Good Morning from SUNNY INDY!! Yep that is right, today 75, tomorrow 65, then Sunday 50, burrrr, 40's and 50's all next week. Look out scout, here comes W. T.G.I.F and it is 5 o'clock somewhere...CHEERS!!

Ok, brother's band "Six Figures" will be playing at Whiskey Business on January 15...that is plenty of time for you all to get your trips planned to Annie's house....can't wait to see you all...seriously...head on over, up, down, around....

Have to tell you a cute Hella B story. So this morning I decided she was be extra cute so I let her stick her head in her cookie (doggie biscuits) bag to pick her own cookie out. She sniffed around, picked up one, threw it back, sniffed some more, flipped them around and finally came out with JUST one cookie. All the while wagging her stubby tail a hundred miles an hour. How cute is that?

Shaddie...why don't we both make lists, and swap them out, I will come to your place and you come to mine, just for a change of scenery.

Laura...glad the foot is doing better and not as serious as it could of been. Don't computer whoa's just irk ya? Goodluck with getting that straightened out.

Hey to all the rest of ya's. I will check back later.

Love and hugs..

GOOD MORNING CHICKS.
I WOKE EARLY AND I AM GOING WITH WILLY TO THE SUPERMARKET. GOING TO SURPRISE JEN AND DO THE WEEKEND SHOPPING FOR BOTH OF US. BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I DID THAT. THERE'S ROOM ON THE BUS SO I CAME BACK TO GET MY COAT AND OUR LISTS.
HAPPY FRIDAY. SORRY THIS IS SHORT. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND :moped:

annie175 11-12-2010 09:29 AM

MELLIE...have fun shopping, do mine for me too!

zoochick777 11-12-2010 11:45 AM

Shad - The scholarships were absolutely wonderful. Quite a few of my friends had to keep 2 jobs while in school full time in order to pay for school. If my mom would have had to pay for my school, she would have done the same exact thing if I would have failed any classes. And about the snow, I agree that I would not want to live in it all the time. But I would love a few snow days every year. And the place on a hill near the sea would be an amazing place to live! Glad you’re getting lots of work done.

Michelle - I’m glad your training is over! I wish I had time to read. There are so many things I’d love to start, but just don’t have the time with because of my schoolwork.

Melody - Glad everything calmed down at work.

Annie - I heard that Wicked was really awesome! I wish I would have seen it when it was playing down here. Sorry about the St. Louis trip and I hope your GD doesn’t need surgery and has a quick healing. I have been very OP lately, but have still been lacking when it comes to exercise. Like you, I hate exercising. And I agree, my dress clothes are so much more comfortable to wear to work than my jeans are. Hope work gives you a good workout. What your dog did with her doggie biscuits sounds so adorable! The weather up there sounds similar to ours right now.

Laura - Sorry about the foot. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious. And I hope you get over the cold quickly.

Ceejay - Hope the sink gets fixed soon.

Happy -

As for me, I've been staying very on track with food until last night. I had some tater tots and ice cream that put me a good bit over on calories. Then I weigh in this morning expecting a gain, but instead was down to 181.4! I'm so glad the scale is moving down again. Now if only I can keep the trend going. Since it was Vets day yesterday and I work on a military base, school is closed today so I get a 3 day weekend. I'm planning on getting lots of exercise in this weekend since I can't get the motivation to stick with it during the week. I'll probably try to do some tae bo again when I get off the computer. Food today will probably not be so great again. I've been craving enchiladas from this place called Pupuseria Divino Corazon. I ate a very tiny breakfast, and will be having enchiladas with rice and beans for lunch, and probably a salad for dinner. I will have the house to myself this weekend since my parents and brother are going camping. I wish I could have gone also, but I'm looking forward to the quiet!

Laura705 11-12-2010 12:01 PM

Good Morning all. TGIF!!

Shad - Good idea with listing the tasks and when they were last done. BF and I have different opinions on when the trees were last pruned... LOL re DS2's job - like mother like son I guess - if there's a job to do, don't mess around or slack off, get it done! Too bad his work ethic is hitting him in the wallet. I took a day trip once from Phoenix to Sedona, but made several stops along the way (including Oak Creek Canyon and Jerome - a mining town), so I didn't get to see Sedona before I headed back. And bf owns property in NM, so it would be great to get back out that way and see the sights - except for the snakes and spiders.

Happy - Your mention of the snowsuit made me think about a woman I'd seen on my commute last winter who wears one of those retro snowmobiling suits - with heels! :lol3:

Annie - Everything about that trip sounds great except the likely weather, and even with that, it sounds very tempting!! Awww, that is a cute HB story!! I bet she's the type to have a bowl of kibble sitting around all day and occasionally take a nibble. Coal would snarf down the whole bag of treats given the opportunity, LOL.

Mel - Enjoy the shopping!

Michelle - What's the status with the bat in the basement???

Hellos to Ceejay, Kasey & LinsB!!

Nothing much to report. Sofa and tv and icing the foot yesterday. Today will be the same. The only good thing is I brought my lunch both days. Saving money there, but spending it on the bus. And yesterday after work I decided to bus it to the train station, but there's really more walking than bus because of where the stops are situated, so it wasn't worth it. Might take a taxi tonight, but we'll see how cheap I'm feeling. And I always feel uneasy getting into a taxi for a short ride because I think the taxi driver will get ticked because he hoped to get a better fare from someone going to the airport. Geez, why did I type all that? I'm boring myself - hope I didn't put any of you to sleep as well.

No plans this weekend, yippee. Tonight we're making a Filipino recipe called adobo chicken, but it's not spicy like you'd think. I'll also make some lentil soup this weekend. I'll post recipes if they turn out to be good!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Laura705 11-12-2010 12:12 PM

Kasey - you snuck in on me. And now you have me wanting Mexican food! Enjoy your enchiladas and having the house to yourself this weekend. Your long weekend. :)

annie175 11-12-2010 12:48 PM

Zoochickie.....mmmmmmm Mexican food, one of my favorites, well heck, food is one of my favorites, tis why I got in the mess in the first place. I have the house to myself 24/7, well except Hella B. Most times it is a good thing, other times I am too lonely and sad there by myself. Never tried tae bo but have heard great things about it. It sounds too much like exercise to me. lol

Laura...glad you are on the mend. Yes, a bowl of food will last HB from 7-10 days. She was up a pound at the vet this past Monday when I took her for her kennel cough vaccine. She weighed 18 lbs. I laughed at her and told her to get OP. lol Her normal weight is 16/17 lbs., about the amount I need to lose. hmmmmmmmm Go ahead and babble, I love reading it and knowing I am not the only one that babbles.

Shad...forgot to mention that I, too, have been to Oak Creek Canyon back in 1974, when I was 14 yrs old. Went on vacation with parents and brother. We went the southern route to Scottsdale, AZ then the northern route back to Indy. We went to the painted desert, petrified forrest, salt lands, Indian ruins which were very very interesting, Sunset Crater, Old Tombstone-which is the place the movie Tombstone was made-a very good movie btw. I was even in the Birdcage lounge on the stage where it was filmed, been to Grand Canyon too. Anything scenic throughout Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Blah blah blah...rambling. Sorry

Later my chickies,.

happy2bme 11-12-2010 01:50 PM

Laura - here's my theory with the cabbies. They get kind of miffed if you are at the airport and you're a "short ride". That's because they wait in line a long, long time in queue an they don't make much if for example they get a ride like my Mom who lives 6 miles from Midway airport. As miffed as they may be, they can't say anything because if you report them, they can lose their cab token (license). I think they are used to the back and forth shuffle of train station commuters. The bus is a pain because it's soooooo slow. I would miss my regular train and about 4 or 5 more by the time it got to the station - however going TO the office, who's in a hurry? Hope you are on your feet soon. Are you serious about the snowsuit and heels lady? Why of course you are - you can't make that stuff up. Geez louise  It's amazing the things you see downtown. Sometimes we'd walk down Michigan Avenue in the summer and sit on the walls by the Art Institute and just watch the freak parade go by

Hey Mel - surprise us too and bring us back something tasty from TJ's - I promise I'll reimburse you ;) Seriously, it's very nice of you to shop for Jen. Sounds like she's not a shopper. Did they have any good samples today?

Kasey - enjoy your enchiladas. Sounds like you are adjusting your meal plan to accomodate them which is good. Thinking before eating is always a good habit. I'm in your camp - I find it easier to control the food than the exercise. Someday when I win the lottery and can live life the way I want to ...

Lunch is over, back to my reports. Later ladies...

annie175 11-12-2010 03:15 PM

Well well well, guess who is the new TEMP receptionist at this God foresaken place starting Monday IF she passes her drug test?? My DD. Samantha.

Shad 11-12-2010 04:40 PM

Morning all,
You lot have been chatty overnight, apart from Michelle that is. Hope she hasn't had brain overload from all the training and that she is not wracked in pain somewhere.

Mel - Hope you got all the items on the list for your and Jens groceries. I always heave a big sigh of relief when I cross off the last of the list and realise I can go home.

Happy - DS2 is even more grumpy about the job when he realises that the contracting company put together a plan and charged for the full two weeks of hired labour and they will reap the profit. One of these days he will make a good project manager but only if he can get labour that works as he does. Probably not a possibility.
Sorry, you are not going to convince me about the right to bear arms. If crime is very low where you are going to, it more likely to be the sensible and sane people who create that atmosphere. Bears do not go into supermarkets often. And in all my travels I have found that people who live in smaller communities and who have space to move about in, are the people who live a more serene and sedate lifestyle and has nothing to do with guns. It seems that we are not civilised enough to live in cities. There is a whole world outside the US borders whose people do not carry arms - they may have them at home, licensed and locked away - and they are none the worse for it. There are even a couple of countries left in this jaded old world whose police forces do not bear arms. They have no better or no worse record for murders or shootings. It isn't about guns, it's about people. Off the :soap:

Annie - Cute story about Hella Bella, she sure has two personalities that dog. As for the lists, I don't think you want to see mine. It's up to 294 lines on a spreadsheet and I haven't finished it yet. Mind you it doesn't all have to be done in the next day or so. Thank heaven for that.
Sorry to hear about the god daughter. She will have her hands full for a while. Thank heavens for mums hey!
Ha ha - are you going to be the heavy handed boss with the new temp staff?

Kasey - I think your family must be very proud of you with all those scholarships and grants. I paid for the DS1's Uni education because I promised them both I would see them up to and including university. After that, they were totally and financially on their own. DS1 eventually decided that he would do uni part time and get a day job and then he took over his fees as well. DS2 didn't want to go to uni and went on to do a Dive Master course which I paid for in lieu of uni fees. It was hard work at the time but neither of them started off life with a mortgage - and neither of them has come to me for money or anything either apart from when they wanted to top up a deposit for their first houses. A loan, which got paid back asap.
Sounds like your weekend will be nice - but watch that food. It always seems to be harder to take the weight off second time around.

Laura - I've been to Sedona and loved it. My friend took me there the first time I went to the States. And the drive to NM from her place was fairly boring until I got to the NM border. I'd been to the Grand Canyon previously so wasn't going to stop there again. The border area between AZ and NM has these huge hulking great rock formations and the drive to Bloomfield although mostly flat had the odd butte which just rose up out of the ground. When driving those roads, I must have acclimatised to the wrong side of the road but in reality, I suppose I just followed everyone else - that made life easier. No decision on left and right turns - because you do feel dyslexic for a couple of days.
Glad to hear that the foot is coming right.

Ceejay - those garbage disposals have been banned in Australia in most States. I don't even think you can buy them anymore. They are very bad for the environment apparently. It's nice to hear that others make lists of things to do. I always find if I write something down, then for some reason it is easier to remember. Such as when I leave my shopping list at home. Generally I can visualise the list and see everything on it. Don't know how that happens.

Guess that is about it for this time. I need to get out in the garden before the heat hits again and then I better make some soup out of all the tomatoes which have ripened in the bowl on the bench. Probably with red peppers - got a couple of them hanging about as well. And then no doubt I will find something else to do. I'm having a thought about a swaile in the walled garden where I can possibly do some water collection and maybe entice froggies around (not toads). They are endangered here. Also I have an article on plants for butterflies so I need to check up on where I can get some of the plants for them. I know I already have some butterfly plants because I have a number of them flitting around the yard, but there are some species native to this area that have become endangered and their habitat has disappeared. Lucky butterflies and caterpillars don't carry weapons isn't it.

See ya

ceejay52 11-12-2010 07:54 PM

Kasy
I'm proud of you for getting the grants for your college education. My aunt and uncles grand children have run up huge college debt. I love Mexican ffod as well but the sodium in it has become my worse enemy.

Shad and Annie,
I''ve been to those place too but the state of Colorado was my favorite due to all the huge rock formations.

Annie
I love cute stories like the one about HB.

Shad
When I do make out a grocery list, it's left at home. And usually means two or three trips there and back.

Mel
Hope you enjoyed your outting to TJ's.

Happy
Don't work to hard on your reports.

Laura
Contiue to take care of your foot. You are making the right choices in not walking to the train.

all of the things on my list were completed today. Took some things back to Wal-Mart that didn't fit. I now have an in store card worth 40 dollars. Took some coins to the bank to cash in and have another 69 dollars in my pocket. I did fill the car up with gas. Ate lunch with a couple of friends and another man that they knew picked up our tab. I was shocked. No one has ever done that for me. Then drove to Blytheville to the Eye Doctor to have my eyes checked. My catarac's have grown and has impaired my vision but only to a small degree. I did get the progressive lens and with the no glare, and the new frames were 94 dollars. The total visit and the new glasses totaled a whopping 499 dollars. my insurance will only cover 49 dollars. It seems that I get the privilege to carry an insurance card. I'm not happy with either of my insurance company's. Enough said.

My eyes are still a bit blurry from being dialated. More tomorrow.

zoochick777 11-13-2010 01:14 PM

Hello everyone. Just checking in really quick, I have lots to do today. The enchiladas were very good, so good in fact that instead of only eating half and taking the rest home for later I ate all of it and ended up stuffed and feeling sick. Won't be doing that again anytime soon. To compensate for the extra calories, I worked out extra hard this morning and burned about 500 calories in an hour. I had a healthy lunch and I'm about to go take a shower so that I can go get my oil changed in my car and get some shopping done. The BF and I are going to cook a healthy meal tonight so I have to figure out what we're going to cook and go buy the ingredients. Then I have to come home, clean the place up a bit, start cooking and get as much school work done as possible. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

happy2bme 11-13-2010 01:19 PM

Hi all,

Rainy chilly weekend here. Good for staying in as I have lots to do around the house. Just about to figure out what to make for lunch and then it's time to start the laundry and go attack some of those piles that are begging to be cleared out.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
