Tess/Am - I ate a sugar-free fudgesicle myself last night. Great minds you know. :)
Anyway I have now pretty much completed Day #2 on the second "Good Weight Management Behavior Streak." It's gone well, too. So onward to tomorrow and Day #3. Let's keep thinking positive thoughts. |
Woot, there ye be, Friend JJJ2, forgot to post here for a day and happily I am absolutely still streakin' on Day 4 and havin' another Fudsicle.
Have to go do a work assignment tonight. Spent the day planning so that I will not overeat when I get home. Woot! Let's keep goin' ... |
Hi, Tess/Am - No fudgesickle for me tonight. But I've certainly been getting enough to eat though. :)
Day #3 has been a good one for me, now on to Day #4! Let's make tomorrow a good one. Woot! |
Boom! Kablammo! Kerrash!
No, not the UK storms yesterday but me falling spectacularly out of my streak. No point recounting what I ate and when, it was dire and disasterous. Today is Day 1 of No snacking. Daily walk. No dessert. Remember to take supplements. Cut portion size. Onward. |
Woot on ye, 14-dayers JJJ2 and Rosinate!
Hi to Silverbirch if she lurketh! Here's to Day 4 for JJJ2 and Day 1 fer Rosinate! These are good lists of goals ye folkettes have. Folkette known as Moi is also doin' well and am on Day 5 of at least TRYING to get a weekly average of 1600 and eating no Wally Triangle Donut. To be honest, the food is a little high but feel good that I am really getting it down a week at a time. |
Sliding gracefully to the end of Day 1.
|
Rosinante - Sliding and streaking - that's a winning pair-up for you. :)
Tess/Am - Avoid those dismal donuts if at all possible and enjoy your day #5. I'm on Day #4 and it is ending up well. Focus is the name of my personal game, and I keep thinking those positive thoughts. May we all continue to streak our way to VICTORY! Woot!!! :) |
Woot to Rosinate, sliding gracefully! Woot! That is great, Day 1 is always the most fun (of any challenge, methinks)! Congratulations!
Congrats also to JJJ2 on Day 4! I am with ye on the positive thoughts. I think they are a good idea. Was watching Wayne Dyer's Excuses Begone PBS program (for fund-raiser) for the zillioneth time. Really like it as he speaks of how we CAN change by changing our thoughts. I enjoy him! Had a so-so day 5, got all involved in changing out computers and doing things to software for my job, took all day, had a headache, will be good in the long run, though. Huzzah, on to day 6! |
Day 2 begins good and determined.
I had a small epiphany earlier this week: I was looking at a handbag on QVC, which I wanted, which was a good price (Today's Special Value), and which got as far as my online basket. It wouldn't have damaged my finances to buy it - but otoh I have big plans for another trip to London next year. So I deferred gratification, and removed it. I was Amazed at the buzz I got! from choosing the Better Option. Throughout the week, even on Thursday when the Binge Monster came to call, I was pondering why I couldn't/whether I could train myself to feel that kind of a buzz by deferring gratification in my diet - choose not to eat something for the sake of a longer term benefit. So that's what I did yesterday. I can't say the buzz was as good but I did have a little bit of smug, which I hope to build on today. |
I know what you mean, Rosinate. I work on that, too. Congratulations, you are doing great.
Have a good day! |
I am starting my count again tomorrow. DID have the Wally T Donut and enjoyed it, felt it helped me in numerous ways and that it is not my rule to start my challenges over but it is such a season of change for me that I want a new challenge. I will do another 14 day count with a different set of GWLBs (Good Weight Loss Behaviors), that I'll think up later.
I did this day bag work, was going to work all weekend and now think I need some wanderin' in the Hinterland time on my current favorite hobby, LOSING 10 POUNDS! Woot! I will be back to this thread with Day 1 tomorrow! |
Rosinante - I like your phrase - deferred gratification - and I think it is a very good choice of words for a weight-loss plan. Yes, putting off some gratification can pay off in the long run. I like the smug feeling too. :) Keep on streakin'.
Tess - Plans can be changed at any old time and wanderin' in the Hinterland can only be good for you. On to Day #1 for you tomorrow. I'm just completing Day #5 today, but will be restarting to Day #1 myself tomorrow, for the more mundane reason that it is easier for me to keep track of myself when I follow the weekly calendar which tells me that Sunday is the first day of the week, and therefore a #1 Day. :) So tomorrow will be Day #3 for Rosinante and Day #1 for JoJo and Tess. Woot! |
Lol, I am like that also, JJJ2! I like Sunday to be the first day of everything.
Speakin' o' which, this is my Day 1 of what is going to be a series of open-ended 14 day challenges de facto but I may do an ongoing count as GUESS WHAT? Lol, I gained another two pounds! Reframed everything. I essentially now am on the quest to relose 12 pounds (lol, thought it would be eight by today but the scale was evil and not in a good mood). Right now I am formulating goals for this 14 day period but I have set a date of December 4 for the 12 pounds to be gone. I actually want to lose a little more back to my lowest weight this decade again but let's just say 12 for now lol. I will do my count on this thread but it will be open ended and just acknowledging each two week period, if that makes sense. Since I have been aging backwards (like Merlin) lately, I am going to have shakes for lunch for a few days, maybe even (I KNOW this probably isn't healthy, have heard it, have said it, but want to do it) Slimfast. Now I do know they had a wee health problem awhile back (they paid me $4 from a class action suit just recently), but they have fixed it and to be honest, I lost the majority of my weight using Slimfast once a day occasionally. So anyhow, sing me no sad songs for the weight gain lol 'cause I can see by the data where it came from and we here in the Hinterlands just soldier on 'cause we ARE NOT GONNA GAIN ANY MORE WEIGHT! Still the Witch, Not the Hag! (STWNTH!) |
Rosinante - I hope your Day #3 is going well for you.
Tess/Am - Tweek whatever needs to be tweeked. Reformulating whatever needs to be reformulated is often necessary in our weight-loss travels and travails. Absolutely, positively and so forth. My personal Day #1 has gone fairly well. I find that having a Day #1 on a Sunday works for me. Let's keep doing the absolutely, positively best we can do. |
Thanks JJJ2!
Huzzah to Rosinate! My day 1 was fun (rhymes) as I enjoyed my little Slimfast experiment and also had a processed meal for supper, one of the new Lean Cuisine larger meals in steam pouches, mushroom tortelloni and vegetables. It was huge but only 280 cals and tasted fresh (almost, at least no box taste). On to Day 2! |
