OMG I am so freaked out. Just got home from CVS. So this guy who has been wanting to go out with me that I keep saying no to because he smokes, stops in tonight and says, what time do you get off work? Come have a beer with me. I say, no you smoke, did you quit smoking? Well of course not, so he says I will be waiting outside for you to follow me to have a beer. So I say ok. But what I did was, when he turned at the light to go to the bar, I blew through the light, straight, and raced home into my garage. He will be pissed, cause he smelled of alcohol anyway. The bright side is I don't work at CVS till next week on Wednesday. Hopefully he won't be back. I am so freaked out. and to think, I actually feel badly for blowing him off at the stoplight. YIKES, I am weird.

annie175 10-21-2010 09:03 AM

Me eyes are burning, and I am tired. Played H*LL getting outof bed this morning. Didn't get into work til 8:30 am. Just an hour late. Who freakin cares, not me this morning. Payday tomorrow, it can't get here quick enough, got bills to pay. Really need to hit the lottery, big time. I am just babbling cause I am so tired.

Mellie...I think most things at Trader Joes is overpriced, but dang I do love that place. This coming from a woman who shops at Aldi's. LOL

Hello to all ya'll...

Have a Great Thursday/Friday....TGI TH & F, fo sho.

ceejay52 10-21-2010 11:32 AM

Annie
I'm proud of you in ditching that guy. He was rude. I'm ready for pay day myself tomorrow.

Shad
A son that cleans, wow. You have taught him right.

Happy
The potato pancakes sounds good. I don't eat pancakes that often mainly because of the spike in the blood sugar.

Mel
You sound in a chipper mood. Hope some of it rubs off on me.

Michelle
Has work slowed down any?

Laura
Do you have a book club meeting this week end?

Speaking of sugar my neighbor brought over dough nuts while ago. I only took three and they were yummy. I'd hate to see what my blood sugar levels would read.

Spoke to my sister on the phone last night. She's getting things planned for next week. I think she's more excited than I am. and I'm excited. To top this off I had an incoming call while talking to her but didn't answer it. I returned the call after I got home. It was my co-worker who is taking my place next week. She's alway's got this excuse that some one in her family is sick, dying or in the hospital. Supposedly her mil is in the hospital. And I'm stupid enough that I'll say yes to those type of excuses. I told her NO last night and told her I was going out of town on Saturday. I was expecting a phone call from the boss this morning. She ranted on and on about her job. I wish she would quit.

I'm going back to Verizon in a bit to have them check the internet card that I got a couple of weeks ago. It didn't down load properly. Then's it's back home to get things ready for my trip. I may leave tomorrow.

I need to retrack my walking bit in Walmart. Yes I walked for ten minutes but then afterwards I went shopping.

happy2bme 10-21-2010 01:58 PM

Howdy chicks,

Well I'm not sure about this on plan in October theme of the month. I have been going to bed early for the last several weeks to try and get 6 and a half to 7 hours of sleep instead of the 5 or so I was running on. I keep waking up around 4 or 5 am and can't get back to sleep. Not awake enough to get up but not getting a deep sleep either. So I don't feel as rested as I should. And it's not that I'm waking up for potty stops either - I just wake up. :dunno:

I have noticed no difference in my fasting blood sugar in the morning after cutting way back on sugar this week. :dunno:

I also thought the sugar might have been making me feel achey but no difference in that either.

So I'm not doing any more Worldly Theme of the Months

Annie - how scary about the stalker dude. I certainly hope someone will be kind enough to make sure you get home ok for a while. He sounds mega creepy. *shudder*. Walk out of CVS with a baseball bat and don't be afraid to use it. I guess if you shopped at Aldi's you would be scared of Trader Joe's prices. I am a sucker for a good grocery store - the bigger the better  When I die I'm going to haunt one of those mega stores like they have in Dallas.

Ceejay - yay for not caving into the co-workers whining and changing your vacation plans. Boo on her - sounds like everyone is anticipating a good time and you deserve it. Have fun!

Well I cannot even remember the last time I had potato pancakes - sometime in the 90's I think so I never thought about the potatoes themselves spiking the sugar. Add a drizzle (not a lot) of Log Cabin Maple Syrup and while it didn't go above 106, it did shoot up about 10 points. Done with that one.

Mel - I hate banks. Did I say that before. Shame on them for taking what few pennies you have. Miserable :censored: I'm glad Willie is still looking out for you. He will have to take you on a special ride to see the tree colors.

Laura - that's pretty bad when one size fits all mittens don't. I mean they are mittens!!!!! Some of those tiny stretchy gloves look like they'd fit a 3 year old. And when they stretch that much, they don't keep your hands warm. That was the hardest part - keeping the hands warm.

And for those of you planning to winter with me - bear in mind you better come now because I am making plans to get out of here and we are going to a place that everyone says - are you NUTS - it's frigid up that way!!!!! So while it might not be as cold as a Wyoming or Montana winter, it will be cold. Anything to get out of here. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shad - I have one of those French coffee presses too but it never seems to make as good a cup of coffee as the regular brew pot. I use mine for tea now.

Oh oh - it's Thursday and we haven't heard from Michelle- do you think she's face first on her keyboard sleeping???? Someone go poke her.

Gotta get back to work now. Later chicks.

annie175 10-21-2010 02:35 PM

Happy...you bring the french coffee press and Shad can be in charge of the brewing. I am sure if Shad brews it we will ALL stay awake are our jobs. I am having trouble today staying awake. I fell asleep in the break room, my head bobbed back and woke me up. I have found a yummy delite for me and I don't even like soda but I have been freezing Coke Zero in the breakroom fridge and having it as an afternoon snack. Tastes good.

NO NEGATIVE NELLIE IN NOVEMBER FOR THE WORLDLIES

Come on 4 o'clock....

diyana 10-21-2010 03:36 PM

I'm here...and exhausted. I've been literally running (or at least walking fast) ALL OVER the building trying to track down VPs and Senior VPs to have them approve two reports I created that we are trying to get implemented before the 10/29 deadline. Because we do most of our business between Nov. 1 and Jan. 1, we have a "law" that no new applications, reports or anything is implemented during November and December unless God and all his disciples approve it. Needless to say, that means EVERYONE is running around trying to get approvals...and the people who need to approve/sign off on stuff are ALWAYS in meetings. So you literally have to stalk these execs. So I've got all the signatures I need. :faint:

I've got an all day training class tomorrow...so I can't work from home. But it's a good class...so I'm looking forward to it.

Love and hugs to all,

Laura705 10-21-2010 03:54 PM

Hey everybody! Busy day today, but I'm not getting much accomplished!

Shad - Mmm, the couscous sounds good w/ the citrus. I agree it's boring unless you zip it up w/ seasonings. I'm going to try cooking it with some orange juice next time. Oh I forgot about the cpr class - yep, I've got my card that's good for two years, even though I'll go through training again next year. LOL about the guy taking a call during compressions. Be thankful you never had to rely on his emergency skills.

Ceejay - Enjoy your vacation. Yay for you not changing your plans because your fill-in supposedly had an issue. It's your boss's problem, not yours. Nope, no book club this weekend. The next meeting date hasn't even been determined yet. I'm on my own reading a combination of detective fiction, trashy romance novels, the latest Carl Hiaasen, and now I've reserved the 2nd in the Stieg Larsson trilogy (The Girl Who Played with Fire) and also a book titled "Little Bee" by Chris Cleave. I bet you're sorry you asked, lol. Yum, doughnuts.

Annie - Glad you ditched the pushy smoker. I hope he's gotten the message and won't be a jerk. Sorry you're tired today - hope you get a good night's rest tonight. I think the frozen foods/meals are more expensive at TJ's, but that's also because they never go on sale. Hey, their wine prices are good!

Mel - Sorry about the nightmares!! Hope you don't have a meeting and you can go to bed early tonight and have sweet dreams instead! :)

Happy - I'm not sure what happened to my plan, but it's sure hasn't been on for me. (Funny how I say that as if I had no control over it.)

Michelle - WAKE UP!!!

Nothing exciting last night - just a dog walk. No BE workout. Just didn't feel like it, and the knee was still sore. Today, less so. Maybe tomorrow I'll haul the gym gear downtown and get in a cardio workout.

Lunch w/ friends yesterday and today was really nice. In a few minutes there's another fundraising function - a talent show, lol. Nothing going on tonight, and I'll see about doing a BE workout. I've been such a sloth lately!

Laura705 10-21-2010 03:55 PM

Hey Chelle - So you've got a lot of walking done today getting all those signatures, huh? Good job!!

diyana 10-21-2010 05:26 PM

yup...lots of walking, running, stalking, pestering. It got the job done, and I got some nice kudos from my boss. :)

:yikes:  OMG - THE YEAR END FREEZE - designed to make us all
:dizzy: :spin: :fr: :stress: :tantrum: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :tired: :yikes:

Glad you got everything you need Michelle. A valliant effort on your part. :cp:

Shad 10-21-2010 08:23 PM

Happy - you just wait until you see what I am going to call November's thread. Just you wait.
Since I no longer have to live with snow and ice during the winter, the thought of taking a break to visit is quite acceptable. Probably won't be when I leave. And oh yes, my coffee perks even the hardiest coffee addict up. No wonder my kids won't touch the stuff. DS1 comes and has a big sniff when I make it, but says the smell is better than the actual. DS2 considers me to be addicted and therefore immoral about coffee. And my friend fall about laughing when I ask if they require real or imagined coffee. Imagined being the instant stuff. They all know about my real.

Annie - be very careful around that stalker. They don't give up and don't give in. I think you need to get someone to run you home for a while and if he persists, then by all means file a report on him. He needs to be told and not by you because he is not listening to you.

Mel - if it is okay with you, I will stick to my winters here. I just love winter here, it's the summer that hacks me off. We will go to NZ for the summer and tour around the lakes and forests.

Michelle - hope you can manage some rest over the weekend and next week. The fact that you are walking and chasing men all over the building is a fairly positive outlook.

Laura - at least you gave the doggy a good walk. I'm till walking the riverbank but not getting much else done in the way of exercise - apart from waving the boys off to squash or tennis each night.

Ceejay - have a good break, drive carefully, come back refreshed. Do not take calls from the office.

I actually have some work to do today, so I better get off and do it. I'll be back to you tomorrow and tell you some more of the funny stories I now have stored up. See ya

MELODY525 10-22-2010 07:58 AM

HAPPY FRIDAY. SORRY THIS IS SHORT BUT THEY ARE
SHORT-HANDED AT WORK. MAYBE A FULL DAY.
I AM OFF TO BLOWDRY MY HAIR!
HAVE A GREAT DAY. :moped:

SHAD...HAPPY SATURDAY!! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

happy2bme 10-22-2010 08:02 AM

Happy Friday mornin' to yahs all. :D Made it through another week...

Shad - so now you have my curiosity peaked about next week. I will let you post the new thread then. Somehow I do get the feeling that your coffee would be bold and strong. And not sissy flavored like ours. Heck, after a while I can't taste the flavor either.

Ceejay - I hope you enjoy your vacation and have a great time with your family. Safe travels to you!

Michelle - I still get a chuckle from you racing around to collect signatures and beat the deadlines. Mostly because they make it so comical for us (NOT). It's true - you have to get a papal dispensation to bypass the freeze. Hopefully you can get the playful weekend you deserve now that you have done your duty.

Annie - frozen Coke? Well I guess it's not too much different than the Coke slushie stuff at the 7-11's. Good stuff - but only in the hot summer. Come to think of it, we have no 7-9-11 stores down this way. I guess they have been replaced by "convienience mart" gas stations. I guess if you don't have to go back to CVS until Wednesday that means you have some free nights? Whoo hoo. Hope you don't book them up with chores.

So Laura - are you getting roped into joining the talent show? Sounds like they have some creative ways to get money from your wallet. We are telling people after paying through the nose for the health care increases, we have such a negative increase there's no money for anything else. Kinda what they tell us at raise time :s:

Good morning Miss Mel. How did I beat you in this morning? You are usually up early coaxing the sun out of the horizon. I hope things are going well for you. How is Jen doing? Did you guys recover from the side effects of your shots? Do they get worse each year?

Guess it's time to get on with the day. Talk to you later. Happy Friday.

happy2bme 10-22-2010 08:03 AM

I kinda thought she was hovering around me. Good morning Miss Sunshine - don't let them wear you out in the office.

annie175 10-22-2010 09:40 AM

TGIF and I have been bad already this morning. Jan's BD here in the office. Mary brought WARM CINNAMON ROLLS from Pat-a-Cakes bakery. OMGoodness are they ever good. Only ate a half of one, that is my justification. LOL.....and....we are going to On the Border (Mexican) Restaurant for lunch. Moo moo buck-a-roo (as in kangaroo) lol

Happy...yep, so far on the agenda for the next few nights off...finish cleaning this evening, then getting up and getting a front end alignment and am sure to find out that I have something wrong with my right front something or rather cause I have funny steering going on. Major $$ I am sure. Then Saturday night I have a date with Bo Hick, remember him from southern Indiana? Sunday with Dad. After that I am pretty much free Monday and Tuesday nights...as of now.

Shad...just go ahead and brag about no snow or ice living. The way the weather has been this past year, you never know what you might get, just like Forrest Gumps box of chocolates. Will you even know how to act with actual work at that place?

Laura..lunch with friends, it always says to me a free for all with eating. Like a pass to be bad. Goodluck making good choices.

Chelle...sounds like you need to wear your red ball jets tennis shoes to work. That was a brand of tennies when I was about 5 years old, pretty sure they are no longer around. Red cloth tennis shoes with white rubber soles and white rubber toe cover with a little red ball on the back of the white rubber heel. Kind of like today's low ankle buddy tennis shoes.

Hello's to the rest of ya's.

Have a wonderful weekend, my sista friends.

Laura705 10-22-2010 11:12 AM

Morning all. TGIF!!!

Michelle - LOL - stalking the big shots for their signatures. :D Nice the boss appreciated your tenacity. :)

Shad - More funny stories please! LOL, real or imagined coffee. My mom's retired and has plenty of time to brew real coffee, but she's a frugal sort and would hate it if she didn't finish a pot of coffee she'd brewed. So she's an instant coffee drinker. I'm not a coffee drinker at all, so I'm with DS1 - smells good (especially the smell of the beans being ground!), but I'll pass on drinking it.

Mel - Hope your office day goes okay - DON'T WORK TOO HARD!! You're ahead of me w/ blowdrying your hair. I didn't have time this morning, but I better start getting my act together in the mornings - it's getting too darn cold to leave the house w/ wet hair!!

Happy - No, I didn't perform in the talent show, just attended it. I thought the $5 fee for admission was worth it, and for a good cause. People like this kind of stuff and are willing to spend a few bucks for it. I'm sure the contributions via payroll deduction are probably suffering a bit though due to the freeze on raises and bonuses... Doesn't help that our insurance rates are increasing this year too, but at least they're limiting it to 5%.

Annie - I hope your car problem doesn't turn out to be major $$$. It's not related to that car hitting yours a while back?? If so, let them pay for it - church or not. One of my lunches was pretty healthy - tilapia sandwich. The other wasn't - big serving of pasta. So it's a split - only a half free-for-all.

Ceejay - Hope you're enjoying your vacay. Maybe you've already left for your sister's?? Safe travels!!

Yesterday's fundraiser talent show was good - three singers, one pianist (a video), two standup comics, and one act that's hard to describe - a one-man band of sorts (who was not actually a serious contestant). There was a judging panel because this was, after all, modeled after "America's Got Talent". I wasn't too keen on the act in which a Mr. White Bread sang the Louie Armstrong song "What a Wonderful World" - in Louie's voice, of course. I've seen that done a few times and I just don't think it's funny, and I kind of think it borders on inappropriate. Not sure why - comics do impersonations of all types/races of people all the time and I don't have a problem with it... I'm just being weird. One of the standup comics won it, deservedly. A $500 prize!

I did one BE workout last night, but bf did the dog walk before I got home, so no dog walk for me. I watched some tv, finished the Carl Hiaasen novel, did a load of laundry, and loaded some more music and podcasts on iTunes, which I synched to my iPod this morning. My knee is STILL sore, so I'm not doing the elliptical today. I'm gonna do a couple errands at lunchtime anyway.

Tomorrow the friend whose dh passed away is coming over and we'll hang out and also go out to lunch. Been a long time since we got together, and it'll be a bit sad because the three of us (bf included) will be missing T. Nothing else planned for the weekend - yay!!

ceejay52 10-22-2010 11:43 AM

I made a decision yesterday that work is not going to keep me from enjoying my day's off. My sis and I planned for me to come on Saturday and that's what it will be. I'm not answering the phone if my boss should call.

Shad
I love the smell of coffee brewing but hate the taste. There's a coffee mill in the mall in Springfield that I love to go to just to smell the coffee. They have coffee beans from all over the world.

Laura
Sounds like you had fun at the talent show. Was it local's from your company?

Michelle
Good job on getting all those required signatures and getting kudo's from the boss.

Mel
As the others have said don't work to hard.

Annie
You deserve the next few day's off. Enjoy the week end. I like the ON THE Border resturant. My sister that lives in Dallas has taken me there. Yum. I've not thought about frozen coke. Dad used to do this and put peanuts in it.

It's pay day and check has already arrived so it's time to get the bill's sorted out and get them in the mail.

annie175 10-22-2010 03:14 PM

Bless these silly men around this office. Dude put Dawn Dishwashing liquid in the dish washer, we have water and suds all over the kitchen area. LMAO!!!!

diyana 10-22-2010 03:55 PM

TGIF! And I'm leaving in about 10 minutes! Wooo Hooo!

The day started with trying to put out fires prior to going to the all day class. And worrying that the situation might smolder and blow up tonight.

But I've got all the logistics worked out for the teams that are working tonight to implement our reports. And my brain is full of all I learned at training so I'm heading home to relax. I'll have to login around 7 or 8 pm anyway for a couple hours to verify/validate as things get implemented.

I'm hoping the weather cooperates so I can get some yard work done this weekend. :crossed:

Annie - Thanks for the great laugh about the dish soap in the dishwasher. I remember red ball tennies! They were awesome!

No more time for personals...I gotta get outta here before another firestorm hits!

I hope y'all have a great weekend!!!

Lots of love and big, big, hugs,

Shad 10-22-2010 04:49 PM

Busy day ahead of me today, so no personals until I get the house done and the yard tidy and do the shopping etc. DS1 has been away for a couple of days staying with friends and the DS2 went out celebrating late last night so he is snoring on the couch watching tv (Better Homes and Gardens - not a normal choice for him). And YES he was celebrating getting his apprenticeship. He told me last night. I am so thrilled for him. We will need something to drink to celebrate on Sunday at the bbq.
Cat is becoming senile I am sure of it. Can't remember the last time she had anything to eat - and it was only 5 minutes back - she is inhaling anything that lands on the floor and is getting horribly vocal when we take no notice of her.

Anyway I am out of here to finish the coffee (it's instant and therefore imagined) and get on with clearing the kitchen and sorting out what I have for the meal and what I have to buy. Gotta get on with it.

happy2bme 10-23-2010 09:44 AM

Good morning kids,

Gotta get my hair done this morning. I could have waited 2 more weeks or so but my hairdresser is very popular and she is just coming back from maternity leave so I make my appointments well in advance. Sometimes when I make an appointment back in May it's hard to tell how slow or fast my hair will grow in October.

Anyway no time for personals, got to get out of here in 30 minutes. Catch up later.

OOOOOHHHH HAPPY....I LOVE THE NEW AVATAR!! BOOOOOO TO YOU TOO!! HAPPY HAIR DAY!! :belly:

Laura705 10-23-2010 07:34 PM

Hello all!

Michelle - Hope you didn't have to work too much today!

Annie - Too funny about the dawn in the dishwasher!! All those suds must have been funny to see. :D

Shad - Congrats to ds2 on getting the apprenticeship spot. :) Hope you're enjoying the bbq!

Happy - Wow, that's pretty far in advance to make hair appts!! But it really says something about the quality of the stylist, doesn't it? Nice avatar. :)

Mel - Sorry work was just work and not pleasant and fun. But it's called work for a reason, and that's why they have to pay people to do it... Glad you didn't have to deal w/ the meeting Thurs night. Ooh, look at the avatar!!

My friend left about 90 min. ago. We had a wonderful time. I'm happy to say she's doing pretty well after the loss of her husband. She told us she recently completed a 6-week group grief program and it really helped her, and now she's made some good friends that are in the same boat to whom she can turn for support. She's spent a lot of her adult life busy with work, school and a husband and mother who needed medical assistance. She hadn't been socializing much outside her family, especially the past several years, so she's started reaching out now and reconnecting with people. It's good to hear that.

Nothing much planned for the rest of the weekend. The weather tomorrow will decide what I do - stay inside or do some yardwork. Well, I'm actually in dire need of some new shoes for work, so there's also the shopping that I keep putting off.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends ladies!

Good Evening My Dear Sweet Friends...........

Awaiting the arrival of Bo Hick. Yes we are going out tonight. He should arrive around 8 or 8:30, since he is coming from souther Indiana about a 2 hour drive. Wow makes me feel special. We are going to a place call Mucky Ducks. Restaurant/Pub/Pool place. It should be fun. It is a new place here in Indy. It is too bad he doesn't live closer and I could look at him more than a friend and good time.....lol

Today started out at 5 am. Was at the car place at 7:30, the car needed aligned and a bolt thingy to adjust the cam thingy....45 minutes later and 90 bucks out of my pocket, I was back on the road. The car does drive better and praise the Lord that was all it was.....altho the ABS light came on once and went back off, hopefully it was a fluke and nothing more. I replace the ABS crap on a previous car and it ran me like 800 bucks. YIKES, scary thought.

Then went and picked up brother to take him to get a rental moving truck. Then went to his office and loaded boxes of crap for a trade show that he and another VP is driving to in Portland Oregon. If you look at a map....Indy to Portland is like a billion miles and takes days. What a way to spend my day off. Big brother did take me to lunch at a great steak place, for me to order rattlesnake bites...stuffed jalapenos and a salad. Quite yum. Then spent the remainder of the afternoon at dads. Took him his CVS brand of Miralax..stool softner. He was please to get it, funny.... Took my leftovers of lunch over to DDs house then came home, took a nap, shower and waiting on Bo Hick. Shu weeeeee, what a day, maybe a day working at CVS wouldn't of been too bad. lol

We did have a girl quit at CVS, but I am thinking they are in no big hurry to replace her. We actually have enough people without her. She was useless anyway. Didn't get the concept of get it done and get it done now, just kind of doddled.

Shadddddddddddd.....congrats to DS on the apprenticeship...cheers...I may have a cocktail in his honor, ok, I will have a cocktail in his honor. Hope you get all your stuffsssss done around the house.

Chelle....glad you got all your siggies and got the H outta work before they could detain you again. Man take a mad dash and get outta that place. Enjoy your weekend. Relax and recoup, cause once you are feeling up to par, YOU WILL HIT IT HARD AND LOSE THIS WEIGHT. I am tired of talking about it, lash lash with the wet noodle, get on that horse and ride. Get it?? I know I can preach a great story and should listen to myself as I STILL need to lose this 10-15 lbs that I have needed to lose all YEAR long. This is enough of wasted time sista, two years residing at the same place has got to stop.....dang it anyways.

Mellie...work work work, go away and don't ever come back, any day! and a big BOOOOOOO to you my sista friend. Looks like I am working 11-7 on Halloween. I really don't care, no little ones in my house. By the time I get home it will all be over. So no candy of any kind coming into this house. You too, get with the program and lose this weight, BullSH*T, we have need to lose the same weight the past two years or more, and I say WE...enough is enough.

Laura...ok...maybe a year of having to lose the same weight...but who cares, this is rediculous...let's do it, this is nuts, we sure can make the great excuses why not or this celebration or that one, or a meeting, or just anything to eat...d*mn let us stop this nonsense and get slim....

Ceejay....hope the vacay is going splendidly and you are not letting work interfere. Do NOT answer that d*mn phone. ENJOY!!!

Well as if you could not tell it, I am full of CHIT tonight. I am so disappointed with myself and being at that same point now as in January with how much I have NOT lost. Of course, I am being hard on you all too, cause I am taking you all down with me. This is just nuts, we are ALL stonger than this weight we need to lose. Why are we letting it rule us and win. This, too, we shall overcome....come on girls, lets help each other do it, we need to be strickter with ourselves and each other.

Ok, enough preaching as I am just p*ssed at myself for letting an entire year, two years go by and not succeeding.

We need to ROCK...and MOVE...and be OP....

If I have offended anyone, I apologize....as you know I loves yas and only want the best for us.

Much much love and many many hugs.

MELODY525 10-24-2010 08:10 AM

:dancer: WE'RE GONNA HAVE A HEAT WAVE AGAIN!! GONNA BE IN THE 60'S & 70'S FOR A FEW DAYS BUT WITH RAIN TOO. :rain: TIME TO TURN OFF THE HEAT AGAIN.
JEN AND I SPENT THE DAY JUST CHATTING AND DREAMING. WE AGREED TO SLAP $600 DOWN ON THE CREDIT CARD. ONLY $3200 MORE TO GO. I'LL SAVE YOU FROM KNOWING THE INTEREST RATE.
I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SHARE THIS MORNING YOU LUCKY PEOPLE.
HAVE A SUPER DAY :moped::

LAURA...OMG...I LOVE SNOOPY!! CRACKED ME UP THIS MORNING. LITTLE THINGS AMUSE ME  SHOPPING...NOW THERE'S A JOB I WOULD LOVE!! I AM VERY GLAD TO HEAR ABOUT THE FRIEND AND THE GRIEF PROGRAM. SO HAPPY TO HEAR IT WORKED OUT FOR HER. HOPE SHE KEEPS RIGHT ON REACHING OUT.

ANNIE...BO HICK!!:lol3: BUT I HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD TIME. GOOD OF YOU TO HELP THE BRO LIKE THAT. HOPE THEY HAVE A SAFE TRIP. HAD A LAUGH AT DAD AND HIS "MIRALAX".

***SOMEHOW I LOST PART OF MY COPY AND PASTE TO ANNIE...IT WAS ABOUT WEIGHTLOSS. I HAVE BEEN FAIRLY VIGILANT ABOUT BEING OP SINCE 2003. I WAS OVER 210 LBS. MY CALORIES CAN'T GO ANY LOWER THAN THEY ALREAD ARE (1000-1100.) YES THERE WERE SOME BAD CHOICES IN THERE BUT WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO MOVE AND THE BODY MAKING FAT TO FILL THE SPACE LEFT BY WASTING MUSCLE, THE DRS ARE AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT TO TELL ME TO TRY NEXT. I JUST WAS HOPING I COULD FOOL THEM AGAIN LIKE I DID WHEN I LOST THE 30 LBS. THEY WERE SHOCKED TO SEE ME 7 YRS AGO. YOU WOULD HAVE LOVED THEIR FACES ANNIE!! FLOORED!!!
I HEAR EVERY WORD YOU'RE SAYING AND YOU'RE RIGHT. A PERSON NEEDS TO EITHER WANT IT OR NOT. POUNDS DO NOT FALL OFF BY THEMSELVES. IT TAKES DEDICATION AND PLANNING.
OF COURSE THERE'S NO OFFENSE TAKEN MF:dance: DON'T BE SILLY!!! LOL

annie175 10-24-2010 11:06 AM

Good Day All Ya'll.....

Shad, Shad, Shad.....I cleaned out the closet, even vacuumed it. Got two bags of goodies for Goodwill. and a trash bag full of throw aways. You can actually walk in to the closet. As soon as I get my shower, I am headin' to Goodwill for drop off.

While cleaning out the closet I had the tube on in my bedroom watching The Road to Tarbithia. I forgot what a good movies it was, a little far fetched but not too much. You all should rent it if you havin't seen it yet. It has been out for quite some time.

So for breakfast I ate the topping off of three pieces of veggie pizza. No crusties. If I had thrown in a scrambled egg it would of been heaven. lol

The weirdest thing, it is thundering like crazy outside and the sun is shining. I, at first, thought it was a truck revving up, but no, it was thunder. Both have subsided...no thunder, no sunshine.

MELLIE....I just noticed yur little quote at the end of your post. I love it. Absolutely.

annie175 10-24-2010 05:47 PM

Grocery shopping done, gassed up the car (not the inside. lol), mangos, grapes, avocados, pesto, mini carrots, yogurt ranch dressing, it all sounds so good I want to eat everything....nope not gonna, gonna read my new Cosmo mag so I will know the "Wicked Things Other Women Do in Bed" hahahahahahha

Shad 10-24-2010 06:25 PM

Morning all,
We had a good barbeque yesterday. The weather forecast was for thundery showers in the afternoon, however I had a word with the weather gods and they held off until the guests were nearly ready to leave. Then they let all **** lose and my guests had to stay for the next round.
I was so busy yesterday, I managed to read but not to write. The boys came home from wherever and then got stuck into the heavy work, shifting chairs and tables etc. We have food left over that I shouldn't have to shop for anything but vegetables over the next couple of weeks.
We celebrated the DS2's new job - which he doesn't start until February next year, so this has been nearly a year in the making!!! :faint: and he is now considering going on holiday. I was hinting that he might like a working holiday in the States, fixing all the problems you ladies have, however I think he's more into backpacking in Ireland or Iceland or somewhere. I hope it wasn't Iran or Iraq! Little hothead that he can be, he'd be either running the country or running the jail gangs before the weekend was over.

Laura - good that you had a great time with your friend. And I am pleased to hear that she is benefitting from the conselling. Good for her.

Happy - Happy hairdressing

Mel - good that you can get some of that debt paid off the credit card. Wonderful things but not if you let them control you instead of the other way round. We had a bank manager at our bbq last night. We had a long involved discussion about investments, long term savings and the lack there of. It seems that we haven't yet learned our lessons about putting aside for a rainy day and if our banks weren't regulated the way they are, then many of us would be headed for the bankruptcy courts.
It seems that some of our bankers went to the government for permission to set up systems the same as the American banks were. Some far sighted politician (he must have left, since there doesn't seem to be too many thinking ones in the house at the moment) said no. And that's the only thing that stopped us from going the same way as you lot.

Annie - hope you have a good date with Bo. Eat up, then you can starve it off during the week. Thanks for the :kick: in the butt wake up call. I can't take offence at good advice. And you cleaned out the closet - now that is not an excuse for going out and buying new stuff. You hear.

Better go and see what the idiots have lined up for me this morning. Last week, I went over to another building to talk to one of the developers about how the users will use the system. A couple of things rung a few bells. So I went back to my office, called up a few people, asked a few questions and lo and behold, I am informed that there is documentation sitting on the Intranet for almost exactly the same stuff as I am being told has to be done yesterday. Ummmm. So I have printed it out, started to read it and am currently trying to see where I will need to make changes to the existing. What is wrong with these people? Do they like re-inventing the wheel?
On a lighter side, the work I did for Mick was well received by the company we wrote it for. One problem was that I had the wrong code for creating the work order or so it seemed, however when they went back to the original documents I had to work with, they found it was them that made the error. Yehhaaa not my mistake.
So anyway, they are talking about a complete documentation makeover in the new year and hopefully, they will offer Mick and I the work.

And my friend R from Melbourne has said that she will be up here for the weekend of Dec 10 and would like to stay. I'd better put some thought into sorting out some THINGS to do. Unlike Chris, she will not be happy to sit and read or chat - although I have the feeling my wine cellar will get a bit of a beating.

With that, I had better go and do something for the cause.

annie175 10-24-2010 08:00 PM

Um Shad...you actually have a wine cellar? OMG I will be over for sure. I need to get my kitchen cleaned up and head to bed. My mushroom sauce for the pasta tonight required a cup of dry white wine....this stuff is too good, I will surely gain weight just thinking about it. Glad the BBQ went well, tell DS that he certainly has a place to stay should he head to the states, can't say I will be here much, but he is welcome to stay.

Shad 10-24-2010 09:26 PM

The wine cellar is actually a cupboard but it is full. I just got some new stuff in last week. DS2 keeps his poison on the top shelf. I'll tell him you have invited him over!!!

happy2bme 10-24-2010 11:21 PM

Howdy chicks,

It must be autumn because my hair is red now  I just really love my hairdresser. She is so good  My hair is getting really fragile so we are easing up on the highlights for a while. Just wish I could get a different cut than the bob I always seem to wear. No much you can do with a squarish face and baby fine hair.

After my hair I went and got a pedicure. Much less busy on Saturdays than Sunday when I usually get there. After I got home DH and I talked for a while while we ate lunch and then went out to tackle the leaves in the back yard where we worked all afternoon. Spent the evening looking at potential homes.

Did some more of that today and more talking about the future. Now I'm playing catch up with laundry and dinner and some cleaning. And wisk goes the weekend once again. We FINALLY got some rain today after a very very dry 2 months of NOTHING but a spit here or there. It actually smelled like chalk when I watered the bushes yesterday. So horridly dry. Shad is awash and we are a desert - how is that? :dizzy:

Shad - glad you got the doco straightened out. Too bad your friend is not content to visit with you. I agree that DS2 would enjoy and adventure far more than visiting with old(er) ladies here.

Annie - you sure are one busy woman. Do you actually read Cosmo???? Redbook will give them a run for the money and they have recipes to boot  Cosmo got too over the top for me - or maybe I just got too old for Cosmopolitan magazine

Ooops - I wrote this a LONG time ago and forgot to post it. I still need to add more personals to those I have missed but it's almost bedtime. I will pick up in the morning. Nighty night.

Shad 10-24-2010 11:47 PM

Happy - R has no problem with visiting. But she is not one to sit quietly as Chris is. With R we generally tend to go out, eat, find interesting gardens or old houses, and drink wine. She likes a lively discussion and frequently I take an opposing view of the subject just to get her going. See we are as bad as one another. R works in HR, and I don't have much time for the 'warm & fuzzy" as I call it, so we have some interesting discussions. We have some mutual friends now living in Brisbane so we may go visit them.
Hair sounds good.
Can you guess that once again I have nothing to do?

MELODY525 10-25-2010 08:12 AM

GOOD MORNING CHICKS. HAPPY MONDAY/TUESDAY.
WARMER HERE AND THAT FIGURES. I JUST PUT PLASTIC OVER MY A/C-FAN UNITS. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. IT'S NOT NOVEMBER YET.

HAVE A GREAT DAY YOURSELVES:moped:

ANNIE....LAUGHING AT THE WINE CELLAR CHAT WITH SHAD. ALL THE SHOPPPING MADE ME WANT TO DIP VEGGIES IN THE DRESSING. :hun: SO...DID YOU LEARN ANY NEW WICKED TRICKS FOR BED????:belly:

SHAD....YOU CERTAINLY HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY! GLAD THE BBQ WENT WELL AND THE WEATHER WAS GOOD. WE'LL BE THERE FOR LEFTOVERS!!YUM!! GLAD TOO THAT THE DS2 AND FAMILY HAD SOMETHING SO GOOD TO CELEBRATE AS WELL. FEBRUARY??? YIKES!!! HOW TO KEEP THAT BOY HAPPY TILL THEN!?!? BACKPACKING SHOULD KEEP HIM OCCUPIED TILL THE NEW JOB BEGINS! AS FOR THE BANKS...I THINK I TOLD YOU THIS LAST TIME WE TALKED: I ONLY CAUGHT THE END OF A CONVO ON THE TV NEWS CHANNEL THAT THEY ARE PREDICTING THAT "SOMETHING" IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE AUSTRALIAN ECONOMY IN 2011 THAT IS GOING TO RICOCHET BACK HERE AND CAUSE AN EVEN WORSE OUTCOME THAN WE HAD LAST YEAR BECAUSE WE'RE NOT STABLE YET. I DID HEAR IT WAS TO DO WITH HOUSING. I KEPT GOING ROUND THE TV DIAL FOR A WEEK AND NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD ON IT. GOOD THING YOUR MAN OVER THERE "VOTED" NOT TO USE OUUR BANKING IDEAS...WHERE IS HE?? WE COULD USE HIM OVER HERE!! WILL R BE THERE FOR XMAS OR A SHORTER VISIT. IT WILL GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO PLAY AT TRAVEL GUIDE!! SHOW HER ALL THE GOOD STUFF.
SO GLAD TO HEAR ABOUT MICK'S DOCO. TOO FUNNY IT WAS THEIR FAULT!!! :encore: GOOD FOR YOU!! HOPE YOU BOTH GET THE JOB TOO!!

HAPPY...JEN IS A DARKISH RED NOW. I CALL HER MISS MAHOGANY! WATCH OUT FOR YOUR TEMPER THOUGH...I THINK WHEN JEN HAS RED HAIR HER TEMPER FLIES FASTER :lol3: :lol3: SO NOW THAT YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFIED AND LOOKING AT PROSPECTIVE HOUSES AND DREAMING NEW DREAMS FOR A FUTURE OUT OF THAT "FOREIGN LAND" YOU'RE LIVING IN...DO YOU FEEL BETTER?? HOPE SO  HOW ARE THE LUNGS?? DID YOU HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER PICTURE TAKEN???INQUIRING MINDS NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS!!!

annie175 10-25-2010 08:46 AM

Happy Monday....moving right along...almost Friday again....being optimistic here!!

Shad...wine cabinet will do too!! I have a small wine rack that will hold aout 9 bottles. It only has like 4 bottles of wine on it. I will take donations.

MELLIE....sorry didn't learn any new wicked tricks for the bedroom...I already knew them. hahahahahahhaha Today's high is 76 and sunny, drats being in here working at the moment, but greatful.

Happy,..got to be lovin' that red hair. One of my BFFs has red hair, it is so pretty. mmmmm a pedi, love the pedi's. I gave myself a pedi over the weekend. Just didn't want to spend the money. I usually just read the fun stuff in Cosmo. I also read Red Book and all the others. I admit I am a magazine junkie. Love the recipes too. I go to GMA, Regis & Kelly and all those websites and look at their recipes also. I bet I have a Godbillion recipes and probably over 50 cookbooks and what do I do? Go on the internet and get the recipe. I am a dork.

Good mornings to all ya'll, hope your weekends were relaxing yet productive.

Today's breakfast...cottage cheese, grapes, coffee, iced tea fixed for the day. and I WILL hula hoop tonight.

Love and hugs

ceejay52 10-25-2010 11:09 AM

Morning Chicks.
i made to Springfield on Saturday. My sis had to work Saturday night so i had to be quiet most of the time. Sunday was church, and I took them out to eat at Braums. She called my nephew to see if we could drop by to see her grand daughter. She is beautiful. and came right to me. My sis and I went to the park for a walk but I didn't to well. I get very winded. I enjoyed my time in the swing.
Tonight is a family dinner where every one is coming out and I'll get to play baby more often. I'll try to get some picture's posted.

My sis gave me a consult on diet program but it's one I've already implemented. If I can't get my hdl up with regular exercise then I'll have to have medication to raise it. i'm to count calories at least 1500, keep my cholesterol grams below 200 and eat more than 20 grams of fiber. She wanted the experience. I did learn that my bp med is a beta blocker which helps with my racing pulse, but it also help with my bp.

No time for personal's, just learned that my neice is on her way out.

Laura705 10-25-2010 11:19 AM

Good Morning all. Monday again so soon??!!

Annie - Sounds like a nice weekend. How was dinner w/ Bo? Don't worry about offending re my lack of progress on the weight loss front - I definitely need a kick in the pants as far as that's concerned!! That said - food is on my mind RIGHT NOW. I think it's just being back at work and wishing I weren't!!

Shad - Glad the bbq was mostly rain-free. Another visitor - sounds nice. And you'll be out and about w/ this one. :) LOL about the co. already having the doco on their intranet. Do they have locations in the US? They might be able to help w/ the unemployment problem here!!

Mel - LOL about Jen's temper being quicker as a redhead! :lol3: Gosh, I hope this economic crisis isn't going to keep ricocheting around the world! Yeh, we had a mild weekend, and it's warm here today too. I'm enjoying it! We're supposed to get super windy weather the next couple days. I'm sure everyone's trees but ours will lose all their leaves during this! I left bf a note to put away the lawn furniture. One time the wind blew a chair into a window and broke the glass. Don't need that to happen again. :nono:

Happy - Ahh, I could use a pedicure. Actually, I wouldn't mind just sitting on the sofa with my feet soaking in the foot spa and a glass of wine by my side. :D So I'm confused - is it WI you're considering for a future home? I thought NH was a contender too. Confused. :???:

Hellos to Michelle & Ceejay!!

Well, I was quite the sloth yesterday, except for two loads of laundry. Bf and I finally went to the phone store. He's been hounding me about getting a new phone ever since I said I was ready for a new one. I ended up getting an iPhone. At lease I'll be able to eliminate my separate iPod now. Our IT group supports the iPhone operating system, so if I wanted I could get it set up for work e-mail and intranet, but I'm not sure that's what I want! Once you respond to a couple e-mails on your commute, a new norm would be set and it would never end!!

Anyway - one thing I will definitely consider doing with this iPhone is having an app to help me w/ tracking my eating. I will have to do some research on that.

Nothing much else to report. After the phone purchase and lunch, I walked doggy, stitched a rip in a pair bf's gym shorts, then at long last sewed the grocery bag holder using my cute doggie fabric. I need to take a pic of that - I have an online sewing friend who'll want to see it.

I wasted a couple hours watching "When in Rome" on cable last night. Ugh, just didn't care for that silly movie. And I tuned in about 20 minutes after it had started, so I probably missed the least annoying part of it! I had the dvd for "A Single Man" from the library, but it wouldn't load for me on our dvd player. It goes back tonight. I think the lead actor was nominated for an Oscar last year, so I probably would have liked it better than "When in Rome". I'm skipping the movie tomorrow night. Aaack, I'm almost out of discounted movie theater tickets. I need to follow up w/ M. to see if she's placed the order yet...

Okay, just babbling now. Need to get this baby posted and get to work. I have an online compliance session (Information Security) to complete by Friday and I just want to get it over and done with because I'm sick of getting the daily reminder e-mails.

TTFN!
