Back To Kindergarten #96

  • Hello and to the Back In Kindergarten thread!

"I feel like I am back in kindergarten in many ways... personal, sometimes at work and now with the weight loss. I have done so many things wrong over the years.....emotional eating, pills for weight loss, eating the wrong things, failed diets, etc.
Now it's time to start fresh, kinda like back in kindergarten......"

  • Welcome Back

I hope everybody is doing well.

  • I follow wherever you want to go...will be posting both spots..
  • Quote: I follow wherever you want to go...will be posting both spots..

    Aw you're so sweet Jules.
  • This thread speaks to me on soooooo many levels...

My mom had me when she was 17 and of course she didn't know to teach me proper nutrition. I grew up on government cheese and hamburger helper. Food was a comfort and a reward. Exercise consisted of laying out at the beach reading a book...There was no money for bikes or dance classes.

Now at 36, I am back to square one in almost every aspect of my life.

--Husband lost 1/2 of his income so we are relearning to budget.
--After not having to work for 7 yrs, now looking for work but no one wants to hire a Mom, even though I could manage and run their office Blind Folded and my hands tied behind my back.
--Finally learning the proper way to eat and exercise so that I can stop passing my bad habits on to my children

I'm not sure if this is what this thread is for but after a horrendous day at a job interview, that I did not get...this is how I feel...

P.S Sassy you have the BEST Goals I have ever seen!!
  • Hello and Shesha!

I grew up similar to you. My mom wasn't 17 when she had but but 21. She got married to my Father because well back then that was what you did. 9 yrs later they divorced and she pretty much raised me. We didn't have a lot of money either and I was left alone, A LOT. So food became my friend. It never talked back, it never left me, it was just there. lol.

Anywho fast forward to now, I'm 36, soon to be 37..........blah.........and overweight, very unhealthy, I should be the picture board for unhealthy. lol. So my husband and I both are trying to change that, together. I can sympathize with the income too. I lost my job over a year ago. We're doing ok, but it would be better of course if there were 2 incomes.

So that in a "nut"shell is me. ha.! Oh yes and I understand on a horrendous job interview and not getting it!

Thanks. What Goals are those? Maybe I'm lost........I haven't been on this site for a while now.......lol

  • A Great Message I think:

"An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there's a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It's anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego. The other is Good. It's joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth." The grandson thought about it and asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." ♥
  • I guess they aren't goals..the thing in the box under your image.."2Much/Still2Much/150"

WOW!!! We could have been sisters...
My parents were married also...7 yrs later they divorced. It was really very ugly. Dad turns out wasn't the nicest guy...put mom in hospital for a week. Never really talked to him after that.

My husband can eat a triple bacon cheeseburger everyday for a month and loose weight...He is supportive, but has NO idea what it is like. He wears a 33 for god's sake...that is the size of my thigh...

But he loves me and I love him even more for it...

    I love the quote...so good!!
  • Oh ok. lol. I think I stole that from another member actually! lol. Yeah we could have been sisters. My DH loses weight very easily, if he tries. Me on the other hand, its a different story! I have to work out non stop and eat like a frickin bird to lose a pound! Even my Dr said I'd have problems losing since I'm a Diabetic and am Insulin Resistant.

  • Well I guess this thread is dead. Ha I'm a poet and I know it! lol. So since its starting a new month, I'll just go ahead and close it out.
