SHERRY I got you card! I guess it slipped by the postman. It is beautiful, you put a lot of work into it. You girls put me to shame, I only make my on the computer. I am glad that you will be seeing the dr tomorrow. I was going to jump on your back today about it. Sure is a lot of sick children in your school. Watch that you don't get it. Oh yeah about your little rich friend here.......I shop at Salvation Army and garage sales all the tome. I just love it.

Donna how is your 5 year old doing now? I heard that this virus linger a long time.

Debbie your grandbaby is so beautiful. Jacob looks so alert and older than 4 months in his picture.

Gayle....so why is it you want a coconut bra? Gecko Mama was missing in action. She and Papa are sick. Dispite being sick Gecko Mama left for pv again yesterday. Your posnd sounds like a great idea. Make sure you post pictures when you are done.

Ramona have you made a decision about your house? I know that it has to be hard trying to decide.

Shelley we are waiting for your mil story. It is about time she gets it back. You have put up with a lot from her.

Dee I watched the Columbia Mamorial too. It was so sad. How unfortunate that something like this happenned.

Well I am off to get some of my supper prepared. Trying to make it a little special since it is Larry's and my 25 th anniversary for the first day we met. Any thing to celebrate we celebrate.

Have a good one!

DEe

Dee, I'm so jealous!!!!! You and Larry always make occasions so special. I can't believe all the things he did for your party! And, celebrating the anniversary of the day you met........WOW!!
I didn't even get a CARD for my 24th last month!

It looks like we may not be moving after all. We talked it over with my dad and he doesn't like the idea of me being out there by myself late at night when Rick works late. Also, it would mean us moving away from Mom and Dad. With their health the way it is, it probably isn't a very good idea. Soooooooo, I guess we will just carry on the American tradition of being in debt up to our eyelids! LOL This has really stressed us out. We are hardly speaking to each other and business has been really slow this week. That always adds to the anxiety. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Take care everyone,
Ramona

Hi everybody!

Yes, I'm still here (I don't scare that easy!). I guess I feel guilty because I haven't been following any kind of food plan. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do and then I put it off because some social event or another is looming. I could put this off until the end of the year at this rate! Working out has been kind of irregular too because I wrecked my back. However, I am now re-commiting before all of you to get right back on track!!!

Thank you for all the kind messages about my friend. The service on Saturday was difficult but also was a wonderful celebration of her life and the people she knew. The chapel was overflowing and many people shared their experiences as Lauren's friend or relative. She touched many lives. I just feel so sad about her daughter (only 9 years old).

Welcome Donna, I look forward to getting to know you. This is a very close knit group and although I have only been posting for a short period of time, I feel like a part of a unique community.

Take care everyone!

ShelleyM 02-05-2003 05:49 PM

Dee-Your party sounds like it was wonderful!! Your husband sounds like a keeper!! He always does such nice things for you.

I don't even remember what I said to my MIL!! I was shaking at the time, and my DH was standing next to me with tears in his eyes. The only thing I specifically remember saying is when she said "if you lose everything, you can always come and live with me, " I said OH yea, right!!! Threw my keys on the car seat and got in the car with my daughters. They said they could hear me yelling at her when I was having it out. I haven't spoken to her since, but my SIL and BIL are in town and didn't even know about it!!! She didn't tell them---she probably doesn't want anyone to know. I still hate her!!! I'm sorry to be so awful. Must be because I'm PMSing!!!

Need to go---can't address everyone, but I love you all!

Titan Card Fan 02-05-2003 09:34 PM

Hi everyone again.

Welcome Donna. You'll learn to love these gals. I had drifted away and when I came back, I still felt as I fit right in.

Shelley, you're MIL sounds like one of my friend's MIL. She doesn't live in Illinois, does she? When Penny's daughter got married, Penny asked (begged) me to go and help support her. I really didn't know what I was walking into. Anyhow, at the reception, Penny's aunt came and introduced herself and asked who I was, thinking I may be part of the groom's family. I explained that I worked with Penny. Then figuring how that I really didn't know anyone, she took me to meet the rest of the family which was great. That included Penny's MIL. The next day Penny's mother asked her who I was. She had asked Penny's MIL who told her she had no idea. She knew something that the mother didn't and wasn't about to let her in on it. What neither of them knew (and I did) was the reason for the hurry-up wedding!

Tomorrow is my "annual" dental appointment. Well, by the time they got my appointment right, that's what it took; and I dare them to say one word about it. I really don't like this group, but it's the only one that would take new patients and our dental insurance. I had one that was wonderful (and also on the plan) but he left the area, and they replaced him with some joker that didn't introduce himself, spoke almost no English; and that was after the best hygienist I had ever had left too.

After that I need to run a bunch of errands on the west side of town. They are predicting snow again and I'm sure hoping they are wrong. You'd think by now these drivers would remember how to drive in winter, but they still seem to be brain-dead.

Sherry: did you get some relief at the doctor's office? Yes, retirement is wonderful, and will be even better when I start getting paid for it. I did get something in the mail today, but that was only a notice; and will probably mean a trip to the retirement office tomorrow. Some of the figures don't match. I guess with 11,000 people retiring, it can't be that smooth.

Debbie: what a little doll? Do you get to spoil him often? Best part of being grandma.

gdeann 02-06-2003 09:50 AM

Good Thursday morning group!!!!!!!

So nice to get on the board this am and find so many postings!!!

Sher-bear: How did the doc visit go?????? Sorry that your feeling down...remember that you have friends here that love ya!!!!!

Deb: You have one of the cutest grandsons in the whole wide world!!!!! Such a charmer!!!!!

Shelley: Way to go telling MIL off!!!!!! You sound like me, I can get so mad that I shake all over, fight tears back and run my mouth...later to never remember what I said. Luckily, I have only did that a few times in my life and each person on the other end was very deserving of it!

Jeanne: Don't feel bad about coming here when you are not 100% on plan.....shoot, I believe that I have ate a twinkie or two in the middle of reading messages before!

Lisa: I hope the little one is feeling better and school is going well. How's the dieting and exercise going?

Donna: Did we run ya' off? HOPE NOT!

Dee: Ah yes, the coconut bra....... :-) jury duty is not until the 27th, they postponed it...........yipppeeeeee.........

Dee#2: Good luck at the dentist!!!!! It's horrible when you finally get someone that you like and trust only to have them move on and be replaced. Hopefully you can find another doctor soon. GOOD LUCK on getting all of the retirement paperwork straightened out.

Ramona: I live next door to my Mother too. We have had several opportunities to relocate with Steves job, but we really can't right now. My Mother is 76 and age is catching up with her. Steves Father is in very poor health, so we will do our part as children and make sure that we can be there to take care of our parents.
BTW: We have several brothers and sisters between us, but it seems like they never have the time to help out with small chores, odd jobs etc. :-)

Jennelle: How's BFL going???? Is it about time for you to measure?

Doni: How's life? Did you guys get over your sickness?

Well, life is grand here. Working on the pond and thank you ladies for the nice complements about my talent. What you guys call talent, I call stupidity! It's going to take alot of work, but it should be decent looking when finished. When we get it done, which probably won't be until spring, I will post some picks. I have been spending much of my free time doing pond research on the web.
I spoke with the coordinater for Hospice. I need to attend an inservice next week and get a TB test. Usually they assign you one patient and family, but we are talking about possibly getting it set up where I can go in and do facials, hair cuts, sets, manicures for any patient with the need or desire. I will let you know how it all plays out.
I also start this coming Monday, taking care of a 6 month old baby. YEEKS!!!! Hope I remember how!

Well, better get this big ol' butt in gear today!

Morning girls:cb:

Snow Day... but NO SNOW!!! They called school off this morning but we have no snow yet. I think they are a little gun-shy since Jan 16th was such a mess. Why am I complaining, it's a day off with pay. :D

Donna......I read your Bio, you are a girl with many talents. Sounds like you keep yourself busy. I look forward to getting to know you.

Dee.....I loved all your pictures of your birthday party. Thanks for sending them to me. You and Larry make a great looking couple, and he's such a sweetie to you.

Gayle.....You are so funny with your twinkie while you read the posts. LOL I think I've been there and done that too.

Sherry.....Yipppeeee!! Looks like you got your wish. SNOW DAY!!! :o Whatever the reason, I'm glad we are off. Wish we lived closer to each other so we could watch old movies and talk all day. :D

Ramona.....I know you are glad the decision is made. Hopefully something esle will work out to relief some of the stress in your life.

Titan Dee....I know you will be glad when those retirement funds start coming in. Hope you got all your errands ran and back home before the snow hits.

I hope everyone has a great day. I will post more later, I've got all day...LOL.

Love ya Debbie

IT'S SNOWING!!!!!! This probably isn't a big deal to most of you, but we sometimes go 7 or 8 years between snows. They were calling for 1 inch and so far we have 5 and it is still coming down. It is really beautiful, especially on the mountain where we live. It isn't on the streets at all, so I had to come to work....BOOOOO!

Have a good one,
Ramona

mzbhavin 02-06-2003 12:35 PM

Well worn out and going to take a quick nap...Oh plus still doing daycare....

Vicki

Well I thought I'd come and catch up on the posts because I work tonight AND have class! Watch we'll be the first crew who gets an ambulance call while class is in session! Tonight we start "sticking" altho we don't get to practice on each other YET (that's next week). Tonight we get to use the "dummy" hands.... I have volunteered my husband tho............ He doesn't seem to be open to the idea tho, I just don't know why????? :D

Gayle thanks for that about Mary (5yo) she didn't eat until Sunday night or so, but the it was Look out........ the kids eating again! She's back to her bouncy self! She tires me out sometimes! I should have had her first! Also that's so cool about what you're doing for Hospice. We need someone like you here in our neck of the woods in Wisconsin to do that! Any time you feel a road trip coming.............

Ramona, want some more snow? We didn't get any until last week and now we have close to a foot. It snowed another 2 inches last night and I got to drive home in it at 1:00 am. Yay

Shelly, it's great that you stood up for yourself! I know I've done it a few times myself where the MIL is involved. There was a time when we lived in Indiana and she was next door to us. She thought it was ok to just come over any time and walk right in. I put a stop to that QUICKLY!

Donna............:balloons: WELCOME

Ok now on to some really awesome news......... My mom has been battling breast cancer, she finished her chemo two weeks ago and saw her oncologist today........... WOOHOO good news! (excuse me while I do my dance of happiness :hyper: ) She will not lose her breast or lymph glands. She's got some microscopic cells which will be removed with a lumpectomy. That's it nothing else! When she was diagnosed a bit back she was told that it was at stage 3 which isn't the best news. We thought she'd at least lose her breast and or really the lymph glands, but no! WOW !! her oncologist really is something else. She told him that he handed her a miracle today. I kinda think that man is an angel in a doctor's coat. As soon as I finish here, I'm sending him a thank you card.

Ok ladies I need to finish making supper so I can go in early to work out.......... Yep I'm still OP. I think some of it has to do with my new palm pilot my DH gave me for x-mas. I'm really keeping track of my journaling. Also when your boss tells you he'll see you in the gym you don't want to let him down so I'm exercising well too.

Sherry 02-06-2003 02:19 PM

We still need BIO'S from:

Vicki
Jennelle
Carol
Doni

Thanks!!! :D

Sherry 02-06-2003 02:31 PM

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please Go To #88..................A New Thread Has Been Started!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Tinfoil Rose 02-06-2003 05:09 PM

Hello, Floozies!

Finally a real post! Took me awhile to get on board, but I'm here! Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome!

Gayle: How is your pond coming along? I love outdoor ponds - we don't have any level property, so I make do with a half-whiskey barrel w/water plants and some goldfish. My dad is a "water garden aficionado" and recommends this site: http://www.indstate.edu/wvwgs/Society/Pages/Howto.html. Lots of general information on there.

Tinfoil Rose Design is the name of my business (and Tinfoil Rose Studio is hubby's). My hubby gave me a rose made out of tinfoil when we were first going out, and hence the name! :)

Debbie: Hope all went well with your Dr. appt.

Dee: HAPPY BELATED 40th!! Sounds like you had a wonderful party (and have a wonderful hubby, to boot!) By the way, are you a writer? I loved your story of the party - I felt like I was there! You have a great way with words.

"Titan" Dee: I'm so sorry to hear about your co-worker - what a shock that must have been. And how wonderful of you to take such good care of him in his last moments.
What classes are you taking in school?

Sherry: How did you make out at the Dr.? Sorry to hear about the depression. I hope the Dr. was able to help. I too suffer from occasional depression/anxiety. I had trouble with Paxil, but a few years ago I was on Zoloft which really helped. I only took it for a few months, but it did the trick.

Lisa: How's your little one feeling?

Argh!! I know I have a ton more catching up to do, but I've got to get dinner started. I'll try to get back later.

In closing, I'd like to add a little thought for the day - I love this quote from Mother Theresa:
"When I am hungry, give me someone that I can feed.
And when I am thirsty, give me someone who needs a drink.
When I'm cold, give me someone to keep warm.
And when I grieve, give me someone to console."

:) Donna
