know how you are doing.

Gayle-Getting ready to leave again?

I had a nice time around the pool at my friend's house yesterday, although I ate too much. I also had a Bailey's cream. I've never had it before, and it was delicious. I know, I live a sheltered life! I am not going to run today, nor do an exercise tape. I am going to try and take 1 day off from all exercise and see if it helps my running at all.

The runt of the chickens is not doing well. I think I am going to ask Mike to bury her. I don't know of any other humane way to do it. She is not eating and her legs seem to be paralized. I separated her 2 days ago, thinking that the others weren't letting her eat, she did eat, but now she won't eat or drink anything. She just lays on her side. I hate to do it, but it needs to be done to put her out of her misery. She hasn't grown at all.

Everyone have a great day!

gdeann 07-03-2003 10:08 AM

Bailey's ice cream? Never heard of the stuff. Of course, everyone knows the Worlds best ice cream is Blue Bunny!!! Can you tell I have connections? :D

Shelley: It sounds like the poor chick is about ready to die and it has progressed to far for a trip to the vet. I'm sorry to hear this. If she's laying on her side now, hopefully she will die very soon. I guess it's part of nature, but death is hard to deal with regardless if it is a human or animal.

You guys only have 1 more day of putting up with me, then I won't be back until late Sunday!!! Whats that????? Did I just hear CHEERS of JOY??? :s:

Today is a day off for me with the daycare. SO, I have a bunch of stuff to get done which includes clipping down our outside chow dog for summer. He is so well behaved during his groom other then every so often putting his HUGE mouth around my arm, not applying pressure, just letting me know that he is still in control. He is a sweetie! I turn him from a gorgous black chow to a shaved down wimp that resembles a deformed black lab in less then an hour! But he is cooler for summer.

Do you all think the girls are having fun and getting sand in the cracks yet?

bootwoman 07-03-2003 11:57 AM

Shelley, I'm sorry about the chick. Poor thing.

Gayle, I'm no expert, but I think what Shelley was talking about is just a bit stronger than ice cream.....lol
Have a great time this weekend!

bootwoman 07-03-2003 02:30 PM

Ladies, I'm very scared and need your prayers. As you know, Dan has had something wrong with his feet. All week, he has been throwing up and feeling feverish. Last night he started hurting in his lower abdomen and groin and discovered 6 hard knots. We took him this morning to the Dr. It is a problem with his lymph nodes. They put him on Cipro for 6 days and if it hasn't improved significantly, they are going to do a biopsy. Just that word is enough to send shivers down my back. Please keep Dan in your prayers.

ShelleyM 07-03-2003 02:33 PM

Gayle-It's a liquer. Kind of like Kahlua and cream. Delicious and full of calories!!

I have been cleaning, rearranging pictures, etc. I am pooped!! You KNOW I never do it!!

gdeann 07-03-2003 03:20 PM

Ramona: Dan is in my prayers. My gosh, I hope this isn't caused from the problems with his feet and it's not a full blown infection in his body. Is he still vomiting and running a fever? I know your scared and I'm so sorry to hear this. Just know Dan and the family is in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.

Shelley: I read cream and just assumed it was ice cream! You can tell where my mind is! Steve's had me handing out so much of the stuff!!

I'm getting a new Hospice patient assigned to me this coming Monday. He sounds like a wonderful man, he's a veteran and I guess he loves to visit and chat. It sounds like it will be an interesting experience. BTW: Most people assume that Cancer is the leading terminal illness of Hospice patients. Currently cancer accounts for only 10% of the patients with end stage heart failure and emphysema accountable for most of the care.

I hope everyone is having a great day! Love, Gayle

ShelleyM 07-04-2003 07:04 AM

Ramona-We must have been posting at the same time yesterday. I missed your post about Dan. Please know that he is in my prayers. I will say a mishabera for him tonight at synogogue.

Well, hubby went to get more feed yesterday and came back with 3 more chicks. They are Rhode Island Reds. They're beautiful. We are going to be loaded with eggs after I get these chicks out of my house!!

I don't know if you heard about the truck that exploded with fireworks in it the other day. Lovers Key is about 10 miles from where I live. It was a terrible catastrophe. There was only 1 survivor. It is really scary to think of how dangerous fireworks are. I have always been afraid of them. I don't even like sparklers!

Carol101 07-04-2003 08:03 AM

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

Have a great Day!

Carol

gdeann 07-04-2003 11:01 AM

HAPPY 4Th GIRLS!!!!!

See ya Sunday night or Monday morning!

LOVE, Gayle

Jennelle 07-04-2003 01:38 PM

Ramona - Grasping at straws here...could Dan have been bitten by a tick? I mean, a tick on your foot is pretty hard to do, but not unheard of. Maybe ask the doctors about Lyme disease...

Anyhow, he's in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how he is.

ShelleyM 07-05-2003 11:45 AM

I'm feeling mighty lonely over at the exercise thread!!! Come on ladies, join me there!!

Carol101 07-05-2003 06:22 PM

Positive cause

The most powerful time to be positive is when there is no reason to be positive. For positive focus is most valuable and useful not when it is an effect, but when it is a cause.

If you attempt to keep your attitude in line with circumstances, you'll be harshly and abruptly tossed around. Instead, resolve to be positive no matter what happens, and what will happen is that conditions will improve.

Rather than letting yourself be negatively influenced by the world around you, set out to provide your own positive influence.

Is your attitude normally determined by what's going on with you at the moment? Imagine how powerful it would be to turn that around, so that what's going on would be determined by your attitude.

No, everything is not going to fall magically into place just because you have a positive attitude. What will happen, though, is that you'll be far more open to the positive possibilities, and that can give you a powerful advantage.

In fact, it is precisely during the difficult times that you'll get the most value from seeing the world in a positive, life-affirming way. You'll be able to take whatever happens, and use it to move solidly forward.

Hugs
Carol

Carol101 07-06-2003 09:08 AM

Good Morning!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!! We had and are still having lots of rain. Kind of puts a damper on the fireworks!!

Here is your Sunday morning motivation!!

Falling on and off the weight-loss wagon is to be expected."

Think of it like a road trip. When you first get on the road, do you expect to never have to stop and get gas? To never have to check the roadmap to get your bearings? Also, when you get lost, do you get frustrated and say, "Forget it, I'm going back home"?

No. You keep going. Because the place you want to go is worth the trip, and giving up is not an option. It helps to look at weight loss in the same way: You will get to your weight goal, no matter what the route. Rest stops along the way are only pauses. They're not failures; they're lessons learned.

So get back on the wagon and keep on going!!!

Have a great day ladies!!
Hugs
Carol

Liz-Welcome to the Floozies!! You will love it here. I read your bio, now come on over and join our crazy group of fun-loving ladies!!

bootwoman 07-06-2003 07:12 PM

Hi everyone! Well, my computer has decided to take a holiday along with everyone else. It went bonkers on the 4th and I can't even get it to open. I'm on my dad's computer tonight just to let you all know what is going on. I will take mine to the shop tomorrow morning.

I hope you all had a great holiday. Mine was very quiet and unproductive.

Debbie and Sherry, I can't wait to hear all about your vacation.

Dan seems to be responding somewhat to the Cipro. Hopefully, it is a bad infection and this will take care of everything without having to have a biopsy.

I hear my mom stirring so I better get back in there. I'll try to stay in touch as much as possible.

Have a good week all....

ShelleyM 07-06-2003 07:42 PM

Ramona-I read about your loss for your 1st week on SBD. Congratulations!! That's wonderful! I hope your computer is better soon! I'm glad Dan is responding to the meds. I will keep praying that he gets better ASAP!!

It sure has been slow around here with practically everyone gone somewhere! I hope you all had a great holiday!

Hugs to everyone!

gdeann 07-06-2003 10:09 PM
