  • Hi Ladies,

Today I got my highlights done and on Friday I am going to get my nails done for the party on Friday. I was hoping to fit in a hot pink dress but...instead I am going to wear a black little dress with these great sling back shoes I bought today. Well, even though my weigh-in isn't until Friday I know I am not going to make my first April goal of 124 however, at least tonight the scale does show some movement. We are leaving for Florida in less than two weeks and I hope to at least come close to losing a few more pounds.

Cyan, I love the pic of your kitty. We just got a 8 month old red tabby from the SPCA. "Buttercup" has been sick and at the vet for longer than we had him but he did come home today. He is very sweet and the kids love him.

Cyan, Miki, Lady, Lisa, Reina, Deana hope all is well this week we can all show a loss!
  • Happy Friday Ladies!!
I hope you are all having a joyous day, and are looking forward to a great weekend!!

Well, I worked out twice this week at curves and I got my monthly measurements. Well for me, since I didn't go almost the whole month of March, it was my two month measurements.
    and I lost
4.75 inches and 8lbs since I started there.....
And I didn't gain anything as of Wednesday night after all my birthday binging.
Not bad.. I am going again tonight and tomorrow morning. Get 4 times this week. So going back has put me in the zone, so I am ready to get going again.

Debee, if at first you don't succeed, try and try again. That is what I am doing, I didn't hit my 185 goal, but I will get there for sure in the next 2 weeks. I want to see pics of you and your stylish dress and slingbacks heels. I love slingback heels, I think they are so classy!

Miki, How was the Church Tent revival, better yet, what is a church tent revival??

Cyan, hope the pasta episode passed for you? Hope all goes well with the cardiologist today for your mom...

Lisa, and Lady, deana, hope you are all having a great week.
  • Hi all! Had a busy day and just now getting in here at almost midnite! I lost 2 lbs this week! I knew I had eaten ok but a couple of days I didnt exercise at all so I wasnt really sure what the outcome would be.

Today I had stir fry for lunch and a roasted chicken sandwich from Subway tonite. That would have been fine except just an hour ago, Phil, Josh, a friend of Josh's, and I went to Baskin Robbins and each had 2 scoops of ice cream. I had Nutty Coconut and Pralines and Cream. YUMMMM!

Reina, sounds like you're motivated again. Good for you! And congrats on the inches lost...that's encouraging huh? I enjoyed the tent revival. What they do is get a huge tent set up outside and have the church service outdoors. Monday thru Friday nite, there was music and a sermon. It's pretty neat being outside at nite. Hearing a sermon about God and his greatness and being able to see the stars at the same time is really cool.

Debee, you'll definitely have to send us pics and tell us all about your party. It's April now...remember one of your goals is to find out how to post your pics on here.

Cyan, how is your weekend going so far?? Did you weigh? What did you decide about getting the blood work done? It just doesnt seem right at all that you havent been losing so I think it would be a good idea. I hope you're having a restful weekend. How is your mom?

Lisa, Lady, and Taiwan....Hoping to hear from ya'll soon! Have a great weekend and post when you can!

    Nite all

    MIKI
  • Where is everybody?? No new messages in two days! Guess everyone is busy...hopefully in a fun way. Looking forward to all of you getting back to post.

    Miki
  • Hello ladies
Quick Note..no weight loss to report....I havent lost anything in weeks...dont know what to do..I have to re-evaluate what I have to do next.

I ate reasonbly well ...a little too much on saturday and fine on sunday...Dont have much time right now..I will post more tomorow

    Cyan
  • Hello ladies. Well, the weekend is over already and tomorrow it's back to school for us. I did get some housework and studying done so, I feel okay.

Weight wise, I've begun to assess my situation. I've gained about 3 to 5 pounds. I'm slowly formulating a plan to get back in gear and in the mean time, I'm making healthier choices. I really need to get back into the exercise thing.

    Well, that's all for now!
    Lisa
  • Hi ladies,

Just a quick note! On Friday I weighed in at 127! I was very happy and with control top panty hose with my little black dress looked pretty good! The party was great on Friday night ...lots of fun with friends...lots of food and drink and yes I ate everything!!!
By he way a 24 year old guy even flirted with me!

This whole weekend was very bad foodwise. Saturday night we went out to this new french/chinese place that opened near us, it was expensive $100 (without drinks) for two for chinese food but good. The house is filled with junk food that we bought for he kids and the babysitter and I have been nibbling on chips and candybars. Monday I promise that I will exercise and eat better because we are leaving for Florida in a week.

Tonight I got on the scale and it said 130 so I don't know if I gained three pounds over the weekend or if it is because I ate alot of salty food and might be retaining water. I know I ate the worst that I have in months so if I gained it is my fault. I need to motivate myself and get the junk food out of this house on Monday..no eating out this week...plan healthy meals...exercise ...keep to 1,200 calories...those are my goals for the week. Hope everyone gets to post soon!
  • I need an easy convenient way to monitor my calorie intake without using the computer. I'm hardly ever home anymore and I need to be at 1500 calories a day.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Lisa
  • Happy Monday All!
    Good morning ladies,
Hope you all had a nice weekend. It was an uneventful weekend for me. I did workout and stayed under my points for hte weekend, a little too much, but it won't hurt, I was over so much last week, it all balances out right ???

I did make my 0 point soup yesterday, so I will be enjoying that for lunch for the next 2 days or so. I gave mine a little kick today, and threw in some Cayanne pepper and fresh lime.

Lisa, I would just recommend on a Sunday and Wednesday night, plan all meals by calories, with choices and have those ready, measure out your snacks like pretzels, popcorn adn things like that and have them on hand.
I have written on every box, can, and package what the WW points are and group them with other things to have the meals ready in my pantry to cook, when I get the chance.
Being away from home is very difficult when trying to eat appropriately... I have also read through the entire WW restaurant guide, so I know exactly what I can eat and what is way out of my point range.
    I hope this helps.

Debee, Sounds like you had a great night out with your sexy self, in that black dress and pantyhose!!!
I am sure the scale was reflecting all the sodium intake, Just get back on track this week, hey, make yourself a pot of that 0pt soup as well, I love it. Flav just hates when I make it, becuase it smells up the house like cabbage, (his least favorite food)....

Cyan, I don't know what to tell you, other than, please, please don't give up... I am sure that scale will move sooner or later, I keep telling myself that.

Mikki, Sorry I didn't post. Your tent revival sounds like alot of fun...Congrats on the 2lb loss. And I keep forgetting that when I spluge on cals, it should be on something like Baskin Robbins, I am so motivated right now, all I want to do is work out and lose this weight, it was getting warm here, and I was thinking that I wasn't gonna get into those capri's so I have to get on the ball...

Well, today was the start of Baseball here in Chicago for the Cubs, and guess what, it was cancelled, becuase IT SNOWED IN CHICAGO IN APRIL!!!
What can you say, This is Chicago, we can have on day where it is 79 degrees, and the next, it is 20 degrees... Unreal.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Welcome back everyone! It was lonesome in here over the weekend! So glad ya'll made it back

I had a nice but uneventful weekend also. Did horrible Sunday with my eating. Well, Saturday was kinda bad too. After the ice cream Fri nite, on Sat. we grilled at my sisters and had steak, potatoes(with sour cream), baked beans, salad, lemon icebox pie, etc. Sunday I did great until 4 pm then suddenly I ate everything I could find in the house! I think the weather had alot to do with it...major storms, tornado watches, etc...couldnt get outside. Before all that started tho, my sis and I did get to walk our 2 miles. Finished just before all the rain.

Today has been better. Did 15 min on mom-in-laws Airwalker at lunch, then came home at 4 and walked 2 miles again with my sis. I feel sooo much better when I do that.

Cyan, have you taken your measurements?? You are doing too good to not be making some progress somewhere. Maybe your scales are broken? Hang in there! Been too long to give up now.

Debee, glad you had a good time at your party. I'd love to see some pics. It's Monday...now you gotta stay outta those candybars and chips. Remember your Florida trip coming up.

Lisa, you're right. It's really hard eating right when you're on the go so much. I bought a book at BooksAMillion a few weeks ago that lists several restaurants and the nutrition values of each item on their menus. I use that to plan what I'll eat during the day since I live too far to go home for lunch. I know at Sonic, a grilled chicken sandwich has 210 calories and the roasted chicken at Subway has 320. I mainly eat those 2 items if I dont take my lunch. That way I dont have to guess how many calories I'm sacrificing during lunch. I dont do alot of variety for the mere fact that its' too much trouble figuring out all the calories. I never eat fries with my sandwiches anymore...but I have been having a Diet Vanilla Coke with them instead of the water I used to drink.

I keep saying I'm going to make out a menu for the week during the weekend and get all the ingredients I need so I wont have to take so much time after work trying to figure out what to cook at nite. So far, it's a great idea that I havent gotten around to doing..

Reina, great to hear you're motivated again. I'm really psyched up too...lets stay that way ok? I am totally determined for another loss this week. Your motivation helps mine.

Lady, I know you're having a blast with your family. You'll have to tell us all about it.

Taiwan, hope things are well with you. No chicken pox there I hope. Come back and join us as soon as you can.

Well, for some reason, I'm exhausted tonite. I think I'm going to head to bed early.

    Miki
  • Good Evening Ladies
Tonight I cycled for 40 minutes at top speed for a distance of 10.5km...the music was great!

My cals were a little hight at 1600 and 44 grams of fat..I had two glasses of grapefruit and orange juice...I've been craving juices lately..so as you know....the cals add up...but I really really was craving it.

Hey Debee ....the lady in the black dress I'm sure you were one hot Momma!

Reina....you should cook cabbage soup every weekend

Hey Lisa...I think Reina had a good idea...one day a week..sit down and plan your meals...so that they add up to 1500 cals...the challenge ..is then to stick to it

Miki congrats on your weight loss...can I borrow your metabolism please

I am tired so I am off to bed..I hate this one hour forward business.

    later ladies

  • Hi Everyone!
Well, my daughter and her family went home on Sat. I will really miss them, but they will be back this summer. I didn't exercise and ate horribly wlhile they were here, and gained 3 lbs. But today the scale said I lost all 3! Yea! I have been so busy having fun organizing my business, creating data basis, business cards, etc, that I have been doing little else...like exercising and calorie counting. Bryan reminded me tonight that I'm slacking off and have to make running my priority again.

Cyan, I wish I could wave a magic wand over that scale for you. Don't give up, though, ok?

Debee! You sexy little thing! You go girl!!

Renee, I love the picture of you and Josh! Congrats on your big loss, Curves is certainly working for you!

Miki, Congrats on your loss too! Glad to hear you're back on the air walker.

Lisa, if you don't have time to count calories, you might try what a friend of mine did. She lost weight by throwing away 1/2 of everything she ate. She said she wasn't wasting food by throwing it in the trash anymore than if she threw it into her mouth.

OK, everyone, tomorrow is a new day and I'm officially back on program!

    Have a great one!
    Lady
  • Hi ladies,

Cyan, I agree with you about the time change...I am so tired! You are still the exercise queen with your cycling.

Lady, glad you had a great time with your family. It sounds like you are having fun with your new business.

Miki, I promise I will get my pic on here soon. I had sent some pics to reina at her home address so if you can not wait for me to figure out on how to get on the web site e-mail me ([email protected]) your home address and I will send you some pics the old fashion snail mail way. By the way the candy and chips are out because yes, I ate most of the junk! The timne change and weather ...we had snow yesterday made me go on the hunt for food...today is better.

Reina, when you get excited and motivated it really helps me to get back on the program...I always say to myself that reina is being good this week so I better be good!

Lisa, I find it hard when you eat out to know what to order..Miki is right pick one or two things you like and then just have them for lunch...let the variety be in your dinner.

Taiwan, hope everyone is fine and you will post soon.

Today Jake had the start of a cold and I was going to keep him home but he seemed better so he went to school. I went to the GAP (by the way Reina and Miki they had boys khaki's on sale for $12.99) and got the kids some things for Florida and their Easter outfit...khaki,s oxford shirt, blue vests...I think that this will be the last year they will let me dress them alike. For easter we will be going to a resturant brunch when we get back from Florida so I wanted the kids to look good even if it was just for a few minutes before they get dirty.

Maybe I'll get a chance to post more tonight.
  • I love coming in to find lots of long posts!

Cyan, it was nice getting to chat tonite. Hope things turn out well with your mom tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you both. Oh, and craving those juices could be worse...I think calories from those are probably better than calories from a candybar or bag of chips. At least there is some nutritional value to juice...chips are empty useless calories and they are my downfall.

Welcome back, Lady! Glad to hear you had a good time with your daughter and her family. Summer will be here before you know it. How nice that Bryan supports your exercise...it does help motivate, doesnt it?

Debee, what a bargain on the khakis! I love good deals. I find lots of things on clearance racks. I've been tired the last 2 days also. I assume from the time change. It's weird because Sunday seemed extra long to me, I wasnt sleepy at all, but yesterday and I today I've been exhausted.

I did do 15 min on the AirWalker again at lunch, then tonite walked 2 miles with my sister after watching Luke's basketball game. We walk and talk the whole time so it doesnt even seem like exercise. I had Subway for lunch and supper so calories are ok too.

Lisa, Lady's friend did have a good idea. Cutting back will help you lose weight regardless of the exact calorie intake. Less is Less. lol So if you order a sandwich and fries, eat half of each and throw away the rest..OR...just eat a whole sandwich and dont order fries. Thats what I do. I havent ordered fries with a sandwich in months. ( altho I have been known to snitch a couple of the kids'.. ) That way I can still eat fast food with the family and not feel totally guilty.

Well, need to run. Luke is calling me to tuck him in, Josh is wanting me off here so he can use the phone, and Phil already headed to bed to read.

    Nite all

    MIKI
  • I'm here
Well, nothing really to report. No weight loss (didn't weighin actually) but will on Monday I guess. No chicken pox yet either, and hope it stays that way. We had a guest last weekend (he came into town for a funeral), and our mission board president and vp are due in on Friday I think, or is it Thursday (better make sure I get it right.)
I have gotta tell you all this. The cremation ceremony was kinda funny. We had the funeral service at church and then headed over to the crematory (sp?). Well, we get there and the place next to us (ok, hard to describe, just a room with two benches that go into a hole in the wall and I don't know what happens behind there), so it's like two cremations going on at once. Well, the one next to us was Buddhist. They had already started thiers and was cling cling clang clanging and chanting away when we started ours. As Christians we sing hymns about seeing the loved one again in heaven. Well, we started singing and the level of the cling cling clang clang got louder, then I noticed the singing was louder. It seemed to be kinda like who would be the loudest, the Christian singing hymns or the Buddhist chanting and clinging clanging away. I was trying not to laugh as it would've been inappropiate, but it was funny.

A friend on another list is trying to get me to the 3day diet. Basically eating 3 days of low calories and then 4 days of regular eating. I tried today and was starving by 3pm. Dinner seems like it will be better. I am just not motivated, don't know what my problem is.
Can I share something? I am so jealous/mad at my dh. He can just go play basketball anytime he feels like it and I am stuck with the kids, well the baby (who is napping right now). I just feel like when I am up to exercsing I don't have time, when there is time, I either have cleaning or washing to do or I am just so stinkin' tired. Ok, I feel a little better.

I will write more. I am looking for a recipe for low calorie muffins to fix for breakfast. I figure I can make a batch (put them off limits to the others) and freeze them and have like a muffin and juice for breakfast (or makes a good snack too).

    Take care ladies
