Happy Monday ladies -
Had a busy weekend. Spent all day Saturday doing website work until my brain and my back couldn't stand it any longer. Then DH and I went to the grocery store in the late afternoon. After unloading the groceries and eating dinner, I "hung around" for 5 minutes and that helped my back. I spent yesterday cooking make and freeze meals, and I helped DH in the yard. Then DH and I ran a couple errands, came home, and I fixed spaghetti, and then "hung around" some more. My back was really hurting from all the standing while cooking and the little bit of yard work. I "hung around" this morning before work, and I have PT/Traction at lunch.
Mel - So nice that you were able to do the shopping for you and Jen. Wish you could've done mine too. I've gotta tell ya' I am so glad that there are stores that have the motorized shopping carts that you can sit in, scoot around and put stuff in your basket. I didn't need them this weekend, but the last couple weekends, I wouldn't have been able to get around the stores without them. Maybe I could borrow one and you and I could do races!

Good for you for getting all your cooking done. I love having heat and eat meals in the freezer. I'm so proud of you for telling the office not to bug you today and for putting the sign on your door! That's an adorable photo of the pilgrim cat and indian dog.
Annie - The Hella Bella cookie jar story was adorable! Thanks for sharing!! Sorry that the St. Louis trip had to be cancelled...but good for you for keeping your weekend to yourself. I hope your GD's foot heals quickly. Congrats to your DD for getting a job at your company.
Kasey - Congrats on the weight loss! Hope you enjoyed your quiet weekend. Good for you on the great workout on Saturday!
Laura - My dogs would be like Coal if given the opportunity to put their heads in a bag of treats. We haven't seen the bat in the basement since DH saw it the first night...so either he was mistaken and there was no bat, or it's just not coming out. I hope your foot is feeling better.

The Grand Canyon is gorgeous! It's breathtakingly beautiful. I want to see more of the US as well. I rode in a taxi once in Chicago, and the guy was weaving in and out of traffic at 60 mph. I nearly lost my lunch right there in his cab! I was terrified and nauseous at the same time!
Happy - I find it much easier to do the exercise than to control the food...which is why I'm having such difficulty now that I can't exercise much at all. I'm so over this. I think you're right about the cold being here to stay. We didn't get "S" over the weekend, but it was so damp, windy and bitterly, bone chilling cold, it was still better to be indoors. Unfortunately, DH had lots to get done outdoors. I helped him when my back would allow, which unfortunately wasn't much. The sweetie said that I helped him "a lot" though. Awwww, he's just trying to make me feel not totally feeble or useless. The pain over the weekend came from A LOT of working at the computer on Saturday, and A LOT of standing yesterday. Luckily, the inversion machine takes the pain down from a 9 or 10 to a 5 or 6 or so. I've got a doc appointment tomorrow. I'll see what he suggests as a next step.
Shad - I did have brain overload from all the training last week, and on Friday I was notified that a couple of my projects which I hadn't really started on due to training, had their deadlines moved up to end of day today. I agree with you on the right to bear arms. If people want a gun for hunting, then that's their business...but there are many guns whose sole purpose is to injure or kill human beings. You're right though...it isn't about guns, it's about people, and if I was afraid of where I lived/worked, I'd sooner move to someplace where I felt safe than own a gun that could possibly be used against me. I didn't get to the gym for water aerobics. I'm hoping to go tonight after I get done with the lawn. I can either try the Water Aerobics class at 6 pm or do it on my own after class at 7:15. My PT is hoping I will try to do it on my own first, because since he knows how I am...he knows I will push myself to keep up with the class and last for the full hour even if my body is complaining loudly. What can I say? He's right. That's how I am. If I do go to the class....I will promise myself (and my PT) to listen to my body and only do what I can do. You're not alone, Ms. Shaddie, I am ALWAYS more in defense of animals than people. Actually, animals and children over adults. That's why I think what football player Michael Vick should've gotten more jail time for what he did, and why I'm STRONGLY OPPOSED to puppy mills, etc. I hope your :soapbox: is big enough for the both of us!
Ceejay - So sorry to hear about your aunt and uncle!! How awful that it was from an unlicensed, uninsured driver! I hope they are feeling better soon and are able to get some kind of settlement for the damages. Do they have another vehicle to use in the meantime? So nice that someone picked up the lunch tab for you! Sorry to hear about your cataracts. Wow! That was an expensive eye doctor visit. At my work, we have a standard plan, and a premium plan, which costs about $5 more per month. I purchased the premium plan for this year and my $550 glasses and eye visit only cost $100. Sorry to hear that your insurance didn't cover more.

You walked 1.4 miles just shopping!

So nice that you're seeing Fall color. Our leaves have nearly all fallen. Our front tree still has a few remaining, but the majority are down and I will mow/mulch them (probably in the dark) after work today. In the backyard, we have a lot of leaves that were windblown into piles along the fence, so in the next week or so DH will use the leaf blower to get them to the center of the yard and then we'll mow/mulch those.
Well, I'd best get some work done...Lots of deadlines to meet today.
Love and hugs to all,
