Well the snow is almost gone! We ended up getting about 5 inches. The sun was out all day & it was about 36 degrees so most of it melted. So...back to School tomorrow and we have no more snow days left.
I didn't do a lot today. After cleaning Mom's house & my house all weekend, I decided to rest and watch TV. I did make some more "Welcome Signs" for our site too!
(Hey..the PRES. was here in Nashville today!)
Debbie,
It was good to talk to you today and play catch-up! I have really missed seeing you. Remember tomorrow we are BACK to working out at Curves and back OP!! We have to get these BODS looking good for Florida in June!!!!!!!!!
Dee,
Gayle is right....We are going to have to ride you for awhile over your boo-boo!! LOL!! Thanks for the laugh...I NEEDED that!!!
I think I want your hubby!! He's romantic, helps around the house and wines & dines! Also..he plans surprises for you!!
Gayle,
Hey...Wayne is low maintenence too!! Give him a bowl of beans & cornbread and he's happy!!! LOL!! I've been meaning to tell you something! Can you believe that I have NEVER tasted WINE!!!?? Maybe I need to come to KS!!!
Donna,
I hope that everything goes great on the refinancing! Good luck and hope that your future looks wonderful!!! I joined Curves in Jan. I didn't get to go but maybe 4 times since I joined. With the snow we've had,the spell I had being depressed and with Wayne being sick, the time wasn't on my side.Debbie & I will start tomorrow and back OP too!! I really like it and it's something that I can afford.
Ramona,
Wayne sure knows how to work that remote too!! He can't work on shoes but he can fix a car! That's it! Off work, come home and lay on couch with remote in hand! LOL!! BTW: On a serious note: I'm still saying a prayer for your Sons!!
Dee (Titan Card Fan),
Did you get to go to the funeral home today? I still can't get it out of my mind. Please know that I'm thinking of the family. Please keep in touch...We're here for you!
Lisa,
YOU'RE A HERO!!!!!!!!! You were so great for saving that little boy that was choking!! I bet the Parents were so grateful!! Since you live in a small town, it may be in the paper!! You're an ANGEL!
Shelley,
What a great idea you gave!! With so much worry, praying and saddness going around, We need to tell something happy!!! I guess what made me happy today was being off work (with pay!) and being able to REST!! I sure needed a day to do NOTHING!!
Jennelle,
Have you lost more weight? Are you still doing BFL? Also, I meant to ask you on last post, Is your School going better now then how it started out?
Vicki,
Well it sounds like by the news that ya'll got more snow then we did in KY?! Hey, dont get too busy with all your projects to post!! I would love to have chat again soon!! It's so much fun!! When is a good night for you?
Jeanne...............Doni.................Carol,
Hope you are all ok!! I'm running out of time! I need to take my shower, wash dishes and iron for work tommorrow! Take care!!
Sherry - Thanks for asking! School is going a bit better. The most exciting thing was doing my mid-year review of my students' reading levels. I found out that my AM class raised their reading level by an average of 1.65 grade levels and my PM class raised theirs an average of 1.63 grade levels. That's in SIX MONTHS!
Jennelle: Great job on your mid-year review!!!!! It really says something about the way that you teach!!!!!!! You should be proud of yourself!!!!
Sher-bear: No drop of wine has ever passed your lips???? Come to Kansas and I bet you will be dancing on the tables in no time!!!! Seriously, if you want to taste it, go light...start with a very weak fruit flavor with low alcohol content. Perhaps a Boonsfarm brand or a white zin. I prefer a white semi sweet and a fruiter wine, I love a sparkling wine!!! Steve likes red and dry, to much for me!!!! One sip and I can no longer feel my throat!
Shelley: Sorry I didn't post this earlier! What made me happy today: I made it to my early Monday morning meeting , I finished the newsletter in one sitting and the weather was nice today.
I forgot to post something happy yesterday. Our tax refund came in, we needed it badly!! Also, I heard that a couple of teachers at school told a friend of mine that I am the hardest worker in the office. That makes me feel good about myself.
Jennelle-You should be so proud of yourself!! Raising the kid's reading levels is a wonderful feat!!!
Sherry and Debbie-My SIL and BIL came down here from Tn. because they couldn't handle the cold. They are going to move back to Fl. Do you want to buy their home? They are on 60 acres and have a beautiful house. I think they want about $800,000.00 for it!! Just a drop in the bucket!! It might be awhile before they sell it.
LOL Dee too cute!!!! I'm still waiting for my co-worker to get back to me. He told me he'd wander on back to our little corner of the world on his lunch hour.
Sherry, I remember you saying something about the Richard Simmons Diet/deal a meal........... did you find what you were looking for? I have one at home I don't use. Would you like it? It's just sitting on my desk and I've got all the books that go with it too if you're interested.
Now the Hero thing..... I really am not a hero for doing my job. Thanks for all the compliments but that's what I went to school for and I was only doing what I was taught to do. Also, I've been educated through Native American Grants, which are federal monies. So with the exception of our Canadian Floozies, really it was just everyone's tax dollars hard at work. But remember, LOL it's your tax dollars that pay my salary too, whether I'm on a call or sitting her typing away on the computer. LOL boy that sure puts things into perspective, doesn't it? Today is my last day until I come back on Saturday tho! Which is a good thing, I need some sleep.
Janelle! What a fantastic job you've done!! You truly are a hero for working with children. I've spent the afternoon in my youngest daughters kindegarten class and let me tell you, that teacher is one special lady! All teachers are special people. There's absolutely no way I could ever do that! Those kids wear me out!
I'm back and thank you all for your comments. I ended up not going to the funeral this morning. We had gotten just enough snow overnight that I wasn't sure how the interstate would be. I will try to go back to the fund raiser they are having for the family in March. There was one bit of "good" news last night. Drew (the 8 year) is doing so well that his mom thinks he will be home from the hospital in a few days.
Sherry: I'll have to stop in Clarksville the next time I come down and bring a bottle of wine. Then you can come over and have a glass with me.
But lets not be too rough on Sherry. My former manager took her 3 "teenage" grandsons to Nashville last year for spring break. She said she went to a grocery store Sunday to stock up on things for the boys to eat in their motel room. They were going to be there a week so she thought it would be nice to have a bottle of wine so she could have a "quiet" (with 3 boys) drink each evening when they returned to the motel. She asked the clerk where she could buy it, and his reply was this is the bible belt. She never did go find her wine.
I received this from my friend in Indy (a Colts fan)
Read, laugh, and share with your friends:
1. If you love something, set it free. If it comes back,it will always be yours. If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with. But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free ... You either married it or gave birth to it.
2. Reason to smile: Every 7 minutes of every day, someone in an aerobics class pulls a hamstring.
3. They keep telling us to get in touch with our bodies. Mine isn't all that communicative but I heard from it the other day after I said, "Body, how'd you like to go to the six o'clock class in vigorous toning?" Clear as a bell my body said, "Listen fatty ... do it and die."
4. My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.
5. The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
6. The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing, someone else always does.
7. Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.
8. Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks two sizes!
9. Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness.
10. I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day.
Okay ladies!!! Where is everybody that was on the exercise thread???? It's just been me and Dee for the past few days. This is a friendly kick in the butt for those of you who are usually there!!!!

Vicki.....You can have rest of the snow up there, I've had enough for one winter.
Lisa...Loved your "Excuses for Men" , I've even heard a few of them myself. Anytime someone saves a life or makes someone life easlier...they are a hero in my book. WTG!!!
Jennelle......WTG....on your mid-year review. Are you still thinking of changing grades next year? I would love to change back to the little kids again, middle school is getting to me.
Dee {Titan Fan} Next time you are in Clarkville, give me a yoller. I'm about 20 miles from there. We can taste some wine together...LOL.
Shelley....WOW, that must be some house. It's sure not on my side of town. LOL. I've been planning on re-joining the walking thread..AGAIN!! but I'm such a failure!! I should write a little poem...Debbie 10 excuses for NOT walking!!!!
Gayle.....I've been thinking about the {hubby} thing. Guess I'll just keep James, he cleans, cooks, grocery shops, does all the yard work, and has even been known to surprise me once or twice!! Guess he's a keeper too!
Ramona....Your boys have been on my mind a lot has the talk of war gets closer. I pray they will be kept save!!! I also pray for our country and President Bush.
Love to all my floozie friends...Doni, Jeanne, Donna, and Carol....Take care...Hope you are doing alright!!
