EVERYBODY should go and see Hope Springs! :cp:
|
Quick check in...I have just a few minutes between meetings. At least the rest of the week I don't have as many meetings to attend. :)
I've been meaning to ask...do any of y'all have suggestions for dealing with hot flashes? The night sweats aren't too bad...but I hate getting hot flashes while at work. It's super embarassing to be in a meeting, and all of a sudden start sweating. My town's library is showing "The Hunger Games" tonight, so DMIL and I will probably go. It's free and we've both been wanting to see it. ========================= Annie - Good for you for taking a vacay day! Sounds like a great day planned!! As for bra-less...not me....except around the house. I might not step on the gals, but without a bra I risk causing bruises to them or my knees. I hope things get better for you at work. I know how awful it is when the mood at work is so negative. Shooting guns doesn't interest me. I'd much rather shoot pictures or shoot pool. :) The Covered Bridge fest sounds like lots of fun. So when does lil man turn a year old? I'm glad you're sleeping better now that you're taking the Nyquil. I can't wait 'till the 8th either! Just about 2.5 weeks! :woohoo: Ceejay - DH is doing pretty good. He's exhausted from working all week and then all weekend. And he has to work all this week and Saturday too. He might be off work on Sunday. But then he'll have the 3-day Labor Day weekend, work three days and be off work for 10 days (of course, he'll be moving DMIL's stuff out here, so he won't be relaxing). Poor guy. :( Laura - I hope your friend's work schedule works out so she can go to the Dells with you. And I'm really glad that your weekend in the Dells doesn't conflict with our get together on the 8th. :) Happy - I hope the honeymoon I'm on at work lasts a good long time! :) Good luck with the gift shopping. Okay...time to prep for my next meeting. Love and hugs, |
HAPPY...I do remember the tube tops and am guilty of wearing them. Of course I was a beautiful 34C when in high school. Now a 36C Long. Probably would feel better in a 38C Long. Lil man will be 1 yr old on October 19th. Gestation wise it will be 10 mos on Oct. 19th. He does not catch up with his physical years until 18 mos to 2 years old. Oh and BTW...another tooth popped through which makes him 3. Two on bottom 1 on top with the one next to it about to pop through.
CHELLE...I saw hunger games. It is good and a good story line, I just don't like movies where people get killed. You will like it I am sure. Especially if it is free at the library. Do you have to sit in those lil chairs for kids when you watch...haha. Gotta get this posted and back to work. I am leaving early to get my hair colored tonight by Sis. I would look like cheap white trash with my roots showing and a tube top right now...ba hahahahha |
ok, so what the heck did I search on the Internet today that the pop up ad on the top of the 3FC page was about i-n-t-e-s-t-i-n-a-l d-o-g w-o-r-m-s??? :barf: :barf: :barf:
Just popped in while waiting for dinner to finish - back later. |
I have On-line educational courses, weight stuff, birthday cards and BUPA affordable medical insurance. Now there is a lie - it's only affordable if you don't have glasses, hearing aids, go to the dentist, go to the doctor, get sick. In fact it is very affordable if you die but then you aren't insured for that

THEY'RE TRYING TO DECIDE WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE PATIENTS NO MATTER WHAT THE DRs SAY SO THEY LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING:cry: |
Quick post for me....I've got so much to get done today....OMG! but it's all good.
DMIL wasn't up for the movie last night....so we didn't go. Instead, I ordered it through the library...so when everyone else is done watching it, we'll get a chance. Or I might just go rent it. Fine by me, as I was exhausted after work, and was worried I'd fall asleep during the movie. No time for personals right now, other than to say: Annie, I love the photo of you and baby Jacob. :) So adorable! Much love to all, |
Shad
I hear you on the insurance. But once catastophic ordeal and you'd be wiped out. Happy I remember those tube tops, infact my niece wears them. I agree about those lines at the top. Laura I want to go see Hope Springs. And I don't usually want to go to the movies. I hear you on the lack of exercise. My siblings are working with me to make me accountable, but my heavens it takes a lot out of me. I need to e-mail my sis in Dallas my results this week. Mel How are things up your way? Michelle Is dmil going back to california? It saounds like you are in a happy place now at work. Hope it continues. -------- Since Shad has brought up insurance I've been wondering about my medical bills. They started to come in this week. I did the happy dance yesterday when I read the EOB that said I only owed 200 dollars to the e.r. However there's still the e.r. dr and the ambulance ride that I've not heard from yet. I've been having a good week. |
Morning Worldlies.
Ceejay - Glad the week is going well for you. I wish mine were further along... Good to have accountability with the exercise - I'm way too easy on myself. Annie - Love that photo. It's always nice to get unposed shots from different angles. Enjoy your vacation day. Michelle - Sorry you didn't catch the movie last night. I think I'll look into that one at the library as well - didn't see it in the theaters. Mel - I don't think I mentioned the festival because I will never be able to get the name right: Wo Zha Wa Days Fall Festival in Wisconsin Dells 9/14-16. Here's the link, hopw it works: http://www.wisdells.com/wisconsin-de...on/wozhawa.cfm Sometime before the fest I will need to read up on what that name means, lol. :D Oh, and festivals are great places for people watching and of course being nasty about the clothing choices of others. As for finishing projects - yup, nothing better than passing it along to the next person down the line. Happy - Huh. Wonder what made that come up. I've got $3 fitness videos as my popup. Shad - Yeh, funny how insurance only covers what you don't need, or only a pittance of the cost. Well, not funny. Pathetic. Hey Ellen - Was Monday the first day of school? I think in my area it's today. Hope it isn't too insane!! Hi Patty - how's it going?? === I thought Hope Springs was a really good movie - very thought-provoking for people in long-term marriages/relationships. Not all of it lighthearted and funny as the trailers might want you to think, but a good amount of humor in it. Imagining oneself in front of a therapist like the couple in the movie (in couples counseling) and discussing the topics they did - wow, awkward for sure. Tonight is an exercise class!!! Bf bought the fixin's for chili yesterday but didn't make it last night, so I fully expect to be eating some for dinner tonight - or else. :rollpin: :D He will use serrano peppers from our garden. Okay, back to work! Have a great day everyone!! |
Morning all,
We have these pretty goldfinches in the yard as well as black capped chick-a-dee-dee-dees :D I've been trying to get a picture of the goldfinch for a while now. They sit on the feeder or on the bird bath and the minute I pull out the camera, they fly away. I went to put away the thistle feeder last night (the bears like the bird feeders) and there was the goldfinch mocking me. I had to stalk it in the yard for a while. Not the clearest picture but it gives you an idea of how bright they are. The males are very bright yellow, the females are a duller greener yellow. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...chonfeeder.jpg |
Yesterday I was planning to go into town to pick up a few things and DH decided to come with. I was able to get what I needed and as we walked through the shops we found a wonderful popcorn store that has the most amazing flavors. We walked out with a bag of garlic parmesan and white and gold cheddar. Yum! There is also a local winery shop, went in there - sorry to see they were out of lemon flavored olive oil. Tried 2 samples of wine and walked out with a nice bottle of white I will enjoy soon. We know one of the locals who has a game store and he was telling DH this is the worst year for shoplifters ever. They are catching about 4 a week which is an awful lot for the volume of people who come through here. Kind of pathetic if you ask me.
Given what some of you have posted, it would be fun to see what pop up ads the rest of you are getting  I'm back to diet plans which is way better than what yesterday was displaying :dizzy: Laura - glad you liked the movie, I think you have to be in a long term relationship to understand it. I agree with you on the therapist. My DH would have reacted the same way as TLJ - he always said he'd never go to a counselor because of the touchy questions they ask  Can't believe you had not heard of The Hunger Games movie. They really gave it alot of press when it came out in the theaters. I haven't seen it - thought it was on the violent side which is not my kind of thing. I guess it's based on a trilogy of books - the movie sparked interest in the books which is good. Ceejay - I agree with you on the insurance. Even if I banked the premiums for an entire year, the one trip DH took to the ER when his heart was palpitating badly enough to worry him a bit would have eaten all those savings and more. I complain about insurance but it's also nice to know we can go to the doctor when we need to. That's good that you're ER visit didn't cost you as much as you thought. The ambulance may be covered also. Hope so :crossed: Annie - LOVE that picture you posted of you and Jacob. I think the best pictures are not posed but those that capture a slice of life at the moment. And the carrots on his face are just an extra bonus of cuteness :D I had to laugh about you talking about your roots showing and looking like a hot mess. I saw a tv advertisement for the show The X-factor where I guess Britney Spears (yes, not the model of glamour I admit) is a new judge. She had wild hair and 1 inch dark roots on her very light hair so maybe you'd be in fashion  Hope you enjoy your day off with C. Mel - I have gotten about a dozen tomatoes from my garden already - slow - about 1 every 3 days or so except for the grape tomatoes which are coming in nicely. I actually bought a box (38 pounds) from a farmers truck in town last week. Those are the ones I am using to make all the sauces and stuff since mine aren't ripening in enough quantity to cook up at once. I still have about 15 pounds to cook up. Went to the store yesterday to get more onion and garlic so I think I will roast the bulk of them instead of making sauce. This way I can use them for lots of different things. Glad you liked the chicken dinner - very easy to make. Sorry they are pestering you at the office before you are ready for them. Why do they do that???? Has it dried up out your way or still gray and wet? Shad - I did get a baby gift for Sophia finally. Want me to send it to you or send it directly to DS? Let me know. PM me with an address if sending it to baby. I hope it will meet with M's approval. There's a baby store in town and I was looking for an excuse to go in there. So many adorable things. The had some cute baby shoes from New Zealand and I thought that's funny - buy them here and ship them back around the world to whense they came  No, I didn't buy the shoes or any clothing as I don't know how big or little the babies are. Anyway hope you are enjoying your time at home for the moment. Michelle - is DH driving DMIL back to CA with him to pick up her stuff? That's got to be an exhausting trip driving so far in a rather short time. I hope he can get his strength back. That's it for me. I have cooking and laundry to do. Have a good day peeps. |
Morning all,
bad nights sleep last night and I've been awake since around 2.30am. Laid in bed and read for a while then decided to get up. It's now just breaking daylight so I guess I can go do something like getting the washing done and making a list of stuff to be done today. I'm currently digging out a garden that hasn't been doing so well and I will put pavers and gravel in there when the soil is gone and create a place for the bins and green waste bag. I have to dig down about 10 inches, then fill with road base gravel, pavers and gravel and river stones. All being well it might look quite good. Hard physical work though and not made easier knowing that down there is some electrical cables and some water lines. Do not chop through any of them Shad - although I am not digging down that deep. I also need to remember to put some 'danger' tape down there to warn anyone else that might dig in the future and a sign on the fence to state that they are there. Happy - just send the parcel here. I will forward it onto Miss Sophia from here. Thank you so much. Yesterday I planted out my garden with tomatoes, lettuce, beans and corn. Looking good so far. I still have some more garden to dig over and plant. It will happen in the next couple of weeks. Popcorn sounded nice. Wondeer why they are importing baby stuff from NZ. Well better than China I suspect. World gone mad. Annie - lovely picture of you and the lil man. Sometimes candid photos are just the best. Unposed seems to work better. Laura - that festival sounds like fun. You get to see some wonderful talent at craft shows like that. Michelle - hope DH is up to the long haul trip, but I think you said that he will be spending some time in Yosemite or Yellowstone or somewhere. That should soothe and lift the soul. I've got it on my list for next time over there. Ceejay - for you over there, yes a health catastrophy would wipe you out, however here we have public hospitals paid for from the taxes we pay. If, heaven forbid, I have a heart attack, cancer or stroke, I get taken by ambulance to one of those and get priority treatment anyway. If they can't deal with whatever is wrong with me, I get private hospital treatment paid for by the public health system. I pay enough in taxes to keep a small town in medical supplies anyway. Our big problem is people clogging up the system by going to the ER on weekends when they should be going to their GP. They do this because the majority have to work and the GP centres are not always open on weekends although they can go to any GP that is open. Just means more paperwork for them. People being lazy as they are, don't like paperwork. However things are changing and I can see a time when younger people and families will have to have health insurance. How they will afford this I don't know. Mel - that comment from the doctor must make you wonder what the **** it is all about. Well apart from profit that is. Sounds like you are having fun in the office again - NOT Time to get dressed and go get outside and dig some more. Hopefully it will all get to ground level today and then down a bit further tomorrow. |
