  • Happy Monday Everyone!

Reina! Congratulations on you loss! And I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than raising money for a good cause.

Taiwan! Congratulations on your loss too! Way to Go, Girl! I hope Josiah is feeling better. I know it’s inconvienent, but I’m glad they are taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of disease.

Cyann! Congratulations on those Capri pants! More than anything that tells you you’re losing weight. I’m gonna have to try that hummus stuff.

Mikki – keep up that walking and I hope your exercise tapes come in soon.

For the past 6 weeks I have been fluctuating between 138 and 140. My lowest weight (6 weeks ago) was 137, but I haven’t been back there since. Any way, I was 139 last week and weighed in @ 138 this morning, so I’m hoping I will see 137 next week. Once I get down to 136 I will feel like I’m losing again. Meanwhile I will keep within my point range, run 4 or 5 times a week and not eat after 8. I find this last one is easier if I save a snack to eat around 7:30.

Have a great day, and lets keep up the good work!

    Lady
  • Hello everyone! How are you all? Well, I am rejoicing. I just got done taking my nursing final. I did great. I am able to finish the semester with a B! I am so relieved. There are 3 people that I know of who didn't pass the class and I am sad for them...especially one of them who was a dear friend. But, I've got my head held high and I'm so pleased with my accomplishment.

I've missed you all so much and I'm hoping now I'll have more time to check in and chat with you guys! Tomorrow is my colonoscopy so today I'm drinking clear fluids and later on I get to start the cleansing process.....for those of you who might not be sure what I mean....it ain't going to be pretty!

    Well, that's all for now!

    see ya'll soon!
    Lisa
  • Hi,

Lisa, you must be so happy! I'm happy that you will be able to post more.

Lady, you will be 136 next week--no one is going to stop you! Buy some red roasted pepper hummus this week...you'll be hooked.

Miki, "mini me" is on your shrinking shoulder waiting for you to make 198 next week...remember no excuses!

Cyan, if your clothes are fitting better than you are losing or toning. Your hard work is paying off!

Deana, keep up the exercise you are on the losing side again. I accept your challenge of no eating after 8pm

Reina, yes...1.2 pounds! I am going to really try to get up at 6:30 but that means getting to bed earlier maybe by 10:30.

The weekend was very busy. Saturday I went to a first communion and wore this black silk skirt (size 6) with pink rose buds, black fitted tank top and little black silk jacket. I had to wear a gridle and control top panty hose and hold my breath most of the time but I fit in the skirt (it was an A-line style so it did give me a little room). The good news was that my friend kept asking me how much weight did I lose (she is a size 6 wet)

On Sunday my son Jimmy made me breakfast in bed and gave me a coupon book filled with him doing chores, listening to me, ect. jake my four year old made me a heart pin in pre-school that is now the most precious piece of jewerly I own. My husband when he was in London went to Harrods and got me an assortment of teas and jams to have a ladies tea. It was a very nice Mother's Day.

    I'll try to post later!
  • good afternoon Ladies
One more hour and my day at work is over..thank goodness...its hard to be creative for a full 8 hours.

Anyway..tonight is badminton night! It should be fun.

Good to read your posts...looks like everyone is slimming down.

Lisa...congrats on finishing your semester with a B...and good luck with the colonoscopy...

I am so tired right now that I dont have the desire to type so I will finish off now...later ladies

  • Hi Ladies,

Good thing tomorrow is another day...today was not good.

First I tried to get up at 6:30 but just laid in bed until 7 a.m. so I was mad at myself for not getting up for that extra half hour. I skipped breakfast this morning and just had two cups of coffee. I was very hungry by lunch time and was good and had my turkey in a pita and some carrots and green tea for lunch, for a snack I had some popcorn and then for dinner I had minestone soup. Tonight Jake had t-ball and we were in charge of snack...I brought juice boxes and snack size chips, nachos, pretzels....Here is were it gets bad...I ate two bags of nachos, two bags of chips, for a total of almost 600 calories and then I went to get a hazelnut coffee and topped it off with two cups of special k strawberry cereal. I was not hungry ...I just ate them because they were there and I was bored! I hate when I eat healthy for most of the day and then blow it by doing what I did tonight.

On wednesday I plan to get back on track..I will eat oatmeal for breakfast, my turkey pita for lunch, and soup for dinner....no snacking! I will try to do yoga, climb the stairs more and since it is Jimmy's field day maybe even run around a bit with him at school.

Sorry I am rambling but I needed to put down my thoughts and how I will correct my behavior for the rest of the week. Hope everyone has a great evening!
  • Well, it seems like everyone is doing great. I haven't been good at all. Monday and Tuesday we had all day fosterparent classes. So breakfast on the run, lunch there (Chinese food!!) and because we haven't been to the grocery store yet, not good dinners. We are going this afternoon though.
Debee--did Sat and Sunday count?:-) It was my hubby's fault we didn't eat until about 8pm--seriously, it was. Monday and Tuesday I didn't eat after 8. So if we start from SUnday 2/7 days are good so far. It's almost 10am and I already walked a good 30min with my friend. We are doing it in the AM now, before my breakfast. Can we say SWEAT!!!! That is good though. I know on the stepper, if I do about 12min, that is burning 170 calories and is roughly 1200steps. So just double that? I will try the stepper or some abs and butt exercises later (try being the key word). Well, waiting very impatiently for my low carb cookbook and books to get here. hope they get here soon.

It's going to be hot today (I have already had 3cups of water and it's not even 10am yet).
QUestion, what type of supplements do you all take? I have started taking a stress formula for Women (it has iron in it), folic acid and calcium. AFter I finish the women tabs, I maylook for another multivitamin. What are you all taking?

    Have a great one ladies.

    Deana
  • Good Morning Ladies
Well My calories have risen slightly...this past week I have been eating more...not sure why but I will bring it back down to 1500 cals starting today!!

I did play badminton last night and it was fun...good workout too.

Taiwan...I take vitamins too...I take selenium, chromium, b-complex, omega 3,6,9...this is one gel capsule of essential fatty acids and coral calcium daily. A few times per week I take cayenne..in capsule form and once per week a kelp tablet.

Selenium is a good cancer fighter, chromium..is a good blood sugar regulator, b-complex a good cancer fighter, the omega 3,6,9 are good for the heart and lower bad cholesterol. Calcium...from japan...is good for all sort of stuff besides the obvious. Cayenne is good for blood circulation and is supposed to boost metabolism. And kelp is supposed to help a sluggish thyroid.

Tonight I plan on sticking to my 1500 cals, to exercise ...either cycle or lift weights...if I am good Iwill do both. I have been very good about not eating after 8..so I will continue to do this.

    Ok Ladies..have a great day.

    Cyan

    And I feel great!
  • well, it's 9:40pm and guess what? I am eating. I did eat mwo ji (I have no idea what it's called in English. It's made from rice that has been beaten with a stick and then they put peanut powder (or red bean or other stuff in it). It's really good. THEN dh and ds go out to rent a video and come back with shaved ice. Ok, totally different than the states. It's like a bowl of shaved ice, but the add sweet stuff and red beans and anything you want to basically. Don't know how else to explain it. So I have already lost the after 8 eating challenge--boohoo!!!

    DEana
  • Hi,

Deana, don't despair! Not eating after 8 p.m is the hardest thing for me to do. I think I use food as a stress release at the end of the day and snack not because I am hungry. By the way weekends don't count for our challenge...on sat and sun I try to give myself a little break. As far as supplements sometimes I take a multi-vitamin or green tea capusle not every day though.

Cyan, it sounds like the exercise is putting you in a great mood. It is so hard to lower those calories but at least we are trying.

Well, so far today I did what I said I would do last night. For breakfast I had oatmeal with apples, lunch was popcorn and dinner was bean soup. I did not snack and kept busy walking, climbing lots of stairs, lifting things so I got a workout. Tonight I hope to get the kids in bed by 8:30 and be in bed myself by 9:30. Thursday, I will try to get up early, eat oatmeal, turkey pita and soup. By Friday I hope to make 125.

    Have a great evening.
  • This is the weirdest thing. Just last nite I mentioned to Phil that maybe I should be taking some kind of vitamin or supplement of some kind. Tonite I sign in and find out you're all discussing just that. I told him it's cool how somehow we all seem to always be on the same wavelength.

I've done ok today with my eating but so far I've only done 5 min on the AirWalker. It's raining so we couldnt walk. I'm going to TRY to get motivated and do more on the AirWalker or workout some with Josh maybe. My tapes are still not in!! They cost 2 pmts of $19.95 but I paid the entire amount in one payment to get them earlier and they still havent shown up! I'm getting really aggravated. My sis called them today and they're supposed to be trying to find out what the prob is.

Sounds like everyone is still on the right track. Keep it up!

    Miki
  • Hi ladies,

Well, my plans for last night changed and my husband came home a day earlier from a biz trip and wanted to go out to dinner so at 8p.m. we went to the italian resturant in our neighborhood and I had a salad and lemon chicken and really good bread. Oh well, this week is not going as good as I wished. I guess it is just a week by week battle.

This morning I went to the auction and bought two bags of costume jewerly for $10 and 8 movie prints from the 1940's for the basement media room. Afterwards for lunch I took Jake and three 4 year old to Chucky Cheese and had two slices of pizza but I did run around the place for two hours so I did probably burn calories.

Miki, I was also thinking about taking more vitamins...I just do a hit or miss thing now.

I have to go to the bus stop...hope to post more tonight.
  • doing ok
well until I helped Joshua finish his breakfast (french toast!!). did 30min of walking today so far and it's only 9:40am.

Yesterday we went to friends house for dinner, so I just had one bowl of rice and then ate Chinese. There was beef/green pepper stir fry (though he used cornstarch I could tell, I don't usually), eggs/chives and pork and cabbage. Chinese style is to have usually 3-5 plates of food sitting in the middle of the table and everyone takes what they want. Didn't get full yet wasn't hungry.

ok, what is allowed after 8pm? I had a cup of decaf coffee, is that legal ? Luke ate the left overs of Pizza Hut.

I am going to try ---try being the key word here--- to do some toning today and really start that. That would help alot I know.

Well, Josiah is getting into everything, what else is new. Hopefully one of these days I'll have time to really write to everyone. My weigh in day was on Monday, but I decided to change back to Friday with you all Well, I did get on the scale today and unbelievably it said down another pound 186lbs!!!!! One pound away from my prepregnancy weight with Josiah--yippeeeeeeee!!!!! have a long way to go with the weight from Joshua but hey, at least by my baby's 1st birthday I will have lost all the baby weight and more, that is good for me

So now I can say I am at my lowest, but "how low can you go?"

    Deana
  • Hi all...

Ok, I walk walk walk but I really need a LOT more toning up. Those of you who do toning exercises, I need some examples of what to do. I need a specific routine. I'd appreciate any input of what I can be doing until those workout tapes ever get here. My sis checked on them today and they said their records show that they are still "being processed"....meaning we should have them in the next 2 weeks. My account was debited on the 30th of April and we did it that way rather than mailing the check because it was supposed to guarantee getting them in 10-12 days!!!

I'm too full tonite. Ordered hubby a steak and grilled chicken salad for me, but then of course I just had to share some of his steak. Also had to have a few bites of his peach cobbler. I guess overall it wasnt too bad since the only other thing I had today at all was cereal at 9 a.m. but I'm still way too full.

I did walk 3 miles at 7:30 a.m. this morning and around 5:00 this afternoon, I went to my sister's house and did a few floor exercises. ( what we could think of ) We really do need some input on some things to do to vary from our walking.

    It's almost the weekend....yeah!!

    Miki
  • Good Morning Ladies
Whoooooohoooooooooo its Friday and its a holiday for Canadians on monday...Happy Victoria Day everyone!

I played badminton last night for about an hour...boy is that every fun.

I haven't been very good with the eating..not that I am eating bad food...just too much of it...this past week..my average intake has been 1700 calories and about 50 grams of fat! So I will focus on bringing that down..I just have to cut out one thing...full fat soda...I've been having a can a day this past week. Also, I've been having more cheese than usual...and just a couple of ounces puts me over 1500 cals and 50 grams of fat in a wink!

Hey Deana...congrats on acheiving another pound of weight loss...I am so proud of you...keep going...pretty soon...you will be down to 180, then 170 and so on ..until you reach a weight you want.

Miki...here are some exercise I do on a regular basis is lower back exercises, abdominal and arm exercises. For proper technique..visit this site http://www.netfit.co.uk/wkmen.htm its pretty good and they have workouts suited for everybody.

Debee..its hard to say no to your hubby especially when he has been away...so kick yourself for it...just keep going! and no more pizza for you young lady.

    Lisa...how's your bum

hey Reina...keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Lady .... I know you are doing well...so tell how well...keep us posted.

As usual..I am at work so I gotta get back to it...later ladies and have a wonderful weekend

    Cyan aka Mariette
  • Hi,

Ok today is my weigh -in and I am up two pounds to 128. I know that I really over ate this week and did not do eveery thing I wanted to on my list. I really would like to lose these last ten pounds and just not gain more...maybe I have to go on a diet for a week to jump start myself. I'm pressed for time so I will write more after the weekend and maybe try weighing myself on Monday again...I 'll still keep my Friday weigh in but will see what the scale says on Monday.
