Actually, it is nice to know I was missed. I'll be here every couple of days. And it is nice to be missed... even though I'm not so sure my vote about who would be queen got counted. Did y'all vote? :D
Well, I don't care much, I'll just be the clown... until I'm at goal weight, then I'll be the old tart/vamp that you all hope to be when your my age. Wearing purple my a**! Only if it comes from Victoria's Secret.:D
Or maybe Frederick's. It's amazing how trampy this former librarian has gotten in the 15 (!) years since my uptight husband divorced me... and how motivated I can be with a new one.

No, really. Talking about birthdays and who's older than who... Here's a question to ponder:

How old would you be if your age actually reflected your attitude.

I've been reading the profiles that are posted and lots of you were cagey about not saying your actual age... So I can't tell who's young and who's immature. This seems very important to me.

Some days I feel about 3 (but act 30) Other days I feel 60 and act "ageless." I'm hoping losing weight will help me MAINTAIN denial about my years on the planet and that I will look, act and feel 40. (But a Jane Fonda/Catherine Deneuve/Susan Sarandon kind of 40!)

Scarily enough, the 3 women you mentioned are waaaaaaayyy over 40! Although I quite agree with you -- I want to age like that and at 47, I'd be happy to look like Jane Fonda does at, what, almost 60?

But truth of the matter is I still feel like I'm about 25 most of the time. Although having to get reading glasses does a whole lot of damage to that "young" feeling, I must say...

I agree that reading glasses are diabolical. I was so vane about wearing contacts... the readers blow my cover. And with senior moments, sometimes I can't FIND the readers. I confess I am more patient with the memory of my mother looking for her "half-glasses"

I feel bad about stopping two threads. (Ageless and Shorts) Did I break a rule? Apology available, but I'd like to know what I did. :(

You didn't do anything, Painter! Every so often someone gets a bug up their shorts and changes the subject! :lol:

I see the occasional sign of impatience in my DD when I "can't see that without my reading glasses", and I remember so vividly feeling that way a whole lot of the time when I was her age. I wasn't nearly as sweet to my mom as DD is to me. When I moan about something she says something sympathetic like "poor mommy", and it tends to remind me that I don't have to keep informing everyone that my head aches or something. I used to feel like my mother complained about her health constantly and really drove me bats. I'm sure I wasn't very nice about it (probably a lot rolling eyes and sighing). Live and learn, eh?
