gdeann 04-14-2003 10:38 PM

Hey Sher, really didn't know which one to vote on. My legs are just short enough that if I wear just above the knee, I look like a granny. But, if I wear short, short, all the world can see my jiggling inner thighs! I wear mine mid on the thigh. As if anyone really cares... :smug:

Jennelle 04-14-2003 10:41 PM

Hey, all....I just joined WW Online. I had to do SOMETHING! I'm sort of hoping the fact that I just shelled out $60 will help me do this.

I'm so tired of setting goals that I never meet. It's really starting to piss me off! So, I need to get off my fat (__Y__) and JUST DO IT!

My 10% goal is 210. I will be there by my birthday - June 14.

Sherry 04-15-2003 12:21 AM

ShelleyM 04-15-2003 05:37 AM

Jennelle-I lost my weight exclusively on WW Online, so I know you can do it!! They are very motivating over there. Tryout the Close to Goal thread--that's where I post on the 25 mile challenge thread. There are some truly amazing people over there that are willing to help anyone!! You need not be close to goal to post there.

Sherry-I looked over your menu for the last couple of days and it looks perfect!! I think I need to follow yours!! You seem to be mixing the right amount of protein and carbs. How do you overcome nighttime eating? If it weren't for that, I would weigh 100 lbs.!!! BTW, our registration isn't until the school choice batch is mailed out. Then the k's have to come and take a test to see what level class they can go into. Don't you love:stress: this time of year??? NOT!!!!

I wear short shorts, too. If I wear the longer ones, my legs look even heavier than they are. My youngest daughter gets embarrassed at her 50 year old mom wearing them!!

Girls-If you notice, I have a hard time posting to everyone on just one post. It's easier for me to talk to you 1 or 2 at a time, so don't feel that I am overlooking you. My mind is just to jumbled all the time to remember everything everyone has said!!

I love you all!! Oh, and congrats to everyone that lost this past week!! You all are doing great!!

gdeann 04-15-2003 09:24 AM

Hello Floozies!!!!!!!!

Jennelle: You will do super on WW!!!!! The online program is great!!!! I know it worked for Shelley wonderfully!!!! My husband had great success with it too, of couse men can watch what they eat for one week and drop 10 pounds!!! :?:

Shelley: I can't wear mine short, short. If I did I think it would be against the law for "grossing people out!" I like mine just mid-thigh, I have always wished to wear really short, but just not going to happen here!

Sher: Yes, Liz had a good time! The kid she went with moved away from here about three years ago but they stay in contact. She broke up with her regular boyfriend about four months ago, so she gave this guy a call. We haven't been around him for years, so Steve and I kept our fingers crossed that he would follow through on the promise. He did eventually show up after a flat tire before leaving his town. I know I was a nervous wreck for awhile! But, all in all, she had a good time! Plus, she won't admit it, but I think she had fun rubbing it in to the x-boyfriend that she had an "out of town" date for the prom. TEENAGERS!!!
I will send you a pic later today, not very good, but one I took with the digital.

I weighed in today and the scale is moving downward!!!!! YIPPPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Wishing my Floozie Sisters a super OP day!!!!!! ;)

Sherry 04-15-2003 07:14 PM

Gayle.......WTG on the weight loss!!!! Keep it up girl!!!!!!!!! :dancer: Thanks for the pic....Liz sure is pretty!!

Shelley..........I really don't get hungry after dinner and the kitchen is clean. If I do...There's always Angel Food Cake OR Frozen Yogurt for me to grab!! ;)

Hope everyone had a great OP day!!!! Today was day 30 for me!!!!!!!! :cb:

Hugs..........

gdeann 04-15-2003 11:00 PM

Day 30 already Sher??? I am soooo PROUD of you!!!!!!!!! :D

Have any of you ever heard of the Roomba??? It's a robot vacuum sweeper that actually operates on it's own. I have been checking into them doing consumer reports etc. to see about getting one. I will still keep my larger vacuum, but this would be so cool to toss into the bathroom etc. then all you need to do is mop. I wanted to get your opinion if you have one or know of someone with one.

Deelite 04-16-2003 09:56 AM

uJust a quicky before the girls come over and pick me up for my walk. My company left yesterday. Whew.....I am tired but loved the visit. I am not expecting any more company, thank goodness. It will be a busy enough week with easter and we have a birthday party and social. I think that I might just skip the social as it falls the night before easter.
Mom is done her chemo. She is still on blood thinners for her blood clots. Her blood was 7.5 yesterday which is dangerously thin. Every other time that she had it tested it was way to thick! The doctor told her to lie low and come back in today to get it checked. He has never seen someone's blood that thin. He is not sure what is causing it. There always is something going on with mom.

Gayle never heard of that vacuum. It kind of sounds like the kind you can get for a pool. You just put it in and it does the rest. Glad that Liz had a nice night.

Sherry day 31 today, that is awesome girl.

Jennelle I lost my weight with ww. I really like the program because it gives you flexability.

I don't wear short much except to exercise. I like my dresses.

Jeanne I am lgad that you had a good time camping. Our nights are to cold here, right now to camp out.

Debbie how many more days now before you leave on vacation? You are doing great with the weightloss keep it up.

Ramona glad that you are back on track today. We all need off program days.

Well my buzzer just went off on the washer so I better head down before the girls get here.

Love you all. To all the floosies that haven't posted lately.....come back.

DEE

DebbieA 04-16-2003 09:52 PM

Evening girls:wave:

Hope everyone had a great OP day!! I was off work today to take James back to the doctor. He said James is doing great but healing up a little slower than he expected. He can go back to work on May 16th if he continues doing good. :D

What plans does everyone have for Easter ?? :flow1: {except reaching your goals} :flow1: I have fixed 4 Easter baskets for my grands but waiting until the last minute to put the candy in them. Sure don't want all that Chocolate :T :T stuff in the house for very long...LOL. :T :T

Guess I'll have to catch up with everyone tomorrow. I've been running for two days and still not done with everything. Glad we have a three day weekend coming up!

Hugs...debbie :dancer:

Jennelle 04-16-2003 10:05 PM

Well, girls, I resigned today. I just couldn't take it anymore. It had come down to my mental health. Like I wrote in a note to one of my fellow teachers, "Somewhere deep down there is a Teacher of the Year begging to get out, and I was afraid (the school) would kill her."

It wasn't an easy decision.

Sherry 04-16-2003 10:26 PM

Hi Everyone

I have something to tell you. I honestly think that a person is as strong-willed as she/he wants to be. I didn't realize this until tonight. Today was day 31 being OP.I have been doing so good and it's like a dream that I have gone this long being OP.Tonight though, something "almost" changed this. I ate dinner and about an hour later, I had my hands on the last box of Girl Scout cookies (Tangalongs)!!! :yikes: I honestly think I could have eaten the whole box if I hadn't had a "talk" with myself. I layed the cookies down and went to the bathroom & cried.About 20 minutes later, I went back to the cookies, ATE ONLY 1 and went right next door and gave them to my neighbors!!! :) (Wayne & Drew don't like them). Now is this strong-willed or what?! I asked myself if I wanted to throw away 30 days of making the right choices for one night of a box of damn cookies!!! You don't know how proud I am of myself tonight. This time last year I would have said "The **** with this! I'll eat them and try again on Monday!" BUT NOT THIS TIME!!!!!! :cp:

I wanted to share this with you.Especially the ones that aren't posting and having a hard time staying OP.I KNOW how hard it is and I KNOW how you feel. NO ONE can do this for you except YOURSELF! All we can do here is... be your friend, cheer you on, motivate, support and love you no matter what.

If I can do this...then believe you me, Anyone can!!! I have never been this motivated before. If I fail, please continue to love me & pick me up.

Thank you all so much for being my friend.I'm always here for you as you are me. The ones that are "missing", I hope that this letter will make it "click" and you'll try harder to get back OP and start posting again.I miss you so much.

Hugs........

Sherry 04-16-2003 11:09 PM

Dear Jennelle,

I am speachless!! I don't know what to say!! But I'm sure you have thought about this for awhile now and you decided this was the best thing for you. I just have to ask if you ever considered teaching K-4th? I just hate to see a good teacher leave. They are so hard to come by.

What are your plans now? Please know that I'm here for you and will stand by you on any decisions you make.:grouphug:

Love Ya......

DebbieA 04-16-2003 11:13 PM

Hey again!

I'm tired and fixing to go to bed but just had to post to Sherry and Jennelle.

First...Jennellle...I am speechless!! What happened today? Can you go to another school in your system? Whatever happened, I'm sure you felt you had to resign. Take care, we love you!!!

Sherry.... You must be the strongest person I know!! To resist Tangalongs...LOL. I am SO proud of you. If you make it through tonight, I have no doubt you will go all the way this time!! Better get out all those big clothes and take them to the goodwill!!! WTG!!! WTG!!! :cp: :bravo:

hugs...Deb

Jennelle 04-16-2003 11:35 PM

Sherry - I second what Debbie said! To resist a whole box of ANY Girl Scout cookie! What a woman! :bravo:

As for the questions....to be certified for K-4, I would have to go back and get a master's degree in elementary ed. Right now, I am about two weeks from being full certified 7-12 in English and Social Studies. When I first started teaching, I wanted to teach high school. As far as going to another school in my system, even if I could, I wouldn't. The system is mismanaged from the top down.

I had already applied for postions in the district my kids attend, and I know they've sent my application to 14 schools - 9 of which I'd work at. I also know that one of the private school "chains" is hiring subs for $65 a day. I also know a girl who teaches 5th/6th language arts at a school about 25 min. from here and she says they need another lang. teacher because one is retiring next year. I'm trying to stay away from that grade level, though.

siamese 04-17-2003 03:09 AM

hello all my floozie friends!!!!!!!
glad to see everyone is doing well.
great losses staying op!
sher your doing so good!
im proud of you for giving them cookies away!

ive known this girl since we were like 6.
after her mom died suddenly last april she found out her dad had been seeing anouther woman and they became engaged in june.
well she didnt take to this well.
her parents had bought alot of rentals including the one shes lived in 13 years,
well her dad put most of em up for sale and came into alot of money but she couldnt believe hed betray her mom.
well her other sister is money hungry stirred up trouble.
so theyve not talked since oct.
well her dad got married in dec.
she was crushed.
in feb.
he told her to move out he was selling the house!!!!
then 2 weeks ago he took her van away.
he cosigned well her mom did he didnt want the responsibility.
so he gave her 24 houirs to buy it off .

i love you all!!!!!!
doni

ShelleyM 04-17-2003 05:38 AM

Jennelle-I hope that you find the job you so well deserve. Maybe a private school would be better for you. It's so hard when your entire district is screwed up!! Whatever you decide to do, just know that we are behind you 150%!!!

Sherry-Good going, girl!! I'm so proud of you! You deserve a huge round of applause!!

As for me, last night was the Passover seder at my parents house, and I ate everything I possibly could!! It was all yummy, and I don't feel guilty about it!!

Have a great day everyone!

Jennelle 04-17-2003 08:07 AM

Shelley - I have been considering private school full-time, but they just don't pay well. Most around here start at $16,000-$17,000 a year. If I'm going to work hard, I'd at least like to have a little something to show for it.

Sherry 04-17-2003 08:08 AM

Mornin'

I'm about to leave for work.I just wanted to say hi and to tell you to have a wonderful OP day!! ;)

I hope my letter last night didn't sound bad.I was so happy and of course no one understands more then ya'll. I sure can't "brag" to my family. They don't have a weight problem and just don't understand how hard it is.

Doni....I'm glad you posted!! I'll post back to you tonight!

Jennelle.....I'm thinking of you ALL day today.I'll post more to you tonight also!!

Love & Hugs...........
:chockiss:

gdeann 04-17-2003 09:49 AM

GOOD MORNING FLOOZIE SISTERS!!!!

DEE: How close are you to Toronto? Did you hear about the SARS scare there?

Deb: I bought all the candy for the kids and stuffed it in the closet. Hopefully, out of sight, out of mind. Didn't buy very much, plan on tossing in some moola instead!

Jennelle: Best wishes to you with any decision that you make. We are here for you if you need a sounding board.

Sher: {{{SUPER, DUPER BIG HUGS!!}}} Those TANGALONGS would of became TAGALONGS on your hips!!!! We love you!!!! Great inner strength going on there! Dr. Phil would be so proud of you!!!!

Doni: Sorry to hear about your friend. Family problems and a divorce. I bet she treasures your friendship!!! She will be in my thoughts. GREAT job on the weight loss!!!

Jeanne: Question: When you finally met your friends from the internet, did they match the vision that you had of each one in your mind? I know as far as you guys, I have a visual of each one of you going on. I'm just curious how close you were to personalities etc. finally being able to compare to the real thing.

Well, I need to go!!! Have a great OP day!!! Love ya!!!!

Jennelle 04-17-2003 10:15 AM

Sherry....That's why we're here - so we can brag on ourselves and each other! So BRAG AWAY! :D

Deelite 04-17-2003 11:38 AM

Doni I am so sorry to hear what you and your friend are going through. I know that it has to be one of the lowest times of her life. But you know what that means....the only way is up. Things will get better. Next year on this day it will seem like a bad dream that has moved a little further away. Good on you girl for losing weight at this stressful time.

Sherry you inspired me. Yesterday I made bad food choices. Sweets and more sweets. I ate chocolate and I don't even like it. I ate in my points range for weight watchers but bad food choices. Well I was getting my cup of coffee and coming over to read what has been happenning over hear and a piece of cake was calling me. I thought well I will have my first cup of coffee then if I still want it I will have a piece. After reading your story and you turning down the cookies I can do it to. Thanks Sherry, that was like a pep talk for me. I will choice healthier food today thanks to you.

Gayle Toronto is about 2000 miles away from here. We have one case here in the city though. I am more concerned about the Virology lab here. I think that is what they call it. It is about 4 miles from here. This is where they are doing all the testing on Sars. Larry did some work in that building and it is not really leak proof. My walking girlfriend Deb's parents were here on the weekend. Her mother is a nurse from Toronto. They had one case in the hospital that she works at last week. Makes me a bit nervous because that is about the closest I have been to Sars. With my immune system low I don't want to be exposed to it. By the way stuffing the candy in the closet doesn't help me. I bought chocolates yesterday and put it in my closet.....well I had a small bag of those cadbury eggs. So I got Larry to pack them up and put them in his trunk.

Jennelle you have to do what is best for you. I know that it took a lot of courage to do what you did. You will see things will work out.

Shelley I have planned to eat at the lower range of calories this week and allow myself some extra treats for sunday. I just hope that I don't eat to much. Easter is only one meal it is all the extra treats that are around that is tempting.

Debbie that's great that you are making easter baskets for the grand kids. Little ones makes special occassions really sweet.

Ramona what are your easter plans? Are both boys able to make it home?

Mom's last blood test yesterday was a bit better. It is still dangerously thin but has improved. They said it was the build up of poison from the chemo that is affecting her blood. I am so glad that she is through that. Now it will take some time to leave her body.

It is snowing out again. We had a very hot weekend and now have a clod front that came in. Tomorrow it is suppose to be back up to 65. Go figure. Well we could have used the moisture but I would have prefered it in rain.

bootwoman 04-17-2003 11:42 AM

SHERRY......I AM SOOOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!
You have got this down girl. I just wish you could send some of that willpower to me!

JENNELLE...... I have to say I was shocked also when I read your post. But, I know from reading previously, that you have been very unhappy. Just remember.....when one door closes, another one opens!

SHELLEY......I hope you enjoy your holiday festivities. Do you do something different each night during the week of passover?

DONI.......It's nice that you are such a good friend. I hope things look up soon for the young lady you wrote about.

DEBBIE......I bet you really have fun at Easter with those grandbabies! I'm making little baskets for the babies at church. There are 9 of them, mostly in the year and a half to two year range. They always like to sit with me because I put interesting things in my purse and I let them rummage through it. Hummmm, guess I should be listening to the sermon! hehehe

GAYLE.......I would love to see that picture of Liz in her prom dress. I know she must have looked like a dream!

DEE.......I hope you are getting some rest now that your company is gone. I'm afraid I wouldn't be as gracious a host as you. I'm too stuck in my own routine!

Well, I just got freight in, so I better get to work. I'll post more later......
Love,
Ramona

Deelite 04-17-2003 12:01 PM

Ramona do you think that I got enough rest yesterday? I got up at 8:30 and had 3 naps!!!! Went to bed at 11:00 and woke up at 9:30 today. I am trying to play catch-up. I was so exhausted yesterday.

DebbieA 04-18-2003 08:06 AM

Morning Girls:wave:

Hope everyone is planning a great OP day. School is out today and I am excited to have a 3 day weekend!

My mother is having knee replacement surgery on April 28th. It really worrys me because she isn't in the best of health and she is 70 years old. She will be in the hospital for 5 days and rehab for 12 days. She is training me today to take over the care of my Grannymom which is 91. My Grannymom still lives by herself but needs someone to run errands and clean her apartment or take her to the doctor, etc. I may purchase a pair of roller skates today too...LOL.

I promised to catch up soon, but guess what. I still don't have time to post to everyone...LOL. I'm meeting my Mom early and need to get ready.
Just know that this thread is such an inspiration to me. I love all of you and wish you many Easter blessings!

Hugs...Debbie

Sherry 04-18-2003 09:30 AM

Good Mornin'

Ramona*****Did you close up shop today? What are your Easter plans? How are the boys? Sorry so many questions but I had to ask them all! The main question is: ARE YOU STILL STAYING OP???? Doni****Again, I'm so glad that you posted!! I was beginning to miss you so! Please try to post more often and keep us posted how you are!! I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Bless her heart!! She's lucky to have you as her friend.

Jennelle****I forgot to ask you if you are going to finish out the year? What are your plans now? I talked to a teacher about you yesterday at my School and she said that she hates to see the good teachers being pushed out the door.Hopefully if you miss teaching later, you'll get certified and maybe teach at another School or grade. What ever your plans are...good luck!! Love ya!!

Titan...........Vicki................Jeanne....... ....Carol......& Lisa...........Where are you?????? I'm posting my signs on the telephone poles today!!!! Please post soon!!! I SURE miss you!!!!!!:grouphug:

Hugs.............

**Today is day 33 OP!!!!!!!! :cp:

Jennelle 04-18-2003 10:23 AM

Sherry - Nope, I'm done with my year. I'm still staying in the profession, though. Teaching is what I AM, not what I do, if that makes any sense at all... I had already put in applications with my local district (the GOOD one where my own children attend school) and know that my app. was forwarded to 14 schools, 9 or so of which I'd work at. I went around yesterday to some of the schools to leave letters of introduction with the principals.

There's also a "chain" of private schools that is hiring subs for $65 a day. I'm going to apply for that in the hopes that maybe I could get my foot in the door for a regular teaching job.

ShelleyM 04-18-2003 06:36 PM

HA!! I have one up on Sherry and Debbie!!! I'm off not only today, but Monday too!!

Titan Card Fan 04-18-2003 08:00 PM

Hi everyone.

Sherry and Debbie, I was only about 130 miles from Nashville, and it was really tempting, but then I thought about Isis (19 year old cat) and figured her patience at being alone would about hit bottom, so I came home.

I was in the Paducah (Ky) and Metropolis (IL) for my aunt's visitation and funeral. She was 96 years old, and had lived alone until she was over 90, but had been in bad health the past few months. I hadn't seen her for over 20 years, but she looked just like she did then ... and looked so peaceful... like she was asleep and about to wake up and tell us something. She wrote poetry and they read one of them during the sermon.

I hope everyone has a happy Easter.

siamese 04-19-2003 04:43 AM

Doni,

All I'm doing is watching my fat grams, NO seconds and exercising & walking!! Also, Tomorrow will be" 5 WEEKS" that I have been OP AND I haven't had ANYTHING to drink but WATER!!!!!!!!! I haven't had coke, tea or anything else!!! :D

I think I'm loosing & feeling better this time because I can eat what I want....just small portions AND because I'm WALKING & drinking WATER! Good luck to you!! You can do it!!!!!!! :cb:

By The Way: Debbie & I live about 30 minutes from one another.I'm in Nashville, she's in Pleasant View.

Hugs...............

I hope all of my "bestest" online friends have a wonderful Easter!!!! I have a caramel cake in the oven baking as I write this. I can't decide if I want to take an Atkins day for Easter or go ahead and splurge a bit. This will be the second time I have made this cake without even one lick or nibble. I might go ahead and have just one piece....

We will be going to Steve's parent's home for Easter (that's what the cake is for) I get along really well with all of the family except one SIL that LOVES to start trouble, not just with me, but everyone. It's nothing for her to have a "screaming episode" for no reason at all. When I see her come through the door, my stomach instantly knots up! Guess we all have'em!!! She actually use to be on medication (might still be??) to keep her under control. Anyone want to adopt her???? I will even ship her free of charge!!!!

Yes Sher, Wayne is welcome to go with Steve!!!! I really think the two might like each other. Steve's pretty easy going and always has a sense of humor. Loves to be the life of the party! Guess that's why I love him so much. Me being the shy one, I can live out what fun I could have through him! I think it would be so cool, if we ever meet, to have the hubby's meet too.

Deb: Don't wear yourself out to much before Easter!!! Great job resisting that frick'n Easter candy!!

Well, I can't post to everyone now, but just know that I will be thinking of all of you tomorrow!!!!! Love, Gayle

Easter's not a big deal here this year...I'm going out later to buy the Easter basket stuff for the kids, but I'm trying to stay away from lots of candy. Daughter will probably get some makeup in her Easter basket...don't know what to do for son. Hubby says he doesn't want any Easter candy, and I'm glad. He's getting a HUGE gut on him...I wish I could get him motivated!

Do you mind if I BRAG again????? :o

I just got home from the store.I had to go to buy more eggs to make deviled eggs for tomorrow. But now I don't have eggs!!! They are ALL BROKEN!! :( Wanna know why?????

As I was getting out of the car with the store bag in my hand, I tripped and fell. And it's BECAUSE...........

My pants are TOO BIG and I tripped over them!!!!!!!!!!!! :cb: My knee is banged up a little but I don't feel pain!!! All I feel is HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!! :D :)

Those jeans are gone FOREVER NOW!!!!! I won't EVER wear them again!!!!!! Never....ever!!!

Thanks floozie friends for letting me share this joyful news with you!!!
