Valentine poetry

Sherry thank you for cheering up the board! On top of all the work you do you still have time to find all kind of neat stuff for us. And you make the world best signs!

Love Poems

Love may be beautiful, Love may be bliss
But I only slept with you, because I was pissed

I thought that I could love no other
Until, that is, I met your brother

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty
and so is your head.

Of loving beauty you float with grace
If only you could hide your face

Kind, intelligent, loving and hot
This describes everything you are not

I want to feel your sweet embrace
But don't take that paper bag off of your face

I love your smile, your face, and your eyes-
Damn, I'm good at telling lies!

My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife:
Marrying you screwed up my life

I see your face when I am dreaming
That's why I always wake up screaming

My love you take my breath away
What have you stepped in to smell this way

My feelings for you no words can tell
Except for maybe "go to ****"

What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime

Lisa just wanted to let you know that I have had heart problems for 3 years. I had surgery 2 years ago but they were not able to fix my heart properly because it was to close to the valve. That is why I don't work for money....lol free lance work at home doing all the chores. Since then I have developed something else that they aren't sure of what it is exactly but my heart stops for a few seconds. I say it is all to do with the wiring of my heart. It shorts out when I sneeze or get to excited or do anything to strenuous. I have been managing ok. I just have to take it easy when the chest pain comes. Yes and I know that stress is a factor too. When I first started having chest pain I told the doc I had no stress well that sure changed shortly after that. Oh well life goes on and I never take a day for granted now. That is actually a blessing.

Well if you notice the time I am posting it is kinda late. I went to bed and sleep for awhile but can't sleep right now so I am doing laundry! Gee you think that I would rather be sleeping.....lol

Thank you everyone for the prayers.

Titan Dee sorry to hear such sad news. That is hardly believable because it is so sad.

Sherry you are far to fussy , you don't like the romantic food. I guess you could always try to feed each other veggies......lol Hey girl slow down, remember you were going to ask for some help around the house? You don't have to be super women!

Debbie and Sherry I guess you will get another snow day off today. I is still really cold here almost -40. Bbrrr

Gayle I am glad that you and Wayne are going out for dinner on v-day. That will be great for just the two of you. Bob Ross painting saturday.....wow that will be great. We will want to see your results when your done all your classes. That was a very nice gift.

Shelley when you talked about the women that said that you looked like you gainned weight, I wondered if she was heavy and she was just giving you a poke and rubbing it in so she could feel better. I think that was the case. Don't worry about it, just continue jogging and watching what you eat. Gee I wish I could be out there with you. I would follow behind you walking in your balmy weather.

Jeannie did you have a fun time at the animal refuge? Tell us about it , it sounded really neat. We don't have anything like that here. Do they only have reptiles? Tell me where on Mission Bay that you go camping. Last november Larry took me to there for our anniversary. What a lovely place. Great beaches. Much better weather than here. When we got home there was snow.

Vicki how many kids do you have in your home day care? I don't know if you remeber but that is what I use to do. I was licensed for 8 kids. I had special needs kids for a long time then I went to just before noon and after school.

Carol come back here and post. Wow 11 pounds lost, that is great. Let us support you here so we can help you lose more.

My goal for this week is to get back on program I have had a week of a eating frenzy. No more partying!

Well girls I know that I missed a few of you but you must forgive me I am tired and going back to bed.

Good Night

DEE

Gayle...........If you're going out with my hubby Wayne Friday night.....Does this mean that I get to go out with your hubby Steve????!!!

Bless Dee's heart! She was too sleepy to realize that she typed Wayne! LOL! What a hoot!!

Deelite 02-10-2003 09:40 AM

OMG that is so funny! Swapping partners for valentine's day. Sorry about that. Yeah I am up already. I got about 45 minutes sleep before I woke up again.
Well we are going to try to bear the cold. It is -45 with the windchill and they are advising not to go out. Yeah we are crazy we have to get out of the nut house so we are off.
Hope you all keep warm, send some of that heat this way.

Good Morning, Floozies!

Sorry I was MIA this weekend. We did a lot of running around & I didn't spend much time in my office. Feel like I'm chained to the computer all week long, sometimes I just need to get away from it! :)

So where's all this snow we're supposed to get?? Nothin' so far! Guess I shouldn't complain, huh. It did snow last Friday and I ended up "working" from home, which means I lazed around in front of the fire & read my book. Which means today I'm scrambling to actually DO some work so I have something to show my boss on Wednesday! LOL I told him I'd design a brochure spotlighting the different photographers that work for him and I am SO not in the mood to do this today. Guess that's what I get for procrastinating!

Sherry: How are you feeling? Did you start Curves today? Let me know how you like it. They opened one here in my town and I've been curious about it. Hey, send some of that snow up this way, ok? And while, your in cleaning mode, my house looks like a bomb hit it. :) And happy almost anniversary! Hope you get to do something really special on V-day. Lets, see, she hates whipped cream, cherries . . hmmmmmmmmmm . . . how about chocolate???!!! :) Thanks for the Valentine ideas . . . although the thought of me in a tiny black thong might be more appropriate for April Fools Day than Valentines!!!

Gayle: Sorry about that link - it worked when I first looked at it, and now it doesn't. Maybe something's wrong on their end - I'll have to check it out. Yes, I have seen those customized candy bar wrappers - they are cool - I LOVE your "It's a wrap!" name. How are things going with your donation drive? So you & hubby brew beer and wine? Is it a business or just a hobby? Sounds so interesting! I love the idea of the "pear" wine - I'm a real fan of sweet, fruity wines. Have fun at the painting workshop - that sounds really cool. You have so many interesting hobbies!

Titan Fan Dee - Sorry to hear about your dentist woes. It is so hard to find one that you're comfortable with, I know. My dentist retired and I had a horrible time finding one that I liked. Ended up that I go to my hubby's dentist, who's down in South Jersey, where hubby's originally from. I don't mind though, because we always end up going out to eat by the ocean after our appts. :)
I am so very sorry to hear about your son's former girlfriend - what a horrific story. I'm just speechless!! My thoughts and prayers with with you and the people involved.

Dee: How are you feeling? I'm sure all the stress you are under is affecting your heart. Please try to take some time for you through all this. I love your "romantic dinner" night. Jim & I try to have "date night" every Thursday, even if it's just a trip to the diner or a nice dinner at home. I think it's so important to keep that connection so that you don't forget why you're with that person in the first place!
I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's friend - it's just incomprehensible - what a horrible thing. I can only imagine how it brings back painful memories for you. Thank God Dez is doing better - I'm sure having you & Larry as parents helped her get through it all. And your poor friend Jackie - my prayers are with her. It really does put things in perspective about living each day to the fullest - you just never know. By the way, I was ROFL when I read the Love Poems! Thanks for the laugh!

Ramona: My thoughts are with your son Dan - I'm sure it is so nerve-wracking for you. You must be so proud of both of them.

Shelley: Please, please don't listen to people's comments - when they say things like that, it's usually more about how they're feeling about THEMSELVES and not about you at all. You are beautiful - don't give it another thought! That's an order! ;) When you said you're in remission from UC, did you mean Ulcerative Colitis? If so, I can relate - I have the same disease and have luckily been in remission for some time now.

Debbie: How do you like Curves?

Jennelle: Isn't it great to get the "have you lost weight" question? Much better than what poor Shelley had to hear!

Jeanne: I'm so sorry about your friend! I can't believe the rash of sad news lately. I hope she gets some good news on Wednesday. Hope you have a wonderful time in San Diego. Hubby & I are going away to Newport RI the weekend of the 22nd to relax a bit. Then we found out Friday that he a meeting at Yankee Candle in Massachussetts the Tuesday before that (he's a perfumer and made the Mistletoe and Blueberry Muffin fragrances for them!) So now we have two long drives in one week. But I really don't mind, we'll make the best of it.

Ok, Shelley said we have to post something happy . . . hmmmm, let's see . . . on a personal level, we are in the midst of refinancing and hopefully that will ease our money woes. On a broader note, I'm happy (and thankful) to have found this thread full of such wonderful people. I can see the love and support here and feel very lucky that you've welcomed me here.

Well, enough procrastinating . . . somebody kick me in the butt here so I get some work done!!!

Have a wonderful day!

:) Donna

gdeann 02-10-2003 11:53 AM

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! ALMOST 4 YEARS ON HERE AND I JUST REALIZED THAT IT'S A "SWINGERS" THREAD!!!!!!

Sher: Pack Wayne up and ship him this way...I will try to find a box later to put Steve into....I'll need to remember to poke air holes into it!!!! He is usually pretty low maintenence, how about Wayne? This is a hoot!!!!

gdeann 02-10-2003 01:07 PM

Donna: Steve & I each do the brewing and fermenting thing, just for fun, not profit. Steve brews 5 gallons of beer at a time. I usually do 6 gallons of wine at a time. Dee and hubby in Canada also do the wine. I am getting ready to bottle some white zin this week, I should get about 28 full size wine bottles out of the batch.
I have 6 people not including myself on my committee, I have had 2 meetings and sent out countless emails, only to have no one show or reply back. So the rounding up donations is going so-so. Not to bad but not great either, I can't put all of my heart into it when it seems like no one else is really concerned. Well, enough of my whining......did someone say wine? Hic*

Dee: So funny about the name boo-boo, Sher and I may make you suffer a bit on this one!
Actually, I signed up for the class in November, so then I saved some Christmas gift money to take care of the cost of the class. So this is a gift to myself.
I liked your Valentine messages. we had a fellow member share some during our meeting this A.M.

Lisa: How's your class going? Do you usually try to attend class the same days and nights that you are on shift? How many hours do you work per shift?

Carol: GREAT JOB ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!!!!! the only thing that would make it better is for you to come back and join us!

Shelley: Are you counting points again?

Jennelle: Please check in!!! How's BFL???

Deb: When's the B-day??????? We need to know so we can throw you a party!

Doni: I hope life is fine for you! Holler when you get a free minute!

Vickster: Do you want to trade hubby too???? The offer is for hubbies only...no mother in-laws!!!!!!

Titan Dee: So sad about your story. It is so unbelievable...besides the kids, I feel so sorry for the parents. I can think of no greater loss then the death of your child.

Ramona: How are you today? We miss your sunny messages!

Well, better go...I am to be working on the club newsletter today and preparing for a meeting tonight. I hope you all have a great day!!!!!!

Gayle

Dee has the doctor ever reccomended an internal defibulator? It almost sounds like your heart goes into v-fib. While they're not as common as pace makers, they're still pretty common these days, take it easy and send me some wine soon! We have friends who brew their own wine and wowie!! Is it ever tasty but I have to watch out because I usually get a little tipsy drinking it. It's a bit more potent than regular wine you buy at a store but tastes so much better.

Oh my goodness what an idea! Let's all throw our husbands in a pile and then pick a different one for valentines day! Jimmy can cook and do the dishes. Although putting them into the dishwasher is hard for him (don't ask! he just doesn't know how to "place" them  )He just does them by hand which is fine by me, they get done regardless.

Gayle school is going fine. Yes I do try to schedule myself to work when class is in session, because that way I get paid to be there! And last Thursday night, my crew was the first to have to leave because we got a call. Now if I'm working, someone else will go in my place during class. The instructor doesn't want us to miss a bunch because it's a very short class and a lot of information has to be learned in very little time. We did get back in time to practice starting an IV and I was successful! it was on a "dummy" hand. We start practicing on each other next week! whooboy is that a scary thought sometimes lol.

Ok, now for my attaboy. I was in the grocery store today and just happened to look over at a commotion. It was a little boy choking. His father was going to do the Heimlich on him and I said "Don't do that" He was too small. I walked over to dad and took the little guy out of his hands, tipped him upside down sort of and gave him a good whack. The piece of hard candy came flying out! Boy what a good thing to hear when he started to wail and cry! The candy was lodged good in his throat, as when I took him I could hear him trying to move air and he was successful. Poor thing, to have some strange woman come and take him away from daddy and whack him! His mom and dad were dazed but all was well! I was so happy. Ours is a small town and of course two neighbors were there to see it LOL. So we had to re-hash it all.

Ok time for me to get supper started, I work tonight.

Lisa

Wow, we have a hero in our midst!!!!!! WAY TO GO LISA!!!!!

To everyone with hardships and friends going through times of sickness and tragedy: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God Bless.

Now, as far as Lisa's idea of throwing the husbands in a pile and picking one.......anyone who wants mine can have him free of charge. I don't even want one in exchange! LOL Mine is very adept at using the remote control and the lever which engages the foot rest on the Laz-e-boy! (In case you can't tell, I'm not too crazy about him right now, lol) Of course, if any of you need your shoes fixed, then he's your man!!!!

Deelite 02-10-2003 05:31 PM

Lisa way to go! You were at the right place at the right time.Could you tell me more about the v-fibualtor? Not sure if we have them in canada. I know there was mention of a pace maker but they want to wait til I am older. I think that all my problems with my heart stem from the electrical. I have super ventricular tachi cardia and now I think my heart is just shorting out sometimes.
I am not sure if I want to throw my hubby in the pile. He is good for everything and he spoils me rotten. He likes romance and travel. He can bbq and cook fine dining dinners. Well what the heck I will through him in but I decided I would rather not pick one they are to much work.
Donna it is really great that you and Jim( do I have the right hubby?) lol have a date night. I believe that it keeps the fire burning.
Ramona good to hear from you.
Gayle always up to mischieviousness........knotty knotty!
Sherry and Debbie did you have a snow day today. It is so cold here.
Well I have a roast chicken in the oven that needs tending to and potatoes to peel so I better get going.

lisavemt 02-10-2003 06:05 PM

Well Dee, I did some quick searching on WebMd, I don't know if what I was talking about is what you have altho I suspect it may not be, but I could be wrong so you may want to talk to your doctor after I tell you what I know.

You say you have SVT which is super ventricular tachycardia. That means your heart rate races to more than 100 beats per minute. It also means that it starts in one part of your heart. There is surgery for it from what I read called ablation, which works with that part of the heart that makes your heart race.

But what I was wondering was if your heart goes into v-fib, ventricular fibulation, which means that your heart does beat per-say, it just kinda quivers. When that happens to a patient and an electrical shock is applied to the heart, then the heart is "tricked" into going back into a normal beat. I didn't do too thorough a search on internal de-fibs. I was going to talk to one of my co-workers tomorrow. He's a doctor and will be able to answer my questions better than any internet search I could do. I do know that it is not a pace maker. A pace maker has wires inserted into the heart and regulates the heart beat ( my dad may get one) An internal de-fib only works when the heart goes into v-fib. Does that clear things up for you a bit? I will get the info on the internal de-fibs tomorrow, I promise. This doctor works with me and coaches my daughters basketball team, I have to see him lol I have to give him money so my oldest can have supper at their game, LOL.

Please let me know if this helps at all. I'll be checking back in later. I'm going to go and work out for a while. I have a new book on CD to listen to.

Deelite 02-10-2003 07:32 PM

Lisa I had the operation but my svt was to close to the atrial valve, so they burned what they could. my heart use to beat over 200, usually 240. It would race for 1-2 hours. Since the surgery it only races for a few minutes and not daily. But now it stops for about 5 seconds or so. I lose my breath and feel dizzy. Sneezing can provoke it or any kind of excitement. I sill have chest pain to but I know that isn't related to the svt. It is from stress or exersion. If I lift somethng over 10 pounds or do something to quickly.
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

DEE
