WTG Cheryl!!!!!!!! 4 1/2 lbs. is WONDERFUL!!!!! I'm so proud of you!!!!
Ramona,
I'm not sure if dept consolidation will cause your credit to go bad or not.Wayne & I have talked about checking into this also.It would be great to only have ONE monthly note per month! If you find out anything, let me know & I'll do the same. I'm glad Rick's test came back ok. He can control the glucose with diet & excerise AND you helping!!
I just got home from meeting Debbie this morning. We had to go get our new ABC card (Alcohol & Beverage). This one is good for 5 years instead of 3. We also had lunch out and got to catch-up on talking!!!!
Gotta get some things done......I'll be back later to post again. Have a great OP day!!
I hope Dee is having the time of her life!!! I sure miss her!!!
That's why my ears were burning!!! I hope you two had a nice lunch!!!! BTW: I forgot to mention that I did a little brown nosing and ended up getting into the back of a concert we will be having here in July. Several top name Country singers, some tour group, I believe Kenney Chesney (sp?) and others. We will help out in hospitality for them. The lady told me that as long as I'm willing to look like I'm working, we are free to be there! I sweet talked the gal and Steve donated ice cream.
Ramona & Sher: I believe profina??? is one of the groups that offer consolidation. We have wanted to check into it too, but not long ago I read that you need to be VERY careful! Basically, you will turn all of your bills over to them and hope like heck they pay them off for you. Plus, I guess some companies charge an extremely high service fee... I will be interested to see what you find out.
I worked all morning trying to straighten out Liz's hair! To make a long story short....mix a teenager with dyed black hair trying to put a red color onto the regrowth! I had to run to the beauty supply to get a stripper for the dye. Ended up lightening it out and putting a natural ash blonde on it. It looks alot better then it did for awhile!
Ramona - If you have to pay for the consolidation, don't use that company. I suggest Consumer Counseling Services. Also, beware of Ameridebt! I've heard horror stories about them.
Ramona-A friend of mine did debt consolidation and it has worked out great for her. She pays everything in 1 lump sum, and then has left over to pay for groceries and incidentals. Since I used to work in credit, I can tell you that it doesn't help your credit profile too much. That was about 7 years ago, so maybe things have changed and they treat it differently, but they used to not give credit readily to people that did the consolidation. It is better than going bankrupt, though!! Believe me I know, since we are still going through it. Good luck. Just make sure you ask questions and don't pay too big a fee to the place that is consolidating the bills.
Gayle-I had to read your post twice. I thought you were physically straightening her hair. Naturally, that's what I would think, since mine is so kinky!!
Sherry-Were you joking, or do you really have to get a card. Why? Forgive me for being so dumb!
That's not a dumb question at all! Yes....You have to be certified to serve alcohol beverages. Debbie & I took our class in March (It's good for 5 years now. Our last class was only good for 3 years). We just had the temporary card from the class in March. We had to go pay today to pick up our offical card so we could work Fan Fair this weekend (and the football games, which are right around the corner!)
The classes are 5 hours long. Then when the class is over, you have to take a test and pass it.
Whew.......I'm sure glad that we don't have to go through all this again for another 5 years!!
I bet you're lookin' forward to your last day of work!!!
Good Evening all. Thanks for the pat on the back ladies. It is nice to be acknowledged when we try so hard.
WTG Sherry and Cheryl Keep up the good work.
Sherry: I think that no matter what plan you are on, you have to watch the calories at least a little. Even if you make all the right food choices, you can overeat. But you seem to be doing a great job. Maybe if you watch your calories for a few days you will notice a difference as well. Might be just enough to help you over a plateau if you are on one.
Deb: Girl.. you keep on trying. Remember, I was the one who couldn't stay OP for longer than 1 or 2 days at a time. So if I can do this, so can you. You inspired me when I needed it and I am here for you too!
I write down everything I put in my mouth. It was a real eyeopener in the beginning to realize how quickly 1200 calories add up if you eat all the wrong things!! I am trying to lose 2 lbs a week if possible, but even if I only lose 1 I will be happy. I hope to lose a total of 70 lbs in all, so it will take me a while.
Since you enjoyed my earlier pep talk, here is another one :
Commit to repeating baby steps.
Commit to doing the work.
Commit to moving forward.
Some days all you may do is get one foot in front of the other.
That's progress enough.
Even if all you did healthy all day was drink 8 glasses of water, it's a step in the right direction.
If you don't continue these new healthy new habits day in and day out it's a step backwards. But remember Baby Steps.
Carol, thank you for the pep talk!!!! You are in the "zone"
Ramona: Steve listens to a consumer guy on the radio all the time when he's traveling. A Tom Martino? Steve said that he only recommends one dept consolidation service. He couldn't remember the name, but he said it is listed on this guys web site. The one Jennelle mentioned is the one I heard bad things about.
Sher & Deb: Do you guys mix and serve alcoholic drinks other than beer? Is that why the tesy was needed?
Shelley: Liz had about 3" of regrowth that was bright red, mixed in with the rest of her shoulder length (black) hair from a prior dye job. Just couldn't wait for Mom to have time to color it! She looked like a skunk with diaper rash!!! I had to strip ALL of it (bleach out to yellow stage) then go in with a toner to color it again. It ended up looking pretty good. Kind of a light auburn.
I hope everyone had a great OP day today!!! I did good until tonight...
I envy some of you that are doing so well. I can't seem to get my act together!!! Maybe I should have my mouth sewn shut!
Hey Floozies,
Seems like I have been feeling extra hungry lately...I'm hoping that it is just pms or something. What do all of you do when you just feel like you have to eat? I've been snacking on olives, nuts, berries and whipped cream (all okay in moderation on Atkins). Fortunately it hasn't effected my weight yet, but I feel like my old eating habits are sneaking back. YIKES! I know this is psychological...just wish I could think like a skinny person and quit focusing on food.
Jeanne-Since I'm not on Atkins, I can't help you. The things I try to have when I am extra hungry is a HUGE salad. I will eat the whole head of lettuce!! I agree with you. I wish my whole life didn't revolve around food!
Sherry-You may be plateauing because you haven't eaten enough. Maybe you need to shake up your system with alternating days of eating more and less. That's what the Wendy plan is on WW. There is even 1 day when you can eat whatever you want. This seems to shake things up a bit. Your metabolism may be slowing down due to under eating!!
Carol-Your baby step pep talk was great! I will have to refer to it always!
Gayle-I'm glad that your daughter's hair turned out!
Well, my youngest leaves for NJ next Saturday. We decided to let her do it. The flight is $200.00, and she will be taking an extra $300.00 with her. She will be gone for 3 weeks. She and her friend are going to go on the plane alone. I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just very nervous with all the turmoil in the world right now! They will be visiting NY, Connecticut, Pa and staying in NJ. I have already contacted my brother, who lives in NYC to meet them and show them around when they are there. I just hope her money holds out!
I am going to a Publisher workshop today and tomorrow. I won't be at my school until Monday, and that's the last week. I hope I can get everything done when I get back there!
Gayle: It will click for you again. I just know it. Believe me I have been in your shoes! That devil gets hold of you and you can't seem to break free. You will know when it you are in the ZONE again!!! I have faith you can do this!!!
Jeanne: This is only my opinion. I think you are doing the right things to keep from overeating, but maybe you should try drinking lots of water and/or going out for a walk. Just do something physical to take your mind off of it. I think you have to be very careful eating all that extra stuff no matter what plan you are on. Your stomach will come to expect it and then you may find yourself hungry all the time and grabbing for the wrong kinds of food. Grab some water and move!!! I think this will pass if you just hang in there.
Shelley: Your daughter is in for the trip of a lifetime and you will be glad you let her go!!! She will be okay in the big city. I am sure your brother will take good care of her.
Sherry: For you, I will start posting what I eat on the other thread so that you can see where I am getting my calories from. You maybe eating similar things and are doing just fine. I know the scales have slowed the downward trend for me as well. I believe that is natural. Just hang in there!!! I am proud of what you have accomplished and I am sure you are on the right track for you. Keep doing what you are doing girl!!!
Deb: Hey, how are you doing today? I know you are going to do this. Have a great OP day!!! :
Thanks for all the congratulations on my loss this week, and CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS LOST!!!!!
I've got to do something about all of my credit card debt, too. It's just hanging out there over my head like a big, black cloud I checked with Regions Bank yesterday, and my loan officer told me that they will make a loan to refinance unsecured debt. But, she also said that if I owed a whole bunch I'd have to have collateral.
Sherry -When I first read your post, I'll admit I was pretty confused, until I remember that you worked at the stadium! I was, like, "A beer card? To work at a school? Hey, that's the school I wanna work in! "
Jeanne - my munchies snack of choice is cherry tomatoes, though I don't know anything about if they're allowed on Atkins.
Gayle - Your daughter is lucky to have a talented hairdresser at home! A few years back, I dyed my hair what was supposed to be light strawberry blonde and it turned out streaky Bozo the Clown orange! It cost me over $100 to get it fixed!
Thought I would post quickly before I start geting ready.Mom & I are going swimsuit shopping AGAIN!! I know she's getting so tired of watching me try them on! Bless her heart, She would never tell me if she thought so. Anyway, It's our 3rd trip so maybe I'll find something! I guess I'm looking for a miracle swimsuit that makes me look like something I'm not!
Gayle,
I'm glad your Daugher's hair turned out good! She's lucky to have you!! BTW: How much did you charge her to fix it??!!
Jennelle,
I was laughing so hard at what you posted! Yeah....I've seen those days where I could use a BIG STIFF drink while working at School!!! LOL
Jeanne,
I agree with Carol.......Grab some water & go for a walk when those munchies hit!! Or maybe grab some fruit!? I'm not sure what kinds you are allowed to have though.
Shelley,
Your Daughter will have a great time! Both of you will be so happy that she was able to go.She'll have fun, learn things and will be able to look back at this experience. You're a great Mom!
Carol,
Your baby talk steps talk was great! When I get down, I'll refer back to it!! Again....I'm soooooooo proud of you!!!!!
Dee,
When are you coming home??????? I sure miss you girl!!!!!!!! I'm sure you're having a ball!!!!
Debbie,
It's been a couple of days since you posted!! (See I'm keeping up with you! LOL) Try to post today before you go work Fan Fair!!
Has anyone heard from Doni????? I really miss her!!
Vicki,
How are you? I've been meaning to ask, How is your Daughter? Is she working full time? Hey....It looks like you have a B/Day coming up in 20 days!!!
Ramona,
I have asked a few times and I'll ask again! How are the boys? With all this war still going on, I think about them often.
Titan,
Just let Debbie & I know what week in July you're coming and we'll make plans to meet you some place for lunch! I can't wait!!! Good luck on finding a house here! I hope it's close to me!!
Sherry, believe it or not, the best swimsuit I ever found came from Wal-Mart. It's black with one of those attached skirts. LOVE IT!! And I believe it only cost a little over $30.
